Craig Carlson just messages me he's got a bed leg. Or he's got a egg lake.

SPEAKER_03

Welcome, Brace Band. Watermelons and wood chips presented by Essential Iowa Diesel Performance. We're not well. It's a good one. We're 41 episodes in, and you are you guys that watch this and listen to it, you already know we're not well. But um man, we got uh Josh Reynolds to my left. We both got some new t-shirts on. Um Jonathan Logue or Resident Ginger down at the at the far end, and then uh T Fitz. I'm not sure what to call him if it's Tevor, Trevor, Fitz, Trevor, if it's given.

SPEAKER_12

It's more like early in the morning, rise up to my feet. Talk about the Dave Mara BMX theme song.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Well, I got it queued up up here. We're gonna get into that. Got me a cigarette and I strap shoes on my feet. 311. You had a good job. Got to find a reason.

SPEAKER_03

Sublime.

SPEAKER_07

Sublime things went rattles. Sublime.

SPEAKER_03

Anyway, we are firing on all cylinders here on episode 41 at right out of the gate. Right out of the gate. But uh Josh, Jonathan, Trevor, and uh man, boys, we had a couple nights racing.

SPEAKER_07

Somebody got some hardware.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

In some really funky ways.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I was thought I was gonna start with Tuesday, but oh, you're going back to okay.

SPEAKER_07

Well, we might as well go back to recap the Harris Clash.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, because there's some shit I want to bitch about about that. Let's we are we are firing up.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't say it was a bad bitch. I said bitch. It's a good bitch. Understood. Yeah. Um but yeah, so I mean, we had Harris Clash on Tuesday, Bobcat goes up Thursday, Friday, come back Saturday, different story. We'll get into that in a little bit. But uh man, uh this week has it has to be just because the clash, but it seems like this week kind of flew by.

SPEAKER_07

Midweek race, it always does that to me. I got past it and it was like, I don't know what day it is, and you know, go back to work for a couple days.

SPEAKER_12

You guys must not work real hard because it drug on for me. Did it? Yeah, you guys must just be floating away.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I did stop by the shop the other day. Yeah, we had some awards that were made for the Boone Baseball Club 9U team, and uh I had to interrupt uh Matt on his lunch break while he was trying to eat a sandwich. And well, I come rolling in and there's nobody there, and called I called Jonathan. He's like, hang on, bud, I gotta make a peanut butter and jelly. I'll be there in a minute.

SPEAKER_12

But grandma got me a thing of uh raspberry, homemade raspberry jam. Seedless? Oh no, it's got seeds. Yeah, no, it's old school, it's OG shit. I mean, she's been making this since like 1953.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_12

Okay. So when she does that, I mean, I'm we're pretty much on a peanut butter and jelly until the jar's gone.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_12

So I had I get home, Cook calls, I'm like, oh man, I just left for lunch, you know. And uh so I grabbed me old peanut butter and jelly and the old how you doing, and headed back up to the shop. Crunchy or smooth? I'm a smooth guy. Okay, that's otherwise, otherwise, well, something I mean, crunchy.

SPEAKER_07

You gotta have something. I that's we never have it in my house because nobody in my house will eat it. But when I have my preference, it's crunchy. You guys must trust your dogs a lot. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, well, you gotta be careful because if you get too much on there, they start to nibble because it's your dog. Yeah, that's right. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_03

You can do it because it's your dog. That's right. Oh, no, we get it.

SPEAKER_12

But but the Harris Clash, I mean, uh I was a little disappointed with car count. Um, I thought there was gonna be more stock cars. We lost uh what'd we lose? 20? 19. We lost 19 stock cars.

SPEAKER_07

What do you think that's for just think that's the date? I don't we were talking about it ourselves. Like, I don't know.

SPEAKER_12

You know, I think that um date, uh, maybe just I think what's going on is there's so many big shows that are, you know, people are prepared for that. Like here next week or in two weeks. Well, first of all, Friday we leave to go to the North Dakota tour. That pays pretty well all week long. You get back from the North Dakota tour, and we've got Boone County uh out there in Nebraska. They're racing for 10 grand. And they're racing at Beatrice, I believe, for 16,000 for modes. Jeez. And and then and then you got Harlan racing for five grand on Wednesday, Thursday for the mods and the stock cars, plus Lucas Oil will be there at the same time. So I don't know if it was necessarily a scheduling issue. Like, I personally, first of all, let's just elaborate on this. It was probably the nicest Harris Clash for weather.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, it was beautiful. That was gorgeous. So nice beautiful.

SPEAKER_12

I used to like we always look forward to going to the Harris Clash, but at the same time, I always hated it because I needed a bottle of powder and a new pair of shorts by the time I got back. As if it was tomorrow. That's what I'm saying. Oh yeah. Well, nowadays they'd probably would have called and been like, well, you know, it's too hot out for you guys. So and it's people that are sit in the booth and that are air conditioning, this isn't at you two, that make those calls. And it's like, really? Like, we can all bring water.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Uh I didn't see Bill Davis or Wayne Larson or Mark Noble or Tommy Meyer, or you guys want me to keep going?

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_12

Okay. Uh, them bitching about how hot it was back in the 90s when we didn't have and and I tell you what, the the fans still showed up back in those days, too. The concession stands did a little bit better because they were selling more waters and body blah. Speaking of the concession stand, hold on for a minute. I've got a new idea. We're gonna talk about it later.

SPEAKER_05

Don't let me forget.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, I do need a pen. Get it over here, Josh.

SPEAKER_07

We definitely uh, you know, back in the day, those Knoxville, like we talked about with the Knoxville ones that are hottest. Those were the hottest just sat in those bleachers, and I mean terrible roast and big. Yeah, you didn't miss it.

SPEAKER_12

Like it was when the sun went down, it was like, oh yeah, spread the leg out. Boys, let's get the AC on here for about 1015 before the future started.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, it was a big competition to get the shade up the top to get there, but well, and we've historically never um lost much for crowd or cars in the heat.

SPEAKER_03

Cold, yes. Cold's different, cold sucks. Cold will run off race cars, cold will run off.

SPEAKER_07

It didn't it didn't used to, right? Back in the day, nothing did. Like, I mean serious, like 99, 2000 Frostbusters, it didn't matter. Well, you know why everybody was there? Well, there wasn't because they didn't have these exactly right here. That's exactly right.

SPEAKER_03

That's why back in the day, in my opinion. It's the same thing that DJ was talking about. You have constant entertainment on your phone or whatever else, and I don't know. Like, like I said, the the car count for the clash was still good. It was good. It was still good. Oh, yeah, yeah, but compared to last year, how the bar got set so high, I'm sitting there just watching it. I'm like, ah, you know, I was a little bit disappointed, but it wasn't like, but then you put it in perspective, right? Like, it's still good.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, oh yeah, it was good.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, it was absolutely good. And what I noticed in the pit area uh was we lost a lot of our local guys that didn't come. Because I'm thinking, you know, when we were talking about it when Bob was on the show, I'm like, we're getting 50 stock cars weekly, yeah. Right, right. Or 40. Like we've there hasn't been a time since IMCA implicated the 40 car rule uh to run double features to where we've had to run a B-bane.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_12

Like we've always been at that 40. Like here the last two weeks we've been 40, 40, you know. Um so I was like expecting, I'm like thinking, man, I mean, surely we're gonna pour pull more than basically we only got 22 more extra cars. And that's I mean, but I didn't see a lot of people from Wisconsin. We didn't see the Burkhardts, wasn't the big herd? Yeah, we just and like I said, I I honestly truly believe that people have just uh like I've even started doing it like at the beginning of the year. I love it. Racetracks, if you're listening, post your schedule at the beginning of the year so we can get those into our calendar, you know. And some of these special events, we're all um a little slow about probably putting that stuff into our calendars, but there's a ton of racing coming up that's gonna pay big money. It is during the week. It might hurt the car counts on the weekend a little bit, but um, and I could be completely wrong, but that's just my opinion. Um, but yeah, I was really shocked that we only had 62 stock cars on Tuesday.

SPEAKER_07

On that schedule deal, too. Um, if you go online and you get your MRP profile updated, you can go out and pick your events you're gonna go to and you can build your schedule right in it. Oh, really?

SPEAKER_10

I have I actually made a calendar that has every big show, every track, and how long it takes to get there from my house.

SPEAKER_07

That's badass.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, well, when you race for a living, yeah, because then I think Jason was talking about it.

SPEAKER_03

Were you talking to Jason about it or something? I sent it to Jason.

SPEAKER_10

I sent it to a bunch of people. Everything's color-coded, it's got what track races what day, what special events.

SPEAKER_03

So I have the same type of schedule, but it's for my kids' wrestling stuff. So it's not my wife's like, you you'll be organized for this.

SPEAKER_04

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_03

How many matches you guys had, where it's at, color-coded by what event it is. Dude. But you can't even do the goddamn laundry. Right?

SPEAKER_12

Josh just got a boner because he's an engineer and he's like, oh my god, it's all good.

SPEAKER_03

Hits the bottom of the desk.

SPEAKER_09

Any one of those raising tables? Yeah. Check that out.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's pretty sick. Man, look at you go. That's pretty that's pretty wild.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

No, that's uh that's really cool. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Very cool.

SPEAKER_03

All right, let's jump into these results real quick.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So Tuesday night, Harris Clash, stock cars right out of the gate. Uh Trip Gaylord wins with the VB1. Kyle Vanover second from seventh. Caden Reynolds third. Devin Smith fourth in Grey Vogos.

SPEAKER_12

Vanover owes me a favor. He was up there pimping me about the farm sesh the whole time. Oh, second. It's worth at least a free t-shirt, I think. All right. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I also got to say something about him. I I think Tuesday was the first time I've seen him in person.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah. He's he's a big dude.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. And we had the Iowa State football players on Saturday.

SPEAKER_12

Did you see them? But I seen the one dude's ponytail that was like this long.

SPEAKER_10

I was wondering if they were a football player.

SPEAKER_07

His whole waist was above the fence on the catwalk. We were literally just talking about that. Like they were bending over the fence. Like it. Them boys are massive. Katie's eye level at that point. Okay.

SPEAKER_08

I wonder how tall his old lady is. I mean, holy moly.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, yeah. But yeah, he's a big boy. Oh, yeah. Great guy. Comes out, he's like, oh man, what's going on? You know, we're talking about the podcast and stuff and everything. Always great to see the 19 car.

SPEAKER_07

I'm not saying big in a fat way either. Like he's very tall and he's I was just gonna say, Josh, next time he sees you, he might say slap you around. If he comes peeling out of the driver's door and you're on a mission to talk to him, you might change your mind.

SPEAKER_12

It's like John Branton, man. I'm telling you.

SPEAKER_07

Yes. Same deal. I have a great story about Eric Stanton when I started racing. One of my buddies went after. He was gonna go down and chew his ass because he did something to him on the track, and I went down there. I'm like, yeah, I gotta go see this. Eric stepped out of that car and he turned right around and said, We're going right back to the pit. You know what? Never mind. And Eric Eric was just a teddy bear. He was 16 as a time. He still is. He never would have said a thing, but God, that was I'll never forget that.

SPEAKER_12

Those are the best ones. Oh yeah. Yeah. I don't ever back down, so don't ever anybody ever think that I'm backing down. Okay. It was kind of like the banister and uh Dustin Lynch thing. I guarantee you, Dustin was like, uh-oh. Oh I mean, this this dude's forearms besides my thigh. Okay. But uh yeah, what a what a great show. Um I you know, the race, we we kind of sucked.

SPEAKER_07

You had to do a little driving. You were this close to getting in through the heat. Oh, right. On the passing points. That you, of course, your heat, the the guy that made it in passing points, passed the most of the whole night, except for you. Who? Who was it? I don't remember. I'll go look. Then next time. Oh you oh you got it. He's got a picture of it.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, he sent it to the the watermelons group chat.

SPEAKER_07

I did, bro. Because I'm like, you were so close.

SPEAKER_12

I didn't you guys think I can interpret that kind of stuff when I'm at the track?

SPEAKER_07

Well, come on.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, probably not.

SPEAKER_07

But anyway, uh I know Dylan Richards. He ended up with 103 passing points and you had 101. I mean, it was it was he was he was in because he ran second. No, no. Winner was in, then second place was who was highest in passing points.

SPEAKER_12

Dylan, you're lucky I didn't take you out in turn four, then I was about it.

SPEAKER_10

No, I'm kidding. Was it passing points per heat or overall? Per heat. I thought it was overall. No per heat. You know what?

SPEAKER_07

I really love how you guys do that. It's a different format because it's completely different. It is, and I I don't I'm I'm gonna be completely honest. It is. Yeah, I don't love the work that goes along with it because it is it's all hand work for me, but I love the way it is because it is different.

SPEAKER_12

Well, you know what, Josh? We'll get over it. One driver appreciates the fact that you have to do a little bit of extra work. I think I can speak for a lot of others, but that is a very cool thing to do, just because it's not something we do on the ordinary. Yep. A it's for a special event. Um, Bob must have had somebody else come up with that because I he's more like race car stuff, not numbers and stuff, right?

SPEAKER_09

Uh he told us last year he was the one that spelled it all out how he wanted to do it. Really? Chad must have helped you. He was the one that was running BMANs for an extra hundred bucks, too. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Hey. That's right.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you, Bob.

SPEAKER_07

Somebody watches the podcast. He does.

SPEAKER_03

He does. You know what's really funny? Speaking of that, so uh Blake Anderson texted me while I was standing in Victory Lane with Bob, and he was said he was sta he was uh stocking beer at Skagget. He puts his said when he stocks his beer at Skagget, because Blake runs the Skagget uh Speedway out in Wisconsin, or Wisconsin, Washington. Anyway, he said he'll he'll stock the beer at Skagget and listen to the show. And so he texts me, and it it was funny because I was standing next to Bob when he texted me. He's like, oh yeah, he's like Danny Smith used to run with uh high limit in 2015 or whatever, and he's like, he would he knew that if you got 15th, like 13th to 16th paid the same. But if you got 15th, you got a $50 gift card to Outmax Steakhouse. Yep, he said every if there was a late yellow, he'd count and go and finish 15th or $50 to outmax steakhouse.

SPEAKER_12

Speaking of uh little incentives like that, do you guys know who got the free rear ends from Ben Croll? Yes. Hey, somebody turn the Barntown light on, please. What's his name?

SPEAKER_10

Russ got one.

SPEAKER_12

Joel Rust?

SPEAKER_10

Joel Rust got it for the stock cars. What'd he finish? Don't know, but he got free stuff.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, it was what they they drew it out of the bucket.

SPEAKER_03

I want to say 13th. Yep. 13th. So Joel got 13 by three.

SPEAKER_10

Um I ran fifth at Stewart and got a free set of wheels, but I knew it before I went out there.

SPEAKER_02

Come on, it was too quiet. Was it no, it wasn't.

SPEAKER_07

I'm flying back.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I was gonna say it was it Camden Vincent. No, but he could probably use it.

SPEAKER_12

Isaac Mellon.

SPEAKER_03

No, because they did it in sport mod. Was it Cam Ramerson? I was thinking it was uh Brayden Carter. Anyway, we'll move on until Josh finds it. But I was Kyle Free. No, he wasn't in there. Joel Bashore. Joel Joel's been retired. Anyway, speaking of sport mods, let's uh go to those uh results. Bray Speedy Bray uh starts on the pin, gets it done. Um his cousin, Dylan Van Wyck, goes nine to two. Um he was pretty fast in the bottom there. Rhymer's goes third, Caleb Woodard goes fourth, Willie Kirk goes fifth, Cole Sukow sixth, David Schwartz seventh, Mike Smith eighth, Austin Towski ninth, and Will Wolf 10th. Um Joe Reetz. Joe Reitz got 21st place.

SPEAKER_12

Okay, Joe Reeds. He needed it after that left-hand turn he took on Saturday a couple weeks ago.

SPEAKER_03

So uh another good one. I mean, Bray was pretty fast. Cam, he got like four or five car links out on Cam and just kind of stayed there.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, that's the best that we've seen Neil won. No offense, Braden. I'm just saying he always sucks at Boone. Like just oh no, I know he will. That's why I said it. Um he just struggles there for some reason, you know, and it's like I kind of like it because I like giving him shit about it. I mean, because Braden's a great racer. We raced together for many, many, many years. He's such a clean racer, and um, I like his bald spot on top of his head. I like to make fun of him about that. Um, and we're we're reds, so uh we have a lot in common, and and he's one of the best in the business to do it. So it was it was really cool to see him. I think that was his first Harris Clash, correct?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I believe so. You know, so no, I think he didn't he win it somewhere else? Because I thought somebody said he's a two-time now. He won't at Darry Creek, too. Go check the website out. Uh huh. There uh he's won it twice. I think he won it at Deer Creek.

SPEAKER_12

Oh well, either way, he he kind of conquered the start on the front row, uh doing shelf that I can't do. Um starting from the front row. Looks pretty good on Tuesday for the old one.

SPEAKER_07

Um, and also hard chargers that night. Alec Fett got it in the sport mod. And then the same guy got it in the stock cars and the modified. Bray won it in 2019. Jake McBurney. Yep. Bray won it in 2019? Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Which was where dear creek. But yeah, Jake doubled up on that.

SPEAKER_07

That was well, he tripled up on it. Because there was two hard chargers for the stock cars, because we had the rain out, and the guy that the guy that does the um the hard charger for the stock car, he asked us to go ahead and do it for the Harris Clash if they were okay with that.

SPEAKER_02

Sure.

SPEAKER_07

So there were two envelopes for hard chargers for stock cars for Saturday. Or for Tuesday, sorry. Nice.

SPEAKER_03

Nice. Yep. Thank you for the random. Very cool. Very cool. Modified. Uh Joel Rust starts on the front row and another two. Second. Second one for him, Colin Hibden. I thought Colin was gonna get him. Colin was good.

SPEAKER_07

He got two in.

SPEAKER_03

But he just Cody Laney goes third, Chase Weimer fourth, Paul Nagel fifth, good run for him. Josh Mossix, Nick Meyer seventh, Tod Shu eighth, Jacob 29th. And Cowboy Ray goes 10th. But yeah, so all in all, pretty good. Here's Clash, really. I mean, it was uh decent car count. Um we got over at a decent time. I mean, it was still what, midnight probably.

SPEAKER_07

It was like 11:30, 11.40.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, somewhere there. But still hoofed it through there. Um not much, I mean, not much more you can do, right? So uh a lot of races for you know for three classes. Sure. Um let's see. Go to Saturday. We can plow through these really fast. And then Saturday night, the Bumblebee tuna nationals.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, with what 31 of them little guys.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_07

And not a single caution in that class the whole night.

SPEAKER_12

I was just gonna say the only class that did that. Yep. The whole heat speed.

SPEAKER_09

Should probably run a weekly now.

SPEAKER_12

I'm just saying, I don't know why Boom Speedway doesn't have those as on a on a on the weekly card. Um, they they I've tell you what, I don't know if you guys go to other racetracks, but they are the first ones there.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, like they were I got a picture from Troy Shute. He's gonna appreciate this. They were stay pre staging their cars over. By they would drive up. They're all in the backfield, weren't they?

SPEAKER_10

By the highway? Yeah, probably.

SPEAKER_03

So they would drive up, stop by the concession stand, get out, shut their shit off, and walk away. Well, a couple of them are driving Kevin in front of Kevin Opline's trailer. He couldn't turn in. Oh, that's funny. So poor Kevin.

SPEAKER_12

So, yes, I understand what you're saying. I'm just saying, man. I mean, they they they put on a pretty good show. And I like the fact, I mean, I was hoping that we were gonna fit him in the schedule after the modified just to help chew the racetrack up, you know, uh, for the stock cars, just something a little bit different. Um But uh I can tell you one thing, you could tell that the racetrack was different on Saturday for the second set of features because we had a lot more mayhem in all classes, they blew the track off a lot more, they like right through the middle, so there was nothing really to grab. Right. When when Rod and the boys went out there and they started scratching and laying down the water, Nate kind of picked her up at about 4,700 RPM in the old yellow squirter truck. Um, you can always tell, like what, you know, and this is I have said it a hundred times. If you're not watching that, you're an idiot. I thought after hot laps it was gonna be juiced all night. I knew it wasn't fast. Yes, right. So and it transitioned so fast, and that's the thing with Boons Phoebe when it does that, it happens quick. So we've seen it, we've seen a lot of wrecks and a lot of because people aren't used to that. Yeah, they're not paying attention, they're not it's not the tracks fault. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that they did a different farm session on Saturday night than they do on a normal Saturday night. And I think, you know, I I think I've almost got Rod figured out. I've been watching him pretty hard the last three weeks. Good luck, really. What do you think? No, I got what do you think you're seeing? I don't know if I'm gonna say it on air. All right, but I'm gonna tell him about it next time I see him. Found his tell. You found it right here. Right. I've been watching it.

SPEAKER_07

Did he lower it? He must have lowered the sunglasses so you could see.

SPEAKER_12

No, but I got better vision. I'm Bobcat.

SPEAKER_04

All right, all right.

SPEAKER_12

You pounce on a mouse six, eight feet away, bud. Sucker won't even hear me. Won't even know. That's right. And the skinnier you get, the quieter you get. That's right. Uh-huh. Yeah, less friction. So um, if you weren't watching that, your man, your night on Saturday was was really ruined for you because the racetrack, like Fitzy was just saying, it was, you know, looking juiced up in hot laps and stuff. And actually, I got a funny one for you guys. Shane Stormbater climbs in my car on Saturday night. I climb in his car just to see what's going on. So I'm out there flipping everybody off, and everybody's like looking and they're waiting, they're waving at me in my car, but it's really Shane. You know. Jane comes over to me. She her and her daughter were standing in turn four, and I come by there and I had the bird flying, you know, and she's like, she she caught it, and then she's like looking. She came down, she's like, Were you in Shane's car? I'm like, Yep. She goes, I thought he was flipping me up. I'm like, no, it was me. But anyway, she would have been like, no, it wasn't Shane. It was Shane. Yeah. Yeah, no, it was Randy Jones. How'd she run? Uh, she ran really good. Um, he the the only issue that I seen was the throw on his throttle was about the about like a mod light, so it was about that much. The light switch? Yeah, yeah. I about spun out twice, you know, uh just because I wasn't I got a lot more throw in my throttle, you know. And uh so we changed that around for him, and gosh dang, he went out and uh lit the world on fire in the heat race, and then of course we start front row on the end, and he Shane is such a head racer when it comes to like being on the bottom, like he's a top guy. And uh so we got through, he goes, Yeah, you think you could call Josh and see if we can just switch spots? I'd rather be on the top. I'm like, no, bud, because I watched the bodify, you know, the track kind of transitioned. It was kind of top dominant on Saturday night at the end of the night. Um, but uh yeah, I was just I just got a kick out of that from Shane because he's he's pretty quiet. So if you get him to say four or five words a night, you're doing pretty good.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. Is that is he in a range?

SPEAKER_12

Yes, he's in a range. Yep, yep. That's what uh that's what kind of customer service you get at Rach Chassis Loke Fabrication. If your car's not feeling right, you can just come hop in my car and see if we're apples to apples or let me get in your car as long as the seat fits. Shane and I, he's a lot more muscular than I am, but I fit pretty good in the seat.

SPEAKER_07

Stable muscle counts.

SPEAKER_11

It does.

SPEAKER_07

That's right. It does, it really does. Yeah. I see Denny every which by the way, Denny's we gotta get it. We gotta get Denny on it. Yeah, we really think I see the name Stoneburner, I'm thinking Denny, you know, and and nobody's the same as their dad. Yep. We all know that. Yep. But uh it's cool to see him. He's just a little bit better, a little bit better.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah so he's getting it.

SPEAKER_12

He's getting her for sure.

SPEAKER_07

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Well, um, speaking of Bumblebee, tuna nationals, we had Brad Chandler went nine uh 10 to 1.

SPEAKER_07

Knifed it through lap traffic to the lead. Okay, I heard that was pretty crazy. It was pretty wild.

SPEAKER_11

Is that a relation to Marv? Yes, it is scary. That is cool as shit. Well, Merv. I always say Marv. It's like Harv, like Joel Rustad's Harv, and I always call it Marv. Like off of Home Alone, you know.

SPEAKER_12

And Joel finally had the heart to tell me, he goes, uh hey bud, it's Harv, not Marv.

SPEAKER_10

Like on his car, it says Harves.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, but I just, you know, I have a speech impairment. Okay. I'm just saying. So I've been calling him uh 27 minutes, 35 seconds. I've always called him that, and then finally Joel's like, hey, bud, you know it's an H, not an M. All right. Really? Since when? Yeah, now I got it. That should be on a t-shirt. Right. But anyway, that's cool. Picks up uh 600 bones at the Bumblebee Tuna Nationals. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Him and Bielenberg had a hell of a race, and then it turned out it really wouldn't have mattered.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Bielenberg got the cued for having a welded spring.

SPEAKER_07

The way they thought it was, they think it's two springs welded together somehow. But yep, he had a welded spring.

SPEAKER_12

Pushing that gray area. That was the deuce?

SPEAKER_07

That was the 12.

SPEAKER_12

12. 12. 12. Okay, the the 12 and the deuce, they're bodies. Sick. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

That two cars. I mean, come on. It's cool as shit. It really is. Okay.

SPEAKER_12

Just saying. Got the hats back. Oh, it's badass.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. And it looks, I mean, just overall, like the scheme.

SPEAKER_12

There must have been a little bit more controversy in the uh in the sport compacts because when I was in the tech area, uh there was a guy down there with a lower Aframe and they had the date measure on it.

SPEAKER_07

There was a few.

SPEAKER_12

I think and they were pissed.

SPEAKER_07

Maybe three guys. How's your inbox today? Yeah, it's been busy. Uh had a few messages about uh was some screenshots of stuff from like Rock Auto, and this is what I'm running. Well, I don't know what was on your car in tech. I don't do tech.

SPEAKER_12

Okay, right. But in their defense, they probably are buying that from Rock Auto because it is a really cheap place to pick up a lot of your race car parts. No doubt. Correct. Now, here's the thing, okay, guys, this is where this is where I and I think a lot of racers have had uh issues with this um in the past, and why people get revved up when it, you know, when Dave and Kirk and them guys come around, they they are lenient, but they're also very strict about certain rules. They know OEM. Exactly. And so when you are running this, and this isn't a jab at any of the uh tech officials across the state, we all know we all appreciate you guys. We all know that it mainly is volunteer work. Um, and we know that IMCA does an excellent job on defining if there's a new rule, they either bold it or put it into red, or they try to get it out, or not try, they get it out to their tech guys and be like, hey guys, this is a new thing. We're not pushing the issue. Uh, we're gonna give everybody a year to try to you know get in compliance with it, and then we're gonna start pushing it hard, or we're gonna start enforcing it harder.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_12

Um, but uh rules a rule. If you're gonna, in my opinion, if you're gonna have a rule, stick to it. You enforce it no matter what it is. And we've we've all known this, we've all been to these racetracks. The Harris Clash, I feel like, has been one of the biggest nut kickers for body stuff. Uh just like the best of the best are here. Your stuff better be right, or you're gonna get DQ'd, or you're gonna get docked spots, right, or you are gonna get the uh the appropriate uh discipline.

SPEAKER_07

I feel like I we should ask the question, but remember we talked with Bob a little bit about the sport mod deal in Knoxville, the valve train. I feel like that DQ when that happened was almost like the beginning of we're not dealing with those valve springs on the crate motor. Yeah, like like that, I just kind of remember it that way, and maybe I'm wrong, maybe it started elsewhere, but that was a big deal when those guys got DQ'd, you know, at that race. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, it's so we ended up with a trophy out of the deal.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I was gonna say some people benefited from it.

SPEAKER_12

Well, I mean, but I'm just saying, like, and and that's fine, but the rules better apply to everyone. Yeah, they should is really good about that. I'm not saying that they're not. They do an excellent, excellent job. So, Sport Compact guys, when you go to a uh you know, a big event like this, you know, and I don't think they have very many big events, I'm like the Bumblebee Nationals is one of the biggest ones, and then Supernationals.

SPEAKER_09

Well, they had one at Marshalltown the night before, I think, right? They did. Yep. They were at 500 to win, I think. 500 to win.

SPEAKER_12

So like they're starting to get more and more stuff. Yep. Just be a little bit more disciplined on what you know or what you got going on there. And if there's a there's a you know, Dave Brennan will answer his phone. If he doesn't answer his phone, he will call you back. He'll call you right back. Dave is Dave is everybody thinks Dave's a dick, but he's actually one of the nicest guys ever. He looks like a dick because he's dry. If you get him to smile, which I got him to smile at that clash on the coast. He smiles at a clash on the coast.

SPEAKER_10

I tried to get him to do karaoke the first year I went. He does.

SPEAKER_12

He didn't work in his story. He was a racer, and he's been around this. And and Dave's story is so cool, and and he has done such an excellent job taking over for Tom Krobowski. Is that right? Grobowski. Good, good Towski. Is it Gurtowski? I was gonna say Grobowski. Yep, like the big Lebowski, but I feel like Dave has stepped into that that role phenomenally. Yep. So Kirk, you don't be scared to race too. Kirk used to race too. And Kirk does he Kirk is the same thing. He is the class too tough to tame he's the fender card, right? Kirk's a school teacher. And he is? Yes. Yeah. What's he teach? Art? Okay, now I feel really bad.

SPEAKER_07

I think it's art, but I I might be wrong. I might be wrong on that. But he is a school teacher. I did not know that. And he definitely talks to you, you can tell it. Like you can hear it. He he just wants to educate. I mean, that's that's his deal. If you're smarter about it, he doesn't have to work as hard. I mean, that's just the plain truth of it.

SPEAKER_12

If you do your job on the hard, that's why he never gives in on a on something. If something's wrong, it's like, no.

SPEAKER_07

Read.

SPEAKER_12

I envy if he's dealing with these little snot-nosed kids we got nowadays that go to school. I envy you more. Kirk miserable shit. I'd hate to be in school right now. Appreciate that. Yep. What a little fun fact.

SPEAKER_07

They're good tech guys. And uh, you know, Kirk was teching back when I started, and we had a few, not a few go-arounds, but uh he got me one night at Stuart. I had an illegal carburetor on. And no kidding. It was I knew it was illegal when I put it on the car. And I ran third, and the two guys in front of me. Two spots too good. They're they're they're legal, they're fine. But he he dick he dinged me, and I asked him, I said, can you measure that? Well, I don't have the tool to measure it. I said, Okay. Well, just look at it and then go look at theirs because this one isn't as big as theirs, I promise you. I know it's hogged out because it was a real small one that you just hogged out to get it. Josh the whole time is going, all right. I'm just trying, I'm just trying.

SPEAKER_08

Give me my 40 bucks.

SPEAKER_07

Two years later, they came out with the rule of the size rule. So you could get a small game. Yes. And that that's when that and I had nothing to do with the rule change, but I like to think I did. Right. Right.

SPEAKER_10

Right. Everybody were a stepping stone.

SPEAKER_07

Everybody's got that story of this is why they do that rule, you know. My buddy ran a top flow air cleaner. And it they didn't have a rule about it, but the next year they did.

SPEAKER_03

Right. So we better get through these. Yeah. Well, hey, bud, just go through the top five. Yeah. Josh May wins mod lights. Uh 11-1. He's been super fast. He has B Z go second. Lynn Elliott gets third again. Start at 13th.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. He's getting better and better and better.

SPEAKER_03

I talked to better motor. That's what it is. I don't know, man.

SPEAKER_12

That's what he needs. He's doing he was doing a good job. I told Brian on Saturday I grabbed his stitches because he had surgery, and I said, get him power steering. I'm going to pull these stitches out right here. He goes, I'm going in Monday. And then Landon goes out, you know. Uh last week Landon was in the staging area night. He was sitting on the front row, and I just walked up to him and I just said, Don't be a pussy. And he gave me the lane frost nod and went out and ran third.

SPEAKER_07

You know what they're gonna do? They're gonna get him power steering. He's gonna go on turn one, just loop in. He's gonna be doing this.

SPEAKER_03

But if you look at this, so Josh may won, he started 11th. Brian got second, he started ninth. Landon Elliott got third, he started 13th. Austin Gray started fourth, he got or finished fourth, he started twelfth. And Grant Anderson started 10th and got fifth. So movers got a plus ten, a plus seven, plus ten, plus eight, plus five.

SPEAKER_07

Movers and shakers.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, plus ten, plus sixteen behind that. So um but yeah, I was really I was pumped to see Landon actually start back there and pass cars to get to the front instead of like starting on the pin and fighting for his life. Right. So um making strides in the right direction. Uh let's see. Hobby socks. Eric Stanton wins at Boone for the first time in five years.

SPEAKER_07

Um I didn't realize that. Like I've seen him win, I guess. I just thought it was more at Boone.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Braden Gifford has been really fast. He gets second.

SPEAKER_07

National point leader, I heard.

SPEAKER_03

Is he?

SPEAKER_07

Somebody told me that.

SPEAKER_03

Seth Butler goes third, Wyatt Johnson fourth, Aaron Rudolph fifth. Uh in the first one, second one, Andrew Berg. He passed nine cars. Yeah. Jeez, that crusty old bastard was fast, wasn't he?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that car started out the year. Tumble, tumble, tumble.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, that's cool to see Berg um get another win there. Shane Butler goes second. Uh Brayson Siegel goes third. Um, and he was the one that shit canned it off turn one early in the year.

SPEAKER_07

That's the one that pole vaulted, yeah. Yeah, he was like the biggest that was wild. That was insane.

SPEAKER_03

That was the biggest Moffat Mayhem we've had.

SPEAKER_07

We thought he was taking the catwalk out. From my seat, it looked like he was getting ready to. It was nasty.

SPEAKER_03

Uh Kale Cook goes fourth, and Mike Michael Johnson Jr. goes fifth. Is Kale Cook from Marshall Town? Would he be related to like Chad Cook? Because Chad Cook used to race from over in the area. Possibly. It's spelled the same way. She's pretty young.

SPEAKER_07

She's pretty young.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Chad Cook used to be pretty decent. Um let's see. Let's get through this. I'm going the wrong way on my sheet here. Did we go? Oh, yeah. Sport mods, right? Yep. Look at that. The airflow system was dialed. I saw you guys had pictures of that thing in the air, the wind tunnel this week. That was pretty badass. Yeah. Goes 12 to 1. I want to know who's holding the smoke for that deal. Yeah. Bobcat just burning red just at a really high, high rate.

SPEAKER_07

Just got like four or five of them going, and the smoke just flies over the sport mode. All right.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Will Wolf goes second. Mikey Smith goes third after coming back. Like he about did he about loop it? Is that what happened? First lap. Yeah. Turn two. Yep. Yep. Braden Gustin got fourth. It was a good run for him. Yeah, it was good for him. Jason Carney also, good run in fifth. Dayton Swadtek. Not quite the hard charger charger, but he passed 12 cars. Yep. Going from Monster Truck, Mayhem to Hard Charger. Nice job, bud. We're proud of you. That's right. Stock our feature one. Devin Smith wins. David Smith gets second. Josh Daniels third. Michael Jeanette fourth. Hunter Smith fifth. Second feature, Jamison McDonald wins. That was wild. He started 18th.

SPEAKER_07

Was that his first ever win?

SPEAKER_03

I have no idea.

SPEAKER_07

I was going to ask that, but I mean he just we got out of the car and I was like, that kid, he looks very young for one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. No, I mean he wasn't super, I don't think he was super young, but it was just a comment that I got. Wild happenstance. Like you guys want to know what happened? Well, we're going to get to it in just a second.

SPEAKER_07

The kid steps out of the car. Cody's interviewing him, and Colton goes, I don't think I've ever seen a grown man shorter than Cody. As he was interviewing him. Yeah, but I had a really good reply to that. Yes, you did. A very good one. About a foot long.

SPEAKER_03

Jameson Dupp McDonald wins, goes plus 17 to the win from Suamico, Wisconsin. Jim Gussin second. Buck Shaffroch third. Doug Smith fourth. Blake Lehman fifth. Bob Catton seventh. No one wanted to win that race. You rallied back. That's a good way to put that.

SPEAKER_07

No one wanted to win. Seemed like nobody wanted to win it.

SPEAKER_12

Driving everywhere. Yeah. But forward. If we're going to recap my weekend, I'm just going to I'm going to recap all of it at once. No, that's fine. Yep. But so we'll do that after break.

SPEAKER_07

Or do you want me to go with it now? We could do it after the break because I believe it's the mayhem segment. Your whole week was the Moffits mayhem.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah. It could be, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

It really I think it is.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. Okay. That's fair. Is that what we're doing? I think so. I need to smoke anyway.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_03

Before he has to talk about it. And it gives me, yeah, it gives me time to do what I'm doing over here real quick.

SPEAKER_02

There you go.

SPEAKER_03

Anyway, all right. We're going to go to a break. We'll send it off to our friends at Central Island.

unknown

Fuck.

SPEAKER_03

Nope. Because there was a little bit of mayhem there, too. Oh my god. That's part of the that yeah, that's my that's my vote. But anyway. Yep. Todd shoot wins. Our boy Tevor Fitzgibbon gets second. Isaac Malico goes third. Corey Saurman fourth. Jake McBurney fifth. Um are we going to talk about this? Are we going to come to the break?

SPEAKER_07

I think we better take a break. All right. Yeah, we better throw it in the mayhem. Like mayhem junior or something.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, junior mayhem segment. And then our friend can fuck, he was in the cat bird and CP. He was. I was going to say. Yeah, it was. I was in the right spot.

SPEAKER_07

Did you blink or did you just hammer it and hold on, Harry? We're going to break. Hold on.

SPEAKER_12

Harry, we're going to break. We ain't going to send it over to our send it over to our great marketing partner, Central Iowa Diesel Performance. You've been watching watermelons and we've got right back.

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, two for two on laughing going into the intro. But uh we're gonna jump into Moffat's mayhem here right away. Um my vote on this could be different than everybody else's, but my vote is the um well, I mean, we did have some other shit go on where we had some rollovers, and we did stockhart guys rolled over. Who else rolled over? Oh, the mod light guys tried to make a baby, they got hooked together. Garrett Barber and and uh Trace and Glick tried to make it had tried to make a child.

SPEAKER_07

Was it Charlie got loose, came down, bottled him up?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'm not a hundred percent sure.

SPEAKER_07

But on the way. Um but your vote is modified.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Specifically.

SPEAKER_03

Racing for the lead, and I like I said, it obviously wasn't intentional, um, but Todd gets into the right rear quarter quarter panel of Nagle. And it was just, like I said, just close quarters racing, right? Like um they spin out and collect some other cars that and just unfortunate for the guys behind him. Good for good for Tevor Fitzgibbons over here, but you had a pretty good view of that then.

SPEAKER_07

Oh yeah, I'm guessing. And how did you did you go through eyes closed or just hammered down?

SPEAKER_10

It was hammered down until Paul started coming up the track, and then we're like, we should probably stop this deal and not hit him.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I imagine so. Were you running third when it happened?

SPEAKER_10

Um me and Isaac were running basically door to door, I think, or close to you, but they were we were all battling for the lead right there, and it was uh it's pretty wild.

SPEAKER_07

It's kind of the part that you know, you see it in the stand, you see it watching, but here you are, you're racing side by side with a guy. Oh, by the way, there's a little battle going on in front of you that all of a sudden goes sideways.

SPEAKER_10

Well, that whole battle was going on for like two or three laps. Yep. Like there was we were all up on each other for a while. It was a heavyweight fight.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Oh yes, we haven't even talked about the heavyweight belt that Farley smacked down and um got two needed three. Yeah, we got another one. Yeah, we got another one.

SPEAKER_07

We've got another one coming.

SPEAKER_03

Um But yeah, that like I said, the and even at the end of your guys' race, it started to get pretty good where like but I think it allowed Todd to kind of drive away, but you and Isaac were kind of racing for a second there.

SPEAKER_10

The top was slow enough to where you could slide someone and they don't just kill you. Like you were able to do a slider not ready in their way.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Right. And then yeah, so Todd picks up that belt and then yeah, stock car stuff. Um let's go into Jonathan's week.

SPEAKER_07

Just so you know, that's my vote for the mayhem.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_07

All Jonathan and and to to say that there was mayhem for a win, I mean that that doesn't happen too often, really.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah. Um we were decent Tuesday, the Hurst Clash kind of elaborated on that feature. We were just absolutely terrible. Um I don't know if uh yeah, we're gonna talk about it. The goddamn banana peel up there. So um Tuesday night, we just I I just was too tight uh for the racetrack conditions, and it just, you know, just killed me. Um so we ended up running, I think, 16th. Um and so on Wednesday night we're at the shop, they had the wild Bill Cook Memorial going on up at the Casooth County Speedway. You said it right. I did it just for Chad. Oh, holy holy that was nothing. Chad and I have been having a little tutorial once a week on the phone. Uh, but uh we go up there and it was $17.50 to win. Um and uh we get up there and uh it was just Katie, uh Sis and I, um Bart tagged along with us and uh got set up with a good draw right on the front row. They come on, they say in the driver's meeting, we're gonna have a cash for that or a dash for cash uh that'll line you up uh first and second place out of your heat race. Gonna line you up for that. Uh winning the heat race put us on the outside front row. Oh, we end up winning the dash deal, which originally paid 250 bucks, and then they had some anonymous uh don donators uh in the grandstands, and it ended up being $550. Uh so right there, I mean I come back to the trailer and I'm like, girls, I mean, we're we're we're up $550 already. Like this this was worth a trip, you know. And uh the racing the week prior at Algona was phenomenal. Um there was two lanes of racing. Um I've I've been watching, uh haven't been able to make it up there as much as I've wanted to, just with the building and stuff going on. Uh so then um uh I got another lucky draw and started on the outside of the front row. And we were, I think it was a 20-lap race, and we were nine laps in, and the yellow, the yellow light, the yellow Logan comes on the receiver and says yellow, yellow. Um we go down in turn one and two, and I just plum spin out. Yeah. Like I I had no idea at this time who was behind me. I I had a really good idea that it was the three-car, uh, which I didn't know that it was Wahoo and or Kelly. Either one. I thought it was Kelly, and I thought, well, gosh, maybe I just got in a little soft and they just kind of lifted me up and spun me around. Well, then when I'm spinning around, at and at this moment I'm pissed now because I'm like, what is going on? All of a sudden, here comes Wahoo. He's into the side of me, and the next thing I know, we got Kelly Shirock basically trying to Dave Mara jump our left fronts, and we get into a pile up, and instantly over the radio, Logan comes on the radio and says, Guys, I fucked up. You're gonna get your spots back. The yellow flag was already out. Bloody bloody blah. Well, at this time we had no idea what was I had no idea. I'm like, man, what happened? You know? Uh so they pull us all apart. I have a left front flat. Um Wahoo's whole hood and fender, like actually this isn't a jab at the track crew at Algona, but when they lifted Kelly off, it actually ripped his ripped Wahoo's fender and everything off, like just a weird thing. Um, but it kind of did more damage to his car trying to get him unhooked. Kelly goes to the hot pit area, uh, they check things out. Uh I I didn't do this Thursday night, but I owe Chad Palmer and his guys a case of beer because we didn't take no tires down there, you know.

SPEAKER_10

Like I and uh I heard you pulled up the one stop, uh, didn't no one's came to you, and you went to the next spot and changed a tire.

SPEAKER_12

Nobody, yeah, like nobody came over to me. And like to me, I don't give a shit who you are. If you don't have a tire down there, I'm gonna give you my tire. Like, whatever. Like keep you going. That's just how I am. Keep you going. Right. And so Palmer's guy come over right away, man. They jacked the car up, they put the tire on. I pull back out there. I mean, Logan came on the race receiver several times and said, Hey man, we really, really screwed up. Well, then actually, during that time, my headset was going. So I'm driving down straight away, fucking with my thing. Then I can hear him going, Yep, we got this many laps. And I'm like, Well, I'm out front. I don't need to hear what he's saying. So they dropped the rag. Jake McBurney and I have an absolute barn burner of a race, in my opinion. Uh, Jake probably doesn't think so because he wanted to win.

SPEAKER_10

Sure.

SPEAKER_12

Uh, but uh we never touched uh as far as it was never a moment to where Jake shoved me out of the lane or I went in and rubbed him up out of the lane. It was just close rate. Like we got out of the cars and I actually gave him a big hug. He was getting into his modified, getting ready for that. But he's like, Man, good, great race, you know, and I'm like, Yeah, man, that was so fun. Like, it just was, it was fun. And uh, so we ended up picking up the seven $1,750. Uh it was a very emotional uh night for me that night. Uh, one of my best friends, uh, you know, his daughter passed away, and and uh her funeral and her service and stuff was that day, so it was a very special uh thing for me because some of my f our our little group of friends was like, Man, go up there and kick ass and get this one for Maddie, you know, and it kind of like sunk in, like, holy shit, we just did this, and you know, we talked about it, and uh so we're driving home, and my dad said on Wednesday, he's like, You're not going up to Algona? Oh, oh, I forgot. Kelly Shyrocks up there, you're not gonna go up there. And I'm like, I'm going just because you said that. So we go up there, and uh as you guys noticed, uh, at Boon Speedway on Tuesday night, Kelly pulls out for hot laps, and I come up and give him a little nudge in the ass in, and then spit mud all over him, and then we're racing. I mean, we they dropped the rag boy, we're racing for a thousand bucks on the spot. So to go up there and Kelly's really good, which he did break, um very unfortunate. I wish that it wouldn't have worked out that way. But in my opinion, if anybody else was in that position, first of all, how many times do you guys go to a racetrack where the top three cars get wiped out? So what happened was is uh Aringer, or God, I Swearinger Swearinger Don't even laugh, Garrett, blows up going into turn one and two. And if you've ever been to the Algona Speedway or Kassooth County Speedway, you can see, but you can't see, if that makes sense. Like the the corners are really dark, um and the dirt is everything's just dark. Yeah, it's just everything's dark. Like you can see, but it's hard. So, like when you drop black oil on the racetrack, like you watch the replay, the lights come on. When we get to the flag stands, the yellow lights are already on. So we go down into turn one and two, and it was like bananas down there. Right. And so Wahoo calls me after the races, and he's like, he goes, eh, must be rough, you know, getting your smot back on a yellow. I'm like, I didn't make the call, the track did. You guys are just jealous they like me more than they like you. You know, and he goes, he goes, you know, I was thinking, what the hell are you doing, Jonathan? And he goes, then I went to turn and went, oh shit, I can't turn either. And then he goes, Oh shit, here comes Kelly. It was just in a situation like that, when you hit uh water or oil or even when the racetrack's really slimy, our tires don't have that much tread. So you just lose everything. Like it literally, I mean, you watch the video, I'm I'm locked left, and my car is just I there's nothing I can do. I told Wahoo, I'm like, boy, I'm sure glad we weren't going in there about 65 on the on the firewall because we would have ended up in the in the concrete wall, you know, like it would have been way worse. Well, so in Logan's defense, he didn't see the oil either. He knew that that he blew up, but he kind of kept going and kind of coasted in or whatever, and the yellow was for something completely different. So when a racetrack, you guys all hold us accountable for everything we do on the racetrack. So for them, two-step Kevin, uh the their promoter, went over and had a little chat with Logan. And Logan's like, man, you know, like if we would have told them that this was down there, even though they didn't know how much oil was down there, none of this would even happen. Like, nobody'd even be in this position. Um and uh so I to me when a racetrack can admit it a fault and state like, hey guys, we're really sorry, you know. It it didn't tear up, I mean it tore up some stuff, but not a lot of stuff. Uh that says a lot about what they're at racetrack and what that program's trying to do up there. Um you don't see any other racetracks actually coming on the race receiver and saying, Hey man, I really screwed up. I we really made a mistake and we're gonna make it right. So um I think that says a lot about the the the racetrack and what they're doing up there. Um but uh so then we come home, and of course I'm gonna set the check up in the shop so when dad gets up and he walks down there, he can kind of be like, you know, because it was kind of late. Uh they ran a hell of a show. We got home at midnight. Um so uh I set the check up and Friday's going on, you know, and I have been to Marstown. I've been kind of boycotting a little bit. I'm only saying that 'cause Jar, you know, but I haven't been boycotting. I just haven't been there in like a month and a half. So we just had a lot of other things going on and racing some other events, and but it was thousand to wins, so I'm like, okay, well, let's go over and try it out, you know. And dad walks in the shop, what are you doing? I'm like, well, we're gonna go over to Marshtown. He's like, all right, you know, he's all pumped up and stuff. So we make the trek over to Marshtown. We pull into town, we see some guy puking on the side of the road. I'm like, well, this ain't good.

unknown

It's a good way to start.

SPEAKER_12

You know, some random just puking on the side of the road, calling the dinosaurs. More Moffats may have. We were gonna stop and ask if he wanted a bottle of water, but we only had one bottle. So we went on uh to the racetrack and uh get another lucky draw. I start on the outside front row and I drive that sucker straight to sixth. Terrible trash. I just tighter in a snare drum. I have no idea. I'm out there going like, man, this is cool. You know, first time at Marstown in a month and a half, and we're just going backwards right on. So we started let P11 for the uh for the feature at why come in, it was just Katie and I there. And she goes, What are you gonna do? And I'm like, we ain't doing nothing. We suck. We're just gonna go out, get our start money, whatever. I was kind of negative about it, you know. And uh I didn't even change tires. Matt came over, he's like, You change tires. I'm like, nope, these are the ones I won with in Algona last night. I just cut them up a little bit more because I'm trying to gear up for the North Dakota tour, so I'm putting all fresh rubber on. Anyway, we go out there and eight laps to go. I'm still in 13th. And I'm thinking, man, like, what are we doing? You know, I'm just kind of hanging out. There was some crazy shit going on. Um, and then all of a sudden, I don't know, I figured out how to get into turn three and four. Like, everybody was getting in there and getting tight. I kind of figured out how I could get in there and just rotate and get through there, and then all of a sudden, uh, I thought I was wiping out Johnny Spa's kid. I don't know what his name is, but he drives the number eight car. Yep. Him and Jim Gustin, just a racing deal. They got together, and I'm like, I zigged, and then I went this way, and then the very next lap we see A Cap spin Michael Jeanette out in front of the field, and then Jeff Mueller takes out Johnny Spa down in turn three and four, and then I watched the Ferguson freight train take a hard right on the railroad tracks, clear off the top of turn two, and then he goes. Throwing shells. Literally. And I'm like, I I mean, seriously, man, I'm I'm out there dukes a hazard shit. Everybody was, not just me. I look up and and Hunter Smith's got new Lamborghini door on the right front of that thing, hoods hanging off of it, fenders dragging on the ground, and I'm like, what is going on? Uh-huh. So uh I don't even know at this point. I think I'm up to fifth. And uh we drop the rag, we get going. Now I'm in third, and I'm like, okay, Joel Russ takes the bottom. I take the outside. Hunter Smith's leading at this point, because ACAP drives off the top, he caught the cushion, it bit him, he drives off the top, blah de blah. So we we we uh they drop the rag and Jimmy Gustin, thank, thankful for this, but his nose piece falls off down in turn three and four. So they instantly throw the yellow flag. Now Joel Russ takes the outside. And I'm like, oh, okay, so he's gonna give me the slide lane, right? And I'm like, well, I'm just doing what they've been doing this whole time. I'm gonna go in and I'm gonna go sh I'm gonna drive straight in and I'm just gonna slide up, and I'm like, if I don't think I can clear him, I'll just pull down and then I'll really slide him down in three and four because I felt a little bit better in three and four. And uh I get in there beside him. I basically helped Hunter out uh because his fender was laying on the ground. We didn't the video kind of looks like I shoved him up, but he got tight and did the whole drop the car down, and when he picked back up, we were still side by side. Like it did, it wasn't a thing where we were like this. I actually picked his fender up and put it back on his car for him.

SPEAKER_07

Well, that was nice of you. I don't know if you guys have seen that or not, but it put it back because job off on the track. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

I will be sending you that bill, Hunter Smith, for $25.

SPEAKER_07

Well, send it to Will Wolf. I think he owns the cars.

SPEAKER_12

Well, Wolf, it'll be $225 because we were not in the shop, so that is a mobile, mobile charge that's so uh we go down into three and four, and you know, Joel Rust comes in, um, he tries slide jobbing me. We go down into turn one and two, I cut down, Hunter Smith's cut down, we're four wide coming off of turn four, and then I rip the lip, I come around there, and uh pick up my first win at Marshtown in the stock art class. Um so I was ecstatic, and but at the same time I was sad because um Dustin Hansen, my crew chief, uh his wife's mom passed away that day. And so he wasn't able to come there, and Lindsay's been a big part of our racing program for 13 years, and uh so I got a little choked up in the interview deal. I not very often do you get a dedicated couple of races in a in a shitty circumstance for everyone involved, you know, and so um I I kind of got choked up, and then Jerry started talking to me about this and that and everything, and then come Saturday, everybody's like, oh man, you gotta go for three, you know, and I'm like, oh yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I may have done that at the pitch. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Fuck you had a shot at her. I did have a shot at it.

SPEAKER_07

I said, you know what's better than two in a row.

SPEAKER_12

Three in a row. Right. So then when you guys released the thing, because I've you know, I've been my car's been so fast, and now I'm starting on the front row. Yeah, so that's been terrible.

SPEAKER_03

We literally played myself too. So I was standing there with you, and you guys pulled the phone out, and and they're like, oh, front row Joe. And I was like, your point average is so bad that in double features you start outside front row.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, it's because you guys have been hosing me up in the booth. Heat and feature. Yeah. Sarah did it two weeks ago on the water, Josh did it a month ago. It's just one of them things. So we go out there, and it's like, you guys know when you're the leader, you're the sitting duck. So like I'm watching everything around me. If somebody's telling me to go high, I'm going high because I just don't know. So we're out there racing. There's no there's no cushion. Literally, it is razor thin. There's maybe this much going in and this much coming out. In the middle, nothing. So I'm like, okay, you gotta be real disciplined here. I get up there and I'm rolling around there pretty good, and I'm not seeing anybody, yellow comes out. Okay. Jim passes me on the bottom, and I'm like, whoops. Like, it's over now, you know, because when it goes to the bottom, it boom, it's very tough to get around. Well, there's a certain few of us that can run the bottom that you're not gonna pass us unless you literally take us out. So I'm like, man, that so I was I was just kind of pissed, you know, but it's just one of them things, you just don't know. So I'm like, all right, lock in here. Let's lock in and just see. I might have to root my own customer up off the bottom here for the three P. So they get us all lined up, and Sarah goes, okay, 19, drop back two spots, you were knocked two spots, we're jumping on the start, and I'm like, yes! Because I'm like, it's on the bottom. You know, I'm like, alright. So we get back up there, and I'm like, oh man, I'm still in the same position I was a lap ago, not knowing where anybody is. Before you go too deep.

SPEAKER_07

At that moment, I just want you to know, you guys were running, and we all knew that this had happened, but I knew you didn't. And I'm like, I turned to Sarah. I said, Do you know what it's gonna do if Jimmy wins this thing? And we're gonna bump him back two spots, and you're running second. Like, I was like, oh god.

SPEAKER_12

Concrete would have gone up three dollars a foot to get for the boon speedball after that. Oh yeah. Yeah, so like I'm like, I'm like, man, he must have really jumped. Well, I watched the replay and I'm like, hey, bud. I mean, he was at my left room, but the wire wasn't even on. So I'm like, okay, they made a good call for once. Kidding kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. So we take back off, and so now I'm running the bottom. All of a sudden I come down the back stretch and I see literally everybody from the ambulance clear almost down to the Smith's trailer. Everybody's going like this. So I'm like, right hand turn up to the top. Bobby Daniels is two tents quicker at that moment in the race. Then all of a sudden, the red flag comes out. And I'm like, man, I hate that because you just sit there and think about, man, you know, where's everybody at? Like, I just went from running the bottom where I felt like I was locked in and we were good. Now I'm up here on the top, and it feels like shit because it's slick and then there's nothing to get a hold of, but I'm maintaining because I haven't seen anybody. I'm like, sit there live. My decisions are happening. Right. I'm like, I need to drink a water. I could really have a smoke right now. I'm like checking out everything that's going on. Logan's fucking panting up there looking for the bowl of water because it's 85 degrees outside. Era's like, okay, guys, let's get you lined up. I'm like, all right, I'm just gonna slow roll. Uh-huh. Because if you guys have ever noticed, when I'm leading, like, I'm ready to get the race going. And you guys are up there, like, oh yeah, we're up here having ice cream. Hold on a minute. We're gonna get you lined up here real quick. So I like slow way down so we can hurry up the double file stuff. And uh, I'm like, okay, I'm gonna legit commit to the bottom of three and four because I felt a lot better down there, and I'm gonna commit to the top in one and two because I could go in there and hook my right rear on it. So they drop the rag. I go down and turn one and two on the first lap, which you don't ever do this, you know this fits. You like you gotta slide yourself almost at that point. But I felt so good up there, I'm like, I'm just gonna go up there and hit it. Like, they're gonna have to run me over to get me. I cranker down to the bottom, come around on the bottom, I'm like, man, it feels good down here. You know, I go into three, go into one and two, I'm like, we got six laps left. Here we come. I come down the back stretch and I see my crew guy go like this. Giving me the this is the digging like Dale. Stay right where you're at. My dumbass goes in and steps clean on my nightcrawler and spins out, puts my right rear over the right cushion. So he you thought go high.

SPEAKER_07

He was saying, stay where you're at.

SPEAKER_12

Yes. Oh, man. Totally my fault. Okay. Totally my fault. Okay. But there was so I'm gonna I'm gonna tell anybody that's listening, anybody that stands in our little area down there, you're done. That's it. You're out of there. We're gonna have a meeting about it. I'm not gonna be here this Saturday. There's assigned seats. But while I'm coming by, and there's like 15 people down there, and I just I misinterpreted what he said. And it cost me, I don't know if we were gonna win. We were in position to win, but I just blew it in way too hard and got my right rear over the cushion, and what happened, well, it wasn't a cushion, the lip. The lip, yeah. I spin out, I go to 12th, and I'm like, man, I I mean I was so, so mad at myself because I so you were loaded up quick too.

SPEAKER_10

I seen you the checkered and you were ramped off one. I was pissed. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_12

As soon as they threw the checkered, I went out like I like doing it. You know when you go over humps on the roads and it was it's like woo!

SPEAKER_08

Picture gun up, you know?

SPEAKER_12

And then I'm like, oh shit, you're on dirt, dumbass. And Dustin Lynch one time find out what the concrete was like over there. Think that wall. But I was gonna drive through the fence into the pit shack. So Emily is gonna pay attention, cats. Pay a window.

SPEAKER_07

Right. You see the Bobcat's eyes get the hell out of the way.

SPEAKER_12

Right. But yeah, I mean, it was just uh, you know, what really pissed me off after I went and watched the replay and everything, I'm like, man, I had such a good start. Oh, your start was great. That last restart, man, I got in there and I got where I needed to be. I got like a five-car link little jump. I hit one and two, perfect, and I'm like, I was golden. Like, even if I would have gone in and wasn't on the preferred lane, which was the top, in my opinion, which also though kind of showed a little bit different too, because Jimmy Gustin. So I'm thinking, I'm watching the replay, I'm like, holy shit, we got we're we're one, two, three rage cars. Like, I don't give a shit who wins at this point as long as it's a rage car. Okay, perfect. So I'm watching the replay, or I'm in seventh, and I'm like, I see Buck, he's doing the same thing I was doing, bottom and three and four, top and one and two. Well, all of a sudden, Jimmy, I don't know if Monica gave him, I'm not gonna talk to you for a week if you don't go up a little higher than what you are right now. But he went up there and he gets beside Buck. Buck doesn't see him. They come together. Buck pussy footed in one and two, half slide, jobbed himself, whatever you want to call it. Well, gave Jim no option other than to get on the brakes and try to turn down underneath him. When he did that, he hooked him. So then it's like you got to get completely out of the gas, and here comes this guy we know nothing about that's eight hours from home, drives by him on the bottom. Yeah, started in Wisconsin in hot laps and shows up and he's in victory lane at the end of the night. And he won the hard charger. And he won the hard charger. Yep. So it was like Jimmy calls me after the race and he's like, what was happening out there? I'm like, dude, I thought the same thing. Like the last two nights of racing, all the mayhem at Marshalltown, all the mayhem at Boone. Um, yeah, that's what happened to Bobcal.

SPEAKER_07

Well, you know why the Moffat's Mayhem segment is about this, because it was nothing but mayhem.

SPEAKER_12

Oh man, it was just crazy. Crazy up there panting. I'm just saying, I mean, you know for a bowl of water. Yeah, right. It just uh, and that's what ended our weekend. Um, but I can't complain. I mean, man, we we walked away with, you know, between Friday and Thursday night, it was 3,300 bucks. Um couple of qualifiers. I first time I ever qualified for the BB All-Star invitation. I probably won't do the shit in the timing, but I'm in. I'm in there. Okay. Uh so I was pretty pumped up about that. Uh, and what a great uh what a great little momentum spurt for our program right before the North Dakota tour. Um so pretty pumped up about that. All in all, a great weekend for our team. Um we're gonna you know miss the Boone Speedway this fry this Saturday night for the first time in I don't know. A long time. 13 years. I'm actually gonna miss two Saturdays in a row. So you're welcome. Devin Smith pretty much gave the championship to him. It's gonna hurt the power rankings. That's fine. They've been screwing me on it all year anyway. So uh I'll just deal with it. As long as I'm in the top 20 at the end of the year, I'm happy with it. I think it'll be there. I don't know, missing two. Well, pff again should be. Jake Socco hasn't been there all year, but he's still in the top five. There's a recency bonus. Yeah, right. But uh, you know what? We didn't elaborate on this, and and I want to touch base on it just a little bit. The trophy that Bob Harris gave Bruce Badgley.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, very cool.

SPEAKER_12

That gives me chills even right now. Like, what what does that say about Bob Harris and his crew? And I'm a little pissed that I didn't get to take Bruce didn't get to take my pictures on Saturday, knowing that like I didn't I kept hearing Jerry saying, Oh yeah, this is Bruce's line. And I'm like, what's he talking about? It's not July.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_12

Well, it was I mean, what a sad moment for motorsports. Uh Saturday night at the Moon Speedway. Uh Bruce has been we've talked about it.

SPEAKER_03

I'm just saying it was more bittersweet than you know, like it was, but I'm saying it's sad because of it. Yeah, you don't want to see him ride out in the sunset, but it's good for him to ride out in the sunset.

SPEAKER_12

It is, but you know what though, too? It's gonna be super cool to see him maybe come to the races without a camera. Right, just kind of enjoy it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you know, and then we'll get to catch up on all the softball games and whatever else he's got going on.

SPEAKER_12

But to see Bruce's facial expression when because the best part was that he had no idea. Yeah, right. And Wade, whatever he did it, he got a video of me too, doing some tickled tongue dance down there in the infield, and I told you my phone ain't quit blowing up since uh It was such a good video, but I'm like, I didn't like I seen him doing it, but I thought he was just you know on his phone. Sure. So I'm like sitting there having a smoke and everything, and then he like looks over at me and I'm like, oh well, hey bud, what's going on? Any little tongue twister? I'll give you one. And then next thing I know it's on the internet, and I'm like, dude. Getting friend requests. Yeah. Yeah. We heard people talking about it now going on Thursday. Yeah. But there's the guy with that tongue video. Did you see it? I'm like, oh my god, here we go. But anyway, that was a super cool deal, but um, yeah. That was the Bobcat moment of the week, right there. Little recap.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Well, let's get into our uh our guest, Trevor. Trevor Fitz.

SPEAKER_07

There you go. Got it. That wasn't too hard, was it? No.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_03

That's uh just depends on what what government name he picks this week.

SPEAKER_10

I wish I would get it right because my license is still wrong. Is it really? It's Tevor. Yeah, that's right. That's what I'm saying. You forgot the R after the T. Yeah, Tevor. That's awesome.

SPEAKER_07

Of course.

SPEAKER_03

You said it's just easier for people to call you Fitz, right? Yep. Yeah. So you got three different names now.

SPEAKER_12

But first we thought you worked for the government because we seen these names on the internet, and I'm like, and then we seen it on MRP, and I'm like, okay, this guy might be working for some Soviet game or something. S V I KGB. It's not Chinese because you don't have squinny eyes, but they could be Russian.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_10

No, we're far from it.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, good. Well, man, you know, just talking about your recent success. Um, we'll get into some of the backstory, but just for like right now, dude, your shit's been good. Like, you've had some really good results. Um yeah, just like I'm watching the 28 card and I'm like, man, that dude, he's creeping up there. Like, just I feel like you've here recently kind of solidified yourself as like one of the top five mod guys in the state. Like, you're gonna be you're there. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_10

It's it's been fun. Yeah. I've been uh everyone that knows me, I'm kind of like a scientist in the garage. It's I send Snapchats of all kinds of stupid stuff. I'm trying. So how come I don't have you on a Snapchat? You do, you just don't ever reply. I send you. Really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

What's your name? Trevor Burrus. Well, we don't know. We don't we don't know.

SPEAKER_12

It's a different name. Okay, okay, alright. Well, I'm gonna geez. We got three different now. I feel bad. Oh, I'll make it known after this. Okay. It's a different one. Check check one two inmate six one seven. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Well, according to YouTube, this is is his name, so that's right. Uh but to yeah, like I like I said, right now, I mean, things for you guys and in your program have been rolling, and I mean, it's just is it just you?

SPEAKER_10

I have no I have no idea.

SPEAKER_03

No, I'm saying like you on your crew.

SPEAKER_10

Like, is it just you and your own? Oh yeah, no, it's just it's just me and Anna, yeah. Really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

So from my perspective, because we we got to see you you came here three years ago, two years ago?

SPEAKER_10

I came out for Super Nuts. I flew out to help uh Bannisters and Flippo in 23.

SPEAKER_07

Okay. And then you just stayed.

SPEAKER_10

No, I went home. Uh we were all around the barbecue talking crap, and Tyler Bannister's dad, the term of the week was fuck it, with a dollar sign in it. And uh I was like, I bet I can find a job in a in a house out here in this week. So I borrowed uh Flippo's girlfriend's car, went and did some job interviews, um, got like a signed paper of how much I'll make, called the bank, said I need to buy a house in three days, looked at houses, um put an offer on one, flew home Sunday after Super Nets, and they called me Monday and said yeah, accepted, and two weeks later I loaded all my stuff up in my trailer and my dog, and yeah, here you go. I stayed in Garrett Horns' office for about a month until I closed on an air mattress.

SPEAKER_11

That's savage. Wow, that is so awesome. Yeah, okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Didn't own a bed, nothing. Bought the house, went to a furniture store in Marshalltown and bought a bed and a TV, put it on the wall with a like a folding chair from the racetrack, and that was it. That's dedication.

SPEAKER_07

Dude, no way. It's crazy.

SPEAKER_10

Then uh my mom ended up moving out here. Uh Daniel West from Bakersfield, he moved into the house. Um, who is next? Joe Peterson, who helps out Tom Barry.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Okay. He rents a room there still now.

SPEAKER_12

He's from California too?

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

No shit.

SPEAKER_10

He was the announcer at Merced and Annie Hawk. Garrett Korn was also an announcer at Merced, if you didn't know that. What? Garrett was? What is happening?

SPEAKER_12

Oh my god. The corn nugget. Oh yeah, he's an announcer. Oh, yeah. Golly. I didn't know that Joe was one, though. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, we got Actually, I I think I knew that Joe was an announcer. How come he doesn't do any announcing out here?

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. I don't know. Just hanging out with Tom.

SPEAKER_12

Well, that's fine.

SPEAKER_10

Just enjoying watching it. Just enjoying it.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

We gotta pull Garrett up into the booth.

SPEAKER_12

Well, he's not very good on the dirt bike. I do know that. Joe ain't.

SPEAKER_10

No, he ain't.

SPEAKER_12

Wow. Anyway, keep going. I feel like you have more stories about some of these California guys that have been out here, and I like it.

SPEAKER_10

Um let's see who moved out next. Uh Cody Johnson. He uh he flies back and forth. He actually won a race on Wednesday in California. He's using my tire guy.

SPEAKER_12

Is uh that's the 22 sport mod?

SPEAKER_10

No, no, he doesn't race out here. He races he races one of his brother's hobby stocks in California.

SPEAKER_12

Okay.

SPEAKER_10

Um he rents a room right now, but he's he left after Supernationals for work and didn't come back until like a month ago. So he's basically just been storing stuff at that house.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah. Wow. And yeah, that's about it. The transplant. We we finally have a transplant. Yeah, you know.

SPEAKER_10

Well we've talked about it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, and in the we've Josh and I have had conversations about this, like, and then you and I had some conversations about like me, we need to highlight like this this you know the transplant era.

SPEAKER_07

You could almost do a series about it.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Honestly, sure. And that's where we'd like and then Trevor's like, yeah, I've got all kinds of ideas on wanting to do some of that stuff too. Like, man, it's just that those guys that have moved out, you got Laney, um Topo, Hibden, T Dub, Doss, like Hippon, Ricky, everyone, right?

SPEAKER_12

Ryan Roth, you got them guys. I mean, well, they're from Arizona, but but still, yeah, all just transplanting, yeah. Tim Ward. Yeah. I mean, Ricky. It's keep going.

SPEAKER_07

It's a pretty big list. Yeah. We had Dylan on.

SPEAKER_03

It's like TBJ's a transplant, too. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Tbj is a that mini stock that Dylan bought, his first car, that was mine.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. That's awesome. So you texted me the pictures of that that one day. That's how I found out the the government name was I was doing some digging, was doing some digging on some stuff, trying to find the the pictures of it, and you're like, oh, I'll just help you here. And he sends me the picture of it. And the one of Dylan spinning that guy out, just staying in the fuel. But uh yeah, like I guess what made you guys want to come out here, made you want to come out here like um what was like you said, obviously, banisters was kind of giving you a hard time about it and whatever, but like had you had that in your mind previous to that, like I want to move out there and race.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. Yeah, I kind of wanted to, and then uh I was able to get time off work and yeah, I kind of just came out here and made it happen.

SPEAKER_07

That's what brought you out. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

One, I guess, uh I don't know, I didn't win much in California besides Ventura, but I still wanted uh race against the best.

SPEAKER_07

So you wanted to race against the best. That has to start somewhere. So where did where did Trevor fit? Start racing. Where'd you start into all this?

SPEAKER_10

Um I raced like these called lightning cup cars for I think two years. I don't even know when, maybe 2004, on like Asphalt Oval. It's basically a go-kar, it looks like a NASCAR.

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_10

Um did that and then got a mini stock, had a fake birth certificate, more government stuff. So I could race. See, I'm telling you, boys.

SPEAKER_12

It's the Russians. It's the Russians.

SPEAKER_10

So yeah, I had a had that, uh, raced a mini stock for three years, and then uh that was done, I think, in 2011. It's when I stopped and started riding bikes heavily.

SPEAKER_07

And by bikes you mean by sickles. Yes, little kids' bikes. Okay. Yeah. Um but you didn't do little kid things on them. No, no, we had fun. Pretty wild stuff.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, we go we go in the air and bounce off the ground. It's fine.

SPEAKER_03

Found this on YouTube. Look at this guy. Oh, that's you taking a digger there, buddy.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, this was uh basically my job. I worked at Papa John's just so I could buy flights and travel and do everything.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it was fun. So you worked at Papa John's to to finance your dynamics stuff.

SPEAKER_10

I did a commercial for a Dairy Queen, you guys probably all saw at one point in your life as well. Really? Yeah. It was uh Oreo Blizzard S'mores commercial. Did that. Um that was a good deal. I wasted all that money. They paid it's like 16 grand for a day of work because I was like considered a principal actor.

SPEAKER_09

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_10

Um, yeah, I wish I got a Dairy Queen card. Instead? Yeah. So now I'm moving to the Midwest because there's zero dairy queens in California.

SPEAKER_07

Um, a lifetime Dairy Queen card would have been pretty sweet.

SPEAKER_10

Dude, that's an awesome card. Oh, yeah. That would have been sweet.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Wait, so how did you get hooked up with a Dairy Queen commercial?

SPEAKER_10

I got contacted by like an agent for doing commercials and music videos and because of the BMX stuff. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I was like, wait a minute, what do you got going on?

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, they seen him riding down at Cummings Park.

SPEAKER_10

North Moon. Yeah. Yes, I did uh I did a few of those and basically uh rode bikes for a little while. I quit. I flew to a contest in New Jersey. I was supposed to be there for three days. I had a friend call me that lives in Minnesota, asked me to do uh BMX shows at like fairs, actually at this place. Um and I ended up going to Minnesota for a weekend on like a one-way flight, and he's like, We need you want to do shows for another week. I was like, Yeah. Well, I ended up being out there for about eleven months, just never went home, traveled out of there, and it was uh it was fun. Lived in Minnesota on accident. The first first time I really felt humidity.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_10

You don't forget that, dude. No, definitely not. Now it's now it's hot this week.

SPEAKER_03

Well, were you saying that you were overseas as well doing some of this stuff?

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. Um I went to Germany like a week out of high school by myself, missed a flight in Paris, and it was it was fun. Yeah, I was there for four days for a contest called Worlds. And then I went to France twice.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. What kind of bike did you ride? Mongoose.

SPEAKER_10

A mongoose.

SPEAKER_12

But no wonder I was so fast up there at the Crawford County Speedway back in 1897.

SPEAKER_08

Come on, baby.

SPEAKER_12

We used to have this dirt or well, it wasn't, it was the asphalt track. Just the street. But we used to, we coot used to live on the other side of town. We had the flags, we I mean, we had all the shit. And I rode a mongoose bike. Mongoose until I clapped that one out and then busted the old Huffy and I got a goodwill.

SPEAKER_10

Huffy's back. It's pretty crazy. Yeah, they are back, but have you seen Jimmy's bike? Yeah, I I see him every Saturday. I brought mine just so I can try to race him or something, but he's scared.

SPEAKER_12

Oh man. I'm disappointed I haven't seen you do like uh anything on the bike of the track.

SPEAKER_10

When you get back from Dakota tour, we'll do something. All right. You got a portable ramp? Uh in Minnesota, the guys that I did shows with, yeah, they have like a it's called an airbag, but they have a big landing in the lip they set up. You can ride wherever.

SPEAKER_03

Content. Can we figure it out? So Garrett. Is there a skate park in the U.S.? Open up your skateboard. Oh, there is a skate park here.

SPEAKER_10

We have a skate park in America in Des Moines.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Which is weird because I came out here in 2014 for a contest in Bondarant at a barn. Um, and I live a mile away from there now, so it's like I can go there and ride. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

So you still ride? Like can you still do like a 720?

SPEAKER_10

Uh I can do a lot of the stuff still, yeah. You still can? Yeah. Can you do that deal I sent you today where that guy got a front flip and then flipped his bike at the same time? No, that dude is a uh that dude's a freaking nature.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, we're gonna have to get some of that on tape.

SPEAKER_12

I mean, that's pretty cool, Brand. Okay. I'm just saying, like, I was pumped up just because I, you know, when they came out on the PS2 with the Dave, is it Dave Mara? No, it's Mira. Yeah, I sent her on the whole time. I sent her on the whole time. Uh-huh. Well, I've just got to letting it ride off. I mean, that was like one of the games back in the day. Like, so when Cody said, like, did you know that Fitz was a professional BMX rider? I'm like, shut up. And then he sent the video, and I've watched it like 15 times. Because I just think it, like, I was a bike rider too, you know. Like, I didn't do shit like that. We had this place called Witch's Tit.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

We'd take a couple of mom and dad smokes, grab a couple of mountain divs, head down to Witch's Tit, hit the dirt ramps. We had a crick. We had all kinds of we actually went down there to smoke cigarettes the whole time. Of course. We'd be down there like all jacked up. These, these, these cigarettes are so good. My mom used to smoke Marlboro Light 100s. Boy, it'd take a day just to smoke one of those. Yeah. I mean, I put it out three times. I get I get a high off of it three times, you know. Drink a Mountain Dew, bud. We rode bike for 12 hours. Don't even look back. Street lights come on, we're still headed home. But so I thought it was super frickin' cool, but what what's the biggest event you were on when you were doing the BMX? And did you win it?

SPEAKER_10

Uh no, no. It was called Feast. It's like the European X Games. It's uh It's insane. There's uh they had 440,000 people walk through the gates that week. Wow. Excuse me, what? 440,000 people. So they stopped selling anything glass in the city before the event. And it's free to go in. They have BMX, wakeboarding in the The um the river, skating, scootering, um, mountain biking, parkour. It's it's insane. It's a massive event. Yeah. Parkour. Yeah, parkour.

SPEAKER_03

Uh when you say scootering, you're talking like razor scooters, right? Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, not yeah, not the electric ones that do 90 now.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Oh, Kellen's got a couple of those. Uh 440,000 people.

SPEAKER_07

That's a lot of people.

SPEAKER_12

I mean, how do you how do you prepare for how do you prepare for something like that? Loud headphones. Yeah, really?

SPEAKER_10

As far as getting in front of that many people, yeah, it's it's crazy.

SPEAKER_12

So did you have like a lineup that you did, like a just a lineup of tricks that you were just always working on, or were you always trying to improvise and come out with something cool or every course is a little different, so you'd kind of prepare.

SPEAKER_10

It's kind of like looking at a track, you gotta see where you're gonna go. Yeah. And then uh I'd usually keep it in my notes on my phone, and then yeah, you'd practice for you'd probably get, I don't know, four hours of practice over two days to figure your life out.

SPEAKER_12

And so how many cool peep other BMX writers did you actually like get along? Like, was it like a thing? Like you all were just kind of like your little niche.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, we all kind of stayed, yeah, everyone kind of met up at all the different places and rode together.

SPEAKER_12

Did you ever get to beat Tony Hawk?

SPEAKER_10

I don't think so. Matt Hoffman, yeah. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, that's okay.

SPEAKER_12

That's cool. That's cool.

SPEAKER_10

He's a little fried now, but yeah. Yeah, well, you'll have that. Yeah, he's in his head a few times.

SPEAKER_12

Early 90s, the foil was on sale a lot back in the day. So it was hard to keep it on the shelf. Okay. I mean, I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_10

But uh, I mean, what there's there's uh I did like a top five at a contest, and looking at the results now, three of them are Olympic medalists. Really?

SPEAKER_12

Do you wish that you would have stayed like seeing those guys have that success and go to the Olympics? Like, did was that ever a uh an envision for you?

SPEAKER_10

There was no right when I kind of got out of it is when the Olympic talks started. So it was basically feast in France and X Games were those were the shits, yeah. But uh And you did all those? I didn't do X Games in America, but the Feast ones, yeah, in Europe.

unknown

Wow.

SPEAKER_03

So how did how would that work? Like if you wanted to do the X games, do you have to get invited?

SPEAKER_10

Or is X Games is invite only. No, yeah. It used to be just it was kind of political, big energy sponsor. Sure.

SPEAKER_12

Were you good enough to be invited? Like legit like it was on legit things.

SPEAKER_10

I did get invited to like contests in Mexico and they paid for all my France trips and everything. So that was that was cool.

SPEAKER_11

That's pretty cool.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's pretty bad. So were you sponsored by anybody big? Like, did you have that?

SPEAKER_10

I had I was sponsored by Monster, yeah. And then uh pedal company, like bicycle pedals. I was gonna bring one for you to guys put on the shelf. I forgot it. Um I had like a signature signature pedal, yeah. Yeah, we'll give you the address.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, you had your own pedal?

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, that's pretty cool.

SPEAKER_03

Really?

SPEAKER_12

That adds two tens right there, buddy. You're lucky I didn't know T fits back in the air. I really wouldn't show you guys.

SPEAKER_03

Well, come on, man. All right, so he's got his own signature pedal. He was on a dairy queen commercial.

SPEAKER_07

You should put that on your gas pedal. Probably has a little grip to it, right?

SPEAKER_10

That'd be kind of cool. Yeah, if you guys ever had like bear claws, it's ten times worth and worse than those. Oh yeah. I remember aluminum with like hollow point pins. Oh boy, yeah. Yeah, tear the body out.

SPEAKER_12

I was just gonna say nasty. Yeah. You catch a shin on that sucker, you're getting some super glue and some stitches.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. And not in that particular order. Not in that particular order either, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

They're gonna dump alcohol on it first, and you're gonna scream, then they're gonna stitch it. That's gonna hurt. Damn. Wow, that's so cool, man.

SPEAKER_03

Like, so we need to get one of these. Yes. We'll see. We'll see you soon.

SPEAKER_10

It's sitting on the bench in the garage.

SPEAKER_03

Do not forget the Trevor Fitz signature bicycle pedal. Yeah, but you're lucky.

SPEAKER_12

You're lucky. I used to be savage on the PlayStation's game.

SPEAKER_03

You're lucky that we don't have one. I'm gonna have to get it on the PlayStation. I got a PS2, bud. We can figure it out. Get it up here.

SPEAKER_10

I'm gonna have to put it on the P on my my work laptop and bring it to the track and we can play.

SPEAKER_07

We're gonna put these guys. I can't wait to see that.

SPEAKER_10

That's gonna be so good. Gee, we pull 911, bud.

SPEAKER_03

We gotta find we can figure out a way to splice the TVs together.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, this is actually a race Garrett Korn was announcing. Seriously? Yeah, that was me and Troy Folger. Go to the end of this deal. We're throwing bombs on each other for for like a couple hundred bucks.

SPEAKER_12

Troy Folger is such a cool guy. Dude, he's awesome.

SPEAKER_10

He drives with one hand and his hand on the thing. Oh, wait, you're already we're already past. I love Troy. No, it's close to that. Oh, yeah, here it is. There you go. Yeah, but when he said he put both hands on the wheel, it's shit's getting fun. That's yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Troy's such a good guy.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. This is my first full year race in a modified 2019. And I had no idea what I was doing. I had like zero idea what I was doing.

SPEAKER_12

Everybody thought that when you moved out here the first year. Remember that? How much shit you tore up, and everybody's like, this frickin' Trevor Fritz guy.

SPEAKER_10

So all my wife in California we race once a week, maybe like damn, three times a month. So like in my head, we always like, oh, we got all week or two weeks to fix the car. Well, out here you gotta race tomorrow. So I kind of learned pretty quick.

SPEAKER_12

Right.

SPEAKER_10

But these infield tractor tires don't help.

SPEAKER_12

But see, the thing is, is we talked about that. Tim Ward, when he first came out here, his car I mean, man, I saw how many times I seen him come in with his shit just completely destroyed. Well, like a kid in a candy store. There's it's there's so much to do. Yeah, right. And so it was like, and then it was cool to see him progress. And it's no different than what you've done. You know, you come out here, you kind of you're aggressive, you're fast. People are not liking the 28 car because you're aggressive and you're racing and rubbing, and it's it's not that you're intentionally doing any of this stuff, and you've seen that now to where you're a little more hold on a minute here. I'm racing tomorrow, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I'm not gonna push this issue, but I'm still gonna push the issue of just maybe not like I did eight months ago, right? Type deal. And so it's been cool to see you kind of transition in into the like Cody said, I mean, but you've really you kind of slowed down a little bit last year at the end of the year. You had a bunch of wrecks and just tore the shit out of your car.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, we've I think that last year was when he flipped.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, I mean, you just had some some circumstantial shit happen that just kind of not that it slowed you down, it was just a lot going on, you know, and tore your race car up pretty good. And this year you've been so consistent just running running up there. That that's the right there. Yeah, you just crinkled his door there.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, I tore the whole side of it off. They wrapped it in the pits that night, too. Now, Bill, I mean we were good friends, and Bill Bauer came over. He's like, he tore the whole side of my car off. I was like, Well, use the extra 300 bucks you just got off me for winning to fix it.

SPEAKER_12

Right. That's awesome. Well, Joy just realized there that he won the race. They must have just told him.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, we yeah, we raced another lap basically, and then they told us.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah. But it's just super cool. I mean, what you know, you went from when so what year did you quit the BMX stuff to go into the modified stuff?

SPEAKER_10

Uh well, I kind of stopped riding bikes. I still did it in 2016. I raced my dad's hobby stock for a year, and then I raced a dwarf car for a year, and then I went to the modified in uh in 19. I raced twice in 18.

SPEAKER_12

Before we get off the bike stuff, what was your favorite trick?

SPEAKER_10

Uh it's called a Twix. So it's like a bar spin and a tail at the same time, and there's But we know what a Twix is.

SPEAKER_12

We had the game. Now I mean you can elaborate on it. It wasn't in the game.

SPEAKER_07

When you said it, did you see his hands? It went they were. It wasn't in the game yet.

SPEAKER_12

No, it was it was it was the cheat code. It was triangle zero X, square, square, square, square, square, over, over, over, over.

SPEAKER_04

Uh-huh. There it is. Three times over.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah. Right.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

So anyway, the Twix. Yeah. Was that like your that was like your signature move?

SPEAKER_10

Um, no, one dude did it in Australia Um over like a straight box jump, and then I learned it. Um, then I was the first one to do it in France on like a quarter pipe.

SPEAKER_12

Really? Yeah. Well, that's kind of cool.

SPEAKER_10

And now there's only, I think, three of us right now that are still able to do it. Yeah, it's pretty cool. Sounds like you need to pick the handlebars right now. Uh yeah, what are we doing here? Like, what's that? With age comes a cage, that's what they say. That's a good way to put that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so that's another have you had any like significant injuries that made you slow down or anything like that?

SPEAKER_10

Um just overall pain. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Knees, like my shoulders lately messed up, so like I can't I can't go down this way, but I have to like go that way. If I put my hands up, which kind of sucks. That started this year.

SPEAKER_07

A few good crashes or just wear and tear. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

This is all making way more sense to me. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, if I crash, I'm sorry, I just don't remember. Right.

SPEAKER_12

And that folks means that he'll never be on jury duty. He's unreliable. When it comes to remembering shit.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Um shit. What what I mean, what's the craziest thing? I'm like, like you see these guys on these big jumps, you know, they're jumping in these these massive stuff. Yeah, that like the foam pits or like foam pits are fun.

SPEAKER_10

Are they? Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Like, what's that like going off of there? Like, you can do whatever you want and just.

SPEAKER_10

As long as you don't let go of the bike, you're good. You're good, yeah. Because if you let go, if you're upside down, then it's coming down, you stop on top of the foam and you're the you're the one stops it. I didn't think about that. Yeah, that's a good point. Okay. That's when the suck starts, but wow. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I think Pastrana's learned that a few times with the dirt bikes. Uh-huh. They write real quick, stay a hold of it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That's I watched a video of trying to show uh Cerone how to do a backflip, and he's like, don't let go of the bike.

SPEAKER_07

Not let go. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Is it scary? Like jumping into phone pits and shit like that. Like knowing like just because you like the first time you went to a phone pit, then they're like, don't let go of the bike, or it's gonna come down and you're gonna go.

SPEAKER_10

No one told us that. Oh. We just kind of learned.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Took a nap and learned. Yeah, fair enough.

SPEAKER_03

After you got whacked in the face by a set of hair bars.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, you learn pretty quick.

SPEAKER_07

Damn. Right. So go ahead, Josh. No, I was just gonna say, so you go mod racing.

SPEAKER_10

Yep.

SPEAKER_07

You do a little bit, not a ton of mod racing out there.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, I did a lot.

SPEAKER_07

You did?

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. 2019 I raced like 50 times. Okay in California, that's pretty stupid.

SPEAKER_07

Hard to do out there.

SPEAKER_10

No, I was driving uh like Merced was about four hours for me. Holy cow. We do that every Saturday. The Ventura didn't race. Um during COVID, we went to Susanville. That was nine hours.

SPEAKER_12

Push you sounds fun.

SPEAKER_10

Holy cow.

SPEAKER_12

Susanville.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, they had they had the best fireworks show 4th of July because it I went up there twice and both years it was a disaster. Um there's stuff blowing up on the ground, there's people running. It was it was awesome. I went back the next year and it's kind of the same. So it was awesome.

SPEAKER_12

It was kind of like when we had Dr. Danger in the world. Oh yeah. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I forgot about that.

SPEAKER_03

That's what we'd like to hear. When the guy walks in, I've never been flashed out.

SPEAKER_12

And they're like, Oh, this is the dare dare the danger doctor.

SPEAKER_03

He was on so Lottie found this guy. He was on uh America's Got Talent. He was on National Geographic, is what it was. He was on America's Got Talent or something, and yeah, anyway. This is true story. Yeah, it was he brings his guy, I don't know how he found him. And it was I've never been like flash, what does that call that? Flash banged. Did you ever did you talk to him? Oh yeah. The first time I met those guys was the last time we had that that Hicklin Power Sports gave us that can Am, and it was all wrapped up nice and had Boon Speedway and everything on it. And I go out there and this dude is making pyrotechnic bombs on the back of this piece of plywood that his guys had sat on the tailgate of this brand new cannibale side by side. And I'm like, whoa, what are you doing? What is happening?

SPEAKER_10

You just best walk away.

SPEAKER_03

Just I'm like, fellas, the gas can't go. Yep.

SPEAKER_07

This full of gas, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it was like, I don't know how they did it, but it was a gun mix of gunpowder, bags of gas, and they'd they'd light them. I'm about that. I have a video of because he brought him back for uh Lottie had him for the Fourth of July, and then they brought him back for something else later. Supernationals.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, they he brought him back for Supernationals. He kind of lived here.

SPEAKER_03

And yeah, they did.

SPEAKER_12

I forgot they did. He was one of them guys fitzy that he could look at me and Cody, or look at you and Cody at the same time. Oh, he's towed out. I always told him, I'm like, bud, both eyes right here. I'm trying to figure out what how what you're building here for bombs and shit. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I don't think I've ever heard towed out when it comes to that. That's pretty good.

SPEAKER_03

It was a wild deal. And then uh yeah, Supernationals. I still have a video on my phone, I'd have to find it, but like I did it in slow motion. Grabo's coming out of turn four to win the uh prelim in the stock car, and these things go off, and like it's a sick video, but like it about blew the windows out of the VIP tower.

SPEAKER_12

Everybody in the infield thought that somebody dropped a bomb.

SPEAKER_10

Is this dude still alive? Can we get him back?

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, he's still alive, Dr. Dinge, or look him up. I don't know.

SPEAKER_10

I've been why I have this page I watch on Facebook. It's uh this dude makes like interballistic hood missiles. He like makes his own rockets, but they just go high enough where they shoot down, and it's just like the loudest bang possible. He does it like in Compton and LA, and yeah, they just it's the loudest bang, and there's always like a second shot of someone just outside in their yard, and this thing lands in their yard and just explodes. Oh my god. It's it's incredible. I'm trying to find out where to buy them because I want 'em.

SPEAKER_03

It's incredible. Yeah, that guy was wild. So um, anyway, going from that, uh this is a good question. What was the biggest culture shock like when you came out to the Midwest? Like, I guess it wouldn't slowing slowing down. Yeah, I suppose.

SPEAKER_10

I uh I was at Casey's, and I guess I looked like I was in a rush just walking around in the grocery store or Casey's. And some old dude came up to me and he's like, You need to slow down. I was like, What do you mean? He's like, You look like you're going too fast. And I was like, Well, yeah, I don't know. He's like, What are you gonna get home ten seconds earlier, sit on the couch and watch TV? He's like, just slow your roll. I was like, huh. That's kind of smart. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That is actually kind of a decent piece of advice, I suppose.

SPEAKER_10

I don't think I've slowed down, but right, right.

SPEAKER_12

What do you think of the corn sweat season out here in the street? That's Iowa.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. I'm waiting for all of them to switch to beans, so what I gotta deal with that.

SPEAKER_12

Well, we won't be doing that because corn pays a lot of the money and makes a lot of fuel around here, these parts, but the soybeans do too for the biodiesel part of it.

SPEAKER_10

Um the diesel sheet we can raise more.

SPEAKER_12

Right. It's just a boon. I think it's a boon thing. Um I got fuel at Quickstar in DeSoto today and it was uh $385 a gallon. Yeah, it's going down. Yeah, it's starting to drop down. Uncle Donnie's really starting to twist on the oil rigs over there.

SPEAKER_07

They get the straight opened up, that should help.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, which is what it is. It uh, you know, like what's your favorite thing about being out here in the Midwest and racing with all these guys? Is it the competition? Is it the hot dogs? Is it the Crespitoes we brought to the racetrack?

SPEAKER_07

Have you had a burger? What do you mean? At the racetrack. Have you had a burger since we switched to doing solid burger?

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, I did. I had one on Saturday actually. They are good. That's good.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah. Good deal. I like I noticed the beef tallow, man. That it makes a difference. Locked in. Just puts a little bit.

SPEAKER_12

I forgot that you guys had got corn nuggets. Oh, yeah. Those were brought to the trailer on Saturday. My favorite part still is the French fries, like it's the salt. Those French fries are perfect, yeah. They're the best ones.

SPEAKER_10

And if you had like a ranch or something, it dips, like they're made for dipping. Yes. It's like the scoops chairs.

SPEAKER_12

Little uh pay attention. Since we're talking about since we're talking about the concession stands, okay? I want to bring something new to the Speedway, and it won't cost shit to do it. And I think you'll sell the shit out of them. What is it? And I want the listeners' feedback. So I want everybody that's listening to message Josh and Cody this week about this new food item that we could have in the grandstands only, but uh fried marshmallow. We've already got the batter. I know you guys got chocolate sauce.

SPEAKER_07

You're talking about the fat ones.

SPEAKER_12

Just a bit, yep. You can get them at Sam's Club. They're cheap. They're cheap. I got a whole bag of them sitting on my counter right now. I'm just saying, wooden stick in the funnel cake batter 46 seconds in the fry. I've already tested it. Okay. It puts a crispy.

SPEAKER_07

You got a fryer in your trailer or what? At my house. He does. Have you been over? No. You gotta go. Yeah, you do need to stop over the shop sometimes.

SPEAKER_12

It's a pretty tricky stuff. I don't think I'm allowed to drive it. My dad tricked it out.

SPEAKER_10

I don't think I'm allowed to. I'll drive a Harris. Oh, no, no. My dad. Oh, no.

SPEAKER_03

His dad would prefer you to be there than over him. Oh, perfect. Yeah. Because you're stolen here.

SPEAKER_12

My dad built Harris to what it is today, in my opinion. Kyle's done a great job, but I'm saying, like, so my dad still has a really soft spot for Harris cars. Legacy. Legacy, yes. That was a good way to put it. So anyway, we fry it. Yep. 46 seconds. We pull it out. We drizzle the chocolate over, tap a little powdered sugar on it. I'll guarantee we can sell them for $3 all day long.

SPEAKER_10

I've never heard of that before.

SPEAKER_07

Hey, I there they experimented with the uncrustables. They sell the hell out of them. I'm so you know whose idea that was? I've heard it was.

SPEAKER_12

I seen it on TikTok. Oh, bud. Oh bud. You have no idea. Yeah. If I had Legos in here, you guys would see it. Double stacker, Toader, frickin' Steve Canzer. He's just a kid. I'm just saying, man. I seen it, but it's just something for the kids. I actually, okay, I don't, I don't, I think three bucks is too much. How about two bucks?

SPEAKER_07

It's like a s'more. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Oh no, no, it is a s'more.

SPEAKER_07

Right.

SPEAKER_12

Literally.

SPEAKER_07

Have you seen the big marshmallows that have chocolate in the middle of them? Yes. Okay. I think that I don't think that'd be the same. I don't think it would be the same.

SPEAKER_12

It won't be the same now because I, you know, have you had the ones with the chocolate in the middle? They're really good. We had them uh we were in we were at Eldora here a couple years ago and we got them. They're super good. But the video that I seen of it was actually the marshmallow rolled in egg and then rolled in graham cracker and then fried. Oh boy. But I'm saying the funnel cake batter is awesome because it's so the only thing that you really have to buy is the marshmallow. You already got the channel. You already got the sticks, you already got the chocolate, you already got the powdered sugar. You guys got chocolate, don't you?

SPEAKER_07

I think so.

SPEAKER_12

I'm pretty sure.

SPEAKER_07

They could go gourmet and crush up some graham crackers and put over the chocolate. Oh.

SPEAKER_12

Come on. Now, I'm just gonna go ahead and say, I want to know how many of those we're gonna sell, Teresa. She'll tell you. She'll be able to tell me, and I want uh I want to I'll take uh 3% of the profits.

SPEAKER_07

Although they're gonna they're gonna name them after you. That's fine. Yeah. The bobcat it could be it could be bobcated. Bobcat Mellows. The bobcat mellows.

SPEAKER_12

Yep. Stop on down to get yourself a pair. Pair of paws.

SPEAKER_07

The marshy bobcats. Oh my god. Man, I'm just saying, I think it'd be a good idea.

SPEAKER_12

I really think it'd be a good seller.

SPEAKER_07

I do too.

SPEAKER_03

I seriously. I still want to do the the uh the funion, uh chili cheese dog in a bag with the funy's oh yeah. That'd be good.

SPEAKER_12

Fritos, you mean? Or funions?

SPEAKER_03

Either way. Either way.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. It would be good.

SPEAKER_03

I've done them at home with with funions and some with Fritos. You do like chili cheese dog. You got the sauce, you got the hot dogs, you got the meat there already. There we go. Anyway. Alright, so we've gotten off the rails on concession stand items.

SPEAKER_07

We do have to talk about where did you get your race car number?

SPEAKER_10

Um it looked cool. I always wanted to be double zero also.

SPEAKER_02

Wait a minute. That's the best answer I've heard. Yeah, it looked like it looked cool. It looked cool.

SPEAKER_10

There was an off-road off-road dude that had a 28, and it's the same font and everything. Okay. And it just looked cool. Then I wanted to be double zero, and I figured that twenty-eight is kind of double zero. It's two and then the eight is two zeros.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, and it all kind of fills up the yeah. Alright.

SPEAKER_10

It worked. Very cool.

SPEAKER_07

Very cool.

SPEAKER_03

Um I like the I like the thought.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. It's different.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I wanted to ask you about this video that you posted. You're like, oh, we sucked on Tuesday, but was it a video of your dad?

SPEAKER_10

That was Oh yeah, my dad doing a big old wheelie. Oh yeah. Did you guys hear that? He builds all of his own cars. I don't think so. We uh he didn't believe in uh in buying race cars, so he'd uh he built his own modified hobby stocks, everything, and that's that's all I've ever raced, and then we uh Yeah. That one.

SPEAKER_07

Like bend his own tubing and everything?

SPEAKER_10

Oh yeah, really round up, yeah. He's always built his own stuff. But he'd have he'd have a dream and then.

SPEAKER_07

Oh yes I did too see that.

SPEAKER_10

Is that Kelly Lyons? Yeah, it looks like it.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

He ended up passing that dude and then ran out of tear offs trying to get to the lead.

SPEAKER_07

Three wheeling like five time in two thousand one. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

And then my uh my grandpa raced, my aunt raced, my dad raced, and my mom raced. So I was I was pretty screwed from the jump. Yeah. My mom raced uh race modified, she raced Supernats in 2002. And then she lived in Missouri. She raced late models out there with MLRA for a while.

SPEAKER_07

Your mom raced supernaturals.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, in 2002.

SPEAKER_07

In 2002.

SPEAKER_10

In what? Um I believe it was one of Gary Hubert's cars before Lucas. A modified. Yeah. A modified. Yeah. Yeah. She battled with, I forget who it was, I think Dan Fitzgerald for the Western Region title one year.

SPEAKER_07

What's your mom's name?

SPEAKER_10

Uh at the time it was Kathy Pearson.

SPEAKER_07

Wild. Yeah, this is obvious. This is insane. Yeah. And that was that was when I was driving. I mean, I didn't drive long, but that's when I was driving solid race supernationals that year.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, she mainly raced in modified in California and Missouri.

SPEAKER_07

I'll be damned. And battling Dan Fitzgerald, like I remember him. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Wild. Jeez. There's a lot of things clicking here right now.

SPEAKER_07

There is. There is. There's a lot of stuff coming out.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, a lot of a lot of weird stuff aligning out in Iowa. Wrote a BMX contest and yeah, I won that two years in a row and in Bond Durant. Now I live a mile from there.

SPEAKER_03

That's nuts. Yeah. So Garrett said you texted me, you said he's a photographer too.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

I'll What the fuck is happening right now? Jane knows she brings an extra camera to the track now in case I want to go in the infield and shoot. But yeah, I have I have a bunch of camera gear and I'll go shoot photos when I'm board. Really? Yeah. What do you like to shoot? Um I like shooting black and white, mainly like cityscapes, portraits, stuff like that. Okay.

SPEAKER_07

Like not animals or but if there's animals, yeah. Okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Wow. We got a couple baby pigeons out here.

SPEAKER_12

We have this. We have and they got they they have made another egg. Yes. And it's in a shit pile under there.

SPEAKER_07

We're just God, man. Well, it's warm enough now they don't have to sit on them.

SPEAKER_12

Right, right.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

We need we need to go to break. We do. We really do. We're we're we're an hour into this next segment here. We've been uh T fitzing with BMX Dave Mara. We've been all over. We've been to Frank, France, we've been to Paris, we've been to got lost in the Germany airport. The Soviet Union made its debut here as looking for rockets online.

SPEAKER_10

Looking for rockets online, he's a photographer. He's been in a DQ commercial. If I don't work for the government, I'm definitely on a watch list.

SPEAKER_07

Well, if you weren't, you are now. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Man, I'm learning, we're learning so much so quickly here. But uh yeah, we're we'll go to break here. We'll send it off, and uh when we come back, we'll wrap things up. We do have a box to open. We got some to open. So for the unboxing.

SPEAKER_07

No, it's just gonna be pretty cool. So should be interesting.

SPEAKER_03

I saw who sent it, so I think you know, yeah. I think Bob Kat's gonna be pretty pumped about it.

SPEAKER_07

We like that.

SPEAKER_03

I like it when people send stuff.

SPEAKER_12

Like really cool stuff. Very cool stuff. Yeah. No, I'm guys on my chair. Oh, yeah. I thought you were looking at the helmet. No, the chair. The chair.

SPEAKER_07

There's that is pretty cool. And now that you're in the B, you're uh you get to participate in the B all-star.

SPEAKER_02

That might go with the trophy this year.

SPEAKER_03

That'd be pretty funny. Actually, yeah. Anyway, whoever wins has got to put the song on. Oh, Jesus. That'd be funny. Anyway, all right, we'll send it off to break. Um, you've been watching Watermelons and with this, we'll be right back.

SPEAKER_05

Welcome to the Adobe Lounge located in Boone, Iowa, at 915 West Mamie Isaac Power. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 1 p.m. to close, Saturday and Sunday, noon to close. Come enjoy some of the strongest drinks in town and the best homemade pizzas around. Whether you're stopping in to relax, meet friends, or grab a bite, the Adobe Lounge is the place to be.

SPEAKER_01

See you too.

SPEAKER_03

Welcome back, RaceFans, Watermelons, and Woodchips, presented by Central Iowa Diesel Performance. And we're still here with the most interesting man in the world. Literally. Because during the break, I found a picture of his demo derby car, and he's like, Oh yeah, I did it one time and I won. One for one. Oh yeah. Here's a Fila commercial that I was in riding a bike. So I mean, pretty awesome story, to be honest with you. Like, um when you end up here.

SPEAKER_10

It's been uh it's been a fun life. Right. Now I'm uh it's crazy watching on TV, like all the people out here racing, and then being able to race against them and yeah, people like Todd and Mills and just everybody really.

SPEAKER_07

Who's your so who's a guy that you see either on the lineup sheet or right in front of you, and you're like, yeah, this is gonna be a blast? Like just fun? Yeah, just let's go. Like it makes your hair stand up.

SPEAKER_10

I like racing against against Todd because I I can trust him. Um Malika, it's fun to race with because we've raced each other a lot, and we know I know when he throws a slider on me, he's not gonna kill me. So I can I can do what I can to try to pass him on that. And then And he's not very good at him either, so you can usually drive it back underneath the side. The more you do, the more you can practice though, which is good. And Boone is probably the best place to do sliders at because it it the whole place just sets up for it.

SPEAKER_12

Yep. Yep. Okay, you gotta be careful though. They'll give you. Just depends on who's sitting up there in the booth that night, folks.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I'm just in to to kind of not to jump off that, but I was just looking at this, you know, this point sheet that popped up on your Facebook page. Like, you know, you have Dotson, Laney, Kellen Chadwick, Troy Folger, like you. Like, that's a pretty good list of names.

SPEAKER_10

There's a lot of good dudes in California.

SPEAKER_03

Actually, my son is named after Kellen Chadwick. Oh really? Yes. Yeah, I thought that was the coolest name ever. Like Kellen Chadwick was the coolest name in the world to me when I was growing up and I watched I just thought it was cool. I'd buy his t-shirts when I was in high school or middle school, whenever he was up here. And yep, so that's that that's where my son Kellen is named after Kellen Chadwick. Does he know that? I think so. I think so. I talked to him about it a while ago, but I haven't seen him forever. But like the yeah, like I said, just looking at this list of of names, like the transplant, the transplant, the transplant, you know, it does well at supernationals.

SPEAKER_10

It does well at supernationals, like it's Yeah, when's the last time a Midwestern won Supernats?

SPEAKER_03

Oof. In the modified?

SPEAKER_10

I think it's been seven years. Maybe Ricky, Tom, Tim, twice, Cody. Um but hold on.

SPEAKER_12

See, I I see I if you if you pussies move out here, you guys are a citizen of Iowa.

SPEAKER_10

Yes, but we still like the rep where we came from.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, I know, but it pisses me off. It doesn't piss me off. It's just like like like uh when they announce you guys' names, we're gonna be like Trevor Fritz from wherever you were in California. Camarillo.

SPEAKER_10

But I'm like You said it right. I'm like Did I really say no there? L's are not there, Camarillo, it's not that, it's Camarillo Camarillo. Camarillo, California.

SPEAKER_12

So to me though, it's like you're from you're from El Tuna. I don't know Altuna. Where do you live? Ponderant. Ponderant, okay.

SPEAKER_03

I thought you were from Tuna Town.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, he always said that you were from Tuna Town, so that's just what I went with. But you know what I'm saying? Like, like Dylan Thornton's lived here for five years, and they still say Orchid, California. It's like, no, he is lives in Keystone, Iowa. He's lived here for five years. Like, he can get a hunting license, he can get food stamps, he can get whatever, you know. Like, I mean, he's here. So no different than Cody Laney. You know, Ethan Dotson only moved out here for I don't even know if he moved out here.

SPEAKER_10

No.

SPEAKER_12

He stayed out here with Rocky Cottle and stuff for a while, and Wayne was kind of flying him back and forth and stuff. So, like, that's a little bit different, but you guys legitimately moved here. So uh in the first year, okay, I can see it, but now you guys like we don't get that grace period anymore? No more grace period from Bob Cow. Just saying.

SPEAKER_07

But a true born and raised here is is kind of what you're getting at. Like, who's the last true born and raised like guy to win the modified? And what would have been?

SPEAKER_03

What's that?

SPEAKER_07

Who would it have been?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, on here? Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

It would have been whoever won it, I think, before Ricky.

SPEAKER_03

No, that was Dotson. Uh Ike won it in 2018.

SPEAKER_12

There you go. And then Richie Gustin won it in 2017. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

So dude, you know what though? Like you look at this. Did the all the moving change it? Like if we would have if the movers would have waited a year, would it have been another Midwesterner?

SPEAKER_03

Man, I'm like I'm looking. So I didn't know that. Good, good.

SPEAKER_12

It's a really that's a good one.

SPEAKER_03

Interesting. I didn't know that. The animal Jeff Taylor. I mean, is the Arkansas Arkansas?

SPEAKER_07

Used just to transplant in Arkansas. That's close to it.

SPEAKER_10

I count that as Midwest.

SPEAKER_03

You do, okay. Well, so then Strickler wins 2014, 2015, Ricky wins 2016, and then you have Richie and Jeff, Ikey, 2017, 2018, Dotson, Ricky, Laney, TBJ, T Dub, Dilly, Timmy again. Yeah. Well West Coast. But it's a West Coast. It's inter it's interesting. There it is.

SPEAKER_07

Didn't even have to try.

SPEAKER_03

It's interesting. They have so they have Timmy listed as Harcourt, Iowa in 2023, but they have Timmy listed as Mesa, Arizona in 2025.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Good on him. Dilly listed as Santa Maria, California in 2024. But TBJ is listed as Des Moines in 2022. That's what I'm saying. See, so it's it's a mix-up. Right. But like I said, I don't consider TBJ like uh he's not from there.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, he's Oregon.

unknown

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Medford. Yeah. TBJ?

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. Yep. Yep.

SPEAKER_10

So he's fast this year. He's got something figured out. Him and Todd. But he's chicken farmer. Yeah, he is.

SPEAKER_12

Ever since he got married to the neighbor bud, she turned him into a bird flopper.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

And he loves it. I mean, he picked up the dad shoes. He's been rocking the new. You don't know if he's gonna mow or tune a carburetor. That's what I'm saying, buddy. Shows up to the track with a can of flop in the top, right? And I'm like, man, it's like you've been on the motorcycle all day. He goes, Oh, dude, I love it. It's great. He's got the cutoff shorts like what Roach used to wear back in the late 90s. Yes, he does. One thing he's missing is the tall socks and the Martin Brown work boots, but I'm telling you. Oh man, he's got it. It's all about those new balances.

SPEAKER_03

The new balances and the jorts. Yeah. He's going for it. He's probably got a chain drive wallet or something going on.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, he needs the belt clip phone deal.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. He's like a janitor where he's got the retractable keychains.

SPEAKER_10

All the keys. Badgin to Tomberry Motorsports over there in Marshalltown. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Gotta bagging. Um that's that is hilarious, actually. Um, but anyway, let's move on to the unboxing. So I saw this uh box. I cut it open so we didn't have to spend a bunch of time on it, but I saw who it was from. Let me see who it's from. So I'm gonna say that you need to open it.

SPEAKER_12

Can you read? Yeah. VT's 3D print. George, Iowa.

SPEAKER_07

You want to guess what's in it?

SPEAKER_03

Just open the button.

SPEAKER_12

It doesn't smell funny. It looks funny. It's got Cam Rhymer's number on it.

SPEAKER_10

So it's a winner because he won last night.

SPEAKER_12

Boys! Wow. Whoever this is, I'm gonna need your contact info. Because if it is what I think it is, because I just opened it up and seen through the bubble wrap, I mean, I'm already these You might be you might be both armed gooseies.

SPEAKER_08

Dude, holy shit. Who did this? Who is this guy?

SPEAKER_03

The uh is it Vandop? Dylan Vandon?

SPEAKER_08

I don't want to say it wrong. I think you're probably right. Holy shit. I don't even want to. I mean, like, fuck up. Look at it.

SPEAKER_12

He's very oh my goodness. This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Right now, okay.

SPEAKER_07

You know, I saw him emotional in his interview the other night. We might see that again. Dude, that is cool as shit.

SPEAKER_12

It's the straightest my car's been all year.

SPEAKER_11

Wow.

SPEAKER_12

That is crazy. I'm glad that this guy and gal, Allison and Dylan, VT's 3D prints. Okay, but I'm gonna need 53 of these for my sponsorship.

SPEAKER_07

You're gonna pass that thing around here.

SPEAKER_12

We're gonna take a look at the I don't want you guys touching it. Well, no, I'll be careful. I'm kidding. It's even got aluminum wheels.

unknown

Nope.

SPEAKER_12

They look like aluminum wheels. They even got the Hoosier on there. Uh the tailpiece looks about like it normally does, stickers ripped off, rubbed up, rough. Check it out, but it's got scrape marks all over it. That's who did that. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh, she rolls. That is cool as shit. Uh, yeah, that's that's got the right stance, right heights, and everything on it. Yeah, the right height gates that come with the games.

SPEAKER_03

It's a good thing you're not on Facebook because they posted a picture of this thing nine hours ago on their Facebook page.

SPEAKER_10

Seriously? It's got a full containment and everything in it.

SPEAKER_12

Dude, that is so cool. Does it have my cool naked lady shifter in there? It does not. We'll do that on the next one. Wow.

SPEAKER_07

Check it out. This is bad. That's even got posse, man. She's the thing's ready.

SPEAKER_12

That is really cool. She's got nineteens on the front or twenty.

SPEAKER_07

I think you're looking at nineteens.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, it did look a little small. Twenties are bigger.

SPEAKER_07

Like the Mike Nichols. She's been in the oven and they baked it.

SPEAKER_12

That is so bad at Did Chris who wrapped it? That's really cool. I think they did. They got now. Wait a minute. Were you in on this and didn't know about it? We've been friends for 37 years and you knew about this the whole time. I didn't know about this. Bud. That's badass. He's a good Christmas gift giver. And he does apparently doesn't tell secrets. He doesn't. That's a good one to keep. That's it. Bud, I am like wow. That's really neat. Okay, so uh if anybody wants this cool shit, this, these are the people. They don't have a phone number on there. But here, I think you can find it. Can you check it? It's hiked.

SPEAKER_07

Look, it's hiked in the back. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

That actually. That looks like my car did Saturday night right before I stepped on my. Is there a banana peel in here? Yeah. Right before I stepped on the old night crawler.

SPEAKER_07

The night crawler, yeah. I did like that on the phone. By the way, yeah, that was really good. Turn that thing around and look at the left rear. Like it's she's hiked. Like it's that's badass.

SPEAKER_03

That is badass. VT's 3D prints on Facebook. Um Dylan Ray Vanden top.

SPEAKER_10

They might get busy here. Hey, you know what?

SPEAKER_03

You guys got I don't want to give the phone number out on the show, but if you go to the Facebook page, VT's 3D Prints, there is a phone number on their website. There you go. Or on their Facebook page.

SPEAKER_07

Dude.

SPEAKER_03

Um I needed one.

SPEAKER_12

I guess so. Somebody's not gonna sleep so I'm gonna need their address and stuff because I think we're gonna have to we're gonna seriously, I'm I'm cranked up right now.

SPEAKER_10

Battle bottles full, crayons are sharp, we got toy cars.

SPEAKER_12

Yes, that is so cool. So cool. Yeah, it is I'm gonna need their uh information because I think they're due for a couple of bobcat shirts on that one, folks. Holy moly.

SPEAKER_07

That's pretty neat.

SPEAKER_03

That's super cool.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like you said, yeah, yeah, you look at it, the thing the nose is tucked. Like it's I want to know how they got my red heights. She's in red well, I notebook, bud. Somebody's something somewhere. I got an insider. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Did you get a hold of Ducky on that?

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_07

Okay. What buddy?

SPEAKER_03

I I don't I don't want to quit touching it. Not the first time he said that today.

SPEAKER_07

But in this situation, that thing's badass. It's even got gauges in it. Okay. It's literally like ready to race. That's really cool. Really, really cool.

SPEAKER_10

Can you imagine if someone got him like a street sock RC car? Oh, I got but so. He didn't boon ripping laps. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah. Wow. That this thing is going. Nope, I'm going right here. I was gonna say, yeah, put her up on the table. We we put the shelves up, but my shit's going right here. As it should.

SPEAKER_11

Okay. That's really cool. With the pretzel bag.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. This is what we deal with here. Man. Followed it. I followed it.

SPEAKER_12

I'm gonna share the Well, can you tag me in it? Or did they tag me in it and you just didn't tell me?

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_12

Uh Wow. I am I am ecstatic.

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_10

SPEAKER_10

Because I know that they've got some hair clip deals.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. 25% off mini replicas on July 4th. You got a few days. You better give him a shout out.

SPEAKER_12

Sis is gonna be dialed in on a hair clip guaranteed. I'll be getting a couple dad points on that one. She's over there shaking her head. Yours is too short. She will if it's got her dad's race car on it. Some of these hair clips.

SPEAKER_10

The snapshots of your daughter are awesome. Right. Some of these hair clips are awesome. Those are hair clips.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, turn that thing around, show Bobcat. You gotta put it on TV. Put it on TV.

SPEAKER_12

Aren't you guys hooked up to the TV?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, we are. Get ready. Way to come in, Garrett. Nope, I don't know what I did there, but wow.

SPEAKER_12

That is pretty sweet.

SPEAKER_02

Is that Jeff wear? I think. Is it? It might be. Yeah, it probably is. I don't know, but she's got a blackhead on her right rear there. Oh my gosh. Next shot.

SPEAKER_12

Wow, those are cool. I have seen Taylor wearing her Chasbaka one. I wondered where she got it.

SPEAKER_07

Now you know.

SPEAKER_12

Now I know. So I wonder how the shooter. That is Dudley. Look at the wheels are shining, guys. Yeah. Come on. Holly.

SPEAKER_07

Pretty cool.

SPEAKER_03

I what BZ knew about it too, obviously. So he's always been good at that.

SPEAKER_12

I wonder if that was. Allison and Dylan, I want to tell you, I can't like I feel like I'm smiling too much on him. Not even shitting you. Like, this is the coolest thing. This is now the coolest package we've gotten. Sorry to everyone that sent in cool stuff. This is like the coolest thing. That's pretty neat. I didn't even know that they could do the 3D. I mean, I know the 3D print thing's gone a long way, but that. People, right here, this is something so cool you can give your sponsors. Support another race car business. Get these to your sponsors. This is something, well, you can get it for your kids too, to play in the sandbox with. Doesn't matter. But this right here, we did the I uh we did the pullback cars last year. They're a lot smaller. They're super cool. But this 124 scale, um, gonna be front and center, probably for episode 85 all the way through. Um but this thing is so badass. Uh Brian Zeeem uh also Hey, he done the same thing he did on my cars. Yeah, the backwards sticker, he's got the little wood one backwards. Peak is always good. BZ does a great job. But Allison and Dylan, holy shit. I'm gonna message your Facebook page as soon as we get off the show here and get them t shirts shipped out to you. Holy moly.

SPEAKER_07

Damn. He's in a whole different mood now than you.

SPEAKER_12

I am. That is so cool. The uncovers, I mean, that's a BG. Kind of got it all. I know. I just got weird on you guys there for about seven and a half minutes.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, so now that's that is awesome. That's neat. Wow.

SPEAKER_07

I hate to change the subject, but we should probably talk about the question of the week.

SPEAKER_12

We should talk about the um question question of the week. What a great question.

SPEAKER_07

It was a good question. Kind of a random question. It got a little deep. It got a little deep. And it's it's a good one, though.

SPEAKER_12

It is a good one. Um go for it.

SPEAKER_07

You're the one that you go for it. You texted it to me.

SPEAKER_12

I well, I know. Well, I got I thought you guys went MIA for a minute. It was like everybody was like, What are we gonna do for the question of the week? And I'm like, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. And I'm like, are you guys here? I'm like at Power Blade. What's going on? Nobody's fighting. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I'm like, uh, sorry guys, I took a nap after the baseball game.

SPEAKER_12

And uh, we're not gonna talk about what I said I was doing, but uh it was you know, just having a good Sunday afternoon. I knew that all you guys were gonna be like, oh my gosh. Somebody asked me today. We were I cut a safe open today, and they're like, Oh, uh, one of my buddies, Nick Zelmer, posted a picture of them putting tin up in a building, and I'm like, oh man, that looks super hot. I'm like, yeah, I'm just out here cutting this safe open, and it's hotter than the Kid Rock concert downstairs right now. We're gonna lick a wind inside of this building, but we got the safe cut open. So it's good. We didn't ruin anything in it. It was good, but I'll tell you what. The next couple days they extended that heat extension. Is Stuart racing Wednesday? Thursday. They are okay. So oh yeah, that's right, because of the Midwest Madness tour. Yep. Right on, right on.

SPEAKER_07

Yep, the Ron Little Memorial.

SPEAKER_12

The Ron Little Memorial on Thursday.

SPEAKER_07

I will be there with Kristen.

SPEAKER_12

I will not be there.

SPEAKER_07

I didn't figure. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

I'm gonna pull a hundred pretty normal.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I'll be there when it happens.

SPEAKER_12

That is one of my that is one of my favorite shows to go to. Um, however, I do. I've screwed up. I think Robert Moses is gonna be angry with me. I was supposed to give him my number the last two weeks. He's got a couple projects for me, and I got busy and I forgot. Oh, yeah. But I know he listens to the show. I have not forgot about you, Robert. Uh, and I will get your project. Um but uh Elmquistwing question of the week. If you could design a dream track, any shape, any size, or location, what would it be and why? That was the question. Um we kind of loaded it a little bit, like why, when, where, who, but uh got some interesting responses from that. Yeah. Um go ahead, Josh, I'll let you elaborate on that.

SPEAKER_07

Well, there was a lot of let's move boon to here, let's move boon to there. I thought that was interesting.

SPEAKER_12

I thought that that was super cool because so many people bitch about it, myself included. But they but they love it.

SPEAKER_07

When you when they're comparing it to another place, like for instance, one of them said move boon speedway to Las Vegas. You know, and I think that's uh the dirt, the I was that was gonna be my question.

SPEAKER_12

Is it the dirt? Yeah, is it the what is it about Boone Speedway that people love so much? That should be that should be another question.

SPEAKER_10

Well, long straightaways and tight corners. Yeah, yeah, that's what it is. Well, it makes sense double drag ships. Yeah, it makes you uh get on the brakes, it makes you actually drive the car. It's different than places that are just a big circle where you're just momentum racing.

SPEAKER_12

So the transplant put his two cents in on that.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. Well, and he said earlier it's a perfect slide job track.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, it creates set up. It creates crazy shit.

SPEAKER_12

It it does do that a lot.

SPEAKER_07

Um for me, it's the sight lines. It doesn't matter where you're at at that place, you can pretty much see everything. Yeah, like whether it's the catwalk, the grandstand, front row, top row, it doesn't matter. It's just there's all the things.

SPEAKER_12

I was gonna say, I think the thing that steps out the most for me at Supernationals was A, back in the early 90s and stuff, the titty shows at Supernationals were the best. Okay, they were I mean, they they really were, and it was like and it because it wasn't filled with a bunch of drama, it was just like you were there, just wild. Holy shit. I remember uh one year there was a gal in a pink swimsuit on the top of my dad's rig on the back stretch because they were pulling motors. I come pulling up through, I'm just like she was dressed, sure, but I was just like, I love the races so much. But my favorite thing about the racetracks is the catwalks. Uh-huh. There ain't no other racetrack in the country that has catwalks like the Boon Speedway.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_12

No. Um, and even at Supernationals, those change because they bring in some extra catwalk stuff. Um it was really disappointing when they cut the big chunk of catwalk out of the out of the uh staging area. Um they did it for good reason. They were gonna have sprint cars, you know, and on a weekly basis and basist. Uh weekly basis.

SPEAKER_03

I did I did watch a Led Zeppelin documentary. Speaking of basist. But they put that back in.

SPEAKER_07

Uh and it's got a big sign on it that you've probably familiar with.

SPEAKER_12

I took full advantage of that when that opportunity came about. So did Jimmy Gus.

SPEAKER_03

The best part about that was the first two text messages I got when they put the concrete pole back in was Jim and Jonathan.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. That was happening. Yeah. Who's got these signs?

SPEAKER_12

Right, but it's just it's just really cool. That that's what you don't go to very many racetracks. Now, there are other racetracks that have catwalks, which are you know, are unique. You know, Marshtown's got the the connex box with the fenced in area on the top.

SPEAKER_10

There's a uh there's a track in California right now that kind of came back, Santa Maria. They have like the grandstands are up top. You can walk down this thing, and there's a separate area, part of the grandstands basically, but it's in the pits. Oh, really? They have a fire pit, they have like the fence, all the cars stage right in front of it. They have connex boxes down there with food, a bar. So everyone in the stands can basically go into the pits, hang out.

SPEAKER_03

It's the east coast is that way too. Interesting.

SPEAKER_10

Like, it created an entire like that place used to be dead, and now it's it's basically packed every weekend, and there's there's stuff to do, so hopefully it's helping out there.

SPEAKER_03

When I live when I lived on the east coast, like um Port Royal was that way, you could you could go in the pits and have a designated area area in the in the infield. Um Williams Grove had the bridge, obviously you could go back and forth, and then they had a deal where I think they had a spot in turn one where you like could go under the racetrack, like so you could go in there. Um yeah, there's Lincoln was that way. Like a lot of the places on the East Coast, you have a designated just fan zone in the infield. Which is pretty cool.

SPEAKER_12

Is Boon Speedway gonna ever get catwalk to go all the way around the racetrack? Well, that's three and four left.

SPEAKER_10

That's what I was thinking about for Santa Maria, because they have they have a great opportunity to go from their regular grandstands, go over, kind of like Boone does on the back stretch, over staging and around three and four for half of it be for the fans and half of it be for the pits.

SPEAKER_08

And I mean that'd be cool.

SPEAKER_10

Like if Boone can do that where they could maybe go around four a little bit, but they might get hit by a flying mod light or something.

SPEAKER_12

They they never get to turn three catwalk.

SPEAKER_03

They have. Yeah, I was insane. I wouldn't say never. I've seen that happen before.

SPEAKER_07

It has happened, but it's it rarely that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_12

Yes, it we've seen the guy that ended up in the crick. Okay, that however long ago that was. That was nasty. I was insane white. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that was nasty. What do you do?

SPEAKER_03

Imagine if you were a quarter mile away from the racetrack in a tent and all of a sudden your shit's getting wiped out.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, next thing you know, you got a four-barrel carburetor on the firewall laying upside down in the crick.

SPEAKER_07

Well, I think it's Hank. Like in the video, like he just all of a sudden he's in the car. He's like, You alright? I mean, it was wild. Wild a crazy ride. Wild. Um, yeah, I don't know. That could be something down the road.

SPEAKER_12

But uh, these questions on here build another boon speedway right next to the current one.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

No, you know, Boon 2.0. I mean, remember when they started all that? I mean, man, uh IA or AI is such an awesome thing. Um but uh I I say my dream track uh I mean I'm just gonna go ahead and say it is, and it's because I've had so much success there and it's right in my backyard. But uh my dream track is the Boon Speedway. I mean it's gotta be. Did you lose your phone? Oh, yep. It's all right. Went for a ride. It's the old tipper. I I do. Just because you know what I'm saying? Like, I I've been to a ton of racetracks, and there's a lot of cool racetracks, but none of them really mat like but it's different too. That's kind of a loaded thing because if you go out in the East Coast, it's late models and sprint cars and shit like that. So I can't really say. So for Midwest, my favorite place to be is Boone Speedway. Sure.

SPEAKER_10

I think for me, it's 34.

SPEAKER_12

34. I've never raced at 34 raceway.

SPEAKER_10

Long straightaways, tight corners, and it's it's fun.

SPEAKER_12

Is it is it a half it's a half mile.

SPEAKER_10

I run the same gear as Marshalltown there.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, really?

SPEAKER_10

But uh you're on the chip like at the flag stand, right? Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Okay.

SPEAKER_10

If that were halfway down there, their flag stands actually almost going into one.

SPEAKER_12

I've I've actually heard that a lot about 34 waste rate, is that it is an awesome facility.

SPEAKER_10

It's insane. Actually, clean, paved.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, I got I got a message today. They're having a big show July 2nd, it's gonna be $1,500 to win for mods, sport mods, and stock ours.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, and mod I I went last year and no one paid to get in except the crew members. Well the grandstands are free, all the drivers are free.

SPEAKER_12

That's pretty cool. Check out 34 Raceway race fans. Uh, July 2nd, got a big show coming up down there. Paying some good money. Obviously, probably gonna have some fireworks down there. Being it is the 4th of July weekend. Speaking of that, though, too, we've got some shit going on at the racetrack this weekend. Now, you guys gonna have the races done before the fireworks show, or we're gonna have to shut it down and then get going again. That's the plan.

SPEAKER_03

Hopefully, the plan is to have everything done. Yep. I'm hoping to be done by 10 o'clock. So one set of features for Saturday night then to to to accommodate that schedule? I would I don't know that for sure, but I'm guessing that's probably the way they're leaning.

SPEAKER_12

I think probably we should have a vote on that. And uh, why don't everybody get on the watermelon's wood chips uh Facebook page and put their two cents in on that for the 4th of July? We know that the 4th of July uh the racetrack hosts the fireworks show.

SPEAKER_03

So yes. So we're not doing the Eve of destruction just because we have we can't add what? No, no Eve just races. Yep, just races. What? You're not gonna have enough time.

SPEAKER_10

If they do it next year, you guys gotta get something. Watermelon's a wood chips van.

SPEAKER_12

And Bobcat Bobcat's driven the RV, but he's done her before. I jumped over eight cars. I'm not doing it again. You could do it.

SPEAKER_07

I went to the chiropractor for six months after that. We can get we can get you rigged up with a better rig. You know, like the like when you drop the egg off the building. Bubble. Oh, yeah, right. Yeah, we'll figure something out.

SPEAKER_12

Oh, hey, you guys. So these people came up to me Saturday night. They've got it. Did they talk to you too, Cody, about the Boon Speedway 1992 crash video VHS deal? No. Yeah. This gal, I don't know her name, her, and I believe it's her son. I could have murdered that, but it was a younger guy that was with her. They have a video, a VHS video that's 1990 or 1992 that's got it just says car wrecks from racetracks. Okay. And she believes my dad's on there. She wasn't for sure, but they found it in their stuff. They listened to the show, and they're like, Would you guys be inner? I'm like, Bring it over. And she's like, Would you have a VHS player? And I in the heat of the moment. I'm like, Yeah. Even though I don't know how to do one. Yeah. Any of us have a VHS player. I'm pretty sure I do. I've got one. I knew Josh did. Farm Kid keep like that. Oh yeah. So so then this is about Randy keeping everything, but now he's got it.

SPEAKER_07

Actually, it works.

SPEAKER_12

Oh so then, remember when I brought up that we need to do uh the sumo wrestling bouncy ball boots? Yes. They have six of them and they're willing to donate them to the racing. No way. Yes way. Oh sumo suits? The sumo. Yeah, the bells.

SPEAKER_10

I I always I always thought if two drivers wanted to fight, they gotta put them in those on the front stretch and let them go out.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, but the ball.

SPEAKER_07

It's the ball that goes all the way around the ball.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, that'd be even better, yeah. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I've seen I sent the can mean Savan crash into each other. We see we hadn't even talked about that. The start of the whole thing. Right, what'd you say? Right foot to the left? Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

I never said one word to you that night.

SPEAKER_12

But it's because dynamite comes in small packages. He looks small, but I'm telling you. He's got one hell of a single leg on him. I'm telling you. Have you seen him lately? I mean, he's got a couple 16-inch softballs on his arms. I ain't shitting you. That's so funny. Jerry Flippo about found out what they were about two weeks ago while I was at Harris class, actually.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, he had a special camera on the car. That's right. That's actually kind of a neat.

SPEAKER_12

That is a pretty cool deal. Little 360 out from there on the case. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Under yellow? Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, Lizzie tells the kids that's the kid that don't like daddy.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's funny. Uh, one thing I wanted to talk about. Uh, Emily stopped me. Um, the mods for Mindy deal. Did she talk to you about it? The what? The mods for Mindy deal at Denison on Friday. Yes.

SPEAKER_10

That's where I'll be.

SPEAKER_12

Yes. Yes, they actually, Jake Socco uh he sent me a message and said, What do you get up on the wheel, pussy? Finally on Friday night over March on, because he's he's a top runner, and I'm not that great at the top, but I've been getting her and I'm like, it's uh thousand win at Denison Hand or the Crawford County.

SPEAKER_10

No, it's uh 15 for modified.

SPEAKER_12

It's but it's it is it at Interstate 39 or is it 39 speed?

SPEAKER_10

Reving it up at 39.

SPEAKER_12

39, yeah. Reving it up at 39 speedway. Please, have you ever been there? No. Okay, you're gonna want to take uh face mask or nosebuds or something because you're gonna be smelling pepperoni all night.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, because a million dollars smell good over there. There's a meat plan over there. Yeah, I do some work over by one in Des Moines.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, yeah, I know the smells. But the racetrack uh over there, they've been working hard on it, is from what I hear. Uh, it's been putting up some pr some decent racing. Their grandstands, when you pull in there, are you're gonna be like, holy shit. I mean, it's huge, beautiful grandstands.

SPEAKER_10

I looked at it from just Google Maps, it looks pretty big.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, the only thing that they're really missing that could really set that place over is a scalp haters and ham, like they used to have.

SPEAKER_07

I was gonna ask you.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because I know that was the thing. I'm just saying Emily, we need we need some work on some scalp haters and hams. So um, but she gave me a little thing here, obviously. Um said Mindy had a passion for racing and and spirit that inspired everyone around her. Um, after a courageous battle with breast cancer, her legacy continues to live on through the racing community she loved so much. Um she was her uncle and cousin's biggest fan. For those who knew Mindy, you know how important this race is, and those who don't let someone don't who does tell her story and let's see everyone at Highway 39 Speedway on Friday, July 3rd. Um so yeah, sponsored by Finish Line Racing Products, which is Joe and Craig Reetz.

SPEAKER_12

They're a big, big part of this event. Couple of racers just doing racer stuff for their racer friends. So thank you, Craig, and everyone involved with this big show going on over at 39 Speedway, which is super cool.

SPEAKER_03

Um, and then Jerry'll have stuff going on Friday.

SPEAKER_12

No, they're not racing this Friday. No, they're they're taking this Friday off because of the fair stuff going on. So they will be back the day after my birthday. You pussies are gonna I'm you guys are gonna miss my birthday. Wait, hang on. Was it when's the hot dog contest? That's the night of the birthday. Dollar hot dogs. Jerry's gonna be swallowing them suckers whole, guaranteed. Lengthwise. Lengthwise. Oh yeah, for sure. Dollar natty lights. So my brother-in-law, I know he's gonna be over there. You got dollar tall tall boy natty lights over at the Marshall or at the uh what's that county? Marshall County, Marshall County. Marshall County Fairgrounds over there on the east.

SPEAKER_03

Marshall County Central Iowa Fairgrounds. Isn't it Central Iowa Fairgrounds? It could be.

SPEAKER_12

It's not really Central Iowa. Boone is. Oh, true. But anyway, couple uh a ton of great events coming up over the next month of racing. Well, pfft we can't even not talk about it. The Midwest Madness Tour. Why do we not have that on right now?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_12

They are racing right now, or did it get rained out? I don't know. They raced last night in Worthington, Minnesota, and they are in Spencer, Iowa tonight, and they go to Park Jeff. Park Jeff Tuesday night, which is also the memorial race that Matt uh he's headed over there. He won that last year, and then they will be Wednesday at the Beaver.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, that place is fun too. The Beaver's always fun, bud.

SPEAKER_12

I ain't never met a beaver I ain't had fun with. Uh and Thursday night, we're hitting up the Stuart International Speedway for the Ron Little Memorial, which is one of my favorite events. I'm really bummed out we're gonna miss it this year. Okay. That ain't good. But uh, and then that ends Friday night. That's the finale. The finale is at Stuart International Speedway. So um good luck to all those drivers out there. That uh Midwest Madness Tour always pulls in a ton of talent, uh, a ton of racers all across the United States. And like I said, we man, I mean, we got the Midwest Madness Tour this week. Next week, we got the North Dakota Tour. We come back from the North Dakota tour, and then we're in Nebraska, we're back in Iowa, we got Lucas Oil, and then shortly after that, July 18th, we've got the freaking flow night in America at America's bucket list track at Marshtown. This diecast really got him wound up. There's just a ton of racing going on. I mean, come on. Is there foil in that thing? I'd be in Mason City on floor six. Sportmod's doing a little dancing and driving around there. Klisma. Kleinsma. Klisma. Kleinsma. Willie Kirk. Fat Woodard. Andrews. Montag. Reimers in the top ten. Who's leading? Kleinsma. Kleinsma. He's pretty good up in space. He is pretty good up his space.

SPEAKER_03

Also, speaking of that July. The July 10th deal is the rescheduled capital sign.

SPEAKER_12

Topless race at Derek. Topless race, yes, that's right. I forgot that. Rodney and Cade announced that Friday night at Marshall Town.

SPEAKER_03

So things coming up at Moon, obviously 4th of July. No Eva Destruction, regular races, but we do have we partner with the city on lighting the fireworks off. So if you guys where he parks, can't park.

SPEAKER_10

I don't think I'll be there this weekend.

SPEAKER_07

Oh down the road, everything east of there.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

You won't be able to park back.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah. So basically uh people, if is when you pull on the pit gates there, anything to your right, all the way to Motorsports Warehouse, just keep on going. And don't be thinking you're gonna come down and pit in my area because we'll fight about it. You're gonna be there Saturday? No. Yeah, so you're going to the Dakota. But I've got a camera set up down there, so I know where I'm gonna do it. Are you gifting that spot? I'm not gifting it. Fitzsi, if you want a pair cranny, you can go ahead. Oh, see you there. Spot 51, how much you want to give? I'll do to give 25.

SPEAKER_10

Todd Zillow said I could pit next to him.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah. Well, Todd's pretty close. Todd has to clear that with me because those are my spots.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

I got five of them.

SPEAKER_10

Big dog.

SPEAKER_12

No, I don't. My dad does.

SPEAKER_07

Four.

SPEAKER_02

No, five.

SPEAKER_12

Sure?

SPEAKER_02

Uh 50?

SPEAKER_07

This is gonna get awkward. To 55. That's five. Actually, 50, including 50 and 55. That would be six.

SPEAKER_10

Six. That's right. Zero.

SPEAKER_07

Got no idea. That's right. That's right.

SPEAKER_10

We do math good. We do out here in the Midwest, buddy. Yep.

SPEAKER_07

We're not. What's the saying? We're not good.

SPEAKER_12

We're not good readers, but we're good picture lookers. That's right. So we are the couple of tasks we have over this course of this week. We need to find out what uh where Kurt Knehouse teaches school at. So maybe we need to have a field day with Kurt Kneehouse. If he's the art teacher, how come we haven't got one race car painting from him or any of his kids? Okay.

SPEAKER_07

I could be totally off on that. You could be totally off.

SPEAKER_12

He's probably like the orchestra teacher or something.

SPEAKER_07

I'm going to text him right when this is over. Yeah. Kurt, what do you teach? Right.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I think he doesn't he teaches in Marshalltown, right? Oh, he does?

SPEAKER_12

I think so. He might. You know what he his response is going to be? I try to teach Rachers the IMCA rules every weekend.

SPEAKER_07

That's and none of them. I think you are listening so stubborn.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. In 2017, he got a regional art educator award. Josh was right. Thank you. That's awesome. Thank you very much. Honored by National Art Educators Association. Very cool. Kurt Knehouse, just one of the nicest guys.

SPEAKER_07

Seriously, Kirk's so nice.

SPEAKER_12

He's nice unless he's telling you your DQ to dock two spots. Correct. Still remember that. He's still nice about it. Yep. Um that's awesome. Guys, we kind of we we went through the Elmquest towing question of the week. We talked about some of these cool ass race car drivers. Now we need to get into uh the Adobe Lounge Top Shelf Power Rankings. Oh, yeah, you got them on here, right? We do have them on here.

SPEAKER_07

They are uh they're up for discussion.

SPEAKER_12

June has basically reshaped all these, and I want to know whoever reshaped it because I think it's bullshit.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. Um you say that every week.

SPEAKER_12

Right.

SPEAKER_10

I do say that every week.

SPEAKER_07

If you picture the banana peel right next to your car, uh, sliding right out of the power rankings because you're not in there this week at all.

SPEAKER_03

I know. That's fine. So did you say banana peel sliding you right out of the power? Yeah, he did. That's pretty awesome.

SPEAKER_07

I'm not an announcer, but I stayed at a holiday in once. Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Guess what? My power rankings went right to the top of the charts at Cassuth. Yes, they did. And Marshalltown. So kick rocks.

SPEAKER_07

I don't think anybody's touching you at Classooth. I think you got that place wound up. Every time you go, you win. Um two for two up there. I mean, just we are two for two up there.

SPEAKER_12

I think it's the hamburgers and the hot dogs. They're a lot better. They're good. Could be. They're good up there.

SPEAKER_07

Uh Todd Shute went to the top of the overall, which I mean he's been kind of pretty fast lately.

SPEAKER_12

So he is the overall.

SPEAKER_07

He is the overall. Yep. Um Trevor Fitz jumped up. Uh and it didn't our whole setup, it gave us we can talk about it, but it didn't give us the graphics. So I gotta get that fixed and then we'll get that posted this week. So been having some hiccups with the the graphic the last couple weeks. So we'll get her fixed. But uh Mills, obviously staying fast. Trevor's right in there. Um, Isaac Malicote, Corey Sauerman for the mods. Uh stock cars, if you're not a Smith, you're not at the top two. So uh Doug and Devin. And uh and it's funny that Dave isn't up in there, but he's he's had some off, you know.

SPEAKER_12

It's the older brother thing. He just gets the shit, you know.

SPEAKER_07

Yep, yep. Tyler Pickett, Jimmy Gustin, uh, Matthew Meinickey, and then your sport mods, Cam Reimers.

SPEAKER_12

But and how does he become the number one? See, I think this whole I think that's bogus. It's the it wasn't even there.

SPEAKER_07

It's the recency thing.

SPEAKER_12

What do you mean recency? It takes into consideration. So, okay, hold on. Let me let me let me ask this before I go hog on you. So, does it take the current week? So, like it took Saturday plus the two so did we ever figure out all it does all the weeks.

SPEAKER_07

It does all the weeks.

SPEAKER_03

But it's the recent ones are weighted higher, weighted higher for more recent weeks.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. The closer you are, the more those are I'll let you guys have it.

SPEAKER_12

Sorry, I blew up.

SPEAKER_07

Yep, no, it's all good.

SPEAKER_12

You didn't have to apologize.

SPEAKER_07

Mike Smith, Braden Shepherd, got himself up in there, and he's been running hard when he's been there. Matt Avila jumped in there, so the the airflow system is starting to get out of here. Did you guys see we went down to the tunnel?

SPEAKER_12

We did. Did you guys see I posted it today?

SPEAKER_07

That's why I asked. Were you holding the smokes in front of you for the smoke to no?

SPEAKER_12

Elon, uh, when he brought that over, uh, that's built right in there. I mean, dude, I'm telling you, the shit, the amount of air that comes off your right front nose fin and heads back to the spoiler is insane. Yeah. All right. Good to know. We're we're actually working on that. Uh, anybody listening, we're working on this airflow package. We really picked up three tenths or so in the stock car over this weekend. We will have that out for sale before Supernationals. So if you're wanting to get on the list, we do have a waiting list already. If you're wanting to get on that list, go ahead and message Josh and Cody on Facebook. They'll get with me, then I'll get with Matt, and then we'll get with Elon, and then we'll get you on the list.

SPEAKER_07

That's uh quite the setup that we got going there. But hey, I love it. Right. I think it's gonna be awesome. Tony, dude. And uh Chaz Bac is gonna be reaching out because his right front was down a little bit. That's probably what caused everything.

SPEAKER_12

It took air off the off the roof.

SPEAKER_07

It completely did. Yeah. And it added three tenths, and otherwise he might not have been where he was at.

SPEAKER_00

Correct.

SPEAKER_07

For it to happen. I'm sure Taylor's gonna stop by and give me all kinds of shit for that. So uh Hobby Socks. We got uh Wayne Gifford. Wayne's been pretty fast lately. Eric Stanton, Joe Wollenhop, uh Dylan Hill. So Dylan he popped motor hardcore Saturday night, so I'm sure it didn't help things, but he's been running pretty good. And Joe Young. Uh Joey's always he stops by and thanks me for giving a little shout out for because he's he's won a couple races this year, so it's cool to see him doing well. Uh mod lights, Josh May's got a strangle holding on it right now. Austin Gray not far behind. One footer right behind Austin, BZ. Landon Elliott gets in the top five, and Grant Anderson. Uh and Grant's been running real good lately, too. So yeah. So uh your hottest drivers basically Todd Shute, Josh May, Cam Rymers, Doug Smith, and Wayne Gifford.

SPEAKER_12

So I mean, you think those drivers are gonna keep the momentum going into July? They think they're gonna keep running. I've noticed you you can look at this, you can you can back me up on this a little bit, Fitz. Some guys are good like in the spring or in the middle, or like it's with anything you do in life. Uh running a bar or doing you like you get stats, so you can start kind of seeing like I always feel like I'm the best come August, September. And but are these drivers do you think these drivers are gonna keep that going in July, or do you think people are gonna have a couple of hiccups?

SPEAKER_10

Todd won't hiccup, I don't think.

SPEAKER_12

Todd's had a really stellar year. Yeah, you know, but you race a modified for 25 years. That's not a jab, Todd. But when you're having fun and you're running as good as they those guys are, and you you are passionate about it like those guys, you want to go to the racetrack, right?

SPEAKER_10

Yep. So and when you do good at all, it just makes it better and better.

SPEAKER_12

It makes it better and better, and they're so humble about it. And um, you know, like what Todd said in his interview, just about um you know, not wanting to get into Paul like that. He don't race like that. Todd doesn't race like that, he just races hard. And uh so to hear them, that was very, very humble of him to make that comment. And I think it just says a lot about Todd Shoot.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. I think you get this is a hot part of the year, and obviously with the corn sweat and everything else that's going on. So I it's interesting to me to see kind of how these nights roll out. You usually get some flare-ups and guys get a little little alley. Um that usually means that Cody gets to have a little conversation in the infield a few times a night, so or in the pit. There's nothing wrong with that. Nope. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

SPEAKER_03

Nope. Um I'm used to it.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, but I mean You should be by now, but after all these years, I mean, I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_07

But it's it also speaks to, you know, if guys are willing to go race in weather like that, like passion. You gotta expect it, right? Right. The passion's there, so um yeah. I'm looking forward to it. Summer gets hotter, it's usually hotter racing.

SPEAKER_12

Yep. Well, just let's just make sure that none of the racetracks are you know canceling because of heat.

SPEAKER_07

That's a tough one.

SPEAKER_12

Why is it tough?

SPEAKER_07

It's just tough. I mean and I bet you if you had a vote. We all know why that why they do it. It's because you're not you know, the thought is as well, nobody's gonna come, nobody's gonna be in the stands, we're gonna lose money. I that's where it comes from.

SPEAKER_10

It's the never-ending debate of there is a safety aspect.

SPEAKER_07

There's the safety aspect to it too. When it's like the next couple days are gonna be with the heat warnings and stuff. Um I've seen in the past where tracks move their start times back a little too much. Which is cool.

SPEAKER_12

To get during the weekend.

SPEAKER_07

It's very hard to do during the week.

SPEAKER_12

It is hard to do that during the week, but right. Sometimes, you know what? Sometimes you just gotta do that, and people people will still they'll either appreciate it or be like, ah it's a double-edged sword. You you you win and lose a lot of that kind of shit.

SPEAKER_07

Can't make everybody happy.

SPEAKER_12

Correct. I agree. Um, I tell you what, what everybody needs to be watching for is the fact that watermelons and wood chips are is gonna do a free giveaway to the Lucas Oil show at the Shelby County Speedway. A couple of grandstand admission tickets. Uh we'll have Cody and Josh um put something together as far as uh go and follow something or whatever. Maybe it's uh let's go in and follow Shelby County Speedway.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

SPEAKER_12

Um give a couple of tickets away.

SPEAKER_07

Isn't that nuts? Yeah. I mean, I've seen Mike do that in the past. Obviously a smaller amount, but I saw those numbers and like it's a big chunk. I mean, you're not gonna you're not gonna pass up the win, right?

SPEAKER_10

The trophies gotta be cool.

SPEAKER_07

Of course. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_10

That's what they're going for. But then you want to win.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, but it is you know, if you finish second, it takes a sting out of it a little bit, I guess.

SPEAKER_10

Well, I get second stand on the roof. I don't care. Right. Right.

SPEAKER_07

Yep. Um and what day is that show?

SPEAKER_12

That show is it starts the 15th of July. It goes the 15th of July will be the opening night, which was qualifying for stock cars and modified and a fifteen thousand win Lucaswell show. That is on a Wednesday. Thursday is five thousand win stock cars, five thousand win modifies, and I think it's twenty thousand. Hold on.

SPEAKER_07

Because it's like fifteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth?

SPEAKER_12

Yes, the fifteenth, sixteenth, and seventeenth. Yes.

SPEAKER_07

So we're gonna do a three-day pass for two after the grandstands?

SPEAKER_12

Uh yeah, I yeah, we're gonna do a three-day pass. Sweet. That's what I say. I mean, you might we might as well, right?

SPEAKER_10

Hell yeah. That's a good stock art race.

SPEAKER_12

Okay, right here. So um so third, so that is it's fifteen thousand to win. Excuse me. I I so Wednesday night, SM SLMRA dual series ten thousand to win, IMCA late models a thousand to win, sport mods a thousand to win, qualifying for stock cars and hot stock cars and modifies. Thursday night, Lucas Oil series 15,000 to win, 5,000 as we talk about the mods and stock cars. Friday, Lucas Oil dual heat, $2,000 to win heat races. Wow. $2,000 to win for IMCA modified on Friday, $400 wins support compacts. Saturday night, Lucas Oil's Silver Dollar Nationals features, $52,000 to win, $53,000 for a second, $3,500 to start that show.

SPEAKER_04

Wow.

SPEAKER_12

Non-qualifiers race, $3,000 win, and a full hobby stock show for $1,000 win for the hobbies on Saturday night.

SPEAKER_07

So it's a four-day show.

SPEAKER_12

It's a four-day show. If you have not been down to that place, it is phenomenal racing. Um, and I think that that week is gonna be an absolute barn burner. That'll be a busy one. So what we'll do is is Log Fab will do um Wednesday, Thursday tickets to the grandstands, and then the watermelons and wood chips podcast will pick up Friday, Saturday. Yeah. So stay tuned to the what stay tuned to the page. Somebody's getting eight tickets. Somebody's getting eight tickets. Uh you gotta way to get there. Um pay attention to the page. Josh and Cody will get something spun up for that. And uh yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, pretty cool.

SPEAKER_12

It's gonna be a pretty cool event.

SPEAKER_07

Big show.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, that'd be sweet. Catch all that action on live uh on Flow Sports.

SPEAKER_12

As Dustin Jarrett, the dirt dean would say. The dirt dean.

SPEAKER_03

The dean of dirt. Yeah. Yeah, we well, we didn't know he was a dean at a school. We didn't know Fitz was on a Dairy Queen commercial. So, you know, we just got all kinds of things getting thrown at us. But other than that, I don't know, you guys got anything else? Nope. No, I think we've been done well. Right. Well, I'm waiting. You probably gotta go fix a air conditioner or something tomorrow, I'm guessing, right?

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, we got a lot to do.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I would imagine. It's pretty hot outside. But we want to thank Trevor Fitz for coming and sharing his story. Obviously, like we learned a ton about him in about the span of 15 or 20 minutes. And I'm like, wait a minute, hang on, wait. So was really, really cool to learn all that stuff. Um want to thank all of our partners, Central Iowa Diesel Performance, first and foremost. Um, Alm Quest Towing, Adobe Lounge, Moffitt's Ford for the Mayhem, Logue Fab, uh P1P Canopy, Barntown, and our newest partner, Vision Bank of Iowa. So um want to thank uh thank those guys um for all this oh Farley's as well. Yeah, got the Farley's sign down here. Um but uh I'm trying to think, is there anybody else I forgot? Oh yeah, VT's 3D Prince. Uh you made Jonathan's day, week, and maybe a year. Probably a year, yes.

SPEAKER_07

I was pretty excited about that. So yeah, appreciate sending that over to that's really cool.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Jonathan's probably gonna send. Oh I did the same thing Jonathan did. What? Forgot the cookies.

SPEAKER_12

But your ass is grass. He come walking by, he goes, I ain't giving these to you, you'll forget them.

SPEAKER_03

They're still in the freezer.

SPEAKER_07

Hey, Cody, bring them to me next time. We'll get them here, I promise. He said something to me at the pit shack about it.

SPEAKER_03

I know, and I seriously went home and I put them right in the freezer because that's what she said to do. Yep. So I did. Alright.

SPEAKER_07

Well, they'll still keep in the freezer. Will the boys stay away from them?

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah. They don't even know where they're at. They're in their garage.

SPEAKER_07

Perfect. They're hidden. We're good. We'll get to them next week. But that is pretty funny. Right. Oh, wait, we'll have them next week when he's gone. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Jonathan's not gonna get them, but we will. I told you guys that I forgot them cookies and I ate them all. That's true last time. He did tear up the other ones. No, I'll leave them in the freezer code. Sorry. We'll get it. We'll get her dialed in.

SPEAKER_07

Garrett looks extremely sad right now that you forgot the cookies.

SPEAKER_10

That's the only reason he was here.

SPEAKER_07

He doesn't know what to do.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Got him, whatever. Yeah, we're over two on the cookies, but uh third time's a charm. Yeah. And uh Braden picks up to win at the Clay County Fairgrounds. Look at that. So, anyways, all right. On behalf of myself, Josh, Jonathan, Trevor, thank you for coming and joining us. Producer Garrett, as always, um, Katie in the back for moral support and folding t-shirts. Oh, t-shirts. SPEAKER_03

Yep. So yep.

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_12

It was inherited. I've been hearing everything you guys have been saying. I'm just I'm over here selling shit. Peg leg. Craig Carlson just messages me. He's got a bent leg. Or he's got a bent leg. He's got a bent leg.

SPEAKER_07

Craig is going to love that. Oh, I know. He's gonna did you guys see his bison?

SPEAKER_12

The official peg leg. I I went up to him instantly and legitimately was like, come on, bud. Yes, he does. It says it on there. It legit says it on there. Yes.

SPEAKER_07
