Welcome to the Testament's Faith Podcast. I'm Ray Bradshaw joining me tonight, Jon Paul Murphy and John Quinn and Daniel Bell from the Word of Faith Ministries Church in Kenansville, North Carolina. Tonight's topic on this podcast is Faith that Stands. Faith that stands focuses on trusting God with perseverance, especially during trials, uncertainty and opposition. Scripture constantly tells us and teaches us that genuine faith is steadfast because it is anchored in God's character rather than changing circumstances. Be watchful, stand firm in faith, act like men and be strong.
Speaker 1How y'all feel about that one?
Speaker 5I mean, what can believers do to grow stronger in their walk with Jesus? Other than reading his Bible, baby.
Speaker 3Faith comes by hearing the word of God.
Speaker 4Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God.
Speaker 5Exactly. That's right. I say hearing by the word of God and hearing testimony. Exactly. And that's what started this podcast was my testimony.
Speaker 4I heard a preacher years ago, I don't even remember who it was. He said he went to a dear saint's house that was owning years and she was closer to heaven than earth. And he said that uh she asked him to read out of her Bible. She didn't want to read out of his Bible. She said, That's my Bible. Right. That's what I've read my whole life. I want you to read out of that Bible. Said that there was a T and a P here, and a T and a P there, and a T and a P here. And he said, What's that? She said, Those are the promises of God. The T was when I tested them. And the P was when it came through. Wow. Tested and proven. She said, every promise he gave been tested and proven.
Speaker 5It's proven.
Speaker 4To me personally.
Speaker 5That's right.
Speaker 4I'm like, mmm. And that's you your faith goes the same way. You hear like your testimony. What happened to you, what you came through. That's right. That builds somebody's faith somewhere. You know?
Speaker 5So and I try to share it with everybody I come across too. It don't matter if it's in the grocery store at the gas pump. Somebody asked me how I'm doing. Well, let me tell you. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. You might not want to ask me that question if you want to stand around and talk a while.
Speaker 4Yeah. Well, that's that's like, you know, people always always said, you know, I was different. They they trust me to they don't know why there was something different. And now they see what's different. Yeah. You know, and that helps build my faith that the things I'm doing, I'm doing through him. Right. And everything I do, I do for his glory. I'm not doing it for me. There's no Daniel part in any of this. So, you know, faith faith is easy. Yeah. If nothing's going on, you know, my wife used to sing God on the mountain. He's still God in the valley. It's the same person. And then you had the story about the footprints in the sand. You know, why did you leave me in my toughest times? Because here there's only one set of footprints.
Speaker 5Yeah.
Speaker 4So my child, that's where I carried you.
Speaker 5That's right.
Speaker 4He's still there all the time. It's just do you feel him? Do you see him? Do you trust him? Where's your faith lie?
Speaker 5Yep. I mean, I have my faith definitely strong in him. Like I got that night that morning I got in that wreck, I lead in that room and said, Lord, please save my life.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 5And here I am. I mean, I guess Yeah.
Speaker 4And the Bible's filled with many women who faced impossible circumstances, but they still trusted God to see them through. And uh I I know you got Hebrews, but I'm gonna read it because I've got a I got a thing to go with it. Yeah. Actually from one of my sermons. So Hebrews 11 1 says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. And in 2 Corinthians 5 7 says, For we walk by faith, not by sight. All right. Walking is a human concept that all humans understand. But we are built to walk by sight. You have to have help to walk. So if you lose your sight, you need to get a walking stick. That becomes your eyes. So you have faith in that stick that is gonna take you where you need to go and keep you from faltering, stumbling, and falling. The practice of walking is a controlled fall. If you don't take the next step, you'll fall. Well, faith is walking by the word of God without sight. You're taking away the human element. And the reason you take the human element away is because the human element doesn't really coincide well with faith.
unknownRight.
Speaker 4And we'll get into some of that a little bit later on about different folks and what happened when it happened.
Speaker 2Well now now, whenever you you you mentioned that. Now, whenever you're talking about walking, do you think when you're taking your next step? No, it's not a thing. It's just an automatic action. Faith should be the same way. It should be an automatic action. You shouldn't have to think wait. Am I gonna put one foot ahead of the other? No, it's not. And uh if you're looking at Hebrews 11 1, there I was actually pulling it up into Amplified Classic. Uh now faith is the assurance, the confirmation, the title deed of the things we hope for. Faith is your title. That is your title deed. That is if you've got the deed to your truck and somebody comes to take it, are you gonna show them no? My name's on the title. I've got the deed. Your house. I've got the deed to it. That's right. Are you gonna say, no, you can have it even though I've got the deed? No. You're not gonna let the enemy take what you've already got by faith.
Speaker 5I like the way you think you can talking walking by sight, dude, because that you know, like in my house, I went so many years being away from God and not going to church, but now I'm getting back into it. I can see my children are seeing what I'm doing. And it's it and they're starting to follow and and make I can see the decisions they're making and some of the stuff they're doing.
Speaker 3Yeah. Yeah, well, faith enters a house and a man takes a step in a response, the rest are c following behind it. You know, and faith is a faith in God. You know, when you're talking about faith, it's talking about faith in God when you're standing to that place and you stand up for God, and as a man stands up in a house, you know, the rest of the family's gonna follow because you've been called the leader of the house. That's right. As a man, you know, I'm I'm gonna offend a plenty of uh religious women. Good. I hope I do. But a man is called to lead the house if he's a godly man.
SpeakerThat's right.
Speaker 3If he's not a godly man, then I understand you gotta do what you gotta do. But if you got a godly man in the house, he is called to lead the house. And when you allow him to lead the house, when you listen to this, when you allow him to lead the house and he does what he's supposed to, the rest of the life family will come up. But I have seen it so many times when the man didn't lead the house, and you had a woman leading the house, that his man was a godly man, and the whole family's in disarray because you're not biblical. So what I'm saying is you're doing the right thing. And as you're doing that, you got a guarantee from one thing on God. I I say this all the time. You got scriptures that says when one person in the household gets saved, the whole family's gonna respond. So you keep on claiming that thing. That's what faith is, is claiming that response that God has promised you. You claim that response saying, I know God's gonna save my whole house. That's an operation of faith, right? It's claiming things before you even seen it. Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen yet believe. Faith is not all not seeing something, it's believing it before you even see the actions or the fruit of it. You're believing in something before the fruits ever come up. It's just like planting a tree. You have to have faith to do anything in this world. Turn on that light switch over there. When we turn it on, I got faith that the lights are gonna come on. That I need to be on.
Speaker 2You gotta have faith in that chair to believe it holds you when you see it.
Speaker 3When I plant a tree, I have faith that that tree is gonna come up and it's gonna produce fruit. So everybody has faith. Yeah, faith in your seed. Faith in something that you're gonna have. You got faith. But now what we're talking about is you don't see that tree with fruit on it yet. Right. But I got faith that when I plant this, it's gonna it's gonna produce. So the same thing you carry this that you naturally have, you carry this into the spirit realm and saying I'm claiming things by faith. I'm speaking faith into my life, I'm speaking it into my children, just like I told you about you. You speak it over their life. It doesn't matter what the action looks like right now. You keep on claiming this by faith. That's right. Because it's the Bible. You're never wrong. We say this all the time when you quote God. How can I be wrong when I'm quoting what he says? He's not wrong. That's right. I'm quoting what he says. I'm this is not something I stormed up last night. That's right. I didn't storm this up last night. Think about it.
Speaker 2What did Jesus say several times in the Bible? According to thy faith, so be it unto you.
Speaker 3He never shot anybody down in the Bible for having too much faith. He did say, Oh, hey, get away from me. You got too much faith.
Speaker 2Nope. Yeah, you got too much faith.
Speaker 3He got on the people. He got on the people.
Speaker 2So when the people say you did say not so great a faith if I found not at all.
Speaker 5I mean, I mean, I just like I'd done one of them before we done this big podcast, I'd done it and I titled it The Faith of the Centurion. I mean, somebody that weren't even a believer in Jesus had enough faith in him to heal his servant. And Jesus said, I've never seen a body of having that much faith in him. Yeah.
Speaker 4But to your point, if I plant a garden, I've got faith that those seeds are going to come up and it's going to bear fruit. That's right. But I don't plant the seeds and walk in the house and sit down and go. I work.
Speaker 3Yeah, you go out there and chop the weeds out.
Speaker 4I fertilize it.
Speaker 3Yep.
Speaker 4I fertilize it. I fertilize it. Fertilize it. Right there. I'm in I'm in the book. That's right. I nourish the seed. God says we all have the measure of faith. What is the measure of faith? It's the appropriate amount. We have enough faith.
Speaker 3If you have faith of a mustard seed, you'll speak to the Satanist mountain. Move from here to there, and it will move. And nothing. Was it where impossible for you?
Speaker 5I mean you're thinking about that mustard seed too, how small it is. But it is one of the most determined seeds. It is. And look how big that plant will get. And look at the seeds that it produces once it starts topping out.
Speaker 4And talking about faith, you know, there was a man in the Bible that was too old to make babies, and a woman too old to carry a baby and have a baby.
Speaker 5And they did.
Speaker 4But God said, Abraham. That's right. I'm going to make you a father of many nations. He was childless when he was told that.
SpeakerYeah.
Speaker 4And in years. And humans said, It ain't going to happen.
SpeakerYeah.
Speaker 4It ain't going to happen. But it did.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2He never lost a faith by the promise of God.
Speaker 3He was considered a father of faith. The very, you know, he didn't waver at anything God told him. You know, when he said, Leave out of my your father's family, you know, your father's country, house, and country. He did what God said. Everything he did, he listened to God and and had a response to follow God. And Sarah laughed.
Speaker 2Yeah. Yep. And he told her, You will nurse this baby.
Speaker 5Yep. Mm-hmm. I'll leave. You got to have faith in, you know, no matter what's happening in your life, you got to keep that faith. I mean, it's like me when I got in that wreck leading hospital for five months. I mean, I could have sat there and go, whoa, it's woo, it's me. And, you know, this, that, and the other. But I I I put my I give it all to God laden right during that hospital. Mm-hmm. And I this is the way it's changed my life. Yeah. And I wake up every morning with that faith. Yeah. Now he's gonna keep me going and supply what I need.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 5But you know, it's like going back to that analogy I said in the earlier podcast, you can't lean on a shovel and expect the holders cut to come up. You got to put in the work too. Exactly. And that's getting out there, reading that Bible, doing like all that podcast before laugh called to do more, telling people about him, put that work in.
Speaker 4That's in Hebrews 10, 23, it says, Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering. And let us consider one another to provoke, and provoke means to stir up in this context. Unto love and the good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together. Those verses are put together for a reason. We build each other's faith. We're two or three together, there I am also. But now we're gonna look at it larger. When you go to church and the assembling together, everybody's faith together is an amazing thing if you come expecting and you believe. Right.
Speaker 3If you bring your own source and I bring my own source, and everybody brings their own source when they show up, we got a lot. You got a lot of faith. Yeah, you got a lot because you bring your own source. Yep.
Speaker 2Um what what verse did you start in neighbors 10?
Speaker 4I start I I read the first of 25.
Speaker 3You know, the Noah's a great example of faith that's really out there. Yeah. You know, when everybody else is laughing, you know, I I get this a lot of times because I go, I say some crazy things at the beginning of service. I get up there and I really proclaim things and prophesy things at the beginning of the service, and and people look at me like, what are you talking about? You know, like John Paul walked that man. Yeah, that's fine. Because you know what? And I I remind myself of these stories. Look at Noah. Why everybody laughed at him? Everybody called him a fool. Yeah, they were calling him a fool, saying you're crazy, but you don't realize I got a word from on high. This ain't John Paul getting his word.
Speaker 5That's right.
Speaker 3I got it when I was in my prayer room this week, while you were probably doing something else. I was in my prayer room getting studying and getting ready, and I heard from God, and I'm bringing it to my people now. That's right. You I'm bracing for you. That's the reason I said brace yourself, get ready, because I'm fixing to take something on you. So, you know, by faith, Noah being dividedly warned of things not yet seen, moved with a godly fear, prepared an ark for saving his of his household. He had never seen it rain. Didn't know where it was. He was moved by faith and operated in faith. And you know, I say this all the time about faith. Faith has to move. Faith is not stagnant, faith doesn't sit still, faith has to move. Because faith that sits still is not operating anything. It's like your shovel that you propped up on. It's not moving. It's like a still body of water that grows stagnant. It's like because you're not moving. Yeah, it's not moving. You've got the faith has to be operating, working. Keep on doing something for it to do what it's called to do. Yeah. People like, well, I just got faith. Well, what are you doing with it? Yeah, what are you doing with it? You know, um, you know, Peter could have said, uh, I got faith. But if he'd never stepped out of the boat, faith requires a step. That's right. And faith is like a rubber band, it stretches out and then it comes back. It's elastic. You have got to stretch your faith. You know, we're called not to live comfortable. We're called to stretch. Keep on moving your faith on the inside of you that God's given you. You've got it, you've got to move with it.
Speaker 4So and people talk junk about Peter. There's 11 other people on that boat that didn't even think about trying to step off that boat. Yeah, they talk about him how he got his eyes off Jesus, but he got out of the boat.
Speaker 5That's right. He got out of the boat. He took he might have taken his eyes off, but he did get out.
Speaker 4That's right. And we talk about walk by faith, not by sight. Remember, I told you if we revisit this again, well, why did he lose his faith? Because he heard the boisterous wind blowing. He got back into the flesh and saw the risk and the dangers. That's right. And then what did Jesus say to him? Without a little faith. Why does why did it style doubt?
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 4He called him. He said, come. Yeah.
Speaker 2He took his eyes off of Jesus and got his eyes on the situation. Exactly.
Speaker 4Yeah. Which is why we don't walk by sight, because what we see ain't That's right.
Speaker 5Yeah, that's when you walk by sight, you're walking in the world. Mm-hmm. It's the worldly things, yeah.
Speaker 2And that's the worst thing for us.
Speaker 5Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2Later on in Hebrews 10, where you were at a while ago, it says that now the just shall live by faith. Faith is a lifestyle.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 2Faith is a a a daily walk. It a lot of people just want to believe at a certain point, and then when they get what they want, they draw back. And that's that's what this right here is talking about. Cast not away therefore your confidence, starting in verse 35, 10, 35. Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God ye might receive the promise for yet a little while and he that shall come will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith, but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them that draw back unto perdition, but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. Faith don't quit. Right. Faith faith don't quit if the answer is delayed. Faith don't quit. It keeps trusting until it receives a promise. You know, there's a scripture says, um having done all to do to stand, stand therefore. Exactly. Stand. Keep standing. Keep your faith standing. You know, you see in a lot of ball, like football, whenever they get ahead, they'll pull their best players off the field. And they'll put the second string out. We should never put our second string faith out. We should always keep the best on the field. Keep it on the field. Because here's the thing, you don't you don't just because your house is built go out there and take a block out every once in a while just just because it's built. You keep you keep your foundation. Yeah. You keep you keep your foundation.
Speaker 5I mean that if you do anything, you gotta keep it strong.
Speaker 2Right. You don't take away from it, you add to it. Right. That that's how your your faith should stake because oh what was it? One of you's got that scripture about uh I see Building your house. Uh I think it was you Matthew seven, twenty five twenty-four and twenty-five. Yeah.
Speaker 5Yep. Therefore ever who hears these sayings of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. Yep. Compared to wise builder who built his house on the rock. Those storms came, the house stood because it had a solid foundation.
Speaker 2The faith b faith builds a strong foundation before the storm ever gets there. You need to have your faith out before the storm ever comes. To ever get in that word that we've been taught. Talking so much about to find out what the word says about the situation. Right. Well, I don't have to do that because I already have the word on the inside of me. And when the time when the trouble comes, I already know what to say because I know what the Bible says about it.
Speaker 5I always said it was calling using God for customer service. And needing help, needing prayer and that kind of thing.
Speaker 4Let's talk about some low-hanging fruit. The man after God's own heart, David and Goliath. Yeah. Well, the the easy story is, well, David didn't run from the giant. David went to meet the giant. David slew the giant. David told this nine foot nine inches, I believe, is what it comes to if you do the math. You know, when he met him in the field, he said, you know, Thou come to me with a sword and a spear and with a shield, but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. But before he did that, he stopped at the brook and he picked up five smooth stones. If you'll read further on, you'll find out that Goliath had four brothers who were also giants. David had faith that he was going to kill all five of them. That's right. Not just Goliath. And that is just resounding faith. You're a little ruddy boy, but you've got faith that Jesus is going to keep you and give you victory today.
Speaker 2Well, look at where David had already been.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 2David had already tore up the lion and the bear without a weapon.
Speaker 3He had something better than that before that. He had what they called the anointing. The anointing, yeah. He had the anointing from Samuel. Yep. That's the most important part of that whole story is he's got the anointing on him. He went from just being the shepherd boy to having anointing on him. And he heard this, and his brothers are talking smack. Shut up, David. Don't shut up. Shut up. And then he's trying to, they're like, pit on Saul's outfit. He's like, yesterday's abilities won't fit what my new covenant I have with God. I I got what God's got on me. I'm going to take him out. And that's faith. When you stand look at it, he took off running toward that thing. He came out there to take him on, to take him out.
Speaker 2He didn't say, Y'all know I'm supposed to be king. Y'all don't know this.
Speaker 4No. When the men said, Have you seen this man?
SpeakerYeah.
Speaker 2Yeah. What is this uncircumcised flisting? Yeah.
Speaker 3Who is it?
Speaker 2He ain't got no covenant. I got covenant. Yeah.
Speaker 3I got fresh oil on me. I'm anointed.
Speaker 4It said he grabbed a beard of the lion. Yeah. I can tell you, if you grab his beard, he's not gonna sit down and wait for you to smite him. No, sir.
SpeakerAnd you can't grab mine.
Speaker 2There was only two men in the Bible that that that killed a lion with their hands. Bare handed, yeah. That was uh David.
Speaker 5Daniel. Wasn't it Daniel the next one?
Speaker 2It was uh Samson.
Speaker 5Samson. Samson. We're gonna get to Daniel in a little bit. But you know that that all goes back to you know how how often they were having their faith tested too.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 5With those encounters, the bear and the lion. And like James 1, 2 and 4, counting that over joy. When you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete and lacking nothing.
Speaker 3Look at Daniel 3 17 and 18. That's where I was going next. I was pulling it up. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Oh yeah, yeah. They got through into a fiery pur furnace, and our God who we serve is able to deliver us. That speaks out like faith. Yeah. Our God is able. But if if not, let it be known to you, O King, that we do not serve your gods. That's right. He's able to save us. That's right. But even if he don't, we're not bound down to your gods. That's right. You know, they stood in their thing. And one of the greatest things that faith, you know, faith is in different levels. And I'll tell you this, you can grow in faith. Um there is a faith that grows. Um because people look at faith as this, you know, just a one cut shot deal. But I can tell you, you know, in my relationship, I've watched my faith grow over the years. I've watched my faith come into things. Um you know, I look at it in you know, several different layers. There's a level that if you can heal me. Man went to Jesus, says, if you can heal me, if you can heal me, let it be done. That's kind of like if faith. If faith. And then there's another level, I know you can heal me.
Speaker 2If you're willing. If you're willing to heal me. That's the hearing. Are you willing to heal me?
Speaker 3Or if you're the willing to heal me, faith. And then there's another level called I know you will heal me. I know you can heal me. That's right. There's another level. I'm I can give you all these scriptures in the Bible. I'm back all this up in just a second. And then look at the next one level is you see it the woman that got the the issue of blood says, she says, if I can just touch the hem of his garment, I shall be made healed. Then so she's proclaiming that. And then there's the next label. The next final level of faith, he has already. Yep. He has already healed my diseases. Are you hearing what I'm saying? It's not saying if he's gonna do it, he says he's already done it. Go look at Timothy, you can find that what he has already done. 1 Peter, what he's already done, 1 Corinthians, what he's already done. You can find all these scriptures that says what he's already done. So now I'm not wondering if he can do it, will he do it, might he do it? He's saying he has already. When you read the Bible and you say he says on the cross, it is finished. It is finished. That's right. You got to understand that perfect work was finished. He did it there. He had paid for your healing, he paid for your peace, he paid for everything you need at that moment. And you can look up, I think I'm doing a you know, getting a stermon on it together, but there's like I already found like 20-something places that it says he has already. Yeah. He has already. So then you look at that, it's like another level of faith. Like, well, son of a gun, that is true. He's already done it all. So you know, you now you're not wondering, well, you think he might do it. No, he has already done it. Now I'm just gonna he has already done it. You got to believe in it. Yeah, you gotta stand so you but you start confessing it. What is your says? You're moved by your mouth.
Speaker 5That's right. That's why I'm gonna say if you say to the mountain. That's where people feel is you know, we're telling them that he can do it and he will do it, but people are just like, Well, if he will. Yeah, maybe he will. Yeah. He already has. Yeah, you got to have you got to stand fast in that faith.
Speaker 2First John 5, 4. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. Faith is victory. We don't fight for victory, we fight from victory. We fight it says that we're seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. Yep.
Speaker 3Mm-hmm.
Speaker 5Look at um I think I'm saying faith too is what gives us our courage to stand up to the evil one.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 5I mean, you got to be able to do that. Well, you're fighting a good fight of faith. That's right.
Speaker 2You're not fight a lot of people fight faith. Yeah, they fight it. But we're fighting the good fight of faith. Faith, yep, that's right.
Speaker 4You know, he talked about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abinago. Daniel had his story in the Bible. You know, the king decreed that you couldn't pray. He knew the decree was signed, he knew it was the law, and he knew what the penalty of breaking that law was, but yet he knelt down and prayed three times a day.
Speaker 5Do it anyway.
Speaker 4He did what he was supposed to do. And what happened? They threw him in the lion's den. And then they hurried the next morning to go see, and there he is. And thought he was gonna be dead.
Speaker 2He just sat there like, oh, he had been up all night pacing the floor, worried about Daniel. Yep.
Speaker 4Faith keeps praying when everyone else is compromising.
Speaker 1Faith speaks out loud.
Speaker 3Joshua said, and the Lord said to Joshua, see, I have I given you Jericho into your hands. God said, I have given you the walls before they even fell. He was talking about victory a while ago.
SpeakerYeah.
Speaker 3Operating in victory. That carries you all the way back to Joshua, where he says, Hey, you got the victory before you even see it. We have the victory. The Bible says, have. That's past, have it already. That means it's mine already. You faith operates in another level. That's called another level. You're operating at a higher level of I already have it. I don't have a need. I already have a need supplier, as John was preached on the podcast before. I don't have a need. I have a God that supplies all my needs. I don't have sickness. I have a God that has already paid for my healing. And Peter, Peter, I have already have everything that I need. So when you get into that, you get to understand it's another level that, you know, God will do it. He's already done it. It's not if he'll do it. Maybe he'll do it. He already has done it. He has done it.
Speaker 5So but faith has time. That's why I think say a while ago, you got to have that faith to believe that it's happened. Yeah. But it, you know, I'm trying to think how to word this and not mess it up because you know, it don't happen right when you want it to. You got to keep that faith that it has happened and you got to sit there and wait to see it.
Speaker 3Mm-hmm. Oh you plant the seed and then you don't immediately sometimes don't immediately get fruit. That's right.
Speaker 2But you have Daniel said earlier that you're not gonna go out there and eat a peach the next day.
Speaker 5No, you got you got to keep water and you got to nurture, you got to prune that tree, you got to do things and you can see it.
Speaker 3You gotta be like blind Barkamaeus, though, and not refuse to be quiet about it. You gotta just keep speaking to that thing. Yeah. What did blind Barcamachus do? He kept on calling out Jesus, Jesus louder and louder the whole time. Have son of David, have mercy on me.
Speaker 5That whole goes that that goes back to the old saying you reap what you sow. I mean, the more you sow, the more you reap. I mean, you're not gonna go out there and just plant that one seed. Yeah. As soon as you see a peach on the tree, you can pull it off. Yeah. Or you can cut the tree down. You got to keep pruning it and keep going with it.
Speaker 4Yeah, sometimes you know our faith is tested by delay. So when Daniel prayed for 21 days, when the angel showed up, he said to him, He said, Fear not, from the first day thou didst set thy heart to understand and to chasten thyself before God, thy words were heard, and I am come for for thy words. The first day when he was started fasting and praying.
Speaker 5Right.
Speaker 4But the prince of Persia got in the way, and Michael had to come down to Archangel and do battle.
Speaker 2Well, you think 21 days was long to wait. Look at Abraham. Abraham had to call himself the father of many nations for 20 years before he received Isaac. I mean, you know, yeah, now faith is the substance of things hoped for. And we always want it right now. Especially this generation, this is a my way right over here. Don't talk about me.
Speaker 4You are the youngest.
Speaker 2I've had things happen immediately, and I've had things that took time. Uh, you know, and when the word comes, you believe it, you stand on it. Right, refuse to give up, refuse to quit. That's right. And keep your faith out there until it happens.
Speaker 3I've been seeing though there is things that you can do to speed things up, to process on faith. When you believe in God for some things, it's like you were giving an illustration earlier about that hole. You can start really getting into deeper because a lot of times, you know, you like you're waiting on God, but a lot of times it's you that He's waiting on. And the thing is, you can start maturing quicker, you can start doing more to get into prayer and fasting.
Speaker 5Fast and pray. Fast and praying pray, stay in his word.
Speaker 3Yeah, and the more you give to God, I can tell you, the quicker the answer is yourself in alignment. Yeah, alignment with God.
Speaker 5You gotta keep that gas tank full.
Speaker 3And you know, and here's the thing that we talk about some of these people that waited a long time in the Bible. You know, there's one thing we have advantage over a lot of them, and I'll say this we have a whole entire Bible here that me and you can pick up and toad around. Right. So we can look at them and see what happened, and we can, and then it says, faith comes by hearing and hearing. So we've got a Bible that we can grab this thing and keep reading and pumping it full in us not to mention we have the author and finisher of our faith, which is Jesus Christ. Yeah, we have a lot of things that they know.
Speaker 4And then we've got all these things that's right.
Speaker 2Well, Joshua 1 8 says, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth. Thou shalt meditate on it day and night, that thou may observe and do according to all that is written herein, for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
SpeakerRight.
Speaker 2You know, you it what it now I'm gonna put this, what's coming out of your mouth.
Speaker 3Yeah. If you're not if you're not you can hear the word all day long, you can hear this podcast and uh all day all night long. You can put it on repeat, but until you actually put words to back him behind your faith, faith speaks out loud. Faith is not quiet. That's right. I I get so sick, I mean, want to vomit sick when I hear people then I'm gonna have a quiet moment. I'm not gonna say anything out loud. Pray out loud, let it rip. I mean, you know, I was one of them people at one point in my life that I just have a moment of silence. Let's have a moment of silence. Now I'm like, no, that's not biblical. That's you know, Jesus says speak to the mountain. Yep. Faith speaks. Faith is loud, faith is doesn't care what everybody else thinks is like Moses. I don't care what you think. Shut up. I don't, I mean, you know, I don't care what you think. That's right. The people didn't care what you thought about what they had to say. They know they'd heard from God, and you're just gonna go with it. Life and death is in the power tone, like you just said. You're operating at another level when you're operating faith. It speaks. That's right.
Speaker 5Galatians chapter six, verse nine tells us, and let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not.
Speaker 3Yep.
Speaker 2That's right. Yep. If you faint not, if you don't, if you don't lose heart, if you don't if you don't give up. That's right.
Speaker 3Second Corinthians 4 13, and since we have the same spirit of faith, we also believe in therefore speak. Faith has a voice. Faith doesn't consistently speak the fear, it speaks what God says. So when you're speaking what the Bible says, you're quoting that Bible over and over again, you're telling what it is. Over and over again, it speaks loud.
Speaker 2It's not silent.
Speaker 3It's not. And I can't, I I don't understand why people, you know, they confess the problem, but they don't want to confess, you know, what faith is screaming out loudest. That Bible right there is what I'm gonna claim every time. I'm gonna get in the Bible and quote out the scriptures of God and what it says about my life. It says, Nothing shall be impossible to me. I mean, I'm gonna quote that out. I'm gonna quote things out over my businesses. You said, Lord, you bless the works of my hand. That's faith speaking out. I quote scriptures over everything I do because I'm not wrong when I quote what God said about me. That's how faith operates.
Speaker 5That's another one of them words I just looked up, just like one of the last podcasts we looked at how many times anger was in the Bible or form of the King James Version, faith is mentioned 247 times.
Speaker 1Yeah. It might mean something, hasn't it? It might.
Speaker 5The more it's mentioned to me, the more important it is. And that's why I like looking up little nuances like that.
Speaker 3Mm-hmm. Yeah. You know, don't throw away your confidence. Hebrews 10 35, therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great rewards. This is telling you not to give up on what you're believing for. You know, just because you haven't seen it, like these guys are saying, just because you ain't seen it, don't throw it away and say, Well, my children's never gonna get saved, my this ain't gonna never happen. Or you know, you keep on claiming what God says about you, you know.
Speaker 5Well Hebrews chapter 12, one and two in the ESV says let us run with endurance. Yeah. The race that is set before us looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith. If you don't let anything distract you and you keep your eyes on the Lord and keep that face strong, I can I don't know what's not and what's what is impossible.
Speaker 3And so with for with God nothing will be impossible. Luke 1 30 37.
Speaker 5Yeah.
Speaker 2For with God all things are possible. All things are possible, that's right.
Speaker 3With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible, what it says in Matthew 19, 26. So, you know, behold, I am the Lord God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me? That's what Jeremiah 32, 32 verses uh 27.
Speaker 2He said he woke up saying that backwards the other day to the numbers backwards.
Speaker 5Oh, yeah, you weren't out here. I woke up the other day and I was reading. I mean, I I woke up going, Jeremiah 26, verse 32, 26, 32. I went to the Bible, there is no Jeremiah 26, 32. Because I think it stops at 24 or something. So I've reversed the numbers and went to 32, 26, and 27 and read that. I was like, wow.
Speaker 3Is there anything too hard for me?
Speaker 5That's right. I mean, it was like I've told them guys, like, it's just like back when I was in the hospital, I give it all to God. Because nothing is too powerful for him.
Speaker 1He can handle all things. Yep. Looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith.
Speaker 3That's right. He's the beginning. He's the one that wrote it for us. He's the very foundation of our faith. You know, when you're standing in Christ, you're standing in faith in him. You're standing believing and trusting that he has a plan. I believe it says that in the Bible. I have a plan for you, a purpose for your life. That's right.
Speaker 2A good plan to prosper you.
Speaker 3A plan to prosper you, a good plan to give you great success. To give you great success. That's what God's saying. And I'm like, you know, when I see all these people low and down layout, I'm like, I don't know about that.
Speaker 2I've been reading the Bible. In Hebrews 12, right before looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, that first verse there, the last part of it, let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
Speaker 4Yep.
Speaker 2It's not a sprint. It's not it's not a sprint, but then again, it's also not sitting on the couch. No, you're moving. I think I'm not sure. Like we talked about in uh where it talked about in the Isaiah days that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. That's right. It ain't just sitting there waiting, it's a race you're running.
Speaker 5Well, you know, a lot of people know. Understand where they feel like they're losing their faith where they don't have enough faith, they need to look at what's blocking it. Fear, discouragement, discouragement, worldly distractions, like I was eat up with counterfeiting spiritual complacency, not staying in this word. Yep.
Speaker 3That's why you ain't got the faith. I I hear some people all the time, I don't have faith like you do. You have all the tools I have. That's right.
Speaker 2You okay. I'm just gonna say this. Uh spit it out. I have the same muscles in my body that every bodybuilder has. I was given the same muscles. That's right. They chose to work out. I chose cake. I chose brownies. They chose steroids and barbells and and and barbells and protein shakes. And I chose milkshakes. So there's a difference there. You can you can choose what you feed grows. If you feed your spirit, man, he grows. Your faith man has to grow. Like we talked about on another podcast. You can't just live on milk your whole life. At some point in time, you've got to get past that and get to the meat where you get in that word and you understand the promises of God. You understand that you are now the seed of Abraham through what Jesus done. He made you the seed of Abraham. Now all the blessings of Abraham, all the promises in that Bible, all 7,487 promises from God to mankind belongs to you. And you can take those promises and stand on them, like you said a while ago about the lady the T and the P in there. You know, tried proven. You know, there the Bible, God said, My word shall not return into me void. It will accomplish that which I set it forth to do. You know, I don't know if you don't have enough faith. You said faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Hearing, hearing, hearing. You go to church, well, I heard that before. There's a damn difference between hearing and listening. Exactly. You can hear that he that had ear, let him hear. Well, everybody that Jesus was talking to had ears, but it was only some that heard. That's right. They heard you can hear up here, but until you hear in here, it don't do you no good. That's right. Until you get it in here.
Speaker 5Well, you know another thing too, I feel like people I tell my boys all the time, you got to get your priority straight. If you want to be a follower of Christ and love the Lord, you need to pick up that Bible and cut off Netflix and cut off NBC and all that junk. Exactly. And getting that word. And you have faith will grow.
Speaker 4Yeah, what you put in is gonna come out.
Speaker 5That's right. I mean, get away from that crap you watch on TV nowadays with all the homosexuality and the cussing and all that mess on the drinking. I mean, as long as you're watching that, you're never gonna grow your faith. You can say what you want to. It's just like we've talked about boys one that goes to church on Sunday, and as soon as they leave to go get a six pack of beer to go and watch a football game.
Speaker 2It don't work that way. I looked at her, I said, every one of these people's alcoholics on this TV, they need to have an intervention.
SpeakerYeah.
Speaker 5I mean, it's just I mean, and that's the devil pushing that crap on people. Yeah.
Speaker 3I was just the old the old old stuff because I can't stand none of the new stuff. I'm like, just pull it all off.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 5I I I've always been a Star Wars and a Star Trek fan. Yeah. So we started coming up. I started what I watched old, old Star Wars and then went back through the next generation. They can decide what they want to be. Mray got on this Discovery, Star Trek. Discovery. I ain't two episodes in there. There you go, two dudes kissing them. Nope. Done. No, we're done. We're done. Mm-hmm. Don't push you, you ain't pushing that on me. Mm-mm. I don't know nothing to do with it. No. Mm-mm.
Speaker 4As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. And serve the Lord is not watching that.
Speaker 5And then I've tried to explain that to some of my family, too. Well, it's just TV. No, it's not. No. That's the devil pushing that message. That's the agenda. That's right. That's his agenda.
Speaker 3That's his agenda. So if he can get it in your head, get in your heart. They've slid it on for the last 10 to 15 years, and that's just little by little. That's his agenda. It's just to keep pushing it in. And it's time to keep moving your boundary a little further back.
Speaker 2A little further back.
Speaker 5If you're building true faith, you'll turn that stuff off and get away from it because all it's doing is eroding in your head your beliefs. Christians use excuses like, well, I'll just do it this one time, or it's just TV. That word just.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 5That's ruined to many people.
Speaker 2Well, if your neighbor was moving your property, if your neighbor was moving the property stake over just a little bit. Just an inch a day. Well, it's just a little bit. Just an inch a day. Just an inch a day. Or everything your property line would touch. That's right. You wouldn't have none. He'd take your whole property.
Speaker 3Or just an inch a month. Yeah.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 2Just a little bit at a time.
Speaker 4And that's how the devil was working it. Yeah. He didn't, everything we saw. A little compromise. That's right. Everything now you wouldn't have seen 20 years ago. No. Because they'd run them out a TV show. They wouldn't have done it.
Speaker 2When me and you went to school with somebody to come out the closet, we just stuffed them back in there.
Speaker 4Yeah, that's right. Oh, was it leaving the beaver? That's right. Was it leaving the beaver at that time frame?
Speaker 5Or even have a man and a woman in the bed at the same time? I love Lucy and all that all had separate beards. Yeah. And then you'd buy back in the 80s or 90s, they started bending drinking and smoking on TV, but yet then they started throwing homosexuality in on top of it. I'd rather see somebody drinking and smoking than I had that.
Speaker 4They have slowly moved the bar of morality to what they think is right. And we're not supposed to bend and move.
Speaker 2Oh no, no.
unknownNo.
Speaker 2We're not. We're not. We're called to be a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation that should show forth the praises of God who has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Speaker 5They're trying to get us to submit better ways and we'll be able to do that.
Speaker 3That's the devil's agenda. I'm just keep saying it's the devil's agenda. His whole plan is deception to get you in a little bit of a time. Love is love.
Speaker 4Mm-hmm. He gets us. I was reading me.
Speaker 3Yeah. I was in there listening to this guy today up there, and he had his rainbow flag around him minister. And he's like, We don't minister.
Speaker 4Yeah. Well, uh, uh one of the devil's ministers.
Speaker 2It's it's it's a new thing that they've got. They're gonna start teaching it in uh uh seminary uh on how to empty a church and how to go under.
Speaker 3Yeah. I love he's like, we don't know what God's real word is, and we don't know what his written word is. Are you stupid? That's what we're retarded. I was like, yeah, I know. But see, that's where the agenda is. He says, and he's up there, and this is Pride Month, and we are supposed to love one another. No, I'm thinking that's sin. That is the real word of God. We have it. The written word of God is right there. He's holding it. I got one in my lap, he's got one in front of it. We got a written word.
Speaker 2I got two of them right here. I don't even have flip pages.
Speaker 5I think I got three. I got one here. I pulled up with a computer right here, and I got one in my hand.
Speaker 2Yeah, we're gonna be tapping on this. I'm pulling up other scriptures.
Speaker 3The written word of God. So you've got these people that's even come into ministries, that's come in there to do this, and it's all over there, and they're lacking like it's okay. And I'm like, no, that sin is sin. That's right. What's wrong is wrong, and you cannot allow that to flow in.
Speaker 5You gotta flow in. I heard a good point the other day on why people started taking the book out of context. Because they want all the pestilence and plagues come over. Well, that's what it says in Revelations. Well, it's about 500 years ago, they started putting the numbers and chapters in it, make it easier for people to read. Before that, it was just like one big book. Yeah. So it's harder for like pastors to say, well, meet us halfway through Ecclesiastes or something and try to find the same page, and now people look at just that verse number and don't read the whole chapter or read the whole paragraph. Yeah. And they pull stuff out of context.
Speaker 2Another thing they'll do is they won't follow into the next chapter and the chapter before.
Speaker 4Wherefore, wherefore mean something. See what it's there for. That's right.
Speaker 3I mean it and if you don't understand something, go a little deeper and go check out what it means in the Greek. The Hebrew. That's right. Start a little understanding.
Speaker 2I'm big on Hebrew and Greek, finding out exactly. Quit ye like men. I'm like, men don't quit. Quit ye like men. But that back then the word quit didn't mean what it means now. Quit now means stop. Quit then meant equip yourself, engage.
Speaker 5Like we talked about a few podcasts ago. Fear. Engage. Fear now. People think the fear is supposed to be trembling in your boots and scared, but back then it meant in awe of God. And when it says fear God, it doesn't mean be in awe of him.
Speaker 2I mean that there's so many words if you look at them, the difference in what they mean now versus what they meant in like the six in 1611, whenever it was translated, and pull up the Hebrew and the Greek.
Speaker 3Yeah, just find the the chapter and verse that you want to look at and pull it up into Greek and then get it to bust down with all the things in there because it's a totally different language than what we have. That's right. And people don't understand that. This is written in the King James Version, and mine's New King James, I believe you've got a King James Version.
Speaker 5Well, even these New King James versions, I mean, that's what I've got here. Even these, we even in the original King James Version in 1611, there's words in there.
SpeakerYeah.
Speaker 5English words in there that don't even mean the same thing now as they did the first time.
Speaker 3Absolutely right. I get you. That's what I'm telling you. That's the reason it's important to look at a great.
Speaker 2Yeah, night means Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 5And I've got to the point now, I don't know if it's just me being crazy or what, but I even got I'll break down the pronunciation. Yeah. I mean, if I read a verse and it's got a colon in it or semicolon, I go back, man, I wish I would have studied English better in high school, but all now, what did that semicolon mean there?
Speaker 2You know, and people won't think about that. You also have to take into consideration that the punctuation might have been put in the wrong place whenever it was translated. It could have been.
Speaker 5It could have been.
Speaker 3That's the reason it's so important to go check out, like I keep saying, make study the Greek and the New Testament, Hebrew and the Old Testament, and check out what's being written in there. Because this is talking about faith and not. You know, faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God, and that's you know, you're diving even deeper into the study to know you.
Speaker 2Show thyself approved.
Speaker 3I want to know all I can know. Yes. I don't want to, I don't want to get up there in a pulpit or get on a podcast and start telling you something that I don't know about because I didn't study about it. It'd be like me trying to tell you how to work on something that I had no idea how to work on. It'd be like you trying to tell me how to work on a truck, wouldn't it? God, you better need more help than me. That would be the last one you'd want to call to be a mechanic. The last one.
Speaker 2That'd be like calling me to be a brain surgeon.
Speaker 3I wouldn't I wouldn't call his advice on that either. I could do that.
Speaker 2Once.
unknownNo.
Speaker 3Yeah. Once. Per person. Yeah. Once.
Speaker 4Once per person.
Speaker 3Double it passes to the next one.
Speaker 4I'm good, guys. You're kind of along those same lines. You're talking about faith and the one per person. You know, when when I when Abraham was tried, he put Isaac up as his offering. Oh, yeah. He knew, he was told that his seed would flow through Isaac.
Speaker 2Through Isaac shall your seed be blessed, is this one.
Speaker 4He trusted that God would raise him from the dead. He had already bought him from a dead place.
Speaker 2He had already bought him from a dead place womb.
Speaker 4Exactly, as a dead womb. Exactly.
Speaker 5Yeah.
Speaker 4Now that, you know, I mean, that's well, that's what God didn't.
Speaker 5That's faith, buddy.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 5Faith. That is true faith, right?
Speaker 4But then God provided him a sacrifice.
Speaker 1That's right.
Speaker 2And if you think about it, Abraham spoke that into existence before they ever went up on the mountain. He told him, he said, Me and the boy will be back. We shall return. And when Isaac said, Where's the sacrifice? He said, God shall supply himself a sacrifice. And he spoke that into it that that came to pass twice. The ram stuck in the thicket. But then the final sacrifice that God provided was Jesus. Because if Abraham was willing to kill Isaac. God stopped him. But said God said, You were willing to do it. I'm gonna do it.
Speaker 3He was fully convinced. Listen to this. I'm gonna make this point. He wasn't partially convinced. He wasn't mostly convinced. Fully persuaded. Yep. He was fully convinced. That's the thing with people that they say they're believing for stuff, but then they start talking a different talk than what they're actually saying they're believing for. Right. You know, faith, like we keep saying, it speaks, and you cannot keep being back and forth on your faith. You gotta stand on this mountain, I will die. That's how I look at it. I am dying on the if I have to.
Speaker 2I'm not moving off of it. You plant your seed and then you dist it up the next day.
Speaker 3Tell them about it. Disting up their faith. There you go there.
Speaker 2I'm sowing this seed in faith. By faith it's mine, and then the next day you either see them out there with the roundup sprayer or a disc behind the tractor, ready to ready to plow it in.
Speaker 4And kind of like I'm giving it to God. I'm gonna have faith. I'm giving it to God.
Speaker 2Hold on, let me get it. I can get it. Let me go check. Let me check it again.
Speaker 4Let me check it again. I'm giving it to God if I go. Let me check it again.
Speaker 5Well, I'm giving it to God, and you see them next day. How are you doing today? Well, I've been better.
Speaker 3Yeah, I've been better.
Speaker 5Somebody asked me that at church the other day, how you doing? I said, if I was doing any better, I'd be in heaven.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 4Bring it.
Speaker 2If I was any better, there'd be two of me.
Speaker 4That's why I always say if I was any better, there'd be two of me in the World Kingston. That's right, that's right. I'm doing great. 110. That's what I always say.
Speaker 2Great. That's right. Great. Doing awesome.
Speaker 4Yeah, you think about you when you talk about Noah a while ago, you think about that. Yeah. I mean, the man built a boat in the middle of nowhere. Took him hundreds of years.
Speaker 5In the middle of nowhere, with everybody around him calling him a fool. He's crazy.
Speaker 2He's lost. Could you imagine telling people it was going to rain and before then all of the water had come up from the bottom of the earth and never fell out of the sky?
Speaker 3That would be listen to this, guys. That would be like me going to church Sunday morning and say, all right, guys, the world's going to burn up. We're going to build a rocket ship. I don't know nothing about building a rocket ship. He didn't know nothing about building a boat. Like me going to church and say, we're going to build a rocket ship, guys, and we're going to take off the space. They're going to be able to do that.
Speaker 2Let me help you. I don't want this thing to blow up on us. Let me help you with this. I'll be on the boat. I'll be on the ship with you, brother. That's right. But I'm going to make sure she's running before I get home.
Speaker 3But do you get what I'm saying? That's it's really wild, crazy faith. Because he didn't know nothing about building a boat. He had to get all his instructions from God. Because he's not on the sea. That's right. He wasn't a sea person.
Speaker 5No.
Speaker 2He's hundreds of miles from the sea. Then he had to manage to get all of the animals. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 4Two of every kind.
Speaker 2Yep. To come.
Speaker 4And you notice you said they got two of every kind, which would be a male and a female? Never mind.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 4That sounds like.
Speaker 2But if you don't think that God created male and female, go get you a bull for milk and a rooster for eggs and let me know how you're doing in two weeks.
Speaker 3Man, that's a truth. You have steak and chicken one time.
SpeakerOne time. One time.
Speaker 5One time. And you won't be eating steak and eggs.
Speaker 3No. No. You have steak and chicken one time.
Speaker 2One time.
Speaker 5Hey. You know what, man, that's oh no. That's a whole nother podcast right here.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 5Yeah. You know, stuff like that, what I'm trying to build my faith is how to explain to people how that sin and try not to sound hateful about it. But you know, it's really easy to do. I've been told before, oh, you don't need to say that. No, I do need to say that. Exactly. That right there tells me I need to say that. Exactly.
Speaker 2I don't really worry about what a man then ain't supposed to say.
Speaker 5Right, not anymore. I mean, as long as I'm doing it right and saying it right.
Speaker 2Mm-hmm.
Speaker 5Yeah.
Speaker 4God loves you. Make no bones about it. God loves you. He hates your sin. That's right.
SpeakerYeah.
Speaker 5But he loves you. That's why, and I and I've tell people that on Facebook all the time when they when I make a comment on a post our prophet just kept scrolling, but I hear that love is love. No, it's not. I mean, because I'm not going to let my kids go start spitting on me and cussing at me and hitting me without them getting some kind of punishment because it's wrong. I'm not going to let them keep doing that.
Speaker 2And that though I've also learned that I don't have to correct everybody.
Speaker 5Well, that's right. That's right. And I'm not out to correct everybody.
Speaker 2Yeah, I'm not out of it. I'm just saying a lot of people feel like they have to correct everybody.
Speaker 5But my thing is a lot of people I argue with or people I know that claim to be Christians and be can't claim to be believers of his word, but yet they still want to be affirming. Yeah.
Speaker 2So we can't do that. Me and John Paul have a a thing where uh we we tell everybody we're busy. And when they want to know why, what what do you mean? Well, we're busy minding our own business. Too busy minding our business to worry about yours.
Speaker 5Right.
Speaker 2I mean, we love you, but our bus the Bible actually says live at peace. Live a quiet life, a quiet and peaceful life. Mind your own business and work with your own hands. So yeah, it the Bible says what's wrong. It does. But I don't and that that's what gets me so many people just have to say something.
Speaker 4Hey. Silence is uncomfortable. Right.
Speaker 5But it's golden. I've just gotten to the point in my life I don't like to see it pushed on everybody all the time.
Speaker 3Right. Oh well, it's being shoved down on next time.
Speaker 5I don't go over there to my neighbor's house and knock on his door and say, Right, you're wrong. You're wrong.
Speaker 3You just buy a Christian flag and put it out front.
Speaker 5That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2You know, to be a witness.
Speaker 5Well, see that, and you know, we talked about this on that last podcast. Last week, I mean, it's like you don't have to be confrontational. Exactly. And you got you got to stay cool and calm. We don't get angry with somebody talking about this good book just because they don't want to listen. I mean, it's like Jesus told his disciples to go out when they started spreading it, and then nobody wants to listen, knock the dust off your cloak and keep going.
Speaker 2Yeah. Mm-hmm. And just move on. Yeah. Mm-hmm. That's right. And that's that's exactly right. That's exactly right. Paul, you know, we're so we're called to be living examples of Jesus. That's to be Christ-like.
SpeakerThat's right.
Speaker 2Uh Paul said, Follow me as I follow Christ. Right. I I'm an example. Follow me as I follow Christ Christ.
Speaker 5See, well, a lot of times when I see something like that doing a comment on it, it's because somebody said, Well, Jesus, Jesus never said this. Well, no, wait a minute now. He did. Jesus told us to obey his father's commandments. So the first, the main important one is to love God and love thy neighbor. But he didn't say anything about love and say you had to sleep with all of them, no. That's right. He didn't say affirm their sins or none of that. I mean, you know, God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
Speaker 3Mm-hmm. But it tells you in the Bible that a man shouldn't lay with a man like he lays with a woman. That's right. And it says that. That a woman shouldn't lie with a woman.
Speaker 2In case you're wondering, it goes far enough to tell you you ain't supposed to lay with animals either, in case there's some freak like that watching. Right.
Speaker 4Well, totally unfair. Let's get back on faith. The faith of Abraham stood. The faith of Peter recovered. The faith of David faced giants. The faith that the Hebrew children endured the fire. The faith that Daniel survived the lions and the waiting. But the question today is not if their faith stood. It's does our faith stand? What would somebody say about us? And I I like to bring it back to this when I do my little um testament, someone I try to do during the days. Um you're a living, breathing, walking Bible. Does your fate stand so that somebody could see you walking in faith and build their faith up because of you? Could somebody see you and say, Well, I know he there's something about him. Maybe I need to go to that church or maybe I need to go to church. Because here's the other thing if you're believing the Bible, preaching the Bible, and not preaching this affirmation stuff, we're all on the same team. Yeah. That's right. And our goal is to get sinners saved. It's not to steal people from other churches. No. No.
SpeakerNo.
Speaker 4It's to get people in churches. That's right. Because the more fire there is for Christ, the more fire there is for Christ.
Speaker 5Yep. It don't matter what denomination, non-denomination, whatever, just get in church.
Speaker 4There's gonna be people to get to heaven, look around and say, Man, I never thought they were gonna be here. Then look at the other one and say, We're so and so. Yeah, we're so and so.
Speaker 5I thought they were gonna be here. Yeah. Now you get it, there's not gonna be a Baptist section. No.
Speaker 4That was man-made. Man-made.
Speaker 2We're all supposed to be the church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Speaker 3Religion, religiosity. Yeah. That's exactly right. That's a lot of religion. And you don't want to get me fired up. No, sir. I know we've been fired up on religion before the resolution.
Speaker 5It's the relationship, not religion. That's right.
Speaker 2Traditions made the word of God.
Speaker 5When you start introducing religion, you're introducing man-made traditions and laws and that kind of stuff, and that's not what it's about. There you go.
Speaker 3Not what it's about. You'll see me pop up real quick on that one. Because what religion has done is hurt the church. It really has. It has burned people out where they didn't want to come. And I, you know, I I don't agree with that. The Bible says about it. You're talking about standing. We were reading in uh Ephesians 6. And it says talking about putting on the whole armor of God, being able to stand the wiles of the devil.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 3For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, against principality as you covered that earlier. Therefore, take up a hole. And then having done all to stand, stand for therefore. Stand therefore. Keep on standing in your faith. Even when things don't look like they're changing, even like when all hell's against you, you gotta stand. Keep on standing, keep on believing, keep on trusting in God, quoting that word, holding on to what of God. That's Ephesians 6, 10 through uh 17. This will help you out, you know, listeners that are going through some things, quite quoting that word. Say, Lord, I'm standing on your word. I'm standing on what you're doing, and then quote scriptures and keep on quoting scriptures. It encourages you, it builds your faith. You can grow your faith. Then start finding out whatever you're believing for, what God has already done about that situation, um, and quote that over your life. Stand into faith, believe God that He has already done it, and um know that God loves you and He wants to do it for you. It's your faith that I always say like this the faith is the currency of heaven. If you're believing for something and you got faith, that's what you're using to to get well to believe God for what you need. That's the currency of heaven, that you're using faith to receive it. Faith you receive things, faith they received their sight. Faith they received, you know, the blind man faith received their sight. Faith that for the man that was lame that needed to get healed, he believed that God Jesus could heal him. I can show you, I'm not just saying this point that faith is what you how you, you know, the currency of heaven. I can prove it to you because throughout the Bible it shows you the people that had faith were the ones that got stuff. That like that's how they received from God was through faith. So you just keep on building your faith up, keep on standing in faith throughout everything that the world may present to us, like we've talked about tonight. You know, because people say this is an evil and dark world. No, we're called to be the light of the world. We stand in faith. If it's dark because you ain't shining your light. That's right. But you got some guys over here that's shining our bright light bright. We're not letting the world take over. We're taking over this region, we're taking over this county, the country. We're taking it over for Jesus, not for Bradshaw, not for John, not for Daniel, not for me. But Jesus is gonna take over this area because we're winning people for kingdom. That's what you should do. Stand strong in the faith. Start winning people over. If you don't like what's going on in your neighborhood, be the one that changes it.
Speaker 5That's right.
Speaker 3You've got a light on the inside. Greater is he that's in you than he that's in the world. You've got the power all the inside of you to take it out. Every darkness has to go because you have that authority inside of you.
Speaker 4Darkness cannot exist where light shines. That's right. Yeah. Exactly right. And that is a simple human and scientific truth.
Speaker 3And you can see that right here in this podcast. I was gonna say all these lights around here, you can see that. You don't even have hard shadows because they keep on right casting them all away.
Speaker 5That's right. I got every blind in here shut, so no outside light can get in here. The lights on and it is not dark. No.
Speaker 3Plenty of light. That's right.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 3So that's what you can do is if you don't like the things that's going on in your neighborhood and you think, pray about it, have faith, and then start being that light that everybody needs to see. Because you are the light of the world. Jesus lives inside of you.
Speaker 5That goes back to somebody I said earlier, too, but having faith helps you get rid of fear.
SpeakerMm-hmm.
Speaker 5Oh, yeah. Yeah. Overcomes fear. And I have a, you know, I see a lot of that in people. I mean, they want to believe and they want to do the right thing and read the Bible, but yet they they just can't get enough of that faith to get out there and put it out there to the world like we're doing, or even put it out there to their neighbor, or even sometimes even their own family. Yeah. I mean, they're scared to say anything. I mean, I used to be like that. I ain't gonna lie to you. Closet Christians. I mean, two years ago, three years ago, you wouldn't have heard me walking up to somebody in a grocery store and giving them my testimony and telling them about what the Lord Jesus Christ had done for me in my life. I mean, I've been there and I grew up in church.
Speaker 4It's like, you know, Michael Jordan didn't start off as the best player ever. That's right. He worked at it and he got better at it. Yeah, he got he got he got denied in high school. Exactly. The first time he tried out. The first time you talk to somebody about Jesus and about faith, probably ain't gonna be the easiest time you've ever done something. Yeah. But the next time is easier than the first time. The more you do it, the easier it is. Yeah. And before you're done, you don't you won't even realize it. You'll be sitting there having a conversation with people that you don't know if they're saved or not.
Speaker 5Yeah.
Speaker 4And you'll be talking about Jesus. You'll be talking about the good news. That's right.
Speaker 5Yeah. You want to tell them because the cup runneth over.
Speaker 4Exactly. You can't keep it inside. I know um when I told my dad years ago I was preaching, I said, So, so what did you do when you first started? He said, Boy, the first sermon I ever preached, he said, I I he said I started preaching. I think I preached to every critter that walked in the woods. He said, I just I had it was in me, I had to get it out of me. I had to tell something. Yeah. But it started off telling the woods and the animals. Yeah. And then it blossomed from there to his ministry while he was on earth.
Speaker 5Yeah.
Speaker 4And I think I don't know how many years ago it's been now, but I had to cook a hog and I was preaching the next day. That was the holiest hog I think had probably ever been on the face of this earth. I mean, he was on the grill, I preached him straight out of the coals. Preaching. Yes, sir. But I mean, it's it's in you, you got to get it out of you. It can't stay down inside of you.
Speaker 3Yeah. I started preaching in the nursing home. You got a captive audience. Yeah, they can't go nowhere.
Speaker 5Some of them audience.
Speaker 2You got a captive audience? You can start a prison ministry, they're not gonna run off people.
Speaker 5What you mean a captured audience? Or a captive audience.
Speaker 3They won't leave it to go nowhere, though. But I mean you had a place to minister stuff. I get where he's saying. You know, when I first started out in the ministry, there's a word on the inside of me, I had to let it go. I couldn't hold it in because I was studying. I was getting sermon after sermon after sermon ready, and I'm just ready to preach somewhere. And that was the words of my grandparents. They were like, there's no. I'm like, all right, by golly, I will. And I took off and went to Buville and I ministered out there several times right there in the hallways and in the different rooms and talked to them about the Lord, and I go from room to room to room, talking about the Lord. I had people in there I knew. So, you know, go somewhere and start ministering wherever you're at. Right. There's no excuse why you can't go minister.
Speaker 5I I found on my journey that it's the more the more I get into that word, the more I learn it, the easier it gets to talk to people about it because before I didn't have that confidence.
Speaker 2It's hard to tell somebody something you don't know.
Speaker 5Well, well, you know, I knew about it, but I couldn't say, well, you know, Mark chapter 7, verse 5 said this. And I mean, I still can't say all that now, but I know where I can go find it and look for it.
Speaker 3Don't uh don't feel bad.
Speaker 5Apples do not disturb is not working tonight for some reason. Yeah.
Speaker 3Don't look, there's a lot of times I don't know exactly what chapter and verse it is. Right. So don't feel bad about that even. And I've been doing it since I mean I've been a minister since 2015. I can't tell you all the chapter and verse. I can tell you a lot. Yeah. Learn a lot more. But you know, if you if you wait till you get perfect to be a minister, to minister to people. You won't never do it. That's that's what I that that's there. You go. You hit it on the hill. If you keep waiting, oh I've got to hit everything right. Yeah. No, if you'll start wherever you're at.
Speaker 5That's right. That's like when me and Marie first got married. My daddy was like, when you ever gonna start having having me some grandbabies, I was like, I can't afford it. He looked at me and said, if you ever week to afford to have a kid, you'll never have any.
Speaker 2Yeah. Well, the big the biggest thing you hear, well, I'll get saved when I get my life straight. Oh.
Speaker 4You get saved too get your life straight. That's right. That's right.
Speaker 5I mean, that gives me chill bunch thinking about that before. I remember laying in that road down there about to die. Yeah. I mean, I can't imagine somebody leaving here without being saved.
Speaker 2That's what that's that that's what I was saying. But you know, and the more you've got in that word, the more confidence you have in speaking that word. Because you know you've got it deeper on the inside of you because there has been a change in you. Yep. And therefore sharing it gets easier and easier because the that's like if somebody had had talked to you two days after you met Murray. Could you have told them as much as you can today about her? No. That's what I'm saying. As you continue your relationship, like I said yesterday, if you continue your relationship, you get to know them better. And it's easier to tell somebody something that you've not.
Speaker 5Next month we'll be married 33 years, and I still don't know uh know everything.
Speaker 3Oh, you don't. Sure change it if you ever think you do. Yeah.
Speaker 4Should change it everywhere. Well, congratulations early. Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah. Yeah. So man told God he wanted to build uh his wife wanted to go to ho Hawaii and he wanted God to build a highway. And he said, No, he said, uh God said, I don't think that he said you got anything else. He said, Well, help me understand women. God said, You want two lanes or four. You want two lanes or four.
Speaker 3So, um did you hear it?
Speaker 1I didn't hear it either. We heard it earlier.
Speaker 5Oh, I know why we didn't hear it.
Speaker 4Oh there we go, you delayed.
Speaker 5Sorry, folks, your drummer's a little slow. He's a little slow. Yeah.
Speaker 4But the more your relationship grows, the more your faith grows. The more your faith grows, the more other people see it. And that's the end goal.
Speaker 5That's when your light starts shining. Exactly.
Speaker 4Yeah. That's right. Yeah. And that is the end goal. Yeah. You know, like we we tell folks all the time we're there's ministry jobs for everybody. Yeah. Yeah. You know, like we talked about earlier, I can't remember if it's today or the other podcasts.
Speaker 5Called to do more. I mean, it tells us.
Speaker 4Well, like I said on one podcast, it's the body of Christ. Yeah. And if you think about the body, every part of the body is here for a purpose and a reason, and every part has a job.
SpeakerYeah.
Speaker 4Now, my hair might be falling out of the top of my head, but at one time the hair that was there had a purpose. Yeah. You know, you don't believe me, shave it all off and go stand outside in the sun.
Speaker 3You are everybody has a purpose in the body, and you know, to do more and to get involved and to the church is the whole point in the body, not just in the church, but doing your work. You know, let your light shine. Faith is speaks loud. That goes right back to what we're saying. Faith speaks loud. Don't tell me you're saved. Don't tell me all that. I mean, you're you're I'll see some fruits coming off of that thing. You're gonna get wide open for Jesus.
Speaker 2You shall be known.
Speaker 3Yeah. That's right. You're gonna be known by it.
Speaker 2Yep.
Speaker 5So well, guys, this has been another good one. We're gonna iron 21 minutes. That's awesome. Yeah. This is the format I like too. We just we might get off topic. Oh, yeah, we're going to. But we get something out of it, too. Yeah. I mean, I do. I do too. And I'm hoping everybody out there listening get something out of it.

Speaker 5And they're all right here. Exactly. Every last one of them. Every one of them. All right there. Well that being said, I got a nice long Bible verse to read at the end of this one. And then John Paul's going to close us out with a word of prayer. Um tonight I'm going to read Titus chapter two, verse eleven through fifteen. For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lust we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from every lawless deed, and purify for himself his own special people, zealous for good works, speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Lord, let this word reach out and grow their faith to know you who you are and have that relationship with you. Lord, we thank you for it. In Jesus' mighty name we pray.
