Dragnet – The Thank You

Sergeant Joe Friday and Ben Romero are dispatched to the quiet Wilmington home of Mrs. Laura Mueller — the woman who spent eleven years fighting to set Annie Johnson free. What they find is a web of calculated deception. Mrs. Mueller has vanished. Her husband has been committed to a state hospital. And Annie Johnson has quietly positioned herself to inherit everything: the house, bonds worth $1,500, and $12,000 in life insurance — all with beneficiary designations recently changed in her favour.

As detectives close in, Annie's composure begins to crack. She invents stories about sanitariums that don't exist, forges signatures to stay under the radar, and attempts to charm her way past Sergeant Friday's methodical questioning. But the evidence tells a different story.
