I'm gonna give you guys a quick introduction to this woman because it's very important that you guys know a bit about her before we get into this. So, this is Nicole.

Thank you for being here. She is a mother of six, and she birthed all of us at home. And while raising us, she ran her own parenting business while helping our dad run his business while traveling with us around the world. This woman walks an hour in the mountains every single day, and she only does this after she's done her daily workout. She ran a half marathon in the US when she was 50 something. Um, has been to the Swiss championship in Picklebull multiple times, going on three times this year. And she's been to the first ever European championship at Pickleball. At the Swiss championship, she placed second and third. Now, as you can tell, this woman is extremely active. And at the end of the day, she still has the audacity to say, I'm so tired, I don't know why. I've done nothing today, which is just blasphemous.

It's totally not annoying when we're playing pickleball with her on Tuesday evening, and she's like, I'm just a little tired today. And we're like, Well, what did you do? My half an hour workout in the morning, and then I went for a walk, and then I played two hours of pickleball in the morning, and now I'm I'm playing two and a half hours in the evening. It's 9 30, and I'm a little tired, and I just I can't fathom.

It's like, girl. Well, I didn't do the half-hour workout in the morning.

Our question today, and we'll get into that later, but basically it's gonna be about how do you stay so active? What motivates you to stay so active? And which pharmacist do you have? What has he prescribed you, and how can we get some of what you've got? Because that's insane. So you guys will get the intricate details of how this woman is so insanely fit.

But before we get into that, let's do some would you rathers. Mom, would you rather never be able to drink another glass of wine or never be able to play another pickleball tournament?

Okay, let's see. I mean, if I really would have to pick, that's really tough.

No, like uh opera spritz or something, but you know, I mean We went I went to this music festival that's like this music thing with mom the other day, and it was 6 p.m. We had been there for half an hour and she's like, should we get an opera spritz? Yes, we should.

Yeah, you know, it's like I don't drink wine very often, but I really like it. It's a good meal or just it's just relaxing, it's enjoying the moment, and you know. But then I also like playing pickleball. I'm kind of addicted to both of this, so uh I don't know what I would give up.

You're definitely more addicted to pickleball. Like you like wine.

SPEAKER_05

I like wine. Still play pickleball. You just can't play at tournaments.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but that's different, you know. I mean, it's like it it's the tournament, it's a different energy. It's like it's you kind of I don't know, you want to do better, you know. And playing is fun too. I love playing, I love practicing. It's just and it's just something social and fun to do. So she likes destroying other teams too. Let's be real. She likes going to a tournament. A lot of them destroying me, but it I like to be to measure myself. I'm I'm a little competitive, maybe just a bit, maybe no.

Um I don't like to lose, but I do that a lot too.

So it's not it's part of the game, so it's good because then you know, if you only win, then you feel like top of the line. I'm still very much at the bottom, you know. I'm still working myself.

Oh my god, she's being so modest.

She is no, I mean it's depicable. You can get at so many levels, you know. Uh I'm I don't just get paying.

We were just in Paris, and mom placed second and third in both the categories she played, so she's being modest.

And she keeps on placing. Yeah, I don't play more than you don't.

Yeah, that's which is crazy. Like it's cool. It is cool, it's very cool.

And you started playing pickable like five years ago, right?

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no, not that long. Three, four. What? Yeah. Before I went to Mexico, we were had been playing for a year, so it's been four years now.

So going to four years. Which says beginning four years, which just started before you went, like in November. Yeah. So it's like a good three years, solid three years.

Yeah.

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Lydia, same question. Never another glass of wine or never be able to play pickleball as a you play pickleball for like a year. Yeah. Regularly.

I played two, I'd say, because I lived here for two. Right. And then I played it for two. Um there's not a lot of pickleball where I live now, so I just don't play it. And I can fill my ton with other things also. Not lacking in holidays. Uh I'd give up the tournaments. I like wine. I don't drink a lot of alcohol, but wine is so nice and it's such a thing that you enjoy. I don't like drinking for drinking's sake, but like pairing wine with a meal, it's just so nice.

So and I I see what you mean with the I think it would be different for me if it's I can never compete actively. Like if I can't compete in anything, then I would give up wine. Yeah. But like this, yeah, I'm not competing. I've done one pickleball tournament ever. So I think I'm gonna do more. I should but it's embarrassing if my mom is so much better than it's you're really good, actually.

You know, I mean you have a talent.

At this point, I'm probably way, way worse than but anyway.

It's fun to score against her because I feel really good about myself because I'm like, oh my god, oh my god, I can still make a point. Um, I would give a wine.

I know, but I I think it I'm more addicted to gummy bears right now. But the problem in my car is like they melt in summer. I just melted a whole pack of gummy bears again, you know. They loved each other so much they melted together. You have a cooling box.

You let's say in this scenario you have a cooling box in your car for either the payday because the paydays would also melt and be weird. Still gummy bears. What kind of gummy bears?

Just to like give a shout out to Well just the the haribo, of course. Haribo. Haribo's. Um they're really struggling right now. And uh prefer the sour ones.

Well, if I had a cooler with like freshly cut watermelon, I was gonna pick the gummy bears. I would pick both, honestly. If I had a cooling box, like hell yeah. Uh but watermelon, oh my god. Oh my god, though, or pickles. Oh my god.

Can I have this? I don't have a car, but uh and I do like gummy bears. I love gummy bears, but it's funny, you know.

Then you eat one and you need another one. They're so addictive. It's like well, there comes a point where it's like, okay, I have enough.

You know, I don't I can't eat a whole throat you start to hurt a little bit from the sugar, but that's when it's time. Yeah. So let's get into the main part.

Okay. Um, as we noticed, as we said, we told the audience, you're a very active person. You do all the things. Would you say you've always been this fit?

SPEAKER_01

No, definitely not. Um when I had the kids and when we guys were young, you were all pretty close, and there wasn't much time to work out.

SPEAKER_05

No shit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, there was so much to do, and there was just like I put myself not this is not like a blame or anything, but uh my personal uh looks and everything was put a little bit on the back burner because there was just more important things to do at the time.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Were you as fit as you are now before the kids though?

SPEAKER_01

I was pretty fit before, yeah. I did a lot of uh I just like physical stuff. Yeah, you know, it's not like I I just like it. My body needs it kind of. Yeah. And I was I was I was always walking and doing yoga and doing trying all kinds of of things to do, and I was fit um growing up too. We did a lot of sports and volleyball and uh skiing and you know, I I was pretty active. I had to be because I was bored otherwise.

What's coming out? Okay. And what got you back into it?

SPEAKER_01

Well, actually, it was this program mostly that Amy bought. You know, when you before you went to the Echo, this uh 31-day one day 31-day fix program. It was just as she bought this program and it's a half an hour every day. It goes it's seven days a week and it just goes through different muscles every day, and it's just a great little half an hour, and you do it with weights. I started doing it, and it's just when I'm not doing it, my body is is not feeling as good. I get more back pain, and you know, I feel older. And when I do it, even if I only play pickleball, it's not that's not enough workout. I need to do something with uh no, no, because it's not it doesn't train all the muscles. Yeah, it's not this is like you have to do something that's for the whole body, not just one part, you know.

How many years have you been doing these workouts?

SPEAKER_02

It's crazy because I bought it when I was because I was 17 and I wanted to get more into fitness and I researched a few programs and I bought it. I asked you if we could buy it, meaning could you buy this for me? Mom bought it. I did not buy this. Um and then we started doing it together.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, did you? Yeah, yeah. And I've been doing it ever since.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she's been doing it ever since, and I stopped because that's an insane thing to just follow a workout program for over 10 years, because we bought it when I was 17 and I am not 27.

SPEAKER_01

So that's crazy. Yeah. And it's just I mean, I've do other things too, but it's just something I can do anywhere I go. Yeah, I always have it with me. It's very simple. It's only half an hour, it's not that long.

She says it's very simple. I did this program when I was 17, and then I like when I work out with her and do this program in the mornings, it's tough. I try not to like I step behind her so she doesn't see how much I'm struggling. It's just it is it's half an hour, but it's a tough half an hour.

I do it every day too. And what I like is because it goes through the different muscles. One day you do leg, one day you do arm, then you do just cardio, then there's some yoga in there. I mean, it's just it is a well-rounded program. Oh well well done. It's all fixed, right?

The 21-day fix, yeah.

21-day fix. I don't know even if you still can buy it or not.

I think Beach Body is like it's from the Beachbody thing. I think you can.

It's a very cool program.

SPEAKER_02

There's also like a newer one, Ultimate, which is a little more extreme, but I think her original was just half an hour every day. There's also an eating plan with it, but I don't think you do that. I don't do that, no.

I mean I I'm at this point I eat whatever I want.

SPEAKER_02

It's I I eat healthy. I like vegetables, I like uh fruit, and I don't eat much meat, but a little bit. So and if I do eat meat, then I try to eat nice meat, you know, mm be o and just try to take care of myself.

And that you always did. You all also did that when we were kids. Yeah. But the working out you didn't have time for whenever.

SPEAKER_01

No, I mean we walked some with the dogs and we swam some, we had a pool, but that helped, but I was not super fit. Okay, just like raising six kids takes a lot of I mean, you're lifting the baby and it's kind of a different way of being fit, you know. You kind of have to be fit too. Do you think that's specific to raising six kids or just having kids in just having kids. I mean, look at Mia right now with two, you know, she's constantly carrying that one here and carrying one there, and then carrying in front of it. That's I mean, if I would have to do it now, I'm not fit enough. You know, it's like that's a different way of being fit, yeah. It's like that after a while you have these babies are heavy and yeah, it's like it's in your back and everywhere. Yeah, yeah, no. I think parents in general with with young kids, I mean, they're they don't have to work out out. I mean, they they can't, of course, but uh already carrying the kids around is it's a lot, takes a lot.

Did it bother you that you couldn't work out while you had us? Or was it you were so busy you couldn't you didn't even have to No, I was very busy.

SPEAKER_01

I d I I wasn't really big on my, you know, schedule. We did a little bit Mick like the workout. So we went to a gym every so often or you know, we but it didn't really I wasn't thinking about it. Yeah. Yeah. It's like I didn't really have time. Yeah. Yeah, it wasn't very high on my list. That makes sense.

You had other things to do, you're running his business, your business, traveling.

SPEAKER_02

But then what like okay, this workout program, but what like why was that a turning point for you? Like what was the motivation?

SPEAKER_01

The motivation was to get a little bit in shape again, you know, to uh uh have a body that is more in shape. I mean, I'm still I was still skiing and walking and all that, but it just felt like uh it was a very nice thing to do, and once I started I could tell the difference. How? It's just when I'm not doing this workout, my body hurts. Okay. And if I do it, it doesn't. Okay. So there it's a big difference. And it's like uh often I think, oh, should I do my workout? And oh that don't have time today, and then I don't do it and I regret it. Okay. Because then my back starts hurting or something, you know. It's like, and then if I do it, or even if I if I have a tough uh day in pickleball, and then I usually do the next day, I do like uh Pilates or something from that workout because it just stretches all the muscles again and and it really helps with not being sore. I don't know, you know, it's just it's just I think it's even though I still to this day I still have to force myself sometimes to do it, it's definitely worth it. Okay.

Can I ask a follow-up question real quick? Like you said physically, do you mean like the way your body looks or what your body is capable of doing?

SPEAKER_01

I would say both.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I still not I think you could do way more than what I'm doing as far as looks, you know, like with the personal trainer, like maybe you get older, so your body shape changes a little bit. And I think older people have to do even more than younger people to somehow stay in shape. And it's so easy to I was I mean, I'm I'm single now, so I'm looking around a little bit and to see to just watch people and to watch couples too. And you can see with often with couples, there's a tendency to make it not so important how you look anymore because you are now you know, you're in a relationship, you have your partner, it's all good, you're not you're not on the market, you don't have to show up or whatever, but it shows in your physics, you know, you kind of like let it go a little bit. So it's interesting to see that if you do that when you're older, it gets worse much quicker than when you're younger. You know, when you you're when you're in your 30s and you give up for a few years because you have kids, you can get that back. You know, but if you're 50 or 60 and you start giving in, then things start to hurt. You know, I have a lot of people around me who are 10 years younger than me and they have hip replacements and knee replacements and shoulder replacements, I mean, replace everything because it hurts. And it's like you have to work on maintaining the the older you get, I think the harder you have to work on supporting the muscles so they can support your bones, basically your structure, you know, because everything weakens. Yeah, you have to you have to train.

What does your typical day look like at the moment?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I mean, there's not really a typical day. They're all different.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, but usually you'll wake up in the morning, you're retired.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, theoretically. I'm still working like 40%. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Um you wake up, you go for you do your workout first.

SPEAKER_01

No, first I have a coffee.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. First I have a coffee. That's very important. Yes. Then I do my workup. Yes. And then uh probably eat something. Mm-hmm. And then I feed the dog, and then we go on a walk. What's your typical breakfast look like?

SPEAKER_02

Well protein shake that she totally loves to drink.

SPEAKER_01

No, the protein shake comes later enough. Oh, right. I found out how to do the protein shake because it's so disgusting. Now I do it after I walked McKenna, and then I do the protein shake, and then I have like this froppy kind of a thing over the day, and it works much better. Yeah.

I don't like the protein shake.

No, it's it's like so much powder in it.

It's just not good. I haven't found the good one yet. It's not bad bad anymore. Yeah, to add a banana. Well, I did, but even that, you know, I mean it's it and I can tell it's good for me.

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Because I'm not, it's it it balances out my hunger, you know. If I don't do it, then I get much more hungry for chunk. And if I do the protein drink, I'm interested. Less gummy bears. Definitely. Not no gummy bears.

Well less.

I like it.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so you you wake up, you have a coffee, you do your workout, you have breakfast. Yeah. And you go for a walk with a dog. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, what's your breakfast? Huh? What is your breakfast?

SPEAKER_01

Well, um, right now it's just fruit with some Cheerios and some milk. Love it. So, like berries, not fruit berries, but Okay. I love berries.

SPEAKER_05

And then you'll come back and let's go. Honestly, on a typical day, you'll go and play pickleball. Oh, yeah. At some point. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

How many days a week are you playing pickleball right now? It depends.

SPEAKER_01

You know, there's weeks where like a regular week. A regular week at least three or four times. Yeah. Crazy. And sometimes on the weekends there's a tournament.

So so four to five times. Sometimes.

SPEAKER_00

Whenever I can, basically.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, but you're not counting Tuesday as two sessions. No. So you play Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, Thursday evening, weekends. Fridays. Fridays.

Well that it's fun, you know. It's like it's just okay.

SPEAKER_03

No, it's uh there's no shame.

SPEAKER_01

It's just depends, you know, if there are people who want to play. I mean, it's like the biggest thing right now is still having uh the big field, having a regular field. Because that makes a difference.

SPEAKER_05

So is it okay that we disclose your age on the podcast?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, sure.

SPEAKER_05

So you are currently 67, yes.

SPEAKER_01

How old do you feel? That's a that's a very cool question because I think it has a lot to do on how old you feel. You know, and I don't 67 feels I when I think about it, it feels so old.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And I feel like fifty maybe? Okay. Yeah. I mean not older. And if I look around out there with people who are in their fifties, I I think, you know, at about there.

SPEAKER_05

It's just it's it's like But you're more fit than you were when you were actually 50. Yeah. That's insane.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think so too. And I think that's the that's important.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's also I think uh a lot of it is very mental. You know, if you see yourself old, then you get old. If you don't see yourself old, then you're you still get older, but you're not you it doesn't feel like that, you know. You still can feel like I mean sometimes I feel even younger than than than 50. It's like you know, I then I look in the mirror and say, no, no, you're all calm down.

Calm down, you know, you're an it it it shows, you know, you're you're not in your twenties anymore. So you feel like you're in your 20s, I suppose. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_01

But forties. No, fifties is good, you know. I mean, it it's that's a good that's a good thing. It's just like age is like it's almost like made up, you know. You're as old as you feel, uh, somehow, you know, it's a except you look older. That's the weird thing, you know. Being fit and getting older, I think, is a great way of just honoring your body. I yeah, I I I tell you, I really I'm very um grateful to my body for doing so well.

Is that what motivates you to work out?

SPEAKER_01

Is like yes, I I love this body and how well it's doing and how well I I mean I can do, I can play five times a week pickleball. That's awesome. You know, it's like thank you. I'm really appreciate maintaining me and care. Yeah, and and allowing me to do these things. It's like I'm very appreciative. Yeah, yeah.

That's very nice. So for you, working out is it's kind of like self-care, it's self-showing self-love.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's it's doing also doing what's fun. Um, you know, if I don't I if I want to play pickleball, which is fun, then I have to do support my body so it can play pickleball. You know, I can't just let it go pretending that I can play five times a week and not supporting the muscles so they can strengthen and support my whole skeleton or whatever, you know. I mean, it's I think I have to do whatever I can to help it to do so well. Yeah. So it's my job.

What would you say to someone who's 65, has had knee replacement surgery, has hip issues, who likes to play pickleball, but is maybe a little slower, who just says, I can't do it anymore. It's too late.

SPEAKER_01

Well well, then I would say, well, that's that's unfortunate. Just start small and and definitely start with a program where you work with weight and build up muscle so you're stronger to then have more stenamine out in playing. And also then if you build up muscle to support your hips and your knees, and you know, it's maybe not perfect, but it will help, you know. I mean, and maybe I'm just very, very fortunate. I don't know. You know, I'm uh that's that's why I really appreciate my body too, that it can do like stuff like that. But and maybe they're just less fortunate that their body can't do it. I don't know. I'm not a physician, but I think supporting and working out and using weight in when you get older is essential. Okay, so strength training. It's a strength training, yeah. Some sort of strength. It doesn't have to be like like in in a gym hours on end. Like I'm doing it at home half an hour a day. It would be better in a gym, I'm sure. You could also get a personal trainer, that would be even better. But I haven't done that step yet. What supplements are you taking? Yeah, so well I do take the the fish oil, I take uh multivitamin uh women's over fifty, I take zinc, probiotics, and the digestives, and um a couple more, I can't remember the names. And uh uh it really makes a difference too. I can feel the difference if I take them or not. The magnesium too, a magnesium and uh creatine and the powders I take with the the protein powder? The protein powder, yeah, I take uh every day too.

What do you feel? Like why you say you can tell a difference if you don't take them?

Well the protein powder helps with the the eating because I don't eat that much anymore. You get older, you don't need such big meals anymore. You know, you need you have smaller meals and um live by myself, so but I still cook for myself because I like it. And um but not big portions. So the protein helps to just maintain what you need what I need, I guess. And the vitamins just I I'd like to I don't know if they're do what what they say they do, but if they do then I want my body to have it. And if they don't, I mean I just gonna they're just gonna go in and out. Okay there's no harm done. I don't I'm not overtaking uh I think it makes a difference, but I it's not that I can tell. I think the protein drink I can tell. And also the magnesium.

If I don't take the magnesium, then I ran out of magnesium and I've been having like muscle soreness and I couldn't figure out why, but it's because I haven't been taking it for the past week. It must be that. Yeah.

Magnesium is very important. Yeah. I take it in my in my powder drink. Oh. Yeah.

And the creatine? The creatine.

I haven't taken it consistently enough, I think. You know, I'm I've I hear you have to take it about a year before you notice the difference. Really? Yeah.

I the whole protein drink helps. I don't know which part is what. I know I know the magnesium helps because if I don't drink my pot protein drink, yeah, the muscles want to say too.

Okay. Um, what is your what's your fitness goal long term or short term?

Or do you have like a a goal you're going for now?

Yeah, I want to reach a the next level in pickleball. I want to end up at least at a four. And um I want to be fit enough to play until I'm done. No, I mean, yeah, yeah. If I allow to live until I'm 80 or 90, I would like to be able to do all the things I do, you know, to walk, to play pickleball, to ski, yeah, to swim. Uh I'd like to be able to maintain that uh into the very old age. Yeah. Yeah. With a feeling of being 20 years younger.

So when I'm 90 and I feel like 70, I think I'm doing well.

I don't know if we're gonna make it that far, but you know, if I I think the main thing is to stay healthy and and be able to do things. I think it's terrible if you can't do things anymore because your body can't do them, you know. I mean, and and and if you have a body that's capable of doing that, that's just a gift. So I feel like I have a pretty big gift because my body can still do all this stuff. It's such a nice outlook. So I'm grateful.

Can I ask one off-topic question? Just if there's someone who was fit before they had kids and now started having kids and are they're losing a little bit of their fitness and struggling with that. Because I could imagine if I have kids and I'm not able to go for my runs and my swims and everything, that that would weigh on me. So I'm wondering what what would you say to someone going through that? And do you have any advice of what they could do to still feel like they're not giving up everything for this child?

Yeah, I mean it it's not uh that's the wrong thing. It's like I never gave anything up for you guys when when I had you. You know, it was just it came, it was in the back burner. It wasn't that important anymore. They were more important, but it wasn't like, oh, I'm I'm sacrificing now my my fitness to having kids. No, you know, I think that's the wrong approach. It's like uh I mean now especially now you see a lot of moms running with their kids and doing things and being very fit with their kids. So I know it's possible. It's just for me, it wasn't in front of my what I wanted to do. It wasn't a priority, right? But I think you can make it a priority and have kids and still be fit. I mean, you'll see it everywhere. I mean, there's a lot of young moms or older moms out there and still being fit. Yeah. So you can combine it. You can do it after too. When they're a little older or they're going to school. I mean, you can pick it up and you can you can get it back anytime. It's not it's not a necessity. It's more like your state of mind has to be that you don't give something up for the kids. If you feel like you have to give it up, don't do it. That was a really nice answer.

Um, the last question, right? Mm-hmm that we wrote down is if you could go back to your younger self and give her a piece of advice, what age would you go back to? And what would the advice be?

As far as sports or what no.

I think this yeah, we'll we'll open it up now. Like is there it can be sports related if that's the first thing you think about, but it doesn't have to be.

Well, the best advice I got from my grandma when I was like fourteen or fifteen. And I think I um I did take it a little bit through my whole life. And maybe I would take that advice and give it to me at eight. That's adorable. What was the advice? The advice was uh it's the story of this uh refugee who came to her house and um he was he was uh a refugee from um Germany or Poland or something during the Second World War and she took him in and he was sitting in her kitchen upstairs and he lost his business, he lost his family, he lost his kids, and he was sitting in the kitchen and just felt happy. And my grandma, she was like taking care of refugees, and she her husband was in the military and she was stressed. And she came up and she just said, you know, I I have to ask you this question, you know. I mean, you lost everything and you're sitting here eating this soup and you you're happy. Uh what's your secret? And this guy said in very broken German, Gluck, Mann macht selber. So which means Yeah, you're responsible for your own happiness. You make your happiness. Nobody else can make your happiness. Your kids not gonna make you happy, your husband is not gonna make you happy. It's like happiness comes from within. You have to make yourself happy. Yeah, it's it's up to you, it's not up to anybody or the environment. I think the biggest life lesson, because uh when uh she told me this story, uh, when I got to her and I was like in love and it didn't turn out or something, you know, I was miserable and just that put everything back into perspective, you know. I mean, I think I had a very awesome life so far. I'm very thankful for it. And I always went back to like, okay, it's my responsibility if I want to be happy, then I have to see how to do that. It's not anybody else's job, it's my job to be happy. And I think I've I lived a pretty happy life.

So we always tell a funny story at the end of the episode to kind of show that failing is normal and it's okay. And my sports fail was or one of them that many. I've told one already on the episode, on the podcast. Uh, one of my other sports fails was I went to Thailand with my friends for a month, and I didn't do basically any sports while I was there.

And then I came back, and before I went to Thailand, I had gone running regularly-ish, like once a week, maybe, or once every two weeks, but sort of regularly. And then I came back and I went for a run and I hated it. I used to love running, and then after that month, I absolutely hated running. I was like, this is not fun. I don't know why I used to like this. And it took like five runs until I found it enjoyable again. Because just if you have no endurance anymore, it just sucks. Yeah. It sucks for a good little while until you get into it again.

But that's okay. It's good to like remember the more positive. Um I have so many sports-related ones. Um, yesterday I went for a bike ride because I'm training for the triathlon, and the other week my bike fell over, and Tek was like, Oh, there's some wires coming out of the brake. That's really dangerous. And I was like, Don't worry, it's always been like that. It's totally fine. Um, and then I got to the area that I wanted to go biking because I don't like biking in the city. And I realized it wasn't just the brake. Uh, those wires also connect the gearbox to the gears. So I had two gears.

It was way tougher than I expected it to be. It was a 21k bike ride, and I was just like, I was laughing the whole time because it's a shitty bike. I need to buy myself a new bike. I'm just procrastinating, so it's kind of like a self-punishment.

Um that's been the most recent sports fail. But I actually have funny stories about mom and fitness in case you can't. Um We were at the Paris Open pickleball and she was playing the mixed doubles 50 plus, and one of Switzerland's like a very good player, she's such a sweet girl, came over and we I saw that mom was struggling. It was the quarterfinal no, the semifinals. Like for qualifying for third, mm-hmm or third and fourth, and it looked like mom was struggling. Like she had been playing for seven hours that day.

And she looked tired, and so tired.

It was so hot.

It was so hot, it was really difficult. And so, like, I was like, guys, let's can we can we go like cheer on my mom? And so we went over and she just like snapped on, and all of a sudden, I don't know if it was the cheering, I don't know if it was the mate she drank before, but she was just on, and Steffi was like, Amy, you have such good genes. I'm so jealous. Like, your mom is a beast. And I was like, I know, right? Like, I I need to keep playing pickleball so I can play like her when I'm her age. And she's like, Yeah, I don't even know how old she is, but like she plays in the 60 plus category, right?

And I was like, Yeah, she's 67, and she went 60. I was just so impressed. Um, because yeah, I think everybody in the pickleball community knows that you're 60 plus because that's a category you play in.

I had these sports glasses, and that bottom is I I can't see it um far, so I need corrected lenses, and I bought these sports glasses, and um, but they came the the frame came down below your eye, and I was in Spain and I was playing, and somehow I hit my glasses with my paddle and gave myself a black eye.

It's so good that you're single. Otherwise. Your partner would have gotten shit for that.

You know what? It all it didn't only happen once.

Yeah, it actually happened to me twice. Yeah. And then I went back and I I gave the glasses back, and they actually took the glasses back because I came with the black eye and said, Look, I mean, these are supposed to be sport glasses. Look at me.

You know, that's what they did to me. It wasn't even a ball, it was myself with my paddle just making a move.

I'm so glad I was there because the lady at the sales corner was like not sure if she was allowed to laugh, and I was just snickering, and she was like, Okay, this is actually kind of funny. How did you hit yourself in the face exactly? She was like, Well, the ball was coming, and I just went like this, and and these glasses gave me a black eye, and I was like, a little bit that she hit herself.

But now I have like a different sport glasses, they don't have a frame below, and um two days ago I did get hit with the ball right into the glasses at the nose and pretty much. And your eye looks fantastic. Look at you. No, I'm very happy with my new sports classes. I recommend them.
