Welcome back to the Courage Code. I'm Bex Gold. In the last two episodes, something important happened. You woke up. You felt the crack. You stopped ignoring what you know to be true. And maybe you made a quiet decision inside yourself. I can't keep abandoning me. Today is about what comes next. Because there's a moment, subtle maybe, but powerful, where awareness turns into choice. And that choice, it's not about blowing up your life. It's about choosing yourself. So, segment one, what choosing yourself actually means. Let's clear something up right away. Choosing yourself is not selfish. It's not reckless. It's not about walking away from everything overnight and blowing the you know what out of your life. Choosing yourself means you stop overriding your truth. You stop negotiating with what you know isn't right. You stop shrinking to maintain comfort. It's internal first. It's the moment you say, My voice matters. My truth matters. I matter. And from that place, everything begins to shift. So, segment two is about why this feels so big, even if the action is small. So here's what's interesting: the first time you truly choose yourself, the action might look small. You say no instead of yes. You speak up instead of staying quiet. You pause instead of pushing through. But internally, it feels massive! Oh my god, I broke through. I did something huge. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, I'm scared. Because you're breaking a pattern that may have been running for years, even decades. Patterns of people pleasing, overfunctioning, avoiding discomfort, silencing your own needs. Anyone know that? So when you choose differently, even once, your entire system feels it. That's why it feels big, because it is. So now the identity shift begins here. This is where identity starts to change. Not because you declared it, but because you acted in alignment with the truth, babe. Every time you choose yourself, you sent a signal. Boop, boop, boop, boop. I am someone who honors what I know. That's how identity is rebuilt. Not through affirmations. Trust me, I did those for years and didn't do crap. Not through motivation, through aligned action. And those actions, small as they seem, compound. Keep just putting one right on top of each other. You're gonna compound, and the change is gonna be amazing. It means that you're doing it right. Let's be honest about something. Choosing yourself will feel uncomfortable. You're not used to it. You're breaking some patterns, you're doing something different, you might even feel guilty. You might second guess yourself. You might wonder if you're doing the wrong thing. Stick with it, babe. It doesn't mean that you are, it means you're doing something new, and that can be uncomfortable. Your nervous system is used to the old way. So even healthy change can feel unsafe at first. Discomfort is not the signal to stop. It's often the signal that you're growing beyond who you used to be. Fear will try to renegotiate this. It's where fear gets strategic, not loud, not dramatic, subtle. It will say things like, just this one more time. It's not worth the tension. Maybe you're overthinking it. Fear doesn't disappear when you choose yourself, it adapts. But here's the difference now. You can see it. And once you can see it, you don't have to obey it anymore. Get out of here, fear. I'm done with you, babe. I'm moving on. So let's choose yourself, let's build self-trust. This might be the most important part. Every time you choose yourself, even a small way, you build self-trust and self-confidence. And self-trust and confidence changes everything because when you trust yourself, you stop needing constant validation. You stop second-guessing every single move that you make. You start making decisions from alignment. Really important. Aligned decisions are amazing. You're making them from alignment, not fear. Confidence isn't built by getting it right, it's by built by having your own back. And that starts here. So, what does this look like in real life? This isn't abstract. This is practical. Choosing yourself might look like saying no to something that drains you, setting a boundary you've avoided. Having a conversation you've been putting off. Guilty, guilty, guilty question mark. Take a step towards something that feels aligned, even if it's uncertain. Not everything changes at once, but something shifts every time you act in truth. Little things build upon each other. You don't need to be perfect, you need to be honest. You're not going to get this right every time. You'll fall back into old patterns. Sometimes you'll catch yourself, people pleasing again. You'll hesitate. That's part of the process. This isn't about perfection, babe. It's about awareness and return. Every time you notice and come back to yourself, that's courage. This is where your life starts to change. If you've been waiting for a sign, this is it. Not to make a massive move, not to overhaul your entire life. Some of us do, we just blow it up when we decide to make changes, but to choose yourself once in one moment, in one decision, because that's how it starts. And once it starts, it doesn't stay small. I'm Bex Gold, and this is the Courage Code. Until the next time, break fear, live true, be limitless.
