Big Slick here 👊 Got a story or need advice? Text me now — might make it on Talk Ya Sh!t! 🎙️💯

Ever worked with someone who isn’t the manager but sure acts like it? In this episode, Big Slick breaks down exactly how to handle a coworker who behaves like your boss—the loud talker, the constant corrector, the self-appointed leader who tries to run the room without the title. This is workplace drama 101, and we’re giving you real, practical strategies to protect your peace and your paycheck.

We dive into why some coworkers act this way—attention-seeking behavior, insecurity, proximity to actual leadership—and how they use fake authority to control the environment. You’ll learn how to respond without snapping, how to set boundaries that stick, and how to stop feeding the behavior that drains you daily.

Then we get tactical: simple scripts to shut down interruptions, how to document patterns, when to escalate issues to real management, and why staying calm gives you more power than clapping back. We also talk about the difference between true leadership and performative “wannabe boss” energy—and how to rise above it with professionalism that gets noticed for the right reasons.

If you’re dealing with a toxic coworker, a fake manager, or someone who constantly oversteps, this episode will give you clear steps to take back control, keep your focus, and protect your job.

them. First, you catch why catch them while they ass is not at work. That's what you do. Don't do nothing at the job. You gotta catch them off the job. You know, you do something on the job, you know, that's a different story. And or you can go another route, just ignore the dude, man. You know what I'm saying? People like this that run around on a job that act like the boss, they just want attention, right? If you don't feed into it, then they ain't gonna mess with you, they're gonna leave you alone. Because how can you correct me doing a job if we doing the same damn job? Like, you're not over me, you're not my supervisor, you're not my manager, you are actually a co-worker, so you can't tell me shit anyway. And personally, you should tell them that. You can't tell me. Get the fuck out of here, go that away. The fuck is wrong with these people, man? People is crazy at these work jobs, and this be the same dude that be running around going to get the boss lunch, kissing the boss ass, right? Thinking they're gonna get a supervisor position. But the only thing the boss do is pimp them, them be the people that's getting pimped on the job. You bringing the boss lunch and cookies and all this dumb shit for nothing. That's not gonna get you nowhere. You just turned yourself into a free fucking servant. That's what you did by doing all this extra shit. You doing shit outside the job, running to the store, getting shit for the getting laundry, not doing all types of shit, going to the cleaners. What is wrong with you, man? And then you come back to the job thinking you're empowered because you're getting pimped by the boss. It's not happening. it, man. Pump your brakes. But look, this is what I tell you, the person that wrote in, man. Like I said, you go two different ways. You can either don't pay attention, right? Just let them talk, you know what I'm saying, or just catch them in a quiet corner somewhere and scare the shit out of them. You know what I'm saying? You can do that too. Make sure ain't no cameras and no witnesses around when you do this. I'm just telling you, you know, it's I'm telling you because I did this shit before. Make sure it ain't no cameras and no witnesses around, and you let the motherfucker have it and let them know. Look, stop with that bullshit, man. Get the fuck out my face. That's what you need to do. Look, this is talk your shit. I'm gonna talk the shit raw the way it's supposed to be. You can handle it that way, right? Or you could catch them off the job, go straight gangster, slap fire out of them. That's another way. Or, or if you don't like them two, you know, first examples, they're a little confrontational. You could just ignore the motherfucker, man. If they come up to you, hey, you ain't doing that right, act like you don't even know what they're talking about. Whatever, keep on doing what you're doing, go about your day, right? Don't even pay attention to them. You know, people like that, if you don't pay attention to them, they'll fade away. If you feed into it, they're gonna keep on doing that bullshit. Until your supervisor or your manager says something about your job, don't even pay attention to what this fake boss over here is talking about. They just trying to get brownie points. You know what I mean? They need to stick to what they do best. Go get the boss lunch and feed them grapes or whatever dumb shit you be doing. Stick to doing that.
