Hi Heather.
SPEAKER_02Hi Dana. How are you?
SPEAKER_01I'm good. I'm hanging in. How are you?
SPEAKER_02I'm good. Happy Friday. We're a little late this week. Yes. We're consistently here, but it's varying a little day to day. Life's been it's been busy lately. Yeah. And we're trying to be here consistently, but sometimes you gotta give us a little grace on that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01What day we're uploading. Thank you for even just listening and watching. So catch us weekly. I don't know on what day anymore. Catch us when you can. Yeah. Catch me if you can. What did I just say the other day to my friend? I was I wanted to know if they knew something, and then I was always like, and also, do you know the muffin man? I can't ask somebody if they know someone or something without the game. Without in my head, like, do you know the muffin man? Do you know the muffin man?
SPEAKER_02Why was that so just like probably like we're old though? Justice. It's probably going away. Are you even saying that to your kids anymore? I feel like we're gonna lose that.
SPEAKER_01My kids would know it, but I feel like I don't know if one of their friends were over and I said, like, do you know the muffin man?
SPEAKER_02Is your mom okay?
SPEAKER_01You good, bro?
SPEAKER_02Like um so today should be fun because today we're gonna talk about some things that we are currently loving. Yes. What are we doing? What are we loving? What's working for us right now? Yeah, and all different categories of life. What's working? What are we loving? So uh we kind of broke it down into some different groups. Yeah, I feel like I love too much. Yeah, well, also if we have a lot of things, we can just come back at you with a part two. Yeah, this might be a part two or we'll see. That's great. Yeah, it's good to. I mean, we are not even gonna say that won't turn into a complaining session at some point, right? But we're pretty good at that. So I feel like if we have a lot of positive things to talk about today, we're gonna let it roll. Yeah. Let it roll. I don't know. I have to try hard to be. I'm sure there'll be some negativity at some point. Yeah. It's just who we are. It's in our bones.
SPEAKER_01Guaranteed.
SPEAKER_02You put your money on it. All right. Do you want to start us off? You pick a category to start with and let us know what you are currently loving for that category.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna go. Um, let's talk about like since it's Friday, let's talk about some shows. Like, what are we watching? I feel like there's a lot of stuff like loaded and new, and people are kind of like, there's chatter. Yeah. So, I mean, I don't now that I'm looking at my list, there's one I will say it, but I won't talk about what it is or what the what it means. But I don't have to do your own research.
SPEAKER_00Um, no, no, I know. I just don't want to say on here. I'm saying they have to do it.
SPEAKER_01Oh yes, you have to do your own research. There is a show.
SPEAKER_02I don't know what you're talking about, so hit me.
SPEAKER_01Well, the first show that I I really am enjoying it, it's DTF. I don't know what that is. It's not I do your research. I will tell you, I will Google it later. It's good. It's with uh Jason Bateman, and we're big, like we like him. Oh, okay. Yeah, I mean, I like him too, usually. It's him and then the is it funny or is it drama?
SPEAKER_02Because he's definitely the pendulum swings with him.
SPEAKER_01It's drama, and there's some like dark humor just because it's him, just like his facial expressions and like some of the awkwardness. There's some big names in there. Um I can't think of any of them, but Jason Bateman. Okay, that's fine. The cop from um uh what's the one beyond behind the wall? What is it? The under the underworld, the overworld. It's a big show. Stranger Things?
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_01Okay, the cop from Stranger Things.
SPEAKER_02I fell off after like season two or three. I didn't watch the whole thing either. But like, yeah, it's out there, it's so popular. To go back and re-watch all of that, like I lost interest. Alessia was just watching it. GM. And I told Chris, I was like, You gotta, did you finish it? Do we know what's like in it? And he's like, Yeah, I finished the whole series. And I was like, Oh, when did you do that? Like, I felt like he was living a double life. Wow. I was like, Do you have a mistress? What else did I know about you? Jeez. When did you find time to watch the whole like four seasons that I gave up on it? When did he? I think he started watching some of it like with Lesie. I don't even know. I don't know. These are questions for later. But I definitely tapped out. I think. Chris, we're coming for you. We got questions. You have a lot of explaining to do. Jeez. I know. So I mean, let's be honest. I fall asleep a lot when we're like watching TV at night, which is why we're not going to the movies anymore. We tackled that one. But I'm saying, like, that's a it's a lot of time invested. I don't know. That's a big investment. Right. But anyway, all that to say, I don't have a clue what's going on. I do know who the cop is, though. Okay. So he's in it. It's good. And you know, I don't know. Funny though? Or or is it also funny or is it just dramatic?
SPEAKER_01No, it's pretty it's dramatic. Okay. You just kind of have to catch the humor, like in their, you know, facial expressions and stuff. But that's like top of the list. Besides, obviously, I'm watching Love Story, which we talked about.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, we did. And you're current on that. It's like a release one week at a time situation. Yes, I did not watch last night's episode.
SPEAKER_01But again, I have anxiety because we lived through it, so I know what's coming. Right.
SPEAKER_02I did love the series, The Crown. Did you watch the whole crown? No, I only watched the part with Diana. I was gonna say you didn't oh, I think you would like it if you go back and do the whole thing. Yeah, but that's what became cool is like as it progressed through time, it was like, oh, now I remember this. Like, because obviously, way back, you know, very few people were alive. Like, she was so queen for so long and she was so young and everything. But I did love when it got current, but the whole thing was very good.
SPEAKER_01I think you would like it if you went back. Everyone says that, yeah. I don't know. I just don't want to see any of the like I mean, I guess I shouldn't say it, but it's our podcast. I will. I'm not a big like Camilla fan. Oh, yeah. Anytime anyone calls her the queen, I'm like, not not the queen. Not not my queen. She's not my queen.
SPEAKER_02None of them are technically, but I do, but I feel like they even did a good job with like just showing, like, uh, you know, not everybody's a fan. Okay, so I mine. We've been watching The Lincoln Lawyer because somebody recommended that to us. And we do like it. It's keeping our interests, it's a good like drama series. I don't know, there was the movie The Lincoln Lawyer. I don't know if it's based on the same book or something. I don't know. Never saw that either. But I also am in a state where I feel like we went through this during COVID, or maybe you didn't, where like the world's heavy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I just want funny stuff. I want to laugh. Yeah. So I've been just watching like random comedians and stuff on YouTube. Like, even when we fall asleep at night, we'll put one on with like the sleep timer, and then then it's like, whatever, nobody cares. If you fall asleep, you're not like missing, you can go back or whatever. But like, yes. Do you guys like Derek Stroop? I'm gonna throw his name out because I don't know if you would like him or not. And we always like exchange. He's like part of the whole like clean comedian, clean-ish. Like, he's I wouldn't take my kids to go see it, but it's just because like yeah, some of his topics and stuff might be mortal. But he's so animated and southern. I'm looking something up. So I just watched his new and we are we what Derek Stroop.
SPEAKER_01He's the new one on Netflix.
SPEAKER_02I mean, he's newer.
SPEAKER_01I think I started his.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if it's like one of the only ones recently. But he is funny.
SPEAKER_01Reminding me, because I just found this girl, and I don't even know, I don't think she has a special. I think you have to, she has a podcast. Oh, okay. And I think you would have to just She's a female comedian. Yes, and she was so funny, and I saw her stuff that looked very raw. Like it was just like stand up, like in some like, you know, small little theater wherever she is. Of course, I'm not gonna be able to find it now. I will find her name and say it because she was going off of the audience, which I think is true, Taylor. Oh gosh, it's true. She was she's really funny. I'll find her, but I meant to like put her on my list.
SPEAKER_02That reminds me while you're looking. Did you see the clip? I think somebody sent it to me, and then I kept seeing it everywhere. I'll look later. There was a female comedian. I want to say she was why do I not know the difference between Australian and a British accent? She was maybe Australian or British. Top well, like I don't know. Trimp on the Bobby. That would be remember her having a strong accent, but now I can't remember. I was like, was that Australian? She was doing a live live stage show, but the clip that I saw was so good because she had taken like an interaction that she had on Facebook Marketplace. Yeah. And it was all about like a bed that was supposed to be free and some like old lady picking it up, and she put it to like music, like their responses back and forth. And like anybody who's ever done anything on Facebook Marketplace, you know what like a hot mess that is. And it was so clever and hilarious. I'll find that too. If you can find your girl, maybe if you're interested in those, shout us, yeah, find us on one of our posts or something, and we'll make sure we get it to you. But honestly, it was so it was so clever and well done.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you do need to laugh.
SPEAKER_02We have that's where I'm at with entertainment right now.
SPEAKER_01Uh, this is important. It's the podcast that I'm telling you about, but it's on Netflix, so you can watch it. It's a podcast. And it's the three guys from Workaholics, which we watched, like the whole series, and we watched every movie that they've made. We're big, again, we're big Adam Devine fans. Yeah. Love all his stuff.
SPEAKER_02But I could try it. Isn't it so funny how we laugh at this? It's so subjective though. Yeah. Yeah, because then there's like I'm saying Derek Stroop, and I'm thinking, like, I don't know, I don't know if she would like him, but like then we both like Dusty Sly. But there's other people I don't like. I watch like five minutes of Adam Devine Divine. And I like him in the movies that I've seen him in, but like I was like, oh no. He reminded me of like an obnoxious kid in high school that I would be like this guy. Like, sit down and shut up.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I thought he's that's we look so subjective. And their podcast is literally like it's about nothing, like just their banter. Is that that's the word, right? Yeah, banter. Yeah, they're really funny.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I just that's where my whole like entertainment focuses right now. I need like light stuff, I need laughing stuff. I was looking for a good also find me on the socials. I was looking for a good, like short little podcast, like devotional sort of thing that I can listen to in the morning. And like I just need some like positive stuff right now in my ears. Yeah. Trying to make a conscious effort to like not go looking for the negative, yeah. Which is my default setting.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think it's a lot of our default. What else? Any other entertainment? Um, I mean, these are not light, but the other two that we're really into, but same thing. They're kind of just like dropping, like we're watching multiple because we're waiting weekly. Yeah. The rooster. Okay, you mentioned that. Yeah, not the rabbit. The rabbit. The rabbit, the rooster, and then a new one, Imperfect Woman. Women. Oh. And that's uh also big names that I don't know. But like I know there's the woman one about. The one of the main characters is the one of the the main girl on um Handsmaid Tale.
SPEAKER_02Okay, which I did not watch too heavy. You didn't oh too real. Nope. Well, not interesting. That's what I'm saying. Like, I don't want anything that's resembling our current state of affairs.
SPEAKER_01Um it's also very good. Heavy, not light at all. But watching anything with Ryan is light because, like, even in the heaviest moments, he's just gonna make light of it. He was driving me crazy. He was like, she looks like she always just smelled something bad, and he isn't, he looks like a better-looking so-and-so in certain thing. Yeah, he's got like commentary. Yeah, but his mouth doesn't move when he talks, and I'm like, no, I can't all see it. Stop it.
SPEAKER_02Like so distracting, too. So distracting. We just watched a show. Gosh, I wish I remembered the name of it too, because I thought it was very well done. And it was about um, geez, I gotta do better research. I didn't know what was gonna come up though. Like, we're gonna talk about all this.
SPEAKER_00Where is I don't remember the name of anything, like any of these big ideas. We're here today to get our own research. Whispers of ideas or try or find us on social media and see if you can get us to actually think of the thing. This is life at four.
SPEAKER_02No, it was just like a really well-done mystery where like a child got kidnapped or something. It was, but the titles was like all her fault. Yeah, yeah. Did you watch that one? I loved that one because I actually feel like there was this great mystery. What are this a lower level of social commentary about what the women's roles in this whole thing was? I loved all that. I was like watching it with Chris, like and all this. But why am I saying that? Oh, the main actress, something about she was she was doing something that was I found so distracting or something, and I was like, I wish they would have picked somebody else for this. I loved the series, yeah, but it was like harder to get into it because I just did not love. Well, she also makes a lot of like yeah, like sour face, like Claire Danes type like looks. Yeah, it just I found it distracting, and I was like, okay, this is her way of like being a good actress. Like she was like sour face, but I was like, she just gotta stop that. Like, I can't get in this. You should not watch TV with Ryan then. No, I mean I don't need any more commentary. My head's already like, what is she doing right now? Why is she making that? Watch this, especially if it's supposed to be heavy. Sometimes you just want to be in the mood to watch something like, ooh, that's a really deep thought.
SPEAKER_01Laughing the whole time. I'm like, now we missed the whole thing.
SPEAKER_02That's his like default position. No, you can't. You're not fixed, you know, there's no fixing that. Been trying for 20 years. So it's not gonna work. Keep up the fight. 21 now, yeah. All right, how about can we make a little jump to things that we're loving in the food and beverage world? Always. I mean, do you have anything? I have a few, unfortunately. Yeah, I have a few. Yeah, well, you're gonna relate deeply to this because I consulted you many times. So we just made the switch to a espresso. I love it. I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. I still have my brewing um carafe pot. I have a courig that is primarily used for visitors. I don't, I can't stand the currig. I just never am happy with it.
SPEAKER_01Hot, dirty water.
SPEAKER_02But I wanted the option of a quick cup, and it was like, do I get a third? And we also have an espresso machine. Do I get a third machine? Is this borderline nuts now? But I got the espresso the Nespresso, and I think I'm getting rid of my espresso machine. I just like I can't be working this money. Like, I'm not I don't have the patience for it. I feel like I'm just streamlining and I love it, and I'm glad. And I'm working my way through figuring out which capsules I like and which ones I don't, because like not every Nespresso product is amazing. No, but like I'm to the point where I'm like, oh yeah, we should have just done this sooner. Right? They're so good. I do, I love it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I the only thing I don't like about having because we are we still do have our espresso is upstairs. The Nespresso is downstairs, and it does get annoying because like if my dad, who is an avid espresso drinker, and I mean he has like a method. He's very into it. Oh, he warms his cup before he likes it. So I'll be like, Dad, you want an espresso? And he'll go, yeah, and I'll go, and espresso, not a nespresso. Because if I give him a n espresso, he needs to know like what's the level. You know, it's gotta be Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think you're I feel like your espresso maker too is like automated to an extent. Yeah, it's not super like um work intense. No, it's ours was like you're foaming the milk, and then you're doing you're packing a double shot. And I just felt like I was sick of coffee grounds all over my counter. And so I needed something more automated because I just want coffee all the time. I want to push a button and have coffee. That's where I'm at with my life.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I gotta descale mine. I'm actually so irritated because I couldn't drink it today because the button lit up and I'm like another thing I gotta do. Not loving that for you. No, I'm sorry, just wait. It happens if you use it a lot. I know it happens.
SPEAKER_02I mean, we do it with our uh brewing coffee thing, but it's just like a whole thing. I hate that.
SPEAKER_01Um yes. What about you? Love my Nespresso. Um, I have been super into okay, so to continue the discussion for anyone who actually like listens all to all of these. God bless you. God bless you. There's like probably three of you, but uh remember when I talked about how I was on a search for uh Sonyak bread? Yeah. So the the the girls that I saw eating this bread and the the culture that eats this bread, they make it in a specific sandwich. And I still have not found the bread, but I found different lavash, and me and Ava have been obsessed with eating. They're like herb sandwiches. And you feel a little bit like a rabbit, but it's very good. And so you take lavash and you buy fresh dill, fresh parsley, fresh mint, okay, green onions, and you like put them all, and I mean like a sprig of dill. Like you're not dicing like a whole like a sprig of yeah, you're just like tearing it off a bunch. And you wrap it, and now she'll drizzle hers with some olive oil. I put like that is all that's in there. I put feta cheese.
SPEAKER_02I was gonna say something creamy or cheese.
SPEAKER_01I'm sorry, cucumbers and tomatoes as well. Okay, and then I do feta, and I've that's the other thing I've been obsessed with, like fresh feta. Like that you have to buy like a chunk and a chunk in the water, like fresh, fresh feta. That in there with like some fresh squeezed lemon. Oh, it's so good and so fresh. She doesn't like cheese. I don't know how that happened.
SPEAKER_02Oh, like vegetarian sandwiches.
SPEAKER_01So she'll just do or she'll put like some like peppercini in there, olives, something like that, but it's really, really good. So like fresh and light.
SPEAKER_02I do love like a really good where was I just and it was just like a caprese salad, but like done so good. I was like, what is better than like these three things together? Like a fresh, fresh tomato, a little bit of cheese, like just so good.
SPEAKER_01Well, on that note, too, what I've been seeing, we've been doing Greek salads wrong. Like while I do still love a uh Greek salad that you would get here. I was gonna say, like an Americanized Greek salad. We used to have a place, and now you can buy the dressing other places, but like Ocean Breeze had like the best pink dressing dressing for a Greek salad. Um they're saying like in Greece, like a traditional Greek salad is just cucumber, tomato, feta, and like oregano. Oh, really?
SPEAKER_02I mean, that sounds amazingly. Like it's not it's not lettuce. Yeah, you can see why we were like bulk it up with lettuce or whatever.
SPEAKER_01I don't even know that they put calamata olives.
SPEAKER_02Maybe they do. Maybe. But honestly, I love that. I mean, that would that's an amazing salad too. Yeah, that's on my menu for next week. It's us we get everything wrong, but or I don't know. It's like people look at it and they're like, this isn't a salad, it's not what I'm expecting. So then you have to kind of like Americanize for them. Yeah. But honestly, that sounds amazing. That sounds good right now. Um, okay, my next one is food-related Starbucks, you know, those little egg bites that everybody loves. I just make like an easy dupe of those at home by the dozens, and I love them. So I have those little like cupcake holder things that are what is it called? Like metal. What are those things? Like silicone. Silicone, which I don't love, but I'm doing it because it's really hard to get the egg bites out. Yeah. And then you bake them at a low temp with like a steam bath. So they're real soft and like I don't know, they just come out with a I know, I know those like Starbucks eggs bites. The egg bites are like sous vide or something. Ain't nobody got time for that. But I do love the like little like grab and go. My kids will eat them. I feel really good about that. The options are like endless. I make like a roasted red pepper and feta, or you know, like my kids, a sausage and mozzarella, whatever. Yeah. But I love it because I can just like bust them out like in two muffin trays. I got 24.
SPEAKER_01You could probably freeze them too.
SPEAKER_02I could, I did not yet. We usually go through them, but I'm loving doing that because I feel a little bit better about like my kids not eating just like lucky charms for breakfast.
SPEAKER_01I'll show you. I just followed somebody on TikTok. She does like a big food prep every week. And she'll say, like, what I made for my family. She makes those all the time too, but she's got a lot of like good ideas. And she water I I don't know that I've ever made anything in a water bag. Well, I think a cheese cake.
SPEAKER_02I have made like egg bakes before, right? Where you and they have cottage cheese in them, so I feel like it just get everything stays moist for lack of a better word. But then when you bake them like low with the water bath, like the top doesn't get like it doesn't get like rubbery. Like eggs have the potential of being like in the oven for too long, and they get like that hard rubbery kind of, so they're just kind of like soft all the way through.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they're good. That's all right.
SPEAKER_02So we're yeah, we're wrecking those weekly.
SPEAKER_01I have been doing, I found myself on like Brazilian TikTok now. Yes, one does. Also African TikTok side note. I don't know where you find the other sub TikToks. I am obsessed with the Adim family on TikTok, and they are so cute. There's like I don't three, four.
SPEAKER_02Should I know who that is? No.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02Five or six say more. Are they celebrities or they're just like TikTok famous? They got a lot of followers. But I'm saying are they famous outside of TikTok or it's not like the I'm trying to think of the Kardashians where it's like, okay, they're famous on social media, but also all this other stuff.
SPEAKER_01No, not at all. Okay, okay. There's like six kids. I don't even know. There's a lot of kids. And she makes like all the traditional like African meals. But because I texted you that one night and I was like, when you stayed at the hotel. Oh, you were eating me, asking me if I ate fufu. I really want to try fufu. Yeah. And she makes like fufu with all these like stews and stuff. And her whole thing is just she's serving, like plating the food.
SPEAKER_02And we're just like, wow, yeah, we're here for the canton.
SPEAKER_01Real weirdo. I'm just sitting there.
SPEAKER_02I think we're 10 minutes. You're like, oh, what do we got here?
SPEAKER_01Well, because then I'm looking up like, why is the stew like like gooey?
SPEAKER_02And it's like the fufu has like that texture.
SPEAKER_01Well, the fufu has a texture, but the steel was gooey. The stew was gooey, and it's like a seed that um it's like oh bungu. Uh whatever the stew is called, the they use the seed to make the stew, and I think the seed makes it like gooey. Oh my gosh. But they need it to be a little thicker because they're picking it up. That makes sense.
SPEAKER_02You can't have like runny.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, with the foo foo. Okay. So I'm just fascinated. You're down a dark rabbit. Which I mean, you know, I've always I'm always fascinated by food, different cultures, everything. And I'm like, I need foo foo.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because when you sent me that, I was like, No, but have you seen these? And they're like muckbangs of like other people eating like whatever, and I'm just I like I don't know where my Facebook or not Facebook I'm not even on TikTok so it's Reels Instagram was like this girl throw her some more content she loves this. They're throwing me all the food content. I mean good content. And you're getting new ideas out of that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like, what is the bread called? But you still can't find it. So I'm not ordered.
SPEAKER_02Winding your horizons, it's good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. No, I love that kind of stuff. But anyway, I found myself on Brazilian TikTok, and they're saying that there is this tea that they drink, and it is fabulous for inflammation, and it does like really good things for your body. She got me with like she came on the TikTok and said, like, girls, it's spring and it's almost summer. Do you want to glow up? And I'm like, always.
SPEAKER_02Yes, please.
SPEAKER_01Duh. Right. So they make this tea. I bought everything to make it, made it. It's in my fridge. And it's actually very easy to find ingredients. Yeah, just like on Amazon. But it is, it would, it's you make hibiscus tea out of like dried hibiscus flour, like dried flours. Okay. And uh cinnamon sticks and ginger. And then you steep it for like a couple hours, strain it, and then she puts it in the fridge, and then it makes it pretty like concentrated, so she waters her down. But you she said you can sweeten it if you want, but the cinnamon like makes it very flavorful.
SPEAKER_02And hibascus has a really nice flavor.
SPEAKER_01It's so refreshing. Hibascas tea sometimes. But um, I've never tried it with like all the other so they said it's good for your skin, good for inflammation. So I've been like pounding that. That's really good.
SPEAKER_02It sounds really refreshing too for like summertime. Yeah, whatever. I actually get warm hair.
SPEAKER_01And what's weird is if you look across cultures. So I was telling my friends in one of our group chats about.
SPEAKER_02Wait, so you said that was Brazilian TikTok or whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So I tell my friend and my my other friend, Gina, and she's Albanian. So I tell her, and she's like, Oh my gosh, my mother-in-law made a tea similar for me, and I forget what it was if somebody was sick or whatever, and it was like almost all the exact same ingredients, except I think she might have added like turmeric or something, which would also be super beneficial. And it's just so interesting. It's like here you think this girl's like, No, this is different. Right? Or like the egg dish we talked about the one time. Um what is it called? No, I can't think of it. But it was like eggs with like tomatoes. And if you talk about that, it's like, well, the Spanish people do it, well, the Greek people do it, the Italian people do it.
SPEAKER_02It's like everyone kind of Yeah, because when you were telling me about hibiscus, I feel like one of the first times I ever had anything hibiscus flavored, it was like Mexican.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like that's a very popular like drink option or whatever. It's very like refreshing and whatever. So I was like, oh, all right, that tracks. Yeah, so it's surprising to me and interesting, but okay, I'm gonna take your hibiscus thing. I did not get it today. I was bad, and I got Diet Pepsi. Also, I'm sorry, I know you hate Diet Pepsi. But I am just talking about one of the things I'm loving right now is that Panera has that drink club thing. And I don't know if you know anything about it. And I didn't know anything about it either because I don't really care about Panera.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm gonna sip on my Coke while you tell me about it.
SPEAKER_02So I stopped and got myself a drink because I watch for when they do like a deal on it, because you know I'm cheap. I think ordinarily it's like 15 bucks a month, and you just sign up for their, it's called a sip club, and then you can go there uh I think every two hours. It's not even once a day, you can go like every two hours, which is insane and nobody's gonna do it. Wow, but for the whole month, you pay$15, you get those drinks. Is all their like coke or not coke, uh soft drink products, or hot coffee, cold coffee, not like specialty coffee, but iced tea, hibiscus tea, lemonades, it's all included. So I always watch because they'll be like, Oh, you want to try it? We'll give you it for three bucks. And then so this month I have it three bucks, and I pop into Panera just on my way to pick up a kit or drop off a kit or pick up groceries, and I get a free drink because I paid three dollars for the month. So if you are an avid like coffee drinker or you have a Panera on your route, I feel like it's such a great deal. I don't I was telling somebody, and they were like, honestly, for the the base price, the 15 without any deals, I would do that. And I was like, Oh yeah, you can, but like also watch because they'll knock it way down. They'll be like, oh, five bucks this month or something. Like if you're a rewards member or whatever. So I'm loving that because I just pop in.
SPEAKER_01Don't they have drive-through stuff?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I pick it up, I don't even go in the store. It's really obnoxious. Yeah, they're just waiting on me at this point. I like to I joke around with my sister-in-law. I'm like, Panero owes me money. That's wait. I'll put a little order in my app. Okay, I'll say, like, Heather wants to pick up a diet Pepsi, and it recognizes that you're in the drink club. Yeah, I mean, I'm all signed into my app and it'll they'll just like hand it out the window while I drive by and I feel bad because I never order any food or anything. I'm just like free drink, please. Thank you. I'm really annoyed at you for lacking Pepsi. It's all they have, they don't have Coke. Oh, I would pick Coke if they have it. I guess that's the downside. But honestly, what I normally get is like they have bubbly, like they have lime bubbly. So then it's just like a sparkling water. I'm not drinking pop all day, but then I'll get hibiscus tea, unsweetened iced tea. Yeah, I do like the coffee in the morning, coffee in the afternoon. And will they put cream and sugar in all that? Yeah, you can customize your coffee. Or if you like to, you like doing your own thing, you can go in. There's like a little kiosk, you put in your phone number, and then you get your own drink. How do you see when they do the the deals? Well, because I'm yeah, because I'm like a rewards member or whatever, and I have the app on my phone, they'll send me emails or I'll open my app and it'll be like, Oh, want to come back to the drink club? You know, they try to like entice you if you've been it. But honestly, sometimes I see it on social media, you know, people who are like, hey, catch this deal. And then sometimes I've gotten it for like three months free. It's just crazy introductory offers. But every time I like blast text my whole family, and then we all do it. Because like if you're on a road trip or something, it's so great. That is a good idea. Like free coffee, yes, I will. But again, if you don't have one right by you, it's like you're not gonna go out of your way to go to Panera for a drink. But I drive by it like two times a day. Drop off a kit at sports, pick up a kit if it's you know, like it's like I'll have a coffee on my way, and I'll get a Pepsi on the way back.
SPEAKER_01I guess it's by my gym if I went the other way.
SPEAKER_02I guess it would be until if you want a code, I'll hook you up. I don't know how long this deal is going, the three dollars a month, but honestly, they do them all the time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, send it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Do you enjoy matcha? I'm a big matcha latcha.
SPEAKER_02I haven't had it in a long time. I don't remember if I do, to be honest.
SPEAKER_01I'm a big matcha girl.
SPEAKER_02Is matcha herby tasting? Does it taste grassy? It tastes a little earthy. That's what my memory of it was. So, like my daughter's really into like boba and Starbucks and coffee even. And she's like, Do you think I would like matcha? And I was like, I don't wanna persuade you that you wouldn't, but I don't think so. She would like it the way we drink it, like with enough like good stuff in it.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I don't like the way I do it because I don't like things super sweet. You're really into like the matcha lattes, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Okay, I've ordered one for you on the way to my favorite.
SPEAKER_01Or how about when we were at the airport? I I I think I told you this story, but tell it again, it's worth sharing. When we were coming home from Florida, and it was like 4 a.m. We had the earliest flight, and I ordered a matcha latte. And I I always get it iced, and um there was just like a kerfluffle at the 4 a.m. for everybody. Not caused by me, but like the girls were having a hard time with the food, and one had to leave, and then one came back, and the line was insane. Like to the point where like you're in the line for like a half hour. Yeah. Like people are in jeopardy, everybody wants their morning coffee. Right. So, and I whatever, I didn't say a word. I get there and I order my latte. I'm waiting by the thing the other girl comes back because there were two, one left, one comes back. So she didn't place my order. So she's like, Did you have the venti iced matcha latte? I said, Yeah. So she proceeds to like repeat my entire order to me, and I was just like, Yes, yes, yes, yes, that is mine. And then she goes, and I see that you have three pumps of pistachio syrup, and I said yes. And she goes, and you would like those in the cup.
SPEAKER_02I just paused there for a minute. Everybody processed the question. What are the alternatives?
SPEAKER_01The chances of this girl finding this podcast and watching this. It doesn't matter, I hope she does, are slim, but I hope she does.
SPEAKER_02No, she's out here asking the dumbest questions in the history of the show. To that, I got an earbud in her ear to that.
SPEAKER_01I would like to say, had you not gotten 4 a.m. Gina, who was trying to keep the peace, I might have said to you, no, no, in my hands. Right. Please pump it in my hands.
SPEAKER_02You just squirt it onto the floor, but I wanted to pay for that. Like, where would it go?
SPEAKER_01I just stared at her and she goes, Well, I was just checking, and I'm like, thank you for checking. The most obvious thing is.
SPEAKER_02It wasn't even like I don't even are people ordering syrups in separate cups? Like a shot of it?
SPEAKER_01Someone comment if you are are you ordering separate shots of sugar syrup.
SPEAKER_02Then I guess they're gonna give you a little cup with something else.
SPEAKER_01I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I'm not over it. It's been a month, I'm not over it. Listen, I'm usually here to push back on your like um, you know, you're like, I might have had a little bit of rage, and I'm like, maybe.
SPEAKER_01Just a smidge.
SPEAKER_02Maybe they didn't deserve that. That she needs to be called out.
SPEAKER_01Yes, in the cup, please.
SPEAKER_02Where else are we putting shots of syrup? Like because it was pistachio. Do you think it was throwing her off that you would want that in with a matcha latte?
SPEAKER_01I don't know, it's premiere. And I wish that I wish that why is pistachio seasonal? I understand gingerbread being seasonal. I understand pumpkin spice being seasonal.
SPEAKER_02What season is a pistachio? Starbucks.
SPEAKER_01I'm saying, what season do we see this come out? Like, yeah, around nowish. Nowish. Like January through, like it'll be gone soon.
SPEAKER_02It's probably it's almost like, okay, we're done with our Christmas stuff, throw something else into the like slot that's available. Like hazelnut's always there.
SPEAKER_01Why is pistachio like what did it do to you?
SPEAKER_02I guess. Because everybody's shoving pistachios into everything right now. Yeah. So anyway. But also you would think then keep it for a while.
SPEAKER_01If everyone's loving it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, right. Maybe it's a supply and demand thing. Maybe there's not enough syrup out there. Yeah. Plus the girls at Starbucks are squirting it onto the floor because I don't know what to do with it. You want that in your cup? It's good in a matcha. I just would oh, I wish that you would have just been like, no, right here, please.
SPEAKER_01I was like, I know. What are the options? You know what I'm saying? I'm not good at um being like funny, sarcastic. Like if I'm being sarcastic, I'm usually offending somebody. And then I'm like, I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_02There's no light sarcastic.
SPEAKER_01I have a hard time.
SPEAKER_02Ooh, she went for the jugular. Right?
SPEAKER_01And she was already. She was making me mad. Yeah, and I was tired. So I was like, I just gotta stare at you.
SPEAKER_02And I was like, I just gotta make this awkward. Please just give me my shooting at you. Yeah. Okay. Can I just throw in a real stupid American one after you went down like Brazilian TikTok? Have you tried the new Sam's Club popcorn? The members mark?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_02It's just popcorn. It's nothing special.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh. I thought you were like going up to the counter when you're giving a popcorn. Starbucks. Where would I put my popcorn?
SPEAKER_02No, I meant like at the counter or like, yeah, no, I don't like self-pop popcorn anymore. I just mean like it's a giant bag of popcorn, but it's just olive oil and sea salt. And it tastes like movie theater popcorn. It's voodoo. Me and Arya ate like the whole bag because it tastes like buttery movie theater popcorn, but it's just members mark.
SPEAKER_01A blue bag?
SPEAKER_02No, I think it's green.
SPEAKER_01Okay, then no, I haven't.
SPEAKER_02It's just olive oil and salt. And then, do you know that guy on TikTok? No, TikTok, Instagram, whatever. He's like the health guy and he goes around to a grocery store and tells you all your stuff is not healthy. He was talking about it, and I was like afraid to even watch, but I think he was just saying it's good. Two ingredients. Yeah, no, he goes everywhere, right? Aldi, Costco. Yeah, but I was afraid he was gonna be like, this is full of garbage. And I was like, but I love it. Yeah. Don't take my popcorn away. Maybe I did try it. Try it if you haven't. Everybody try it. And then don't buy all of it because then it'll disappear. But honestly, it tasted so good. Like I was like, surely there's butter in this. There wasn't. It was just olive oil and salt. Yeah. Try it. If you haven't tried it, try it. It's really good. I'm loving it. I love popcorn for a snack.
SPEAKER_01So that sounds very good. Alright, where are we at?
SPEAKER_02Um, I don't know. You want to like hit one more and then maybe we break off and do a part two on this? Because I feel like we have a lot of stuff.
SPEAKER_01I think we're gonna have to do a part two. Alright.
SPEAKER_02I I'm gonna take like a big jump and we'll end on this one for like my motion my mental, emotional health. What I'm loving for myself right now, is being able to set like little boundaries and just say, like, no, I can't do that, or I'm not taking that call right now, or I need a little extra time for this. Yeah. Uh like younger Heather would have just like stressed real bad and people pleased, and some things are not emergencies. Yeah. And I'm I don't know, is that coming with age for you? I think so. I think it's the stage of life we're at. I just can't care as much.
SPEAKER_01Well, and I don't, I don't want to, I don't, I don't want to be crazy. I don't want to seem unhinged or overwhelmed. I don't want to show you how irritated I am. Right. And I feel like, yeah, you can handle like a little bit less as you get older. So in an effort to manage that, I think boundaries are great.
SPEAKER_02I feel like there's also like an like I'm a little more emboldened to say I'm not going to deal with that. Yeah. Or whatever the thing is that I need to say where I didn't have that before. And maybe it just comes from like a place of being completely strung out.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I think it's age too. Because do you remember, even like sometimes, like, not to call anybody specifically out, but sometimes in church, like you would hear like the older like generation like you'd just be like, Oh, did they just say that out loud? They know we can hear that. And we would say, like, I can't wait to get to that age.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna say everything. Like, we're we're like freedom.
SPEAKER_02We're coming there, we're on like some kind of slope towards it. Yeah, and I don't not to be at all like disrespectful to anybody, it's more about like me. Yeah, it's just like I just need to like you need to stop. I don't know. A lot of it is people pleasing and just like, I don't want to look like I'm the one who dropped the ball, or I don't, you know what I mean? But like some of it's just like like you were saying earlier about like prioritizing. I'm getting better at being like this. I don't always have to accept a call when a call comes up. No, or I don't always have to answer a text just because it blooped onto my screen, or I don't always have to like whatever. Oh, she'll be upset with me if I don't. Like, I just like I don't know. I'm losing some of that. Yeah. For better or for worse. I think it's good. I'm loving it a little bit because I see that I should have been doing it more all along, and it's like, okay.
SPEAKER_01I think it's a good honestly, I think it's a good life skill. I've even had to like teach my kids that sometimes, like, where I'll say, like, you know, someone will say, Well, so and so is asking me right now, blah, blah, blah. And they're like waiting for me to tell them what to say so that they could answer. And I'm like, you don't have to answer them back, but they saw that I read it, and I'm like, then right.
SPEAKER_02Okay, first of all, turn off your red receipts.
SPEAKER_01Hello, right? It's life, life lesson number one. But you know, every everything doesn't deserve sometimes. You give an answer that you shouldn't have even given because you didn't give yourself enough time to think. Like right. I think it's a great thing, honestly. Okay. I am loving it currently.
SPEAKER_02I need it like at this stage of my life. I think I need it. So love that for you. What is this? This is like a little like a clap? Like, yes, like a clap. Thank you. Clacked it.
SPEAKER_01I'll take it. Clacked it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I don't. Is this teen stuff? I'm two.
SPEAKER_01Maybe. I don't know. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02We we have to do this. I was meeting with uh somebody in education, and I said, as the kids say, locked in. I was like, what an idiot. Did I just did I just say that to this guy? Like, I don't know why why do we try to use those words when we're like, I don't even know if this is the right way to use it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it just needs to not be old. I should actually set a boundary for myself of not I I over-explain a lot. I I talk a lot, I over-explain a lot. And I told you the faux pas that I said in the meeting, or maybe I didn't tell you my faux pas in the meeting the other night where I thought about it for like I don't think so. Minimum 15 hours after. Oh no. Yeah. Do you want to share it? Um with yeah, I mean changed the story. I mean, it Or just don't share it. I was talking about something and I said I I and I don't mean to be sexist or racist, and I would never mean to be either of those. Right. And what I was saying was geared more towards sexist because I was talking about how like I was on a team and there were a bunch of guys, and the guys were they did nothing. They didn't help us at all. Okay, we're talking about like kitchen-y thing. But I think we're so programmed to um make sure that we're like saying the right things because truly I don't want to hurt or feel like sexist or racist. Sounds like with all due respect, right?
SPEAKER_00You're about to get my real. And I wasn't about to do that at all, but then afterward, I'm like, what did I say? I'm sure everyone in the room was like, they're like, she was both blocked.
SPEAKER_02Like, just it was so it comes from a good place. You're just trying to like over the top explain yourself.
SPEAKER_01I just overexplained to the point where a lot of times I'm sure people are like, what are you talking about? Like, we didn't need to know that. Thanks for announcing that. It's like walking in a room and being like, I am here now in this room. Like, I why do I do that? Make it awkward.
SPEAKER_02I always make that awkward. You don't, you're overthinking, as you just explained, when you went home and thought about it for a while. I 15 hours. Nobody in that meeting has thought about that a second since. I texted everybody. You should reach out to Gina and let her know how much about it.
SPEAKER_01If you were in the meeting, you know you heard it. I texted most of you. I was like, I was over, I don't even know when I thought about it a second since, I guarantee. I do who who t who told me. Nia did say like that.
unknownI was like, okay.
SPEAKER_02Are we doing this right now? Why did I do this? This meeting is off the rails. I'm so dancing. No, it's just it comes from a good place. Yeah. I think. I'm here for you. I'm always gonna defend you. I'm gonna set that boundary. Unless you need to hear it. Okay, so I feel like there's categories we didn't even touch on yet. Yeah, we're gonna part two of this. We got more good stuff to share with you. Things we're loving. So come back for part two. Come back for part two next week. Whenever it drops. Yeah. Keep you posted. We don't know, but we love a lot of things. When it's here, when it's here, you're welcome. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So thanks for joining us once again.
SPEAKER_02Thank you. We'll see you guys soon. Okay, bye.
