SPEAKER_00

Gossip! Gassipiers Hallo, I hope you're all ready for episode two of Gossip Yours.

SPEAKER_04

Um we have some great topics on today, so we get started. Um How do you feel, girls? It's by the way, it's the mother's own initial. How do you feel, girls, about gaslighting? Do you know what that is?

SPEAKER_03

Gaslighting is when a boy or a woman can control you and manipulate you, like change you as a person mentally and physically, like so it can damage your mental health as well as your physical appearance.

SPEAKER_04

And would you know like because it's boys as well suffer from girls, would you know like signs to watch out for?

SPEAKER_03

Uh yeah. Um a change in their appearance, like how they carry their self, because some people can be really, really bubbly and then they can get into um No, but what I mean is like if if it was happening to your sex, for example, okay.

SPEAKER_04

Um at the start, okay, would you know what to watch out at early stages?

SPEAKER_03

Um a boy saying, Oh like why are you wearing that outfit? Like, I don't think you should wear that, or oh, I don't think you should be friends with her anymore because I don't like her, and stuff like stupid small things that people might think is stupid, but it's actually still a way of manipulating and controlling you as a person.

SPEAKER_04

I think that's really important for younger boys and girls, and I'm sure you agree with me. Because boys don't suffer with smaller girls that are aware of that, because unfortunately it's it is happening. And I do think as ye as a younger generation, you know, we were looking to never suffer it. Like there is a lot more women than men that do, but I do think like ye can stop it from an early stage and if you do see those signs to walk away. Because as much as they say, Oh, I don't I won't get me that, I won't do it again, I'm sorry, oh I was just being a half of an audio.

SPEAKER_05

Um obvious, wasn't it? Normally when people get together, it's not for the first time, say if they're a few months or whatever together, it's about a year or two, things will start changing down alone with them.

SPEAKER_04

As the saying comes, come live at me, get to know me. Yeah, that really does. So, like today in generation, it's a lot different because we've got social media and stuff. We didn't have that years ago. We were lucky to have a touchboard, you know. So there is a lot more now, you know, the girls with their videos and stuff like that, and buys and stuff like that. So I do think as girls, when you first stage us, if you ever have a bite control ye, like and it could be a simple little thing, you could put a little remark like, oh, don't wear eyelashes. That's just the little thing I was saying. Don't wear eyelashes, I don't know. I think you're nice.

SPEAKER_03

Is that because I don't have eyelashes on today?

SPEAKER_04

No, no, I'm just saying in general, the reason I'm saying eyelashes is because all the young girls wear them. I'm just saying in general, you know.

SPEAKER_05

Imagine you, Kathleen, being told if you were with somebody. Keki, don't wear eyelashes or nails.

SPEAKER_04

They'd be going out the door as quick as they can. That's what I'm trying to get to. Because they're a little simple thing saying don't put eyelashes on, okay? Like this don't you look at the shit. But that's a choice that you as a person should say, Well, I like them, and if you want to wear them, not for him to say, Oh, well, I prefer you without them. That's your choice, and that's what I'm trying to get at. Don't like let no one dictate you or tell you what to do. It's all those little things you have to watch for because it prevents the bigger thing. You can walk away. So just to make it aware for boys' angers, because like boys can suffer in other ways, like you know, girls can be just as bad and devious too, like. But um Is there anything else there that you might maybe want to put up within an eater?

SPEAKER_05

No, I think you covered it also any of the more or less. We got to do toes too. Going to parties.

SPEAKER_04

No, 100%.

SPEAKER_05

Socialise on my girls, a lot of fellas, that's where I'm gonna do that.

SPEAKER_04

No, you don't want to go in here and trying to go, oh, don't go out, don't go out. You don't put up with that life. And I don't care if it's my own son, it's anyone in the morning, if if someone's putting up with that. If he's mistreating a girl like that, I tell her walk away, don't put up with it. My door is being nasty to why I'd say, Hey, look at you deserve better, walk away. Um I think a big thing as well, what we might discuss here today is uh body images. Um how do you feel about that?

SPEAKER_03

I think it's different from her. It's really different for everyone because you can get different shapes of girls, different sizes, different weights, like but people can be judged on it as well.

SPEAKER_04

That's what I'm saying. How do you think today the the the pressure on the judgment is?

SPEAKER_05

Oh, Kaki, you're like that if you put a pair of shorts on it on the top. She'll run out to me and she'll say, How did that look? And I'd say you look lovely, Khaki. It'll be I know you're only saying that and go back and then.

SPEAKER_04

I know I haven't changed it to something else. Well I think it is. There's a lot of pressure, and I I to be honest with you, I also I think the reason there's a lot of pressure on it, girls, is all these TikToks and Instagrams and stuff. And they know all these filters and stuff. You have to remember, like, it's that's not real life.

SPEAKER_05

No, you know. And do you ever see a lovely tick, uh, say they do a TikTok, but a lovely they're lovely inside it. Yeah, you think so. And then they put that uh blobby filter thing in their face.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. I always say you have to be confident in your own attribute, and I think unfortunately, a lot of girls are so embarrassed to what they look like, and that's why they're filtering it, they're changing how they look. Be confident for you, and like he should be the younger ones to try and set that change.

SPEAKER_03

And boys can be very hold on now, hold on now. No, but girls are judged. Well, a boy is worse than a girl when it comes to a girl's.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah, but I see a lot of what girls there is about, oh, they want this fella tall. I remember in the episode they want six haunting this, like do you know? So girls are just as the girls is just as as judgmental as boys. You will not all boys just like it's not a few.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I'm very straightforward, but I can't hide my feelings.

SPEAKER_04

No, but some boys are very soft-hearted, and you know what I mean. They actually do think God love them, and you know something, uh the fella that mightn't be six foot tall, he might be five foot ten, and he might have a better heart than the fella that's six foot five. So uh don't be body image, and that's why I'm saying all got to do with looks.

SPEAKER_03

No, I don't I personally would actually rather someone who is presentable and passable than uh a king coming through the door to your.

SPEAKER_04

When you're going forward for your TikToks and stuff, for example. Try and ex be more like how can I say without getting offended. Be more yourselves and don't say, Okay, I'm gonna do this now because I want people please. And I'm doing it for the people. You want to please yourself. Yes. You want to please yourself, and by ye doing that, it's giving another girl the confidence to say, look, she was doing it, and she actually just looked lovely. Let ye be the change. Like, you know what I mean? Let ye say, okay, I'm gonna be confident in myself, and then if I'm confident in myself, then might let another little girl see, okay, look, she done it, and tried, and you know, because I think I think little girls, a lot of little girls now is just so much pressure on how they look. Yeah, you know, and all that and a lot of this as well with plastic surgery and stuff, and fair play to anyone, anyone that wants to have it done, no problem. But I hope that they're getting it done for the right reasons, that they're getting it done because it's something that's making them self-better. That's not getting it done because oh, you want down here looking and she looks you really well, but it's something like do I really need that done? Like if if if it's making you very self-conscious, people get it done.

SPEAKER_05

And it changes their personality, and even that personality. This is what happens as well.

SPEAKER_04

I think they forget, no, there is a side effects of the pressure and sufferment. There is, and I think when people see somebody else and they're like, you know, because a lot of women are beautiful looking, you know what I mean? They do look gorgeous, there's no point saying they don't, like we all love to look like Beyonce and Telly and stuff, you know what I mean? Like let's say it, like, but you have to remember that like that, it's the other side of it. Like you can see your your whole body's changed, so you have to watch it. You have your personality changes.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, everything's changed.

SPEAKER_04

Because when your body changes, your it's like a whole different person. So you have to adjust it and sometimes you don't overcome like that. Sometimes you can go into several period of depression because you're it's so much changing at once.

SPEAKER_05

And then you have to keep yourself as that person must say of it, as you got yourself changed into.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It's like you're walking on a line and you can't go off it.

SPEAKER_04

You have to know because you have to stay healthy, yeah. You're constantly exercising, because I obviously live that's for example if you have a tummy tuck, right? Your weight won't go back in your tummy, but you go to your back and your arms, and this so you have to constantly work out, you constantly watch your dream. So it's basically before you have surgery you're trying to dite to lose weight, right? Okay, my diet went out the window about 10 years, but Anna. You know what I mean? What I'm saying. So but you still have to do that. And like there's a lot for a younger generation to not just think jump in because see you on how it and she looked lovely.

SPEAKER_05

Or do you ever hear people? Oh, seriously, is that you and that photo? Look at you there, look at you now. That's as much as say you're off the game at 50 pounds there, like I want that announcement. Or something.

SPEAKER_04

Look at me, look what I went through in those years. Come back to me then no, do you know?

SPEAKER_05

But I do. Look at you now, I be yeah, I'm still here. I'm still the same person.

SPEAKER_04

No, but anyway, girls, we go back onto your topics and we'll talk about what ye like. Because my gosh, will this episode go on? Beauty.

SPEAKER_05

So you should be good at this.

SPEAKER_04

So what you think with your lashes with nails, like in our time there was none of that. It was a lick a mascara and a pencil in eyebrow. Pencil, eyebrows. Literally an eyebrow, an eyeliner pencil.

SPEAKER_05

Rub it on your eye and mustn't have it. Or you'd wear them on your own when you know you're going back at home. You'd be dare rub them you'd think you're two black eyes when you walk in.

SPEAKER_04

Oh yeah. So like how how would you feel now, like, if you had to go without your eyelashes?

SPEAKER_03

Well, I feel like a man right now because I don't have eyelashes on my face. That's what I'm saying. You're so dependent on those stuff, aren't you? I can't go without eyelashes. I'm not Anne's person Anne's personality goes when she has no eyelashes or no name.

SPEAKER_04

I think you look beautiful just as you are, like Kathleen's beautiful. No Annabelle. Annabelle is beautiful.

SPEAKER_05

Be like Kathleen. She'll give an hour for she'll go to bed, putting in what's the months?

SPEAKER_04

Individuals. Individuals. To take them off from the bottom.

SPEAKER_05

I genuinely reckon I have a siffer. Do you sleep with your eyes open, the beddy won't fall off? The small black meal rosa become normal.

SPEAKER_04

Here, Kaki, look, some of the black and I put them back in for you. But like underneath, they're very and that's great. I love that you're looking after yourself.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, it's looking at me yourself, like it's not oh it's yeah, you perceive anybody. No, I couldn't I couldn't see myself like I'm wet out my nails and eyelashes now, but I could not see myself going fully, fully without nails.

SPEAKER_04

I love that you look after yourself. I actually am so and I'm not sure you're the same with her. Yeah. Because like we like don't get me wrong, my mother was always amazing, but my mother, she was a great woman, always told you mind yourself and stuff like that, so I I came for that, right? But it wasn't to the extent of what G the younger this generation is. But I'm I I'd be very proud when I see my girls looking after their skin and their teeth. I l I love that. Like so, like Anne now has her skin boosters done and she gets her facials done. I get facials done. Um like you wouldn't think a couple of years ago she's severe acne. I remember that. Do you remember how when she was first came out?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. And you were very embarrassed and was like, Yeah, very self-conscious.

SPEAKER_03

I used to I used to use smooth filters on my skin. There's no point in hiding it. Oh god, I did. Now I didn't edit my face or what my face was. She was so conscious. But I was so self-conscious about my face, I would smooth completely smooth my face out to where it looked like that there, that would have sat. But I started getting skin boosters, like I used to always get them anywhere, but I couldn't when I the doctor had given me stuff for my acne. But when I came off it, I started getting skin boosters, I got microneedle. Brilliant micro microneedles very an acne scar and it is brilliant. Like you wouldn't think I had severe acne scarn here on my chin or on my forehead because I got microneedle and my skin, thank god, looks so well.

SPEAKER_05

That does, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And like I don't even use it, like I do use expensive days washes and stuff, dermological, like it it is a pricey enough, and LMS, but the cream that I actually put on my face, it's only the the cheap Nivea and Astral. The white bottle and Nivea and you know the ashtray tub or some cream. That's it. That's like that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_04

And I I love to see that you're doing that. I l I love the girls' mind on their skin, so that I love like because that's your skin, your glow. You don't you're natural, you just lick a mascara and your skin is glowing y glow. But it's it's like how so independent. They're they can't leave without their eyelashes, they have to have their nails, they have to have their eyebrows done.

SPEAKER_05

Everything.

SPEAKER_04

They have to have a hundred minute sunbeds done. Thank you, Annabelle. I was just about to get to a hundred minute course of some bed. And uh, oh I I don't look, I need to go to some bed I feel but you've just done one.

SPEAKER_05

I hope our Cathy becomes a number one. Oh, wouldn't it be nice if I've got a load of sunbed minutes for Christmas? Oh, I'd be jumping over. Yeah, I had to buy the eight.

SPEAKER_04

There's a D Lan in Cash in here today. I had to buy a. I was simply talking. Yeah, well I had to buy them so I know how you feel.

SPEAKER_03

I got it. I'm going in I'm going now. After this, I'm doing a 15-minute sunbed and I'm getting a button of cream for myself.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I've tried to give me a button hot-totty in 200 minutes.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I'm just hardly tatting. I used that once and I got a sunbed person, but not to be bad. I had loaded out my legs for a for a week now.

SPEAKER_04

So I don't recommend it. Oh no. But like, so I am. I think that's great that you get those things to mind your skins. And like, is there any specific creams you'd recommend, girls, that you like for your younger? So, what cream would you use?

SPEAKER_02

Like, for me, whenever I'm wash my face, I just use cervey. Your service's brilliant. Yeah. Because it I like I used to have acne very bad as well, and on top of my forehead, I still get an odd few spots. My mother remembers that. Um is very good for windows.

SPEAKER_04

But you know what's brilliant as well? I'll say this, and it's only cheap. And I this what I used to use in Anne when she was younger before she had skin boosters. The nip plus fab, they're um salinic acids.

SPEAKER_03

Wow.

SPEAKER_04

Uh and I used to use witch hazel and rose water. Witch hazel really acne is and rose water wells. And now that she's older, it's different because you can get the you know how to use the channel. Yeah, because I I'm older now.

SPEAKER_03

So I can get the skin boosters because I am of the age.

SPEAKER_04

But they're only cheap, like uh, and her skin was you see the difference in skin with them. But I've got some job in your skin something. Yeah, no, and she uses like she said, every skin is like.

SPEAKER_03

No, I got the microneedlin. Microneedlin. Microneedolin stopped my scar. Now I did have scarring on my chin and on my forehead. Do you remember how bad she was? A year ago I had severe like five months ago, she was very much. I had severe scarring on my forehead, but I started getting microneedlin, I got skin boosters, I started getting facials, like I'd get two facials a month until my and is without a doubt, she's amazing at her skincare.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I'm very morning, night. She will do it. It doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_03

And if I have the time, I do it a third time a day. She's still washing clean her skin.

SPEAKER_05

So she's very good at skin. I wake in her at what's the name of it at quarter to seven in the morning. You imagine from a quarter to seven sitting in what's the vanity and a chair with the phone in and she's singing, doing TikToks, and she's rubbing on the screen. I'll be cattling, seriously, you're not ready yet.

SPEAKER_04

Five minutes, these all these five minutes to words. Isn't it great that they are confident? Like in a you know what I mean that they want to do that. Both listen and we'll move forward, girls, because we'll be here chatting all this.

SPEAKER_06

Can I ask you just to jump in again? This is me being annoying, but you brought up the topic of sunbeds. Now, how does everybody feel about sunbeds? Because there's new research coming out saying that they're not actually healthy.

SPEAKER_05

Hate them. No, I don't like sunbeds. Me and Anna, oh, I love my sunbeds. Me and Kathleen do have an argument. She'll wait till I'm at the table filling out the dinner, she'll start about some bits.

SPEAKER_02

I'll start we're spinning today. Will you bring it?

SPEAKER_05

I'll just turn around, I'll hit the what's the name of the spoon off the pot. I'll say Kathleen. You getting a dinner, don't want to hear about sunbits. Uh but please, but please, I'll do quite a bit.

SPEAKER_03

I love my sunbeds, but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend another girl to do sunbeds, and I wouldn't force any other girl to go on a sunbed because I know the the bad sides of sunbeds and the good sides, because there is good sides of sunbeds also, as well as bad. Oh yeah, okay, I I will em I don't like sunbeds.

SPEAKER_04

Full stop and maybe they're an addictive nature to it.

SPEAKER_03

It's like an addiction that people would have with drugs that I have with some bed. Like I can't go a day without a sunbeds. After when I was in my car crash, I couldn't do a sunbed, obviously for weeks, thanks be to God, we're here. Like, but I couldn't do a sunbed for nearly five weeks after my car. I got like so badly I so badly depressed I wouldn't I wouldn't even go to my normal shop in the morning.

SPEAKER_02

A month and a half.

SPEAKER_05

She came in one day and turning green. Look at me. My skin is the colour is fading away. Like the sky serious aspect. What did I go down and buy you? Is it here or then in if you feel so bad about your skin? And the business goes out here for each time.

SPEAKER_04

I had all this. No, but the serious aspect, I am happy they are being banned. And I know a lot of them here are gonna look at me, and a lot of girls probably look at and say, Oh, I am, because there's so much cancer happening.

SPEAKER_05

There is, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, and I know you're young, you don't understand, but sometimes unfortunately the cancer happens and there's no cure.

SPEAKER_03

But could they not just do it in a way that there's certain things banned, but the excess amount of minutes? Because I see girls going in doing 25 minutes and that's not right or normal. Because the if they're going to do 25 minutes, yes, somebody don't even do half an hour.

SPEAKER_04

Some summit shop shop now. No, seriously. But no, I'm gonna say, okay, I know what you're saying the excess, okay. But I'm gonna come back here again. No, and don't come back at me with bitterness, right? Because remember you're going home with me in the car. Yeah. Okay. Right, so this is the side. Fags they should be banned, but as I said, that's a bigger thing. So that's why the government owns money and stuff like that, okay. Some bits is a smaller market, you're saying lesser time. One fag can take away some of your lifetime.

SPEAKER_03

One fag can take ten years off your life.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so I'm just saying, for an example, one sunbite can do the same, it can age you, and that one extra, so that one sunbit you can do can be a closer chance you're having cancer. Yes. So there's no oh just lesser time, no, okay. I I love and I know you love them and I I understand that listen, I'm not hypocriting, I've done them years ago, so I'm not hypocriting nobody. But uh, because I'm older, I'm giving you my advice from an older age. But because I'm older, I'm around a longer knee, and I've seen the damage that can do because women age, and oh my gosh, I see some women that's my age and they're doing them. It does not be. But the government is going to be losing more money out in their economy rather than Okay, I'm not speaking of the government, I'm speaking as a mother's love for a daughter.

SPEAKER_03

But rather, yeah, but the government is going to lose more because there'd be more holidays booked. Because I myself I will book five or six holidays a year if I have to. They're going to lose more money in their economy than they actually are going to gain. Okay, no, I know.

SPEAKER_04

But as a scene, like with the cancer thing, I'm saying there's so many young people. There is Shiny, and I will admit that as well. Skin cancer melatonin has gone through the roof. And she's a good thing.

SPEAKER_05

Frightening if you go on Facebook and see all the young youngers. Yeah, but like the meeting.

SPEAKER_04

Some beds is around since we were younger.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Right? But they were never a ting.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_05

We done it for the summer. I don't ever remember being as big as a ting as they are now with the big things.

SPEAKER_04

No, I remember doing sunbeds, but I only ever done them, like I said, in the summertime when I'm younger. And you done it for a few weeks, and that was it, like. Right.

SPEAKER_05

And when the good weather came in, you'd be told the sun is busting stones.

SPEAKER_04

I'd say outside the ball of baby island and I'm going to think to spar girls, baby island black vinegar. Yes, and I we used to be like excessive no, I used to go that's my own colour, I don't do some bits. I used to go excessively dark. Yeah, no, I tell you, try it. Well, I won't tell you try it.

SPEAKER_03

When I when I was because I I stopped using ham when I was 13 just over my own skin because I was exactly. And when I you sit out in the sun, or when we'd go on holidays, baby I didn't lack the nugget and my my skin, I was like a like completely mahogany dark, like it was it wasn't right. So it does work at all.

SPEAKER_06

So the answer is basically to go around like a bag of fish and chips.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. No, but obviously you have a shower that evening, do you know what I mean? Which when you're sitting out in the sun for a few hours, that's what I used to do. But I won't like even so just sit down here with anything. Do you know what I mean? But not doing a summer. We never used to go off now like anyone's ears.

SPEAKER_05

But we were in a rear and you never walked off or Tires can be. Oh, it was roasting God. I thought I'd have roasted my day.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Sun is busting stones candling outside. What's happening, I'm there? The sun is shining. I said, Come out there for everyone to look at me. Oh, I said, there's a sunbed in the town. Can I go watch a neck and candy sun?

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna have this one I was to have already put it on screen. I said, My girl's gone, I mean, you've already watched them. Let's see outside. Oh, I've got to take one. Come on about seven o'clock in the club. We go on my mummy's coming for sunbed. I said, You haven't had to have this bed.

SPEAKER_05

Mummy brought us to house her sunbeds. She will not come near me. Go up to the go up to the house. Send down drinking mugs here. Mummy, where are you? And he says, Did you forget? The sunbell is gonna close. Please, Horiana, come back down. I have this name.

SPEAKER_03

Please, you know before I got my car. Mummy, where are you gone? The sunbell is closing in an hour. Why are you gone? Do you know now that I have my car? We'll have all our work done.

SPEAKER_04

Mummy, we're gone for a symbol. It's on this rushes, Shirley, for 10 minutes. No, but hello, I often went out for ten minutes. I often took her to Cosmo. But I but Yeah. Shouldn't be saying this on the podcast, but it's the travellers we are travellers. The girls will be younger underage. Now she's older now, but we are. So you'd only start now, sunburst shops let them in. So I often have to drive an hour, a half, maybe a half hour, 40 minutes, 10 hour drive, right? Sit outside that sunburst shop. I could be an hour, maybe an hour and twin minutes waiting for the queue of the sunburst shop to drive them home for a 10 minutes on bed.

SPEAKER_05

I'd see you drawn the summer. And Nini Kemper. Imagine what I'd be if I'd highlights in my hair and attended a half.

SPEAKER_04

Oh I had all this.

SPEAKER_05

I'd be lovely, Catlin do we are? You're not touching it. Well, I'll tell you, I'm gonna die fifty different colours when I get in should be.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I make you laugh to know my father one time. Father came back, he was wrecked. It's eight o'clock in the evening, he was lying down watching a film. I knew that the sunbeds in Dublin closed at 10 o'clock.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And no, she knew. I met him go to Mummy to get mummy to drive me to Dublin for my sunbed. But if I had kept her daddy's road my crocker. If I had kept my daddy for five more minutes, daddy would have drove me in his Jeep up to Dublin for a sunbed.

SPEAKER_04

No, Nini, did she put us through her hardship in life? But listen, back to another thing on that.

SPEAKER_06

Hang on a second. How far is it from Dublin from an hour and a half, an hour and a half. To get a sunbed.

SPEAKER_04

Martin, you don't understand what this she has done to me. Martin, the thing she's done to me in life is just luck.

SPEAKER_03

And if I didn't get my son bed, well, my family may as well just go sign their lives away because there was no peace. No one was asleep on that.

SPEAKER_04

Do you know what I'd actually do just not listen to her? I drive to sit in the car to have that bit of peace.

SPEAKER_05

Do you know what I'd do? I'd go way later in the house and scream and roar.

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_04

Your skin is okay. Right, well, this is the sunbeds. They're bad for you, stay away from them. Anyway.
