School of Shamanism

S1 EP2: Between the visible and the possible

School of Shamanism Season 1 Episode 2

In this episode of Walking in Between the Worlds, Giada shares the story behind the podcast itself and the lived reality that shaped it. From two decades spent inside intense corporate environments to a parallel life rooted in spirituality, creativity and shamanic practice, she reflects on what it truly means to live between worlds, not as a split identity, but as an integrated one. This is a conversation for anyone who feels they’re holding two lives at once: the one that pays the bills and the one that quietly feeds the soul.

Giada speaks candidly about the myth of “one true path” and why so many people remain stuck not because they lack talent or purpose, but because they’ve never been taught to take their other world seriously. We explore how real change begins internally, how belief shifts energy, and why opportunities don’t magically appear but move from the invisible into the visible when we’re ready to see them as possible. She also unpacks the practical side of transformation: energy, nourishment, rest, relationships, and the courage to question habits and commitments that no longer serve who you’re becoming.

Set against the rhythm of the seasons and the natural cycles of change, this episode is a reminder that January isn’t about forcing reinvention, but about clearing space. Letting go. Preparing the ground. If you’re navigating a 9–5 while dreaming of something more, feeling the pull of another life without knowing how it fits, this episode offers a grounded, compassionate perspective: walking between worlds isn’t a failure or a flaw, it’s a gift, and it might be exactly where your journey begins.

About the Host

Originally hailing from the vibrant city of Milan, I’ve spent the past two decades traversing the globe in a quest for spiritual and personal growth and combined with 25 years of international corporate work experience. From navigating the vast landscapes of Australia in a campervan to finding tranquility living in a Buddhist monastery in Nepal, my journey is nothing short of extraordinary. Along the way, I’ve delved deep into Buddhist teachings, yoga, and shamanism, becoming Shamanic Teacher,  Forest Therapy Guide, Esoteric Numerologist, Shamanic and Integral Yoga Teacher and Ikigai Coach. In 2013 I settled in Edinburgh, where  I founded the Art and Spirituality Centre, a social enterprise and the School of Shamanism, where I passionately help others on their own transformative journeys.

Giada:

When you change perspective you realize that the world you dream of can coexist with the one that you are currently living in Hello, I'm Giada from School of Shamanism and welcome to my podcast, Walking in Between the Worlds. So, why did I call my podcast in this way? First of all, because my shamanic name is Dancer Between the Worlds and the two worlds, of course, the visible and invisible worlds. But this title is also open to a much broader interpretation. For me, walking between worlds also represents my life experience. For more than 20 years, I worked in corporate environments, often very intense ones. And alongside that, whenever I had what people call free time, though it didn't really feel free, I was studying spirituality, creativity, meditation. I was running workshops, organizing international events, and then I eventually included shamanism in my path. So walking between worlds meant living a very busy professional life inside organizations and at the same time leaving my true self outside of work hours. One world was structured, demanding, uh corporate. The other world was spiritual, creative, intuitive, and deeply aligned with who I am. And this characteristic is still part of me today. Nowadays I run a school of shamanism and art spirituality, my social enterprise based in Edinburgh, which is a non-for-profit, and where there is also a corporate will being branch, Zen Corporate. So even now I'm still walking between worlds. But I wouldn't say that I am split anymore. It's simply who I am: a whole person made of many parts, wearing different hats. And this podcast is especially for people who work in a so-called 9-to-5 job. And let's be honest for a moment. When I was working incorporate, I was dreaming of a 9-to-5 job. Because my reality was entering the office at 9 in the morning and leaving around midnight. So technically, that was a midnight job or a 9 to midnight job. And the rest was almost what people are, the rest was what people are considered part-time. So to all the people who complain about having a life after 5, I would gently invite you to reconsider how lucky you actually are. Not everyone that has that privilege. And today I still walk between walls. But not as a division, it's an integration, it's a representation of a more complete version of myself. And this is what I would love to share, of course, with you. This journey. And to those of you that feel stuck in this 9 to 5 job but dream of doing something else, of following your own mission, your purpose, what the Japanese call ikigai, which is also something that I help people find through my one-to-work, one-to-one work. I want to invite you to shift your perspective. Because being between two worlds doesn't mean being divided. It doesn't have to be a battle or a fight. When you change perspective, you realize that the world you dream of can coexist with the one that you are currently living in. And it's it's of course it's a challenge, but the challenge the real challenge is that most people don't actually know what their the their other world is. Many people are unaware of what they are good at, what they truly love, what their skills are, or how those skills could eventually support them financially. They might attend courses, study something new, run a workshop occasionally or explore a passion, but they still label it as just a hobby or just a project. And the first real shift is actually start considering that other activity, even if it's only one hour per month, as a potential future reality. Because the real change starts, first of all, inside yourself. And the moment you truly believe that something is possible, your internal state changes, your energy changes, your vibration changes. And that's exactly when external conditions begin to respond and mirror back your inner change. And opportunities don't come from nowhere, they materialize when you are ready to see them as possible. They move from the invisible world into the visible one when your belief is strong enough or when the conditions are right. And so the first step for anyone walking between two worlds is an inner shift. Understanding that the reality that you are currently living is not the only reality, it's not the whole story. The life you dream of is also real. It just hasn't materialized, it hasn't manifested yet. But after that, of course, you need the energy to materialize it. And energy comes in many forms. It's not just motivation, it's physical energy in your body. It's what you eat, what you drink, how much you move, it's the quality of your sleep, it's the activities that you choose. And very importantly, it's the people you surround yourself with. So ask yourself when I interact with this person, is this an evolutionary relationship? From a soul perspective, of course. Or is it something that I keep only because of habit, obligation, or social expectation? And even though it gives me nothings and takes my energy away, but I'm still having that. And so the same applies to activities. Maybe you have always done something because your family chose it for you when you were a child, or because we have always done it. If it's no longer brings you passion, joy and or expansion, then it's time to question it. It's time to quit it. Especially now. We are at the beginning of the year, we are in January 2026, and according, of course, to the Chinese calendar, when it comes in mid-February, it will be the years of the horse about which everyone is speaking now, that we really need a big change, a quick transformation. But we are still now in a month of cutting, a year of conclusion, a time of cleansing. And this is not yet the time of full expansion. That will come in spring. So that's why the idea of the new year, new me starting on the 1st of January often doesn't work because January is still winter. It's a time of introspection, it's slowing down, it's clearing out. Nature is still resting, it's still a dark time, a sleeping time. And so instead of forcing new habits right now because it feels good starting them in January, what you can do is create space. So start cleansing, start changing your inner attitude, start letting go of what no longer works. Because if your life is already full of people, of habits, of activities, commitments that drain you, there is no room for anything new to enter. Just go back over your last year, your 2025. Ask yourself what worked, what didn't, and write down what didn't work and cut it without hesitation. Because if your energy is not moving in the direction you want to go, it will only become harder later. So start preparing the ground, start cultivating your dreams and start accepting that walking between worlds is not a problem. It's a gift. And until you are free, the two worlds can be sisters, supporting each other. If you change your perspective, that's the most important conditions. And that's where the journey truly begins.
