When you start growing, the applause doesn’t always follow. Sometimes the room gets quiet—and that silence says everything. In this episode of Talk Ya Sh!t, Big Slick breaks down why some friends stop supporting you when you start winning, how hidden jealousy shows up, and what to do when growth exposes envy.
We dig into the real signs of jealous friends: flat reactions to good news, subtle doubt disguised as “concern,” and energy that shifts the moment your progress becomes undeniable. If your wins make people uncomfortable, it’s not because you’re doing too much—it’s because you’re doing something real.
This conversation gives you practical tools to protect your momentum: when to move in silence, how to stop oversharing with people who don’t clap for you, and how to tell the difference between real support and quiet hate. You’ll learn why true friends ask about the plan, not poke holes in the dream—and why leveling up often means outgrowing rooms that once felt safe.
If you’ve ever felt the vibe change after sharing good news, this episode will give you clarity, confidence, and a mindset shift to keep building without apology.

SPEAKER_00Now let's talk about it. What up, what up, what up, what up? Welcome to Talk Your Shit. And I'm your boy Big Slick. Listen, we got another great show for you today. But first, I want to give a shout out to my audience. Whether you're at home, at work, in your car, all the truck drivers on the road, I appreciate you tuning in. As always, we got another great letter in. I'm gonna read the letter and I'm gonna give you my unfiltered, raw, honest truth. Because that's what the fuck I do, man. Check it out. Let's jump right into it. Hating friends. This is this is gonna be a good one. This is gonna be a good one. Why do friends become haters when you start doing better? Yo, this is a question everybody asks. Why do friends become haters when you start doing better? Because they never was your fucking friend anyway. Come on, man. Let's be honest here, man. Let's be realistic. The motherfuckers become haters, man. They've been haters on a low, you know. Right now, when you start making major movements, they expose themselves. You know what I'm saying? They just can't hold it in. Haters can't hold it in. You start doing good shit, these motherfuckers' stomachs start hurting, they start looking dumb in the face, all types of shit, bruh. Because they haters and they just hate to see people do good. And it's it's it's a bad thing that most of these haters be your friends or fake friends and family. It's just it is what it is, man. And a lot of people just hate when you start to level up because they feel like you're gonna leave them behind, but little do they know you can level up too. Like, hey, who holding you back? You know what I'm saying? A lot of people hold themselves back, a lot of people doubt they self before they even try to do anything, you know. I mean, and that's what a lot of haters do. So, what haters do is they can't see themselves doing it, so when you doing it, they hate on you, and that I know everybody heard this before. This this is what real haters say all the time. I know you heard this shit before. Motherfucker, go yo, I don't like that person, man. I don't like them, and you'll be like, You might ask them, Yo, why you don't like them? I don't know, I just don't like that's some hater shit. What you mean you don't know why you don't like somebody? You just hating for no reason. Haters hate for no reason, man. That's what they do. But like I said, a lot of people do this. Friends and family start hating when you start making major moves. You know what I'm saying? You get a nice crib, a nice apartment. You know what I mean? They start hating, get a nice car, they start hating. You know what I mean? You got a beautiful girlfriend, beautiful wife that treats you well. They hate on the low, and this is what they do. You know what I'm saying? Sometimes they like I said, they can't even hide it no more. And you figure it out like, yo, these dudes is hating. Every time you got good news, they don't seem excited about it. It's like, oh, whatever. You like, oh man, yo, I just got promoted at my job. Oh, yeah. That's it. It ain't no man, oh man, congratulations, man. That's a good look. Your real friends, and this is how you can test who your real friends is. When you have good news, they they are excited about it the same way you are, and they're gonna congratulate you. You know, I mean, they're gonna tell you, yo, man, you're doing good, man. Yo, that's a good look for you, man. Yo, keep on doing what you're doing. And they might even ask, yo, yo, how you got to that, man? I want to do the same thing, man. You motivated me. This is what real friends do. The other people is just haters. So, like you said in this letter, you you know, your friends become haters. They wasn't never your friend, man. They wasn't never your friend. A lot of people like to see it when you're doing bad and you're struggling, right? They don't like to see when you're doing better, man. A lot of people get jealous and envious. Why? I don't understand it because you can do the same goddamn thing. I don't get it. Why people hate anyway? You can be doing the same thing if you put in the effort. If you put in the same amount of effort it takes you to hate on somebody to actually do something, then you can do something with your fucking life. But if you're sitting around hating all day, what you think is gonna happen? Nothing. You just gonna continue to hate all day while the other person is shining, and that's what it is, man. It's haters everywhere, everywhere you turn, it's a hater. But I tell you like this to all the people that's doing their thing and leveling up, keep on using them haters as your motivators, man. That's all they doing. Use them to motivate you, man. Don't let the haters get you down and start doubting your dreams because that's what haters do, man. They dream killers, you know. I mean, they want you back where they at. You know what I'm saying? Doing nothing. Don't do that. Use them as motivation, man. When they they're like, oh, how you gonna do this or how you gonna do that? Don't you hate this? You talking to a hater. You might not even know this person is a hater yet. I'm exposing haters for you because you around them and you just don't know. You say this, you got an idea for something, whatever the idea is for a business, whatever it is, some some way to make money to better yourself, and they doubting it. No, they quit. How you gonna do that? How that's gonna work? I don't know how you gonna where you gonna get the money at for that. How you gonna do this? These people are haters, that's just what they are. Instead of going, yo, man, you can you can do that. What's the plan? You know what I'm saying? That that's a difference between, oh, how you gonna do that? Where you gonna get the money for? I don't think that's gonna work. That's a hater, you know. I'm saying, and then a lot of times the haters, you have some haters that don't even think they hating on you, but they killing your dreams automatically by telling you by putting doubt on you because they can't do it, so they put their doubt on you. That's hating, man. That's why another thing is don't tell everybody your fucking moves, man. Just make your moves. They see it, they see it. They don't, they don't, but don't tell nobody your moves before you make the move, man, because they're gonna fuck up your move. That's what's gonna happen. They're gonna slow your shit down, they're gonna throw wrenches in it, they're gonna hate on it, they're gonna throw negative energy on it. You don't need to tell people like that, man. You need to do what you're doing and just let them see how you're moving. If they see it, if they don't see it, who cares? You know how you're moving. But again, it's a million haters out there, and these people that you wrote in this letter that you say, Why do friends become haters? They didn't become a hater, they always was a fucking hater, and they never was your friend. This is big slick, man. This is an easy one for me. You know what I do, I keep it real, and I'm gonna tell it to you the way I fucking want to because it's my show. Check it out. This has been another great episode, man. If you want to be a part of the show, you can send an email into talkyour shit daily at gmail.com. That's talk your shit daily at gmail.com. You can send in your letter. I'll read your letter on the air, you know. I'm saying, if you make it on the show, and I give you my honest, uncut, raw, unfiltered opinion about it, because that's what the fuck I do, man. And listen, if that's too much, we can make it real easy. You can throw it down in the comments, any topic you want me to discuss, and it might make it to the motherfucking show. Check it out, it's big slick, and I'm out.
