SPEAKER_01

What's up, folks? 93.1 back in the studio. Azzo in the Bahamas. I live in this fucking thing over here. Um, yeah, what's up, brother? I just changed. I apologize. I was late as you're making time for me on your vacation, but I just said fuck it. I just changed my flight from Newark, New Jersey, next Friday, because I'm going there for the NHL network next week. And I was just thinking, like over the last few days, like what's the point of just not changing it right now? Like, even if they win or they lose Azzo, I would have to do that essentially Friday night at like midnight, or sorry, Thursday night at like midnight versus just do it now, and the prices are only gonna climb. So I think I just my thought process was I just gotta trust this and the trust in it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I like that play because we're gonna we're one, we're gonna win, Giordo. Yeah, and two, we're gonna be there anyways, probably. So I think you're laughing either way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like we'll get at least one night at the chandelier bar, win or lose. But I was just thinking on Thursday night, I have the late tilt NHL on the fly, which is gonna run me till about 11 p.m. Eastern. So I'm not gonna be able to change it while I'm on the air, even though UND has the early game, right? If they win. So my thought process was like, I'm getting back to my hotel at midnight, I'm changing it then. It's probably gonna be crazy expensive, and that just seems like a lot of hassle of like a lot of just I don't want that thought of just having to do that, you know. Like, I'm not that savvy with changing fights and stuff. So I was like, fuck. I just I think we just got to trust it that we're gonna shit kick Wisco, we're gonna get out of that one, and the boys are gonna be there either way.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think I don't know. I feel good about it. I mean, obviously anything can happen, especially when you're playing, you know, Mike Hastings, Nick Oliver, the coach and that team over there of the Badgers, but I like our chances, Giordo. I mean, we we're the guys are playing the best they've ever played, so they're peeking at the right time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, they looked incredible in that game against Quinnipiac. And uh, there's just I don't know why I get so much joy about just chirping Quinna Piac. We've talked about it on here before. I'm obviously vocal about it on Twitter and X, all over social media. I just think it's hilarious that, like, you know, Quinnipiac for me wouldn't be a top 30 school I go to. I go to Michigan Tech over that place, if I'm being honest. Like, I just I don't know, just something about their name. It just it feels like in they're a good program, like they're a good school. I'm I'm aware of that. I'm not a fucking idiot. I they just won a national championship, they've been competitive for over a decade. There's just something about that place where it just feels like it's like a cheap restaurant trying to be nice, is how I view them, you know. Like it when a PAC is off the rack, like it's it's like all it's like all it's like a guy that wears all saints, you know, like and he tries to tell you it's like some designer, it's like ah, fella, like that, you know, that's that's not in the same category as Monclair, Tom Ford, you know, Louie, Gucci, like yeah, you know, nice all saints, fella. But I don't know. I just some something just chick kicking those guys. I just get so much joy out of. And I was what an effort in soup balls that was. It was incredible to watch.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that was an insane effort. I've never seen him play so well. They just, you know, they they don't cheat the game, Jordo. You know, they they play the right way and they play hard, and they've got some skill, they've got Moxie. That was just so fun to see them. And yeah, it is fun beating Quiddapiac, and it makes it all that much better. I mean, I love Quiddapiac Jordo. They fucking beat the gophers in the national championship and overtime. I mean, I'll always be thankful for them doing that. Um, but I do I do understand your your take on them for sure. I uh I I like them, but your take is hilarious. I can't there's something about that school that does have a little bit of a feel like that, but all their other alumni and their players, it seems like they enjoy playing there. So I do respect that side of it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I'm gonna I'm gonna see buy into that. I'm gonna I'm gonna be the heel. I could I'm perfectly okay with being the bad guy. I just know like what are you, Quinnipiac? Now that we're just I'm I'm I'm riled up now. Like, are you are you an Ivy League school? No, you're not. Are you a a blue blood school that guys want to go to in terms of on the east coast? Or is it guys do guys from Boston, do guys from New York, do they want to go to Quinnipac, or do they want to go to Boston University, BC, um, even some of those other schools there? Like, they're just a tweener for me. It's like you guys aren't Ivy League, you're not like a perennial team in hockey east, you play in the ECAC, you recruit 29-year-olds out of Surrey, BC. Like, what are you? You're a good team, but I'm just saying, for me, I'm going to Houghton, Michigan before I'm going to fucking New Haven, Connecticut.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, hey, hey, Houghton's a sick place to play. They packed that barn. Yeah. Some sometimes they've got a pretty decent team, not back in the day, but recently, I guess. So yeah, I mean, hilarious take. Hilarious take.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're just more. I think those guys up there would be more my speed, more my chins. You know, I could just drive up from Madison from Verona five hours. Um, and I like look, listen, I play with guys from Quinni Piac. I like them, you know. I just think it's a funny bit. Uh, Mike Gartag's a good dude. Travis St. Denise is a prick on the ice, he's a good player. Uh Joe Fiala, who I went to school with, high school with um player.

SPEAKER_03

He just moved to Minneapolis. No way, they're helping him unload. Yes, no way stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Fifi, really. Yeah, he was in Austin, Texas.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't know you liked, I didn't know you knew him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he was we were both 93s. He was from Eagle River, Wisconsin. I was a way up north. He moved to Madison, Verona. Uh, we went to high school together. I think he moved like in like seventh or eighth grade. He was a year above me, but we were the same age for birth years. We were 93. So he played caps growing up, he played Wisconsin AAA, he played Mission for a year with me. He was one of those kids that was like 5'9 at 12 years old. He was a beast.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah. And then he seems like, yeah. Didn't he did he play NTDP?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, he did. Yep. Yeah, he played NTDP. He was kind of like their like their seventh defenseman there for the 93 team.

SPEAKER_03

He played USHL after NTDP.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and then he went to Quinny Piac, and he was kind of uh in and out guy of the lineup, but a good locker room presence for sure.

SPEAKER_03

For sure.

SPEAKER_01

That's crazy. He's in mini now. I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'll have to I'll have to hit him up.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, he's a funny character, man. Um, but anyways, yeah, it was a great weekend for UND. Obviously, this past weekend. Now we got the bye week uh in and going into Vegas here, Azzo. Uh, how did your bracket fare? I I'm two for four right now. I think you're what three for four?

SPEAKER_03

Three for four.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I missed out on I had Michigan State over Wisco. Uh it was looking it was looking good there for a while. I mean, what a comeback by Wisco, but yeah, three for four. Um I did kind of think Duluth was gonna win that Michigan game before it started.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Um, but Michigan looked pretty good, so yeah, they looked well oiled.

SPEAKER_01

Um and also that that Wisco game was crazy because as the North Dakota game was starting, Michigan State was up 3-1 with three minutes left, and obviously we know what happened. Uh that was a photo like finish there. That was in what Worcester?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I believe so.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Worcester because the other one was in Albany. But yeah, anyways, that was that was crazy. I can't believe we're getting Wisco UND. That game's gonna be nuts. I can't, and also it's it's a little bit strange that they didn't put that as the late tilt on Thursday.

SPEAKER_03

I know is is that predetermined? Do we know?

SPEAKER_01

Or yeah, I'm not sure if it is or not.

SPEAKER_03

Uh maybe the one seed gets to pick.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that could be it. Yes, I think you're right. Yep.

SPEAKER_03

But you would think you would think Michigan would pick before you get a little extra rest, but yeah, yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I guess you got the matter, like you got the day between.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you got the day between. So that does that really matter? Like, would you rather start at a normal game time, just a normal, you know, game day routine, or you know, that shortened version of it. Um, I never minded that early slot.

SPEAKER_01

No, do you think there's gonna be a ton of UND fans there? Is it gonna be you know, like a destination game? Is it gonna be sold out? You think it'll be sold out?

SPEAKER_03

I I would think there would it's for sure gonna be sold out. I would think as many UND fans as you can imagine that can get tickets, yeah, because it's been 10 years, so these fans burn itching to get to a frozen fort. It happens to be in Vegas, which is for these fans, I mean, it doesn't get any better. But they're all taking out they're all taking out loans right now, for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're just throwing it on credit. If they're going to the local credit union, they're not even gonna worry about it because that bank will probably be just you know boarded up in the next couple years, they can take out a line of credit, whatever they need. Do you have your do you have your tickets ready for the games?

SPEAKER_03

Uh no, I'm waiting to hear back from Dusky. He was gonna try to work some magic for us. Uh at least me and me, him, and John. Yeah. Um, but I do need to find a couple tickets. My family want me to find a few. They're actually gonna go, my mom and my dad, and my brother. So yeah, they they wanted to go. They wanted to go to Vegas. Um, so yeah, even they're going.

SPEAKER_01

So you got your you got your flight booked, hotel booked.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And you're gonna go in. Are you going in Thursday or are you gonna go in Wednesday?

SPEAKER_03

Thursday. Thursday. I I fly in at like I get in at like 11 on Thursday. So I actually like that. I mean, it gives us a couple hours just to get a couple drinks in us, maybe, but I do want to dial in for that game.

SPEAKER_01

100%. Yeah, you don't want to be full blackie chan for that one, especially no, it's I don't want to treat it like the Ralph sweet level, Jordo. Yeah, no, I I'm with you. I mean, that's that's why I kind of like the thought of flying in on Friday, getting there in the afternoon, maybe blowing it out that day, and then dialing in for the game on Saturday, and then hopefully, you know, hopefully they get there, and then hopefully the ultimate prize um goes in our favor. We got a lot of a lot of acres to farm before we get there, though. You know, it's this could be a big test. I'm not nervous about it. I I like I like our matchup against Wisco, even just watching them. I think they're a solid squad. I I just think that the way UND and especially that those middle six players in our bottom six played are uh first of all, our defense. I gotta give this kid a shout out. Ej emory. Like, I to be honest, I didn't think I didn't think he could make that improvement in this game. I mean, the way he was breaking out the puck, his puck skills have gotten so much better.

SPEAKER_03

Middle pops when he's on the wall in the D zone.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, yeah, he's and his he's just quieted his feet down so much defending, too. Like last year, I would I would tell him to his face, like, yo, man, like fella, you gotta quiet your feet down, you're overcommitting, you're outside the dots, you look lost out there. You really do. Yeah, happy feet, happy feet, bad angles, jumping when you shouldn't be. And he is a totally different player, like completely, like, looks like a pro. Like, I was I was watching that game. I was like, I was talking to Fuzz, my dad. I'm like, this Emery, he's gonna play, and I don't know if it's gonna be this next year. I I think he should come back for at least one more. Um, maybe even two, but at least one more for sure. But Ozo, he he's gonna be a player, like he looked really good in that game. I didn't watch on Thursday, but I did watch Saturday, and man, he was all over the ice and just like not overcomplicating things, not forcing anything. He just he knows what he is now, I think is the biggest thing.

SPEAKER_03

He does, and yeah, his his defending is just no one can get by the kid. No, I mean it's he he doesn't let a puck past him hardly, so and it's like you said, his skating. That's why I feel so confident he will work out at the next level, Jordo, is because his skating right now, like he's so athletic, no one can get by him, and it reminds me a little bit like Tucker Pullman, you know, where he's just you can tell he's just so much more athletic than the next guy. Um, but yeah, their whole decor though is just they're solid, they're rock solid.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they they make a ton of plays, they make little passes all up the ice, they execute, even hitting you know, the week's ID coming out of their own zone, whether it goes to the wall or the middle of the ice, the the week's ID is activated. Um, I was very impressed with just their structure and just how they got through that quinted piek neutral zone. Like Quinn Piacks a by all accounts, a good team, and they diced them up. And I was with the the biggest thing too is is just their four check, too. Like they were so they were so predictable to all of their linemates, they knew where the pucks was going. I that play that they made, I think it was on the I don't know, it was the fifth where they made like two plays coming out of their zone. Zellers took a hit, another guy took a hit, passed it over to Emery. And the in the wherewithal emory had in that moment to distribute it to a cross ice dump, and then Mac Swanson makes a great play on the puck out front, and then Strindon ends up burying it, I believe. Uh was his goal. But this the or maybe he made the pass.

SPEAKER_03

Was it Dun James goal?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yes. Uh, I think so.

SPEAKER_03

I think it was puck. Yeah, it was right.

SPEAKER_01

It was right in front of the net, but it was like it was an emery cross-ice deposit. Yeah, Swanson made a great play on the puck. Strindon, I think, made the pass out front, or maybe finished it off, but it was just a an incredible sequence where I was like, wow, that's that's good. Puck.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I was I was I was just in so impressed. And you know, it's it's it's one thing like you're watching their defensemen and you're watching them on their breakouts, Jordo, like they're not chipping it off the glass and going to get it. They're they're breaking the puck out on the tape, skating. Um and they're just a team that when you watch them, you're like, fuck, I would hate to play against those guys. Their forwards are coming in, they're quick, they're finishing their check, they're on the puck, they know where you're gonna distribute it to, so they're already going there. Um, yeah, I just really like their game, but I mean you could run into a hot goaltender at any point, you know. That's the thing about these one-game shots.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was it was Cole Reshne's goal where Zellers made a play on the wall in his in his D zone. Yes, yes, yes, takes takes a hit. Swanson sends it over to, or it was even Reshne, believe sends it over to EJ Emory. Yeah, it was Swanson, and then he gets up in the play. Emory cross ice deposit, Swanson first on the puck, and then you know, Strington makes a hell of a play. He's at the net front, he slides the corner and then finds Reshne right in the honey hole. That was just like when I saw that, I was like, wow, this is a well-oiled and a well-coached team just to make a play like that because they're so connected right now. That's the thing I was watching that game, and yeah, they won it within the first five minutes. But also, some of these guys just speak on you know the the lower half of the lineup just to get the boys going early in that game. Like this number, this number 15 cat, I didn't even know who he was to start the game.

SPEAKER_03

He was great, he's unbelievable. He's he's been good all year. You can tell he's he's shown flashes a little bit like Ben Strindon, hasn't really broken out till this year, but you can always tell he's got flashes. That's been this Jack Kernan kid, yes. Um, Maple Grove native. I'm not sure if he was committed to Mankido State before and then decommitted or what the deal was, but oh fuck, those goals weren't they weren't no joke either, Jordo. I mean, those were a couple unbelievable plays, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And and then Coral was all over it too, all game, white on rice, you know. And the biggest thing too is is what I've noticed is, and I was actually talking to my dad about this, is how well uh they're playing below the goal line, and you know that's a Dane Jackson staple is get first touch on the puck, but then get your feet moving to create separation from the D that's on you, and then you got to have your guys in the right spot. So you want one guy obviously at the net front, you have your flanks in terms of your point guys if you need that option, but the way that the guys were getting to little spaces like in and around the net, like three feet off the net, one way or the other. You know, that goes back to just like preparation work, and a lot of times, Ozzo, those those routes you run through, that's like before practice gets going, right? Where you go out there and the ice is still fresh, and you think it's a nothing drill, but if you take it seriously, it's all muscle memory, and that's what I could see from these guys. It's like they've been repping it out all season, and now when you get to these biggest games, they're playing their best because they've done it, you know, like they just look confident.

SPEAKER_03

They do, they're they're confident, and they just they they know what they're doing, they they they know what they have to do. Each guy out there knows his role and he's playing it.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Um, yeah, it's it's been those. When was the last time you had a game like that? A regional final to go to the frozen four, and it's just fucking over right away. Like I was that was I was so happy watching the whole game. I was it was just it's over. I mean, this is so enjoyable to watch. And then you're we're talking about the fifth goal to go up five-nothing, and it was just an insane effort goal. It was just like, holy fuck, this is dominant.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, and it's weird too because you know, you look back at the last team that won it. Obviously, you were on the squad in 2016, you got 60 point scorers, you had two guys in the 50s, and then everyone else kind of was residuals off of that, right? Like you had defensemen that had 30 odd points, um, you know, a good solid just second line, third line, fourth line. I mean, Luke Johnson was playing on the third or fourth line, you know, Austin Poganski, Reck Gardner, those players. But if you look at this team, Ozwa, like the scoring is so balanced, it's almost crazy. I mean, you got Rick Woods got 36, Reshdy's got 35, Zellers, Bill Zellers has got 34, Strinan's got 34, James 31, Weeb's got 29, Swanson, 28, Libanovich, 25. Like, those are almost all point per game players, and you know that that list runs almost 10 deep. So it's oh yeah, you could tell that they're just getting it by committee, where you know, then maybe they don't have the CBS line. Um, they definitely have a balance balance attack, and there's more ways to win than just one, as you know.

SPEAKER_03

For sure. There's a there's a million different recipes, but uh no, yeah. Lj LJ was actually the center of the heavy line, which is Rhett Gardner and Pogo. Third line, and then you and then uh that was the second line, third line and fourth line. I mean, you had like Shane Gersich on the fourth line. I mean, talk about a good fourth line player on that team, yeah. Um, but yeah, these guys are just so deep. Like that Cade Littler, David Klee, and Josh Sekretski, those guys, the fourth line this year, they've just been playing unbelievable, unbelievable fourth line hockey. Um, and then you got Ollie Josephson who might come back. And where does he slot in? You know, did you take do you take Klee out? Because that third line with Cody Kroll, Kernan, and Tyler Young, like those boys are fucking playing too. Like Cody Kroll scored a big goal.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, they're solid. I mean, they're those guys are they're right in the mix. They're you know, that I'd almost say, like, you know, I I haven't watched as much as you Azzo all year, but like from what I've seen, and especially that game going in the frozen forward, like that that to me is our identity line. When we need a big shift either way to tilt momentum, for sure, that's who I'm sending over the boards, right? Because they're four four checking like fucking banshees.

SPEAKER_03

I know, and and and if they're actually out there against another team's third line, that other team's third line is fucked.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, those go those boys are quick, they're playing quick a hundred percent.

SPEAKER_01

So we're pulling for the boys, obviously. Over here, I already booked my fucking ticket. I changed it, so don't fuck me, fellas. Um, but good luck and and just play free out there. But also on the other side, obviously, Denver, uh, Michigan, David Carl back at it. David Carl says no to five-year deals from the NHL and just makes a frozen four year after year. Michigan back in the dance. Never been a big Michigan guy either myself. I won't sugarcoat that. So I'm pulling for du on that side. These guys at du, they just they they don't even have like you know, an incredible season, they have a good season, but it's not like they're you know, so they weren't that good that year this year, right? I mean and now they're just unbelievable, and now they're back in it, and they're probably gonna beat Michigan. I I don't see them losing that game. I really don't. I mean, if David Carl, you give him 10 days to scheme against a team, he's yeah, he's gonna shut them down. It's gonna come down to special teams, and I think they'll be disciplined enough to stay out of the box.

SPEAKER_03

For sure, for sure they will. They're they're always and they just beat that western team's no joke, and they just fucking pummeled them. Yeah, I don't understand it because I watched them earlier this year, and I was like, these guys uh a little down year for Denver, and all of a sudden they're back in the frozen floor, they're gonna be in. National, they ain't losing to Michigan, like you said. There's they're just not. I want them to because I don't want to play Denver.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, I wouldn't.

SPEAKER_03

I would I'd much rather play Michigan.

SPEAKER_01

100%. Yeah, I absolutely would too. I just Michigan's gonna have to outscore Denver, is what it's gonna come to. Obviously, but I'm saying they're gonna have to put up a five spot on to win that game. I really do. And I I just and on the other side of it, the flip side, good luck getting more than three against Denver. Like I know, you know, to and I I if they get three, that to me, that screams an OT game. Somehow Denver sneaks out of it. They just always find a fucking way to win. And they do so Michigan's gonna have to outscore him. I think their specialty teams are gonna have to be elite. This TJ Hughes is is he the Hobie Baker?

SPEAKER_03

I I think they give it to Max Plant, to be honest. But I I'm also an NCHC guy, but this Max Plant kid, he's unbelievable. I mean, he he takes over the game, he's the reason and obviously his brother Sam is right there with him, but Max is a little above him. I haven't watched TJ Hughes that much, but there's there's just no way he's as good as Max Plant, man. There's no way.

SPEAKER_01

It's amazing the amount of Hobie Baker winners a school like Duluth has had come through there.

SPEAKER_03

I know.

SPEAKER_01

Because they had they had, I believe, that Watson guy in the 80s, and then Brett Hall won the Hobie, right? Or did he remember?

SPEAKER_03

I can't remember if he if he got one or not, he might have. And then they had what Junior Lasard junior had Conley.

SPEAKER_01

They had Connie, and then they had Krenovich. Yeah, the defenseman. So they've had a holy fuck, they've had a lot. They've had a lot, like a sneaky amount of Hobie Bakers. Brett Hall was just a finalist. Wow, he didn't even win it. But they've had it's gotta be the most by any school. I think it is. Yeah, I think they've had they've they've had six Hobie Bakers.

SPEAKER_03

Holy fuck.

SPEAKER_01

Or no, five. AI is wrong here. I don't know why they had Hercus on here. That's weird. So Tom Kervers, who is a great player, Bill Watson, Jack Conley, Scott Provenich, and this junior one Lasad.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Junior Lasad, and he was nasty.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, that's a lot. Yeah, you you don't think of Deleuze. I mean, and and Peonk could have been up there too, you know, the the years he was there.

SPEAKER_03

They have had some some unbelievable players. Um, but yeah, I'm I mean, Jordo, this Michigan team, nothing against them, but I haven't watched them much, and and they've gotten this far and they've been dominant. But this Jaden Perron kid is like one of the best players on their team. I watched this kid for a couple years. There's nothing against Jane Perron. Maybe you'll prove me wrong, but I I think he cheats the game a little bit. Oh, 100%. Cheating for offense. That's not the way you win during these times.

SPEAKER_01

He's a great player, like a great skilled player. I don't, I wouldn't, I wouldn't even say great player. He's a he's a he's got good skill, he's a good, highly skilled kid. For sure. Uh he probably looks incredible in a practice. I would say at a at a camp, he probably even looks better. If you're at a NHL camp in the summer and you're doing the Power Edge Pro and you're sticking on and you got arts and crafts hour, he probably looks incredible. He probably looks unbelievable on a one-on-one against a goalie. But does he even really fit in our mold of North Dakota now? I don't know. I if he's there, are we even are we even playing him? I don't know. I I would probably say no.

SPEAKER_03

If I'm being honest, I I I unless he was he's had a great season, he's got like 50 points, but I I can't say that I want him on this roster.

SPEAKER_01

I would say he would have to significantly go ahead. Yeah, and you know, you kids mature, they figure out how to play, they you know, probably wish they things were different. Like players mature, they can they can get better, they can work on things, they can play in straighter lines. Um, but he just didn't show that at the time at UND he was willing to make those changes. So I would be you know interested to see. I want to see him play. I want to see him play on the big stage. I'm gonna be watching that game if I can, and we'll we'll monitor that game, but definitely, definitely giving the edge to Denver uh in that tilt. So we'll see Oswald. It's gonna be sick though. I'm fired up. Vegas, it's gonna be painted green. I just I mean, the people of just North Dakota hockey everywhere just gotta be so so fired up. Like last time, Natty Chip in the dance 10 years ago, and it's in Vegas. Like these people are. I mean, people some of these drunk farmers might walk in there and spend a hundred thousand the first night just because they're so horny. Oh, yeah, you know, oh yeah, it it's a perfect scene for what a destination frozen for should be for Sioux fans in Vegas. I mean, people are gonna eat that up.

SPEAKER_03

100. It's an easy flight for all of them. Um, some of them are probably even driving. Yeah, you know, the retired ones living down in Arizona and California. Um, yeah, that's gonna be exciting. I'm scared a little bit, Jordo. I'm not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, um, feels like you're going in yeah, going into battle.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'm like scared for the team a little bit, but I'm also scared for myself, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was gonna say be more scared for your body, I would say, probably.

SPEAKER_03

That's that's what I was kind of referring to. Like it's that could get dicey down there, you know. Sometimes you you lose track in in those casinos sometimes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, do you ever? Yeah, I was just there. It was 6 a.m. before you knew it.

SPEAKER_03

Um, are you are you gonna be watching in New York Thursday?

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna try. Yeah, I'm doing the early show that day, so it's gonna be a little bit.

SPEAKER_03

You're gonna be working.

SPEAKER_01

I know. I'm gonna I might be getting updates while it's going on. So yeah, I think it's what time is that game local standard?

SPEAKER_03

Fuck, that's gotta be uh what's it gonna be like 5 p.m. your time, 2 p.m. Vegas?

SPEAKER_01

I think I'll be able to catch like the first first period at least. I'll have a good idea of of where we stand on a Thursday for sure. You're gonna be coming off like when are you you're getting home when? On tomorrow.

SPEAKER_03

Going home tomorrow. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So take some liver pills, get the magnesium out and reset it.

SPEAKER_03

Do it do a couple saunas, yeah. Get right back on the bird to Vegas.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. I love it. How has it been down there? That's good. You've been golfing, what have you been doing?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I've been golfing, you know, snorkeling, sitting by getting sitting by the cabana at the pool.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Yesterday I had fucking I had four pina coladas.

SPEAKER_01

That's nice.

SPEAKER_03

They're going down so good, and I'm like, fuck it, dude. I'm on vacation today. I had the worst stomach ache ever. So uh brutal decision. So I'm I'm I'm I'm laying off right now. I'm just taking it easy my last day here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, have you have you pushed the pace at all any of the nights, or has it just been steady?

SPEAKER_03

There's there's one night I pushed the pace pretty good. Yeah, cocktails caught up to me a little bit, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's you know, that's baseball can happen.

SPEAKER_03

They're making some stiff down here, so you know, you in your head, it's always you're thinking you're drinking one. Yeah, sometimes you can lose track of that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it could have been the you know, bad chicken taco, too. You don't blame the boobies either, you know. You never know. You know, bad shrimp, yeah. Fuck, yeah. You feel that too? Yeah, I don't know. It's kind of dizzy from it. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

It's bad sword fish.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, that's yeah, that's I mean, that's bender, dude. That's that's bender. So I'm glad you're doing well, Azzo. Um I went and saw, I don't know if you know this band, but they're for they're they're fans and friends of Missing Curfee. Now I didn't know them before. Um, kind of like a Rufus to soul vibe. Bob Moses saw these guys at the Phoenix Theater on Tuesday. Two dudes from Vancouver moved to New York probably like 15 years ago. Um, but they're like house, but they play all their instruments. So they got a couple guitarists, they got a lead singer, keyboards, they had the you know the drums going. It was a vibe, dude. I don't know if you've ever I wanted to just run that by your chin and because I got to meet these guys afterwards and just chop it up and hang out. There's a couple songs, a couple songs you got to uh you gotta check out. I'll send them your way after the words, but yeah, they're doing like a 22 shows in 30-day tour, like insane, like some juicy venues too, like the Hollywood Bowl they're doing. Um, but they're going all over the goddamn place.

SPEAKER_03

How are they traveling bus?

SPEAKER_01

They got two buses. Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Nails.

SPEAKER_01

I know. I was like, do you guys like to fly? Where they're like, well, like you know, now we can just leave right after the show. Because obviously, you know, they do well, but they're not flying private, right? And they got all their shit, and you know, like most rock stars, yeah. You got to go by bus. They were getting on the iron lung right after that was their first show of the tour, and they were going right to the guts of Dallas, like 14 hours.

SPEAKER_03

Ooh, like that. Those buses are pretty nice, though.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they said they're nice, yeah. But still, like you got a nice bunk. There's you know, I think the two dudes that are like the main guys have you know, like the back rooms on each bus. But yeah, that's they said they love it though. Like they're like 36, 37 now, they've been doing it for 15 years, I think. Touring.

SPEAKER_03

Um, so you were chopping it up with them, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

For probably like I had like you know, a couple beers backstage with them. They're cool, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Unreal. Were they so what were they saying? Like, do they have beers after each show, or like how do they make it just buzzing? They're grabbing it, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they said, like, you know, in their early days, you know, they would be blowing it out a bunch afterwards, and you know, you wake up stung, you're like, Fuck, you know, I gotta do another show. So, but now I think they're like seasoned professionals, you know, they've kind of figured it out. Sure, you know, maybe it's one or two beers after you know the opening night show, and then they probably mark off a few days where they can really get after it. But I think you know, it's predominantly just like get your workouts in, eat well, like get on stage, crush it. You know, they've they're kind of at that age where you know one of the guys, Jimmy Jimmy's got a family now, you know, he's got like two kids and a wife, and so it's like you know, like you can't really run that hard, otherwise you'll just burn out. Oh, yeah, that you can't do too much dust.

SPEAKER_03

Like, no, I don't know how those guys as rock stars were able to do it, man. Um, that's a grind though, doing that shit. It's gotta be fun. You're you're fucking you got the mic in your hand, you're playing an instrument in front of a crowd. I mean, you know, you kind of know what that feeling's like with uh even a comedy show, but playing music in front of a crowd, fuck. Can't imagine anything better.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's crazy. Um, and just like the the vibe, and just like the they they have like a unique crowd too, where it's like you know, they have a they have a pretty solid following. They've had a couple of songs that have popped off and are like mainstream, but it's it's more so just kind of like if you know you know vibes, and you know, they got like older walks of life, they got you know, people like dudes that are just like our age walking in there, they have you know, just like the hippie smokers, like you know, it's like pink hair, and then they got like the guy that looks like an accountant. So it was cool, it was a cool show. So I just want to give those guys a shout out. Um, went and saw them on Tuesday. We gotta talk a little tiger woods. I know everyone's beating it you know to death at this point. Um, but Eldrick Woods, those videos. I I always hate when the body cam videos come out and then everyone sees it. But why are they releasing those? I don't know, man.

SPEAKER_03

Just let them keep that to yourself. I mean, fuck.

SPEAKER_01

Like, you know, the guy like he just gets out of the car, he gives Donnie a call. He's like, you know, I just got off the phone with the president. The best clip was like, Do you want anything in the car, Mr. Woods? Ah, just my sticks. They're like, Oh yeah, like nice. Like, you know, you just it's my golf clubs, yeah. Whatever. And then these guys like, like, yeah, make sure you get the putter. And the guy's like, Oh, is that putter? Uh is there some is that your lucky putter, or something along the lines he says like that. He's like, Oh, well, I've I've won 14 majors with that putter. Oh, yeah, yeah, that's probably why you want it. You know, it's like I guess I love what he just says, yeah, just my sticks. Yeah, just just give grab my ribs.

SPEAKER_03

Grab my sticks. Yeah, oh man, I love this. The whole thing about like him doing it, and then you got those guys, those golf influencers, Jordo, just releasing videos about it, you know, you're talking about it, and like Riggs and that rappaport guy like started crying. It's like, dude, it's like, dude, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like dude, just because you did like a a a 20-second video with you on the putting green, like you're not boys with them. No, like it's I don't think tiger has any boys.

SPEAKER_03

I I don't I it it doesn't seem like it. I mean, I so I'm at this resort Atlantis. Apparently, last time my my my wife's family was here, tiger was here playing craps by by himself. No way, had the area roped off, obviously security around, and he was just playing craps by himself. Like you'd think you'd have a couple buddies with you or something, you know, to roll the dice with, but he's just they said he was by himself, whole craps table.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think he's I think he's definitely got like probably some buddies that he can kind of like maybe like the guy that re that came to like you know was first on the scene or whatever is like his like right hand man, but they're probably just all like yes man around him, and he probably doesn't like to have them around when he's doing like his shadiest work. So at that point, when you can't trust anybody, you probably don't even want any real buddies. I mean, think about what he's been through and how public everything has been in his life, even just on the personal front, and then you go on the golf side of things, and you have like former caddies that write books about you and tell everyone like you're a dickhead, you know.

SPEAKER_03

It's just like yeah, it's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

That's why, like the whole driver thing to me is like guys, the whole reason why he doesn't want to drive is so he feels normal and also so he can do his shady stuff without it ever getting out. Like, I don't care what NDA people sign, this and that, like word of mouth always travels, and you know, he's one of those guys. I'm not saying he should be driving fucking high, I'm just saying he doesn't want that, man. Like, he wants to just feel like a normal human and he wants to, if he's got a whack a red robin waitress, like that's what he wants to do, and he wants to drive over there by himself, like so he can feel normal, you know.

SPEAKER_03

For sure, and he's for sure got a problem. I mean, when you think about Jordan, you think about the amount of surgeries the guy's had, how many is it? 20 20 plus back surgeries, multiple other surgeries, metal rod in his fucking leg. When every one of these surgeries you get handed a shitload of painkillers because you actually kind of need them for a couple days. Well, after you have this many surgeries, you need like four of these things to even feel anything. Yeah, so now you got this tolerance built up and you're tiger woods, and like anytime you got pain, you're probably prescribed these painkillers, and you're just ripping them. And he probably felt normal when he was driving, but he he in the body cam footage he looked a little fucked up, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And like what's the alternative for this guy? So he's gonna go away, he's probably gonna go to like Dubai or somewhere in the Caribbean, play golf, like stage a rehab. Hopefully, he actually gets help. But when your body is in that much pain, like what's the alternative? Like, weed is not gonna do that. CBD cream, don't even start with me on that. Like, what takes away that amount of pain? Where I think if he's not on perks, also I don't think he can even walk, man.

SPEAKER_03

No, how could you with that many surgeries and shit and and accidents? And how could you?

SPEAKER_01

He didn't he basically doesn't have like what a left leg or a right leg or something, it's basically all just the whole thing's just repaired, yes, and you know, the the spinal infusion surgeries, like he's got a his back is fused together like 19 times, you know what I mean? Like it's like he's walked out of fucking exhibits pin my ride place back in the day at a chop shop, like he's just put together like a 72 Chevelle. Like he's I don't know like what do you take though? Like, what's the alternative if the guy is gonna be like you can't live in that much pain, man? But I also know that you can't be addicted to painkillers.

SPEAKER_03

I know what do you do? What do you what do you do? Like because there you don't know, like he may doing it, nothing's doing it, especially when you got that tolerance. Yeah, it's fucked to think about, but like at rehab, how is a guy supposed to rehab? He's probably just in so much fucking pain.

SPEAKER_01

He can't and the come down off of those painkillers I've heard is just insane, man. Like people say it's worse than heroin, like that are that severely addicted. I mean, the guy had how many, god knows how many percocets in him at the time, and then he had two in the pocket just for you know, did he?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I didn't I didn't see that little tidbit.

SPEAKER_01

He had a couple in the clip, yeah. Just two hydrocodones right in the pocket just for good measure. So it's like fuck. I mean, I just don't know. And look, we we all want the best from it. It's uh honestly a miracle that he hasn't killed himself yet in some of these car wrecks or killed anyone more importantly. Um, you know, just an innocent bystander or kids in the car, god forbid. But I just don't know, I don't know how you you get even remotely sober, man. And like I think he's in so much pain that he's just obviously become a junkie. Where if he does this this stint, if he doesn't have someone looking after him 24-7, I mean, he's getting perks, man. He'll find it. It's tight.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, for sure, without a doubt. It's tough. What can what can you do? I mean, Brett Favre went down that path, didn't he? Wasn't he buzzing? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I just don't, I don't, I don't think it was ever as as long, and I don't think they have as many surgeries as right. Yeah, definitely was in pain, but I don't think he's you know to the point where where Tiger's at, man. And I think like honestly, like the crazy thing about Eldrick is is I think if the public opinion in the backlash wasn't there from him, I think he plays in the masters. Like, I I I think he he fully like he's yeah, you know what I mean. Like, I I I I don't think he thinks it's like that big of a deal. Like, I I don't know the guy, but I'm saying the how big of a competitor he is, and and just the way he looks at life. I he probably looks at these things just to like get him through the day, and like the high is just the high at this point.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he's he's clearly gotten you'd think he's gotten good at blocking out the noise at this point. Yes, like he's been dealing with it for how many years now? Like at some point, you're just like you probably don't even pay attention to it.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, the guy was on the range like 24 hours after that accident.

SPEAKER_03

Like, oh yeah, it's it's scary. He just probably just just don't drive ever again. Like, yeah, you can you can do your shit, just don't drive.

SPEAKER_01

I know, and it's like you it's kind of scary to think about too, where you know you mix and you match all those pills too, because the guy can't sleep either because he's in so much pain. So you're mixing uppers, downers, sleepers, maybe a little bit of booze. I don't think he drinks a ton, but it's like you know what happens if you overshoot that pocket and you don't wake up, you know. You like you want to be there for your kids, and you know, it's just like man, I know and that's a guy like dude, it's tough. You know, if I'm thinking about it, I'm sure you're the same way, like not only just in golf, like that guy was my he still is like look at him just like such an idol.

SPEAKER_03

Like, oh everyone, everyone thinks it too. Like Gabby, my wife, she doesn't give a shit about any athletes, like yeah, but she she'll like see a tiger clip and just show me like, look at this guy, he's just a beast. It's like why do you like tiger? Everyone likes tiger, he's just there's something about him.

SPEAKER_01

I know. And he's walking in too, like on a it's so sick. How sick is it back in the day in those clips when he's walking in and he's parking his rig and he's got the hat backwards and the fast shades on and the red, and he's just walking in, no bag, someone's carrying it for him.

SPEAKER_03

Just jacked too.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, he does not, he still does not miss an upper body day. He doesn't his face doesn't look great, his body doesn't move well, but my god, is his upper body jacked?

SPEAKER_03

How is he? He's still like a bodybuilder up top.

SPEAKER_01

He's more jacked now that he than he was ever, you know.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's crazy with his back surgeries and shit. I don't know how he's doing it.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, remember when we had cookie on and they they were playing at that course outside of Orlando, and it was like him, it was Tiger, Cookie, and uh Marco Mira, maybe. And they would say, like, the way Tiger would train was like insane. Like it would be in the morning, as they're showing up to the range, Tiger's just finishing up a five mile run. Then Tiger goes to the range, does three hours on the range, then he plays 36 holes, then he goes back to the range, then he runs another five miles. Like it's just insane. Like, and that the that was back in the day where. Where like golfers just showed up with goofy pants and a fat ass, and this guy is just a fucking menace, man.

SPEAKER_03

Menace. Raise the bar for everyone else. Just it's like those first hockey players. Remember, we used to make those jokes. The first hockey players who decided to work out in the offseason.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like, like, fuck you guys.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Like, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_03

Like, what are we doing here?

SPEAKER_01

It's not that serious, guys. Like, fuck off.

SPEAKER_03

Fuck off. You don't need to run me through the glass. Right? Like, just use your twig.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. He raised, he rose the that's got to be some form of like autism. You're just addicted to the to the game of golf and and training that hard. You want to be that good at it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, for sure. I mean, you even see with the likes of McKinnon and McDavid and they come off as a little like slightly autistic with the game of hockey. Yeah, like I don't even know if playing for the Colorado Avalanche. I mean, obviously they're nasty, but I don't know how much, and I I'm not in that inside that room. Look, I I don't know anything. I know of guys that have played there in the past. I don't know too many guys that are there right now. And it's certainly not on a level to ask them anything. But I does a team like the Colorado Avalanche have fun, you know? Like, I don't know. You know, you like Nate is so intense, and it probably depends on who you ask.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, Nate is having fun when he's winning, right? Some of those players they want to win, but they probably also want to be an NHL player off the ice too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, when you got a guy like that, and look, it's like a he Nathan McKinnon is the closest thing to like a Michael Jordan, I think, just in terms of how hard he pushes his teammates. Do I think Jordan had way more fun away from the game? Absolutely. But I think in terms of when you're there, he can push you to the point where you think he's such a dickhead, but really it comes from a place of we are just gonna try to win at all costs, and feelings need to be pushed aside. And I think some guys can handle and see that, and some guys can't. But like when you're getting judged for what you're eating, or like ice cream, and he's calling you out on it, and he's a guy now, Ozzle, that and I know this doesn't eat at establishments on the road, he gets all of his food shipped to the hotel and he stays in and just eats his food. Like, I don't know if you need to be that extreme. Now, can you argue that it shouldn't be done that way? I don't think you can because he just scored 50 goals and he's uh been an MVP and he's one of the best players in the league. But to me, that just doesn't seem that much fun. I don't know, man. Maybe that's why we're sitting here talking about him and he has no idea who we are.

SPEAKER_03

Well, that's for sure one of the reasons. But yeah, I mean, you look you listen to like the Buffalo Sabres, you know. They're how are you guys so good this year? You know, you drink beers together, yeah. You know, that that goes a long way too. I think you can take it too far sometimes. But I mean, let's be honest, like being serious like that is like McKinnon, it's it is gonna make you better, you know. But is it worth it at the end of the day? If you end up losing, no, it probably wasn't worth it. But if you end up winning, you're probably okay with it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, just to be like that intense all the time because those guys are they don't have an off switch, and it's no, it's even more heightened these days because of the science we know, and we know how much things are valued with taking care of your body, and the science is a science, like obviously, if you do X, Y, and Z, your output is gonna be significantly higher and better, and it's way more consistent, right? For sure. So, yeah, I don't know. I don't I don't know if I would that's my style. I'd be like, Yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

But MJ did it cooler. I mean, look at a guy way cooler. Look at a guy like MJ Jordo, and I used to I am a LeBron guy, but he doesn't even come close to MJ. This guy, he's the best basketball player of all time. He he gambles on the golf course like big time. He's a good golfer. Yeah, he goes out, he tries to play fucking professional baseball, he's playing double eight baseball. Then he later on after his career, he wins that like the biggest Marlin fishing tournament in the world and wins like three million dollars for winning the tournament. Now he's got a NASCAR team, won four races this year. Like, it's the sickest shit ever. Imagine just going out and buying a NASCAR team and just winning races.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and then made a fortune on his share from the Charlotte Bobcats, too, when he bought in way back in the day, cashed out for you know X amount, 10x, whatever he paid. Yeah, the guy just wins and he he smokes cigars, he has fun, he drinks whiskey, tequila. I'm pretty sure he doesn't miss a day off the piss, to be honest. And I think he was like that when he played too, you know, where he just he's a different kind of sicko. Um, sicko's we won't see anymore, you know, kind of falls in that same realm. Now, Tyre did it a different way and he was more public, but you just don't see those types of sickles anymore.

SPEAKER_03

Where I don't know, like that it's tougher to do that nowadays.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like it is, but uh it also is just like there's just too much information, there's too many options out there to be healthy, and people are just too smart. Like the access to information is so much higher, right? That's like, yeah, you know, that's why it's funny where even you know, just the amount of information you have, it's like fucking guys that you know think there's always a better option out there for them, and they just you know they got a good chick, but they think, Oh my god, like I just saw this chick on Instagram, I have no idea who she is, and she's on my explore page, but she looks like she kind of wants to have sex with me, and I'm I like her. It's like, dude, you don't you you don't even know the person, you're looking at a goddamn screen.

SPEAKER_00

No, so funny. This person's probably bad chick crazy, you ruined your life. Do you you will hate her? Yes, she's not normal, and you have nothing in common, and just that's not what's going through your mind at all.

SPEAKER_03

That's how dumb your mind is, you know.

SPEAKER_00

You're DMing your thinking, you're thinking that this is the best thing ever.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, she responded. I'm getting attention somewhere else. I'm seeking it all over the place. Everyone's just seeking approval, and it's like, man, you know what? That's that's a dangerous road, and just like this, too, is like, I don't know. I just there's never gonna be the old school way, and we have to accept where we're at. I just think Ozo, what I'm trying to say is there's still ways to have fun and win. Um, and I think teams like Tampa Bay do that well. I think Buffalo is obviously doing it well this year. Uh, I think Utah is another team that that you could throw them in that realm. Um, but yeah, I I I've talked to a few guys that have been shipped out of Colorado, and they're like, dude, that wasn't even fun. Like, you know, like yeah, you know, we're you know, Nate's coming up to me and asking me, you know, have I done my zone two cardio yet after game 42 of the year? It's like fella, like I'm only gonna play 12 at night, you're playing 28, you know.

SPEAKER_03

Like you're playing 28 and you're staying out for all two minutes of the PP. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a lot different game for you, pal.

SPEAKER_01

It is, it really is. Also, I wanted to ask you about this, you know, lastly on the hockey front here. Um, Macklin Fellabrini. Um, the game the other night was incredible. I don't know if you caught it down there at the Atlantis, but insane. That his goal to tie it up, and then the pass to Wenberg to ultimately finish it in regulation with 20 seconds left. The pass he had to Will Smith was incredible earlier in the game. Um, the kid is a menace. He's on a mission. If Man Jose gets into the playoffs, is this a guy, a kid, a 19-year-old, that you would be willing to give the MVP to?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean, I've I've seen stats, Giordo, on the record of when the Sharks record when Celebrini does not record a point. It's like 6 16 and 1. That's just an insane stat. No other player in the league kind of has a stat like that right now. That just means how how important he is to that team. Um, and one, I think it'd be cool to give it to the kit. Just because he's a 19-year-old, be unbelievable. Yeah, um, it's hard, you know, to argue that Nikita Kutrov or McDavid shouldn't have it, or even McKinnon, with when they've got you know 20 more points. But as far as you know, MVP of your team, like most valuable player to your team, it would be hard to say it's not Macklin Celebrity this year, at least.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, when you and that's a great point by you. When you when you say the word most valuable player to your team, like if you're looking at the San Jose Sharks, they have 36 wins in 74 games. They are in the wildcard number two spot as we speak on a Friday, April 3rd. Good Friday. How many wins do the Man Jose Sharks have without Macklin Felabrini? I would say over under 20.

unknown

For sure.

SPEAKER_01

And I would you know what I mean? Terrible. Like they, I'm not sure if they win the American Hockey League without Macklin Fellabrini. No, you know, so if you look at Tampa Bay with Kucharoff, an incredible player, the heartbeat of that team, one of the most underrated players should have more MVPs. I think Tampa Bay slides into the playoffs if they have without Nikita Kucharoff. I think as well as the Edmonton Oilers without McDavid, they're not a playoff team. No, so you look at the teams like Colorado with Nathan McKinnon, who just scored his 50th goal, and the Tampa Bay Lighting. Okay, those two teams, I think they're both playoff teams without their star player. San Jose Sharks, definitely not, and the Edmonton Oilers, probably not either. So if it's if I'm voting and Man Jose gets in, it comes down to McDavid. And I think Celebrini for me, and I love Kucharov. Look, I've he's got a fucking 120 points. I love the guy, but most valuable to your team, it would be hard to argue it's not Macklin Celebrini.

SPEAKER_03

It would be, it would be because he doesn't have a dry settle, and he doesn't even have an Evan Bouchard on the power play, you know. So those things matter, especially when you're talking points. If you're just looking at points, and that's how you're deciding this award. But um, yeah, it'd be tough. It'd be sick if Macklin Celebrini got it. I mean, I I I like that kid. He just plays a fun game, he's obviously one of the best in the world already, and he's only 19. So it'd just be so fun for him to get it just to see, you know, that's a good start to the career.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and even like you said, Edmonton with Bouchard and Dreisidel, and you have Ryan Nugent Hopkins who's had a hundred point season. Zach Hyman's had 50 goals. Yeah, obviously a byproduct of Connor McDavid. No shit.

SPEAKER_03

Who isn't for sure, but those players help you get those points, correct?

SPEAKER_01

And he's got essentially nothing. I mean, he's making Will Smith is a good young player. Will Smith without Felabriniaso is probably a 30-point guy, you know.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah. Like, I don't know where he is and where he's at. I'm I'm I'm I'm curious to see what the point totals are for like the sharks and where they land, but he's Celebrini's gotta be way above everyone else on that team.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

He can't even be close.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's not. I think the next guy had like maybe 60, I want to say. Last time I checked. 54, Will Smith. Is so he he's got he's got double the output.

SPEAKER_03

Next to the next next to his next best player, his next best helper.

SPEAKER_01

It's 105 and then 54. I mean and he's only got two guys in the 50s for points, you know, and then it drops off to the fully's got 47.

SPEAKER_03

Who the fuck are they almost in a playoff spot? That is insane.

SPEAKER_01

It's insane, dude. Like, and they don't even have a good defenseman, like realistically, they have serviceable guys. We're you know, we're not discrediting National Hockey League defensemen, but they don't have you know, they got Dmitry Orloff runs their power play.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's that's not I don't know, look at their roster here.

SPEAKER_02

That ain't it.

SPEAKER_03

I mean he's a great player, don't get me wrong. He's not a you know, if that's your best defenseman on the team, that ain't great. No, like on a good Nick Letty.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he's he's back playing games solid. Yeah, he was in the American League at the start of the year.

SPEAKER_03

Was he?

SPEAKER_01

Yep, they sent him on waivers. I mean, Mario for Klingbird, Ferraro, okay. Yeah, it's just crazy, like what he's been able to do there is.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, even his like who's uh outside of Will Smith, who do you got next? Tefoli, but he's a little over the hill, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Tefoli. I mean, he's you know, he's a product of what celebrities still a good player, but you know, that Eklund is a decent option. Uh Wenberg's okay. You they just don't have much. I mean, Adam Godet, you know, he's having a Cy Young like season, 17 and 8. But yeah, like I mean, also, if you're looking at him, like they got a lot of guys in the 20s for points, and a lot of guys, honestly, in the tens, in the teens. It's crazy.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they when you look at that, that's when you want to argue for Macklin celebrate.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, he's had a hell of a season. So seven, eight games left. Utah, we always got our pulse on them. They had a big win last night in Pronountown in Seattle. Ozzo, before you get back to the beach, brother, we got the People's Insider Term of the Week. And this week's People's Insider Term of the Week is Manitoba Martini. Now, what a Manitoba martini is, first off, I don't think you can get a martini anywhere in this fucking province outside of Las Pegas, aka Winnipeg, Manitoba. You might be able to find one at an Earl's, say a Joey's, one of those places. But for the rest of the province, it's pretty bare, folks. And what a Manitoba martini is, well, it is crown and coke, baby. You put that thing on ice, you go over to the old liquor mart, and you say, you know what? I need a 40 a crown and I need a liter of cola, and I'm gonna get some ice, and we're gonna just gonna mix up some 90-10 stiff Manitoba martinis. You're sitting around the poker table, you're maybe at the old local lounge, say at a hotel, some motel. Well, the Manitoba martini hits different, especially when you're on the VLTs playing a little bit of slots, you're playing some poker, you're on the Indian reservation, you're in a small town like Verdon, Manitoba. Shout out to Highway 2, and you're sitting there right before the rodeo, and you're like, oh, you know what? I could use one of these. So a lot of times after a night of heavily funneling, Manitoba martinis usually results in a fight outside of a bar. But you know what? The good people and the stiff chins of Manitoba do it right. So you can't find an espresso martini in a lot of places, certainly a fancy martini, but these blue-collar people know how to make a Manitoba martini. A little crown and cola, fella. Nothing better.

SPEAKER_03

Little crown, crown and ice, splash of cola in there.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, yeah, and then go just beat the shit out of somebody.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah. You're you're definitely you're definitely chucking nuts later that night, but you that's a sacred drink up in Toba.

SPEAKER_01

It is, man. Fuck fight or hold the light. We always say it, but yeah, that is this week's People's Insider term of the week. The old Manitoba martini baby. I forgot about those, Jesus, till they get you going. Good drink. Good drink. Yeah, it's a hell of a drink. So enjoy those if you can, folks. Always booze responsibly. Ozzo, I really appreciate you taking time, brother, out of your vacation. You know what? We will see you in Vegas next Thursday. Sorry, Friday. Hope for a win on Thursday. Go sue. We're gonna trust it. Boys, get it done if you're listening. That was episode 117, I think, for the fellas.

SPEAKER_03

117, baby.

SPEAKER_01

Across the screws, on the bone, on your chin. Enjoy it, folks. Until next time. 93 1. Engage Ozzo Osmus, the captain, baby. We're going to hang nine in Vegas. We out.
