In a world where deception reigns, how do we discern the truth from the devil's counterfeit? Join Ray Bradshaw and his insightful guests Jon Paul Murphy, John Quinn, and Daniel Bell from the World of Faith Ministries Church as they unravel the intricacies of spiritual deception and the critical importance of recognizing falsehoods in our lives.
This week, Ray kicks off the discussion with a powerful reading from 2 Corinthians, highlighting how Satan disguises himself as an angel of light to lead us astray. Together, the panel explores the subtlety of deception, revealing that it often comes not as overt evil, but as alluring falsehoods that seem harmless. You'll discover how counterfeiting works in the spiritual realm and why it’s essential to guard against it.
We break down key insights such as:
- The stark contrast between the life-giving message of Christ and the destructive nature of the enemy.
- Real-life analogies from hunting that vividly illustrate how deception operates in our daily choices.
- The dangers of counterfeit salvation and the misguidance of relying on good works without true repentance.
- The importance of sound doctrine and the hazards of churches that affirm sin instead of promoting transformation through Christ.
Why does this conversation matter? Because the stakes are high: failing to recognize spiritual deception can lead to a life devoid of true fulfillment and ultimately, eternal consequences. This episode serves as a clarion call for believers to seek truth and authenticity in their faith.
Perfect for anyone feeling lost in a world filled with conflicting messages, this episode is essential listening for those yearning for clarity and strength in their spiritual journey. Tune in, and arm yourself with the knowledge to recognize the real from the counterfeit.
One of my favorite things that a lot of people ever look to me is the adulterous woman. Pharisee brought her up there and said, Moses' law said we should stone her, and Jesus said, Ye without sin cast the first stone. Everybody walked off. Because there was nobody there if not perfect. Exactly. But he looked to her and said, Go and sin no more. Right. He didn't say keep living your life the way you want to live it. He said, Go and sin no more. Welcome to the Testament's Faith Podcast. I'm Ray Bratchall, and joining me again this week is John Paul Murphy, John Quinn, and Daniel Bell from the World of Faith Ministries Church in Kenansville, North Carolina. And today's topic is the devil's counterfeit. I'm going to start off reading 2 Corinthians chapter eleven, verses 13 through 15. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Not obvious evil, but deception. Trying to make you feel good about things and making you feel good about the decisions you make.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. He he's got a counterfeit. He can't do it straight up. That's right. Because if he put it in your face, you would know it. You know, in John 10 10 it says the thief cometh not but for to kill. Still I I messed that up. It's to steal, kill, and destroy. Destroy, yeah. I am come that you might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. Well, there's your two your difference, right? I mean he's one's coming to kill, steal, and destroy, the other one's coming to give you life, life more abundantly.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_03So are you gonna run towards somebody that's trying to kill, steal, or destroy you?
SPEAKER_06No. I don't think so. Well that goes all the way back to Genesis. Exactly. Very the very first people on earth. Deception. Mm-hmm. I mean that he did not strangle even force the fruit in her mouth. He deceived them. I mean, that that was that was where the deceit started.
SPEAKER_03But did he say?
SPEAKER_06Right. But did God did God say you can't eat from the city? That's right.
SPEAKER_02He started questioning God's word. He mixed truths with lies. Mm-hmm. I mean he was doing everything he can. He didn't exactly hear what they want to hear.
SPEAKER_03That's right. And and you have to understand for a counterfeit to work, the original has got to have value. Right. You know, you don't counterfeit monopoly money. No, you counterfeit real money. It's and it's gotta look real. It's gotta feel real. It's gotta sound real. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_05It reminds me like duck hunting. Like we set up we go out and set up big spreads and to look just like you know, we got duck decoy up on the table, but we set up sometimes sixty to seventy-five ducks, sometimes a hundred ducks, and then we crawl into a hole and we call them. We sound like the duck that we're trying to shoot, we look like the duck that we're trying to shoot, we've got everything laid out. And to that duck, he's wings wide open, coming in, soaring down. He thinks that we're a big pot of ducks and it is safe here and it's okay. That's the same thing the devil does, is everything's okay. Everything's fine. Everything's fine. And the last thing that duck hears is us getting up and us shooting him down out of there. And that's the same thing that the devil do to people. He'll use a counterfeit that looks like looks good. Oh, it's okay to do this. You're fine to do this. You're everything's come come on over here with us and everything's fine. And then before you know it, it's cut them down. Cool. And then it it's too late.
SPEAKER_04The duck is is too late for the duck. Once that safety clicks off, that's it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Done. Well, I mean, you do the same thing with turkey hunting, same thing with about any kind of hunting. I mean, the dove hunting, I mean, you use a decoy. That decoy looks real enough that turkey will come over there and fight it. I mean, I've seen them do it with deer decoys as well, you know. Well, I mean, you use a smell.
SPEAKER_05Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03You know, you smells like him, looks like him. Yeah. Years ago, I was hunting behind Cogentrix, and uh I had a there was a in the swamp. Yeah, it was a huge track. And I mean, I scraped mine like you wouldn't believe. I had 1069 and I walk back in this old train trailers that comes up to the path, and I'm dragging the scent along there, and I come out where I'm gonna be at, and I'm coming up the path walking straight to where I got my blind at, and I thought to myself, I said, self, if this stuff works like they say it does, I probably need to turn and go sideways so that deal turn broadside to me instead of looking right at me, coming to me. So I turn sideways and walk away, turn sideways and turn sideways. And I crawl in my ground blind, and ain't long here. He comes out like a dog on a trail. He's coming right down that tanks, and I realize he thinks this is the real thing. He is bird dogging this scent. And sure enough, he comes right in, turns broadside to me at 75 yards, and I got a 30 out six in a blind with me, so we are plenty close enough to do it. I mean, and that's that's what the counterfeit does. Yeah. You know.
SPEAKER_05It looks the same. Same thing like a fishing lure. That's right. I mean, we don't buy a stick and put hooks on it and throw it out there in the water to try to fish with. You're gonna buy a lure that looks like a minna or a worm, a wacky worm.
SPEAKER_06If he looks like he's wounded, that's even better.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, if he looks like he's a little bit hurt, and we're gonna jig him across that water, and we're gonna, as fishermen, we're gonna try to make that fishing lure look just as much like a minor coming through that water as we can. We're gonna pull that pole like this, and we're gonna pop it a little bit and we're gonna pull it just through there, the same way the devil does. He's gonna look like the real thing. But John tells us in 1 John, you know, every in the beginning was God. Everything that was made was made of God. So everything that he has to use, you gotta already know is a counterfeit. Yeah. Because God made everything.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_05So you gotta understand God made it all, and then he just uses counterfeits along the way to try to get people confused along the way.
SPEAKER_02And that made me think about something, because that way back when we when I still lived up there in Wallace, there was a little pond not not far from my house, and my brother-in-law and myself would go there all the time and fish. And used to be able to buy this little bowl of artificial beet. I think I can't remember who made it. But man, they would tear that stuff up and they'd get in a feeding frenzy every time you poured it in there. But when we ran out, we'd done the devil's counterfeit. We could man, they they got so used to that thing hitting the water, you could put a blade of grass on a hook and they were just getting it. I mean, if you think about it, that's what happens in the world. Yeah. You just feed somebody a little bit of something until you have them hooked, and then you put to pull an old beaten switch on them.
SPEAKER_05Yes, sir. And then and before they knew it, you had a hook in their mouth. That's right. Just pulling them out. Pulling them out.
SPEAKER_03And it was too late for that fish in. That's right. And that leads us right to one of his counterfeits, which is like a counterfeit salvation. If you watch the secular world, they tell you to be a good person. Oh go join a church and become religious. Yeah. Religiosity never, never saved a soul.
SPEAKER_02I've heard my whole life that the devil's sitting right there in church with you. Mm-hmm. I've heard that my whole life.
SPEAKER_03He said they say, Do enough good works and be kind. Follow your heart and live for today. God didn't say that. God didn't say about religiosity in John 14, 6. What did he say? He said, I am the way, the truth. No man cometh to the Father but by me. So all this other stuff that the world's telling us or telling people, they're just trying to draw them in with tactics. You know, God was a good person. Yeah. He he gets us. Yeah, he does get us. It removes repentance. Exactly. They're moved to repentance that's required.
SPEAKER_06Right. Mm-hmm. Luke 13 3, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. That's why I use that an ad analogy a while ago. It's like putting a bar in an AE meeting. Yeah. I mean, if you got somebody that's always affirming sin but trying to spread the word of God, I mean there's nothing in that Bible that says that we need to affirm sin.
SPEAKER_03No, that's so I was talking to somebody the other day and they were telling me they were trying to find a church and I always, you know, saying we got a good church. We we're welcoming, you know, we're we're not gonna look down on folks. And uh but this person's not close by, and I said, you know, what you really need to do is make sure you find you a good God-believing, you know, Bible-believing church. And they were like, you know, what a problem I have is I had family members that went to church and the church looked at them differently because they were different and ostracized them and ran them out and and it made me so mad. I mean I could have bit nails into. I mean, this is a church. This is supposed to be the place you go to find salvation and to go find restoration and and to meet other like-minded folks, and you walk into the building, because that's all it is, it ain't a church, it's just a building. And they'd run you off. Now, what are you gonna do next time when they if they try to come to our church? Are they gonna walk in the door open-minded and ready to seek the Lord, or are they gonna walk in going, Who's gonna pick on me today?
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_02That's another thing too, uh you gotta look out for people that if you're if you're preaching from that Bible and telling somebody to say comes in your church that's, I don't know, homosexual, mm-hmm, and you start preaching against it, you're not picking on them. You're telling them they're living in sin. Right. So it all depends on how they take it sometimes. If they get up and walk out, that's on them. Exactly.
SPEAKER_06It depend it depends on the situation. People get offended very easy to stay in time. You might not it it depends on whether they were really being singled out or if it was Right. Now you know what they were being preached against because the gospel don't change.
SPEAKER_02Right. You can't you can't call somebody out.
SPEAKER_06Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02You know, yeah, hey you back there on the third pew, you know, you shouldn't do that, definitely, but I mean you if you don't even know there's some people you can't even look at and tell. Yeah. But if you're preaching, you see them get up and walk out, then you'll do.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02But if they walk out, there's they're not seeking salvation or repentance.
SPEAKER_03No, no. And that's and that's how people are. They they want to hear what they want to hear. They don't want to hear good sound doctrine. They want you to affirm their sins and that it's okay for them to live in their sins.
SPEAKER_02No. That's just like my one of my favorite things that a lot of people ever look to me is the adulterous woman. Pharisees brought her up there and said, Moses' law says we should stone her. And Jesus said, Ye without sin cast the first stone where everybody walked off. Because there was nobody there was not perfect. Exactly. But he looked to her and said, Go and sin no more. Right. He didn't say keep living your life the way you want to live it.
SPEAKER_03He said, Go and sin no more. Exactly, exactly. And that's, you know, there's a lot of religions and there's a lot of religiosity that are sending people by the busloads to hell. Yeah. Because they believe what they're listening to because they're in a church.
SPEAKER_06Right. They want to they they want to exalt their self.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06They want what this is what people want to hear that what you're doing is okay. They want to hear that everything's all right. It's clearly nowhere in the Bible.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_06Nowhere in the Bible. It don't say express yourself, it says be transformed.
SPEAKER_05Right. Deny yourself and follow me.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. But the thing is the old flesh I'm on I'm on tell you, the flesh is against God. I mean it that it it's it says in the Bible that our flesh is is contrary to the spirit. It's contrary to God. Well, we're supposed to what? Crucify the flesh. You're everywhere in the Bible it it talks about dying to self, dying to flesh, and living in the spirit, walking after God, being transformed into his image.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. And if you're going to one of those churches that affirms your sin, that's exactly where the devil wants you to be. That's right. Because then he doesn't have to worry about you.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_03You are not gonna save souls. No. You're not gonna get saved yourself, and you're gonna join him in hell.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Be happy. Exactly. Be happy.
SPEAKER_02Well, you know, a lot of uh today too, we have a lot of, in my opinion, counterfeit worship.
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02With with different, well, we said religions. Mm-hmm. I mean, like in Nexodus, I don't have to read all this, but you know, when when Moses was on the mountain receiving the Ten Commandments, the people down there thought Moses weren't gonna come back, so they went to Aaron and needed some way to worship God. So Aaron told him to get off the earrings and everything else, and he made the golden calf.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And they would they they would worship God through the golden calf. Well, there's other religions today that someone, the largest in the world, that worship God through another person because they think that's melted that calf down and made them drink it. So you know, they they think they can pray to this one this one deity now and and that they carry their prayers to God and then it don't work that way. I mean, that's a false religion. Exactly.
SPEAKER_06You've got churches now that that that worship the hem of his garment because the woman got healed by by touching the hem of his garment. People will make a religion out of anything.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't you can't claim to like you can't claim to worship God through something. I mean, god God is we're able to go straight to God. Mm-hmm. I mean, we don't have to go through the iPad or a golden calf or anything else.
SPEAKER_06Or the high priest or the throne of grace. Yeah. Through what Jesus did. We no longer by his what Jesus did, we no longer have to have a priest atone us for sin. We he it says he is our mediator. Right. He is the link between us and direct directly to God.
SPEAKER_02Yep. In Matthew chapter four, Jesus tells us right there when the devil had the devil had him up on the mountain. Away with you, Satan, for it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only you shall serve. Nobody else.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. And the devils always want to worship in Isa in Isaiah 14, 13 and 14, he said, For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit also upon the mount of uh congregation in the sides of the north, I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the most high God. That's right. Worship belongs to God alone, but five times the devil said in his heart, I will. I will. Not thy will, I will. He wanted worship. He desired worship.
SPEAKER_06Sounds like people today.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06Don't it? Yeah. I mean, sound sounds like people today. I mean, you got people now calling exactly what Isaiah 520 said. They they call woe unto them that call evil good and good evil. I mean it. Just in case you didn't know, Isaiah was a couple hundred years before Jesus. So he he predicted this way back out there.
SPEAKER_05I would just want to go a little deeper than any of y'all have. I think that I think that not only y'all I mean, I think as a group here, you're looking at the people that are just getting caught up outside of that. But what about the people that's right there smack dab in the middle of any church, not just outside of any other religion or any uh any other churches, but I'm talking about like what even in a in a spirit-filled born-again believing church, you can get deceived in a heartbeat by the wiles of the devil. Now look at this. I am going to. But m Mary and Mar Martha had Jesus in the house. And Mary was tending to Jesus, and Martha said, Hey, you come you tell her to come with me and help me because she was wanting to make a meal, and she was too dang busy to realize that Jesus was standing there. Yep. And that's the problem, one of the counterfeits that I see all the time, even more so where I'm at, where I'm at, is people are, I'm busy. I got so much going on, I can't get nothing done. But you're too busy for Jesus, you're too busy for the guy that gives you the very next breath. Right. That's the thing that I see is the biggest counterfeit of them all to me as as a minister is that I hear all the time, I'm busy. I'm too busy. I'm too busy. I hope on the final call, God don't start picking everybody else up and says, I was too busy to go by your house. I'm keeping them moving. Uh you know, I was rapturing all everybody else up, but I was too busy when I come by because I see that's a counterfeit cleans out to people like because I was one of them that bit into this counterfeit and I'm saved. I mean, I I didn't miss Jesus, but I missed being too busy to do what he wanted me to do. It's not that I was on the way to hell for it. Like, you know what y'all saying. You're like, a lot of these things I see that y'all talking about like you're you're gonna best hell why didn't I like y'all talking about the real deep stuff, and I'm like, but there's also a way to miss him.
SPEAKER_06You can miss him because of a counterfeit that you got all this stuff going on. You you don't have time for it. You can be too focused on something in the church, a situation or or something that you do in the church. Yeah. Like, well, like you said, I'm I'm too busy cooking this meal, getting this ready for Jesus. Yeah, to be in church. I'm too busy. I I'm too busy doing this to be in service. I'm I'm too busy I I I know where you're going. I've seen that. I've seen that horrible. I'm too busy, I'm too busy doing building my house to to pray in the spirit to get clear direction on where I need to go from here. I'm gonna stay in one geographical location. Yeah, but people I'm not going to go nowhere and seek the spirit.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, people I see that a lot of times, and it it really I guess uh because I'm so hungry for God and it I see that and it really tears my spirit up, and it's like you were too busy, you were too busy for God, you're missing him, man. And that's it really tears me up on that side. But that's a counterfeit that the devil throws that people don't realize I feel like is a strong one, that people just look, oh man, I I've I I'm saved, I'm going to heaven, praise God. And then they just move on with their life. And they don't care about the the work that needs to be done for God's kingdom. They don't they forsake dissembling. Yep. Yeah. They don't they don't care about what needs to happen because that's not in their business and their lineup.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it just it don't it don't stop at the baptism and accepting Jesus Christ. Like you said, you got to carry on that work. Exactly.
SPEAKER_03Because like you said, and you've said it several times, and I've heard you say it a time or two too. If all it was was to get saved and go to heaven, as soon as I said it, I should have dropped dead and been gone.
SPEAKER_02I listened to a podcast, I listened to a podcast this morning, and he called it a quiet Christian. Mm-hmm. Well, I've I've been saved, and you know, I don't have to say anything to anybody about Jesus.
SPEAKER_06What about when you get to heaven? What about when you get to heaven and God looks at you?
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06Why come so-and-so ain't here? What were you doing? Well, you know, I was busy. Yeah. You know, I I just want to see you whenever you get there standing before God and you tell him I was busy.
SPEAKER_05I would I would fall down on my face and I would cry. I never got a river to talk to you. I would be so upset.
SPEAKER_06I mean, I I wonder if the I you know, I hadn't thought about it like that. I wonder if these people are gonna tell God they were too busy. I would I would just fall down on my face when he asked me that question.
SPEAKER_02That's one reason I mean chillbumps thinking about it. That's one reason I agree with you started this podcast is because I don't know, I got fifteen hundred friends on Facebook. Mm-hmm. And I'm like, man, if I get on Facebook and tell my testimony and Bible verses and stuff like that, I'm hoping I can reach somebody.
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02I mean, because I can't see all fifteen hundred at once. Mm-hmm. But I'm hoping one day they'll come across these videos we're doing.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02You know, because you know, I d I know I know a lot of people that probably hadn't accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I don't have to get up with them and call them and I don't have their phone numbers. I don't have everybody's phone numbers.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_02No. But we got this platform. I kinda that's why I'd start to use this platform to hopefully change all that.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. And so that's you know, Second Timothy 3.5 goes right along with what he's talking about. You know, you're sitting in church and it says that it had a a form of godliness, but like the power thereof. You know how you get the power? I'm fixing to leave this altogether. The way you get the power is to seek God's face. Right. It's through these other things that we've talked about on these other podcasts. You know, the the wiles of the devil, we could have renamed this from the devil's counterfeit to trickery or something. Right. Because like this thing right here, it'll go off all the time. It'll vibrate because you put it on silent because you're in church. But people still text. Then they know you in church from this time to this time, but they still they're gonna still gonna text you while you're in church and it's gonna take your mind off of what. You need to have your mind on on something else. And then I n something I have a real problem with, you know, it's like we had a kid saved Sunday in church, a a youth. Praise the Lord. I looked I looked at Christie when he came up, I said, Did you see that? She said, I said, That day kid just got saved. And I'm praying for him the whole time as he's gonna be, you know. You you have your your people are sitting in church and they give the altar call and they're like, Well, they look gonna look down at their phone. They're looking to see what John's wearing today and what John Paul's wearing today. And no, no, that's not that is the absolute worst thing to do. That is one of the wiles of the devil. Right. It is something to keep your mind busy and take you away from the power thereof. You should be praying while all those people are up there because there's a tug of war in the spiritual realm that your prayers may help conquer.
SPEAKER_02I've seen in churches too when they do order calls, they tell everybody to bow their heads. I say, you know, I don't know if they're doing that to to keep from shaming the person that's walking up there, but man and me, I wouldn't want everybody to be praying for me as I'm walking up there and feel that power in that whole church. So it's like if you're ashamed of me, I'll be ashamed of you.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. And that's the run reason that we started doing the walk up there is to to be bold about you know coming to Christ, because the Bible tells you to be bold of coming before the throne of God. And it also tells you if you're ashamed of me, I'll be ashamed of you. So don't be ashamed. You know, that's one of the things we push. And I know it's tough. And in fact, even our church, I'm like, you know, I've got certain people that when somebody comes to get saved, I can look their way and they're coming too because I don't want anybody to, you know, come up there.
SPEAKER_03They don't want to take that walk alone.
SPEAKER_05That walk alone. You're not gonna make that walk alone. I'm gonna make sure of it. Especially if I'm ministering, I know I've got three people that I look at, and the only thing I gotta do is like that, and they'll come up to be with that person because I don't want nobody to ever be alone when they're up there to make that long you're gonna have somebody there with you, is what I'm saying. Yeah, well I mean they're showing them.
SPEAKER_02And they shouldn't be alone. Somebody new like that. I mean, because you know they need they need that moral support and that backup. That's right.
SPEAKER_05And that's what they have. They have the at our church, I make sure I've got a couple people to to be there just to stand there with them. If you need somebody, hey, we're here, and I'm there with them, you know, or John or Daniel, whoever's there, but I try to make sure that because people's like, that's a long journey to the front sometimes. And I'm like, it is a long journey, but if you make it to that front, I promise you who's gonna meet you there.
SPEAKER_03I promise you there's gonna be somebody to meet you there. I actually discussed this with somebody the other day, and um he's like, Yeah, well, you know, duh, there's another church I go to, and he'll do an altar call and then he'll tell everybody to bow their heads and close their eyes, and it sometimes it makes it easier for them to come forward because everybody's not looking at them because remember what I said earlier about the other church the person went to that judged the people in the church that weren't the high class upper echelon and didn't wear the same dresses and suits. So if your church is that way, people aren't going to come forward. But every altar call I've ever been in growing up in the Baptist church I grew up in was always every head bowed, every eye closed. That's right. But you know, there is something to, you know, going forward, that's what we're supposed to do. I mean, you're supposed to make a conf a profession of your faith.
SPEAKER_06Here's one thing that we've stressed to everybody in our congregation. If somebody smells like alcohol when they come in or like pot or you know, whatever, do not, and I mean do not say anything if they don't dress like you. Say nothing. That's right. Hug them, hug them, tell them you're right where you need to be. We've been praying for you. We're glad you're here. You are the one we've been praying for. We love you. Have a seat, welcome you in and take your seat. Smile. It don't matter what you smell like. We do ask that you wear clothes. Do you prefer that?
SPEAKER_05If you don't, we'll put a sheet around you. That's right. I'll throw you a sheet. There you go.
SPEAKER_06If that offends you, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. You won't have to be offended with the sheet around you.
SPEAKER_02Get a word of faith blanket. That's right. We got the money. Exactly. Exactly. We will throw one around you. I got Galatians chapter six here, verses six through eight. I like reading this one because it says, let him let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the spirit will of the spirit reap everlasting life. I mean that that one right there, do not be deceived, God is not mocked. That goes right back to some of that stuff we were talking about earlier about how some of the churches are affirming and how people are looking down on Christians that preach from that Bible because they're not saying that well, you know, love is love. Jesus loved everybody. He does, and I love everybody. But he also hates the sin. That's right. But then again, Jesus hated the sin.
SPEAKER_03I love your soul, I love your person, but I don't love your sin. That's right. And y you're not gonna mock him by putting idols before of him. No. And whatever you value, and this goes back to the folks from that are saved and going to heaven too. Right. Whatever you value the most in your heart becomes your idol. That can be money, it can be success, it can be entertainment, it can be the show you watch on TV, it can be the football game you watch, it can be your career. If you rather go to work on your vehicle, your possessions, your children. I was about to turn around. I was gonna say that, but I was gonna turn around so I wouldn't be looking at the camera.
SPEAKER_06Grandchildren.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_05Whatever you put the highest value on.
SPEAKER_03That's right.
SPEAKER_05Whatever. Whatever it takes to place.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_05Whatever it is.
SPEAKER_03And he will not be mocked.
SPEAKER_02That's right. And I and I and I think mocking him again too is people that take that Bible and take it out of context and just take three words out of a verse to fit their needs.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Boy, that burns me.
SPEAKER_06You know, they should have talking about what you were talking about earlier. You know, they should have put a scripture in there that says something about you know, about I I'm God and I'm I'm you know, I'm a jealous God. Yeah, they should have. They should have said it, you shall have no other gods beforehand. They should have put that in front of the Ten Commandments, I think. Yeah, yeah, you need to find that. Yeah, yeah. They should have put it in the Ten Commandments.
SPEAKER_02You know, I think I think they should have put something else in there too about changing that word, too. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think I think I think that's like every pestilence should come upon you and all that's all he's pledged.
SPEAKER_06Maybe if they would have put that in there, people wouldn't do it so much. Exactly what Paul said. Let that man that be it, that addeth or taketh away, let that man be a cursed.
SPEAKER_03And maybe if it had said something like, Neither's there salvation by any other name. Yeah. Maybe if you said there was only one name, only one name under heaven, maybe people would understand.
SPEAKER_06And all of these maybes, if you look it up, we hope you do. They're there.
SPEAKER_03We like to make you make people think. We like to make because if you think and you dig and you look, then you read the word. Because what else does it say? Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God. If I can get you to open your Bible and start reading the word, then it'll build your faith.
SPEAKER_06Help to all their flesh, life to those that find it and help to all their flesh.
SPEAKER_05And second Corinthians two, ten, now whom you have forgiven anything, also forgive. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that the one for one, for your sakes, in the present Christ, lest Satan should take advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices. So you've got to, you know, this goes along with this scripture. You gotta be wise of what kind of devices he's using. Right. Just like when we go hunting at the beginning of the season, man, we lay it all out there. We got a lot of things going on. We might have spinning ducks, we got, you know, different things that's working, but as the season goes along, we have to change the spread. That's right. Because they get used to you. They get used to it. The same thing with the devil does today. Yeah, the same thing happens as the spread gets changed. The same thing the devil does is, you know, when you're not a Christian and then you become a Christian, he changes the spread up a little bit. Exactly, exactly. Instead of instead of using, you know, things that you you're gonna get you to go to hell, he just gets you occupied to miss God. He gets you to occupy to miss him and what he's doing with unforgiveness, offense. I mean, these are things that he uses.
SPEAKER_06He ain't gotta convince you to know God. He's just gotta get you to leave him.
SPEAKER_05And and not and not focus. Yeah, not focus on him. Like find other things to keep your time and other things to do to get your sides cracked.
SPEAKER_06Eventually, when you slip further and further away. Yep. What what do you think? It says he seek he roams about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Okay, you never a lion. If you've ever watched National Geographics, they never go after the most healthy wilder beast that there is. They go after the young, the weak, the wounded side. All by himself that's pulled off, forsaking himself, the assembling of the brethren because he's scared of this or that, or you know, COVID warnings off. But anyway, he's off over here by himself wearing a mask. Easy talk. He's like, well, he's gonna get winded, he's already got a mask on.
SPEAKER_03And if you don't think there'll be strong delusion scent, look back at 2019-2012.
SPEAKER_06What would Jesus have done if they had had a uh a virus like that going around leprosy? Leprosy.
SPEAKER_03They wouldn't even let those people come in the city.
SPEAKER_06Leprosy. It was transmittable through touch, breath. I mean, just that sounds like a devil's counterfeit. Close quarter does it. Close quarter contact. I mean, Jesus would lay hands on.
SPEAKER_02Some people argue that Hanson's disease is what they call it now, which is leprosy. Yeah. Was not around back then, but there's a guy that goes around telling you about the the shroud. And it's in the Bible. That's what I know about. But see, look, he said this. Now I watched it this morning. This guy's got a PhD in theology.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, you need to be a theologian to help you misunderstand the Bible. Now wait a minute.
SPEAKER_02No, let me finish. I I'm defending this guy because he said that they have found that there's another tomb motor called the tomb of shrouds that they found a bunch of shrouds in. And when they got to detecting that stuff, they found leprosy on one of those shrouds. He was saying that you got to watch what people tell you. You can't believe it unless you get the facts.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Exactly. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean, he was all fool what we're talking about.
SPEAKER_06Well, what I won't say about him, I was saying a lot of people thi that study theology. Right. They become too in I they used to say you're too smart for your own intellect. Right. They get too much book knowledge and they're too smart for their own book.
SPEAKER_02And and this guy from from what I've gathered has a testimony like ours and just I mean, just got so infatuated with the Lord. I mean, he just kept studying and studying and studying and finally went to school and got all his degrees and everything, and he travels the world now just trying to find relics and all kinds of things.
SPEAKER_06Trying to prove what the words are. But the thing is, some people use theology to try and disprove. That's right. And that's where you mess up is when you follow somebody like that. Right. Which starts these new things like we're talking about to counterfeit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, talking about following somebody Jesus said right here in Matthew 24, verses 23 through 25. Then if anyone says to you, look, here is the Christ, or there, do not believe it. For false Christ and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I've told you beforehand.
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02I mean he's warned or something. I've already warned you. That's right, I'm warning you right now. People's gonna come act like they're me and they're not gonna be me. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And then you got people like the elect. Now I don't know if that word was meant to be used what it is, but if you think about our politicians and stuff today, how they act.
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03I mean they act like they are holier than they are. And you got people, I mean, these crazy folks that said I'm the son of God.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Like there was that one guy, was David Caress, he was in Waco, he said he was the son of Christ. I mean, there's all kinds of people through history that have been doing that. Right.
SPEAKER_05You know, and I really think though that that this you know, a lot of people look at it 'cause they're American mindset that it's gonna come out of a m you know, they look at America. I I have a hard time with all that. I think that it's you know, when the this end time thing that you do that you can better pay a big attention to what's going on in the Middle East and that area. Which yeah, that's where it started. And I got a feeling if you've ever read any of their readings and you start picking up on what they're putting down and how they'd like to set everything up, it's gonna happen coming out of there. I got a feeling. I ain't trying to that's opinions one nine for John Paul. Yeah, but that is I meanulations one nine?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's penulations.
SPEAKER_05I can't but uh here's something gives some hope to our some people that are viewing. This is just something I like to do. I like to give people hope because I don't want to leave nobody without hope. Like, well, I you know, because people think like, oh man, there's no way to get out of these counterfeits. There's no way to like miss it. I I'm I'm gonna miss anything. Here, let me help you out. Ephesians 6, verses 10. Be strong in the Lord and his power and his might put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against rulers of darkness, against ages and super uh spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. I'm not gonna read all that, but it goes on down to 17. Yep, and that's the armor of God that if you get this armor on, you get to understand, and I'm protected. I you know, this word comes alive to you. You're not just reading it, but it comes alive to you, you get to understand the revelation of this word that I can have the power of God. I'm not gonna be getting lost up on these things because the only time you start falling away from God is when you get your eyes off of it. Right.
SPEAKER_06Draw an eye to God and he'll draw it.
SPEAKER_05When you get, you know, I use this in a sermon sometimes, you know, when you're in an airplane, if you get off just one degree and you're heading from North Carolina to California, you're gonna end up 500 miles off point. But if you keep your eyes focused on Christ and not get your eyes off of him, you know, like Peter, when he took his eyes off of him, he started to go in now. But if you keep your eyes on Christ and you're constantly like, I'm seeking him. And I'm not talking about just going to church, I'm talking about reading this word. This Bible should be the number one thing. It shouldn't be at your house and you're like, Well, I've read the Bible. No, you need to let the Bible read you and you need to read the Bible. As it'll start reading back to you. Doesn't mean anyhow.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so in Psalms 119, 105, it says, Thy word is a lamp into my feet and a light into my path. So the world is a dark place, it really is, but the darker it is, the brighter our light shines. And it says, Thy word is a lamp. Thy word. Um the last time I checked, this is thy word. That's right. This is a lamp into my feet. This is a light into my path. So we we've been talking about counterfeits, we've been talking about the things to do wrong. So it's about time to switch gears, like he just he just shifted into overdrive, and I'm right with him. So how do you f figure out what's good and what's not? In Acts 17, 11 it says these were more noble than those in Thessalonia in that they received the word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily whether those things were so we recognize our counterfeits through the word. Right.
SPEAKER_06Through Well, what what it says it's a leather path. What what what do you need in the darkness? I like light. If you it that's like when we were at the beach a couple of weeks ago. The kids were out there finding crabs with headlamps. It was a light under their feet and they could see what was under their feet.
SPEAKER_03Exactly.
SPEAKER_06They could see where they were going what was around them because they had the light. If you had the light, you truly have the light.
SPEAKER_03Exactly.
SPEAKER_06Not a counterfeit light. Uh-uh. But you have the real light, which is the word of God. Talk about it. Talk about it. And and and Christ living in you, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. You have that on the inside of you, that light is going to and the Holy Spirit, I mean, getting that relationship, you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you. You you know, you get that Holy Ghost indwelling in you and coming upon you, then you start he starts showing you and he'll show you, hey, that's not of me. He'll remind you the Holy Ghost is there as a reminder and a guide to lead us, guide us into all truth. But he also he shows us discernment of spirits and and what is good and what is not. It says in the Bible that he will not speak of himself, but he will remind you of what I said. The world. He'll remind you of what I said. And you know, that a lot of times when I'm preaching, I just throw the notes down in the chair and let's let her rip.
SPEAKER_05He'll remind you of what he said. You know, he's talking about being a light. He says in John, just the same verses, it says, And in him was life, and the life was of the light of men. So the light of men, once you get Jesus Christ, the light comes on the inside of you. Not only he's shining the path with the word, that's the reason it's so important to have the light on the inside, but have the light shining on your path, which is this, and you're not gonna be easily mistaken as what's going on. You know, but somebody that you know, some people get caught up in even in like money, you know, like my buddy, I'm not trying to Well, I won't gonna call you Judas, but since you already put it in there.
SPEAKER_02Judas settled submitted.
SPEAKER_05Uh Judas settled for 30 pieces of silver. He attached a price tag to his counterfeit. He wanted God to do something that he had such a push and such a desire. He wanted Jesus to really push it in there and he had his own plan and his own agenda. People have that. And they use their own agenda to try to get things to happen, and that's a counterfeit that I see in some people. I'm like, mm. I don't know if I would trust that. Um you also think about Esau, how he got exchanged his birthright for a bowl of porch.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I've I've seen I've seen the time that I would put myself above everything.
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02And then if I made my mind up I wanted something, within about four or five days I'd done figured out how to get it. Mm-hmm. Didn't matter what I hurt or who I hurt.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Whatever you were doing.
SPEAKER_03As long as I was happy, that's all that mattered. That's right. I feel like you got a verse you want to read. Well, I mean, I got a bunch of them, but you know, I just hey I'm sitting here enjoying life, man.
SPEAKER_02I'm I'm loving it.
SPEAKER_05I hear you.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean I found Jeremiah 6 14.
SPEAKER_05Give it to us while we're ready for it.
SPEAKER_02And said they have also healed the hurt of my people slightly, saying, peace, peace when there is no peace. And that's, you know, falls back on that counterfeit thing where people are preaching this false gospel. Yeah. That people that we have to look out for. In verse 15, were they were they ashamed when they had committed an abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed, nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall. At the time I punish them, they shall be cast down, says the Lord.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. It says that he would turn people over to a reprobate mind.
SPEAKER_02Right. Lord John Paul, why didn't you kick me? I didn't turn the camera over.
SPEAKER_03I just realized it was on the You know, and and here's here's something like we talk about. So in in Hebrews 5, 12 through 14, it says, For w for when for the time ye ought to be teachers ye have need that one teach you again, which be the first principles of the oracles of God, and are become such as have need of milk and not of strong meat. For everyone that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. Right. But strong meat bringeth them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Some people get saved and stop.
SPEAKER_02That's why I was saying a while again, and we we've used that milk analogy a lot. Because if when you think about it, you just can't go up there and say, I want to accept Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior, and just sit there.
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02You have to make a move. That's complacency. You have to put forth that I mean a lot of people talking about the Catholic Church and church and their works because they got some weird works. But the work is getting out there and telling others about Christ. We are defeat. Yeah, bringing feet. Yeah, bringing others to Christ. It ain't like I got to go out there and dig a ditch or I got to say so many verses that some priest told me to say for repentance. Yeah. I mean, it's about sharing Christ.
SPEAKER_03That's right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03I mean, if you think about it from a a humanistic standpoint, you know, when your children were born and they drank milk. I don't know how old your kids are now, but my kids have some age on them. Yeah. And it would be a monstrosity if all they could do was drink milk. They wouldn't have grown right. They wouldn't have matured right.
unknownNope.
SPEAKER_03They would just be, you know, you got to you got to advance.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, advance. And that's the that's the one of the things that we try to teach in this podcast, I feel like, all the time. Mm-hmm. Is that it's okay to start out like that. That's right. But don't end up like that. Keep on pushing forward to what God's calling you to do, and He's always calling you to do more and to to to get involved. Yeah. Yep. Don't fall for the devil's counterfeit that you're just doing good enough.
SPEAKER_03And I feel like he used that specific scripture because people understand child rearing. They understand how a child develops and becomes a woman or a man. They understand increasing the diet. So if you can understand that, then you can understand what he's saying here. You can't just get saved and walk away and say, I'm saved, I'm good. I'm gonna stay on my milk diet. You need to consume the word and consume what the Holy Spirit gives you and grow as a Christian.
SPEAKER_06You know, right before that, right before what you just said about the milk and the meat, it says you by now, I'm just paraphrasing this, you by now should be teachers. Why do you still need a teacher when you should be a teacher? You know, Paul Paul got kind of rough with people. I like Paul. Yeah, yeah. But he there was one time he's like, why do we still have to go back and preach the simplest part for you? Over you should be past this by now. You shouldn't you should understand this now.
SPEAKER_05You should be teaching it by now. Yeah, you should be telling it.
SPEAKER_02Another thing I can't get grasped is how people call themselves Christians, but never pick up this book and look in it and read it. Yeah, I mean how how can you do that, man? Yeah, exactly. Somebody has counterfeited you by telling you that, hey man, you've been saved, you've been baptized. I think it was the devil.
SPEAKER_06The devil don't mind you thinking you're saved as long as you're not really saved. He don't mind you going to church. He don't mind you going to church, he don't mind you being there, clapping your hands, volunteering, singing, listening to the preach. He don't even care if you preach. No, that's right. I heard a story about a preacher used to be. When you affect others and you affect yourself, that's when he has a problem. He has a problem. I mean, I say preachers that need to get saved. I have it raised even.
SPEAKER_03We were talking about one of them a bishop the other day. Yes, and I said the only way he's a bishop is in the devil's chess game. Oh, a bishop? We will go we will go off the podcast to talk about this one. But you know, the devil can imitate. I can cut that juicy light on. The devil can deceive, the devil can counterfeit, but what he cannot duplicate, what he cannot counterfeit is the real thing, he can't counterfeit the blood of Jesus, people. That's right. He can't counterfeit the power of the Holy Ghost, this power that we're talking about. That's right. He can't counterfeit the salvation or God's peace. And I'm I'm big on peace. I'm really big on peace because as I'm as I have God's peace and I'm where I need to be, things are so much better. Oh, yeah. But you you see people who have disaffliction and that affliction, you know, high blood pressure, all these other things. A lot of that comes with you don't have peace. That's right. There you go. It runs it runs your blood pressure up, it runs your temper up, runs your madness up. Because I can promise you, I've I I realized years ago I had a very volatile blood pressure. You could check my blood pressure, it'd be 120 over 60, and you could say something to make me mad and you check again, it's 220 over 130. I mean, just like that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, though.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that off. The other thing he can't copy is in John 10, 27, my sheep hear my voice. That's right. And that and I know them and they follow me. That's right. The voice of God he can't imitate. He can't imitate the blood, like you said, the Holy Spirit. That's right, it's so important to read this word. Because when you read this word, a lot of times it gets your ears where you can hear him. That's right. Because you start praying and you start talking to God, and then the next thing you know, you're reading this word, and then he speaks to you through this word or gives you a word on your in your ear, he will speak to you. That's right. Because this word right here is a living word, and I was preaching this yesterday. It's a living word, it comes alive to you. And when this word comes alive, you can start hearing God speaking to you. And I was telling people it's almost like he'll grab hold of your shoulders and start shaking you. Like you got to grab hold of this. You got to understand what I'm trying to tell you here. And so, you know, you're if you're a true follower of Christ, you're gonna hear his voice and and you're gonna know his voice. There's no imitation of that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Give us some help to people that's right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. So I mean, we talked about this on the way down here, you know, when people go to work at a bank as a teller, yeah. They don't take the sundry list of counterfeit bills and say, I need to learn all these bills. They show them the real thing. Right. This is the real one. When you know this one, you'll know the other ones are obviously counterfeit. You know, Hebrews 13 8, it says Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever.
SPEAKER_02Forever. You know, you're talking about counterfeit money, that stuff's got so good now that they've had to take it come up with a special pen that you can rub on if it changed colors just to be able to tell. Well, you know, one thing I can say in all my life, I'm gonna use myself as an example. When I got in that wreck, I called out to Jesus. Yeah. Never in my life have I ever heard anybody call out to Satan. Even even atheists that are about on their deathbed call out to Jesus. Mm-hmm. So you can't tell me you're not real. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Exactly. 100%. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. 100%. James 4 7 says, Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and what is he gonna do, John Paul?
SPEAKER_05Flee from it. Flee.
SPEAKER_06People don't like that first part. Yeah. No. They don't like the submitting part. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's the whole problem with flesh anyway. Uh-huh. We I mean, even today as you know, as Christians, we still don't like to submit. I mean, you know, if you think you're right and your wife tries to tell you you're wrong, you get a little upset. Yeah. And she might be right. Yeah. But you don't want to submit to that. I mean, it's the truth. I mean, all of us suffer from that.
SPEAKER_06Or you they go into church and what can we help you do, and you tell them the toilet needs cleaning.
SPEAKER_02Oh nope. I'm too busy.
SPEAKER_06I'm too good for it. I mean, I'm not too good to clean toilets. No. Where's the brush at? Yeah, where's the brush at?
SPEAKER_02I'm not going to necessarily clean them with my hands, but where's the brush and the gloves? So where's the brush gloves and the comet?
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Exactly. You know, and all this all this works together through what we've talked about today. I mean, it's it's it's a counterfeit whether you see it or not. Right. You know, you're putting something else ahead of Christ. There is. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And I mean, I see it a lot of times, you know.
SPEAKER_06Most of the time itself. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, absolutely. I see that all the time. That the devil uses, you know, people's comfortability, people uses uh he uses people's money, he uses different things to counterfeit a happiness or a pleasure that's not the real peace. Exactly. Mm-hmm. That you were talking about.
SPEAKER_03It's not the real present.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and then as John was talking about earlier, it'll just a little bit of the time, it moves you further and further away. It don't kill you right away, but it moves you further and further away. And then you're just like, I'm good. I'm I've been doing this for three or four weeks now. I'm good.
SPEAKER_06Well, if you turn the gas down on a burner and you keep turning the gas down and you keep turning the gas down. It cuts off.
SPEAKER_03Yep. That's right. Flame goes out. The flame goes out. Yep. Yep. Yeah. The flame. The fire. Yep. The burning desire.
SPEAKER_06Fire on the bottom must never go out, Leviticus.
SPEAKER_03Y'all want to go ahead and roll on to the podcast right now about something. I'm telling you, that's that's what happens.
SPEAKER_02Take a note. Take a note. Yes. There you go. Flame must never go out. Well, we'll see. The last time we went on vacation was before I had my rig, which was in twenty with twenty-four. So twenty-three is the last time we went anywhere. And I can tell you I got down there and I didn't think of nothing but being on vacation and having a good time. Mm-hmm. This year when we went down there, every day I was up and I was in that word. I was on his computer doing something with his podcast.
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02Every day. And I enjoy it.
SPEAKER_03I mean, that's what I want to do now. I'm feasting to tell you something. So while we were on vacation, I carried my guitar with me because I play in church. And um, they didn't want me to play in the house because I was too loud and they were talking. So I went outside, I'm telling you, it stunk like pure skunk. So you know what it was doing, what people were doing. I went to play and I went to singing. It won't long, so then it smelled like the ocean again. The devil had to run. I was crazy, I was practicing worshiping, and it just went away. It was gone. It was amazing. I don't know what.
SPEAKER_02Maybe I need to get me a guitar the next time I go to enter Savannah. That's where everywhere you walk, that's why you smoke. Good gosh.
SPEAKER_03And and uh, you could have been my singing. I I may not be my best singer. But I said it was God because I hate that smell. I can't stand it.
SPEAKER_02Hey, watch the saying, even even the ugliest voice, as long as you're singing praising God, is a beautiful voice. Make a joyful voice. Make a joyful noise. That's it. Make a joyful noise. And I was.
SPEAKER_03And every day me and Corbin sat down with the guitar. Corbin's my one of my grandkids. We sit down, he'd say, Pa, can I play that? Yes, sir, come right on.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_03He he loves, he loves to do what we do, he loves to do what men do, and we're trying to show him what a godly man does.
SPEAKER_02You don't deny him anything like that. Never never been.
SPEAKER_05Thank you, Jesus. But he uses also pride, offense.
SPEAKER_06Pride comes before fall.
SPEAKER_05Yep. Yep. Comfort, success, recognition. He uses these tactics a lot of times for people to be pulled further away from God and to get them over away. That counterfeit is just a distraction. And that's what he does. And so you have to be, you know, very watching. You know, I I'm very observant. I know kind of what the devil uses, and I'm a strategist, so I look and I'm like, uh, this don't look right. Don't you know, and because that's how I look at things. I I'm very much, you know, you can't know all the things the devil's gonna use, but you can know his tactics. Right. Is this one of his tactics? Yeah. Because he's he's got tactics.
SPEAKER_03And he uses the same ones he's always.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, he uses the same ones over and over again, but he studies people to figure out what can he use to get you.
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_05He's not gonna use the same tactics he gets for like change from one person to another. He studies that person to use that tactic to take them on.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean he he used that pride and all that stuff on me because I can tell you since I since the Lord saved my life from that wreck, I probably apologize more to my wife than I have the past 33 years that we've been married in the past two years. Mm-hmm. Because pride to start with wouldn't let me do that. I'd never admit I was wrong. Oh yeah. Never. Even when I knew I was wrong, I wouldn't admit it.
SPEAKER_03So that I said I I knew I was wrong 30 minutes ago. I just wanted to see how long you can argue about it.
SPEAKER_02That makes it even worse. Yeah. You're talking about putting gas on the fire. Yes sir. 93 proof right here. Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_01Yes, sir, yes, sir.
SPEAKER_03Good gosh. The the good news is there's ways to get around it. There's ways to figure it out, you know. I mean, like you said, that the counterfeit bills have come to the point we'd had to do different things to pick them out. He keeps fixing his counterfeit different and different, different, but as long as you're in the Bible and you're praying and you get to see them in the spirit, you figure it out. John Paul, we're boring you things.
SPEAKER_02No, that you know, and that goes to we've said it on here a hundred times, to get in that book. Mm-hmm. I mean, that that's how you felt fight the counterfeit right there. Exactly. Is to get in this book. Mm-hmm. If you hear some pastor or somebody telling you something and your ears raise up, your eyebrows go funny, then go to that book. Mm-hmm. See if he's see if he's telling you the truth. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Not just telling you his opinion. I've got a really good friend that rededicated his life to the Lord a few years ago, and I was talking to him, and boy, it was a shouting time. I'm telling you, I called to ask about something that took about two minutes, and we talked for an hour.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And uh he said he was really concerned with false religion and false prophets, and he was really was trying to do everything he could to avoid it. And he said that someone invited him to a revival. He said, and I went. He said, and I got there and it just didn't feel right. And he said, after everything was over, he asked, God, why'd you let me come here? Because you know I'm really, really troubled by this. He said, you figured it out, didn't you? Yeah, you want to show me proof. Exactly. You you you're you're you're growing. All right. There you go. When you first redid a caddy life, you were on milk. But you've been growing. You've been consuming my word. You figured it out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean, you gotta that's why you gotta be careful on social media and everywhere. I mean, because I I've watched and and followed some on TikTok, and the more I got listening to them, like, wait a minute, these are some weird people. Yeah. Something's going on with this cat. Yeah, yeah. And women too. I mean, they're they're preaching some kind of gospel that I've never heard before in my 56 years. Mm-hmm. I'm like, what are they talking about?
SPEAKER_03And he was the same yesterday, today, and forever?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we ain't changing.
SPEAKER_02No. There ain't nothing in that change book change. No. It's not going to change. No, no. Not at all. Not at all. All right, everybody. Happy. Mm-hmm.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02We might have close this one out the way, John Paul's yawning.
SPEAKER_05Can't help it, man. I know, but I let one of them out and they all just keep coming back around. Open that window over there. Yeah, let it out. Then we'll be out. Yeah. You get it out of this room, it'll go away.

Get a little tongue talking about John Paul's rub it off on me. I'm getting tired over here. No, seriously though, just get in out get in that good book and and read it and learn it for yourself. That way, if somebody says something you can that you don't believe, you can counteract it and bring it back and show them the truth. Um I got John 14 6 right here. That's a short and but good one.
