Scripture warns that before the close of history a false revival will sweep across Christianity—marked by “all power and signs and lying wonders” (2 Thess 2:9; Matt 24:24; Rev 13:13; 16:14). It will appear to be Spirit-filled, electrifying, and will attract multitudes—but it will value spectacle over Scripture, coercion over conscience, and self-exaltation over exaltation of the Lamb (Jesus). Noted author Ellen White said, “...another spirit will make it appear that God’s special blessing is being poured out” (GC 464). But this counterfeit rises before God’s promised true revival...
