Go behind the scenes of a Construction Business Blueprint live event at the Balmoral Hotel.

In this episode, Marc takes you through a day inside the CBB Boardroom, where trade and construction business owners come together in person to review Q1, plan Q2, and get clear on the numbers, systems, structure and decisions that actually move their business forward.

This isn’t a motivational seminar or another generic coaching event.

Inside the room, we break down real construction businesses, real challenges, and the key areas every founder needs to understand, including revenue, profit margin, pipeline, lead generation, conversion rates, team structure, leadership and the role AI can play in the future of construction businesses.

You’ll also see why the in-person community aspect of the Blueprint matters so much.

These events give business owners the chance to step away from the day-to-day, have honest conversations, build relationships, and leave with clarity on what needs to happen next.

If you own a trade or construction business and you want more time, more profit and more control, this is the type of room you need to be in.

Heading To The Boardroom Day

SPEAKER_00

So we're just heading here to the Balmoral Hotel for another construction business blueprint in-person event. Really excited to get stuck in. Great to get everybody in the room together. I keep labouring that point about loving to get everybody in a room. So many different things and things available to people out there, coaching programmes and all the rest of it. But there's nothing better than getting all the clients in a room together, have them all chatting, having a conversation, being able to deliver a piece on stage and get loads of engagement and talking back and forth. There's just nothing quite like it. So yeah, really excited to get stuck in today. Today, again, it's not just me standing on stage trying to hype everybody up and get everybody excited. Um, quite the opposite. We're gonna have, as always, inside the blueprint, we're gonna have real in-depth conversations about everybody's business in this industry and the challenges we all face. We're now at the end of Q1, so obviously the the initial the first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna do a full Q1 review, and again, everyone's got their own work, but we're gonna break it down on what's working well. We're gonna be scoring our performance in each uh key area in our business, like team, structure, leadership, time, all those things, um, and even financial. We're gonna look at those in detail, we're gonna be scoring those, and then that's gonna organically push us into the Q2 planning session. So we're gonna take one action inside the blueprint. We always focus on one major action that's gonna push everybody forward in quarter two. There's obviously so many things that you can actually work on at any point in time. Like you know, people always try and solve so many issues at once. Inside the blueprint, we're all about one major focus, one major focus that makes the biggest impact. Focus on that and nothing else, get that achieved, and the impact it'll have on your business is fantastic when you put all your focus into one thing. So, we're gonna be looking at the headline focus, then we're gonna be looking into the metrics. So, for my clients, for new clients coming on board, we're gonna have new clients or existing clients, guys who are only starting, guys who've been here a long time. We're gonna start a new standard of five key metrics in your business that every business owner should know. And we're gonna go through each of those metrics in terms of revenue, profit margin, pipeline, um, lead generation, you know, conversion rates on sales, all those things, kind of stuff that nobody's really going in depth about in the industry at the moment. We're gonna go really deep into those and we're gonna have those as a new baseline, a new minimum that every founder, no matter how busy they are, is going to know those key five metrics in their business at any shape or time. But we're not just gonna tell them that's what they need to know, we're gonna show them exactly how they achieve that in their business. Then we're moving on to Kev's gonna show us Kev is my party member through the market and then AI automation, and we're gonna go through the new clan portal that we've built for all of our new members. So, really exciting day. We're gonna have some food, it's gonna be a great day, great conversations, and more importantly, everybody is going to leave, knowing exactly where they are in business and what they need to do when they leave the room. Kind of get stuck in, to be honest. Yeah, a lot of a lot of prep goes into this, and uh yeah, I just like to get them, get them, get them in, get them done, get them over with in the best sense possible. These guys are all my clients, some guests as well, but it's a room full of great people. You know, everybody that's inside the blueprint are all great guys, you know. There's a great sort of relationship in there, client, you know, cultural, and it's just a great rapport, great room. Like anybody can walk into this room and feel comfortable with the group of guys that are here. So, no, I don't get nervous. Um, more than anything, I just get excited. I always obviously put so much into today, all the slides, everything, the food, the setup, and I genuinely just enjoy it. Like I love to see people's reactions as I'm going through it and the realisations and just coach them through things. So it's more like an apprehension just to get just to get stuck in more than anything else, to be honest, you know. Obviously, you're always conscious you want the ring just to go well. As far as nerves go, I'll kind of have enough reps in now too to just be comfortable with it, you know. Everybody's here for the same reason, you know. Even for me, it's it's so there's no kind of no need to be nervous. I think in person is crucial. I think a lot of the time people can sort of fall behind the scenes or you're stay quietly in the background on Zoom. You know, on Zoom you can't like Zoom's good, it has a purpose. It gets you to meet as regularly as possible. The thing everything can be recorded, although we're we're still recording things today, but the community aspect is something I'm quite passionate about inside the blueprint where like these guys are coming from all over UK and Ireland to be here today. And it's it's just different when you're in the room together and you're actually talking to people, seeing the whites of their eyes, you know, a lot of the time on Zoom. The opportunity the guys just kind of really ask me questions, you know, and again, people maybe sit there and and maybe but hesitant. So it's good to get people out, it's good to get people meeting up in person, it's good for people to actually meet each other, have conversations, they're almost forced to have conversations. And you know, a lot of these guys, especially in construction, this setting is quite unusual for them. That it's probably they're probably new to it altogether, and it's good to get them kind of out of their comfort zone, I think, and get them comfortable in this situation. And in terms of just actually having the opportunity to sit beside somebody else and say, asked what's the crack with you, how's things going with you, and blah, what do you do? And then the conversation goes, they've got similar challenges, similar problems, all the similar goals in this room, talking about where they're at and how they've been and what they're going through, and it just resonates. And again, that community just builds stronger and stronger. But I think that's only really possible. That sort of connection is only really possible in person. So I think it's crucial to get everybody here, and you always get people trying to obviously sometimes back out of it too, but it's crucial that we do get in here and get in person. Just does it that one wee bit step further than than behind a computer screen or behind a you know a keyboard where people are even sometimes apprehensive about asking a question or speaking up. This kind of forces that, you know, it's always good as well, like there's there's check-ins, like I'm checking in regularly on a weekly basis with clients, but again, you know, this this forces you know deeper, meaningful conversations with like the the clients, and I can literally see them like a lot of the stuff we do is more one-to-one. And you know what? I do that because I am like everything that we do inside the blueprint is very personal, it is bespoke, it is one-to-one. You know, I try to edge away from that group setting. That group call that we do on the Tuesday night is just a cherry on top. It's a group call that everybody has the opportunity to come to a different session every week. But obviously, the the mentorship is completely bespoke and one-to-one with the client and myself. And I think when we're here in person, I get the opportunity again to speak to everybody in person. And you know, what they say over WhatsApp or a phone call or on a Zoom isn't quite the same here because you can kind of tell by their response or by their delay, or you tend to people actually open up more in person as well. So while I do meet the guys on a regular basis on a one-to-one anyway, it's still good to get everybody here while the energy's high, everything's good, and have a good proper conversation with people to see where they're at and see what they're going through. Well, what's happening? All good? Um take a seat wherever you want there. Alright, what? Yeah, you're staying, you're staying standing. I did. Alright. Move to the front, maybe because well, whatever is easier for you. Well, I meant all good. Great to see you. I like to start on time now, but it's just certain everyone comes in later. It's good to get everybody in the room outside of a Zoom call because it's good to see everybody in person. It's good that everybody in the room people are chatting away already, and that kind of opportunity is not available online, you know what I mean? So it's always great. We always try and push this at least once a quarter, and ideally I'm gonna try and do it on a more regular basis. Uh and as you can see even from the last time, the room is growing and growing. I think we had about four or five people pulling on as last minute there as well. But it's great to see everybody in the room together. So for some of you, it's actually well, for a few of us, so a few of us haven't even met face-to-face in person yet, but I have only spoken to you online. So it's great, it's great to have everybody in here face to face. Um, and the fact that people in this room are even now working together, you know, working off each other, helping each other out with jobs and everything else, just brings the whole sense of what I was trying to do here from the beginning, which is the whole community aspect of the blueprint, and how it's just different from just another online sort of protocol or programme or whatever you want to call it. So we have just came out of the Balmoral Hotel after the CBB boardroom, construction business blueprint boardroom live event, cracking event, really great, great turnout. With guys fly in from England, we had guys coming from the south, uh all over Ireland and the UK. So um great to see everybody there. As I said, love I love meeting up face to face, love getting to meet everybody, getting to speak to everybody. But what a great event! So, Q1 recap, Q2 planning session. Then we looked at the five metrics that every founder should know about their construction business. So we went deep into that, and everybody left then with a Q2 plan and understanding what those metrics are. We also went through the new launch of the construction business blueprint app, which again is the first of its kind in the industry for each and every one of my clients, has their own bespoke portal, and it's just gonna be next level. So, reintroducing that to all the new clients to again better the service for those guys, streamline, systemize everything. So taking a leaf out of my own book, you know, I practice what I preach, doing the same in my own business to improve my coaching and my mentorship. But yeah, great events, some class conversations. What's fantastic about those events is that even when people are a bit shy or uncomfortable, you see them a few minutes later and they're chatting away, the other guys in the industry, even like no matter where they are in business, even over in the UK or or down the south of Ireland or or in the north here, everybody just chatting away, sharing their problems, sharing their ideas, building relationships, which is which is fantastic because that's what it's all about again. Like I'm really passionate about the community aspect of what we're doing here, and not just another contact on a phone, but physically coming in, shaking hands, meeting people, having conversations that really makes a difference and really sets it apart from anything else. So great to have everybody, of course, the food as well. Went down a treat, all the hungry lads in the room, too, which is always great. We always go the extra mile putting on the food, so it's not just speaking at people. Uh, and then we also had Kevin Harkin, who is a member of my power team. Uh, we have a par team inside the blueprint, which is all about specialists outside of my specific expertise to help the clients in any aspect that they have. So any of our clients, no matter what they're going through, all have an answer within arm's reach at any point in time, even if it is something really specific around law, accountancy, um, you know, construction, adjudication, marketing, uh, AI, all those things. And we had Kev there today from my marketing and AI automations team, a power team member that I use myself in my business, talking about all things AI in construction, which again is a topic that nobody is really talking about. But we're not just talking about it, we're implementing it, we're showing our clients how it's possible and transferable in their business. And we talked about if even if you've just got a concept in your business that even a human is doing now or somebody is doing, there's always a way to take that concept and make it a reality in terms of automation, and so like we're we are light years ahead of anybody. Like the guys in that room now, even after today's session, which was only from 10am to 1 pm, and even in that, a lot of that was just chatting and having food. But that everyone there had a Q1 review so they know what went well in quarter one, what didn't go well in quarter one, what they need to improve on, what they need to double down on, and also then a a a set in stone concrete plan and a headline focus for quarter two, which is huge. And then we're talking about AI and construction. So those guys, those 20 guys or whatever it was in that room today, which is which is only um which is only the guys that could make it today, have are blown any of their competition or anybody else out of the water in terms of what the time they actually spent today and what they've done inside their business. So, again, massive, massive room to be in if you're in the industry, and everybody left there today, all in high spirits, not just motivated, but knowing exactly what the next steps to take are in their business. So they all have clarity, they all have confidence in their approach, and they know exactly what to do. So it's not just a motivational seminar of helping each other up, and this is what's possible. We show you how to actually fucking do the work, get it done, and make the impact and make the difference in your specific business because again, that room is full of maybe 20 people, all in different aspects, all in different stages, all in different parts of the business. We had new clients who have just started, guys who've been with me since 2021, and everybody left with something specific to their specific business today, which is again which is usually unheard of in these sort of um in these sort of events. There's nobody in this industry holding these sorts of events, having these types of conversations. There's people who maybe try to imitate the name, which I've seen. There's people who may think that that's what they're doing, but again, we are bespoke mentorship, we are one-to-one, we are going into the details that nobody else is talking about and having those tough conversations that nobody else is having, and again, making it making it relatable to your specific business. So again, I even had a conversation with one of my clients, Graeme. Graeme's a great guy, and he came to me not knowing anything that was wrong in his business. He came to me pretty much on his knees, and in six months he's gone from that stage to now, you know, had the conversation at the end of the end of the day of where he is in business now, and it's just it's just absolutely night and day. So, what I would encourage anybody to do, if you are in the trading construction industry, if you own a business in this industry, this is the room that you will want to be in. So sometimes I do let away a handful of people to come along as guests. If that opportunity comes, um I definitely encourage anybody uh in this industry who has a business in this industry to attend one of these events to see what is possible, to see what people are actually achieving in such a short space of time, um, and the kind of conversations we're having and how they can actually impact your business.
