This week on T & T Book Haven, we’re talking all about our ever-growing TBR piles and the books we swear we’re going to read soon. From the titles we’re most excited about to the ones that have been sitting on our shelves a little too long, we’re sharing what’s next on our reading lists.

We’re also diving into books that have made the jump from page to screen and discussing our favorite book-to-movie adaptations — plus a few we’re still hoping to see brought to life someday.

I'm Tyra, the first TNT and T. I'm a mom who leads with faith, laughs very easily, and loves every book genre. I'm carrying funny and a total free spirit with a TBR pile that just keeps growing no matter how hard I try to catch up.

And I am Tabitha, T number two, a faith-filled type A mom who loves a good thriller, lives by my list, and still can't resist picking up just one more book, even though my TBR pile is already out of control.

Um, so today we are doing a mini episode.

We're gonna do um books that are in our TBR piles and books that are turning into movies that is also on our TBR piles.

Yes, and upcoming releases too that we're just excited about. So we're just gonna talk all things books. So, books first that are coming out, new releases that we are excited about. Which ones are on our list?

Yes, so we have The Night We Met by Abby Jimenez, which we love her books.

Cannot wait. I didn't realize Tyra literally just told me this that this is uh uh the second book in a series of hers. Um so yeah, very excited because I've already read the first one, so I'm excited to see what the what the story is in the second one. Um we're also excited for The Unknown by Riley Sager. He is uh coming out with that book in August, so another thriller to add to our list, which you know is right up my alley.

And then we also have the third and final book of the Fan Alchemy series that it does not have a title yet. Um it's by Kelly Hart. She had the Quicksilver Broomstone, and the third one is gonna be coming out in October.

Yeah, we'll see. We um are currently we're about to be covering um Quicksilver and Broomstone. They are in our piles um as we speak, so very excited to see how the how the story gets wrapped up there. Um and then the last one that we have is Dear Debbie by Freedom McFadden. That actually already came out, released in 2026. Um, but clearly, yeah, if you've listened to anything by us, you know that we love Freedom McFadden. That is one 100% getting read by us.

Um, so that's the book releases that we're very excited about. However, I do have to say that in 2026 in general, it looks like there are many, many good books coming out.

Yes, I'm super excited because obviously this is four, and I would hope that we would read many, many more than that. Um, but we'll get into why we're only picking out our top four because we uh we have a lot on our TBR piles. We're gonna pick out a couple that we're gonna commit to reading. Um, but yeah, we we're really excited about the few that are coming out. And it's nice because, like we said, Frida's book already came out. We have one coming out in March, um, the one by Abby Jimenez, one in August, and then one in October, so it kind of like spaces it out a little bit, gives us something to look forward to. Um yeah, so as far as books that are becoming movies or shows this year, also very exciting.

Oh, extremely exciting. The one that already came out that I've been hearing people go nuts about already, Wuthering Heights.

Oh my goodness. Emily Bronte, I it's just really sad. I haven't read the book. It's on our TBR pile. Yeah, and it's a classic. I know the story, um, like what it's about, but I've never read the book. And watching all these clips of people watching this movie, and it's like totally wrecking them. Oh, yeah. Um, I cannot wait. People are loving the movie. Yes, cannot, cannot wait. Um, so that one for sure. That one, like Tyra said, it's already come out. So we have Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover. Super excited for that one, and I want to say that comes out in March. Is that right? In just a few days. Yeah, in just a few days. When this episode goes live, it'll be in the next few days that it'll be coming out. So we will 100% be covering that, probably doing similar to what we've done before with a book deep dive and then a Mervy movie versus book episode, um, comparing the two. So very, very excited about another Colleen Hoover that's uh coming to a movie.

And then one that I think that a lot of people are probably excited about is Barody.

Another Colleen Hoover! Um, seriously, that one, I feel like it's been in the making forever. And it doesn't come out until October.

Yeah, I I'm very excited for that one. I think that that is uh they better do it justice, is all I got.

SPEAKER_00

I am very excited. I I hope, hope, hope that it is done well and that because the casting seems like it's pretty good. I'm like, I'm I'm just really hoping that it it uh lives up to the hype of the book because that is one of my one of my favorites for sure. Um I I don't know if we've touched on this in past episodes, but the book to movie stuff, we went and watched The Housemaid Together after reading the book, and we're sitting in the theater and like we're seeing all these previews of these movies that are coming out. We're like, this is gonna be our thing. Like, we have to watch all of these movies, we have to read all of these books and cover it so that we can have those kind of like comparison things. We're just very excited to be able to read the books and watch the movies, not even if we don't do it together, but together, you know. You know what I'm saying?

Constantly thinking about what we need to do for TNT next.

Yes, very, very excited. Um obviously, I think we are we just touched on this in our uh mini with the people we meet on vacation where it was like, we actually kind of thought the movie before the book, but I feel like all of these we're probably gonna do book before the movie. I feel like you have to. That's why with Wuthering Heights, I'm like, oh, I would love to go and watch that right now. But I feel like I have to read the book first.

Yeah, I I I feel like you have to. I it's such a classic too. Yes. And so I honestly am ashamed to say that I've ever read it before.

I know. I and there's a there's a lot, sadly. Maybe that's what we'll do in the future. We'll have like a classic grouping of like we read through all of the I'm thinking literally the only thing that's coming to mind is Moby Dick.

Why do you think that's why is that the only thing that's popping in my brain? Um, no, but to be able to read through all those classics and and give our opinions. So no, we should definitely do that. Um, so yeah, we'll see the upcoming episodes that end up coming from those. We're very excited to be able to have those on the radar. Um I feel like Verity is the one that I'm most worried about that they're gonna mess it up.

I would have to say the same thing, honestly. I think um with Weather and Heights, I've already seen so many people going crazy about the movie, so I feel like the movie is good.

Yeah.

Um, I, you know, people who are loving the cast um understand it. Obviously. Yes. Um, but yeah, I feel like Barody um, I mean, we've both already read the book, and it's an amazing book.

So it's like please don't screw it up. Yeah, it's uh waiting impatiently for that one for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Especially since I've we've known about this movie in the making for so long. Yes. And that it's taken this long, but I also think that, you know, good thing they are taking a long time because they want to make sure it's perfect.

And I hope that's why. I hope it's like editing and redoing and and just making sure that it's perfect. Um, so yeah, we will we will definitely be watching that as soon as it comes out later in October. Absolutely. Very exciting. Um, yeah, anything else on the books to movies that you are I mean, we didn't even touch on it. The I don't know if it has any type of release, but the fourth wing series. The how it's coming to the TV show. Yeah, it's like a net is it coming to Netflix or Amazon? Yeah.

Yeah, and I feel like um there's no really release date from what I've heard, but I've been hearing some very exciting.

So maybe it's like 2027?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like Michael B. Jordan has been commenting on it and saying, like, you know, we're definitely we know that this show or these books mean so much to people, and he was talking about how he's just he really wants to do it justice, and he's going to make sure that he does it justice.

So we may have to wait on that. But characters yet. Well, no, they haven't done any casting or anything, so that makes sense. Of course, it's not coming out this year. So again, we will just wait on that. But that's another one that I cannot, I cannot wait to see, to see what they do.

And Rebecca Yarros, if you're listening, I am so ready for book four. But take your time. I mean, do what you need to do, but also but we are very excited. I I I'm about to do my third reread here.

You're you are gonna be the expert of the that series, that it's like as soon as that book drops, you're gonna be able to pick up all the all the Easter eggs that she drops once again. Um, no, I'm excited to see to see what happens there. Obviously, the that series and the fourth book, we're gonna be waiting until at least next year. Um, but it's just nice to know that there's some of these to kind of fill the fill the void in the meantime, which is very exciting. Um so then as far as our TBR piles, so uh this is very much just scratching the surface. I am embarrassed to say I went and looked at my TBR pile um right before we recorded this, and there's just it's there's a lot.

I opened up my Kindle lap.

You're like, there's a lot. Yes, it's the I obviously I I want I bought all of those. I want to read all of them, but we kind of went through and picked the ones that we are hoping we can knock off the list this year. Um, so we have some obviously that we want to cover together that we're planning on reading, um, and then some that are just on our each individual list. So we're kind of just gonna go over that and pretty much say why why we haven't read them yet, um, what we're most excited for, and uh kind of why we've been, yeah, why we've been avoiding reading them. So uh the ones that are on our book on our list together are yes.

Um so the first one is of course brimstone. Yes. Because we just finished reading Quicksilver, um, and then we are reading Brimstone. We're going into Brimstone to make sure that we can give you guys um episodes for that one. Yes. So that is definitely, definitely on the list.

And that one will for sure get uh read and covered because it's already been scheduled, but it is it's been in our TPR pile. We've had the books since we started. No, not even since we started Quicksilver, since before that. So uh very excited to see what happens with the continuation of the story.

Let's see here. And the next one. Yes, another Rebecca Yarro's book. Um It's letters we leave unfinished, right? Yes. Yes. Um I just went and picked up this physical copy, and I oh, it's so beautiful. I don't know if anyone any of y'all have seen the special edition that has the sprayed edges, and it is just beautiful. Um and I I know I just showed it to you, but I don't know if you even noticed it is signed by Rebecca Yarrows.

It's a signed edition. I'm like, I don't care that I didn't, I was not in her presence to have it signed.

She touched that book, and I'm like, and that's what matters. That's what matters.

Um no, we're very excited about about that one as well. So that is that is on the pile going to be read.

And then the third book that is on the TBR pile for both of us, of course, we have many more than just that, but the third one that we've uh we're are gonna talk about is Praying Like Monks, Living Like Fools.

Very excited for that one. We haven't um we do, I mean, obviously we've trickled in our our faith-based reads here and there as we've come across the ones that we wanted to read. Um, and when we saw this one, if you listen to our episode on Domestic Monastery, obviously that was a huge letdown. And this one seems almost like what we were expecting from that book, and hopefully it will be a really good read. Um, so we're excited to to see yeah, to see what that one uh what that one holds for us. So those are on our joint uh TBR pile. So Tyra, what are the ones that are on just yours individually?

So the ones on mine individually is The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros. Oh I've heard it destroys you.

It's actually it's in my pile as well. I just didn't put it on my list. Yeah, that's another one. Oh, it just I think that's why I haven't started it because I am worried that it's gonna just wreck me.

Oh yes, oh yes, absolutely. I think that's exactly why I didn't start it either. I feel like, um I feel like I have to be careful with when I read it.

Yes, because I think it I think it's gonna it's gonna be a tearjerker. Yes.

Yes. Um, and then the boyfriend by Freedom McFadden. Yes.

Which I know you I have read. It's good.

Yes, and I feel like uh since we've started doing this, I've been getting into more Freedom McFadden books because you kind of introduced me to her. I've converted her.

Freedom McFadden is amazing. How does she do it? None of us know. None of us know. Um, and then the last one I have on my list is Alchemized.

Yes. Um Fantasy.

Yes. I have also heard that this one destroys you.

I've heard good things. I've seen it all over. Yes.

So I'm excited. I'm excited. Kittle actually just did um a sale on Alchemized. It was for$1.99.

Oh wow. Did you pick it up? Yes. Nice! Absolutely. Well, of course it's on your file. Dumb question. Um, so the ones that I have just for for my individual list, um, remarkably bright creatures. That one, I have just heard so many people talking about it. I think it's kind of an odd story, which is why I haven't read it yet.

I I will be honest, I read it kind of looks a little um like childish.

Yes, yes, yes, and it really is pretty. I got the the version that has the sprayed edges, it's very beautiful. Um, but it does, it seems almost childish. And um, I started reading it, I think I think I got like four or five pages in, and I it just didn't hook me, so I was like, uh I'll I'll pick it up later. Um, but I've heard so many good things about it. Um so yeah, I'm I'm hoping that I can no, I'm not hoping. I'm going to pick it back up and I'm going to read it. Um adding it to my file too. Yes, exactly. Um, and then I have mentioned this in previous episodes. Akhtar, a court of thorns and roses. I have to read that this year. You have to. Yes. And it's another one that's just so thick, and I'm like, oh my gosh, it's so daunting. Um but no.

Well it's the first one that's a little smaller.

Oh, jeez. That's even more daunting to know that there's the whole series, and they're all they're all very thick. Um, so no, I that is one that I am going to I am 100% going to read this year. Uh it's been sitting on my pile staring at me for for a long time. Um the other one is another Riley Sager book, the only one left. I've had it in my pile for a long time. Um, and I've never read anything from him, but I've heard really good things, so I'm I'm hoping that I can uh get that one read this year because that's I've got one thriller, which is one fantasy.

We don't uh read a lot of books written by men um other than like our Christian books.

For sure. So we'll see if we end up liking liking his. Um, because like we had the one about yeah. I feel like his don't count because they're romance books. Um but we'll see. We'll see how those go and we'll obviously update if we end up wanting to do episodes on those so that you guys can read along with us. So very, very exciting. So out of those, all of those that we listed, which one are you the most excited for?

Most excited for? I'm gonna say the last letter.

That's a good choice. Good choice. I oh goodness gracious. Oh, it's so hard to choose just one.

I would say I I would say the most excited I'm probably the most excited for the only one left just because it's a thriller and it's an author that I have not read yet. So I'm excited to see if I like it. Um but I will say that Praying Like Monks and Living Like Fools, I'm just excited for that one in general to see if it ends up being good. That's kind of what we expected. Yes, so it'll be interesting. I'm I just I'm I'm excited about all of them. I can't I can't choose one. But I would say if I had to pick just one, the only one left would be my number one, I guess. Um yeah, so I would say as far as our overall TBR pile, what we should do, we should make like a post of at the actual TBR pile. It's embarrassing. Um so quick uh lightning round here of just some some questions. So after everything that we've covered, most anticipated book, maybe we just go over the ones that are coming out, most anticipated book.

Well, and I've heard the same thing. Yeah, I've heard the same thing about remarkably remarkably bright creatures. It seems like such an odd story, but I have heard that it just kind of wrecks people, so I'm like, oh we'll see. We'll see what happens. Um we've already talked about the movie adaptations. I I really hope that Verity gets the justice it deserves. Yeah. Um as far as books that you so out of what we've covered so far, book that you bet that you'll still be talking about in six months.

I really truly think that once you dive into Avatar, you're gonna be obsessed.

I mean, Freedom of Badden books, that's that's a given. I mean Yeah, uh Rebecca Yarrow's books, that's a given too. I really truly think that um I got you hooked on Fourth Wing and we'll always we'll always be talking about that series no matter what. Um I think Avatar is gonna be one where you're just like, oh my gosh. Well, and I'm hoping a book coming up.

Yeah. Well, and I'm hoping for you. Obviously, I don't know anything about it. I don't know what the story is, but I'm wondering if Alchemized is gonna be that for you. Because it's like a whole new story, um, if that's gonna be be the one that just sticks with you. So we'll it'll be interesting to see uh see how that goes. But um let's see. As far as kind of the overall, that's really all that we had to share today. Um, but we would love to know if anything that we've mentioned you guys feel the same if these books are in your TBR piles. Um, if you're excited about the same upcoming movies that that we are. Um of the books that we've mentioned, if you have read them and you think that those should be bumped to the top of our of our list, please let us know.
