All right, so we have just recorded episode three of our one shot, and um we're gonna do a little behind the scenes, behind the blunders, and and chat about what the players think so far about this crazy mind-bendy campaign that I've been giving them. Um so if if you want, we can recall all the way back to episode one and and review a little bit of that, or we can just dive right into what we recorded today.

Very distinct voices, but it is. Um no, I wanna I wanna I wanna get your guys' thoughts because I know that your characters are like somewhat chill right now. They're like a little uncomfortable. Like my mind is racing. Okay, so I have a couple ideas. Uh like body snatching is one of them. Like they got body snatched. Uh another thing is like, but why dogs? And so that's like my main thing is like, why why try and why try where did the dogs go? Yeah, where's the other dogs? Yeah, what and what happened? Are they like eating them or are they like um like why are they going after? Also, um, how did it all kick off? Like, is because it's like they're naturally growing um mushrooms. So maybe they found the mushrooms underground. Um but they're seeing they're like they're not like violent, maybe, but they're uh it's just weird. Like I I I there's a lot of different things. Maybe um like they turned on the heat because they were like, oh, okay, we need more heat, and then the mushrooms climbed up while they were sleeping or something like that, you know. So I want to get your guys' thoughts. What are your guys' thoughts on that?

Oh, at the moment because so here here's the thing that I've noticed, at least playing through so far with the mushrooms, yeah, they they seek warmth, right? Yeah. So like the one that was trying to get into Gordon's face, basically, right? I think that that is somehow how they like body snatched.

Right. Well, also kind of like when you say body snatched, what do you mean by that?

I think it's like a full, like uh there's a Star Trek episode where a worm sneaks into one of the uh ears of the like passengers, and then it it like uh like basically controls their minds. Okay, yeah. That's what I'm thinking.

That's that's what I I I'm leaning towards also just with We couldn't like kill the things, right? They still were moving, even in the cold, right? Yeah. And so for them, like you can split them, they still move, right? Yeah. So like there is this kind of like them just taking over, right? Kind of like what would be like alien, you know, can I think of. Um so there's that. Um or it could even have been like a chef was cooking, right? Started cooking some of the mushrooms. Although it seems like they were more like researching the mushrooms more than anything. But there were some mushrooms, I think, that weren't well that weren't the same. There's some normal like mushrooms within there are these mushrooms that were different.

Um, and I just remember that and I'm like my my alarm bells are like ringing because they all like acted like humans, but they didn't do normal things. Yeah. And so that's kinda uh Yeah.

And then there was also one of the labs that had a ton of acid and acid burns. And that one was green. And so there was an image of a lab covered in green. But most of the jelly, maybe calling it jelly versus goo.

Yeah, is a fireweed color. And again, for those of you who are not from Alaska, fireweed is a plant that grows here, and people make jelly out of the blossoms. So it has this bright fuchsia pink color. So that's the reference I used for the fuchsia jelly.

But at the same time, okay, one of one of my things though is with the shoot, what's his name? The guy that was flying at the beginning.

Yeah, he seemed to be a wizard. And he seemed to be I mean he cast two, like if I obviously metagame in a little bit, but two lightning bolts is lightning bolts. Third level spell, he can fly, which is another third level spell, um, and he cast it three times. So he must have been a pretty high level wizard in my in my brain. Yeah. Um, mechanical-wise. Um, but um I also think that like what like he was missing an arm. Oh, he must have been low on hand. Or a hand, yeah. Hand on his uh, yeah, no, he must he was at one HP basically because it's like one D6 of falling damage.

So that's like Aggro actually a good guy? Because Okay, here I'll I'll get to it, yeah. The reason I say is Um So why would his arm be chopped off? Hand, sorry, his hand, if maybe one of the mushrooms attached, right? And so he just cut it off because he knew he couldn't destroy. Oh no. And the dog has a has one of the mushrooms in it, and he's been maybe that's where they got into the dog.

And then I'm curious. Brad, you're spot. I think you're spot on with that. I think you are because they were so happy to see, or like, to be like, oh, bring him back to us. Maybe they you only can get possessed if you're like um in like an unconscious uh condition. Does that make sense? Because they were maybe like his death, they weren't super broken up by his death. His death. Yeah, they were kind of, but they weren't sure they were like, oh, that's sad, but they were bringing him back though. Yeah. Yeah. Um they don't have much empathy. Yeah. I'm oh I left him in uh but that that could also be I'm the worst security guard ever.

So that's what I'm wondering, because sometimes, you know, just what looks obvious when you're just standing there of some guy chasing down a dog, right? Seems like, what's wrong with this guy? He's terrible. But he could have been he could have been trying to save us.

I'm curious if it is like a situation when they get cold, it like because my going theory is that there's like some kind of brain snatching going on right now. But it's weird because the foot wasn't a normal foot, but that all lined up. So maybe that's like a normal thing. Like that I because I was like, okay, well, that's just weird. But I'm curious if we turned off the heat completely and froze them out. Would the mushrooms get ejected from their brains? But then again, because I don't know why you would turn down the heat. You know what I'm saying? Because they turned it down. Yeah, they had to turn it down.

What I was planning on doing was actually leaving outside, um using invisibility, and then walking back inside as you close the door. Uh-huh. And so I could hear them talk about us after they thought that we left to see if that would work. See if there's anything. I'm thinking like if they're not right in the head, they just like stand there.

I was gonna be like, Hey, doctor, I I'm so excited about you, and just keep touching people, um, and just keep on like uh so that was my sickness when I I'll be honest, whenever whenever you first started, and it was uh was it Java that you were talking to or something?

But I wanted I wanted to do something that was like like almost uh heightened what he would be doing, like what he thinks and stuff. So everything was gonna be like way more dramatic, way more like uh like touching like people and things like that. Or like if if it was still going down, I would just start touching like the goop. I would have been like touching the goop and stuff. Like completely opposite, but like heightened his like awareness because he has high investigation, high perception, which is like always aware. So it's like, oh I let me feel stuff, let me ooh, let me look at things like more heightenedly, more obsessively.

And so my what I was going to do once I saw it, my idea, um so my sickness was that I have uh I was attached to a lucky charm, and if I was more than thirty feet away from it, I have a disadvantage on like everything. Whoa. And so I was looking for another stick, like in their lab. That was so funny. But when did we receive that back before we even traveled?

Yeah, it was weird because uh the way you described it was like almost an AI that was trying to make a foot. Um, his his actual Yeah, but i I don't understand um Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, that's a little puzzling to me. I'm I'm guessing that's an actual thing, but they're like remembering fake memories because they were also mixed up on that too.

Yeah, it's yeah, that's where the the uh Stranger Things got it from. Gotcha. Yeah. Um, and so I think that they're like mind flare mushrooms. Um and they like almost like that, yeah. Yeah, almost like almost took over the uh uh micon um mycon people. Yeah. Yeah, and I think that's like cells.
