FINALLY I got shy car guy to join me on an episode. We talked about this weekend when I was visiting in Idaho as well as reminisced on the past and how we got to be where we are now. I will not lie to you. This was just a yap sesh with an old friend.
Hello, hello. Welcome to the episode of My Dating Refresh. I'm Sammy. I'm the host. If you don't know that already, I mean welcome. Thank God you're starting now instead of listening earlier on when I just sounded like a fucking idiot. Just kidding. I never sound like an idiot. Never ever ever. That's not true. Sometimes. Sometimes I just kind of talk, and that's it's part of it. That's why I enjoy podcasting. That's why I enjoy talking to myself. That's why I enjoy doing this. This little hobby. Um we have a guest today. Um it's it's a long-awaited guest. It's somebody that I think a lot of people have been interested in hearing from for a long time. Obviously. Little hoot and a half, hoot and I'm a hollerin', my buddy from my buddy from high school, my friend that I go to with my vehicle choices. Say hello, car guy. Hello. Obviously, he said hello a little bit the last episode, but this is a little different.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_05My car literally thinks we're talking to it. That is so funny. We're charging up before I leave Idaho, and then we're just like doing a little podcast. We're yapping for a second. Right? Am I just calling you car guy this entire time, or should I use your name? I haven't decided. I don't even know.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. It's up to you.
SPEAKER_05I don't know. It's up to you. He's over here sniffling.
SPEAKER_01He just got stuffy all of a sudden.
SPEAKER_05It's just because we're on microphones. You're all of a sudden like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_01Maybe.
SPEAKER_05Maybe, maybe, maybe. Anyways, Car Guy is a single guy who lives in Idaho, Boise. We had so much fun this weekend. I think we should fucking talk about that for a second, and then we can get into anything else. Car Guy, what did we do this weekend?
SPEAKER_01Uh, well, we went and got sushi right after you uh got up here.
SPEAKER_04Preach.
SPEAKER_01From what was supposed to be a recommendation, but it just disappointed.
SPEAKER_05It disappointed so bad. Well, okay, and let's be honest, I'm kind of a sushi slut. I kind of am really judgy about raw fish and what I'm getting there. And um, so it's kind of hard for me to go places like that. Which you know that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Car guy and I be getting sushi. I mean, when he used to live in Utah, we went all the time. But we be getting sushi and I be judging.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was not worth it.
SPEAKER_05No, no, and so his buddy actually recommended it to us, and we were kind of pumped. We thought it'd be good, and it wasn't that good.
SPEAKER_01No, it wasn't. We should have just gotten ramen.
SPEAKER_05No, okay, literally when we got there, I was like, we're at a sushi place, and I'm like, should we just get ramen instead? Which is hilarious, because we went to get sushi. We're a big sushi fan. We are sushi sluts, we like that raw fish. I digress. So we it was a joke I made. I was like, I'm like, oh, maybe we should get some ramen instead. And you know, we laughed, ordered our sushi, and as soon as we were leaving, car guys like, we should have gotten ramen instead. Like this flopped for sure.
SPEAKER_01Big time.
SPEAKER_05Well, and two of the rolls tasted straight like just avocado, which is funny because only one had avocado.
SPEAKER_01I was it only the one?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it was only the one. But they both tasted like it.
SPEAKER_01They both had like the Yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_05Should you imitate what I just the noise I just made?
SPEAKER_01I don't know about that.
SPEAKER_05That's what I think of when I think of like Usi Gushy Ramen, not ramen, ushy gooshi avocado, avocado, avoad. He's over here yawning, dude. I'm like talking and he's just going, Yeah. I agree. Of course, yeah. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm really struggling over here.
SPEAKER_05I know! Why? Uh we're just talking. We yap all the time.
SPEAKER_01I know, but for some reason I'm just like Are you nervous?
SPEAKER_05Are you scared?
SPEAKER_01Maybe, but I'm just like duffy and keep yawning for no reason.
SPEAKER_05You should have more of my coffee. But okay, so we went and got a sushi. And I usually get a Sapuro with my sushi, and they didn't have any. They had this other beer. What was it called? Stop fucking yawning. Oh my god!
SPEAKER_01I don't I don't remember what it was called.
SPEAKER_05It was some beer.
SPEAKER_01It was another Japanese uh beer.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it was good though.
SPEAKER_01It was good.
SPEAKER_05I had had no food all day though, so I was like, thank god car guy's driving because I was a little tipsy.
SPEAKER_01Were you?
SPEAKER_05I was you couldn't tell.
SPEAKER_01You said you were, but I couldn't really tell yet.
SPEAKER_05And before we went and got sushi, um I told you in the last episode that I was making a joke, and so I got a tattoo of Car Guy's name. And his reaction boring. Oh my gosh. He I literally show him and I had him on video and he goes, Yeah, I like it. Wasn't shocked, wasn't like appalled in it anyway, wasn't like, what the fuck are you doing? He genuinely just like, yeah, I like it. That's cool.
SPEAKER_01It was sweet.
SPEAKER_05It was for a joke, though.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but you still put ink of my nickname on you. That's and it's not it's not little.
SPEAKER_04No.
SPEAKER_01It's not huge either.
SPEAKER_04No, no, that's what she said. But it's not little. It literally ran my car, and I like showed him, and he goes, Wow, I like it.
SPEAKER_05Well, and then after we got dinner, we face eye my parents, because we've all we've all known each other for a while, right? You've met my parents a million times. Yeah. We've been buddies for a hot minute. What? Oh, I thought you were saying something. I thought I cut you off. No. It's just me, I'm cutting myself off. But um, we face high my parents, and they were not shocked either. My mom's like, ear. She's like, it's not that shocking when you do stuff anymore. And I'm like, what the hell is wrong with all of you? I thought it was gonna be this big thing where everyone's like, what the fuck are you doing? And no one gave a fuck. No one cared. Brittany thought it was hilarious. She was like, that's crazy. Fucking do it. Tell me what he says, and she was all for it. And then we sent her the video and she goes, Okay, he says so he's unfazed. And I'm like, apparently, unfazed, doesn't care.
SPEAKER_01Unfazed and excited for me. Don't look that different.
SPEAKER_05You know what's really funny is Car Guy is actually pretty expressive and has the most hilarious laugh in the entire world. I'm gonna try this entire time to get him to cackle because he's I love his laugh. His laugh's my favorite, I swear to God. And I mean that wholeheartedly. Also, lady, he's he's single. So if you want a really hilarious car guy who has a great laugh and has his name tattooed on my foot.
SPEAKER_01Can I still be car guy? Like, I don't even really have a car anymore. I have a truck.
SPEAKER_05Oh baby, that's not why you had car guy as your nickname. It was because we met well not met, but we started talking after you fixed my car, and then you fixed my car multiple times after that point. It was that's where the name Car Guy comes from. It's not because you had a fancy car. Because you didn't even have like a fancy car really when we first started talking. It was like moderately fancy, but it it's not like the Corvette you had.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it wasn't anything. I don't know. Yeah, I agree.
SPEAKER_05That's just it's just a good nickname that I can always go. Some I'll say your name and someone's like, Who? And I go, Car guy, and they go, Oh, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, car guy. And it's just it helps them like remember who you are and kind of like have an idea.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. So that's why that's your your nickname. It's it's a nickname for the girlies, it's the nickname for friends and family and and and stuff like that. And the podcast.
SPEAKER_01Makes sense.
SPEAKER_05How do you when you describe me to other people, h what do you say? Like what's a key word? Like when you go, Sammy, you know, the medical mass renew. Like, what do you say?
SPEAKER_01The girl who always does it for the bit.
SPEAKER_05Oh my god. I mean, hell yeah, brother. That's not what you say. There's no way.
SPEAKER_01Sometimes it is.
SPEAKER_05You know what? I'll take it. I'll take it. Give it to me. What else were we talking about? Oh, so we face that my parents, and then we went back and we watched a movie, and then we went to bed. And that was kind of it for the night. Um, we watched Dracula. What did you think? It's like my new favorite movie.
SPEAKER_01Um, I was really only paying attention after you fall asleep fell asleep.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I was just asleep on the couch. I was I was zonked.
SPEAKER_01So after whenever that was, I thought it was pretty good. I started to fill in with what was going on.
SPEAKER_05You should watch it.
SPEAKER_01It's it's Tate.
SPEAKER_05What the fuck? Oh, is he gonna come say hi at us? Does he even see that this is us?
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe he's looking at my location.
SPEAKER_05Maybe. Okay, wait, wait, wait. We're gonna pause real quick. Okay, so he didn't see us.
SPEAKER_03No, you did not.
SPEAKER_05Um, car guy tried to call him like three times, no answer, so he paused and ran out, and he was with his sister, and they were getting her clothes, but they didn't want to come hang out, so that's pretty fucked up.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, apparently the Adam Sandler of Connor isn't good enough for her boyfriend.
SPEAKER_05Okay, which is funny because don't I kind of look like that today? Isn't that the vibe I'm giving off?
SPEAKER_01No, because you for the Adam Sandler look, they gotta have the long basketball shorts.
SPEAKER_05The the long basketball shorts, of course, of course.
SPEAKER_01Do they even have shorts on?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_05I'm air I'm wearing an oversized T and then some shorts, because I'm driving home today, so I'm gonna be comfortable. So he was checking to see if I had shorts on. I do. I'm super modest all the time.
SPEAKER_01I know.
SPEAKER_05What? I know. You're being so weird. I promise you guys, he's really friendly and really witty. Um, and he's right now being so weird. Like I'm uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_01Why are you uncomfortable?
SPEAKER_05Because you're being weird.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. It's just hot.
SPEAKER_05It is hot. Put your foot on the brake for two seconds. Okay, sorry, all this pausing. It's it's hot in here. But we were listening, we could hear the air conditioning too much, and I was kind of losing my mind, but it is what it is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's just hot.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it's hot.
SPEAKER_00Make it stuffy.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it's roasty. It's hot here in Idaho. I have choco tan lines, and I was tan already, and now I've got Choco tan lines on my feet from the one day we spent out on the river. Yeah. Oh, speaking of which, we floated the river yesterday.
SPEAKER_01We did. That's your first time.
SPEAKER_05My first time. It's like your fourth time, right? You haven't done a lot?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I did it once on the fourth last year, and then once on the fourth this year, and then the last two weekends.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05So fun. I know. I want to go again.
SPEAKER_01No, it's it's awesome.
SPEAKER_05It's so fun. We get there, okay, and I had to pee so bad. So sweet car guy walked me to the bathroom, and then we met everybody up over by the river and pumped up our tube. We shared a little joint tube and then used paddles to kind of paddle it around. And I was kind of getting mad. I was kind of mad at you.
SPEAKER_01You were a little spicy sometimes. But I was like, whatever. I love I'm trying to have fun.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. So you're a good sport. You're a really good sport. I was trying to be really nice, but I was also like, so I was letting him guide, obviously, and um he would go, Well, paddle, paddle. Like, what way? Where are we going? Where are you trying to achieve? Like, like, give me a little bit more. And he'd be like, he'd be like, Well, I wanted to go backwards through this. And I'm like, I don't know that. I don't know what you want from me.
SPEAKER_01That's true. We figured it out. And we've been the last half, we weren't even paddling. We just hung on to somebody else.
SPEAKER_05I was so drunk. It's like not even a funny. I was I was trashed for sure. I have not been that drunk for a hot minute. Okay, so hear us out. We go to the river, we're floating. I'm I'm getting mad at Car Guy. Cause I'm like, tell me what we're doing. And he's like, Are you bugged? And I'm like, a little bit, but it's fine. I'll literally be fine. I just like to do things right. I like things to be done correctly and efficiently. That's my problem. I have a hard time like chilling when there's like a job to do.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05But we were drinking. I chilled out though. I got better.
SPEAKER_03You did.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. But we got on the river and we go to this like little like side beach party, and we shotgun beers, we hang out with everybody. I'm like just in a bikini and my Chacos.
SPEAKER_00I forgot about that. The shotgunning.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we shotgunned a beer, and so I was immediately so messed up. I'm all telling people about my podcast, and I'm like, so what do you think about the dating culture right now? God, everyone probably is so sick of me. I'm like, I need research for my podcast.
SPEAKER_04Oh, so funny though, but it was it was a good time.
SPEAKER_05We had a good time, didn't we?
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah. Yeah. It's the best.
SPEAKER_05It's the best. But I got really drunk, and then a lady walked up to Tate's sister and I. And car guy and everyone else was kind of around the way. Excuse me. And we're talking to this lady, and she's asking us for a beer. And Tate's sister is so sweet. She's like, okay, I'll get you one. Go grab her a beer. She's talking about how pretty we are. We're like in our bikinis. And I'm like, yeah, dude, get your tits out. Like, like being your bikini. This girl whips out her jug. She goes, Yeah. And she flashes both of us, and we both turn, and I'm like, Whoa! Get it. And she walks away, and Tate's sister and I are like, Oh my god, what the fuck just happened? And you didn't see this at all, did you?
SPEAKER_01No, but she tried to grab a beer off of me later.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01She was I think she was just asking everybody.
SPEAKER_05For sure. She was fucked up. Yeah. For sure. But yeah, so I got to see boobies on the river.
SPEAKER_01She was crazy.
SPEAKER_05Dude, yeah, she was crazy. Well, and then I got crazy. We got rocking and rollin' and we floated past these like 21-year-olds, like little little baby boys, right? And of course they're asking us for more beers, they're out, whatever, or they didn't like what they were drinking. So we tossed them over.
SPEAKER_04I was like, follow my Instagram.
SPEAKER_05I'm trash at this point, right? Like I'm literally drunk. And so I'm like, follow my Instagram. And they keep coming back. They're like swimming. They were being brave. They were jumping out of their little rafts and swimming over to us.
SPEAKER_01They were it was funny as fuck.
SPEAKER_05It was hilarious. It was funny as fuck. And so the one swam over, and we didn't have another one. We're like, sorry. But they gave us these little fruity, like sugary drinks.
SPEAKER_01They were a seagrum's like blood orange, something like vodka. It was full of sugar.
SPEAKER_05Fucked me up. It fucked me up. We literally we get done with it, and I'm like stumbling to the car, huh? I'm and I'm like trying to sing along, and I'm like, I'm like, I can't even talk. I'm so drunk. We got back to the house and I turned to car guy and I was like, I need food right now. Like, we have to get pizza or something. So he's a sweetheart. I get in the shower because whenever I don't feel good, I have to shower. And so everyone else is outside drinking, talking. I'm fighting for my life. I'm gagging myself to throw up in the shower. Because I'm like on a puke and rally. I never get a puke and rally. So I was like, I want to do it this time. I'm at the age where I should be able to be able to do that, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I don't think I've ever done it.
SPEAKER_05I haven't even told Cargai this part of the story. But um, but you left to go get pizza. I get in the shower, okay? I'm in the shower. I was trying to gag myself to like throw up, but I've never been able to successfully do that ever.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. He's nodding, and I'm like, you have to respond. You have to say something verbally. And I'm like gagging myself in the shower, trying not to get my hair wet either. Because I was like, I want to go hang out with everybody. And if my hair's soaking wet, I won't be able to. So I but I knew that if my hair got wet, I couldn't hang out with everybody. I was like, I'll just end up going to bed, okay? So I'm in the shower gagging myself, trying to throw up anything. And um I do gag myself to the point where I'm like, I'm like, you know, and you're like, you got the re like the reflex. Like you're gonna throw up. Nothing comes out. Nothing.
SPEAKER_01Nothing.
SPEAKER_05Nothing comes out. And so I'm like, fuck. But after it, I did it a couple times, I felt better. I was like, oh, maybe my body just needed to be like, oh, you tried. Good job, girly. Like, right? So I go and I lay, um, Car Guy was very nice. He let me borrow his bed all weekend and he's up on the couch. And because he's a gentleman, obviously.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Obviously. You see his face right now.
SPEAKER_01I'm just surprised he didn't blow that in my face.
SPEAKER_05Oh, don't say that. I'm super nice. I would never do that to you. Yeah. Who are you? Okay, he's being so weird, but it's fine. So, um, so I get out and I get dressed and I go lay on your bed, okay? And you're gone. I'm trying to like check your location and it won't pull up for me. So I was like, okay, oh my god, I don't know where he is. So I'm laying there. You know when you're like drunk and you're like half asleep, and you're just like, oh my god, and you kinda like wake up a little bit because you're like spinning, and then you like fall asleep again, and you like wake up and you're like spinning.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. 100%.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. So that was happening to me. I was kind of just like back and forth spinning a little bit. And finally I sat there and I went, Sammy, you just gotta throw up. You have to like actually throw up. So I go into your bathroom and I kneel in front of the toilet and I pull up both seats and I just I just hug the rim. And not only do I have my fingers down my throat back and forth, I'm also burping. Because something you know about me is that when I burp hot dogs, it means I'm actually gonna throw up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05So I'm burping, trying to get that hot dog flavor to just like pop into my brain. That's gross. So I'm on my knees in your bathroom in front of your toilet, hugging the rim of the bowl for sure. Which I'm sorry, but I bet it's not that clean, is it?
SPEAKER_01I cleaned it not that long ago.
SPEAKER_05But you do live with a bunch of men.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, who have been gone.
SPEAKER_05Okay, okay. I thought he was gonna laugh and be like, yeah, probably not, but instead he's like, no, it's super clean. What are you fucking talking about, Samantha?
SPEAKER_01In between.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Yeah. Oh, I don't remember being horrible, but I was also trashed, so.
SPEAKER_01Also cleaned it up a little bit before you showed up. Just tidied it.
SPEAKER_05You what?
SPEAKER_01I just had to tidy it. I didn't have to like do a deep, deep clean like I did like three weeks ago.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Car guy's been tidying stuff up. He's been he's been doing nice stuff while his roommates are. They his roommates work in different states majority of the time, so he's pretty good at being there and like taking care of it. He's a good boy. You're a good boy.
SPEAKER_01Most of the time.
SPEAKER_05Most of the time. Most of the time. So um so I finally I get to the point where I throw up, okay? And it barely like it barely comes out, and then I do it again, and finally, uh success. Okay. It's pure orange from those drinks.
SPEAKER_01Disgusting. I knew it. I took a sip of one of those, and I was like, uh-uh, can't do it. It's gonna give me a hangover.
SPEAKER_05Well, and you know, like when you throw up and you just immediately feel a little better. Like you do, like you genuinely feel a little better.
SPEAKER_01Not when I'm drinking. I've never gotten that.
SPEAKER_05Really?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01You know, it always gets worse if I'm drinking and have to throw up. It it's just gonna get worse.
SPEAKER_05See, here's the thing is if I throw up and then go to bed, I'll wake up feeling a little better, but I'll probably be sick all day. If I go to bed when drinking and I feel like I have to throw up and I don't, I'll wake up so sick. This is the first time I've ever thrown up before, and then I literally brushed my teeth. You got there, I brushed my teeth, I came out, and I tried to eat pieces of pizza. I had two pieces. I went to eat the cheesy bread though, and I was like, like made me gag immediately. I was disgusted.
SPEAKER_01You had also had nothing to eat all day.
SPEAKER_05I know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Why do I think I can do that? In my head, I'm like, I'll have like a beer or two on the river. And I had way more than that for sure.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's usually how it goes.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah. Next time I'll be better. I just didn't want to be like bloated. I wanted to be all skinny and hot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but when we're all just drinking, I don't think we're thinking about that. You'll think so? I'm not.
SPEAKER_05I'm thinking about that.
SPEAKER_01I'm just having a good time.
SPEAKER_05True. I was having a good time. But yeah, I came out and then I drank a little more. I even had two more beers after that. Once I started feeling better, I had two more beers, and then we just dominated.
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_05Absolutely sloshed everyone.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we did. In beer pong.
SPEAKER_05In beer pong.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05How many times did we win?
SPEAKER_01Six.
SPEAKER_05Six times in a row, mind you. And we didn't we never broke the streak. We just decided we didn't want to play anymore.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, we played everybody and like every other combination of people that were there.
SPEAKER_05Dude, that one guy was getting like so aggressive with it. He wanted to beat us so bad.
SPEAKER_01Which one? Nick?
SPEAKER_05No, the other one. The one that we were kind of teasing.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_05He he wasn't like mad, but he wanted to win so bad, and he kept okay, and I'm not mean, but I was a little drunk, and I kind of hate when men are pushy, right? You know that about me. And he kept being like, so when are we gonna switch teams? When are we gonna switch partners? What are we gonna I was like, I'm like, oh no, I think I'm good with I'm I'm good with car guy. This is who I wanna I wanna play with car guy. And then later I turned up Tate in front of this guy and I go. I go in front of him and I go. I smacked his leg, so he's he looks up. I was sorry.
SPEAKER_01I was you smacked the cord, so I'm sorry. He was making noise. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_05But so in front of that guy, I turn to Tate and I go, so when are we gonna spot spot partners? Are we gonna be partners soon?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, just to dig at him. Always doing it for the bit. No, we love it though.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it's it's funny. I wasn't trying to be mean, but I was also like, I'm I'm like, I don't want to play with you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, just getting to be too much for I think a lot of people.
SPEAKER_05And I'm not gonna name names, but there wasn't another person that was like getting mean. Like he was pissed that we were still winning.
SPEAKER_00That's true.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, he was mad. He was trying to fight us for sure. So, and then we you and I finished up. We were done. We were I was so tired. I knew I had to drive home today, which literally I'm like hours behind, but say Lavi, what are you gonna do? It's fine. We went and got breakfast um at Black Bear Diner. Um, car guy paid, like a good boy. He's always he's so caring, he's always just taking care of people. I appreciate that about you. But um it's like our little, we used to just have so many little friend dates, you know, and I think that that's important. I've talked about this in other episodes before about like how important it is to have friend dates and people that you can go do stuff with, and you're a gentleman and you just you take care of stuff like that. And I think that's really cool, and I think that's a good quality, and I think it helps prepare you for what you're looking for in life.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think so. Just practice.
SPEAKER_05That's what I am, a bunch of practice, huh? Eo, give me that high five. So then we went to bed and we both fell asleep in your room this time because we were watching a movie and we were drunk and we zonked. We're buddies, it's a little sleepover, it's fine. Um, again, car guy's a gentleman. No fear there ever. But we were asleep, and all of a sudden, someone barges into the room.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like 3 a.m.
SPEAKER_05Oh my god. Do you guys have any alcohol wipes or something to clean up blood? And I'm like, I'm like half asleep, and I'm like, no, I I'm sorry. Everything okay? And he's like, no, no, no, do you guys want me to wipe? And he stood there for so long.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, kept asking, and you're like, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_05Car guy was mad. He did not respond at all.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I was so bugged. Well, I'm gonna get back to sleep after that. For like over an hour. I could.
SPEAKER_04You couldn't.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I couldn't. Yeah, no. I was so bugged. I went right back to sleep. I don't even know this guy who just barges into my room at three in the morning when I'm dead asleep.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_05Dude, yeah, no. It was yeah. Well, and I didn't really like him from the beginning, honestly. He uh showed up, I can't remember what it was, but oh, I was talking to Parkland, okay, and he comes and sits down, and she goes to offer me her vape, and I go, Oh no, thank you. I don't do that. And she goes, Oh, okay. He goes, a no would have been fine. And I look at Parkland, I look at him, and I'm like, um, I'm just communicating that I just don't do that, so she doesn't have to worry about it again. And he goes, It's not that deep. And I was like, This conversation is not that deep. And she's like, she jumps in and she goes, I liked it. She's like, I like to know what Sammy likes and doesn't like. And he's like, So you guys are getting enough on me. He's like, I'm just saying, you could have just said no, and that could just be to understand that you don't want it. And I'm like, yeah, but if I say no, I don't do that, it means you don't have to ever ask me again because I don't do that, but thank you. It was it wasn't like a mean thing, it wasn't, I just was communicating so that she knows, oh, I don't gotta worry about being nice and asking Sammy if she wants a hit on my bait because Sammy doesn't do that. It was not that big of a deal, but he was trying to fight us about it. And then he literally was talking to her about rocks for like 30 fucking minutes. And he picked up pieces of concrete and he was chucking at everybody playing beer pong before you and I got up and started dominating.
SPEAKER_01That's true. I threw a couple, but the fuck? For what reason? I was trying to make it in their cups. I wasn't trying to hit the hit the people.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that was that's the guy that barged into your room last night, though. Yeah. Yeah. The one that literally was trying to fight her and I. And she was nice and she tried to choose like being friendly and talking about rocks, but I was bugged. I was like, you jump into our conversation and you say that I said something completely wrong. When reality, it was not a wrong way to say things. I'm I I was communicating that I'm like, I don't really do that. And it wasn't even like a thought-out thing. Like I wasn't like, okay, I gotta make sure I say it like this so she knows to never ask me again. No, I just was like, oh yeah, I don't do that. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think he just he just wanted to start fight.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And argue over the dumbest things.
SPEAKER_05The dumbest things. And then he invited those two other dudes that were there. Who else was fucking there? It was a sausage fest.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean, well, that guy was just weird. And yeah. Doing weird things.
SPEAKER_05Well, we still haven't found out who was bleeding.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_05Did someone get in a fight? Like what happened? What did we miss?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I'm sure I'll I'll find out.
SPEAKER_05And why do you have to come ask us who are asleep and have been asleep for hours if we had stuff to clean it up? I just didn't get that, but I'm sure he was he was just messed up. Like, I'm not hate on him, but I was like, damn, that guy fucking was pissing me off.
SPEAKER_00Uh drugs.
SPEAKER_05He he must have been coked out too, right? Did he seem like he was?
SPEAKER_00Oh, 100%.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Yeah, it was it was wild. But yeah, everyone else was pretty fun. We we had our few things, we kind of bullied people about. It was it was weird vibes for sure. But I just thrived on the fact that we were killing it in beer pong, and everyone was kind of losing their mind.
SPEAKER_01They kinda were.
SPEAKER_05Everyone was mad. Can I tell can I tell the story about beer pong from years ago? Yeah. Yeah. Okay, so little side thing. Car guy and I dated a couple years ago, right after I got divorced, right? Um, we knew each other in high school.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Vaguely. Vaguely. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Which is funny because when I got divorced, Car Guy messaged me at like 10 o'clock at night on Snapchat and was like, sorry to hear about your divorce. And I remembered being like, what the hell? Why is this guy messaging me?
SPEAKER_01Because I think I just remembered you messaging me a few times on Snapchat. Like when I was in my dumb teenage looking for attention sometimes. And you'd give me a little bit of attention, and you were just being kind, so I was just I think I just thought the same. I'd just reach out and say something.
SPEAKER_05What do you mean I'd give you attention? Like I can't remember I don't remember messaging you, but did I like message you and see how you were doing? Or like I can't remember.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you were just letting me know. Like, if I needed anything, you'd be there.
SPEAKER_05I I'm so nice.
SPEAKER_01And I totally had forgotten about that until I had found some of those messages recently. Oh yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05What are you doing?
SPEAKER_01Trying to fix my shoes.
SPEAKER_05Why'd you choose to fix your shoes while we were recording?
SPEAKER_01Good question. Don't have another.
SPEAKER_05Or literally while you were talking. You're telling a story and he's all and then to and it's true.
SPEAKER_04Put your hand in your pocket.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_04Distracted boy. Don't pout. Don't give me a poopy.
SPEAKER_05Don't give me a poopy face. Good God. But uh just a joke. But um, where where were we? Oh, basically, I messaged you at some point. And what's funny is I don't remember how we got each other Snapchats, anything, but we've known each other for a long time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. And I don't know.
SPEAKER_05I have no clue why. We think we might have been in the same Trek like group back when we did Trek.
SPEAKER_01It's the only reasonable explanation.
SPEAKER_05Which Trek, for those of you who don't know, we live in Utah. Well, lived. He does not anymore. We grew up in Utah and we were in the same stake. We went to the same high school, middle school, all that jazz. We have a lot of friends that were all friends. Um that's how we started becoming friends, anyways. But um we every time I say a white truck, I'm like, but Trek, for those of you who don't know, is basically a church group thing. It's an um it is a Latter-day Saint thing that they the youth go out and we dress up like the pioneers, which are a lot of our ancestors. Like my all my ancestors are pioneers from like England and Ireland and all that stuff. I don't know if you knew that. Like all of my ancestors. Yeah. And so um, like the like all the pioneers. But so you dress up as like pioneers and we go on this like little spiritual outing and we pretend to be in families and we act stuff out. I remember I died at the end, and so I had to like walk a separate path from my family.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I don't remember things like that happening.
SPEAKER_05But we think we're in the same trek group, and we could dig and find out for sure. We just haven't over the years, which is so funny because I am I am curious about it. I do have that curiosity of how that came about.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Either way, either way, I digress. But oh, I was telling a story. Okay, but we basically right after I got divorced, we dated for a little bit, not very long. Like a month, month and a half, maybe. Went to some parties.
SPEAKER_01It was nothing crazy.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, a couple dates, nothing crazy, and then I met my other boyfriend and I broke up with Car Guy and Well, there we go. But either way, but there was one party we went to and we got trashed. Well, I got trashed. I was drunk, so drunk.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you were.
SPEAKER_05In fact, like I cried yesterday, remember on the drive back, and I was like, I'm so annoying and I'm so drunk, and he's like, Shut up, you're literally fine.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04He's so nice to me.
SPEAKER_01But um be mean to you and make it worse? No. Because you're not too much, you're not too annoying, you're not annoying.
SPEAKER_05Oh. Do you prefer sober Sammy or drunk Sammy?
SPEAKER_01Um, it depends where I'm at. What do you mean?
SPEAKER_05Go into detail a little bit. What do you mean?
SPEAKER_01Because if I'm just completely sober, drunk Sammy might be more difficult to deal with. I don't know. I just don't like I don't like being around really drunk people if I'm sober at all. It's like not just against like you. It's just in general. Yeah, it's hard.
SPEAKER_05It's definitely hard. It's hard. I get it. I'm I'm mad.
SPEAKER_01They're both fun for different reasons.
SPEAKER_05Valid, valid, valid, valid. But anyways, we're out a we're at a party, right? Okay. Goodbye, Car. We're at a party, right? Um this is probably my second that was my second time playing beer pong ever. Because I was so innocent.
SPEAKER_01Was it? Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Because we played it at a party like a week or so before that, and then we went to it was like a New Year's Eve party.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was New Year's Eve. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. And I was drunk, and I get overly friendly with everybody when I'm drunk. Huh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean you're just friendly in general.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Well then Car Guy is Car Guy is very friendly and he's very funny. But he is a little more like to himself. So he kind of just like hangs out and like listens to see what's going on. Yeah. Yeah. Like literally right now.
SPEAKER_01What?
SPEAKER_04You're being so weird.
SPEAKER_01Am I? I'm just I'm just hanging out like you said I do. You just kind of listen and hang out, and like, yeah. He just goes. Sometimes I just forget to respond. I know, I just want you to talk. Even in like face-to-face conversations, like I've I'll forget to text people back, but sometimes I'll just forget to respond to people face to face, which is kind of funny.
SPEAKER_05Literally, at breakfast this morning, I asked you a question and you look off and you were like I don't know. But it wasn't even like a question that like I don't know how to explain it. You just were in your own world and you're like Yeah, I don't know. It was like you didn't have to respond, but you ended up responding like so much later.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04You just spit all over your shirt, by the way. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05It was weird. It like flew out of your mouth. Anyways, is this gonna embarrass you this the rest of the story? No, but it's it's hot in here. You gotta turn the car back on, buddy. He was roasting. It's hot in here. And I can deal with the hot, but he's having a hard time. Don't like. Don't like.
SPEAKER_01That makes my nose is stuffy worse. And I can't breathe at all.
SPEAKER_05Which is crazy, because you got you got like a good size like snause.
SPEAKER_01What do you mean?
SPEAKER_05It's there. You have room to breathe.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but when only half of it works, it's what happened to the other half. Uh it's usually blocked off a little bit. I don't know. Pretty sure I have a deviated septum or something. Oh, for sure.
SPEAKER_05I bet you do.
SPEAKER_01From that's a that's a different story. You gotta finish your story first.
SPEAKER_05Okay, okay, okay. He's like, please keep talking. I'm stressing out. But um, so we're at this party, I'm trashed. At this point, we're all playing beer pong. I don't think you even you were my partner. I was playing with somebody else, and you were watching us play.
SPEAKER_01No, I was your partner. Are you sure? Yeah, because we were gonna play and I was in uh you were like, I'm not that good, and I was like, it's fine, I'll carry you. Which is not true. It didn't end up that way. It's funny.
SPEAKER_05I don't I'm I'm like not good at it, but I'm not good at shooting as much, but I'm a great defense.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but you made like all the shots I came.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, true. And last night I did a ton.
SPEAKER_01You did a ton.
SPEAKER_05I did I was sh I got the final uh cup like three times, and I've Never ever ever ever ever gotten the final cup.
SPEAKER_01Just a good team.
SPEAKER_05I was locked in.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I was getting mad at you last night. I'm competitive though.
SPEAKER_01And but did we lose?
SPEAKER_05No. But if I throw the ball and it starts to come back and you're not already ready to try to grab it off the table so we can shoot again, I'm gonna be mad. I was like, I was like, cargo.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, a little bit. Just a little spicy.
SPEAKER_04He's such a good sport.
SPEAKER_05But anyways, so I'm at the point of drunk at this party that I have all the men's hats stopped in my head. Huh?
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05For what reason? Who fucking knows? Because I'm making friends, I guess. So we're dominating, we're shooting, whatever. And I don't remember this really. I remember playing. I remember being drunk. I remember hats on my head. I remember being like, what a fucking crazy night. I remember kind of like rocking and rolling. But the coward guy told me this months later. When we were just friends. But um, you know that feeling when you look at somebody and you go, Wow, maybe I love them. And then you go, what am I talking about? Especially when you're drunk and someone like does something and you're like, maybe I want them. Then you go, I don't want that person. What am I talking about? Basically, the way he described it to me, and he can jump in and fix it every he wants to, but apparently I turned towards him and I did that move. What would you call it? Where you like you you put your fist together down low and you're like flexing.
SPEAKER_01I don't know what you call it, but you were just you were just hyped.
SPEAKER_05I was hyped. I turned over and I go, And and Car Guy watches that and goes, Wow, I love her. And he's like, What the fuck am I talking about? It's like like weeks or months or maybe years later, you told me that story. And so to this day, I tease him and I'll tell people, yeah, that's the moment he fell in love with me. That's when I'm gonna telephone at our wedding.
SPEAKER_01Funny.
SPEAKER_05Oh, that's another joke we have. I was talking about that in the last one. Um, that since we've been friends for so long, everyone thinks we're supposed to be together. And so we just make jokes about being in love and getting married. Except I'm not joking. You're no, I'm not. I got your name tattooed on my foot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but then you say you hate where I live, so I can love you and hate the state you live in.
SPEAKER_05I don't hate okay. Let's back up a little bit.
SPEAKER_01I pushed a button.
SPEAKER_05I I don't hate where you live. I just don't want to live here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Just kidding. Yeah, it's just a joke.
SPEAKER_04So funny.
SPEAKER_05So funny. But it's been a long journey since then, huh? We we talk a lot about like growth and personal growth as well. It was like just understanding the world and being more positive.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Like I don't know. We just share our perspectives with each other, but I don't know, just I think you have to share and see different perspectives in life to be able to cope with everything. Like you can't get stuck in one in one thought process and think, well, that's it.
SPEAKER_05I think you've gotten a lot better with that. I think you were definitely a lot more negative years and years ago. And like I've I've seen it. I think you've done a lot to really change the way you look at the world. Because personally, I th I we've spoken of this, but positivity isn't something you just like you ooze at all times. You have to practice it. That is like a conscious decision to practice and look at something and go, well, that was annoying, that sucks, but at least this. Like me driving here, and I was like, Uh, it sucks. I have to charge twice because it's so far away, I'm gonna be somewhere there so much longer. But then I was like, oh, but I can record while I'm charging. I can I can get some stuff done in that way, and that will work out, and then I get I'm at least I have the day off, and so I can spend all Friday driving, get there that night, we can go do stuff, and then I'm scotch-free until the rest of the weekend.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean you gotta you gotta find even if it's just something little, even if something didn't go the way you planned, you probably learned something, and that's positive. You can take that and use that for new experiences. For sure. And that's if it's even if it's just so the smallest thing, I mean it's it's a win. Still. You gotta look at that that way.
SPEAKER_05Hundred percent. Well, and personally, I feel like you aren't given things that you can't handle. So it's like whatever comes along, you're given it to be handled. I mean, do I believe in God? I don't know. I don't know what I really believe in, but I do believe in like a little bit like the universe, and things are supposed to happen a certain way, be a certain reason, and you're supposed to just kind of take it how you go, but things only come to you if you can handle them. So why not look at them positively? Like you stub your toe in the morning, ouch, that sucks. But you know what? Maybe I needed a little extra boost to wake me up.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05It takes practice, it's hard, it's not easy. I think that's why it makes me mad when other people are like constantly negative. Because like I get complaining. I do complain. I am a complainer about a lot of things sometimes. Like if I'm really frustrated, I complain. But I've worked really hard to make it where it's like I do my complaining, and then it's like you fucking get over it and you find the best in it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I might not be a quitter, but I'm a complainer. You are I'll get it done, but you're gonna claim about it.
SPEAKER_05You haven't laughed at all during this podcast, and I'm really mad at you.
SPEAKER_01What are you talking about?
SPEAKER_05You've barely laughed. It makes me so mad. Do you not think I'm funny anymore?
SPEAKER_01I've been laughing.
SPEAKER_05You didn't answer my question.
SPEAKER_01You're funny. I still think you're funny.
SPEAKER_05When did you stop thinking I was funny?
SPEAKER_01Never.
SPEAKER_05What made you stop thinking I was funny? Like what what was the changing point?
SPEAKER_01I don't know, because it doesn't exist.
SPEAKER_05I just want um I want my new ring, like phone call ring to be just car guy's laugh on repeat. Because I think it would just like it would bring extra joy to my life for sure.
SPEAKER_01Why?
SPEAKER_05I don't know. I just really like your laugh. Like there's few laughs that I really like, but yours, I hear it and I'm like, I fucking won in life.
SPEAKER_01That's funny.
SPEAKER_05Well, and it's it's hard to get you to like okay, here's the thing though, is you're giggly. You're a very giggly guy, for sure. Like little things make you laugh, but but when you do get laughing, you're a hoot and a holler, hoot and a half.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I think so. Thank you. What?
SPEAKER_05You're I just you're just being weird today, but it's okay. It's not a big deal. Everyone's gonna be like, okay, so why did she bring Car Guy on? Because he's fucking hilarious. I was waiting for a little bit of a a rockin' and rollin'. Car guy, how long have you been single for?
SPEAKER_01Too long, like I don't know. I don't know what counts at this point as what was what I would have considered it a relationship or not. I don't know.
SPEAKER_05What do you think you've been doing in that time, like of of being single? Like are were you actively pursuing or were you just kind of like enjoying your single time? Like what what were you doing?
SPEAKER_01No, a lot of it was personal. People were to be honest, just miserable. But that was other things going on in life that I had to fix.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I had to I had to learn to love myself first. Which I think I struggled with that for a while.
SPEAKER_05For sure. For sure, for sure. How do you feel like dating's gotten easier now that because you're you're feeling more confident now.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01In a lot of ways.
SPEAKER_05No. Well, how are you putting yourself out there? What's your what are your your tactics right now? How are you getting out there? How are you dating? How are you meeting people?
SPEAKER_04He's not.
SPEAKER_01It's true. Keep myself pretty busy doing other stuff. I don't know. Yeah. I try to just go normal places more often. Like go to the store multiple times a week. Yeah. Just to see if I see somebody. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Cause But do you approach them? Car guy didn't ask me out until he was fixing my car and I told him that he like realized that I I'm cool and I can hang. Cause our mutual friend Kasen was like, Oh, you should tell him that we should all get together and party sometime. And I said that and he perked up immediately. I was like, what the fuck? That was the changing point.
SPEAKER_01I just Yeah, I didn't know who you were.
SPEAKER_05But if you thought I was attractive, why wouldn't you shoot your shot before that? Why did I have to give you that little extra push? Because it wasn't like I I wasn't trying to date you at that point. I was kind of seeing somebody else. But what do you th like why do you think it was because I kind of like made that comment? And that comment wasn't even a flirty comment. It was like a it was literally like a a a thing about who I like what I was doing at the time.
SPEAKER_01No, it wasn't it wasn't that comment that got me to ask you out. It was somebody else pushing me, but that's what that comment is what I guess opened opened me up to Exploring it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah. Should we set some goals for you today in dating?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Maybe yes.
SPEAKER_05Okay, better answer. There you go. Good job. Perfect. Okay. Something I'm trying right now is to date on dating apps with intention, right? You're only swiping on people that you think are attractive and you're not like you're not just like swiping just to swipe, right? You're swiping on people you think are attractive and who um have the same goals as you, obviously. And then you're asking out before you you talk. You're not making no pen pals. I think the problem that we all have in dating apps right now is like pen pals. We all just like chat for a little bit and then it gets boring, because that is boring.
SPEAKER_01Well, it does get boring. I mean, what's more boring is just no response. True.
SPEAKER_05But then yeah, you just unmatch them. Remove them. I've forgotten to respond to people before, and they like call me out and get mad, and I'm like, that's not gonna do anything for you. What am I gonna turn on and be like, I'm so sorry? Let me just get back to responding to you. I hate that. I might just unmatch me. If you're mad at the resp like response time I have, just unmatch me.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. So that's one goal I personally set. I don't know how you feel about that. Another thing is like I am trying really hard just to approach people. Like I'm just trying to like talk and meet and like go up. If I think smells attractive, just go up to them. Say, hey, you're cute. Let me get your number. It is so scary. But it feels so good after.
SPEAKER_01I have this new does, but yeah. I don't I don't know. I think I I just overthink it. Yeah. And if I think too much about it, I'm not gonna do it. Mm-hmm. Well, and that's it just gets worse.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and that's why I've started doing that. I've I've had a theory for a long time. Like when you're getting up in the morning, what are you doing? What was that? Nothing. Are you signing at me? No. He's doing weird finger stuff.
SPEAKER_01Don't say that.
SPEAKER_04You were. You were doing weird finger things.
SPEAKER_01No, stop.
SPEAKER_05You like threw me off. But what I was saying is I've had a theory for a long time that if you just stand up, you can just go get do anything. Like that's all you have to tell your brain is instead of going, what am I gonna say? What am I gonna do? You gotta go. I just gotta stand up. I just gotta start walking that way, and it'll just it'll just happen. And I do that when I get up in the morning, because if I don't just get up, I'll be like, oh, but like if I I could do this, or I could think about like what I want to wear, I could and it's just like you're just taking up all this time working it through. But if you can just stand up and just go do something, easy. But the the first thought is to stop thinking about what you want to do and just go, I just gotta stand up.
SPEAKER_01You just gotta do something. Yeah, you just gotta stand up. You gotta walk that way. Yeah. Anything you want in life. I think you just you can't get caught up in every single detail until the end. You just gotta start.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01No matter where you start, just do something. Mm-hmm. And yeah, it's hard to take my own advice sometimes.
SPEAKER_05Oh, it's so hard. It's so hard. Literally, I told you the story about last weekend when I got the number from those two guys. Yeah. And I had to just stand up and walk over. I had to just get up and go. Or else I wasn't gonna do it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And it and then that's the thing is once you stand up and I start walking that way. Did Kaylee say that I got up really aggressive? Absolutely. But nonetheless, I did get up and I just went and did it. That's another goal I have. I think you've been working really hard on just like being more positive though. It's like we were talking about a minute ago. Isn't that something you told me that you're just kind of working on right now?
SPEAKER_01Being positive?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, I've been working on it for a while now. And yeah, I've gotten better. But I mean, we all go through, I think, slumps.
SPEAKER_05What when I snapped at you that one time, was that a changing point for you?
SPEAKER_01Absolutely.
SPEAKER_05Can I tell that story?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05When we were when we were seeing each other. Um, we woke up one morning and it was like a Saturday, huh? And we'd been up late, but I was pretty excited to like be there and like do stuff. And we get up and um car guy's hungry and he wants his coffee, and I'm like, let's go to Starbucks. So we get in the car and he's kind of grouchy and he's driving us, and we get to Starbucks, and the line is really long, and he's like, Oh my god, this line is so long.
SPEAKER_04And I'm like, but then we can sit and yap together.
SPEAKER_05Like, I'm just being fucking. I'm just I'm just doing that thing where I like just well, but at least we can sit and talk together for a while. Like, it'll be fun. Yeah. And we get our coffee, so just start dripping back. And at this point, every single little thing, he's like, he's just complaining about everything. Like, he just, it's almost. I think it'll bug me more is I was like, I'm like, he doesn't fucking want me here. I'm like, why am I fucking here if he doesn't want me here? Which wasn't the case. You just were you were tired. But we're driving and he's complaining. I turned to him, and it was very stern, not like loud, but stern. And I was like, you are ruining my day. I'm trying to have a good day and you're ruining it. And he was like, sorry. And we just sat quietly the entire drive. We get back to your place and you're trying to he's like trying to be nice to me. He's like, You want to watch a movie? You want to hang out? I'm like, nah, I'm going home. And he was like, fuck.
SPEAKER_01It's exactly what I thought. I was like, well, I guess that's what I get for being an idiot.
SPEAKER_05It was like it was like later you told me too about that experience specifically. You were like, you're like, I gained a lot of respect for you that day. Because people don't usually get snappy with you.
SPEAKER_01No, they don't. Usually I'm the one to get snappy, to be fair.
SPEAKER_05I know. And I'm not as snappyest, but I'll speak my mind for sure. Yeah. And I'm comfortable with you, so it's pretty easy for me to like, like literally on the river yesterday, where I was like, what do you want from me? I'm like, you have to explain. And he's not a good sport. He's just like, he's like, sorry, I just it was it was going too fast. I didn't know what else is I didn't know how to explain it. I was trying to explain it in fewer words. And he's like, Well, if I say road, just go forward. I'm like, I'm like, yeah, but where are you trying to go? I'm like, fucking explain it. What do you mean?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But I don't know. You're one of the only people who like even communicate that well. That like you're not being communicated the way you want to be communicated to. And because most people just they just shut down, they don't tell you, they get angry, and then you're like, Well, what did I do? And well, they didn't just if they had just communicated with you, things probably would resolve pretty easily. For sure. But because they bottle it up and let it just eat at them, and they're like, Oh, you're just a terrible person. Start throwing fits. Being babies.
SPEAKER_05And leaving parties early after pouting in a corner.
SPEAKER_04That's an inside joke, sorry.
SPEAKER_05No, it's true. It is true. I do. And I like to be communicated to a certain like to a certain degree. I am my highest love language is absolutely words of affirmation. And it kind of relates with everything in life. Like I'm like, I want to I want you to tell me exactly what your brain's thinking. And I'm like, I don't want little shortcuts. I don't want little, I don't remember what we were talking about this morning, but I was getting kind of like spicy with you then too, because you were kind of giving me like a yeah, maybe, or this. And I'm like, yes or no. Say, yes, I want to go do this. Yes, I want to go get breakfast. Don't that's what it was. We're talking about breakfast. But I was like, you're like, yeah, we could, or we could go here. And I'm like, well what sounds better? And you're like, well, we could, or like maybe, and I'm like, fucking yes or no. I'm like, I've told you my answer. Tell me your answer. Because I'm like, I want to go get breakfast. I wanted to do this, and you're giving me maybe. I'm like, no, maybe. We've discussed the option, we discussed the reasons, we discussed the pros and cons of these different places. Now, give me a fucking yes or no. I don't want to go with the flow. I wanna I wanna make a decision.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you do.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. And I'm pretty blunt about that. I'll be like, no, no, no, no. I'm like, try again. Thanks. I know. That's I it's that's such a bad habit that I say.
SPEAKER_01Did you just say fix it?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, ex explain that a little bit. Explain what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_01I don't remember the first time you said said it to me, but I remember the first time. You just It did something you wrong or I was doing something the wrong way, and you're just like fix it. And I'm like alright.
SPEAKER_05I'm like, what you know how I want it done. Fix it. It's so rude. Who did I say that to last night? It wasn't to you, it was to somebody else.
SPEAKER_01Uh I said it to somebody, I think, for you.
unknownDid you?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, maybe that's what you're remembering. I can't remember who you're doing. I can't remember.
SPEAKER_05I thought you were repeating me, but maybe you weren't. What was it? Well, it was something silly though. We were playing we were playing beer pong. And and you're like, fix it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't remember anything.
SPEAKER_05They did something that like wasn't bad, but like it was kind of like not good. It was the best way to explain it is fix it is and I it's so bad, it's such a bad habit. But in my head, it's like, you know what I want, you know how I wanted it done, you know what I was asking of you, and you did it wrong. So I go, fix it. The first time I ever said it to Car Guy, and I actually felt bad after. I felt really bad. I was really spicy, but I'd had a really horrible day, right? And nothing was going right. And um, I called him and I was like, can we please just go on like a drive? Can we go get goodies, something like a little a snack or a sippy sip, something? And you pulled up, and in my head, I was like, I just want to get out of my car, go straight to your car, we can leave. I'm like, I don't want to worry about like because he's a sweetheart and he'll open my door for me always. But I'm like, I didn't want your, I wanted your AC to be going. I wanted to get straight from my car to here. I was like in front of my house, but I'm like, I don't want my roommates to see me. I wasn't in the mood to talk to anybody else, you know. Just like in my head, I was like, it'll be faster if I just get into the car. And did I communicate that? No. But I was overwhelmed and I was like spicy about something. Oh yeah. It was something, something was going on, and I was like overwhelmed and kind of um what's the word? Overstimulated. I was a little overstimulated.
SPEAKER_01I I remember exactly what it was, but you don't need to. Okay, I don't remember what it is. Inside story.
SPEAKER_05Inside story. Okay, I was like, I can't remember what it is, but you'll have to tell me later. I was like, if it's an inside story, then maybe it's not talked about on here. But I was overstimulated and I was pissed. And I get out of the car and start walking, and he is already out, and I go, uh-uh, fix it. And he goes, Oh, and he gets back into the car. He knew what I was talking about. And he gets back into the car, and I get in and I sit down, and I'm like, I'm so sorry. I was like, that was not on purpose, I'm sorry. I'm like, I'm like, I'm um, that was not nice of me. But he's such a good sport because he just went, oh, okay. He knew and you knew I was like, I'm overstimulated. Like you knew I was, and so you were a good sport. You weren't your your feelings weren't hurt, huh?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_05No.
SPEAKER_01Stuff like that doesn't really get to me. I don't take it personally.
SPEAKER_05No. That's how we're good friends, is like we do, and I think I only really talk to you like that sometimes, which I'm sorry, but for some reason I do. Or like Britney. It's not as Brittany stuff, that stuff and I go, that was stupid. What are you doing? And it's just because I'm blunt. I'm very, I'm very straightforward immediately. And you are as well.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05We talk about stuff all the time, or like um, Car Guy is actually really sweet and appreciates my advice, which I love. I think it's really cool. But you'll call and ask me how to approach things with other people, and we'll go through and we'll talk about how to talk about it because we're very similar that way that if I don't think about what I want to say sometimes, even though it has good intentions, I come out very mean sometimes.
SPEAKER_01Alright, just use words that will that kind of mean something completely different and well what I've heard from a lot of people is my tone is off. And so they don't understand that sometimes when I'm actually just trying to be helpful, like I'm across as aggressive.
SPEAKER_05Yes, yeah. I'm the same way. Where it's like my tone sounds angry, but in reality, I'm just sometimes I'm monotone when I'm just like talking about something. Or like I'm asking something. And it does sound like I'm mad. Sometimes I'll I'll say something and I go, I'm not mad. Sorry. Um, I want to be helpful. Like, what do you need? Like I I'll like rephrase. But what I was talking about earlier is words are a big deal to me. Like how things are said, the meanings of certain words, it for some reason drives me insane. Literally, someone can be apologizing, and if they say it like in a way that's like not like a true apology, I I that makes me so mad. I'm like, put a little sincerity into it. I'm trying to think of a good example. But like the way you word things is a big deal. We were talking about um one of our friends and some issues that he's going through right now, and you were discussing with me on how to be like kind of blunt about it, about being like, hey, I don't like what you're doing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And we talked about how you can't say, Hey, I don't like what you're doing. And I'm like, you probably need to go in a little speeder and go, hey, um, I've noticed this and I'm kind of worried about I don't even know how I said it exactly. But rewording it and just making it in a kinder way and being like, instead of being like, I don't like what you're doing, fucking stop it. But being like, hey, this is really concerning for me. I think that maybe you should consider stopping that. Or like, why are why is this what you're doing? Why is this what why are you doing that thing? Yeah. And giving someone a chance to do it.
SPEAKER_01What am I seeing that or what are you seeing that I'm not Yeah, yeah. I'm trying to understand and come from more of a caring angle than just uh blunt accusatory and like condescending.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, I I see what you're saying. Yeah. For sure. It's the same thing when someone wants to be helpful and they go and they're like starting to help you with it, and they're just like trying to do it for you, and I'm like, stop. I'm like, did you even ask me if I want your help with that? I'm like, how'd you word it?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05It's it's not it's what's funny is I'm like, I know what people mean when they say stuff, but if they don't say it in a way I like, I'm like, mm-mm. Fix it. Fix it.
SPEAKER_03It's true.
SPEAKER_05Oh. You know what we have to talk about?
SPEAKER_01What?
SPEAKER_05I have a sponsor I have to talk about. Just kidding, I don't have to. I talk about it because I love her. Do you know who it is?
SPEAKER_01Whitney.
SPEAKER_05Whitney. Her skincare is the best.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It's really good. Oh 100%.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Um, even Car Guy enjoys it. Um it's simple, it's quick, three steps.
SPEAKER_01One, two, three.
SPEAKER_04One, two, three. Put that cream on me.
SPEAKER_01That's that's wild. That's wild. That's funny.
SPEAKER_05But I'm gonna give you the spill again. We're gonna give you the spill. We're gonna spill it all over you. First, it's just a simple cleanser. It gets all lathered up, rub it all over your face. Smells good too, huh?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05The color is a little a little familiar. And the density of it is a little familiar. What does it remind you of?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Probably why it's so good.
SPEAKER_05But it smells good. It does a good job. It gets everything off. I love to double cleanse, but it's nice. Because usually you double cleanse with two different products. This one you could just use once, use again, get the rest of your makeup, anything off, clean your pores, and then we use a toner. And it's a good little rehydrating toner. It soaks into your it soaks in pretty quick. I love a good toner that dries quick and you're not like sitting there just like wet forever, you know? And then oh the moisturizer is the best. It's so good. It smells good, it feels good, it has lactic acid in it, so it's a gentle exfoliant, so you don't need like an exfoliant. Because you don't want to exfoliate more than like a couple times a week. But this is like a gentle one, so it's like every single day it's cleaning off. It's also not only is it moisturizing, but it's getting rid of all those like extra dead skin cells that you don't need there anymore. Did you know that?
SPEAKER_01No, I didn't.
SPEAKER_05So your face is so smooth right now. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Smooth, smooth.
SPEAKER_05And you want to know the best part? Did I tell you about this part about um Brittany's skincare line?
SPEAKER_00You have a discount code?
SPEAKER_05I have a discount code. For 10% off from now until whenever the fuck we want to. And she has a baby, so everyone should go buy it, right? Yeah. Literally, though. It's not even that hard. All you have to do. Oh, you're gonna mead though. Did I have a stroke? What was that?
SPEAKER_01You smell burnt toast.
SPEAKER_05No, I feel stinky I smell stinky feet though. Just kidding. Just kidding. Uh all you have to do is go to psychtaboutbeauty.com and that is S Y K-E-D A-B-O-U-T. A B O U T. Nope, that was not right. Psyched about about Fuck, dude. I have to read it as I do it. I have a hard time spelling out loud. Do you?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I do. It takes a lot of brain power. It takes a lot of brain power. I have to visualize I have to visualize the word in my head. Which is difficult. That's really embarrassing.
SPEAKER_05Me spelling it out and then going psyched about about. It's kind of funny. It was funny. I had my eyes closed, and then the second word I opened them and looked over at Car Guy, and he's like smiling at me because I'm fucking it up. Let's try that again. I have it written down. All you have to go to is psychedaboutbeauty.com, which is S-Y-K-E-D A-B-O-U-T B-E-A-U-T-Y dot com. And you use the code Sammy Ten. S-A-M-I-1-0.
SPEAKER_01Sammy ten.
SPEAKER_05For how much off?
SPEAKER_0110%.
SPEAKER_0510% off!
unknownWoo!
SPEAKER_05That's quite the deal. From now on forever. Yeah. Yeah, brother. That's for best for trips. It was also nice, sorry, we're trying to wrap up the episode and the commercial. But um it was nice this trip to have just it's just nice to have three products. That's all I have to worry about.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Besides like my body products. But like all I do is I have my my cleanser, my toner, and my moisturizer. That's it.
SPEAKER_01Easy.
SPEAKER_05It wasn't all over the counter, was it?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_05Oh, it wasn't bad. Just the three products. Hot diggity dog. You gotta be worried about my dogs up on the counter than that. Just kidding. My feet were not on your counter.
SPEAKER_01Sure. It wouldn't shock me if they were.
SPEAKER_05I promise you they weren't. Your counter was dog free.
SPEAKER_01Alright. From you at least. Huh? From you at least. I don't know about what other people are doing. Jesus.
SPEAKER_05I didn't know your bathroom was like that. I digressed. Oh. And then also don't forget to follow my Instagrams. I have a few now. So make sure you go to my dating refresh. That's an Instagram. Or my personal account, which is Bubble Master. Or now I have my screaming underscore angel13. So you can get all the behind the scenes at Nightmare on 13th this year. Are you following all those already, Cargi?
SPEAKER_01I think I'm I don't think I'm following the one you're dating a refresh one.
SPEAKER_05What the are you serious? You're on the podcast and you're not even following it right now? Did you know Heath also never listened to an episode?
SPEAKER_01That's not true. I listened to like the first four or something. I can't remember. Then he got really tired of me talking. Then I moved here. Yeah. Things got crazy.
SPEAKER_05And he stopped listening to my my refreshes. He said free not. Anyways, thank you for listening about our weekend. I hope you have the most wonderful weekend as well, because this will be coming out on Friday. And um, Car Guy, if they want to find your Instagram, do you want them to find your Instagram? Do you want them to be able to reach out to you?
SPEAKER_01Sure. I mean my Instagram is very boring. Yeah, that's okay.
SPEAKER_05It's okay. Tell 'em. What's your Instagram?
SPEAKER_01Evil Goat376.
SPEAKER_05I thought it was fighter pilot. What's that? Is that your TikTok?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Um well, if you want to reach out to him, or at least I guess you can go follow him and find out what his name is, because I've been calling him Car Guy this entire time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I better change my name on here. Car guy. That'd be so funny.
SPEAKER_03That'd be so funny, actually.
SPEAKER_01Unless you know me.
SPEAKER_05Unless you know me. Okay, well, you guys have the best fucking weekend. Go get wet on a river. Throw up in someone else's toilet. Follow my example. Pretty pleased with cherries on tops. I really appreciate you listening, and I hope that we hear from you again.
SPEAKER_01From me? He wasn't paying attention.
SPEAKER_05Okay, bye!
