Tonight we're turning the show over to JC and getting the full Gov Ball recap from someone who was actually there.
We'll talk about everything from the festival atmosphere and the crowd to Stray Kids' performance and all the little moments that don't always make it into the clips and fancams. What stood out? What hit differently in person? What was the crowd's reaction like? And just how loud was STAYville when the guys took the stage?
Of course, no trip is complete without a story or two, and JC definitely came home with some. While getting into Gov Ball was smooth sailing, getting out turned into a whole different adventure thanks to severe weather, so we'll be hearing all about that experience as well.

SPEAKER_01We're gonna talk all about it. All about it. The whole nuts from the beginning. But here, I wanted to show you what was here when I got home.

SPEAKER_01Hi, hi everybody. Hi, Mimi. Hey everybody, Christy, hi. No, all right. I have to start by this. So so I got to meet some of our stay. Well, I got to meet Kimmy in person, even though we've talked to Kimmy forever. So I love Kimmy. And then um you're on my TV, so okay. Um, but I got to meet our stay, Christy, and I have to show you these because I I Christy, I did eat some. I ate hyonjin and I ate two of the stays. Yeah, I ate. Look, they're macrons, but so there's puppy M. She she made me Prince Racha macrons, so that's why I ate Hygin. I I don't have the heart to eat bulk. I'm like, I just I want to love, I want to love. Yes, and then look, look at this one.
SPEAKER_05Okay, I'm gonna get I'm biting my tongue for this evening. I'm just gonna bite my tongue.
SPEAKER_01You're gonna have to because there's gonna be lots of. I'm gonna eat this one actually right now because they're it's there that go.

SPEAKER_05Thank you, Christy, for these beautiful macrons. I was gonna say, Christy, if you if you know you have stay in your area, you should like try to like sell those, like just hey, look, you know, especially during like stay week or whatnot. That would be awesome. That would probably be a really good idea, just saying if you're able to. But anyway, guys, how's everybody been? It's been a weekend. It is it has so so been a weekend. Oh my god. Um, because obviously some of us went to GovBall, um, and some of us did not, and watched it from afar on the very, very gracious folks that live streamed it for us. Um, though for those of us that could not make it. So I'm thinking we have there was a bunch of stuff that has happened over the weekend since Friday's show, or since, well, we didn't have a show on Friday because of because of Gub Ball. So within the last week, there's been a ton of stuff that we have, but I have a feeling this particular show is just going to essentially be a gov ball recap. So that being said, since I was not there, take it away, JC. I will hold on. Let me just have another bite of these because he's really gonna I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I will you pilot, I will co-pilot this evening. Okay. Good, perfect.
SPEAKER_01So, gov ball. Well, first I'm gonna start with since it's a gov ball weekend, I'm gonna start with the promenade on the park. That was an event for stay. I did not go to the other pre-party, so I cannot talk to that one. I do know they had great freaking vendors because I helped one of the vendors Love Stay Studios, which is absolute pickles business, set up. Pickle gave me the best set, she gave me a gift, their um cards of all the guys. Um she um, so I helped her set up. Then we went over to Promenade on the Park. When I'm saying Promenade on the Park, there were so many stay, like all in one place. First of all, I had in my all years of life, I had never been to Central Park. That's very hard to believe because I used to go into the city all the time for auditions. You know what I mean? So, like, I New York is like us, like I knew New York, but I never went to Central Park. So the first thing I said to Allie Funny, we get off the subway and we walk up, and I'm like, oh my God. She's like, What? I'm like, we're on Kevin McAllister's aunt street or uncle street. And she's like, What do you mean? I'm like, in Home Alone 2. He sets them up, he runs into the park and he slides on ice and he falls in front of the hot dog stand or whatever in Central Park and they get him. We were right there. I mean, I'm telling you, right there, like where they filmed it. So that was number one. So number two, we walk into the park, and Central Park is as ethereal as you think it is. It's got like people and bike riders and walkers and runners and people picnicking, and it's all right, like you see in the movies, it's all picturesque. So we get there, and our friend Metaskiss Verse is there with a small group of people, and so we start to sit up, and we so the promenade on the park gave away little dance cards with thread pins, like thread is stay villa, blah blah blah. Little pencil. People started coming up. I had Princess Richard Sticky Lizards as my freebie, and um yeah, and so I gave away my Princess Richard. Oh, it's amazing. Let me see the first time. Yes, um, I gave away my princess princess, I can't even talk, Princess Richard Sticky Lizards, which everybody was like, that's the coolest. Like, what made you think of that? I'm like, Hans Princess Princess Richard, but anyways, so is cute. So everybody shows up, there's tons of stay. Jay Gwen Gwen Rainey comes, she's a wedding photographer. We decide to do a shot of all the stay. If you want to, you can go look on my JC Stay talk um threads that I have up. I posted the picture. There's got to be the only person not in edit her because you know I'm not in the picture. So anyway, we go, take the picture, beautiful, great, one, two, three, divine, one, two, three, karma, that whole thing. And then threads shows up. A representative from Threads shows up. Saw that with with a hundred gift bags. Inside was a ramen snack that was like topoki flavored. I got lychee candy, some people got all different kinds of gummy candy. A pepperot. I lucked out and got the stray kids pepperot. I was like, and then um I could say something right now, but I'm gonna shut my mouth. Um, and then and then a um a thing like thank you threads, blah blah blah. I was gonna say eat them, but anyways. Um a pepper, uh the pepper, and then a threads thing saying thank you, stable, blah, blah, blah, threads. So um, yeah, so that was cool. And then the lady was like, if you tag us and stuff, we'll you know, try to retweet it. We're really trying to expand things for stay on threads, which I thought was like, wow, they're really trying to cater to us, which is kind of a brilliant thing.
SPEAKER_05Well, I mean, we're one of the largest, right? Right now, Stayville happens to be one of the largest community tags on the platform, just in general. We've run it over at least twice that I can think of already now at this particular point in time. And then in addition to that, it's it it just works in their favor if they can, you know. I I know with the community, the community heroes and whatnot, which I believe pickle is one.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, she is she's a community champion, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Community champions and whatnot. They have access to you know direct access into okay, what's gonna work for you guys? Now, if Threads could just bring back the voice notes, I don't care about the stickers, keep the music, but would you please bring back the voice notes? Just saying, in case anybody happens to see this in any point in time in the future. But we want voice notes back. Thank you very much.
SPEAKER_01Um, so you know, but it's it's so so Friday was just Friday was great, and then I Christy Kim and I went to a uh Korean restaurant, had great bimbim bap in Tangulu, and went back to the hotel and drank Suju and talked to you. So that was Friday. So that's what we were doing on Friday when we didn't have a pod. I was I was being one of the people, one with when with our people, actually. If I think about it. Did I go to the gym Friday? I think I think they're in the no, I don't think you did.
SPEAKER_05I think I took Friday as a rest day. But yes, you did.
SPEAKER_01You did, because I told you to take Friday as a rest day. Yes, yes. You told me to take it as a rest. Okay, that's what I did. Then Saturday morning, wake up, my roommate and I, soft yellow Monday. If you're on threads, Nelly, love her. We walk, we walked to go get Americanos. So we walked in flushing, we walked all around. Now you gotta mind you, the Knicks had played the night before and won. So it was sort of chaotic. Yeah, trying to navigate the streets where there's bars and stuff and garbage and crap everywhere. So we were like dodging things, trying to go get coffee. So we go get coffee, come back. We have breakfast at the hotel with all these stay, stay I haven't met before. That was like I finally got to meet in person, I got to hug them, which was a brilliant thing. Yes. So, and then we got ready. And I don't know if you saw a picture, yeah. You because I did the side effects on the stay talk video. That was me after I got ready to go. I didn't have my outfit on yet, but I had my makeup done.
SPEAKER_05What we completely missed an opportunity. What we completely missed an opportunity. We should have gotten you business cards.
SPEAKER_01I know I didn't think about that until afterwards. I did say I kept saying the pod, and they're like, Stay talk, are you on threads? I said, Yes, go or and on TikTok. I said, Go search State Talk. So I did say it, but I yes, we missed an opportunity. I agree. It's it's my fault. We could have gotten like easy ones off of whatever. But, anyways, so then um, what was I gonna say? Uh oh, okay. So, anyways, we got ready. Yeah, got coffee, got ready, got on the trot on the train, went one to exit up because from where we were in flushes, we could have walked and it would only have been, but it was a little warm at this point. So we're like, yeah, let's take the air-conditioned subway up one to Willet's point where the Mets are. Yeah, written Rhapsody, my freebies. I didn't even put a tag on it. Oh, that kimchi pancake was sick. You're right, Kimmy. We had kimchi page on for dinner, and it was the best, like, yes. So um uh train got off. The cool part about the train, I have to say this, is walking into the park is literally like you're walking over a boardwalk into the the main part of the park. And for those that for those that don't know, the Flushing Meadows Park is where they filmed Men in Black. Yes, I'm a big dork. I love men in black. The fact that I knew it was a globe that got destroyed in Men in Black and it was the World's Fair Globe. I didn't know that either. That's where they used to have the World's Fair back in like grandparents' days. Um, yeah, so so I was like, I took a picture in front of the globe like a big dork because I'm like, look, it's still there, but anyways, so as Mimi said on on the pre-show, the live was um what do you call it? The live was uh the lines, the lines were long, they were quick. The lines, I'm sorry, lives, lines. You gotta remember, I didn't sleep a lot, so I'm still like brain waves are not working, and I'm trying to look at the freaking comments as I'm doing this. So um lines, lines, GA had its own line, pit and VIP had its own line. Um, accessible had its own line, meaning like ADA accessible. Um, I thought it went pretty quickly, I have to say. People were complaining, but we went at like 1130 and it went it went really quickly. We got in, and the first thing you see is I have to show you this picture. It's the um it's gonna take me a second because Kim sent me all 365 of her pictures.

SPEAKER_01Uh I got two. You got 365. Well, because she could air, no, because she can airdrop them to me. Yeah, that's why um where's my photos? Hold on. The first thing you see when walking into the park was the most brilliant thing I've seen all day, and then he stood when he we did when the boys did the set. So I hope you could see this. It says, I don't care if you're astray or a kid, hydrate. That's what the sign said.
SPEAKER_05So I'm coming in because and Ashley, Ashley, we will get to that shortly at some point in time. That that is that is going to be a topic of the city. Yeah, that that that'll that that's coming.
SPEAKER_01Like just the whole last part of this will be festival friggin' Felix, okay? Festival Felix. Who I got a I love you sign from. I just want that to be to be known. You you'll hear the whole story in a minute. On record. Um, for on the record, and and uh, and and another surprise that I'll tell you, but anyways, um, so where was I? Lines walking in, hydration stations. That was a long line. I'm like, at this point, I said, How much is a water? Like I had my water bottle. I'm like, I will pour a paid water in until I can get to VIP because when you were in VIP, you got water for free, and pit got big waters for free. VIP got little waters for free, pit got big waters for free. Oh, yeah, we're gonna talk about that too. Kelsey. So um Kels, Kelsey, that's I'm talking. So we go over to VIP, assess everything, big lounges with like couches and chairs and stools and stuff. Um, I say to Nelly, I said, I'm gonna walk over to Pitt to see Pit. This is where it's gonna start to get a little bit. We're gonna talk about people being festival ready versus concerts. Okay. So I walk into the I walk into Pit, walk where the boys, where you saw the boys enter from, that was how you entered Pitt, but they went in front of it, the the the little thing. Yeah. So it would have been side by side. That's why I want you to just remember that kind of thing. So I'm standing there taking photos of where I am to comparison to the stage, because being in pit, it's the same type of thing. And I have a stay look at me. I knew it was because she was right up against the barricade at freaking 11:30 a.m. And she says, You can't stand there. And I'm like, I'm aware of that. I'm like, I'm just seeing how close Pit is, but you can't stand there for the show. I said, once again, I am aware of that. I said, it's okay, and I walk into the pit at this point, so I stand in the middle of the pit, like literally, like, okay, the pit's like this, in like directly in the middle, where you see me on every fucking video now on Gov Ball or that the dies have posted. You can see my regular being in the light, standing in the middle, okay. So, and I'm looking and I turn around and I see all these people leaning up against the edge of the stage on blankets, on sheets, sitting down, everything else. And I'm like, please God, I'm like, everything in me wants me to scream at these people, like, what the fuck are you doing?
SPEAKER_05But I didn't go enjoy the rest of the show.
SPEAKER_01Go and I didn't. I shut my mouth, I turned around, I walked out, I walked down the line, and there was this nice security guard there. And I said to them, You're not gonna let them camp out all day, are you? And he goes, Probably not. And I said, Not for nothing, but this is a festival, not a show. I said, and by the time two Hollis comes on, I'll tell you what, you're gonna want to kick them out because two Hollis fans will kick them out themselves. It's it's okay, it's just it's just fact. Okay, so yeah, you read the comments because I'm just gonna keep talking. So if anybody has a question, I'll stop. Yeah, so I say this to him and he laughs at me and he goes, I'll keep you posted because I knew it was gonna be the same security all day.
SPEAKER_05So I leave. Yeah, hell on Ashley. I'd be the same way because Ashley was talking about how she you're better than her because she would have been like, Don't disrespect me, child. I'm like, I mama voice would have come out and well, and that's what it was.
SPEAKER_01This girl was so much young, so much younger than me. And I was just like, it took me everything in my power to go, but I didn't.
SPEAKER_05I was I would, I would, I would, I would do it, I I would do it pleasantly with a smile on my face, and I would still very much be in line with everything, stay related, but at the same time, right?
SPEAKER_01So I leave, we find pickle, we find strawberry binny baby, we find um I love Lauren. Lauren's I love Lauren too. She's fantastic. I gave her the biggest hug. She's like, I love you. I'm like, I love you.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and I met her at the Orlando, uh, the Orlando uh drop for Karma.
SPEAKER_01She's so fantastic. I met her, I met um X Teeny Spoon, right? Is that how she goes with? No, it's one X One X Blue Something Spoon. I can look it up. Oh, I thought it was teeny anyway. But that's Emmy. Emmy was awesome. Emmy is like, I love her. Um, and then Lady Emu Designs, which is Pickle's partner for Love Stay Studios. She's the one that designs all the stickers. So 1X Blue Spoon? Is it? I thought one X, one X in a blue spoon. In a blue spoon. That's I knew there was an I in there. That's why I kept thinking Teeny. Anyways, in a blue spoon. Okay, so that's Emmy. She's awesome. So we had like this crew. Kim and Christy joined us for a little bit, but then she would they went back to VIP. I turned into that one sound. I love you. Oh, okay. So, um, right. So we go, we eat Shake Shack because we gotta put, you know, you need like a you need to balance out, like you need the protein and the carbs to keep the energy up. Shake shack burger, very good, decently priced. I was like, okay.
SPEAKER_05As much as you hate to say it answered. You know what's funny?
SPEAKER_01It wasn't that greasy. Well, and the salt. You need the salt, like the salt. Well, yeah, I was gonna say the salt, I mean, that's hydration. I mean, you think the salt keeps the water in your body, so it was fine. So then we just kind of walked around, went to they went to general merch. I kind of just like hung around, saw where the lockers were, met other people, you know, like things. VIP was complete. So here's the deal VIP and pit and and G A. G A let me tell you, G A got a lot of the boys at night. We'll talk about that when it comes, but I just want to say VIP, the amenities are worth it, it's worth the extra cost. Pit viewing, I would do again in a heartbeat. That's the only thing. And I was not uncomfortable in that pit whatsoever. We'll talk about that when we talk about the concert. But anyway, so yeah, so the throughout the day, listen to other bands. Pit, you go right in. Some of the other bands had nobody in pit, so you were walking right up front. Um, yes, it was hot. I think I was so used to New York day two being as hot as it was. Plus, I was in shorts and a mesh top and a bra and a sports bra. So I literally had next to nothing. And if I was really that hot, I would have taken off the mesh top and just been in the sports bra and the shorts. But thankfully, there was a breeze that came up.
SPEAKER_05Then we wouldn't see you, so we wouldn't have seen you as easily.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you wouldn't see me as easily. So I kept the yellow on. But, anyways. Um, so then okay, comes time we got we ate something right before dinner, like like 3:30-ish, because we're like, okay, I picked pizza and it was actually really, really good pizza. I had a margarita pizza, it was small, but it was good. Shoved shit in lockers, went to the pit because we were we we wanted to hear Wetlag, which is the band that Mimi was saying was so great. They're a Manchester UK band, they're fucking awesome. I I'm gonna look into them more. They are really, really the lead singer girl, Mimi's right. She's like hot shit, like guitar guitar player, like pink and like red hair, like just awesome. Freaking diesel, like she was showing the guns. I was like, yes. Um, awesome. So then in the middle, so in the middle of this, this is where it's gonna get. We're gonna kind of veer off a little bit about stuff. They announce that the boys are going to go on at 6 15 because of impending storms. Major laser is gonna move over to the Snapchat stage. Straight kids is gonna go on 6 15, 6 15 to 7 30. Yep. They flash it on the screen, you get it as a text message in the app, you get it as an email in your thing. There was no reason in the free world, because this was done at 3 45, that if you had messaging, you would know to get your ass there then. So two and a half hours early. Two and a half hours you have to get your ass there. Okay, number one. Everybody who is complaining, well, I walked in at six and I didn't get turned away and this the other thing. It's a music festival, it is not a concert, it's going to start regardless if you're there or not.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so you can't be even a c even a concert is gonna start regardless of whether you are there or not. So long as the performers are there, it's gonna happen like right people because we had the same issue with Atlanta where people people were complaining in Atlanta that they didn't get to their seats for the first couple it was an emergency thing if they didn't go when they were right then they weren't playing and which would you rather okay people which would you rather have happen so and I I I want to point out something too because when I saw that that and and JC can confirm when I saw that that that happened I specifically asked her can you go look at your look at your ticket I'm like I want to see whether it says rain or shine number one yeah um because it's an outdoor event so usually when you have an outdoor event it's gonna say rain or shine or it's you know or it's gonna be it's gonna say something along the lines of weather permitting like there's usually some sort of verbiage when you're raining and it does or outside verb it's an outside thing. But beyond that but beyond that I saw I'm gonna I'm gonna jump in here just because I saw a TikTok today actually where somebody had shown up they had shown up at like 630 and they weren't being they they closed the gates at 630 from what I understand. They were not allowing any other and any other entrance after 630 and they were complaining about the fact that they weren't being allowed in because at 630 it was still sunshining out right and if it's still sunshining out why can't we go in understand something and I'm just I'm gonna I'm gonna put this out as somebody that has done outdoor events for years in Florida no less where you never know like literally if no one's been to Florida when we have our afternoon storms you don't know if you're gonna get a couple of minutes of rain you don't know if you're gonna get a couple minutes of deluge of like literal typhoon level whatever you don't know if you're gonna get two or three hours of water half the time like it's it's it's unpredictable. I will give this as an example in 1993 my very first year doing Renaissance festivals the very first day of my very first show in high school doing this show. Yeah we knew a storm was coming in but the show's rain or shine so I get picked up it takes us forever to get to the site because the storm we got hit with was so freaking ridiculous that for the only second time in 20 plus years that that show had been performed, they shut the show down for the day because of weather. Right. It ended up that that storm is now called the no name storm because what we essentially got was a great category one hurricane. We were just expecting rain like we just expected just it was going to be a rainy day. So I'm using that as an example of just because it looks perfectly okay out there right that second doesn't mean it's not going to change quickly number one and number two regardless regardless they need to get everyone off that site as quickly and safely as possible they need to make sure that all of the artists are taken care of and secure they need to make sure that all of the crew are taken care of and secure and they need to lock down everything that they need to lock down in case it gets worse than what they were anticipating. Which this this was yeah when I'm telling you within minutes I'm saying minutes the boys walk off stage the guys literally walk off stage and I look to my right and there is this cloud barreling in this dark storm cloud and I said to everybody in the thing because we were going to wait till it it let out a little bit more I said we need to go get the stunt of the laps now and start walking back to the train and when I'm telling you that it was we're gonna I'm gonna talk about that at the end because I want to talk about the show first it's all of the safety shit that nobody thinks about and I understand look I and I'm I'm going to caveat this with for anybody that was upset depressed disappointed whatever that they couldn't get in that the stuff got moved that the stuff got moved around I get it you are fully within your right to feel all that that is not any way shape or form but to sit there and throw out the well it's sun it's sunshining right now so why can't I go in?
SPEAKER_01Bitch sit the fuck this sit your ass down and shut up right like that's not how this works that's this that's not how that's not how well and here's the thing it's a festival so once again I'm gonna say you paid all that money just to go see stray kids it is not a stray kids concert yeah it was a festival anybody who knows a festival things change could change at the drop of a hat artists times everything you have to pay attention to that so your butt should have been there way ahead of time like I'm saying three o'clock three o'clock your butt should have been walking in to see the lay of the land yeah to get in and get adjusted at least at the end at least and there was there was somebody online too there's somebody on threads why is my tablet stop tablet behave um the there was somebody on threads too that they made the comment about you know well it's because there were three acts that were cut because it was blood orange no major laser got bumped major laser got moved over to a different stage but in order to move them to a blood orange blood orange and got cut and then a third one was cut from that from the third stage. So I don't remember that got cut completely they were gonna let that third act play but then they realized it was going to play over the kids and they said no.
SPEAKER_05Well well because that would be good because they wouldn't have had much of a they wouldn't have had much of an audience so but but but there were acts that were cut and somebody's like man that's got to suck like how how she that's right thank you Calliucci as a as a performer how to like that's got to feel horrible as a performer and I pointed out to them that yeah okay it yes it sucks but it's part of the gig especially when you sign up to do an event like this right where it's outside where you don't know what the weather's gonna do where you're playing with multiple acts where things get moved around and shuffled around for necessity purposes and it's just something you kind of have to you kind of have to roll with because when you are dealing with a live show you control the controllables as much as you possibly can you accept the fact that there are going to be things you can't control like the fucking weather and you do everything you can to try to take that into account. And then when things come up you do the best you can do to ensure that the show itself is able to be finished in a safe way for everybody.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_05So at the end of the day yes it sucks but like JC pointed out the alternative was you just didn't get to see straight kids at all. Right and that certainly wasn't gonna go over so right so that yeah exactly they I mean come on so so anyways all right so that happened yes they moved them up right no no it's all right so yeah so that happened okay they I'm when I'm telling you then people didn't check things because when I got the message it was right away when we heard grumblings that the storm was going because actually it was funny because um Mr Pickle I'll call him Mr Pickle Pickle's husband um had said storms are coming they're gonna hit between 8 30 and 9 or 8 8 and 8 30 I'm looking I'm looking something up just because I want to see me who wasn't there I want to see I want to see what time I knew it was gonna it that the right right right it's you you had texted me so you wouldn't you could even use that but all right so eight o'clock it was gonna storm okay fine so everybody knows that everybody's standing around people come in the staff I'm gonna first say this anybody who mistreated staff at GovBall you're an asshole because the staff was so accommodating number one so welcoming so awesome if you got yelled at by staff you did something fucking stupid okay like not listen to them getting out of the way or you know whatever it was because there was two lady staff members inside the pit very nice handing out water to people handing out soda people making sure the cooler was set talking to security in the front of the pit um one helped there was a stay that went down before the boys even came out helped get her over and get her help and get her out which I found out from the stay that that bitched about Gov Ball this there was some things that Gov Ball that deserved to get bitch about.
SPEAKER_01I'm not gonna say that hey Phoenix I read her thing she didn't deserve all the hate she was getting for calling out gov ball some of the stuff I don't agree with her some of the stuff I do the friend she was with was a was a stay that I met on Thursday night in the city. It was a stay that was behind me at Gongcha. So if that stay sees this I'm sorry that you needed medical attention and I feel horrible um so anyway so that so that the staff in the pit I can concur and some of the security that I talked to throughout the day because stay did get told to leave by the way I meant to to preempt that the stay that barricade that stayed all day that that camped were cleared out of there at one point and then some of them trickled back little by little yeah well I mean um so yeah so we got there there was enough room first of all I want to tell you this there was enough room we walked in to watch wet lag and then we were gonna stay for major laser and we walked in no problem right in when I'm saying again where I picked right in the middle of the freaking pit. Okay so it was me pickle mr pickle mini pickle mini pickle is seven and um Emmy Jenny came uh Jess there was a bunch of people and we kind of had like our own little cohort but we kind of but we spread out and we made enough room for people to move up and whatnot. So getting ready boys go on at 6 15 on the dot okay things go up straight kids with a red K is back and what I'm saying that for a reason because we're gonna come back to this later.
SPEAKER_05Stray kids with a red I I who was not there found out at 523 that the schedule had been changed. All right that's that's that's a little late but I'm just saying but people who were on site if you had that app you found out much sooner I found out because somebody who was there poke like did the like by the way just in case you didn't see the schedule's been changed.
SPEAKER_01Like I mean so right even if it was five o'clock I'm just saying at that point you should say to yourself maybe I should go over now I'm but anyways so Straight Kids Anthem goes up red K. Remember this okay da da da intro they come out top line is their first song out and it fucking was on fire like they from the minute they hit the stage I knew this was going to be the show of shows to see okay you just knew from that energy you could feel it it literally felt like somebody just literally hit you with like an energy like like like scion just went and it just went through you. Like it yeah it was just it was amazing. So now let me explain to you the stage you got pit in the middle you got VIP on the left hand side you got GA behind you and to the right okay so the main stage was here then there was a catwalk here then so on if Pitt turned around there was here there was like their little walk area so it was like it was like a it was like like an L shape at the end right so so the guys utilized it all so even though when when they were on that front part of the stage and their backs were to us it still was like having it was like equidistant from the top front where I was in the middle so there was not like there literally was not a bad spot to be in pit. You could be in the back you could be in the middle you could be in the front you saw it all yeah VIP had a hell of a hell things like if you see Kim's pictures Kimmy's pictures it was just like yeah Denise was like I was so close in my I saw Denise I saw your video like when they walked in I mean they walked right past everybody in GA and VIP were kind of like out into the thing there. But they even got down like Felix at one point went down and went to GANGin did I end and went and did hands and water and everything else. So it's like everybody got the experience you know what I mean and when they were on the front there like Lino would turn around Han would turn around Felix would turn around Hyunjin was like this one spot I don't know who was in that general vicinity but he kind of like hung out in this one spot it was really cute. Because at one point I'm like hey Jenny and like he kind of like turned because it was funny because the lights that's the only thing that I hated so the the spotlights are here and like they're like in your eyes.
SPEAKER_05So like you kind of like are squinting like try to see the guys and the guys are squinting you know what I mean but um that was my video on skiz the guys walking in oh okay maybe we had a similar spot to Jen minus the side cat walk yeah manhandled to say ha ha ha it was a big you should when I got manhandled by one of the guards because he went to go stand up on the they got those little pedestals for like the the the attendants to stand on um for the attempt for the for the attendants to stand on and whatnot.
SPEAKER_01And so Ian went to go went to go hop up on one of those and the oh that oh did she nope that's where the baby was Mimi I guess or somebody there was a there was a little stay that was right there. There was quite there was a few kids but they but the kids were so good and they were like you know like Mimi was saying you don't bring a toddler or like a baby to the fit festival okay like mini pickle was seven and when I tell you what happened to Minnie Pickle you're gonna just die.
SPEAKER_05But anyways so top line goes then they do I don't even know what order I just was like I'm sorry I don't know the order I was in the zone I was lost I was just there in the moment I don't remember I remember yeah go pull it up because I'm like like so much somebody posted the set list somebody posted the set list before the amendments were right before well because remember they had to change it so like there was stuff that was missing like hall of fame which okay if you're gonna preempt everything I could type that would be lovely I was gonna say words shannon but with your fingers if anybody has ever been in a chat with me you know damn well that I am as equally as word shannon on typing as I am which is hilarious because I'm a freaking administrative assistant you get me on a on a on a laptop I'm fine this thing uh uh uh um anyway go ahead I'm putting the hat on backwards to say this part go ahead I'm okay well yeah I'm trying to remember things yeah that that I that's getting its own conversation Denise because that's what I used if anybody had seen stay talk um earlier when I posted my get ready video that's the song I used I used side effects um and some of you saw my live so thank you because I I tried to I was gonna go back live later but my when you go in the pit you have no more service you have no more Wi-Fi which again I want to point out because I I had I had mentioned to somebody else somebody because somebody I I mentioned it to JC that I didn't like the fact that unless you were in unless you were in VIP you did not have access to Wi-Fi and receptionist body which overseas probably not as much of a big deal but here in America the not being able to access emergency services at the drop of a hat in this day and age on American soil is a really stupid fucking move and gov ball needs to fix that. That's one of the things that they really do need to fix because I'm sorry just from a security standpoint that was one of those where I was like really like you're just asking for something bad to happen aren't you but and if you're from America you know exactly what the fuck I'm talking about.

Then they take it down so I can't find it I'm like why did they take it down and then Jess goes oh it's on Twitter now and oh now it's on Instagram so I guess they didn't want to put it on YouTube first or whatever it was but Jess had taken a screen video of it before it even came down so she was like she was like here now you get to see you know your yellowness or whatever else I was like okay your your royal yellowness yeah my royal yellowness so anyway so I'm but watching but at this moment like of of Divine coming out and that and that shot I mean from the front remember while we're watching it this way to sing Minnie's part and to hear stay even with my loops in I mean I can hear everything it but it's just a little bit more muffled thank god so my ears go warm warm warm but yes it was I literally I teared up like I literally was like and everybody around is just singing like their hearts out okay so that was a moment so I'm so glad that that got back to Minnie because to get that bubble at after all this from him saying thank you and yeah I just was like yeah so it was just and and and we did the cheer we did the sungman you know cheering but but the cutest part of the whole thing was the rubber duckies because we had gotten them ready and then we pulled them out and Han caught on and like chuckled like and you could hear that squeak squeak like I mean it was it you could hear it.

SPEAKER_01And she's got her little bulkuddy, you know, little head things, and she's bobbing and she's waving at Felix, and Felix notices her and starts going like this to her. Yeah, and like and like and sees her, like he's pointing at her. And when that's going on, so of course I'm right there in my bright yellow, you know, beacon of Bokari, as I'm calling it, and so I go to the side and he's still like hanging around, and I started doing this to him, and I got this back. Nobody has it on video, but it happened because Allie Pickle stops and goes, Did that just happen? And I'm like, I know it happened to her, but did I see it happened to me? And she goes, That happened to you. I am a witness, I saw it, and I was just like, and then Emmy comes rhyme and goes, Are you okay? I'm like, I I I think so. I think I'm okay. So I was like, I was like, I don't know if I'm okay, but I'm okay, you know. And then I just kept, and I mean everybody's dancing and everybody's having a good time. But that was like my one moment where I was like, he did see me. I made eye contact, he saw the sign. Like it was all like it was like I have been perceived. I have been perceived in my yellow in my yellow brilliance. So, anyways, so the show goes on. Him and that jacket, somebody compared today. Maria did, Sherilyn did, and I was like, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_05That that okay, so you know as soon as I saw as soon as I saw that jacket, I knew damn well it wasn't gonna stay closed. Like that was that was a no, it was being held together by one button. I'm sorry, unless it is the adamantium buttons they put on Chris's clothes, that shit ain't staying closed. It's gonna sit there and eventually it's gonna it's gonna pop. Well, first of all, when he came out, or he gotta he's gonna fix it.
SPEAKER_01Like in a fine robe, and you could just see the snippet. I was like, What are you doing there, Felix? Like, what you're wearing there, like, huh? And then, and then of course, and then the jacket opens, and then you're just like useless, useless button, useless button, use useless, the useless jacket has been transferred from Chan to Felix, at least for this particular occasion. But and then I mean, when he took the one shoulder out and it was down, like everybody has that shot where he's walking and he took the one shoulder. I'm like, just take it off then at this point.
SPEAKER_05I think that was around the time I that was around the time I posted something on Threads about the fact that we are seeing far more of Felix than we are of Chan in this particular environment. And I was dying because it was hilarious to me. I was like, wait a minute, this is what we normally see from someone else. He's over here being reserved and tank top and whatever.

SPEAKER_05I'm reserved reserved for him during a show. Let's see. Okay, there was things that people didn't get on camera that he was like from what I could see. Again, I'm watching from afar. I was like, there was parts where he was lurking around and but regardless, I was literally like, we are seeing far more of Felix than we are of Chan during this particular engagement. Um here's my suggestion: a three-day thing at Madison Square Garden, because that's 15 to 20,000 people a day. So everybody will get a chance that would normally be all at one to see them.

SPEAKER_01Right, two multiple days in a row. I mean, fish did 13 days, a baker's dozen at MSG and to and sold it all out. Stray kids can do three days or whatever and sell it out. I know, but it's I I kudos as well to whatever team they currently have working on social media that is basically because it's not just it's not just the gov ball social media, it's straight kids social media that is putting out a ton of stuff, which about damn time, boys. Like freaking god, do the things.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna talk, yeah. Mimi, I'm gonna I'm now I'm gonna talk about this. So here's here's I have this is where I'm gonna start to school you young stay people from maybe a slightly longer show this evening. Just say from the subject. Just from the subject. We're gonna school you just a little bit. First of all, this is a festival, and I'm gonna underline festival. Do you know what that means? That means there are other acts and other artists who are going to be in the stage space that you want to stay in and camp out all day. And first of all, that's disrespectful and unfair to other people who bought tickets to see their artists perform at said festival. Okay, so the fact that you got there at 6 40 fucking five, I I if I was a cop, I would have booted your ass out. That's number one. In the morning.
SPEAKER_02You're not coming in, or you're not, I mean, you stayed in line at 6 45. Like again, it's a festival. It's supposed to be a free movie, you're supposed to enjoy it. What the fuck did you enjoy standing at barricade all freaking day in the sun? Yeah, you had water and soda. What did you enjoy? That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my free fucking life. I just I just even when I was a young kid and loved a band, I wouldn't do that.
SPEAKER_01So that's what I don't do. It's not, it's not a straight kids concert. It was not a K-pop or straight kids or anybody else's concert where you should have been going up to the barricade and staying there all day. If I was at security, I would have kicked your ass out every single time and said, Who are you here to see? And if you couldn't name me one of those bands, you were not getting into the pit at that point. That's what I would have done. They should have just had bracelets if you were just there to see stray kids. They should have done something like that. And what happened, what would have happened is until they were on, you could scan it in when they were on. But until then, you couldn't go into the pit. Because when I'm telling you, I walked in there and there had to be 40 or 50, maybe 60 stay all around the edge waiting at 11 in the pit at 11:30 in the morning when there's all sorts of other stuff going on. Why would you pay that sort of money just to see the guys for an hour and 20 minutes, an hour and a half?
SPEAKER_05Not to mention you're in the pit. You're gonna have when you show up, you're like, okay, I wasn't there, but from what you showed, from what you showed on the line and whatnot, as soon as you walk in, it's like no matter what, I'm gonna have a good view. If you are in the pit, you have access to couches, you have access to AC, you have access to food and shit. Why the you sitting on your ass in the sun all goddamn day?
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm saying. Like, let the that just that just got me to know available. And and Kimmy is right, they um they did it in VIP too. VIP people were up against. Like, there was a girl that needed medical attention, she wanted her friend to go with her. This is how Hey Phoenix got pissed because there was a woman saying, I'm not moving. What do you mean you're not moving? This person needs medical attention. Move so she can get to to where she needs to go. No, I've been standing here all day.
SPEAKER_05Are you fucking serious right now? They they moved they moved for the person that needed medical attention, but when when one of the one of the rest of the group was going to go with them in order to be right, she wouldn't move.
SPEAKER_01But what I'm saying is once that person standing in your spot, she wants to walk past you to go walk with her friend to the medical attention. I have a problem with that. Yes, I have a problem because that's not what stay should do for other stay. Nope. I don't care how long you've been standing fucking there. No. What's it? I saw that story and I don't want to bring it up because I've been hearing back and forth that that may have not happened, and it's back and forth.

SPEAKER_01Yeah, Mimers, you're right. She said, even the famous sayings were walking around and these people don't want to move. They did. I saw her, I saw one of them walking walking around and eating food and relaxing and listening to other music. Huh? I still don't know how she was even there, but we're not gonna get into that on the case. We're not gonna get into that. Yeah, I didn't get to the stage until 4045 and was second row for Varicade BF. Denise, exactly. That's what I'm saying. We walked in, we wanted to see wet lab. We walked in. When I'm telling you, there was room. We could have fit more in pit. They didn't oversell it. I I want to say this. They did not oversell it and they upgraded people, and they upgraded people that day. In that pit was 300 stay. And I know this because the staff was clicking and I said to her, How many more people need to come in here? And she looked at her thing and I looked at her tally, and it was 205. And she said about a hundred more. And when I looked around, comfortably, a hundred more could fit. I don't think a hundred more showed up, I think 50 did. Because maybe some of them were over at Major Laser, or some of them, you know what I mean? Like it could be, remember, they sold pit, but it's pit for all three days or for the night or whatever, and it's not just for straight kids again. Yeah, well, that's not just for straight kids, but there was other artists there.
SPEAKER_05That's that's the problem right there, and that is exactly what the problem is right there. Is that there were people. I'm looking, I'm gonna get on my high horse for just what's your point though? There were people that this is their first time seeing straight kids, and I get it. I trust me, I understand the excitement. I understand the wanting to go see these guys after however long you've been watching on TV and content and this, that, and the other. Totally understand that excitement level. Completely get it. But this is not a stray kids concert, it is a completely different experience. You are getting a completely different version of stray kids from what you would get during the but I think people understood that. That's not but people understood that, even the first drinkers did. I don't think so. I think there were plenty of people there that did not understand the difference between a concert and a festival, and that there the purpose of a festival is not one artist, the purpose of a festival is that it is celebrating multiple artists and multiple acts, it is giving you access to multiple different artists and performers. It is exposure to shit that you wouldn't necessarily normally have exposure to within those within the genres and whatnot. The purpose of a festival is not one act, it is all the acts. And I think there were plenty of people that were there that didn't understand that concept.
SPEAKER_01Maybe, but they weren't in pit. Anybody who was in pit, there was two people that said to me it was the first time they saw straight kids, but they came to spend all day at the festival and that's what they did. So they understood the meaning. I'm not saying people in VIP that probably did, but there was people that saw wanted to see straight kids for the first time. If that's your prerogative, so be it. If that was what we say, you were going to see them recently and you really wanted to see them. A lot of people that came to GovBall were DC do-overs because I found a couple of them. There were people that said, I was in DC, I didn't get to see a full show, I came up here to see it. That's fine. Like I don't know what the problem with, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_05We're gonna touch on that here in just a little bit too, because that kind of plays into it. And and again, I'm not I'm not broad brushing it. There were also plenty of people there that understood the assignment, they didn't lose the plot, they you know, they they they they went to see a show and they enjoyed what the full what the full experience of the show happened to be, regardless if straight kids was their main focus. I the I'm not I'm not saying that there were um the ones that were the ones that I am talking about that I was seeing stories of, that is a small percentage of the overall. But the problem is that it is a it is it was a big enough percentage to cause impact. The fact that I, who wasn't at that show, know some of these stories already, yeah, is proof to the fact that it was a big enough issue that it was able to be, it was it was able to be brought to the attention of. Um, and I another thing that went along with that too is there were people that were talking about the fact that um so some of the quote unquote older shows the older songs came on, and nobody there there were plenty of people there that were like were looking like deer on the headlights that didn't know what the fuck they were listening to. And I get that too. I get that too, because you you can't I I fully understand you can't necessarily listen, especially if you are like a bait, like if you are a brand new baby stay and you've only been in the you've only been here for like a couple of months, you may not have listened to the full discography yet. But if you've been it, I'm gonna get I'm gonna get slightly gatekeepy in this regard. If you have been here since karma and you have not at least familiarized yourself with the various albums and some and and at least some of the B sides, why are you here? Yeah, and again, the the number of songs you know isn't isn't isn't my point here, right? The the problem is is that when you have quote unquote fans, and I'm not calling them stay yet, but when you have quote unquote fans that are sitting there screaming and yelling and whatnot, that they love these guys so fucking much, and all they know are the title songs since Karma the title songs since Carmel released, and whatever title songs they've watched music videos of on YouTube. They don't know any of the B-sides, they don't know any, like you love these men so much, but you've not spent any time familiarizing yourself with the very thing that they love.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna call you on something you say all the time because I don't agree with this. I get no, I get it. They're only responsible for our own actions or reactions. No, I'm not gonna say that. You say all you have to do is love the eight men and like their music. If they didn't listen to their other music, that doesn't make them any less of a stay because eventually they may they may do that. You can't go there. That's being you know what I'm gonna call you on that. That's that's too gatekeeping. That's wrong.
SPEAKER_05And and and and I I will I will accept that, but I've also I was also seeing evidence of, at least from some of the reports that I was seeing from what happened at GovBall, that there were some folks at GovBall, which kind of plays into the whole the way Felix was acting thing. There were some folks at GovBall that they are only here to watch the guys based on aesthetic and not on their actual fucking music. That I do have a problem with who said that well, no, it's it's based not not that anybody has said it directly, it's based on the actions of some of the people that have that that have that's bullshit too.
SPEAKER_01Because if you if you're gonna stand there for an hour and 30 minutes and not like nod your head to the music or whatever else, then you're a fuck ass. Like, I'm sorry, regardless of aesthetics, that's bullshit.
SPEAKER_05There were people that were talking, but there were people that were talking about like side effects came on, and everybody was like, What the fuck?
SPEAKER_01There there are there are people around them that were like well because there's people that aren't gonna like side effects because of what type of song it is. That I can understand. So it's not gonna is not gonna appeal to everybody. It's not like tortoise in the hair. Tortoise in the hair, you either love it or you don't. Like there's no and and there and there's many, many a stay, and I'm talking stay that like knows every shit, that doesn't like Taurtous and the Hair. I but that's but they've at least but they've at least familiarized themselves with but again, you don't have to familiar, they will eventually, if they really want to dive into the boys, they will. But some people just like to listen to something over and over again that they like, and that's what they're gonna do. But again, that doesn't make them any less if they're sticking around to find out more about the guys and their music, regardless of what timing it.
SPEAKER_05That's that's and that's a difference, too. If if they don't know and they're sticking around to find out, that I'm not talking about those people, I'm talking about people that are purely there because this is trendy, this is aesthetics, this is they're not gonna stick around. They're not there.
SPEAKER_02There was also people that but let's go back up. There was also people there that were not there to see straight kids, but were there to see the festival so decided to stay and watch them, and you saw 50-50. That's I'm not I'm not talking about those people either.

They may not be, they may be fair weather fans or whatever, but they're not gonna be, and they're gonna then they're gonna eventually dispose. Yeah, they'll they'll they'll dissipate, they'll just they'll they'll so I'm just saying but I don't that don't say that because that's being elitist. It really is. There's some someone huh? I've had a weekend. I've had a weekend listening to this shit because it was like, What are you fucking kidding me? But that's what pisses me off because I was there, and so people are like, Well, this happened and this happened and this shouldn't have happened. Were you there? No, so you don't know firsthand certain things, and I'm not saying that to you, I'm saying that to in general because people want to go on their high horse on the fucking internet and be freaking keyboard warriors and try to blast things out of proportion. So she's watching the show, but also recording.

Like, but it's a and also and perhaps perhaps I I will I will add to that in regards to being called out on it because I've by all means call you know me, call me out on shit. But I also think part of part of it from my perspective, too, hearing some of the stories that I've been hearing coming out from people that were from people that were there and whatnot that had these experiences, knowing how fandom life cycles get and having been through it with other things, I'm seeing the same pattern. Yeah. And there's always that group that are the sort that I'm talking about, where it's just purely aesthetic, it's just purely surface level, and it's just right and and yeah, yes, is it gatekeepy? Yeah, he may have been the only one with the jacket open, but if you watch Shenjin and his performance, and Chris and Chanbin and taking his down his jacket and showing his muscles, and Leno going nuts and dancing, okay? And Ian doing the tongue thing, they were all on fire. There was something in the air that was different, okay? Second of all, Felix doesn't owe you shit. He's feeling himself, and God bless him. Because if I looked that damn fucking good, I'd be prancing on the stage topless too. Now, mind you, I'd be covered because I'm a woman. But besides that fact, what I'm saying is depending on what country you're in, because sometimes that's true. That's true. But what I'm saying is it he has a right to feel good about performing and so excited. And that's he's always been like that. He's always had this this you see it. Go go back, baby stay that don't know this, go back and go look at other outdoor performances. Start with Hyde Park, not even outdoor.

SPEAKER_01No here. Uh no, I found it. Their problem wasn't Felix being too feral. This is this, I this point is uh I I kind of like it. He was being too masculine. They want him to be cute, fond gazing, and needing members' muscles, not appealing to crowds of people, primarily women. Someone said they were uncomfortable with Felix's shirt being open because of their faith, but I pointed out they were in a summer music festival in New York, and there were certainly hundreds of men and women in vastly less modest attire. So I asked them if she was uncomfortable around them, and there was silence, just mental gymnastics. And here's the thing. Yes, he was very if you or if you're gonna put a gender on it, which you shouldn't, but if you are, what him on stage is a very masculine feel. He still looks uh androgynous, he still looks beautiful, Felix. To me, lately, he's looked more to me, but I don't care either way. I love him beautiful and girly looking, and I love him beautiful and manly looking. It doesn't matter, and that's why he likes the androgynous, you know what I mean? Like, yeah, he appeals to both. Well, I guess because do you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_05So a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, we were encouraged as human beings to explore not just our mass and not just our our our feminine side or whatever our outward appearance thing, yeah. But the fact that we as human beings, right? As human beings, we are both masculine and feminine. Now, just like everything else, there is a spectrum with that. Some people tend more masculine, some people tend more feminine. It's due to a whole bunch we've now through science been able to figure out it's due to a whole bunch of things, but there are ancient cultures who did not have the scientific access to this information that fully understood that and encouraged the exploration therein, right? Just putting that out there, you take it. No, I agree, I agree. So whether you're right, and he is somebody who has been able to basically explore both aspects of that within himself. It's like it's it's threatening to people because he is comfortable in his skin, right? And he's comfortable with who he is, right? And regardless of what labels and shit you want to smack on that man, right?
SPEAKER_01It doesn't matter. It's the only label that matters is what he thinks because it's him, because it's about him. So I so I did a post today, and I said, not wanting to get into the discourse because I'm still riding the high of being a gov ball. But this is what I said: I said, Felix is grown, and let me repeat that. Felix is a grown man, he was excited and feeling himself, and in no way was being disrespectful in the slightest. If you have a problem with how he was on stage, I'd look more internally about why it bothered you so much than put him down for doing something he loves, which is performing. He was performing, period.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like maybe maybe that's the reason why I came across some gatekeeping with my earlier conversation. Probably.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm tired of people too, but that's besides the point. That's just in general. That's that's on a daily basis. Like, you know what? I told you I am a pretty up person, I am a pretty content and happy person because I choose to be. Because if I was really who I would who I really am, I'm like Bruce Banner. I'm always angry. So just know you're getting the best version of me because I choose to give that to you.

I I I talk frequently now about the life cycle of fandoms in online and whatnot, because I've been I've been literally actively studying them now for all a little while because it's that I love sociology, so I love the way the brain works and the way people work. As much as I say I people drive me crazy, I have a love-hate relationship with people. I think just anybody in general. And I I just I love to see how things I love to see how things work, right? So if you're ever in New York and you're in Koreatown and you go to a place called Polka 42, it is a bar that sells watermelon soju and a watermelon and a watermelon. So it's like they take all the watermelon meat out and they puree it with the soju and they put it, they put ice in it, and they give you a ladle, and you have these like bowls, and you drink the watermelon soju, and you don't realize that it's hitting you like it is, because and then because your friend also poured the bottle of zero sugar soju in with the rest of watermelon soju, and so now you're having double soju, but that's but between the electrolytes in the watermelon and the water and the watermelon and not I went to bed at two o'clock in the morning and walked up at uh when woke up at 6 30, like bright and cheery, and I still don't know how I did that and survived all of Friday walking around the city and doing and everything else. Did they somebody rolled up with it and VIP with it? That's awesome. That's awesome. How'd they get that in there?
