One of the things that's really convenient to use is a wireless microphone setup. If you're doing any kind of video recording, any kind of podcasting, something like that, uh it's great to have something you can just clip on, something you can connect to your device and not have to worry about wires and you can get good quality audio. There's lots of different ones out there, everything from very inexpensive to very high-end. And I've used a number of them. So when Newer reached out to me and asked me if I would like to try out their KM19s, which is a very affordable uh set, I thought, sure, let's check it out. Let's see what's uh going on in the under $60 price range to see uh see what kind of quality and what kind of features you get for that kind of money. So let's take a look in the box and see what you get. There is a lot of things here and uh some things I wasn't expecting. So some really nice uh value for money, I would say. So it does come with a really nice case. Inside the case, you're gonna find the actual uh you know microphones themselves and the adapter, and there's uh some other nice features on the case. Uh you also get a charging cable, uh, which is a nice maybe six-foot cable, which is USB-C to USB-A. And you get some nice adapters. So if you uh if you need to extend things, you've got a little USB-C extender, and something that I found really helpful because I'm using this with my iPhone 14 currently, which is uh a lightning connector. So you get a USB-C to Lightning connector. So if you're using an older phone, uh you can use it with that, which is nice. Although the native is USB-C, it'll work great with both. Uh, you get this nice bag for everything to uh be kept in when you're using it, keep everything nice and secure, and a couple of extra uh foams for the microphone, so uh little wind socks as they would call them. So there are uh wind socks on the microphones, but you do get an extra set, which is really nice. It is a really nice compact setup. Uh, this is you know easily fits in the palm of your hand, very, very easy to carry around. And you do get uh two microphones, which is great, and you can use those either in stereo or separately if you'd like to record two different things at once. And the receiver itself just connects to the iPhone. It's tiny, uh very, very, very small device, which is great. So, not a lot of weight, very easy to just connect to your iPhone or your iPad, whatever you're gonna use. So, let's talk about the case for a second here, because this I found to be really helpful. Uh, it does have a USB connector on the back here, so you can actually charge uh the case itself. So the case has a battery in it. And then when you're out on the field, just putting the microphones into the case charges the actual microphones while you're out, uh, which is great. There's a couple of LEDs and a couple of displays that show you what's going on here. On the front of the case, it shows you uh a percentage of how you know charged the case is from 100% down. And then to the left and right of that, you've got these uh green arrows that show you uh what the level and if what the charge state of each individual microphone is. So inside the case, there's these little connectors. Uh you can see them, little pins and little pins on the bottom of the microphones. They make a connection, close the lid, and they're gonna charge up while you're not using them. So really, really handy. And again, if the uh the case you know runs down, you just plug USB-C in at home or anywhere into your laptop or charging burc or whatever, and you can charge this up if you need to. Really convenient, really, really handy. So you uh I've found that you usually get two or three full charges for each microphone out of a fully charged case, so it's nice. You get lots and lots of battery life. So the microphones themselves are absolutely tiny. Um, these guys weigh almost nothing. Very, very nice. There's some uh really nice features here. Uh there's a clip, obviously, so you can clip that onto a shirt or a jacket very easily. It is also magnetic, which is great. And there's really nothing on here except for one little button to uh you know turn it on or off. And if you needed to re-sync it, you know, you could do that as well. But they they come synced, um, you know, or paired to you know the receiver, so uh it's pretty easy to do. I did just test that out for fun to see what it would be like to pair them, and it's really nothing more than holding a button just like you would any other Bluetooth type device, and they will sync automatically, which is really, really convenient. Uh, they do have the windsock on here. You can take that off if you don't want to use that, and you can see what's going on. Uh, it's nice to have the windsock on just if you're outside, especially. The um the other thing that's nice is there's the noise cancellation built in, three different levels of noise cancellation. So you can press the button um in a sequence and turn that on. They're three different levels. For testing this, these do run at uh 24-bit. Uh, I'm running it at 48 kilohertz. You can pick a few different sample rates in the app, which is nice. Uh, if you'd like to you know record at a different frequency, you can do that. The app itself is very nice. You can get in and make uh quite a lot of settings uh to for the noise cancellation. You can also do uh what they're calling vocal enhancement, uh, some low-cut uh you know frequency adjustments, that kind of thing, uh, which is really handy. Check out the app, there's some nice features there. So let's take a listen to the sound quality. So, just a quick sound test of the newer KM16 microphone. Pretty standard setup here. I've got it uh hooked up to my shirt, pretty close, maybe six inches or so away from the mouth, uh, which is where you'd pretty much put any kind of lav mic like this. Um, so this is uh recording directly out of the mic into the receiver, plugged into my iPhone 14. And I am using the Final Cut app uh to record in so I can get video and audio for this. So no special audio settings done by the app. This is pretty much what I would call the raw or straight audio coming out of the microphone. So this should give us a pretty good idea of the sound quality. You know, keeping in mind that these are under $60 right now, um, the I think the sound quality is is very good. One of the other nice features of the app is that you can uh very quickly play back the audio with the receiver attached without having to change anything. So if you need to listen to what you've recorded, you want to make sure that everything's working. That's really a nice feature, so it's very quick to hear what you're doing right on your phone or right on your iPad. I think one of the things that I really like about these is the compact size, the value for the money, and the easy features. This really is a very simple system to use. The app is really nice, gives you lots of great features, uh, and it just makes it super easy to take this with you. So if you're looking for something that perhaps is your first wireless microphone system, or if you'd like to have something out on the field where you know you're not too worried about if you lose it or if it gets stolen, uh, for under 60 bucks, this is a really great value. All the uh all the accessories and features you could need, really great convenience, nice quality sound, all day battery life, uh just super simple connections and hookup and uh you know the niceties and extras of the extra connectors and cables and things that come with it. I think make it a no-brainer. So thanks for Endur for sending it out. Uh highly recommended for sure. My name is Mike Kovaliv. Thanks very much for watching.
