Intro
Welcome to the elite official podcast, where we go beyond the whistle and into the journey of what it really means to grow as a referee and leader. I'm your host, Julie, and I'm so glad you're here. Whether you're new to this program or returning for another round.
This season is about transformation, and it starts right now. This week's focus is on why mentorship and mindset matter.
Why We’re Here
This podcast was built to support your development through the elite official mentoring program. It's not just a podcast to listen to. It's part of a 24 week journey, designed to challenge, elevate, and inspire your growth, on and off the court.
Every week will give you the insight, context, and mindset tips that connect directly to the weekly focus and assignments. It's like your weekly huddle, a place to regroup, recenter, and recommit.
Why Mentorship Matters
You can't grow in a vacuum. Mentorship is one of the most powerful tools we have as officials. It gives us feedback, perspective, and sometimes a much needed reality check.
But mentorship isn't just about getting answers or being evaluated. It's about being seen. It's about having someone in your corner who challenges you because they believe in you. Whether you're excited, nervous, unsure, or all the above, just know. You belong here.
What Full Participation Looks Like
Being in this program doesn't just mean you're on the roster. It means you're in the game. Full partisan means showing up. Completing the weekly assignments and reflecting on what you're learning. You will get out what you put in. This isn't about being perfect. It's about being present.
What to Expect Each Week
Each week, you will get an email with the week's focus, theme, and assignments. These topics build from mechanics and mindset to conflict management and professionalism. This is about becoming someone you want to work with
A Mindset for Growth
Your mindset this week and every week is 24 weeks to transformation. Think about where you are, and where you want to be. Some weeks will be harder than others, but if you stay in it fully, you'll come out more confident, prepared, and grounded.
Challenge of the Week
Your challenge for the week is to show up fully and follow directions.
Let me say that again. Follow directions. Please understand, we have many people we are working with.
And we need you to try to figure things out, reread them 2, 3, or 4 times, and if you're still stuck, you can reach out to us. This way, we can be most effective for everyone we are working with.
