Words hold incredible power—more than we realize. Just like Proverbs 18:21 says, ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue.’ I used to wake up dreading Mondays, but then I learned to speak positivity into my life instead. It’s a choice we make every day!
Think about it: what you say can either lift you up or drag you down. Negativity? It only breeds more negativity. But when you speak life, you open doors to blessings!
Your narrative matters. If you're tired of feeling stuck, change your words. If you want something good, say it out loud! 💬
Remember, you’re never wrong when you quote God’s word. What would your life look like if you only spoke the promises?
Life-changing, right?
Let’s commit to speaking life today!
Welcome to the Testament of Faith Podcast. I'm Ray Bradshaw, and joining me again tonight is John Paul Murphy and John Quinn of the World of Faith Ministries in Keensville, North Carolina. And the subject of this podcast is why your words are creating your future. The Bible teaches that words have power and can influence direction of a person's life. So it's in Proverbs 1821, death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. And it pretty much tells us that we do have the power to speak goodness into our lives if we want it. And I for one am a firm believer of that. It's Monday, I got to go to work, wake up on the wrong side of the bed, so to speak. But that's a choice that we make. If you don't want to be like that, you do not have to be like that. That's right. And you know, we get that through the power of Jesus. Your words are creating your future.
SPEAKER_03That's right. Absolutely. If you know, you can't never keep on continuously saying nothing ever good happens to me. And you know, we all know these people that talk like this, you know, that they are constantly saying that nothing ever good happens to me. When it rains it pours. Yep. Yeah, the sky's falling. I'm always struggling. I I'll never get free. I'm always sick. I'm always broke. My family my family will never change. They that's they they say these things. I mean, I know, I mean, I personally know people that say this all the time. Right. And I I have to listen to it, and I'm like, I wouldn't be saying that over my life, because you just said you read that scriptures in Proverbs 18 that it was talking about life and death is in the power of the tongue, and you eat the fruits of it. So, you know, and I I say this all the time in church. If you don't like which way the ship's going, you know, you don't like which way your life's headed, then change it. You know, change it by your words. Jesus said in Matthew 7, ask and it'll be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be open to you. For everyone who asks receives. So I mean, you know, the power of getting something is asking, speaking it out of your mouth. You know, I I get on people all the time when they they start doing silent prayers and and just we're gonna have a moment of silence and we're gonna be praying and silent. You know, silent prayers do not benefit anything, and the way you speak, even if you're not praying, it's uh it's not a helping you any at all. It's just the way you talk, if you expect to walk in the promises of God, which we have covered, you know, talking about what all God's done, you can't keep on talking the problem. People talk the problem all the time. They get into speaking, you know, look at the Israelites when they got into out of Egypt and they got out of Egypt and they're into the land, they're like they just started complaining. Well, we were better off in Egypt. Well, you at least we had cucumbers, at least we had something to eat. And, you know, they did just complain. And it kept them from getting to where God had promised them because of their mouth. They wouldn't hush their mouth about what it had. You know, when you carry fear-filled words, then your life is gonna become a fearful life because you're constantly carrying words that are nothing negative, always causing things that, you know, I even get on people stuff that say, that scares me to death. I'm like, well, I wouldn't say that. Right. I wouldn't say things. I mean, you know, because you don't want things, you want the what the word of God says, and you know, words carry faith, words carry fear, words carry power. The Bible clearly tells it. Even they have found that out even outside of the Bible. The Bible's known for a long time and showed you that. They've even found out outside, you know, talking to people, you need to have a positive attitude, and that you know, they all these help classes outside of the Bible. I'm not I'm not recommending any of it, right? But they do teach that now. They teach that you, you know, what you need to say and how you need to conduct yourself. And that's one of the things is you need to change your mouth. I had a sermon one time that I titled it, Shut Your Mouth. I did. I titled it and I preached it. It went over really good compared to the title, because people always have something. I'm not saying everybody, but a lot of people, I know several that have always have a negative outlook, a negative confession. They nothing's ever good, and they always talk down about people. But if you want them people to change their life, why don't you start speaking what God's word is? This is the thing we say all the time at church. Me and John, you know, you're never wrong when you quote God's word. Right. That's right. Because God's word cannot lie. That's right. Even if your circumstances don't look like what the Bible says, you're never wrong when you quote God's word. When I was looking to get out of debt, you know, I would I would quote a scripture in there that Lord, you said I would be a lender and not a bar. And you know, I quoted that. I wrote it on the back of my tithe and envelopes. I quoted every time I was given, and I quoted that out, and I believe well, on my heart, that that's what got me completely out of debt, debt-free, is because I kept on quoting that word. You know, I also quote the words, Lord, you say you'll give me the desires of my heart. And I was talking to a lady today, I said, you know, God can you can have more than one desire, and you need to speak out them desires out of your mouth and let God know what your desires are. I said, and just keep speaking the promise. Don't worry about what it looks like, just keep speaking the promises over there.
SPEAKER_00That was it. You know, Proverbs 13, 3, he who guards his mouth preserves his life. Yeah. But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. In other words, careful speech can lead to well being, while reckless words can lead to trouble.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Abraham changed his whole his whole future with calling things that was not as as though they were, by was which was changing his name from Abram to Abraham. Before Isaac was ever born, Abram had to start introducing himself everywhere he went. Hello, I'm Abraham. Yep, father of many nations. How many kids you got? I don't have any right now, but I'm father of many nations. You know, he had to go around to everywhere he went, yeah, saying, Hello, I'm father of many nations. Abraham, that's what that meant. And he was going around telling everybody that. So it was speaking into existence before he ever got to fulfillment of having Isaac. And so, you know, the Bible clearly teaches this. And I and it's something to me that baffles me to like, how does people not grasp this if you read the Bible any at all? Like, why would you put negative things in your life on your words? You know, well, I mean, I I hear it all the time, and I'm I'm just I want to put my hand in my palm and just like, what are you doing? Like, I I don't understand how you could do it. So, you know, when you're there saying, I'm sick, I don't feel good. You know, I don't get up in a morning, like you were talking about a while ago. I don't get up in the morning and start saying, I'm sick, I don't feel good. I said, By Jesus Christ, the stripes placed on his back, I am healed. You've already paid for my healing. And Lord, I thank you for my healing. And I get in there and get in that, like, even the small things that most people wouldn't think about, like you wake up with a little tiny sniffle. Oh man, I'm I'm I'm rebuking that thing trying to get it on. Mm-mm. Get out of me, Coban. And the same thing, like uh, some people will have a headache and they'll they'll just deal with it, go take a not me, I'm like, no, my body cannot have a headache. And then I I get into that with everything.
SPEAKER_00That's that's one good thing about being a Christian to me though, because I mean we all will struggle. Yeah. You know, I wake up some mornings and start off that and I stop and think. I've been in that scripture and I've read it, and that reminds me every day to stay positive and look forward to something good and speak positivity into my life and on my family's life. Because you know, three years ago, yeah. You could call me negative, Nancy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, that's what I said about everybody. When you get it, when you get it in your heart though, that that what what it says in Matthew uh 1234, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, once you get it in inside your heart, the Bible says that the scripture is life to those that find it and health to all their flesh. But once you get that word and you start quoting that word, it'll build your future. You you if people would only say what God says, how much would their life change? If you only said what God said about your life, how much would that change your life?
SPEAKER_03It's changed mine for sure. I've been that's all I've been proclaiming. I just started proclaiming that continuously out of my mouth. You know, it reminds me of the story of David. He didn't feed Goliath's fears or fearful words when everybody else says he's too big, he can't be defeated, we're all gonna die. But David said, Who is this uncircumcised for this thing? Who is it you come against me? Who are you coming against to God? He came at him, you know, with words of faith, words of power. He looked at this thing like, this ain't nothing for my God. And so that's how you have to look at the giants even in your life that you're you're dealing with. Your children might not be living where they need to be, but you don't look at it, well, they're still in sin and they're just they're doing everything wrong. No, you get into this Bible and you find the scriptures you can get into that says, thousand generations my children will be saved. If one in the household will give it to their life to God, he'll save the whole house. You get into them scriptures and then you stand on that word with authority that God has given you. He says, I give you authority. And he says, He gives you dominion. You take that authority and you run with it and you start speaking it out. God's work, God's word only works when you speak it out. I'm telling you, it only works when you speak it out. He's given to you, but you've got to speak it out. You have to take the words and come out of your mouth. You can't fight thoughts with thoughts. You have to put words with the thoughts and come against it and say, no, this is what it's gonna be. And you know, you're not crazy when you're out just speaking by yourself. I'll be out walking dogs and and working at the church, and I'll just start quoting God's word one thing after another. We'll riding a Kubota and me and my son, and I'll just start quoting the Bible over everything that I need done, and I'll just quote the Bible one thing after another. Lord, you said I shall not want. I have no wants. I have no, you said you give me the desires of my heart, God. I thank you, Lord, that you know, and they just quote scriptures over that I can thank in my head because I've got a whole library full of scriptures up here because I've read them and I've soaked them into my heart. And now I don't have to be toting the Bible around everywhere because they're up here. Yeah. It's like you were saying earlier, you memorize things just because you've done it so much. We were talking earlier. You've done I've done this so much, it's memory to me now. I know, I know where things is at. I can kind of flip around and find it, and and it's in my heart because I study all the time. And and that can be you, you know, it's not a hard thing. Like you said earlier, you know, it took you took a couple of weeks to memorize all the different codes at the place you were working at, and you can do the same thing, you can memorize scriptures. Like you think about how much you've grown just in the last six months to a year. That's right. In the Bible, like you, you're you're over there spitting out scriptures like this. Yeah. And if I can if I can, I pretty much know where it's at. You know where it's at. That's what I'm saying. So just think about using Ray Bradshaw, for example. You know, I knew I know him from years ago. We hunted together, we've been out across the country together, and now I I mean the Ray Bradshaw I know now is not the same Ray Bradshaw I used to know. Thank you. This guy, this guy can just be like, he'll tell me, go look at his scripture, and right here's where it's at, and you and and look it up and tell me what you think. And that's that's the difference because he's took time to study. And that that's not condemning anybody, that's saying you can do the same thing. I've watched the transformation in his life, so don't pit yourself down and say, I don't know if I can do that. You can. It's it's not a hard thing to do because I was at the same place. Right, not tell people, I mean, 15 minutes a day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like dog training. Yeah, just take 15 minutes a day to read that scripture and get into it. Yeah, and then you before you know it, you're like, you're wanting more, then you want 30 minutes. Yeah, then you want an hour, and then that's that's really really when you start getting into it and starting being able to quote that scripture.
SPEAKER_03You also need to understand with these words that we're talking about, it controls the spiritual realm. I'm gonna get deep with you. Bring it on, brother. Jesus cursed the fig tree with his words. Yep. God created the earth with his words. Yep. That's both spiritual things. I mean, you I can't go out there and physically round up a tree with my words. I mean, that's why he did, he used it like and you know, hell responds to your words. Hell has to listen to your words. That's right. And people don't understand that authority and dominion you have, that hell has to listen. It's not just God, hell has to listen to your words because you've been given authority from Almighty God that the demons have to listen to you because now greater is he that lives in you than he that lives in the world. Jesus Christ lives in you, the great one that has authority. You're not speaking on your own behalf. It says, Whatever you bind on earth, I'll bind in heaven. Whatever you loose on earth, I'll loose from heaven. So that's also saying, hey, I you got the ability to bind things, you got the ability to loose things with your mouth. It doesn't say think it in your head, you got to release it with your mouth. You know, salvation, the very beginning of it, you have to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Mountains have to move when you speak to them. It didn't say the mountain move, I think real hard, and uh and I I try to move it like this, like they do on Star Wars. You have to, you know, you have to think. Yeah. You have to really use your words and speak to things to get it to happen. Yep.
SPEAKER_00That's right. I mean, we we said something about on another podcast too, that every bad thing that happens in your life starts with a thought. I mean, you and you can control that thought. And the more you get in the scripture and the more you read it, then your those thoughts start changing in your life. You you you quit thinking those bad thoughts, but if you do have one, you can reverse it. Because you that's the tool to fight it. You're fighting that evil because most of those bad thoughts, that's the devil's planted that.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, I mean he comes around the the plant thoughts in your head, but you got to remember, you know, speak what God says. You don't say what the rest of the culture's saying around you. You don't speak what everybody else is speaking, the fear that everybody else is speaking. I hear people all the time talking about, I heard it today, somebody's talking about, well, you need to store up food and water and the end time. I said, I've never seen the righteous begging for bread. I quote the Bible. I'm not sure. That's right. And I said, I'm not, I'm not gonna be worried about that. And you know, you can fear will pit onto people, and that's the devil. The devil is the author of fear. He gets on people, but you're never wrong when you start speaking God. You can say, you know, instead of saying, I have such a tough time now, you say, I am blessed. Right. The Lord says I'm blessed, and he says the blessings will overtake me and come upon me and overtake me. That's in Deuteronomy 28, and it talks about all the blessings, says blessed will be the works of my hands. So when I go to work and I need some, I'm believing God for something at work, I just lay my hands on and say, Lord, you said blessed would be the works of my hands. And you you're never wrong when you're quoting God. I'm not being cocky or arrogant, I'm just reading the Bible out to my situation. And see, some people is like, you're so cocky about it, you know, and arrogant, and they look at me like that. And I'm like, No, I'm reading the Bible, is all I'm doing, and quoting the Bible to the situation. Well, yeah, it says speak the thing. You know, say you can say, I am healed, I am delivered, I am chosen, I'm victorious, I'm more than an overcomer. When you're feeling low, say I'm more than an overcomer. Amen. You you have to build yourself up in your own words through life because life will love to just like crumble on you. That's right. But if you if you let it, it'll take you, if you let the devil, he'll take you out. That's what his plan is. He wants to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants to take you out. But the way you fight the devil, what did you what did Jesus do? He used the word of God to take out the devil.
SPEAKER_01That's right. It is written.
SPEAKER_03It is written. That's the same thing I do. I'm not doing anything different. I'm learning how he did it and mimicking the same thing. He said, speak to the mountain, I speak to the mountain. He tells me how to do it, I'm doing it. That's all I'm doing. It's not that I'm living some cocky or boasted life that I'm some great somebody, but I've realized who Christ is this lives in me and how he's taught me to live. So I just take authority over everything. And people say, Well, that's that's crazy faith or whatever. But look at Jesus. Did he ever rebuke anybody for having too much faith? No, not having enough faith. He rebuked them for not having enough faith. You have little faith. Yeah, you have little faith. So that's how you come in, and you just agree with what God says. I'm joining up with my partnership. He's come and lived in me, and now I live in him. We're partnered together, me and God. We're in partnership together. I'm his I'm his heir now. I'm coming into agreement. We've all come into agreement. And now I'm just saying what his part is, and I I just join in with it. I I claim the victory, I claim the promises, I claim everything of it. So, you know, you have to have that kind of speech coming out of your mouth continuously. Because doubt will come in if you allow it.
SPEAKER_01Take your thoughts into captivity.
SPEAKER_03Take your thoughts into captivity. And your thoughts, every word that I'm gonna say starts at a thought up here.
SPEAKER_01What does the Bible say about your thoughts? It says not only does it say to take your thoughts into captivity, but it also tells you what to think on. It says, if it's be pure, honest, of good report, if there be any virtue in it, think on these things. When you're thinking, maybe you need to think about what you're thinking about.
SPEAKER_00That's right. That's what I was saying earlier. Everything starts with a thought. Back in this Bible. Every bad thing starts with a thought. So if you get up every morning and think about the good word, think about Jesus.
SPEAKER_01Think about whether the thought you're having is pure. That's right. Whether it's honest.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, is this a good report? You know.
SPEAKER_01Is there any virtue in this thought? If there ain't nothing in it, then then maybe you need to quit thinking about it. Because what is it, what's the other thing? As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
SPEAKER_00All right. We all know that. You know right good and well, when you start thinking something, you know what the outcome is gonna be. Good or bad.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So before the walls of Jericho felt, there was a shout. Shows you that there's power when you start speaking it from the mouth. Speaking it from the mouth. It weren't a thought. Before Lazarus came out of the grave, there was a voice saying, Lazarus, come forth. Come forth, yep. Death has to obey your name. Are you you getting what I'm saying? Yes, sir. Death has to obey the when you speak it out. You realize I'm not using my own authority. I gave you, you said this just a few minutes ago. Life and death is in the power of the tongue. You've got the authority over death. And some people look at it like, how can you say you can control? I mean, if you're gonna believe one part of you, you might as well believe the whole thing. I mean, you know, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna take this Bible and pick it apart and say, Well, I believe this, but I don't know about that. I know I have faith to believe it the whole thing. So life and death is in my power of my tongue. I can speak to death and call it back to life. You can have that authority because Jesus gave it to you. And he said, Greater these works and greater works you should do.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00That's that's what he said. I can't stand it when somebody starts nitpicking the Bible and start twisting it for their own meaning.
SPEAKER_01Well, you you that's about like telling me, Well, I I can believe in a virgin birth, but I I can't believe God heals me. I don't I don't see how you can how you can say that because if you believe one thing, you it's just as easy to believe the whole thing. Like that video I showed you earlier, man, said he didn't know if he believed in the in miracles. In miracles. And he was a pastor. Or in the Noah's Ark. I mean, it's just as easy for me to believe in that as it is a lot of things that you see in the world today.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean we might do a reaction video on that one.
SPEAKER_03Then look at the uh just giving you another one. I I like to keep on talking about how your sound, your voice has authority. Look at this. The dry bones. They were dried up. He said, prophesy to them bones. Speak to them bones, tell them what to do. And then the army rose up. Before creation existed, God said, Let there be.
SPEAKER_00Let it be.
SPEAKER_03We covered Genesis earlier, you know, early in other podcasts, and he he was speaking to speak to it, just but call it into, and you think about this now. Get this into your mindset. If God could create the whole world with words, why can't you change the world with your words? Instead of saying, Well, the world's just going to hell in a handbasket. Why don't you say there's a revival going across the land? And it's breathing a fresh fire, and my children and my grandchildren is going to be saved, my whole family is going to be saved. I thank you, God, that you supply the needs. Every need I have, Lord Jesus said I have already supplied it. I make a way where there's seems to be no way, God says. You can get these scriptures, and I can just go on for 10 minutes, just quoting one scripture behind another one about what God says. Any problem you give me, I got a scripture I can combat it with. Bam, bam, bam, bam. And uh, you know, that's why you know why that people have this kind of thing. Because the devil comes to attack your prayer life. When you get ready to pray, you'll have something come up that tries to interrupt you and tries to get you off track. That's the reason you have to guard over your prayer time. You have to guard over your reading time, your studying time. You know, he tries to attack your praise. You know why he tries to attack your praise? Think about Paul and Silas. They didn't get in jail and say, Whoa, is us?
SPEAKER_00Whoa, was me?
SPEAKER_03We're in jail. We've been beaten, Silas. We've got it so hard. Look at us. No, they got in there and they started giving thanks and started praising God. And then the wall shook. They got the prison guard got saved. It changed the whole entire thing in there when they started praising God. That's the reason the devil, that's the reason people in church they don't want to praise. Or you see people, I'm like, you don't understand. Your praise is a weapon. It's literally a weapon that comes and takes the devil out because he knows if he can get people to be quiet, don't praise, don't throw your hand up, don't sing the song. And that's the reason a lot of times when we sing church songs at church, we sing about victory. We sing about what God can do. You know, I trust in the Lord. And you know, we sing songs like that that builds up faith, that builds you up because that's what you if I can get it to come out of your mouth, if I can't get it to come out no other time, I'm gonna get you to try to sing it. That's right. Because I'm trying to get you to get to have something positive coming out of your mouth. And so he'll attack your confession. He wants you to be silent. The devil wants you to be silent, but you you should never be silent. The kingdom of God wasn't built by silent people. It took men getting up and going professing the gospel.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's like Matthew, verse 12, I mean chapter 12, 36 and 37. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you'll be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Your words will.
SPEAKER_00Your words will condemn you.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. They will. So this is go right along with it. The enemy will whisper in your ear, you're finished. And then you'll start saying, I guess we're just finished. Then he'll get you to whisper in your ear, nothing's changing. Oh, there ain't nothing changing around here. It's been the same way it's always been. And you will you'll get to saying that. Then they'll say, Well, you're going from one valley to another valley. You're always in a battle when you serve the Lord. You know, you just gotta be ready to fight all the time. I mean, like, what are you talking about? God says you go from victory to victory. God says that you come out, you don't you're not sitting in though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death off air, no, it doesn't say to take a tent up and live in that thing. Keep on moving. You'll n I we'll never get ahead.
SPEAKER_00If y'all sit there and see me giggling, it's cause I've been there. Yeah. I've been this exact way.
SPEAKER_03I mean, don't don't don't think think you were the only one in the boat. It was John and and me were both in the boat with you, okay? I get you with you. I'm just telling you, praise the Lord, I've solved the light.
SPEAKER_01When we realize where we go wrong, we try and steer other people right. Yeah. That's right. Because there's been a lot of things.
SPEAKER_00Jesus teaches that our words reveal what is in our hearts and have everlasting consequences. I mean, that's and those thoughts are going right back to that thought. That's why I say everything starts with a thought, good or bad. And you gotta think about those consequences before you let it come out of your lips.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. They'll say, I'm never getting ahead.
SPEAKER_00I mean, because I'm telling you, I've said I've said some things to some people I love it. I wouldn't and you know, you always tell you you can't take those words back. Once you hit somebody's ears, it's over with. I mean, I ain't I've I have I've said some things I highly regret and wish I could take it all back. But I've asked for forgiveness, so we have to be forgiven.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. He loves to get you the devil loves to get you to say things like that and to say things so he can try to destroy you. But you can also have these words that you can say, you know, he's like, you're abandoned. Now you can say, He will never leave me even nor forsake me. God's never gonna leave me nor forsake me. He will always be with me even to the ends of the earth. If God be for me, who can be against me? Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. I have entitlement to goodness. And what is good things? I have entitlement to it. God said it. It's mine. That's right.
SPEAKER_00Here, God didn't put us here to be miserable.
SPEAKER_03No. That's the devil trying to put miserable on you. And and I don't care where you're at right now, I don't care what the circumstances look like. I guarantee you one thing. If you'll get in this Bible right here and you'll read it, and you will start applying to what it says in your life, I promise you, with everything I have in me, that it will change your life. It's changed my life, it's changed my friend Ray's life, it's changed John's life. Getting it in that word, reading it out, and and don't just be quiet about it. I I see people sometimes, and I'm guilty. I'll read the Bible quietly. I do, and I'm guilty for it. But I have learned something over the last couple of years. Read it out loud. When you're reading the Bible, read it out loud. When you're in study time, when I'm out there in my building, you know, studying and reading the Bible, I have I force myself to read it out loud because I've learned that God's word has authority and it does me no good just to hear it and think it in my head. I have to read out loud. So even if I'm the only one in the room, I'm reading out loud because that's the importance of it, because you you you need to read it out loud. I see, you know, I understand if you're at an airport or somewhere, or you know, somewhere that you, you know, you there's a pile of people around and nobody wants to hear you reading. I understand reading it quietly. Right. But if you've got your prayer time, which I like, I just talked about, the devil will try to take your prayer time. And I understand you can have prayer time in a tractor, and I'm for that. I have trip prayer time tractor, I've had prayer time in deer stands, I've had prayer time, you know, riding down the highway. But there's also something very special, very, very, let's still use the word intimate, about going and taking time to just spend with the Lord. You're not doing anything else. And sometimes my time is, you know, I get up in the morning and I'm always praying and I'm I'm I'm talking to the Lord first thing of the morning, and I give him that time and I listen to messages. But a lot of times in the evening, you know, when I get my kids settled down and I've got them going to bed, I'll go out to out there and study that Bible and read it for an hour and take that time and say, God, this is just me and you. There's no cell phone, there's no distractions, there's nothing here. So that's that's very important. So what did in Mark do you you got Mark for? No. Mark 4, what did Jesus do? Jesus didn't get up and say, you know, everybody else in the boat said, We're gonna die. Yeah, we're gonna die. This storm, we're in a bad storm. You don't somebody needs to go wake up, Jesus. We're on a storm. He's asleep in the bottom of the boat. He said, Let's go to the other side. So he he knew when he said we're going to the other side, we're going to the other side. He knew what he was talking about.
SPEAKER_04That's right.
SPEAKER_03But everybody else is speaking no ho. You have to watch the negative people in your life. I'm talking to anybody, listen, you need to watch what they're saying. And if they say something negative over you, you get a little bit of boldness about them and say, Hey, you don't say that about me. You don't, you don't pick, you don't have that right to authority on me. Even doctors, they'll tell you you'll never walk again. You you can't you can't do this, you can't do that. They have no authority to tell you what you can and can't do. That's God. I I get so angry when I hear people, Christians come in. Well, the doctor said this. I don't give a rip what the doctor says. Let's read this Bible and tell me what it says.
SPEAKER_00There you go. I know when I was in the hospital, every time they'd go to carry me to surgery, they'd read over the little thing. Now you have a chance you might not come back out of this. I said, Whoop. I said, Don't need that one upstairs controls that, not you. That's right. I said, I I got all my faith in him.
SPEAKER_02I feel like I've done a lot of talking, and y'all got me on a topic that I'm fired up about.
SPEAKER_00Well, you've been a camera hog tonight for sure. I I am, I am being fired up. I'm just missing, brother. I mean, you I was gonna read on you said something about moving mountains a while ago. I mean, that's Mark chapter 11, verse 23. For assuredly I say to you, whoever says that this mountain be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that these things he says, not he thinks, that he says will be done. He will have whatever he says, not he thinks. I mean, Jesus was giving us the power of the tongue right here.
SPEAKER_01Well, you notice he said there, believe, he mentioned believe one time. He mentioned what you say three times. Three times. Three times, sir. Yep. Believing is part of it, but you got to believe, but you gotta say. Yeah, you gotta say. You gotta speak. You gotta speak it out.
SPEAKER_00Turn those thoughts into words.
SPEAKER_01A lot of a lot of Christians believe right, but they talk wrong. I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_00That verse right there can that verse right there connects faith-filled speech with trust in God's power. Yeah, you can't and keep in the power to act.
SPEAKER_01But you can't you can't talk defeat and expect victory. Right. You you can't you can't talk poverty and expect abundance. Oh yeah. You I mean you can't talk sickness and expect help.
SPEAKER_04That's right.
SPEAKER_01Too many people are saying what they have instead of having what they say. You know, you can you can sit there and constantly say what you see with your eyes. But until you start speaking what you want to have, what you how do I express that? What you're believing for? What need yeah, what you're believing for. Until you speak what you're believing for and put words to it, you're you're not going to have it because you're you're gonna have lack, you're gonna have poverty, you're gonna have doubt if that's what you're constantly talking about. If you're if you're constantly talking about how God is meeting all your needs and you don't have needs, you know, and how the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. If you're constantly saying that I have everything I need, I don't have a need because I have my need meter.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_01And if you if if you're con that's like the Lord has has directed me to, I I said this the other day uh the other day. He's he's told me to quit using the word won't and quit using the word need that to exit them out from my vocabulary. Because how pitiful are you if you need an ink pen.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_01I I I mean he I know that's a small thing, and people are like, Well that, you know, I I don't believe that. But that that's something he got on me about. Even saying I need something like an ink pen. He said, say can I use your ink pen? Change change how you're saying even those small things. Yeah, even the little thing. Even the little what is even the uh little foxes at school divine.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01He he said, change what you're saying. And and you know, I thought, I thought, hey, I'm I'm saying the right things, and then I realized, hey, there you sometimes I say I I need something, and I'm that ain't what I should be saying, because he supplies all my we have our desires.
SPEAKER_00See, a lot of times we think our needs, and a lot of times our needs really aren't needs. They're more what they're more they turn into more wants than they are needs.
SPEAKER_03But he also give you desires your heart. Yeah, he gives you desires you hear. So if you can get an like I said this morning, you know, your wants can be a desire. You know, I was praying for a lady yesterday that uh she said, you know, I really would like I would really like this job, it would be an easier job on me, it would be a better job. And I said, I said, she said, I said, God will give you the desires of your heart. I I I claim that. Because I claim that on everything because you know, here's the thing. When I get a I get a job, I get money. It's not for just me. I do get blessed off of it, but I'm a giver. I I realize that God give us money for a purpose. The purpose is the kingdom of God. It's the kingdom of God. It's his to do what he sees fit, and if he gets it in my hands, it's gonna go to do what he needs to be done. So, and the same thing about her. He said to rebuke the divine for your sake if you're a tither. And I I just started just praying. She called me this morning, she says, I got I got the job. Thank you, Jesus. That was yesterday, and this morning she called me and said, I got the job. I said, Well, I know when we have the prayer of faith, it does much. When you start praying the prayer of faith, you just start quoting what God says. I said, She said, Well, I'd I'd like to really have this job. I said, Stop saying that. I said, just stay, say, I thank you, Lord, for this job. Thank you, Lord.
SPEAKER_01That's a good God.
SPEAKER_03I thank you, God, for this job. So, you know, when you're you know, if you're wanting a better job, this leads into our view. If you're wanting a job, you want a better job, you want something, just start saying instead of I need a job, like John was saying, and I want a job. Start saying, Lord, I thank you. That's right. That you give me a good job. That's right. I thank you, that you give me the desire in my heart. And I I was explaining this to her. You can have more than one desire.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You can have more than one desire in your heart, because it and I gave her the script, I gave her script no way of putting anything down. I'm just saying, I'm using her for example because this is how I I relate it to her, and it brought revelation to me to it. Help me. Yeah, I I'm able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think. Yeah. Think about that just for a second. Think. Think is what happens before it gets into your heart to come a desire.
SPEAKER_00That's right.
SPEAKER_03It's a thought. I'm able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think. Think. Think about that. So then you, when you get that understanding, you're like, well, if he can do more than I can even ask or think, then I can start having more than just one desire.
SPEAKER_00That's right.
SPEAKER_03I can have a lot of desires, and God will fulfill them. And because I I I get on scriptures, and when I get on scriptures, I just grab hold of it and just hold on, like, yeah, this is my scripture, this is for me. So, you know, you don't have to agree with the things that's going on in your life. You can stand against them. You don't agree with, oh, well, there's a problem, there's a need, there's a lack, there's all this. You don't agree with that. You speak against it. I'm sorry, guys. I get so nobody has a need. I don't have a need. I have a need maker.
SPEAKER_00That's what I get at I understand what you're saying, but for our listeners out there, say there's somebody that's always asking for stuff, but they're not receiving. How how how do we lead them in the right direction? I'm pointing, but you're pointing at the Bible, and I understand that, but I mean I I don't know. But say if somebody's in the church that comes up to you, you see them there every Sunday, every Wednesday, but then say, Man, I've been praying for this and praying for this, and I really need it. I mean, is do do we start looking elsewhere at them, seeing where they're going wrong and not we look at their faith to see to judge to j try to judge how strong their faith actually is, or how do we handle that?
SPEAKER_03Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. That's the reason I keep pointing to this. Everything that I that everything just fixed me more than anything was not a man up there telling me something. It was the deeper I got into this, it cleaned my life up, it got me out of the way.
SPEAKER_01Knowing the author of the book.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, knowing the author of the book, because this is how I got to know him. Yeah, I got to know him better through this. And people don't like that. People don't like when you show them this and say, This, this is what you need to do.
SPEAKER_01And they're like God's will.
SPEAKER_03It's in his hand. Yeah, they don't they don't like when you hold this book up and you say, Well, are they doing something wrong? Are they is it uh do we need the issue? Is it right? They don't like this, but it's a simple answer. Yeah, but it's it's not complex, it's not deep.
SPEAKER_00The work look reading. That's what I tell people all the time with the days, technology, and even with AI, and these awesome Bible apps we have on iPads, computers, or phones.
SPEAKER_01You can type in if you don't like the AI, you can use Google. What does the Bible say about this? That's right. That's what I was gonna say. And if you don't, if you can't spell you, it's there's a little speaker icon at the top, and you can talk to it.
SPEAKER_00Well, even say, you know, even in all these Bible apps, they got the little search things on there, and you can just put in depression or anger or sickness, and it'll give you all the Bible verses that go co co-respon respond with that. Yeah, and it there's no excuse.
SPEAKER_03That's and and I know that's it's a smart answer, Ray, that I just gave. And I understand that. And that's a smart answer for a lot of people in the church. And but I had a pastor and he he he he mentors me a lot. He says, Every answer you need's in here. He said, Every answer you need's in here, everything you're dealing with. He said, Everything you're dealing with is in here. He says, if you need to know to answer something, he said, dive in.
SPEAKER_00When I come out of that rick and started diving in that Bible, like you just said, diving in that, I was doing that same thing on the app. Yeah. I'd go in there and I because I was just thinking about all the stuff I'd done in my past and why it happened to me, and everything I put in there, I found why. But it didn't it clean you up? It did.
SPEAKER_03It didn't take a minister getting up there telling you you were doing wrong. You're a you're a so down loneliness center. It this right here, this Bible that you got, it that's what cleaned you up. So that's what I'm saying. I not have to judge you. If you if I could just get you to open up and dive into this, that's what'll clean you up. That's all it takes. That's what that's what changed you. It wasn't somebody coming up and telling you, you need Ray, you need to, God saved you and you need to change your life around. It was when you made that decision to open up that Bible that's on this app here and start reading it. And and you were like, Man, I've done some things wrong. And then you were like, Well, Lord forgive me, and then you kept on diving into it, and then you found out, my man, I got authority. And then the next thing you know, man, God's will for me is to be healed. The next thing you know, you found out more things, and the more you got into it, that's how you got all the answers, right? That's right. For some things that you wanted, you got it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you have to study it. You just can't just pick it up every night and then read a verse out of it. Thank you, right. That's exactly right. That's exactly right.
SPEAKER_03Study to show yourself to be able to Bible verse.
SPEAKER_00Study yourself to be approved. And that's you know that's why I was saying earlier, too.
SPEAKER_03I mean, just fit just take 15 minutes a day. Yeah. And then the next thing you know, you'll be doing 30 minutes. Yeah, I'm serious, because you'll get hungry. Yeah. Because you just did 15 minutes, and then the next thing you know, you're studying more.
SPEAKER_00You're doing 30 an hour. Yeah. Next thing you know, you're starting a podcast, you invite your pastor friends over, and that's all we're talking about. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Then you're like, Yeah, that's what happens. That's right. Because it gets on the inside of you. It that didn't come from a minister telling you to do something. That didn't come from all this stuff. It just came from you diving in. And that's that's how I would tell anybody, well, I've been believing for some things and I haven't got it yet. Well, I would I would just read this. I would also play some. I I love this. I do this every day. I listen to two to three, sometimes four, Holy Ghost ministers preaching a day. So I'm feeding my spirit when I'm walking dogs, when I'm training, when I'm I'm at home. I mean, sometimes I'll be reading the Bible and I've got a turtle box in the background playing, preaching in the background, because I'm like, well, I might catch something when it comes by me. I'm catching on both ends. I got it playing in the house. You know, I'll be walking around and my phone's just playing, preaching, you know, because if my headset dies, I'm I'm like, because I'm trying, I'm feeding that faith. Faith grows inside of you because, you know, you have a desire. Yeah, because here's the thing. Sometimes the reason people haven't got what they needed and they keep on praying about it, because their faith level's not there to get it. Right.
SPEAKER_00That's kind of what I was asking a while ago. Your faith level's not there to get it.
SPEAKER_01It's never, it's never on God. No. It's never on him. The problem is never God. It's always the individual. I don't know how to say it other than that. It's always it I have never God has never I've never waited on God. He's always been waiting on me. Right.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, and that and that's why I asked while I go, is like, do we start looking at their faith? Do we ask them, well, how I mean, how much how much Bible time are you putting in a day? How much prayer time? How much I mean are you talking to God constantly?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Just are you doing those kind of things? I mean, that's why I was at that's why I asked that question.
SPEAKER_03Usually, you know, in the church, usually a lot of times I start teaching on that. Because if I find out there's a deficit of something, I start teaching on it. Right. But, you know, you can't make anybody read the Bible. If I could, I would just, like I mean, John was on the way up here earlier. We would just grab us a water hose if it was a way we could pour it into them, we just shove it into them and make it. Waterborg.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03We would make them do it. But there's not a way to do it. They have to have that want to they get some people have to get fed up. Some people have to have, you know, things happen in their life. Right. Some things like you. Some people want to change, you know, like myself. You know, I I'm not comfortable where I'm at. I'm I'm I want more. And you know, you have to want it. I would recommend, and I know this one's gonna really stretch them on the podcast. I would recommend fasting and praying and reading the Bible. That stretches a lot of people. People don't want to hear about fasting and praying. But if you have something you're saying, I've been needing, I've been wanting, you were talking about in the church something? Yeah. Have you fasted? Have you prayed? Because fasting is gonna bring that body down to its lowest point. Yeah. And when you bring that body down, and this is the only thing you're feeding it, you ain't eating no uh you're not eating no tacos, no Oreos, no Oreos, no Pepsi Cola. You you take all the food away, and the only thing you get is this Bible.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I I grew the most, and I I've Been doing this for years, praying fasting at the beginning of the year. But I'm telling you, this year, I grew the most during my 21 days of prayer and fasting that I've ever grown in my whole entire time of praying and fasting. Because the more you get into it and and fast and pray, and there's days during the week that I don't eat, that I spend so many tires, you know, like I don't eat nothing all day long. And you and and just t take that time to it, because I can't just sit always sit in the side of a room and just pray and fast. I have to I have a job, I have a church, I have things to do. But there's certain times that you take that out, and you will find as you draw closer to God, you get to you He supplies everything. I mean it really does.
SPEAKER_00I I I can't explain it any better than that, because I mean that's I feel over the the fasting too that God God wants to see us being able to give up something.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00And if we if he sees us willing to lay down our say our most our heart's most desire, like if I wanted to eat if I was eating ribis every day. If I can give up them ribis every day, then he'll he'll meet my needs.
SPEAKER_03And and then to me, that's what fasting Well, a lot of times when they called in the Bible, that you know, they were facing this great army. I I ain't got the scripture right now, but they were facing this great army, and they called the whole place for a fast and prayer, and then guess what? They don't think they did was start us singing, this goes back to your words, singing and praising God, and then the armies turned upon themselves and killed themselves. And uh so you know, when I if I was talking to somebody, viewers something like that, I would one dive into this word, find out what all it has to say. Like they said, you got AI, you got all this different kind, Google everything else that you can find out what a word says. And I would also start having a prayer time and fasting time with God. The more you spend time with God, you'll get to understand what you're believing for, you know.
SPEAKER_00So we can make a whole podcast on fasting and prayer. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I I know the power of it. I've been doing it a lot, and I've been pushing more and more for it because I was like, well, if you can do that in 21 days, I'm gonna keep on, you know.
SPEAKER_00I want more. And so Well, another thing too, people might want to know too, is like when you fast. I mean, like me, I try to do I I used to be devil or bust, I'm gonna eat three meals a day. Yeah. Devil or bust. And now, yeah, sometimes I just eat one. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, they had that in J I think it was it, was it instant at Judges? They had a the from six o'clock in the morning till six o'clock in the evening.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think it's in Judges. And they had a fast from six o'clock in the morning to six o'clock in the evening.
SPEAKER_00I just I I'll sinners.
SPEAKER_03And uh but that's a that's a form of fasting, and that's a biblical fast. There's a Daniel fast, there's plenty of different fastes. You know, I've done the Daniel fast several times.
SPEAKER_00Ezra 823, so we fasted and entreated our God for this, and he answered our prayer.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh. Slap it down one time.
SPEAKER_01That'll make you slap your knee one good time on it. It's denying yourself. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. Denying the flesh. I mean, and that and that's we that's what I'm saying. Giving up. Yeah, we won't have to do a whole podcast on this.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we can do a whole podcast on fasting and prayer. Comment if you'd like for us to do one. Yeah. We'll get some comments out of it. So I but negative or positive, I don't care. We love them all. So there's people that, you know, come to church and I mean, even church people, non-church, anybody. I'm talking to you, but I'm depressed, I'm anxious, I'm addicted, I'm broken. They, you know, you need to be careful who you identify with. Right. I'm telling you, how who are you identifying as? Who are you calling yourself? The Bible never says you to be weak. It says I am strong. That's right. It doesn't say that I am weak. It says let the weak say I'm strong. You have to be able to speak to the thing and start denying what it is. Paul and Silas changed their atmosphere in Acts 16. You know, they didn't complain, they saying praises to God. When they released a sound in the middle of suffering, suddenly an earthquake came. You know, that's the thing. You gotta speak into it. Speak into your children's life. I have percussion, me and my son and daughter, every night. I go in there to and I lay hands and I say, You I said, You're strong. And they'll say, I'm strong. I'm brave. I'm brave. You're courageous, you're smart. And I and I say these things. I quote Psalms 23 with them. We read the whole entire Psalms 23.
SPEAKER_00I was getting I was getting ready to say, Growing up, my mother's mother, my grandmother, re recited the 23rd Psalm and made us recite it every night before we went to bed until we knew it by heart.
SPEAKER_03He does it every night. He does it. My son does it, my daughter, she's trying to get it. But he does it every night. And he and he'll sit there and start telling. And and I pray with him, and I quote all these things. I said, and and God has a purpose in your life, and he's gonna fulfill it. And he says, and God will have a purpose in my life and fulfill it. And and I and I sit there and say, and then we he starts praying, and he'll say, he prays like me. He says, I thank you right now, God. And I I get so tickled because that's how I pray. I say, Thank you right now, God, for this and this. And he'll he'll start praying now. But that's how you do your children. Yep. You start taking them, and now before we go to bed, he's going around, he's got to go pray with mama, he's got to go pray with me, he's gotta pray for his sister, he's gotta pray for everybody, and I thank you, God, right now. And he'll be almost yelling at, I thank you, God, right now that you take care of my sister, and you and you make her strong and you make her brave. And that's how you do your children. You don't cut in and say, you know, they have a learning disability. Well, you ain't gonna never amount to nothing. Yeah, you never amount to nothing. You they have and see, some people will get a bad report card at school that their kids can't learn something or something like that, and then they'll come in, well, you you know what the report card says. I don't care what the report card says. That's right. My child, and I get to start quoting what this says. Everything I'm telling you today, I'm gonna keep going back to this Bible, and I'm gonna keep on telling you, you have to say what it says. It doesn't matter what the script, it doesn't matter what the school says about your children, it doesn't matter what everybody else is saying about your children, you gotta say this about them. You have to read this over them. That's right. The same thing about your marriage. You can come in, we always fight and argue, or you can say, Lord, you binded this marriage up together. You're the one that officiated it, you're the one that ties the knot, and you says, when you tie it, then nobody can take it apart. And Lord, I thank you that you brought us together and you're gonna keep us together. And Lord, you just start quoting things like that and start quoting the Bible over it and watch it. Same thing over your health, you know, sparking room.
SPEAKER_00There's verses that you can quote over everything in your life yourself, your health, your marriage, your house, your finances, your children.
SPEAKER_03How did you find that out, Ray?
SPEAKER_00I read the Bible.
SPEAKER_03All right, so we're getting to the same point. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. How did you because I could have asked Ray this three years ago, three or four years ago, and he would have been like, I don't know nothing about that.
SPEAKER_01I mean, he would have known some. And probably would have told you he didn't really care.
SPEAKER_03He didn't know a lot about I mean he I'm not saying Ray was that far gone about it. He was never that far gone.
SPEAKER_00He wasn't that far. I mean, like I was.
SPEAKER_03But he didn't know, he did not know as much as he didn't know. I can tell you that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I couldn't have quoted stuff like I quoted now, but I did read the Bible some here, verse here and there. Yeah, I was I spent a week with him out in Kansas. I had my blinders on. I wanted hunting dogs, I wanted guns, I wanted hurleys, I wanted trucks, and I wanted all this stuff. Yeah. The wants. I won't, I won't, I won't, I won't. Yeah. But nah. Yeah. My supplier has given me everything I need. Yeah. And now John tells me we gotta quit using that word. He just wants to.
SPEAKER_01Nah, I said no, he told me to quit.
SPEAKER_03But now but now your desire is now your desire though is to get people out to reach people for the gospel. That's right. Your whole your whole desires, I use the word desires a lot now. Since I try not to use want or need. I use the word desire. You know, when that somebody says something, I desire that. Because that's a Bible word. You can't say I can't use that's a desire word. They look at me like, what do you I desire it. I desire that. Yeah, I desire that. I desire to use your pen. What do you think about that?
SPEAKER_00What do you think about that new overnunner shotgun? I desire that. I desire that. Yes awesome.
SPEAKER_01Uh James chapter three, verse four. Behold also the ships, which though they be great, yet are they turned about with a very small helm. Yep. You hadn't I'm gonna let you read the rest of it.
SPEAKER_00I had five and six there. Look also at ships. Although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder whenever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. Mm-hmm. You know, James compares the tongue to a small spark that can have enormous effects on a person's life and relationships. Yeah. Just like the rudder on a ship. If you want things to change, the smallest parts of the boat. That's right. If you want something to change, you have to grab that rudder and turn that direction. From your thoughts in your head every day when you wake up to your desires of your heart, everything.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. You just start declaring things over your life. You want it to change? Speak to your finances. Call the money in. You have them power over money, and people don't like me talking about money. Well, get over it. It's all in the Bible. Because I've read it. You can speak to the money and tell it, come in. Come in. I command you to come to me and because I need it for this to do this. I need or not need, I desire. I desire to do these things in the ministry. I do. So there's things that I desire to be used and do. I'm working on it, guys.
SPEAKER_00Don't laugh at me because I'm I'm laughing at me because y'all are gonna have to tighten me up. Me and you're talking over now had John on the camera. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03I thought y'all were laughing at me. I was like, I was laughing at myself. I thought that was.
SPEAKER_01He's trying to share the camera with me sometimes.
SPEAKER_03We were having a good conversation. That's all right. You can declare like revival's coming to my house. God is restoring my family. The favor of God surrounds me. My children will carry the fire of God. The blessings of the Lord is on my life. I will fulfill the call of the Lord. This is all things that's in the Bible.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03I can find you scriptures with me. I'm just giving it simpler to you to say it. And you can say these positive things that's in the Bible and watch them happen in your life. You know, you're never wrong. I'm gonna go back to it. You're never wrong when you quote God's word.
SPEAKER_01That's right. What was Joshua told in Joshua 1.8? This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth. Keep the word in your mouth. Keep the word in your mouth. That's right. I mean, that I many times we've said this tonight. Keep God's word in your mouth. You're not wrong when you quote God. That's right. You can't be. His word won't return void.
SPEAKER_00We've said it a hundred times. Those scriptures were given to us as a guidebook for life. I mean, that is the instruction book. If you don't read the instructions, how do you know what you're supposed to do?
SPEAKER_01Therefore, I said before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Choose light.
SPEAKER_00Yep, choose life.
SPEAKER_01Choose light.
SPEAKER_00And go ahead and put a positive thought in our heads right from the get-go. And if if you're one of them people that does not think you can do that, you need to get in that Bible right here. Get in that book and read it and see. And I promise you, your life and your outcome will change.
SPEAKER_01I tell you what, I'll even challenge 30 days. Yeah. Take a 30-day challenge. Stop speaking. Stop speaking defeat. Stop speaking fear. Stop speaking lack. Stop speaking failure. Stop speaking all negativity and start quoting God. Get you a positive outlook. And you won't ever go back. Man, you won't. Because your life will change for the better.
SPEAKER_04It will.
SPEAKER_01I mean, and it won't take 30 days. It won't. You'll be seven days in and be like, Man, I like the person I see going out. Man, it feels so good. I mean, it does. It's like a burden to lift it off. It will.
SPEAKER_00So that's a goddamn truth.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Take that challenge and go with it. The uh you know, you were talking about somebody that has something that like a miracle that they're believing for. You gotta realize you're only one prayer away, one declaration away, one moment of faith away. Look at Blind Bark of Mayus. He was a miracle was when he cried out. Cried out to Jesus. He had to speak though.
SPEAKER_00He had to speak it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he had to speak it. And even when they were telling him, Shut up. Shut up. So you're gonna have people around, mm-hmm that's good, John. You're gonna have people all the time telling you to be quiet. Shut up. Why you talk like that? Why don't you tell them? You just cry out louder. I mean, he didn't he didn't quiet down, he cried out louder. He got louder.
SPEAKER_01He's a son of David. Have mercy on me.
SPEAKER_03And it got louder. He got so full of it that I'm emotional. Yeah, I'm gonna, I need this. Thank you, God. I I'm receiving it. So that's what he was doing. He cried out. Look at the woman with the issue of blood. She said, if I can just touch the garment. She said that. She said it. If I can just touch the hem of his garment, they made hope. She's like, if I before she ever went to it, she's like, if I can just touch it, I'm gonna be healed. I'm getting my healing today.
unknownThat's right.
SPEAKER_03So you know, you gotta understand you're only one declaration away. You were talking about if somebody was want, you know, needed something or wanted something and they had got it, you gotta start recoting that Bible, saying what it says, and start saying, Lord, I just thank you that I'm I'm fixing a habit.
SPEAKER_00So thank you for those blessings and we're about to receive.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So, you know, that carries into your words are creating your future. Like you said. This is the title of this whole podcast. Your words are creating your future. Your future. You have to take authority over your words. Like John's saying, take authority, a 30-day challenge of taking authority over your words. Don't let your words take authority over your life. Because that's what people do. They let their words, negative words, take authority over their life. When you can turn it around and use these words, not just your words in your head, but these words.
SPEAKER_01What if your words is a seed? Yeah. You're planting that seed. Well, what you plant is what you're gonna get a harvest on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what you reap, you sow. Or what you sow, you reap.
SPEAKER_01You plant good words and you'll have a good harvest. You'll have a good future. Yeah, absolutely. Plant differently.
SPEAKER_00Well, Proverbs chapter twelve, verse eighteen. There's one who speaks like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of a of the wise promotes health and well being.
SPEAKER_01You got people to say one thing in one instance, and then two minutes later they're they're they're contradicting their words, and it says, Let that man not be deceived. He won't receive anything from God.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they're talking about being deceived in Proverbs 12 19, the truthful lip shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Oh boy, he's digging, he done found something.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, getting into the word again. So this is going into the book of Joshua. I'm ahead of there. Takes me a second, but I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_00No, go ahead, because I was sitting there getting looking up stuff and forgot to switch the camera again.
SPEAKER_03Now Joshua commanded his people, saying, You shall not shout nor make any noise with your mouth with your voice, and nor shall any words proceed out of your mouth until the day I say shout. Then you shall shout. So what did he why did he say that?
SPEAKER_01Because the because of what they had been saying before.
SPEAKER_03That's exactly right. Shut up. That's that's what this was the whole scripture that I was talking to you about. Shut your mouth. This is why, because he had dealt with these people causing him not because they went into the land. And what does it say? Pull up the scripture about the grasshopper. I don't think there's but a couple of scriptures of grasshoppers. Look at what these people said. Um I think it's in Numbers 13. Can if you get it up, just read it out for me. Numbers what?
SPEAKER_01Pulling it up now. Uh Numbers thirteen and thirty-three. And we and there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants, and we were in our own sights as grasshoppers. And so we were in their sight. They saw their selves as grasshoppers.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and what did they say though? They said this out loud. They said this instead of speaking what God had promised them.
SPEAKER_01God had speaking to promise, they spoke to the situation.
SPEAKER_03God says, I'm gonna give you a promised land. Instead, they said, Caleb tried to quiet the people, let us go up at once and take possession. Verse 30. For we are well able to overcome it. But the men who came up against us with him, we're not we're not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are. See, that's why he told them, Shut up. Don't you say a daggone word?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they're speaking negativity of that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's the reason he that he was like, This time I ain't letting none of you talk. You hush. You hush. You ain't gotta worry about God this time, you gotta worry about Josh. Shut up your mouth. Don't say anything. I'm tired of hearing it. Yeah, because it think about it, it cost him time because Caleb and them had already said, hey, we're we're able to go up at once.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03They're like, we're able to go up at once and take the land. Let's go up and possess it, and we'll overcome it. But no, we we're not able to go up against them, for they're stronger than we have.
SPEAKER_01And they had just been brought across the Red Sea on dry ground. They had just seen water come from the rock, they had just been fed manna and quail. Look at all of the things they had just seen and God kept providing and kept providing and kept providing. And yet when they get there, they're like, We can't.
SPEAKER_03We can't. And they complained about the food they had. They complained about it until God got so fed up with them that he called they're like, Well, we did we had cucumbers, we had this to eat, at least in Egypt, and like this, and then we want some meat. And you know what God did? He sent quail up from the sea.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_03We're quail hunters, all three of us are.
SPEAKER_01I forgot how many miles they said it was. One mile this way, one day's walk this way. One day's walk this way, one day's walking. One day's walk that way. Three foot deep. Three foot deep, Ray. Yep. Even the even the man, even the what laziest man they said gathered a pickup truck load. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03The laziest man out of the bunch gathered up a full-size pickup truck load of quail. Quail. Three foot, that's a lot of quail.
SPEAKER_00That's a lot of birds, buddy.
SPEAKER_03Why don't you want to be on cleaning duty?
SPEAKER_00Oh, cash be had cash out of A day, wouldn't he?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we'd have lost his mind. That's what I was thinking. I'm like, we're all quail hunters. So that resented to me a lot. You know, think about it.
SPEAKER_01Quail don't come up out of the sea to sea.
SPEAKER_03They don't come out of the sea. God gave them up. And Gax got so tired of listening to these complain people complain, he was ready to go with us.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna start over with you.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna I'm gonna take all these all these people out, I'm gonna start over with you, because I'm tired of listening to them.
SPEAKER_01And you know what? All of them that said that that they would die in the wilderness, that that they couldn't possess the land, they indeed died in the wilderness. They had to wait till all of that doubt died out, and Joshua and Caleb are the only ones out of them. Matter of fact, Joshua and Caleb are the only ones that you know their names.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Out of the ten. Or out yeah, out of the spies.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01The other ten you don't know their name. Out of the twelve spies.
SPEAKER_00You know, hearing that kind of story, dude, it just makes me feel I'm glad we do have a merciful God. Yeah. And a for a forgiving God. Because, you know, a lot of people think, well, we've talked this before, I'm trying to not try to get off topic, but we've we try not to preach a hellfire brimstone, because that's what a lot of people have heard, and it's turned them against Christian religion. But if you look back in the old testament, I mean, God, every time every every group of people God tried to lead, when they would start turning away from him, he would bring them back and accept them back.
SPEAKER_03I mean, look at the prodigal son. Yeah. The story of the prodigal son. Jesus told this story. Yep. I mean, that ought to give you some hope there. Paul, I mean, they took off and the prodigal son went and got his inheritance, got the goods of God.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_03How many times you see that in church? People get what they want. They, like you said, whatever want, what they need, and they get the goods, and then they leave and go squander it. Yep. And then the dad didn't, you know, Father God didn't say, Well, well, I don't want them back now, nay. That ain't gave you inheritance. Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I've done that most of my life. As long as I had everything I wanted, yeah, I was happy. And every time I called them, God's when I needed something.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I went for customer service, as I like to see.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that one for customer service. Use a lot of people use them for like ambulance. Like uh I call like I need help. Some help me now, please help now. Emergency, help me now, kind of situation. Situations. But who was it? The prophet that they had famine on the land and they were eating pigeon dung. And I know they ain't many times in the Bible it's pigeon dung, so I know that's a bird you can look up and find out. Help me find it. But if you can help me find that, I wanted to point out one more pro one. I know we're we're going on this for a little bit, but Kings, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Kings what?
SPEAKER_03I see Kings 6, 2 Kings. Second Kings, yep.
SPEAKER_00Chapter 6, verse 25.
SPEAKER_03Hey, I'm right there at it.
SPEAKER_00And there was a great famine in Samaria, and indeed they besieged it into a donkey's head was sold for eighty shekels of silver.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's where I'm at.
SPEAKER_00And one fourth of a cab of dove droppings for five shekels of silver. That's the one that gave me when I looked up pigeons.
SPEAKER_03That's that's just to get me to where I'm headed to. Okay, let's go where's it at? I'm looking for the part where the uh where the gatekeeper was watching over the gate, and uh no, it's the king's servants that told him that uh he said that you wouldn't see that this couldn't happen even if uh even if God did it. I mean, even if Okay, right here it is. Then Elijah says, Hear the words of the Lord, thus saith the Lord, Tomorrow about this time a sheath of flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two sheefs two sheets of barley be sold for a shekel, and the gate of Samaria, who so an offer who whose hand of the king learned also that answered the man of God, saying, Look, if the Lord would make the windows of heaven, how could this be? And he said, In fact, you will see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it. Now, so look, this is what he said. He said, Ye you're gonna see this, you're gonna hear about this thing, but you'll you will not eat of it. He says the man spoke out of his mouth against the prophet. Well, we get on to it. Get on to it a little bit further. Now, if you read on into it, get it. These guys, there was three lepers sitting out by the gate, they decided, hey, we're either gonna die here or go over there and die in this camp that's surrounding us. That's that rate. Seven. Yeah, well, I started out in seven, verse one, and then I read to like I read to three. Yeah. And then the four leper men was at the entrance of the gate, and they said, We're we're sitting here until we die. If we stay here, we'll we can we'll enter the city or famine in the city, or shall we go over there and die? So they were like, We're gonna die here or die over there. We might as well go see if the enemy will have mercy on us and give us something to eat.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what is it? If we sit here, we die also.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So Now come now, therefore, come let us surrender to the army of the Syrian Syrians. If they keep us alive, we shall live, and if they kill us, we shall only die.
SPEAKER_03So then he goes on in there, and they went over there to then the people, I think we're looking at okay, now verse 17. Now the king appointed the officer. So they went over there, and as they walked over there, God gave a mighty miracle. If you haven't read this whole chapter, I'm gonna I'm not gonna read a whole chapter to you, Lanon, for the sake of time. But they start walking across there, their feet start sound like a mighty army. The other army gets scattered and runs off. These guys get to eat all they want, like an all-you can eat buffet over there. They get all the good stuff, and then they go back to the city and tell what's going on. Now, verse 17. Now that I'm catching you up to where I'm at now. They've caught went back to the city. Now the king has appointed an officer whose hand he had took a charge of the gate. But the people triumph trampled him at the gate, and he died just as the man of God said, who spoke the king came down to him. So he died just as the prophet said, because he spoke against the prophet. When you start spoking, speaking against God's word, it will cause death to come on your life.
SPEAKER_00That's right.
SPEAKER_03People don't like to hear that. Yep. People don't want to hear, well, this will happen to you. Well, why did some why did this happen? Well, when you start speaking against this and you start claiming the problem versus what the Bible says, I can give you example. Example after this just popped to my mind that you know when you speak against this, this is what happens. Death comes upon you because you've shortened your life up. Because you we don't know how to this and this. If you ain't got nothing good to say, shut your mouth. That's right. That's what people say all the time.
SPEAKER_00You know what Mama always said? Can't you say something good about somebody? Don't say, guys, yeah, this has been a good one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we went an iron 21 minutes on this one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, look, we got you got me fired up, and I didn't I it wasn't my cog, I know. Hey, that's fine. I get excited about this because I see so many people living a defeated life.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03And it really, really, really, really bothers me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, because it's it's all in the they've got it in their head that that's the way they're supposed to be. Or just because they grew up in it. Yep. I mean, that's balloony.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they'll say things like I should just die, I ain't got no reason to live. They'll say things like that, and I'm like, Right. This is the problem. They they haven't got into this word and read it. Sunday morning, I'm fixing to hit you again. I thought I was gonna quit. Sunday morning, Wednesday night, and just listen to this podcast is not enough. Nope. No, if this is all you're getting, you're not getting enough. It's good, it's it's a great thing. I I listen to the podcast, I go to church on Sunday morning, I go to Wednesday night, but that's not enough. No. If you don't have this personal relationship with God and getting his word, you will feel like you're defeated. I have been there. We me, Ray, John, Quinn, we have all been there. We've gave you our testimonies on here. We've poured out our hearts, we've showed you where we came from and to where we're at today. And if that don't give you no better example of what this will do when you start getting into this, how much has changed us? I mean, a lot of people know me from my past, and this is what changed me was this. They're like, how do you have the boldness to go up there and preach? Because, you know, when you first knew me, I uh, you know, you still know me. I'm not at I'm a quieter kind of person outside outside of church and outside of talking about the Bible. Yeah, I don't talk a lot.
unknownThat's right.
SPEAKER_03I don't like the spot a lot, I don't like large crowds, I don't like getting around things like that. That's not me. But when I get this on the inside of me, there's boldness and courageousness, and I I can tell you 100 miles of a minute, just like I'm doing that, I can get so fired up because it's this what gets me going. That's right. This is what does that, this is what gives you that boldness, this is what does all that is the Bible. And that's how you have it through kidding to learn this, that you can quote these scriptures out of your life. Because there's gonna be some times that you don't have the strength. Sometimes I've been, I don't get like this anymore, but I have been so sick that I couldn't get up to go to my prayer room. And I've been in the bed. Now, this ain't been recent because I've got I've got as you grow in Christ, I'm no longer drinking milk, I eat I eat rib eyes now. Eat rib eyes. Yeah, that's what I say. I'm eating solid food now. But when I started, I was so into this word that you know I I had let sickness come on me and stuff like that, but I didn't, but if you don't have it in your head up here to quote these scriptures, it's good to have a library, like I said, of it of scriptures. So all right, so yeah, you know, quoting the word, confessing the word over your life. You know, you have to have faith to speak into it, speak into the mountains. You say, I have faith, for you believe that there is one God, good for you. Even the demons believe that and tremble in terror. That's James 2.19. But it's one thing to believe it and then confess it. You have to speak out to it. It's not just believing. If you confess that with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has risen him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with his mouth a confession is made with salvation. So it's all about confessing your with your mouth. You have to be able to say these. John covered this earlier, you know, talking about your words, you'll be justified. You know, you it's you know, you have to use the word of God to take out these situations in your life. Using the word. Your words is is near to you and in your mouth and will be in your heart. Romans 10 8. Your words have to be completely, continuously coming out of your mouth, and it needs to be the word of the Bible, not just your words. Sorry about the words.
SPEAKER_00Your words need to be God's words. Our water angle camera died. I had to plug the some reason it's it's on a big battery, so I don't know why it just died to cut off, but I guess the camera's outrunning what the battery can charge. So before it cuts off again, we're gonna end this podcast on a good note. Yeah. And I gotta go back and find a Bible verse I had pulled up. I was gonna read last. I know it was in Proverbs. 12, 18. It was in Psalms. It was in Psalms. Yeah, Psalms. Chapter Psalms 51, verse 10. I'm gonna read this Bible verse, and then we're gonna have John Paul close us out with a word of prayer for our camera dots again. Verse 10. Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. That ought to be something you ought to wake up and say to yourself every day. Say that in your prayers. With that being said, and you've been listening to the Testament of Faith podcast. Um, we hope you enjoyed it. If you do, go like us on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, go subscribe. We got a goal right now. We're trying to get it to 500 subscribers. We're currently at 261, so we're not that far to go. We don't that we need that many to make it. So let's help us get there. If you don't know how, just leave me a comment and I'll explain it to you. It's not that hard. So with that being said, John Paul, we leave us out in the word of prayer.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Lord, we thank you that we have authority in the words, and that our words, when we use them in the right direction, they create a good future for us. So, Lord, we thank you that you give us a lot of words and scriptures that we can quote over our lives. Lord, we thank you that this reaches our viewers and it helps them grow in you, God. And we thank you today for it. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
SPEAKER_00Amen. God bless y'all. Have a great week. Remember, Jesus loves you, and so do we.
