Visibility is cute, OK, butvisibilitywithout positioning is vanity. Today we're here tofix that, right? So. I want todisclaim themyth of they'll justnotice me,right? So you've beentaught to behumble. And you, if youfollow me or you listen toany of my episodes, I sodespise that. I remember being toldthat, ohh,just be humble, right? But being real humble. Is not the catch all be all OK? We were toldto let your work speak foritself, stay behind thescenes untilsomeone chooses you. But what that is done to us,if you're anything likeme, is it's not allowedus. Could play all out,right? Becausewe're being humble, we'restandingbehind the scenes. We'retoo afraid totell someone. Yeah, that wasme. Yes, I did that right. And I'm going to tell youwhat it did for mepersonally. So for me. Being humble if youwould haveinterviewed me 10 years ago,right and. Ask me,Kimberly, whatdo you do? I would havetold you I'd love to workbehind the scenes. Why?Because ofthat exact point. Beinghumble,stayinghumble. OK, but let mejust be real with you. No one iscoming todiscover you OK. You don'tget paid the most for beingthe smartest in the room. Becausehonestly, if that was thecase, we'd all be paid. Instead ofsitting in on thosemeetings, youwould berunning those meetings andit would beyour company. Right, you getpaid the mostwhen people know who you are. What you do and theresults thatyou canactually bring, that'sthe reason why. The people thatonly know 10% of what youhave are more successful anddemand more. Why? Because they're nothumble. They're visible, theyare loud about the 10% thatthey know and they're notashamed tosellthemselves because theyknow that 10% you don't getpaid for all of the all ofthe things that you knowhow to do. Because mosttimes peopledon't care about that,right? Theycare about what?Is in itfor them. What can you do forthem? We livein a selfish society, sopeople want toknow when I work with you. How quickly?Am I going to getthese results?What results can you bringme? What's itgoing to cost me and howquickly am Igoing to get these results?OK. And I'mgoing to be say somethingelse. If youdon't tell them who youare, what youdo, the results thatyou can bring,they'll find someone elsewho does. That's how that oneperson thatonly knows 10% of what youknow makesmore money. It's sad, butit's true, solet's just break it down. And I want youto to tolisten very, very, verycarefully whenyou hear this, OK?Performance is what you do. OK. Positioning ishow peopleperceive it, the value thatthey give to it, and yourpersonalbranding is how you get tocontrol the narrativearound what you do and thevalue people put on it,right? You might be overdelivering at work. In yourbusiness and your role andstill be underpaid. That's becauseperformance alone is notenough. Perception iswhat pays because theperception which is inyourpositioning, it's howpeopleperceive the value thatyou're going to get. And people pay for value, not forpaper. They pay for valueover volume. What you can do for them is much moreimportant to them than howyou're going to show them. How to do it? I don't reallycare aboutthat, they just want theresults mosttimes, OK? That's justwhat it is. You need tointentionallydesign how people see you. You needto intentionallydesign howpeople talk about you andhow people invest in youbecause if they're payingyou for aservice, they'reinvesting inyou. That's an investment tothem. OK, so how do youmove into becoming thego to expert#1?You want toclaim a signaturelane? OK,figure out and be very clearabout what it is. You trulywant to be known for nothing. Not everything,not nothing. One thing. You can expandupon it later. So pick yourlane, stay in it, figure itout, right #2 start sayingit out loud. It's somethingabout hearingsomethingversus thinkingsomething. OK,Post it, talk about it. Teach people how you do it,people. Repetition toassociate yourname with your niche. Likefor instance if I say to you no one caneat just one. Your mind goesto Lays potato chips. Why?Because thathas been their slogan. They'veassociatedthemselves with it. Theyare known for that. And whenI say no one can eat justone, you don't think aboutDoritos. Youdon't. You think aboutlace. Right, so becausebeing sayingit out loud, being knownfor thisthing, right? This is whatit is. This is your nameassociatedwith your niche and #3prove yourbrilliancethrough transformation. Now this iswhere we get into. I alwaystell you, we're going toshow receipts. All right,tell thestories. Showthe transformation. Share thebefore and the after. Peopledon't reallypay for your experiences,they pay foryour outcomes. If I tell you. My fee is$10,000 to work with me. However. You will get a 80% return on that. So if you pay me$10,000, you're goingto make$80,000. OK, so if I say toyou here, I'm going to giveyou this 10, I want you togive me your$10.00 bill and in returnfor this $10,I'm going to give you$80.00 back atthe end. You're beingfool not to dothat, right? So that's whatit is. Peoplepay for the outcomes theydon't reallycare about. How you getthere so much? But as long asyou get them there rightnow, onceyou're known as the go towoman in yourspace, everythingshifts foryou. Peoplestart referring youOK without youeven asking. You don't haveto ask for areferral. They'll belike ohh yeahI know someone that doesthis. She's great. Let meshow you what she did forme. OK? Your rates riseautomaticallybecause you're in demand andalso you'll be surprised atwhen you overdeliver for people. Sometimes theyincrease your rates for you. Right, youwant your name to be spokenin roomsyou've never stepped into. That's the goal, to havepeople talkingabout you in rooms that youhaven't evenstepped in yet, right?And you createyour own opportunitiesinstead ofwaiting on them to comeor somebody tobestow them upon you, youcreate themyourself,right? So here's yourPowerPoint fortoday. Now you know these arethought. Walking what?
