In the fast-paced world we live in, many find themselves struggling with spiritual well-being. How can we feed our spirit, renew our minds, and walk closely with God? In this post, we’ll share insights from a heartfelt testimony by Daniel B. Bell of Stump Hill Forum Kennels, exploring the importance of spiritual nourishment and the journey toward a fulfilling spiritual life.

Spiritual well-being refers to the state of having a healthy relationship with oneself, others, and a higher power. It encompasses finding purpose, inner peace, and joy in life. Daniel's journey illustrates that spiritual well-being is not just about belief; it's about action and commitment.

Welcome to the Testament of Faith Podcast. I'm Ray Bratchall, and joining me today again is John Paul Murphy and John Quinn with Word of Faith Ministries. And today we have a special guest. We have Mr. Daniel B. Bell from Stump Hill Forum Kennels out of Keenansville, North Carolina, also, and he's joining us to give his testimony today. We're going to have a good time and talk about the good Lord Jesus Christ. And today's topic after Daniel's testimony is going to be spiritual well being, feeding the spirit, renewing the mind, and walking with God. Start with I want to read Psalms one, verse two and three. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of ungod of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seed at the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its seasons. Man, that one I like that one. You really stick with God and worship him every day, then he will give you in return your heart's desires. With that being said, I'm gonna turn it over to Daniel. Daniel, welcome to the Testaments of Faith Podcast.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you, sir. Glad to be here.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, glad to have you.

SPEAKER_04

So uh I grew up in church. Uh my father was a fundamental independent free will Baptist minister. Um about 16 I got in a really bad wreck. Um everybody kept telling me there must be something in your life, you know, you you must have some kind of calling or something because it should have took you out. Like when I say it was a bad wreck, my window was down. I got the only time I ever wore a seatbelt, I got thrown out of the truck and the seatbelt snatched me back in. I was out of the window. Could see it outside the truck. Pull back in. Yeah. So the only bruise I had on my whole body, it was a four-wheeler battery and the floorboard on the passenger side. It came up and hit me right there in the chest. That was it. Now I felt like I was on fire because the battery acid hit me. Right. I mean, I was so strong then that eight at 16, you know, playing football and stuff, it just shattered when it hit me. So but um fast forward a little bit and I felt like you know, I had a column, but I was kind of running from it. Um didn't really didn't really want to some of the things um I had dreams and visions and some of them were rough. So we'll back up one more time. So when my grandpa died, um kind of had to do math, but I was like 10 or 12 years old. When we walked into the funeral home, I fell to pieces because I saw his funeral weeks before he died. And at that age, I didn't understand what I was seeing. I didn't understand anything like that. And uh whenever we walked in, it was just like, you know, I love this man. You know, I looked up to this man, but maybe I could have done something to change it. So I met my wife, um, started rededicating myself and got off the drugs and alcohol and uh all the stuff that goes along with running. And things started lining up. Um I started doing a little bit of preaching. Uh the first time I preached, I was eight. The next time I was twelve. And then that was it because I started running. When I started feeling the the pull, I tried to run from it as hard as I could. But I think a lot of people who come from religious families kind of feel that pull and try to run just because they grew up in it. And maybe they don't feel like it's the best thing for them. Right. So I start doing better, things start getting better, and then life starts happening, and you know, my prayer life suffered, and my spiritual man suffered because I let my prayer life suffer. When I let my prayer life suffer, I opened the door for the devil to put the stumbling blocks in front of me. Well, I was an alcoholic by the time I was 18. I got off alcohol when I met Christy and I got back in it again. I don't know how much these guys know, but we're together all the time. But I got back on the bottle pretty heavy, like three, four fifths a week. Like, I mean, I was seriously throwing the brown juice down. And uh I started missing the feeling and the voice and the communication that I used to have. And this is a sermon, by the way, coming up when I get done with it. The devil has counterfeits. So alcohol is a devil's counterfeit. The Bible says to be of sober mind. So, and yeah, or that means you drink. No, well, drugs can make you not sober too. So something happened, and I stopped drinking, and while I had had stopped drinking, and notice I didn't say I quit. I learned that from my daddy when I was smoking, and he told me I needed to quit, and I stopped for a little while, and I said, Well, Daddy, I quit. And two weeks later you saw me smoking. He said, I thought you said you quit. Well, I guess you just stopped. It's a difference. So I started praying. I started and I started hearing the that still small voice again. And it really started lighting my fire again. I'm like, you know, I've I've missed this and I've I've while I was running, I was chasing what I ran from. So I quit. Done. Cold turkey ain't had a drop in a while. And that's why. Because I miss the voice and the pull and the touch. So now I I go to bed at night, I'm I'm praying, I'm reading my Bible and studying as much as I can. The more I study, the more I want. The more I read, the more I won't, the better I feel, the more he talks to me, the better I feel. So that's kind of how we got where we are now. So and my wife is a very smart and wise woman. She really is. I told her the same thing the other day that I'm telling y'all, she knew first. And she said, and she probably won't watch this, so I can say what she said. She said, I told you so. And I'm thinking, Toby, why? She said, I told you. She said, I told you that you were missing this. She's a wise woman. But you couldn't hear me, you had to figure it out in your own time. Also a wise woman for not trying to beat it into me. And she was right. I I was running from what I need. And, you know, we're gonna transition to spiritual well-being. And there's your segue in the spiritual well-being. I went from running from it to trying to do what I was supposed to do to trying to run again just as hard as I could to being like, you know, I wasn't happy the whole time I was running. You know, the bottom of the bottle didn't show me nothing but trouble. Right. You know, nothing but upset. And, you know, it didn't matter if it was a snort or a quart, it was wrong. Yeah. So I said, I'm done. I I feel better, I'm happier, and you know, it's the breakthrough I needed, and just I think that's a perfect segue into what we're talking about. You didn't you didn't know my testimony.

SPEAKER_05

I didn't. That's the first time I've heard it.

SPEAKER_04

And when John Paul told me that we were going to talk about spiritual well-being after my testimony, I'm like, well, guess what? This is gonna roll perfectly.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that works out, that worked out good.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, because I was the same way. You're talking about being sober, it don't matter if you're doing drugs, spending money, drinking. I was the same way with money. And my wife was in there trying to beat it in me too. I mean, just telling me you you need to quit doing that. You're not doing what you're supposed to be doing. And that was me, that that was my eye was just buying things.

SPEAKER_06

It's crazy. Well, you know, I like what you said about the spiritual or the devil's counterfeit. I like that. He uh, you know, and and his biggest thing is, well, just one drink won't hurt you. Mm-hmm. Just one won't hurt you. Then one leads to two. The next thing you know You're four fifths a week. You're you're you're you you're back into drinking just like you were before. I mean, he he he's done the same thing to me, and uh I I'm you know, uh like you said, you had I you stop, but at some point in time you have to make up your mind. I quit. And the best way to quit something, in case anybody's wondering, the best way to quit, my granddaddy always said was just don't do it no more. That's right. I asked granddaddy, they said, I quit smoking, you can quit too. I'm like, all right, well, how do you how do you do it? You just don't do it no more.

SPEAKER_04

I'm living proof you can quit smoking, quit dipping, quit drinking cold turkey.

SPEAKER_05

I've done the same thing. I quit smoking cold turkey, I quit dipping, drinking. It didn't matter, I'm done. Quit. Yeah, I have no desire for it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, no. Be sober, yeah, yeah. Be diligent.

SPEAKER_04

So while I'm while I'm praying and in the Bible and studying, I'm happy.

SPEAKER_06

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah that's that's one of the gifts being happy because of being in the Lord. Right. When I was drinking, I wasn't, I was angry. Right. There's yet another counterfeit. You got happy for angry.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. You know, as far as that that draw, I'd probably say for the last up to my wreck for 10 years before that, every time I passed that Scotchman down there, I'd want to pull her in and get a can of dip. I mean, that's how bad that was drawing me to it. But I wouldn't do it, I fought that urge. But ever since my wreck and turning back to the Lord, I don't have that urge no more. Don't even think about it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Or you know nobody wouldn't know if you just slipped in there and done it. That that's what he done with Eve.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, that's what he does. He's a liar.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I've tried to hide it from that one in that house right there for a long time. She knew what I was doing. Right. She ain't crazy. That's a good one.

SPEAKER_07

What it what what we got? Yeah, I mean, just going off to what he said, you know, talking about the, you know, trading out the Psalm 16, 11, you will show me paths of life in your presence, fullness of joy, and at your right hand's pleasures forevermore. Talking about, you know, talking about what spiritual well-being is, you know, you can have the greatest joy more than when I had the eyes, more than when I was going to parties, more than when I was doing all the things the world, I have a greater joy now because the joy lasts. It's not a feeling no more. It's a joy. It's a joy that you get on the inside. I'm happy. You know, things of the world don't affect me. Like, you know, when things tear up and and things that, you know, I used to with, I mean, throwing tools mad and getting ill, and I I had a temper for days. I'm just like, well, it is what it is, you know. Think about it anyhow. You know, I'm I got joy, and I'm not letting things of the world take my joy away. Right, that's right. I don't let, I don't give authority to somebody to come in and take my joy, whether it's a person or a thing or anything, they do not have the right to take your joy away.

SPEAKER_06

You're not allowing flesh to take something eternal, something temporary to take something eternal.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, because people will try to steal your joy. Oh, yeah. People will. Misery loves company. And yeah, misery loves company. Uh hurting people love to hurt people. Yeah. If they're hurting, they love to hurt other people. They can't stand it. They're hurting, they want to hurt other people.

SPEAKER_06

So um that spreads faster than joy a lot of the time because people just they want they want you to be like them.

SPEAKER_04

And I'm like, Well, it's like the news. That's right. Good news travels very, very, very, did I say very slowly. Yeah. Yeah. But if something bad happens and there's bad news here before you get Enensville, that's right.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, somebody heard about it. You already got it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so oh, when I first started nursing, I had uh I got really mad. You want to talk about a temper, my and my blood pressure is very volatile. I got really mad, and we won't go into why I got mad. My blood pressure went through the roof. And they looked at me and said, Are you feeling okay? I said, I feel great. They said, We need to check your vital signs. I'm like, I'm good. So they checked my vital signs, it was my blood pressure was top. So they said, if it don't come down in 15 minutes, you gotta go to the ER and sign in, because we're like, we'll let you stay up here and have a stroke. I mean, I won't, but math again, like 30 years old. I mean, I want old enough for a stroke, of course. I know you can have a stroke any age. Anyways, so they sent me to the ER, and and the more the matter I got, the higher my blood pressure got. I mean, it was just I get a call from a friend. He's like, Man, are you okay? I'm like, Yeah, why? Somebody said you had a stroke. Three people knew I was in the hospital. Three.

SPEAKER_05

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_04

And it made it home to somebody else that wasn't even affiliated with my family.

SPEAKER_05

Just that quick.

SPEAKER_04

That quick.

SPEAKER_05

That all leads me into Romans twelve here. Well, we were just talking about all of us talking about being on drugs and alcohol and stuff. Romans twelve verse two, and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Tells us in a nutshell, don't be worldly. Don't chase worldly things. I mean, that's what I was doing. And even drinking, smoking, dipping, drugs, all that's worldly. It's habits of the devil. The devil's getting you to do it. And when we get into this world, we build spiritual strength to be able to fight that kind of stuff. Yeah. And get it out of our systems.

SPEAKER_07

So, you know, looking at the wording in here, it says, do not be conformed to this world, but be transferred by the renewing of your mind. Right. You gotta renew your mind. That's right. That's your part. God'll do his part, but you gotta take time and start retraining your brain and saying there's things I'm not gonna think upon, there's things I'm not gonna do. Because God will give you these things that we're talking about, the joy of the Lord and things like that. But there's also this things that thoughts that try to come and jump on you from the devil coming in to try to find it. You've got to train your mind by the renewing through what? I'm gonna do it like we did last week. That word up there. That Bible up there is how you renew it, how you get in it, because you start learning the Bible. You learn what it says, and then you're in the renewedness of what the word says because there's you know that that you may prove what is good and acceptable in the perfect will of God. Well, how do you know what the will of God is? The way you know what the will of God is is that right there. Leading back to that right there, that Bible that's laying up here in the center of all of us, that Bible there tells you what it is.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_07

You want to know people say, I don't know what the will of God is, I don't know what. Well, the only thing you gotta do is pick up the Bible and it'll show you exactly what his perfect will is. And his perfect will is for you to have joy, peace, love, and that's something people don't want to talk about. Love, love one another, right? Like you love yourself. I mean, we love each other, yeah. And that's how you do it is through the renewing of your mind through this word of God. It's so important that people study that word of God, just like he was just sharing, you know, at night going home and reading the Bible, and and I uh they know I have a study room. I study, yeah. I'm in there reading that Bible because if like even if me and Christian have a disagreement, I'll I'll head out to the building. You'll see me gone. I'm not gonna argue with you. I'm headed to the building, I'm gonna go read the Bible.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I'm gone.

SPEAKER_07

I'm gone, I'm headed to the building, I'm reading.

SPEAKER_06

I'll see you. You're talking about the the word in Psalms uh 119, 11. It says, Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against God.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_06

If you'll hide that word in your heart, put out get that word, uh, I think it was Solomon that said, Write it on the tablets of your heart. Right. Put it on the tablets of your heart. Put it in your heart, get it on the inside of Yeah. That's Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

But and the way you get it in there is by reading and studying it every night, and you know, taking that time to be with the Lord, people don't understand that's such an important thing, it's just taking time to spend a week reading it, reading that word.

SPEAKER_04

And now another part of a future sermon, the The Devil's Counterfeits, in 1 Peter 2.9, he says we're a chosen people. Yeah, we're a royal priesthood. And most people and most people stop at that verse, but in verse 11, this comes back to what we're talking about now. He says, He said, I beseech you, as strangers and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. So all these things we're talking about that hurt our spirit, man. God told us they were going to. That's right. If we just read the book.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Well, the devil don't have no tricks. He's still using the same ones, the same ones he used when Jesus was here.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. The same ones he used all throughout the Old Testament, the same ones that you see. You see the same devil doing the same thing over and over again. And I say this in church all the time: I I'm good at strategy. If I ever figure out your strategy, man, I can beat you. Because like hunting is a strategy to me. I'm turkey hunting. I figure out that turkey, I figure out where he's coming from. I know he's gonna be between point A and point B, baby. I got him. I can kill that sucker. I know exactly. So I'm a strategy guy. I like playing strategy games. I'm strategy. So the devil uses the same strategies over and over again. It might look a little different, but it's the same plan he uses. A lot of times he'll come in with a desire that you have. He'll come in with a woman, he'll come in with money, he'll come in with different things. He has the same plan. If you read this Bible and you pay attention to the kings, you pay attention to the people that fail for these things, and you follow them, you can figure out the strategy of the enemy. Because if we're gonna go to fight, if I'm gonna fight a battle, I'm gonna learn everything I can about that enemy. I'm gonna go in the week. I'm gonna learn how he fights, how he plays the game, and then I'm gonna be ready to take him on because I've studied him. Like I look at it like football and playing game. You know, when we were looking at another team, I would watch you. Yeah, study you. How do you play? Basketball. How do they play? What moves they got? What moves they got? If you learn the strategy, it's in sports, it's in everything. You watch the strategy and you understand the devil, and you know exactly what oxen, you see how they play. You know, it leaves itself open. Yeah, you're gonna know, okay, when he does this, he's gonna be open on this side.

SPEAKER_04

You you it's a strategy.

SPEAKER_07

Same thing.

SPEAKER_04

That's where he same thing. Is he gonna drop his lip?

SPEAKER_05

The devil had a long time to study all what he's doing, too.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, he's and he he's using the same thing as he's an idiot.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, he wouldn't have sent Jesus to the cross and the powers of this world knew what they were doing, they would have never crucified. They messed up big time, that's for sure. I mean, it people think they look at the devil as this cunning, crafty thing. The devil is a loser. And all throughout the Bible, that was the only thing he consistently has ever done has been a loser.

SPEAKER_07

Losing, losing.

SPEAKER_06

And when you follow him, you become like him, and you become a loser too. That's right. That is the truth.

SPEAKER_05

I got uh Isaiah 40, verse 31. But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Remember that when that devil's in your head, walk with the Lord. Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Well, you know, you get back in that book.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, there you go. There it is right there. It always goes back to that book. Yeah. That word wait that you said they wait on the Lord. People take that as I'm just gonna go sit at home.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that burns me up.

SPEAKER_06

I'm just gonna sit, you know get him fired up. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus walked with the walkers. He didn't sit with the sitters. No. He he ran with the running. He never set with the sitters. That's right. I mean, you you talk about when you go to a restaurant, you tip a waiter or a waitress by how they serve you. All right. Well, another way of looking at that word wait to wait on someone is to serve them. That's right. So there you go. You can't just well, I'm sitting here Well are what are you doing while you're waiting? Are you are you are you studying the word? Are you are you are you spending time with him? Are you really doing a service to him or how would your tip be?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

As a waiter. How would your tip be? Would you get a a penny?

SPEAKER_05

You know, we've had that conversation on here before, too. It's like we've talked about this. People always wanting to wait, wanting to wait. You have to take that step.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

You had to take that leap of faith and let the Lord guide you in that. He's not just going to, oh, I need a job. I mean, he's just not going to drop it in your lap. You really have to look. You have to put in those applications.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And, you know, he'll give you the one that you deserve.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. And if people sit around, if you faith, I'll say this, faith requires an action. Faith speaks out and it requires an action. You know, when God's telling you something, take the first step. And I guarantee you, when you take that first step, God will meet you on that second one. He'll start coming with you on the third step, and before you know it, you're running. Because he just starts answering to coming to you because you came to him first. You're like, he called you because you know you called. You know every one of us is called. Like come, he's calling you to come, but if you don't make a movement towards him, he's done nothing but call you. That's the reason the faith is, it's taking a little step.

SPEAKER_06

Not only that, but all of us, every one of us are called to be disciples. Yeah. Right. We're called to disciple others. We're supposed to share the gospel to others. I mean, and while you're waiting, that is a service.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. It's helping the others. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Is is is telling others. Somebody else. You tell me, tell me, I and and anybody's watching that wants to comment, tell me what disciple Jesus chose that he went to his house and got him off the couch.

SPEAKER_00

I'll wait. I mean they all had they all had stuff, and you know what?

SPEAKER_06

They all had to leave the job they had to follow him. They had to they had to give up their livelihood and make a decision. Hey, I'm going with God. This here, He's called me. I this here, forgetting those things that are behind, I press toward the mark of the high calling. Now I'm not telling people they need to quit their job. Right. I mean, I what I'm saying is you need to follow God. You need to follow him. It says to follow him with your whole heart. Wholeheartedly.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding, and all your ways acknowledge him, so he shall do what? Direct your paths. That's the part. Proverbs three, five, and six. You have to follow the Lord, and as you follow it, he'll direct you past. Another one that says, For we, Ephesians 2, 10, for we are his works workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. We were I mean, I don't know how much planner God could get in that that we were create if you're wondering what you're created to do. That's right. He created you for good works. He created you to God prepared beforehand that we should work in them.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. You know, he said in Matthew 4 19, follow me and I will make you fishers of men.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. We're fishers of men, and that's a stumbling block that people use for ministers because they'll say, Well, you've got such and such in your church. This was one of my daddy's sayings. Right. I listened to him for a lot of years. He said, God made me a fisher of men. He didn't make me a cleaner to fish. That's right. My job is to get them in. That's right. His job is to get them clean. That's right. That's right.

SPEAKER_05

It's our job to lead them to them, and it's his job to turn their hearts.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's the one big thing at church that I tell all the congregation. We don't get into stinky religion that people like, oh well, they don't smell right, they don't dress right, or anything like that. No, you bring them in, God will clean them up. That's right. It's not my job. I preach the word. I don't get up there and tell you, oh, you're doing this, doing this. No, God takes care of the cleaning. He cleaned me up. Yep. I knew I had plenty of sin. You didn't have to tell me I was a dirty, down rotten sorting sinner. I knew I was. I knew it better than anybody else. And he continues to clean. Yeah, he continues cleaning you.

SPEAKER_06

It's not a one-time thing. As long as you can't. He that began a good work in you will bring it to completion. It ain't my job. It's his job.

SPEAKER_07

That's right.

SPEAKER_06

It ain't. If anybody watching, it ain't your job either.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. That's not my job to do it. I just teach it.

SPEAKER_06

Just win them and run them off is what you'll do.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, but if you'll start just teaching the word, that's all you need to do. Just reach the word only. This is this it. This right here, this Bible. Tell them what this says. Don't tell them how they're wrong and all this. Just tell them what the Bible says.

SPEAKER_06

And that'll what brings for the thing. Have you thought about telling them the goodness of God versus Yeah, and tell them how much God loves them.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. That's the one thing people don't hear enough around here, is they hear the hate. They hear the anger. They hear all that. And, you know, the love of God's what really brought me in. Yep. That's what turned me.

SPEAKER_06

I wish I was the height, the depth, and the breadth of the love of God.

SPEAKER_07

That's what got me into this spiritual well-being was the love of God. That's what turned my life around. It wasn't my family telling me it was wrong. It wasn't anybody else. It was when I understood the love of God and got that understanding. You know what? God loves me. And I really got that on the inside. It wasn't just hearing it like I heard at church. God loves you. So do we. No, when I got to understand, how did I get to understanding that little that book up there on the when I started reading it and understanding he loves me. And then I started reading all he had planned for my life and a purpose. I was like, He loves me. Well, he loved you enough. He was willing to give his own listen to it. Yeah. But you know all that, but then you you really, the more you dive into that Bible, you really start you hear it, you hear it, but until you believe it. Until you know it. Like it's in your know it. It's in this gut down here that you can feel it. Like, oh man.

unknown

I know.

SPEAKER_07

That's what changes you.

SPEAKER_05

That's right. You know it.

SPEAKER_07

It's what really changed me, anyhow. I mean, I I can't speak for all of us here, but that's what brought me to my repentance. That's what brought me to change in me. I knew I was a sinner. I don't know that down back. I was I was professional. Professional.

SPEAKER_06

I mean I probably got a plaque I could put on the wall behind my back. Professional. But just as hard as I ran then that way. Now I run just as hard the other way.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. Now I'm giving it all I got. Yep.

SPEAKER_06

All I got, Captain.

SPEAKER_07

That's what I'm doing.

SPEAKER_06

I'm gonna pop me an energy drink or a latte or something before I get up there because I'm gonna go.

SPEAKER_07

Every day going for Jesus, pushing just as hard as I can go for him. Amen. That's what we used to do on Friday night. Ministering to people, talking to people. Yeah. I prayed every day, Lord, send me people on my way that I can minister to. Lord, uh, thank you for dumping me out and fill me up at fresh with you. It's a constant prayer with him. And it's it's not just reading this Bible, also. You need to know it's a prayer time.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Prayer time also builds you up. Taking time to pray to God and then just listen to him. Like, what do you want to tell? Communication. Yeah, communication. That's all he'd wanted since the garden. Communication.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, it gives you so much more inner peace, too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Oh man, tell about peace. Because when you get spiritual, your spiritual well-being. I mean, you get in that book, your inner peace grows. Yeah. And then that reflects everything else on the outside of you.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. That's what John 14, 27, the peace I leave with you, my peace I give in you. Not as the world gives. Do not give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor let them be afraid. Yep. That's the peace of God. That people don't get to understand. I I get it.

SPEAKER_05

No doubt when I had Philippians 4, verse 6 and 7, be anxious for nothing. But in everything. Everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds to Christ Jesus. Well it say guard.

SPEAKER_07

Guard. It says it'll put a guard about you. That's right. That's the reason I tell people in church, I'm like, you might come in here dealing with uh depression and stuff. But if you'll get into this and you'll find out, listen to me preach and live again in this word, God will put a literally guard around you. That will keep your peace that won't let the devil come in there and steal your joys, won't steal your peace. You won't be dealing with all this because he'll guard around you. And that's because I take all these scriptures literally, man. If you put it in here, buddy, I'm gonna grab hold of it and stand on it. I say this all the time in the podcast. I'm gonna stand on that word. Whatever it says.

SPEAKER_05

Well, on our last podcast, too, we talked about having dominion over your mind. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, that falls right into what you were just talking about.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's like um I had problems sleeping during this whole escapade, I guess. Yeah. They're like, you know, we need to take something to help you sleep, whatever, and it'll help for a season and then the not being able to sleep comes back. And it and it's troubling turmoil in my soul that no my soul's smarter than me, and it troubles me. You know, I mean, if if I can't go to sleep, then I need to pray about somebody. I I need to do something. Yeah. Because I when I get up at five o'clock in the morning, I finally get to bed in the afternoon. I I'm ready to go to sleep. And if I lay my tired body down and I can't go to sleep, God tells me said, Boy, you ain't talking to me today enough.

SPEAKER_05

I know. And you know, and I agree with that, dude. When I was in the hospital, I probably went I'd go three or four days at a time and might get one hour's sleep. And they'd give me all kinds of sleeping pills, and maybe I'd sleep one hour and I'd be right back awake. But when I turned it all over to God laying in that hospital bed, said Lord, it's all yours. I'm done with it. I started sleeping.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, just like that.

SPEAKER_06

I started sleeping. Yeah. You thought about the spiritual well-being, you you in that scripture you read there, it had the praise.

SPEAKER_01

Which one?

SPEAKER_06

There was a word praise in the scripture uh that they just read. It had the the word praise. That word praise is mentioned in the King James Bible 248 times. Oh yeah. If that if if God put one word in there that many times, how important is your praise? The Bible says he inhabits the praises of his people. If you'll start praising God, that is part of your worship. That is part of your that is part of your spiritual well-being. You cannot you can't deny him of his praise. The Bible says that if if if you don't praise him, that he'll make the rocks cry out.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. That's giving thanks to God. Thanks to God for everything he's doing. You know, giving thanks to God is the most important thing.

SPEAKER_06

In everything.

SPEAKER_07

That's what it says. Give everything with everything thanksgiving.

SPEAKER_05

I tell people all the time, well, I pray for this and I pray for that. I was like, but how much have you praised for that? That's right. How much how much have you thanked him for everything he's already done for you and continues to do?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I walk around all the time digging here these guys, and I was I'll just say, Thank you, Jesus. Thank God. I'll do whatever. I thank you, Lord. Because, you know, they might not know what all I'm thanking God for, but it something comes to my mind, I say, Thank you, Lord. I thank you, Jesus.

SPEAKER_04

Even Jesus turned and prayed first with the loaves and the fishes. Yeah, that's right. First he gave He gave thanks for the loaves and the fishes. He sure did. And then he turned and broke the bread and the fish and gave it to the apostles who are likened to ministers now. Yeah. And the ministers or the apostles then gave the bread to the people. We do not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

SPEAKER_05

That's right.

SPEAKER_04

So that is our progression as well. We we pray first so that we can get through to folks. And we get our word from God. And then we turn and we give it to the people. We feed them, we feed their spirit, we feed their soul.

SPEAKER_00

That's right.

SPEAKER_07

And also, you know, the part about the spiritual well-being that I'd probably cover in here is that it helps you forgive other people. Oh yeah. I mean, that's something that that'll help you. You know, you don't you don't hold unforgiveness. You know, I had people come up to me and said, I I want you to forgive me. I'm like, man, I've already forgave you, man. I don't hold grudges. We've talked about this on the on the forgiveness on a podcast. Yeah, forgive me. But this is tough, this is talking about spiritual well-being today. And, you know, whether you might not have caught the other podcast or not, but this is something that when you get closer to God, the more you get it, forgiveness comes easy. You're like, man, hey, don't worry about it. It's all good. I ain't worried about it no more. I ain't even thought about it. Because you know what? I'm believing free because I forgive. Man, you can do me wrong. I'm done. I'm done with it because you know what? Hey, it is what it is. You know, if Jesus could say forgive them when after he had been nailed to the cross, forgive them, God, for they don't know what they've done. If he could forgive them after being beaten and after being such torture, why am I saying I'm any better? I just find it easy now. I'm like, man, I got a good heart on the inside of me. And God's really worried on me, like I said, in the last year to six months, building me more and more, more and more that forgiveness is even easier. Like the last three or four years, I've forgiveness has been easier. But it's even now, it's like it just comes quicker.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I say that, it comes so quick. It's like, you know, at the first it was uh it was I was easy to forgive people, but now it's almost like instantaneous. It's like, man, you didn't man, I ain't even thought about it. I gave it no more thoughts in that moment that you did it. I'm good. I'm happy. You're not going to because I do not give people the ability to steal my joy, to take anything from me because I'm living in Christ. Christ is living in me. Don't that Bible scripture say that we're a new creation?

unknown

That's right.

SPEAKER_07

New creature and the Christ. I think I got that one wrote down in here. When you come in Christ, therefore anyone in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things has passed away, and behold, all things become new. So that's what you do when you're in Christ. You the things that's have been eaten at you don't eat at you because you're in Christ now.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, it's I'm that remind that reminds me. I saw a Facebook folks this m post this morning on one of the local pages here, like community pages, and a lady had over all the roads around four lanes, had pulled in front of another car, and she said she was a good two cars ahead of a person behind her. Person behind her flips out, you know, shooting her the bird, this, that, and the other. And she said on Facebook, and it made me think about forgiveness. She told that woman, because I don't know who you are, but all that stuff that you were doing to me when I turned in front of you, were gotten the lane in front of you, that's not bothering anybody but you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, that's the only person that's bothering is you. That's right. That's not bothering me or anybody else around you. You're just gonna eat at you all day. Yeah. So why you let it do that?

SPEAKER_07

Don't let the things of the world keep you from the plan of God's plan in your life. What do you mean? Because you gotta realize you got a plan. It's like he's talking about counterfeits. God's got a plan for you. And if you'll let everything of the world come in, it'll keep you from the plan that you have on your life. And that's something I've really got to understand in the last six months to a year is man, I can't let all this other stuff. Don't let the temporary the eternal. Yeah, I've got I've got a plan. Like Jeremiah said, I got a plan and a purpose and a hope and a future for your life. I've got something in store for you. Don't get sidetracked, don't look at all the things. Don't get in the flesh. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That leads me into Galatians chapter 5, verses 22 and 23. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I like that one. Yeah, I do too.

SPEAKER_04

I like that one. I love it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I mean, me too. I mean I will tell you, the closer you get to God, the easier it is. Exactly. Yeah, I don't try I don't, you know, I used to. I wanted to give people a piece of my mind and I realized I didn't have enough to be sharing. Yeah, they don't know.

SPEAKER_07

You get easier and easier to just have that self-control because you're more of God and God's got more in you. And the more you grow in Christ, the easier this stuff comes.

SPEAKER_06

And then there's the part that says, Cast your cares on me because I care for you. People that know me realize now that I really don't care. I don't I mean I I'm as carefree as I've ever been. And you know, I had a problem with people addiction, approval addiction. Wanting people to approve now. It's okay with me if you don't approve.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't have known that if you wouldn't have told me.

SPEAKER_06

What that I don't care that I had people. I I had approval addiction at one time. I got delivered.

SPEAKER_04

Amen, bro. But uh the peace is a very important, very, very important. Because if your peace is shattered or fractured or broken, it's really hard to move in any of the other gifts of the spirit. That's right. Because you you need to be at peace.

SPEAKER_05

And it all goes back to what we were just talking about forgiveness. I mean, if you cannot forgive somebody, you will never be at peace with yourself.

SPEAKER_04

I was I was talking with somebody the other day and um I was in a business deal and looked like I was gonna lose thousands of dollars. And I just said, okay, yeah, whatever. And they're like, Really? I'm like, yeah, I don't care. I'm done. Because if I keep chasing this, I'm gonna lose my peace. And if I lose my peace, everything else is gonna fall by the wayside too. So I'm done. I'm walking away. And then lo and behold, they called us a few days later, the same the same person I thought was scanning us, and said they want to make it right. And I let it go. I just let it go. I had written that money off gone. It ain't my money now, it's God's. I said I just wrote it off. You're not selling for me. It it ain't my money anymore. That that was uh an old me from a long time ago. This this is God's money. This ain't mine. And when they call back, I'm like, well, look at God. Cause it won't me, because I said I'm done. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I had a sap on Facebook Marketplace this week like that. I'm selling something. The lady asked me, I told her to meet me down here at the Hung Depot, and I got there and waited 20 minutes. Waited. Then she texted me, Well, I'm sending my daughter, she's at such and such restaurant eating it at old market. I'm like, eating? Mm-hmm. I mean, you were supposed to be in here 20 minutes ago. Where are you at? Why are you sending her? There's a Spanish lady. Mm-hmm. So she said, Well, my daughter's on the way. I said, It's too late now. I'm already back home. I got tired of waiting.

unknown

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_05

Well, she texted me yesterday, as soon as I got home to church. She texted me. Um, we're in Wilmington. I said, Are you in Wilmington? Where's your daughter in Wilmington? It was her and her husband, and lo and bold, I said, Well, make me down there. They showed up. Yeah. I mean, she had to change her too, I guess.

SPEAKER_06

Well, you know, you're talking about you're talking about peace and and how p important p peace is. Well, Jesus was called the Prince of Peace. Well, that also Jesus said that the comforter would come. The comforter was the Holy Spirit. Well, how can you if your peace is affected, then that means your uh attachment to the Holy Spirit is being affected. Because he's the one that's going to lead you and guide you in all truth. When you start getting away and you start letting that affect your peace, then it is drawing you away from your relationship.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know about the rest of you. Well, my peace is broken, my anger multiplies quickly.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Quickly. Yeah. I mean I will keep him at what? Perfect peace whose mind is stayed on me.

SPEAKER_05

I used to run around here all the time with my thermometer about right there. Talk about the blue anymore. I could tell you I had a short few I mean with family, there's traffic, it didn't matter, man. It didn't take nothing to set me off.

SPEAKER_06

Well, just yesterday I could see the blood pressure in my eye at one point in time. I mean the twitch.

SPEAKER_03

I mean that guy t shirt. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, when you can check your blood pressure and your beats per minute in your eyeball, you're like, Yeah. I need to go calm. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I need to get in that good book. I need to go get in my closet and pray. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I love it.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I got another one, Proverbs. I'm about guarding your heart. Keep your heart with Proverbs 4, verse 23. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. That's right. Yeah. I mean it does. And that kind of reminds that carries me back too long. What verse was it where Jesus said nothing that his father made is fight defight defiles you. What goes in, what goes in, what comes out of the heart. Out of the abundance of the heart of mouth speaks, the mouth speaks, yeah. So whatever's in your heart, be it evil or whatever, that's what's going to come out.

SPEAKER_07

So whatever you got on the inside of you, and he'll, you know, when you get the more you get into this Bible and stuff, the more you're going to get closer to God, the more you're going to be able to He's going to put a guard about your heart. He's going to put a guard about your mind. He's going to renew your mind through this Bible. And, you know, that's the part that a lot of people, I see so many people struggling. You know, I got a church and a minister, and I I have a lot of people, and I see so many people struggling. I'm like, you know, the preaching's just not going to help. You got to make a change besides when you're here.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_07

You got to make a change outside. The only thing the preaching is there to do is to prompt you to get a res to prompt you to come home and to do more.

SPEAKER_06

And do you remember what Jesus told the devil in Matthew 4 4? Whenever he said, Make these stones into bread. He said, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Every word that proceeds from the mouth of God is that's the word you're supposed to have in your heart.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, on that note, do I head off? Colossians 2, verses 6 and 7. As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established into faith. That goes back to saying what we've been talking about this whole time. Staying in that book.

SPEAKER_07

Getting rooted in it.

SPEAKER_05

Getting rooted in his faith. Praise him every day. And thank thank him for everything he's done in your life. Pray without ceasing. Pray without ceasing. I mean it's constant. You couldn't have told me two years ago that by every s every minute of the day I feel like I'm thanking the Lord for something. Or praising him and thanking him for everything he's done for me. Or how about doing a podcast through years ago? Or doing a podcast and spreading his good news with my friends. And I mean, even down to every step I take, because I shouldn't be walking. Yeah. But I'm walking.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. They told you you wouldn't walk. They told you you were gonna die. They told you all those things, but I told you I'm hard-headed.

SPEAKER_06

God has a plan for you. Guard what you allow in your heart.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. You know what? And you know, my wife and we've been talking about this week. She what she loves Instagram. Poor thing. And it's just like Facebook and everything else. Whatever you watch, it just keeps feeding you more and more. And she'll be like, Have you seen this going on everyone? I was like, No, because I don't care. I don't want to hear it. I got better things to do. And I've told her, I said, if you'll get on that Instagram and just search the word Jesus and start looking at podcasts and stuff like that, getting post, your life would change for the better. I mean, she's a good woman. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying she's evil.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It's the stuff that she keeps scrolling through and stopping and watching. And then she comes to me with it, and I'm like, I don't, baby, I love you, but I don't want to hear that. You're feeding your mind. Yeah, I said, I'm not gonna feed my mind with that junk. That's just like eating a carrot or a Snickers bar. Which one's better for you? You got to make that decision.

SPEAKER_06

The Snickers bar is better to you, but the carrot's probably better for you. Right. John Paul wouldn't know that, and I don't think he's ever eat a carrot. I've tried one or two. Proverbs 423, Solomon said, Keep your heart with all diligent, for out of it are the issues of life.

SPEAKER_00

That's right.

SPEAKER_06

What you watch, what you listen to, who you spend your time with, what you think about, all of that is what what you need to guard of of what's going in your heart.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. There's some people that you have to let go of, unfollow. Unfollow, don't talk to, because they always have a negative report. Oh. Yeah, you know, we've talked about this too on this podcast, too.

SPEAKER_05

If you don't if you're trying to get away from drugs, cussing, smoking, anything, you don't get around people that do all that. If you got friends that are telling you, oh, it'd be alright, just come with us. They're not your friends.

SPEAKER_04

No, I I've only met one person in my life that that was a smoker and we're friends with. So we were working, got a smoke. This guy comes outside and he looked at me and said, Watch this. I said, What do you mean? He said, Watch this. So the guy comes up, he's like, Man, I I I ain't got any cigarettes. You got one? He's like, Didn't you say you were trying to quit? He said, Yeah, yeah, yeah. He said, I'm gonna help you. He tried and walked away.

SPEAKER_06

I remember I remember, I know exactly who you were talking about. You were working at Guilford then one time.

SPEAKER_03

He said, I'm gonna help him quit. He's gonna quit real quick, too. Exactly. You don't go potentiate it. You said that you wanted to quit. That's right. He said he'll come every day. That's a good thing.

SPEAKER_06

He'd quit buying them. He won't quit smoking.

SPEAKER_05

Just quit by them. Yeah. I mean, you know, that goes that just like being a good Christian to me is like being a good parent. I mean, if you see one of your friends or even a stranger, they're out there committing sins and doing wrong, and you don't say something to them, are you really being a good Christian? I mean, you're not gonna change their heart immediately, but you will plant that seed in her head. I mean, just like you're not gonna let your kids go beating and banging and cussing and fussing without saying something to 'em, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Well, I mean, we should do that with everybody we know. But like I said, I mean, it's like, you know, you got to knock the dust off at some point. Say say say something to them one time and then just plant that seed.

SPEAKER_04

I heard a story.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you can there there's there's a lot of different ways people say it though. I mean, you can say it with love and and instead of a judgment mentality because the Bible also says judge not lest you be judged. That's right. You know, God God it's God, like you were we talked about earlier, it's God who changes them. It's up to us to get them to it.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_06

And so I I know people you tell them they're wrong, that's not gonna help them. But if you'll try if you tell them how to be right.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_06

Well, I mean I ever Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I I made a few comments on some Facebook posts meaning this is Pride Month. Yeah, not you. No, yeah, not me. But I mean, I'm serious, though. You think about it. I mean, and it but I I did it in a loving way. Yeah. And also backed it up with scripture. I mean, I didn't give them no hellfire and brimstones. I but I backed it up with scripture. Even when they try to counteract with scripture, try to prove their side, and I'm like, no, you're wrong.

SPEAKER_06

They is so God ain't gonna contradict himself. That's right. There has been so many Fortune 500 companies that have backed out of all of the pride stuff because of how much money they were losing because of it. They have just there's a lot of them that have backed off. They've lost like ther I think fifty to sixty percent of their funding. See, people you don't hear much about that on the news, the good stuff that's happening.

SPEAKER_04

So there was a an evangelist that that told his story as the truth. So I'm gonna take it as the truth because I can't ask him because he's dead now. But he said he had a friend that started preaching on the street corners, and and his mama said he was crazy. And his mama was one of these high flute and high society folks. And she felt like it put her down. So she had him committed to Oberry here in North Carolina. He said, I want a good friend. I didn't go see my friend for two years. He said, But I went the day I got there, they told me that they didn't do visitors on whatever day it was. It was Saturday, I believe. And he said, Well, ma'am, I'm a I'm a pastor and I'd like to see, and he called a guy's name. And she said, Oh, you want to see Odell? He said, Yeah, I want to see Odell. She said, You're not gonna believe the transformation. He said, Well, transformation, he ain't crazy as nothing. His mama's his mama's the problem, it's not him. She said, Oh no, you should see the transformation. And so she takes him to the ward with 72 men. She said, We have done electrotherapy, we've done uh electors, we've done all this stuff to these men and couldn't change it. She said, Wait till you walk in, see what in there's there, they're praying, they're singing the praises. And she said, for two years he's been and he's preached to these boys and he's talked to him about the goodness of God and about God. And him by himself has changed this whole men's work. There you go.

SPEAKER_07

And there's other testimonies that going on to that same thing, talking about you know, in prison ministries. Yeah, prison ministries. Yeah, because these guys are starting to get saved and they're having a whole child change at prisons. You know, I've heard that the stories that's you know going around that you know, there's several different prisons that have had a change in them because of people going in and teaching the word of God, that the fights are not happening like they were and things like that because of the word of God being preached.

SPEAKER_06

When you're listening to a preacher that's still hollering how bad the world is and how big of a mess it is, he needs to write a new sermon.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, a preacher like that, you need to find another church.

SPEAKER_07

Ray said it, I thought it. Um But you you know, that is true. You need to find somebody that, you know, because the world does have darkness. But we've said this in here before. We are the light of the world. You doesn't matter how dark it gets, if y'all turn on the light, baby, that's right. That darkness goes away. It it has to go away for what? Free. Free. It don't cost nothing because it it leaves immediately. Darkness cannot hide around a light. If I take my light out in the yard at night, buddy, that darkness runs. It's gone in a second. I got lights on the end of guns and different things like that, flashlights. You roll that thing out there, buddy. I can see everything, and darkness runs from that light. That's what we're called to be. If the world's getting darker, the church has to step up its game and be the light of the world, the lighthouse sitting on a hilltop, shining so everybody can see the way to Jesus Christ, and that's what we're called to do. I I am all about that light. I'm talking about when people start telling me, well, the world's a bad place. Well, have you been to church? Have you been? Have you let your light shine? You got a light on the inside. If you got Jesus, there's a light. Darkness can't come where the light is. You have the power to overthrow the darkness. Use your authority that Christ gives you. I wish my fired up.

SPEAKER_05

I wish every Christian I knew would be as fired up as we are, but what about the change the world?

SPEAKER_06

What about the preachers that tell you you need that 90-day food supply?

SPEAKER_05

Oh God. I got on that one the other day. I mean, that was another one of them things you brought up that Instagram stuff. I said, I don't want to hear that.

SPEAKER_07

No, because uh have you ever seen the righteous forsaken or begging for bread? That's right. I gave a whole sermon on that Wednesday night I was talking about, and not a whole sermon, but I covered it because I was hearing these ministers up there in the pulpit telling people they need a 90-day water supply and food supply and all that.

SPEAKER_06

Just live thy neighbor as thyself in that one.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, and here's the next thing. And I and I said, I quoted our manual favorite scripture when I read every night to Sawyer, and Sawyer quotes it out. The Lord is my shepherd. I shall want that I take that scripture and I hold on to that because I read it every night to Sawyer. He reads it every night. Watch that upon the 23rd time. Yeah, that's just that's our scripture. I mean, Sawyer reads it. I quote that scripture to him every night and he reads it right back to me. And now it's so cool. I got now, before I even say it, because I'm reading it out to him, before I even say he starts finishing my sentence. There you go. Because he knows what it's gonna say before sin. And he's learning scripture, you know, at a young age, because that scripture, you can pray it like a prayer. Yep. And I was I was telling him, like, you shall not want anything. How can you tell me that I'm gonna need something when God says I shall not want? And here's the next thing. I've been in my backyard. There's 200 rabbits running around. I will be fine. I will be fine.

SPEAKER_05

I'm the same way with squirrels. What are you talking about? We'll be all right with the way, right? I got a baby feeder back there that doves come too, and I got squirrels.

SPEAKER_07

And we got some doving rice, squirreling rice. We got anchors we can grain them anchors up and have some meal. I will be alright. I will promise you I will not starve to death.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_07

And I've got a freshwater whale, I will be fine.

SPEAKER_06

Not only that, but we have a pond.

SPEAKER_07

Catch fish out of a pond fish.

SPEAKER_06

I will be all right. I don't know exactly what you want to eat. But I don't know how good the neighbors would like us taking a cow.

SPEAKER_07

But it would be a lot better than it would be a lot better than uh dry and pigeon dung. What do they have? Um they telling you to get dried out beans and rice. And rice and make it canned goods. Well, now squab is a baby pigeon.

SPEAKER_06

That's a delicacy. I was talking, I was talking about in the Bible where they ate pigeon dung.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but I would be fine. And that's why I tell her, I was like, do you not remember where we were raised? I mean, both of us were raised on a farm.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. It wouldn't take you but a minute. You can come down to my place. We got enough deers. We'll be you'll be fed.

SPEAKER_05

Just because I live in the city don't mean I forgot how to plant something in the dirt. Yeah. And make it grow. Yeah. Exactly. It's not that hard. It is not that hard.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And the coons is I ain't very fond of them, but if I was hungry, I'd eat more.

SPEAKER_05

They say they're good barbecue. Coon hash is good, buddy. I work with an Indian gentleman from Buckhead when I worked at the plant, and every nine then his wife would send in some coon hash.

SPEAKER_07

Man, they'd be tasting. And on next week's fit meat butter now. On next week's podcast, we'll be doing recipes.

SPEAKER_06

We'll do a cooking. I'm gonna get that lady's uh coon casserole that you like so good.

SPEAKER_05

That's what I said. We get in there and possum and sweet potatoes, and what I'm gonna do. Yeah. I got a possum dough. That's my thing. Oh possum and sweet potatoes.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, but that's the thing people don't understand. We'll be fine. People just watching that they're worried about something that I won't, I'm never gonna get in fear of it.

SPEAKER_06

It has not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. That's right. Yeah, I'm not worried about it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, people that used to work with me and say, yeah, if there's ever a zombie apocalypse, we're going to Daniel's house. He's got hogs, chickens, peacocks, goats. But ain't gonna be no apocalypse, so okay.

SPEAKER_05

I bet when the squirrel would be good on my smoker. Yeah, they are. I've ate them like that. They're delicious. I know them pheasants are. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I've ate a mighty plenty of squirrel on a smoker. They are delicious.

SPEAKER_05

I've always had squirrel in rice, but squirrel in gravy. But I tried anyway.

SPEAKER_07

That is a good way to eat them. You ain't kidding. They will tell you all barbecuing. If you didn't notice here on this podcast, we might be a little bit of southern gun.

SPEAKER_05

Might be a red Nicky if you're talking about eating squirrels.

SPEAKER_07

That's good, dude. If you have an overpopulation, we will come thin them out for it. Yeah. That's right. I got a poodle pointer starting to tree them, too.

SPEAKER_04

I got some mountain curves that are for sure tree.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, you go. If you're in town, we might bring a silencer.

SPEAKER_04

That game o silent game.

SPEAKER_05

I got an air rifle to take care of that game of silence. Gentlemen, this has been a good one. I've enjoyed it. Daniel, thank you for joining us this time. Yes, sir.

SPEAKER_06

There was one more scripture I had that I wanted to talk about. 3rd John 1-2.

SPEAKER_07

Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Beloved, I wish above all things. John was 90 years old when he wrote this. Beloved, I wish above all things that ye prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers. Even as your soul prospers. At 90 years old, he said, look, prosperity, health, and your soul prospering are the main things that you need to focus on.

SPEAKER_04

Tied together. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Because if you ain't got if you ain't got health, you can't spread the word of God. If you haven't got finances, you can't spread the word of God. Well, your spirit needs to be strong so you can spread the word of God. That's what that's what it's all about. It's about building God's kingdom.

SPEAKER_05

I feel like if you get that spirit right, all the rest of it falls into place. It does. It does. It does. I'm living proof. It does. Me too.

SPEAKER_07

Me.

SPEAKER_05
