🪴 Armor off. Guard down. Let’s just talk.

This week, the girls take a break from the deep dives and lean into an armor off, rapid-fire girl chat answering a mix of questions with honesty, humor, and zero overthinking. It’s unfiltered, a little messy, and exactly the kind of conversation you’d have sitting on the couch with your closest friends.

From faith to life to the in-between moments, this episode is a reminder that you don’t always have to have it all together. Sometimes it’s okay to loosen the armor, laugh a little, and just be real.

No scripts. No pressure. Just us. 💛

SPEAKER_03

Hello, fellow armor bears. Ooh, I like that. That literally just came to the came to the brain right there. We've been doing studies and talking about how we are image bearers and all that. And I was like, oh, that's kind of cool. Like we're carrying the armor of God. Welcome back to the armored garden. We are once again armored off, technically. We're in the armory, building each other up, and much like when we start girl chatting, we just start chatting. So this is another episode where we're just inviting you in to kind of hang out and sit along, grab your Bible. We'll probably be hopping around in and out scripture, back and forth, but it's a very easy viewing. We're just kind of hanging out and talking and we're wanting to invite you in. So welcome back. I'm gonna ask Tony if she'd pray for us just in the chat.

SPEAKER_00

Sure.

SPEAKER_01

Dear Lord, we just pray over our time together today, God. We just pray, Lord, that we can just spur each other on and lift each other up, God, and walk hand in hand with our armor on, Lord, through um this day that we're having, God, that it could just be a moment filled with your word, filled with your spirit, Lord, and that um you could teach us something new. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

SPEAKER_03

Amen. So we personally enjoyed the little round robin fun game. It was very teacher-esque. So we're gonna do it once more. Armor off, so armor off episodes won't have a theme or a go-to thing, but we just thought this one was kind of fun. So we're gonna we had some more random questions and we're gonna do some more of those. Part two. Part du. Yeah. It's French. I know French. Oh, I said part two. I know. I don't know what you said. Part du that's French. One, two, three. That's how you say it in French. Dos for Spanish speakers. Oh, my little volume didn't go up.

SPEAKER_01

You were very fancy, didn't you? I didn't knew French.

SPEAKER_03

I only know one, two, three. And au revoir. Number three. I don't know why she's not making noise. Okay. This is a creative, funny idea. So the question is if my prayer life were a text thread. So, like what emojis or typos or things were in like your little prayer log, I think this is funny because I feel like our girl chat like could be that.

SPEAKER_01

Can we just pull up what emojis we're using? I feel like I'm the one, like the face melting into the ground at the moment. Like the it's smiling, but it's like melting away. But for good and bad reasons sometimes. Yes, that's just like if you're asking me right now, currently, that that's me, like the side smile.

SPEAKER_03

Like I do a lot of emojis. I do not like like even like um, I think sometimes you'll go through a season where it's a lot of read receipts by the Lord, and he's like, I hear that. But just wait. I read it, read it. I hear you. I'm receiving the I'm receiving the text, but I don't necessarily have an answer for you right now. I think those are the most uncomfortable ones, but I feel like right now I'm very emoji-filled. Texts I don't know how to express what's going on, yeah, but a picture kind of does it for me. A lot of times it's the guy with the little eyeballs like this. That's me a lot.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, oh my gosh. Mine would probably be the lady with the hand over the face, too. Oh my gosh. Yeah, because you know, it could be like, I always think of like, oh my goodness, like, why'd I have to learn that again? Or like, Lord help me. Like, I don't know. Like, I'm desperate. I don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Even like um, I am guilty, but I feel like one of our friends is more guilty of sending very long texts. Y'all know exactly who I'm talking about, too. But I love them because I'll go back and I'll reread them. Yeah, and it's like she's a great example. Talking to you, Rochelle. She's a great example of like that's what faithfulness is, though.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like, like, and I she recently showed us, she keeps a little note of all this, the season she's in, and she had to go like, sorry, my little jingle jingle. She had to go like that, and I'm like, in her phone, like notes in her phone. I'm like, what is all that? She's like, everything to remember. I'm like, so I started one the other day. I started my own text chain with the Lord. I'm like, oh, let me write all this stuff down. I loved it though. But that's what text threads to me are like. I go back and read text. Do you do that or no?

SPEAKER_02

I just did that with her the other day. I go back and read it, but I was like, oh, let me read this. Like it was good.

SPEAKER_03

Although we should share, we're in the audio note season of our friendship.

SPEAKER_01

This is true.

SPEAKER_03

We just send each other these.

SPEAKER_01

I sent her a six-minute one long the other day, and I sent you an eight-minute one the other day.

SPEAKER_03

But I love it because you can feel like and then you don't like when you're texting.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not good at texting. No. I don't get I like my brain works way too fast for me to express. That's why it's just a okay. See, but that's that sounds good.

SPEAKER_03

That's our that I feel like that's our text thread season. We just want to be so raw and real with the Lord, and we're raw and real with each other. Yeah. That's our text thread. Raw and real. Oh. There you go. I don't know why she won't make there. She goes. I won't look. Y'all tell me. Don't look at my jacked-up phone. What's wrong with your phone?

SPEAKER_02

It's like 10.

SPEAKER_03

10. Oh, I like this one. The best advice we've ever received that actually worked. Oh. I think sometimes people say things and it's very seasonally appropriate to them, and you try it and you're like, what the heck? That did not. But I think we recently sat down with Aunt Cindy. If you haven't watched that, go watch our masterclass with Aunt Cindy. Um, or it might come out after this, but when she just reminded us, and she says it all the time, but the just be present in right now with your relationship with the Lord. Rochelle's also really good advice giver. I'm just shouting out Rochelle so much. Yeah, like she just says things so I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Probably the best advice would be the to a place from a place.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Like, are you trying to and it works? Oh, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. And like, are you trying to go to a place or are you trying to come from a place with your relationship from the Lord?

SPEAKER_01

You trying to get something, are you trying to receive? I just heard something the other day that said, Are you seeking his hand or are you seeking his face? Yeah. I was like, stop me in my tracks. I was like, oh.

SPEAKER_02

What was that other thing that you sent the other day? What do you sent something?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, hold on, I'm already. Comparison. Was it like this? Hold on, let me open it up. Because I can't remember. I almost said it. God has you pants. Don't be jealous of or don't compare yourself to someone else's season. Oh no, it's in our group. It's in the group. Hold on. In the devotic one. I heard someone say comparison is dangerous because you could be comparing where God has you to where the enemy has them. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And when you think of like advice or anyone giving advice, right? You um, the truth is, even if it's like biblically based, it comes out in every other spot in your life. Like you're always like, oh, that helps my relationship with the Lord. Yeah, that helps your life. Instead of invest well, pick a good 401k. Like that's not, you know, that's advice, and that's true. But when you get advice when it's has a biblical or kingdom-minded like root to it, it's gonna everywhere. It's gonna spread everywhere. Like that. Like comparison is something, especially women, men, even men, we all struggle with. And when that seems like worldly advice, but it's really not. It's saying, no, don't compare. You just don't know. Yeah. I like that. I like advice. Spin the wheel, Vanna. Vanna didn't spin the wheel, the contestants spin the wheel. I watch Wheel of Fortune every night.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm like, who's Vanna? Vanna White.

SPEAKER_03

I don't watch Wheel of Fortune. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02

I think it's eight. Eight. Yeah. Eight.

SPEAKER_01

Eight.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Her reactions are the best part. I don't ever know what is coming.

SPEAKER_02

I can kind of get a little scared. Should I race?

SPEAKER_03

The I didn't sign up for this moment. Have you had one of those before? Like in mommyhood, marriage, ministry. Was there just like a curveball that came your way and then God's like, I got you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Like teaching that K2 class.

SPEAKER_03

Madison is our children's ministry leader at church, and she's much more older kid minded. Yeah. But she gets what I call the booger room, you know, because I don't know how you're. Tony and I are like, we love young. Yeah, I'll take it. Them older ones, I'll take it. I love you much, but they smell. What do y'all want to take over?

SPEAKER_01

I just don't know if we're like, I don't know, older is just not it for me.

SPEAKER_02

I cannot do the sass. I love see, I love the sass. I love the older kids.

SPEAKER_03

Literally, but even in that room, though, you feel like which one? It like in the younger room. Like that's a moment where you're like, um, I really did not, but it's cool. Like you're like, No, it is very cool.

SPEAKER_02

It is very cool. And I know it's preparing me to homeschool my own two children, but I was gonna say, because you have younger children too. I'm like, it's a lot of them in there at once. And they're all started. They all go. I gotta beat. Yeah, I gotta beat. I gotta, I gotta, I want to water. Okay, can I help you? Can I do that? And I'm like, over simulation. Too much. And then most of the time I do have May May too, because she won't let me leave her. So it's a lot. Thankful for the other adult in the room. And I am very much independent work-minded. Like, I'm gonna teach you, you're gonna get it, and then you're gonna do your work. And I can't do that in there.

SPEAKER_03

So I'm like scaffolding is the teacher word we use.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, I know nothing about that. Nothing, lower level. Nothing. I'm like, catch a bubble. One, two, three. Figure it out. Y'all need to be quiet. Yeah. I've heard this somewhere down the road. Yeah. I was like, my classroom management was not down here. Yeah. I don't know how y'all manage that. Especially every day, Tony. No, I enjoy it. Because I I get up to like 20-something kids in there. There's crazy. There's like 18 to 20 kids in there on a good Sunday. And I'm just like, there's so many of them. And there's only one of me.

SPEAKER_03

I think one of mine is um when our pastor asked us, and not that I was like whatever, but we were he was preaching and talking about the Holy Spirit and what that is. And I think when you just put yourself on a level of like, Lord, okay, whatever you say goes, like one of them was being bathed in the Holy Spirit, and I was like, this is so exciting. And then like my first moment happened where I could tell something was different. I was like, oh no, I don't know what to do here. I'm like, okay, Lord, like, and not that I didn't sign up for it, because I definitely did. I think I signed up not knowing what camp was gonna be like. And I showed up to overnight camp and I didn't know it was overnight camp. And I'm like, oh my gosh. Exciting but scary, but unknown. And yeah, um, I'm not so good with that either. Like the unknown of not I I like to see an example.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I like I like that. Like Joe makes fun of me because we'll order furniture and stuff. And I'm like, I'm not following those directions. And he was like, You have to follow the direct. I'm like, nah, I know what the table looks like. Let's go. He's like, no, that's not how that works. Yeah. That was mine. He got one.

SPEAKER_01

Not really. Not off the top of my head. Oh, if I if it comes, I'll we'll insert it in another. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Next roll. Remove.

SPEAKER_01

Nine. Nine. Or is it a six?

SPEAKER_02

No, it's a nine. I'm like, my eyes were like going crazy.

SPEAKER_03

Ooh, if our podcast were a meal, what kind of like what dish would it be?

SPEAKER_01

It would be cranberry go cheese. With a side of chicken nuggets.

SPEAKER_03

That's me.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Yep. For sure. With a diet coke in the middle, maybe.

SPEAKER_03

For sure.

SPEAKER_01

For you, I would be a daughter pepper. I would be definitely a regular Coke.

SPEAKER_03

Regular Coke.

SPEAKER_01

So with a dirty soda on the side.

SPEAKER_03

I was gonna say, we I would say we are buffet.

SPEAKER_02

We are.

SPEAKER_03

We are not sit-down dinner with candlelight. Mm-mm. But we're also not drive-thru.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_03

Like that goes back to Tony's analogy of like the whole point is we want you to see the inside of our Bible study so you go to your own. Like we're not drive-thru food, but we're a smorgie board, is what I would call it.

SPEAKER_01

A charcuterie board. A potluck. We're a potluck. Yeah. A good home cooked meal.

SPEAKER_03

You know, like when you go, our older church used to have Fifth Sunday dinner. I loved it because the church, that's it. Okay, so the church provided the meat. Oh, God brings the meat, like the good stuff. And then we're bringing side dishes. We're the side bearers. There we go. I bring a pasta salad, ranch, bacon, normal stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Tony and I bring appetizers.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Yeah. They bring like things with vegetables in it. No. No. Well, you did bring a yummy grape thing the other day. Oh, that's a fruit?

SPEAKER_00

Or did you just thinking that it's a fruit? I thought it was beautiful. It wasn't even pretty. No.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_03

I don't even know what's in it.

SPEAKER_01

Grapes. Cream cheese. Do you like cream cheese? Yeah. Do you like brown sugar? Yeah. That's the best part. Is the brown sugar like crusts on the top? And then the grapes. With some pecan and some grapes. How does it get crusty? You put in the oven.

SPEAKER_00

No, you just let it sit in the fridge. Interesting. So good. Now I'm gonna have to try it. Now you are.

SPEAKER_01

But I do like that. The Lord brings me. Do you like sour cream? Yeah. Okay, because I wasn't gonna tell you that the cream cheese is mixed with sour cream and sugar. If sour cream freaked you out, but it is a mix.

SPEAKER_03

My four-year-old palate can hit it. I caught what you were doing. Madison's like, you're leaving an ingredient off.

SPEAKER_02

A new one. I don't want to scare her off. I know. It's so good. You don't taste the sour cream.

SPEAKER_03

Y'all, but y'all definitely would be the uh blueberry goat cheese. And I'm over there still feeding you little chicken nuggets. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But mac and cheese. That's wholes.

SPEAKER_03

Yo, mac and cheese is good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, potluck for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I like that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I can handle that. That's good. Or definitely not no candlelight meal. Kinda.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, now it's six.

SPEAKER_03

Now it's six. That's funny. All low numbers. Okay, we're gonna do a little this or that. This is gonna become a way bigger episode, but this is a fun. We're gonna do this or that, like maybe six, seven, or eight of them. That's a lot of numbers. Six, seven or eight. Or twelve. I know most of these answers, so I'm gonna pick ones that I know they wouldn't immediately go to. Like coffee or like tea, coffee, tea. I know those answers. So we're gonna do another one. Oh, I like this one. Worship music or instrumental hymns. Worship music music. Instrumental hymns. Buffet. Because I'm talking too much. She just needs some background noise. Yeah. Um, how about small group Sunday sermon only? Wait, wait, wait. Like small group? Small group versus Sunday. Like Sunday sermon. Small group. Yeah. I say small group too. Sermons are so good, but that doesn't like that's not meat and taters. That's like could be drive-by food. Drive-thru food. Drive by. Drive by is not the way to say that.

SPEAKER_01

This is not a drive by.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_01

Um I go to church. I drive by the church. Sweet breakfast. Savory breakfast. Ooh, savory. Do not give me anything sweet for breakfast. Sorry.

SPEAKER_02

I'm a toss up on that one. It depends on the mood, but probably savory. Uh uh. Sweet. I love me some biscuits.

SPEAKER_01

Some cinnamon toast crunch. Oh no, no. Biscuit cerebral. Never will I ever eat cereal for breakfast.

SPEAKER_02

I can eat cereal for every meal of my life.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I can eat cereal after dinner. Like a like a before bed. Oh my goodness. Only time I crape cereal. And I love cinnamon toast crunch. No. But I cannot eat cereal for breakfast. No. Tony, I learned something new about cake. Biscuits and gravy and sausage patties all day long for breakfast. Oh, any of it. Yeah. Cheese grits, eggs, bagel. But if I'm a bag, I'm a savory bagel person. I know me too.

SPEAKER_03

Can't do the French doodle with the apples that's like a good thing of French toast?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I do like French toast for breakfast. Yeah. But it has to have like lots of things that sides with it. And like a bunch of butter on top. Yeah. To like savory it.

SPEAKER_03

Y'all belong in Europe.

SPEAKER_01

Meat like in my meat for breakfast. I'm sure I would love to eat in Europe.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, actually. You can go. The first time I walked down, I went to Germany. I was in high school, and I walked down there and saw fish out for breakfast.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, where are we? Where's my oh, like a good um eggs benedict with lobster? Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, who are these I'm sure that'd be good if I'm allergic.

SPEAKER_02

I know. I heard that the other night. I'm so sorry for you.

SPEAKER_01

But I do love some eggs, Benny. Yeah. Some jam. Oh, them runny eggs. Oh, yes. Runny eggs all day. Oh my gosh. Okay, Joe. Do not I don't want a scrambled egg. Unless I have avocado, I like to do that little enough of food talk. I'll talk about it. You know, someone has told me that I am doing godly work here on this podcast, but that I could have like a side podcast as a food critic. You totally could. You want to know who you want to know who told me that? No for sure. No. Oh. Katie. Oh because you'll try to do that. I would like to know. I would like to let you know you're doing very godly work, but she loves my food recommendations because I make weird things. And you would try just eating. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I would not.

SPEAKER_01

100%.

SPEAKER_03

Not. You do that work for me. So you should move on to the body.

SPEAKER_01

I could keep talking about breakfast all day.

SPEAKER_03

It's my favorite time of the day. How about a topical Bible study, like on a topic or verse by verse? Oh. I kind of like the topical. Like where you're that would mean you're like all over the place. Like you just follow the channel.

SPEAKER_01

I think I like a topic Bible verse, but I'm very ready for a verse-by-verse Bible study. I just said something, I just said something wrong. I said Bible verse, Bible study. Yeah. I like a topic Bible study, but I'm ready for a verse by verse Bible study. I don't know why she's not talking anymore.

SPEAKER_00

Ooh, big number. 18.

SPEAKER_03

18. 18. Oh. This is like our bag. The song that made me cry in the car this week. We cry a lot when we listen to worship.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. I think Holy Spirit, you are welcome here.

SPEAKER_03

Holy Spirit, you are welcome here. Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere. I go back to my mower song. I listen to it a lot. What song? The mower song. No one ever loved me like Jesus. I haven't listened to that one in a while. I know that one's good. Like it comes up because it's in my Pandora like little circular thing. Yeah. So even when I'm listening at home or Tony had to go to her.

SPEAKER_01

Your mom's song you sung on Mother's Day. Oh, I was like, my mom. Mom went. Your mom is singing.

SPEAKER_02

What song? Well, I don't even know the name of it. It's called Mama's by Annie Wilson. Never heard that. Yeah, so good. I've done it for I don't know, however many Mother's Days that I've been going to. Well, not that many. Probably the last three or four Mother's Days. Well, maybe I just but I've always been in Venus. Oh my space.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. And another in the fire got me too on Sunday.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I was trying to look at my YouTube. My YouTube is so funny. I just had to look too.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no, okay. I we just listened to this at Psalm 63 by Jeremy Riddle. Beautiful. Oh my goodness. Because it's just like raw worship. It's not production. It's not stage. It's not nothing. And that whole little he has a bunch of those that um Jesus Have It All was another one that's on that same thing. But that song is like, it's just scripture being sung to a melody.

SPEAKER_02

And it's like, oh, so good.

SPEAKER_03

And just the way he sings. Like you can just hear that to me makes a huge difference when the person singing just you can tell they love the Lord so much. But worship makes us cry a lot. I love worship.

SPEAKER_02

I forget like that mama song always because I I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

There's some I wasn't ready for that.

SPEAKER_02

It was good.

SPEAKER_01

I had like my lip was quivering. Like not even just some tears. Like I know trying not to ball.

SPEAKER_02

It was Mama's Day, so we're like holding our babies. We're like, oh. But I've sang that song in so many different seasons, too. Like the one time after sis that I sang that song. Because that was that and new wine were my like get me through songs during postpartum. Like late, late nights. So I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

It's a it's a being a mama is a beautiful, but yet I don't say crushing in a bad way, but it's like a crushing season of well.

SPEAKER_02

I think too, like people just don't explain to you like what everything go through like at all. Like the society, people, your mamas, like nobody explains to you like what you're gonna go through.

SPEAKER_03

I think it's a lot like our relationship with the Lord though, like it's something that you have to experience and you have to be willing to kind of go on the journey of because I mean, there are plenty of examples of moms who Who just don't. They just kind of and they still live with their children, but they're just not going through the season of it. They're just I'm gonna do what I want to do. But I'm not saying like they must they're probably going through things, but and worship always has a way of doing that to me. I don't know why, just worship puts you in that bubble of like when whatever's in that. I'm like, oh my gosh, yes, I know. Yes, yeah, but yes. So thanks for coming into the armory, hanging out with us. Yeah, this is literally our girl chat conversation. I know I've said that before, but I don't want y'all to think this is this is actually no production. This is just us saying, Lindsay, we're gonna talk to each other and you're gonna press the camera and hit the record button. We're just gonna hang out. So there is no cuts, edits, very little. This is just raw and reel, like our meal.

SPEAKER_01

No, that wasn't the meal. That was the name of the group, China. Raw and reel. Although it wasn't sushi. We were not sushi.

SPEAKER_03

I would not be a sushi.

SPEAKER_01

I went to sushi. We'll be using fried rice or something.

SPEAKER_03

I just get hibachi with cooked stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Our text thread.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, our text thread is true. Although sometimes our meal might look a little what is that?

SPEAKER_01

Put the chicken back on the girl a little longer, please. Please know.

SPEAKER_03

You want to feed me what? That's what I always say. I'm like, what do you want me to eat? So thanks for Colin so much. Thanks for coming into the Armored Garden and growing along with us. We want to make sure you like and subscribe this video. If it was a blessing to you in any way, please think about sharing it with someone. We would appreciate it. And follow us on our social media platforms. We have TikTok and Instagram. And we would just really encourage you to send us a prayer request, a praise if you have one, any kind of communication you need. If you need a battle buddy, turtle friend, we are there. And we want to thank you so much for coming back in and spending a time with us. Um, Madison, do you want to read numbers and go ahead and pray us out too? Yes. Give you both jobs.

SPEAKER_01

Send us a burning question you have for an REST.

SPEAKER_03

So we can put this in. We these are questions that we've come up with. We would love to know what you want to know. Yeah. Yeah. Questions.

SPEAKER_02

So um, number six, twenty four through twenty six. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. So dear Lord, I just thank you for today, Lord. I thank you that your blessings are pouring out not only onto us, Lord, but onto every person that's listening to the sound of our voices right now, Lord, that you are just lifting them up and you are showing them your face, Lord, right where they're at, Lord, that you are just El Roy, Lord, and you see them exactly where their two feet are, Lord Jesus, and you just are meeting them in that place, Lord, whether it be for the first time or for the 57th time, Lord, that it just does not matter, but that your presence is just enveloping them right now, Jesus. And I thank you, and I praise you for everything that you're doing and the outpouring not only upon us, but upon them, Lord Jesus. I thank you for your presence. I thank you for your face, and I thank you for everything else just this day brings to us today, Lord Jesus. And I praise you and thank you in your mighty, holy, and matchless name. Amen. Amen.

SPEAKER_03

See you next time. See ya.

SPEAKER_02

Hello. Okay, hey y'all.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, y'all, howdy.
