He's alive. He is alive and well. Hallelujah. This is Keisha with Shining the Light Podcast with Keisha LeBrun. Thank you so much for tuning in today. What an amazing weekend. Easter is my favorite time of the year. The resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because he lives, I can live. Hallelujah. So I want to read of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but before we get there, we have to walk through Holy Week. So let's begin with Palm Sunday. What a day. So people were waving palm branches in the way. They were laying down articles of clothing for the donkey that was carrying Jesus to walk upon. They were treating him as royalty, which he is. He is the king. Hallelujah. They were crying aloud, Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest. Wow. That brings chill bumps all over me. So Palm Sunday is Jesus' triumphal entry. Jesus enters Jerusalem riding a donkey, fulfilling Zechariah 9 and 9. Crowds shout, Hosanna, and lay upon branches and cloaks on the road, a public declaration that Jesus is the Messiah. He briefly visits the temple and then leaves for Bethany. Now we're going into Monday. Monday is temple cleansing. Jesus curses a barren fig tree, a symbol of spiritual fruitlessness. He cleanses the temple, he drives out money changers and merchants, he flips over the tables, and he declares, My house will be called a house of prayer. Religious leaders begin intensifying plans to kill him. So we see things progressing very rapidly. The time has come. All part of God's plan. Now moving into Tuesday, Tuesday was teaching and confrontation. Jesus teaches extensively in the temple, confrontations with Pharisees and Sadducees, taxes, resurrection, authority. Jesus gives parables of judgment, like the tenets, the wedding feast. So in this parable in the Bible, in the Word of God, Jesus talks about there being a wedding supper, a wedding feast. And there is a closet full of wedding garments for people to put on. But some people never went to the closet and collected their garment and put it on. They were not ready for the feast, for the marriage supper. They were not clothed in the right clothing, the clothing that God provided for them, the clothing that the wedding party provided for them, they were not ready. They did not take the time to prepare, to change, to alter their presence, to alter their appearance in accordance to the wedding. The Bible tells us to put on the Lord Jesus Christ, put on his ways, put on his commandments, put on his will for our life, put these things on and walk in the newness of Christ. Jesus gives all an invitation to come to Him. He gives us an invitation to the wedding supper of the Lamb. He gives out the invitation. On Good Friday, what we're getting ready to discuss. He gives us the invitation, he gives us the instruction, the word of God. He has the outfit in the closet. We've got to put it on. We're not going to be able to stand before him in judgment and say, Lord, there was not a wedding garment for me to put on. He's going to say depart from me, ye worker of iniquity, I knew you not. Put on the garment, put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus says, Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. He tells us to come to him. He died for whosoever will, come and dine. Dine at the master's table, be fed, and be satisfied. Amen. And I just feel like saying this Whosoever will that means you. You that are listening under the sound of my voice, I'm talking to you. Jesus is talking to you. It doesn't matter where you've been, it doesn't matter what you've done. Jesus carries scars in his hands and in his feet scars in his forehead. That's how much he loves you. Don't turn him away today. During Tuesday, he delivers the Olivet Discourse, the end times prophecy. And Judas likely begins arranging betrayal on Tuesday. And here we are at Wednesday, silent Wednesday, preparation day. Little is recorded of the activity from Jesus during Wednesday. And you may be going through a silent Wednesday in your life, but hang on because Sunday's comin'. During Silent Wednesday in Bethany, Jesus is anointed with expensive perfume. Wow, and this story is so prominent in the Word of God and Jesus said it would be preached throughout the land. And this is why it's so prominent. Mary broke her alabaster box at the foot of Jesus Christ. That alabaster box held everything that Mary possessed, everything she held dear. It was her past, her present, and her future. She broke it. She gave Jesus everything. She said, Lord, here's everything. Here is all of me. I give it to you, Jesus. And Judas, Judas got mad. He had the money bags and he got upset. He said, What is this waste? What has she done? And Jesus said, What this woman has done, it's gonna be told. It's being told. I'm telling it to you today, so many years later. And it's a reminder to us. Are we giving Jesus everything? Everything that we possess, all of the empty places in our heart, all of the doors that hold hidden things behind them? Are we giving him every avenue, giving him a key to every place in our life? Are we really giving him everything? Our hopes, our dreams, our thoughts, our failures, our time, our abilities, our obedience, our passions, our interests, and our secrets that he already knows about, our emotions, our anxieties, our struggles, and our triumphs. Sometimes it's hard for us to believe that a great big God, the God of the universe of creation, and the God of our life would care about the little small details in our life, so small in the eyes of God, but so big in our life, but he cares about every single one of them because he cares about us. And he certainly cares about what we are going through. He was tempted at every point, yet without sin, because of being tempted, he is able to get us through temptation, to make a way for our escape. He knows exactly what we've been through. It does not matter what we have been through. He was tempted at all points, but he sinned not, and he can keep us from falling. And if we fall, he can pick us up. So on Wednesday, Mary anoints the feet of Jesus with her alabaster box of perfume, and that's when Judas agrees to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. That's seventeen dollars an hour time. And it's sad to say that some people are selling him out for a lot less. Thirty pieces of silver seventeen dollars. What are you selling him out for? Are you like Mary? Are you giving him everything? Or are you like Judas? The kiss of betrayal. Mary was cleaving, but Judas he was leaving. Are you cleaving or are you leaving? Lastly, the religious leaders finalized their plot, their plot to kill Jesus. So here we are at Thursday. Jesus celebrates the Passover meal called the Last Supper, institutes communion, he says this is my body, this is my blood. He washes the disciples' feet, he demonstrates servant leadership, he predicts betrayal and Peter's denial. He prays in Gethsemane and experiences deep anguish. And lastly he is arrested after Judas betrays him with a kiss. There is so much that happened on Thursday. So the Passover all the disciples met with Jesus and he broke the bread and he said, Eat, this is my body that's broken for you. And Jesus tells his disciples what things are to come. And when he speaks of betrayal, the disciples say, Is it I, Lord? Is it I? But I believe it was John, leaning upon Jesus, said, Lord, who is it? He knew it wasn't him. Praise God. He knew it wasn't him. And Judas said, Is it I? And Jesus said, Thou sayest What thou doest do quickly. And Judas dipped the sock. He ran out, and he betrayed Jesus. And during that time Jesus was showing humility by washing the disciples' feet. Simon Peter, the outspoken one, but the only one that walked out on the water by faith. And Simon Peter said to Jesus, You're not gonna wash my feet. No, he didn't want Jesus to wash his feet. He didn't want Jesus to humble himself and wash his feet. And Jesus rebuked him. And Simon Peter said, Don't wash just my feet, Lord, wash my face and I'm paraphrasing here, but Lord wash my feet, wash my face, wash my hands. And Simon Peter tells Jesus that he will not betray him. Although all leave him, he will not. But Jesus said, Peter, before the cock crows, you will have denied me thrice. And we know this story, it came to pass. And when that happened, Peter was warming himself by the fire. He was staying close to Jesus waiting to see what was going to happen, but somebody noticed Peter, and he said, You were with him. You're one of them, and he denied that he knew him. Fear gripped a hold of his heart and he denied his Lord Jesus Christ, and he did that three times, and then he heard the sound, and he ran away, and he wept bitterly. But we know the rest of the story, praise God. After Simon Peter denied Jesus three times, and Jesus was crucified, and Peter went fishing. Not fishing for men, but he went fishing for fish like he used to do before Jesus came and told him he would make him a fisher of men. But Jesus visited Peter. After the resurrection, Jesus visited Peter. Sometime during the forty days that he was here before his ascension, after the resurrection, Jesus visited Peter. Jesus asks Peter, D'a catch any fish? Peter realizes it's the Lord. He jumps out of the water by the time he makes it to the land. Jesus already has fish bacon on the fire. Then he starts the conversation and he asks Peter three times, Peter, do you love me? Peter says, Thou knowest that I love you. He says, Feed my sheep. He asks Peter, Peter, do you love me? Peter says thou knowest that I love you. Three times Jesus asks Peter if he loves him because he denied him three times. Jesus really is reaching for the prodigal. Jesus is wanting all to come to him. The backslider, the lukewarm, all of us. The one who denies him in word, deed, action, he wants you. He wants to bring you back to himself. So I got a little bit ahead of myself here. Before Jesus was crucified, he is in the Garden of Gethsemane. He is experiencing deep anguish. He is praying until his tears or in the sweat of his face is like great drops of blood. And he's saying, Let this cup pass from me. Jesus, the flesh, the human part of Jesus, did not want to suffer and die. But Jesus said, Nevertheless, thy will be done. Nevertheless, Father, thy will be done. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was praying to his Father, God in heaven, that this cup would pass from him. What was in the cup? In the cup contained my sins, your sins, your children's sins were in that cup. The sins of the world, of all humanity is in that cup. And Jesus drank the cup. The guards, the people, they came to arrest Jesus. Judas led them to Jesus. And what did Jesus say? He said, Friend? He called Judas his friend. He knew he was there to betray him, and he still referred to him as friend. And they were coming to arrest Jesus, and the servant Malchus was going to arrest Jesus, and Peter just drew his sword and cut his ear off. And Jesus reached down and picked his ear up and he put it back on, completely healed. They all witnessed that miracle. And they still took him. And now we're here. We're here on Good Friday, crucifixion day. Jesus undergoes multiple trials, Jewish and Roman authorities. He was beaten, mocked, crowned with thorns, crucified at Golgotha. Darkness covers the land. The temple veil tears. It was rent, and Jesus dies around three PM and he was buried in a tomb before sunset. When Jesus was carrying his cross, he was having to carry the cross up the hill, Gotha's hill, and he was beaten down under the weight of not only that cross but of the sins of the whole entire world. He was beaten beyond recognition. The cat of nine tails ripped off his flesh. It's not a pretty sight. It's not a painted fairy tale. He suffered pain, anguish, misery. He did it for you, friend, and he did it for me. Praise God. Jesus was struggling to carry the weight of that cross and all of humanity up that hill, and they called for a man in the crowd, Simon of Cyrene, by name. He helped carry the cross up the hill, and you know who was also in the crowd? It was his two boys, Rufus and Alexander. And you see their names and them mentioned in the Bible later on and what they done for the ministry and for Christ. It matters what you do in front of your children, what you do and say and how you act in front of your kids, it's gonna make a tremendous impact in the people that they become in the things that they do and what they allow and don't allow. The product of your children will be greatly influenced by your influence in their life. Simon of Cyrene walked about 900 miles. It took him about 30 days to get to where the Passover was taking place. Rufus and Alexander seen that commitment in their dad. Parents, let's not parent our children as do as I say, but let's parent our children as do as I do. Show them how to walk, how to talk, how to act, how to love Jesus and how to love others, and how to serve Jesus and how to serve others. Alexander became a missionary and he won hundreds of people to the Lord. On his tombstone it says, Here lies Alexander, the son of Simon of Cyrene. And Rufus won several people to the Lord. And it started long before that journey, a thirty-day journey, and that passion intensified when they seen their daddy carry the cross of Jesus up that hill. Imagine what them kids witnessed and seen. Now Jesus is on the cross, he's being crucified, nails in his hands, his feet, a crown of thorns upon his head, and there's two criminals on the right hand and on the left hand of him, and they deserve to be crucified. They're paying the debt of what they owe for what they've done. But Jesus chose to pay the debt that we owe that we couldn't pay. Amen. And the one criminal said, If you were the Lord, you would get us off this cross. You would get us down from here. But the other criminal said, Leave him alone, I'm paraphrasing. Leave him alone. We're up here because we deserve to be up here. But he has done nothing wrong. And he said, Lord, remember me. And Jesus told him, This day thou wilt be with me in paradise. Amen. And Jesus said, Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do. Let that sink in. Not one of his bones were broken when he hung upon the cross. So while he's up there, he's saving souls like the criminal that he said, You'll be with me today in paradise. And he looks down at his mother, and he looks down at John, and he tells his mother, Mother, behold thy son, and he looks to John and he says, Behold thy mother. He was already commissioning and make preparation for his mother to be taken care of. So he takes care of everything, and then he says it is finished. He bows his head and he gives up the ghost. The soldiers parted his raiment and cast lots, and the people stood beholding. When he was on the cross he was mocked. They offered him vinegar, and they said, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself, and a superscription was written over him in letters in Greek and Latin and Hebrew. This is the King of the Jews. And I know I'm backtracking a little bit here, but before Jesus was put on the cross, he was brought to Pilate. And Pilate didn't want to crucify him. Pilate wanted to release him. He found no fault in him. He offered to release one of the prisoners, which was a custom around that time, and they could have released Jesus or Barabbas. Barabbas was a thief, a murderer. And Pilate said to the people, Would you that I release Barabbas or Jesus? And they said, Barabbas, and he said, I'm paraphrasing, what would you have me do with this Jesus? And they said, Crucify him, crucify him. And to think that some of those people that were waving palm branches on Sunday were yelling out, crucify him on Friday. How many people do you know that go to church on Sunday and worship the Lord on Sunday? But they live like the devil on Monday and Tuesday, and they go back to church on Wednesday and they praise and worship the Lord, and they live like the devil on Thursday and Friday and Saturday, and Sunday rolls around. How many people do you know? Hopefully not very many, but there are some out there. They are waving their palm branches on Sunday and they're crucifying him the rest of the week. I hope that didn't sound too harsh. I love you. I do not want to offend anybody. But let's just be honest here. How are we gonna save the world unless we tell the truth? Warn people, Jesus is coming and you gotta live for him Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Yes, every moment of every day, give it to Christ. And don't allow the hypocrites to steal your praise. God doesn't deserve that. God deserves everything that you have. Give it to him. Have you ever heard the song I don't wanna be a hypocrite? I don't wanna be a hypocrite. Cause being a hypocrite's not hip. I don't wanna be a hypocrite. I think I just butchered that song, but you get what I'm saying. So back to the cross. I know I've done hit points after the crucifixion and resurrection, but I'm gonna go back here to right after the crucifixion. I'm going to read this out of Luke chapter twenty-three, we're at verse forty-four. And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all of the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the mist. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit. And having said thus he gave up the ghost. Now when the centurion saw that what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. And all the people that came together to that site, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts and returned. And all his acquaintance and the women that followed him from Galilee stood afar off beholding these things, and behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counselor, and he was a good man and a just. The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them. He was of Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who also himself waited for the kingdom of God. This man went unto Pilate and begged the body of Jesus, and he took it down and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. And that day was the preparation, and the Sabbath drew on, and the women also which came with him from Galilee followed after, and behold the sepulchre and how his body was laid. And they returned and prepared spices and ointments and rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment. Now we're at Saturday, silent Saturday. Jesus' body lies in the tomb. The tomb is sealed and guarded. Disciples mourn and hide in fear, a day of silence, waiting and uncertainty. But morning's coming. So Sunday, resurrection Sunday, Easter Sunday. The women discovered the empty tomb early in the morning. Angels said, He is not here, he is risen. As he said, Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene and later to disciples, victory over sin and death, foundation of Christian faith. Praise God. Let me just read it. I have to read it. Luke chapter twenty four. Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came into the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared and certain others with them. And they found the stone brought away from the sepulchre, and they entered in and found not the body of our Lord Jesus. And it came to pass as they were much perplexed thereabout. Behold, two men stood by them in shining garments, and as they were afraid, and bound down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen. Remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, saying, The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again, and they remembered his words, and remembered from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary, the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. Then arose Peter. Remember Peter, the one that walked on the water, the one that cut the servant's ear off, the one that denied Jesus. Then arose Peter and ran unto the sepulchre, and stooping down he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and he parted, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass. And behold, two of them went that same day to the village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about three score furlongs, and they talked together of all these things which had happened, and it came to pass that while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near and went with them, but their eyes were not holden, that they should not know him. And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another as ye walk and are sad? And the one of them, whose name was Cleopus, answering, said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty indeed and word before God and all the people, and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death and have crucified him. But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel. And beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done, yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre, and when they found not his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels which said that he was alive, and certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre and found it even so as the women had said, but him they saw not. Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken, ought not Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets he expounded unto them and all the scriptures the things concerning himself, and they drew nigh unto the village whither they went, and he made as though he would have gone further, but they constrained him, saying, Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent, and he went in to tarry with them. And it came to pass as he sat at meat with them he took bread and blessed and break, and gave to them, and their eyes were opened. And they knew him, and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, did not our hearts burn within us while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures. And they rose up the same hour and returned to Jerusalem and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, saying, The Lord is risen indeed and hath appeared to Simon, and they told what things were done in the way and how he was known of them in breaking the bread. And as they thus spake Jesus himself stood in the midst of them and said unto them, peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrightened and supposed that they had seen a spirit, and he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself, handle me and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken he showed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy and wandered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of boiled fish and of a honeycomb, and he took it and did eat before them. And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, and all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses and in the prophets and in the Psalms concerning me. Then opened he their understanding that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sin should be preached in the name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem, and ye are witnesses of these things, and behold I send the promise of my Father upon you, but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until ye be endued with power from on high. And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them. And it came to pass while he blessed them, he was parted from them and carried up into heaven, and they worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen. And guess who in the upper room was responsible for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, and under his preaching there was three thousand souls that got saved. So let's just read it. Acts chapter one verse fifteen. This is Peter's speech. And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples and said, The number of names together were about a hundred and twenty. Men and brethren, this scripture been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us and had obtained part of this ministry. Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity, and falling headlong he burst asunder in the mist, and all his bowels gushed out. Let's pause there for a minute. It's telling you what happened to Judas after he betrayed Jesus. Verse 19, and it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem, insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue Asildama, that is to say the field of blood. For it is written in the book of Psalms, let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein, and his bishopric let another take. Wherefore all these men which have accompanied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John unto the same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. And they appointed two Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justice and Matthias. And they prayed and said, Lord, thou Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, show whether of these two thou hast chosen, that he may take part of this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots, and the lot fell upon Matthews, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. Now Acts chapter two. Then chapter two The story changes and let's dive in. Acts chapter two and when the day of Pentecost was fully come. You can tell I'm a Pentecostal girl. This is where our roots are right here. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting, and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other languages as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews devout men out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together and were confounded because that every man heard them speak in his own language, and they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue wherein we were born, Parthians and Medes and Elamites and all that dwelt in Mesopotamia and in Judea and in Cappadocia and Pontus and Asia, Phresia and Pamphylia and Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, and we do hear them speak in our tongues and wonderful works of God. And they were all amazed and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? Others mocking them said, These men are full of new wine. But Peter love this part. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words, for these are not drunken as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day, but this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel, and it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams, and on my servants and on my handmaids I will pour out in those days of my spirit, and they shall prophesy, and I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath, blood and fire, and vapor of smoke, the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come, and it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Ye men of Israel, hear these words, Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know, him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain, whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. For David speaketh concerning him. I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved. Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad. Moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope, because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine holy one to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life, thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore, being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his loins according to the flesh he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne. He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus that God hath raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore, being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this which ye now see and hear, for David is not ascended into the heavens, but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand until I make thy foes thy footstool. Therefore, let all of the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made the same Jesus whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what should we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, for this promise is unto you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized, and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls, and they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread and in prayers, and fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles, and all that believed were together and had all things common, and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men as every man had need. And they continued daily with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house to eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God and having favor with all people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. And that folks about makes me want to shout. He said it's for you, your children, your grandchildren, your great grandchildren, the baptism of the Holy Ghost. There is a genuine Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. There is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, which is the Holy Ghost. And up there in the upper room there was a hundred and twenty that got filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and they were speaking in an unknown language, but yet everybody around them could hear every man in his own native tongue. How amazing! Oh my goodness, how amazing is that. The word of God tells us it is not a thing of the past. It is for us, for our children, our grandchildren, whosoever would like to receive it, pray for it. God will surely baptize you if you are saved and you are sanctified. You are a candidate ready to receive the Holy Ghost. How bad do you want it? I'm telling you what, when I prayed for the Holy Ghost, I prayed for a long time. I got discouraged. I thought, well, why am I not receiving this? I had everybody tell me, it's not hard to get, just let God have his way. They'd tell me this and they'd tell me that. I knew that when he was ready to give it to me, I was ready to receive it. So I was in my bedroom one evening. This is my testimony, and I was praying for one of my cousins that was lost, and I was praying for his salvation, and God baptized me in the Holy Ghost in my bedroom. It's real, people. The Holy Ghost is real, it is genuine. It is not a name it, claim it, blab it, and grab it. There is a real genuine spirit of the Holy Ghost. You can't make it up. It is genuine. You ask for it, you receive it. First is salvation being covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. That is the only thing that will get you to heaven. That's the only way we can get there is if our sins are covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. That's what saves us. Once you are saved, God will deal with you to start laying things down. He will start sanctifying your life. There's going to be places that you're not going to be able to go anymore. You're not going to feel the same way about going there. It's going to bother you. God's going to bring it to your mind. There's going to be things you can't do anymore that you used to do, things you used to say and conversations you used to have that you can't have anymore because it's ungodly communication and God will deal with your heart about that. He'll deal with your heart and your spirit about what you're putting on, what you're wearing, how you're representing Christ. If you're obedient to his will and you do what he wants you to do and you do what he asks you to do, and you have a willing heart, obedient heart, and you want to please him, he wants to bless you. And he will bless you. Just follow his word and love him. Love him and love others, and God will carry you through. And when you have a hard time obeying his word in yourself, ask God to intervene in your life and step in and make it possible for you to do the things that you otherwise could not do. And he will do them through you. It's very important to be sensitive to the Spirit of God because as the Bible says, not everything that says Lord, Lord is going to enter into the kingdom of heaven. Also, not everybody that professes to have the Holy Ghost or speak in tongues, not every one of those people has the right spirit of the Holy Ghost. There are a lot of false doctrines, a lot of falsified people in the world. Don't be deceived. God is not mocked. And the Bible tells us that all sins are forgiven except for the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is having once the genuine, real spirit of the Holy Ghost, and then later denying the Holy Ghost. The Bible says you'll be in danger. Wow. Be very careful when you're speaking of the Holy Ghost. Do not speak against it. If you never had the Holy Ghost and you don't know and you speak in ignorance, that's one thing. But if you have experienced the real danger. Genuine spirit of God, you've experienced the Holy Ghost. Do not go back and deny it. A lot of people are scared of the Holy Ghost whenever they get around somebody like me, a Pentecostal holiness girl, um, who when the Spirit of God touches me, it's not me and myself, it's the Spirit of God working through me. And others may not understand that. They might not be used to that sort of thing. It might scare them, but let it scare you to the altar. Get a hold of it, taste of it. Get a hold of what I have. I promise you, it's gonna lead you, it's gonna guide you. The the word of God says that Jesus said that he had to go away. And if he did not go away, the comforter, the Holy Ghost, would not come. The Holy Ghost will comfort us, will lead us, and will guide us into all truth. It will remind us of the scriptures, it will be like a lantern that lights our way. You need it. If you don't have it, you need it. Salvation only comes through the blood of Jesus Christ, but if you have the Holy Ghost, you have a head start. It'll save you in a lot of situations. Trust me, there's been plenty of times where I have needed the Holy Ghost, the comfort of the Holy Ghost to get me through what I was going through. Don't be scared of it. Don't run away from it. Pursue after it. First get saved, then get sanctified, and then pray and seek after the baptism of the Holy Ghost because this world is winding up quick, it's going downhill fast, and we're gonna need it, folks. We're gonna need the extra strength and comfort that we receive from the Spirit of God that He has given us the Holy Spirit to get us through in these last days. Be encouraged, friends. God is alive, He is alive, and because He lives, we can live. We can live above sin. We can live in the joy of the Lord. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I'm not strong in myself. It is His love and His joy that He clothes me with that keeps me going every day. The joy of the Lord is my strength, He is mighty, He is powerful, and He is working in our day, in our life, and our generation. Miracles are taking place in our day. I don't know if you see it, I don't know if you feel it, but the Lord is coming back soon, folks, and it's time to prepare now. It's time to get ready. Sound the alarm because God is coming. He's gonna split the Eastern sky, He's gonna be coming soon. Be ready. He's alive and well. Praise God.
