SPEAKER_00We're here to share stories, laugh way too loud, and maybe spoke a little shampoo along the way. Just a quick heads off. We're not making any medical claims or giving professional advice here, just sharing our own thoughts, opinions, and experiences.
SPEAKER_01So grab your coffee, your favorite blanket, and let's hair it first.
SPEAKER_02Good morning and welcome back to Hair It First Podcast. You are Michelle Broggy, Monica McCafferty, and myself, Tessa. And we are happy to have you back if you're returning. If you are new here, welcome. We are we go over all kinds of different things. We talk about different topics. Sometimes we talk about hair, sometimes we talk about not hair. And we never know what we're gonna talk about. So um, and and honestly, we try to have subjects that we're gonna talk about, but there's a lot of times that we never even touch that subject. So never know what you're gonna get here, but we can't thank you enough for being here. So good morning, ladies. Good morning, good morning. How's it going? Oh good.
SPEAKER_01That's good. Good. It was a beautiful day.
SPEAKER_02Isn't it? It's beautiful here, anyways. Love it.
SPEAKER_01We're a little chilly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, chilly. I'm gonna try here in a little while. I'm gonna try. I have some strawberries.
SPEAKER_01Is that yours, Monica? Mom. He is crying because daddy's outside and he too wants to be outside.
SPEAKER_00You know what this was?
SPEAKER_02You know what this was?
SPEAKER_00Dog treats.
SPEAKER_02It was pizza so that I could feed my dogs. They their most favorite thing in the entire world is pizza. And so I had their oh hi!
SPEAKER_00Let me out.
SPEAKER_02Do you not have pizza on your desk for that? No. Absolutely not. I have dog treats on my desk, you know, in case we're recording and they are but I know they want to get outside today. Uh their collars broke, the ones that keep them in our 17 acres. So we have to replace those. And that was.
SPEAKER_00Did I tell you guys what happened last time we were filming? So I'm in a room and I shut my door and I have an all-black golden doodle. And you guys, he is he is like we call him a jock. Like my other dog was all poodle, delicate. Like he drink like and Cooper just like when he runs in from outside, you can hear him galloping on the deck, and we think he's gonna slide right into the door before you open it. It's insane, anyways. So when we were filming last week, I come out of the room and he had gotten in the trash, and I had coffee grounds all over my house. Oh okay, he doesn't do that. I'm like, dude, I'm in the house. Like what? And of course he's on his bed, like cowering, like I'm gonna beat him. Like, oh, just get away from me.
SPEAKER_01Our dog's laughing at me.
SPEAKER_00Monica's going muting yourself to deal with the dog.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so look, Craig is never here when we shoot podcasts. I'm normally home by myself, or I have like a sick kid asleep somewhere. Teddy is 10 years old, he's a Chesapeake, so they are well known for having hip dysplasia. So we have to monitor. He forgets that he has it. So he wants to run. Like he's so mad right now. He wants to run and go play. Well, Craig is out working on the truck because we had some rain, so they're not doing, I guess they're not working today doing fertilizer. So Teddy's like, Daddy's outside. Daddy's outside, let me go outside. But the problem with that is he will not just chill out, like he won't just go sit there. He'll go into the pond and chase the geese and chase the ducks and go in the field and do all this stuff, and then I have to carry him inside because he can't even get up because he's done run around so much. So we're trying to be more mindful because he will not be mindful.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Teddy will just Teddy's like, what are you talking about? I'll hurt later. It's fine. This is fun for right now. Yeah, we'll have to now he's upstairs crying. So sad.
SPEAKER_00It's kind of like us all day at work. I'll deal with the pain later. I'll deal with the pain later.
SPEAKER_01Y'all, I have had, it's been almost a week now. In the back of this shoulder, I don't know if I have too much like lymphatic, I need a good lymphatic drainage, or what the deal is. I am in so much pain that I sit with a heating pod, I my arms will go numb. I've done my acupuncture, which helped a lot. But now I'm like, I can't wait for Wednesday. I gotta massage because it hurts so bad that like when I go to roll over in bed, I'm like, ugh. He's like, What in the hell is wrong with you? Have you called the chiropractor? And I'm like, Well, I did, and they couldn't get me in until next week. And I'm like, hopefully, it'll be better by next week. It is now currently next week, and it is still not better. So we're just rolling with it.
SPEAKER_02I tried the chiropractor too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I hate when businesses don't answer the phone, like a chiropractor or something like that. I'm like, I need to make an appointment, a stylist. And I was just as I'm saying that, I'm like, oh wait, we don't answer our phone. But my clients, we have a phone just because none of my clients call that phone. None of them. We have one stylist whose clients call that phone. That's it.
SPEAKER_02I've gotten so much better about how I will not answer on the weekends if I'm and actually now I do Wednesdays and Thursdays at the shop. So Friday through Tuesday, I don't. And I will get back to all of them because it's so overwhelming sometimes. Like I have a list in my notes of people I have to get back to. But you know, even on a Saturday evening at 9:30 at night, I want to make an appointment. And used to, I would answer every single one of Sunday at 1 a.m. You know, and now I'm like, I will not do it. This won't do it.
SPEAKER_00You know what's hard though? Like from a person, a different person's point of view, like I'm thinking right now. I was supposed to call my insurance guy because I turned my lease in just like a week early, and he's like, just let me know, and I'll take the insurance off it. And I was gonna do it last night at nine o'clock, and I thought, oh no, it's nine o'clock at night on a Sunday, like, don't do that. But what is it right now? And then I'm just remembering to do it. It's like, yeah, oh my gosh. So now I have to write myself.
SPEAKER_01So I'm really good about it. I work Tuesday, I'm it's only supposed to be Tuesday, Thursday, but I don't, I lack boundaries. Um, but I will not answer the phone. I have 31 text messages to respond to and four phone calls. But if I open that message and a and a Facebook messenger, if I open that message, it will 100% not get looked at. So I know that tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock, I will text the 31 people that have messaged me. And you know, it used to bother the bejesus out of me, and now I'm like, listen, you at your nine to five job, when you leave work, your boss doesn't bother you. Nobody's asking you questions about work 99% of the time or 95% of the time. Like I am just not doing it. Like, I am a person outside of being a stylist. Yes. I have four children who have we're in baseball season, we're finishing out uh figure skating, like we're just we're living. So I I just not I'm just not doing it.
SPEAKER_02And that and it used to bother me too of like, oh I gotta, and now I'm like, I'm not. I just I I will get back to them during my work days out of whatever.
SPEAKER_01Which just made me realize Kenley doesn't have any physical therapy schedule this week. So I in fact do have to call those people. Yay.
SPEAKER_02Um now listen, the other day I was pissed. I went to the bank. I don't have a lot of time. When I get to the bank, a lot of times I'll drop mine off um, you know, through the window with my deposit slip and then go on. We have a small town bank, but the other day, the teller is like, um, I've uh I wanted to get my hair done, but can you do this? Blah blah blah. She literally passes the phone through the little thing. Not to my car. I grab a phone and look at it. I'm like, well, yeah, I can do that. And she's like, so when can you do it? I have this time, this time, and I was like, I am not at work. I do not have my book with me. It is not all in my memory. So I can't. You're gonna have to get a hold of me to if you know. So anyway, wrap this up two days later and go through. Maybe longer than that, maybe a week. I I think I want to do this instead. Passes the phone through, makes me look at it. Well, when can you can you get me in blah blah blah? And I said, you have to message me. Because when I'm coming through here, I don't have my book and I'm not on work, I'm not on on the clock. Message me. Don't try to make an appointment with me through the bank window, and don't show me your damn phone. Through the bank window, right when you have customers back there for one thing. So if you're listening, sorry. Or I'm in the grocery store. Uh, can you get me in next Thursday? If I I don't know, I don't have my book in front of me, and I'd hate to say it, and then not. What do you mean you don't carry your book with you? Oh, it adds to the book. All the time. Anyways, on a happier note, today we would like to share with you something exciting that we have started doing, and hopefully that you will tune in and give us some love and give us some shares and all of the things. Um if you're new here, we Monica Michelle and I are the stylist advisory board for Firmaglow. And so we do the education and different things for the company, all the deep dives and the systems and all the things. And so we have finally got to a point where we can get together on Mondays on TT. And I guess we don't have to on TikTok on TikTok and share some conversations about the products for Fermaglow, not just Fermaglow products, but also other products out there on the market who are doing you harm, um, and and different ingredients and things that you really got to watch out for. So anyway, we do that at 10 a.m. Central Standard Time, 11 a.m. Eastern Time on TikTok on Mondays. We also will be sharing it to our YouTube stylist, Fermaglow Stylist Advisory Board and our personal social medias. Yeah, yeah, and our personal social media. So you can go watch those, share those, um, and we would love for you to interact with them, get on there, ask us questions, things like that, as well as here. We would love for people to start calling in. We would love some call-ins on this. That would be fun. I think it would be so, so fun. I know. And now that Adam's off for the next six months, I expect him to do some call-ins. And he was actually gonna record today with us, but he chose diff disc golf um professional so he could get his little disc sign. Um I need to text him. Johnny Dog. I can't believe you guys had a dog. We've been busy this morning. We have been busy this morning. We are always busy.
SPEAKER_01We are.
SPEAKER_02Nope. But this the how we all got together, I'm sure if you've been on here, you know. Um through our company, Fermaglow, we met one time last year, and it was love at first sight. Love at first sight. In the hot tub, the cold hot.
SPEAKER_00In the hot tub, the cold hot tub. Actually, it was the hot hot tub that we wanted cold because I put the cold hose in. Remember, it was so hot, but the hot tub wasn't working.
SPEAKER_02It was just because of well, we couldn't have that. We didn't have that package to make well, it was also Tampa in August.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, can you guys imagine how hot it's gonna be in Dallas in July?
SPEAKER_00My clients are like, Oh, you're gonna have so much fun. I'm like, excuse me, I'm not leaving the hotel. I don't like a hundred-degree weather, so I may take an Uber to a restaurant, but this girl's not gonna be walking around town only to do our lives, maybe. Yeah, and I probably might melt. Like, I am the older I get, the more I hate heat.
SPEAKER_02Why are we gonna get you a live outside? I can't wait outside. I can't handle it. I'll do it right from our hotel bed. We'll just like scrunch in there together. We'll have our little blankets because we'll have the air conditioner on 45. Right? No, we won't. No, we won't.
SPEAKER_00Bobby. Listen, you better get the pasture blanket because I get freaking hot at night. I am bringing my sound machine though that I use for my grandkids.
SPEAKER_02That's like Michelle are rooming together, and I'm jealous, but I'm gonna come in.
SPEAKER_00I got two beds, so you can come, you can just call Adam.
SPEAKER_02I did. Hi, Adam. Yeah, oh my god, see, I love you both.
SPEAKER_01She did. She texted me and was like, I changed it to two beds, and Case just wants to sleep over.
SPEAKER_02You guys are the best ever. We're having a sleepover. I know. That's the you guys. See, we love each other so much. We all just we are so in love.
SPEAKER_00I can't believe I didn't tell you that.
SPEAKER_01No, I forgot. That's what she texted me. She was like, I got our room changed around and I did two beds instead of one, so that that way when Tessa wants to stay the night, we can't have her. I mean, we would have we would have just put you a three three-way in our bed, but like we would have made it happen.
SPEAKER_02I would have slept on a floor if I had to. Just to stay all night with you guys. Well, I wouldn't want to. But yeah, I'm not sleeping on a hotel floor. I'm so excited about this. I know. Can we jump from bed to bed?
SPEAKER_00Sure. Like monkeys? Well, you know, it all depends on my frickin' back. If I could get one of the shots to work, that would be great. Oh, you're gonna have shots. Not those kind of shots.
SPEAKER_01And listen, we have we actually do have like two nights where it are free. We've got Wednesday night and Thursday night were free because Friday night we have where people get to meet and greet us, which I think is very strange that anybody is like, I think we're gonna meet and greet. And they're like, who are they meeting? And I'm like, well, apparently they're meeting us. And we went to sign boobs. I will not. I might sign a boob. Um, and then we know I'm not yeah, Michelle Purdue is the guru. Well, she's gonna get her tattoo.
SPEAKER_02Oh, she's not we gotta get the two 28 and the two 28 in the mic. Love that microphone, the old time microphone. Yeah, we're going to get tattoos.
SPEAKER_01We'll get it figured out when we get it. Uh look what happens to me when needles go on my body. Come on, that is just that. That was just a blowout situation. Oh my god. And then Saturday we've got conference. Saturday night, um, we've got like team dinners and things like that. And then Sunday we're leaving. No, we're not. Are we thinking Sunday or Monday? Sunday. I leave Monday. I leave first. Well, that's because you have to drive.
SPEAKER_02Like a weirdo. It it's only, I think, eight or nine hours for us. This is gonna be a breeze.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, my flight is like four and a half, five.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we're not that far from there.
SPEAKER_00I used my points and got first class. I'm super excited.
SPEAKER_01I got first class too. I did not use my points, but I did it anyway. Fancy bees, I love it. I feel like I need to experience it. What are you? Oh my gosh. This dog is underneath my desk.
SPEAKER_00I can see it.
SPEAKER_01Can you see it? He just literally got out, and I'm like, why are you trying to get under here? He's huge. Mine stays under the desk right here, too.
SPEAKER_02Stills my blanket.
SPEAKER_01That's what he was doing. He was laying under my blanket. Poor baby. Oh, he's not a poor baby. He is a well-loved situation. He's a little baby.
SPEAKER_02Oh my goodness. Well, it's a good thing that we decided before we started this recording that we were only gonna jump on here for about 20 minutes, kind of fill you in, invite you guys over to our TikTok page. Um, please push us out and all of those things. And also invite people to listen to our podcast, please. And we really want call-ins. If you want to be someone that calls in or asks us questions or anything, let us know because we would love to make that happen. You can ask us anything, and we have to answer it. Whether it's truthfully or not, I don't know. Yeah, to be determined, depending on what question you're asked.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say it's gonna 100% depend on the question. Yeah, yeah. I will plead the fifth.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, same.
SPEAKER_01All right, lovs. We actually have to hop off here. We have a training session to get on because that is the life of the stylist advisory board. Yep. And podcasters, and stylists, and moms. We jump from one thing to the other constantly. So, thank you guys so much for being on this crazy ride with us because that's what it is. It's a crazy ride. Let's try. Have a good luck.
SPEAKER_02Later. See ya.
SPEAKER_00Bye.
SPEAKER_02Bye. And that's a wrap on this episode of Hair First. Thanks for hanging out with us. We hope you laughed, learned, and maybe felt a little more safe for all the good hair days and the hot mess ones too.
SPEAKER_00Remember, we're just sharing our own thoughts and experiences. No medical plans or professional advice here. Just real talk from stylists, and moms we get it.
SPEAKER_01Don't forget to follow, subscribe, and share hair first with your fellow beauty lovers and boss moms. We will catch you next time with more stories, laughs, and probably a little conditioner in our hair.
