In this episode I sit down with Danielle, a fellow Swifite, and talk about everything we love about Taylor Swift. From favorite albums and iconic eras to the lyrics that absolutely wrecked us, nothing is off-limits.

We swap stories, debate our top songs (respectfully… kind of), and relive the moments that made us lifelong Swifties. Expect passionate opinions, a little chaos, and a lot of appreciation for the artist who somehow always knows exactly how we feel.

If you’ve ever said “this song was written about me,” you’re going to feel right at home here.

SPEAKER_01

Hello and welcome back to another episode of I've Got Something to Say. I'm your host, Courtney, and my co-host is for reaching out already.

unknown

You didn't tell me.

SPEAKER_01

I I started it. You didn't tell me you were recording. So today I am joined with one of the world's. I will literally argue that this is one of the world's biggest Swifties that have Ezer has ever existed. Danielle. Danielle came into my life because she forced my sister to be friends with her. And so she's just been a part of my life ever since. And we especially bonded over Taylor Swift. So that is what we are going to be discussing today. However, before we get into our topic, let's talk about our current obsessions. Danielle, what is your current obsession?

SPEAKER_00

Your wife's looking at me and I can't focus. You can do this. Okay. So my current obsession today would be Love on the Spectrum because new episodes dropped.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I would also agree with that. Me and Kristen are watching. I did see a spoiler on TikTok. I'm a little bit upset about, but that's okay. That's okay.

SPEAKER_00

It's hard to avoid.

SPEAKER_01

It is. It is. I do also love who's your favorite though? Connor. Literally same. When he was like doing that whole thing with his mom and the knife, and he was like, Go get her. Go get her. And she's like, You're a smart ass. I just finished the London episode. Okay. They were getting ready to leave for London. Okay. So that's where I'm at currently.

SPEAKER_00

It's a good episode. I like the newbies.

SPEAKER_01

I do like the newbies too. They're really funny. Yes. I I do, I do love them. My current obsession today is The Housemaid. We just finished watching before you got over here. I haven't seen it. Did you read the book? No. Okay. So my sister wanted me to read the book. She said, it's literally so good. That doesn't shock me. Could not get into it.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I've heard it's great.

SPEAKER_01

But like I also didn't know the premise of the book. I like obviously like a insinuated. Like I also, like, okay, I assumed that like the housemaid that was hired and eventually hooks up with like the husband of the house. Like that's just kind of like I was like, okay, that's totally the vibe. Damn, that was so fucking good. Like it was I've heard it was good. It was a little like it's kind of it's just it's like a thriller, but not like it's not scary by any means, but it's like a psychological thriller. So like you're kind of like trying to figure out who like the evil person is. Okay. And like you don't know. I like Amanda Seifrid. I love her. She was so good. Kristen just told me that she has a belly button ring. I wouldn't have guessed that actually. Yeah, no, she like talked about in an interview recently that she's always had a belly button ring, and the only time she's ever taken it out since she was 15 was when she was pregnant. Oh, yeah, I love her. I loved her on Mamma Mia. Me too. That movie, I can't I can't watch the second one. I have like a whole emotional. No, I have an emotional tie to it. Can't tell you what it is.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, it is good, but it's not my favorite.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so the reason why I can't watch the second one is because it makes me cry too much. Because when I watched Mamma Mia growing up, or the mom that's played by Merrill Streep, reminds me of my nanny, which is my dad's mom. And she passed away because she had long, blonde, like kind of wavy hair. Okay, very hippie. And so like it really reminded me of her. Well, then the second movie is all about how she's dead, and like the main like significant like things that like tie her in, like her younger self, because it's like all about her younger version or whatever. She's wearing a butterfly necklace, and then like in the final scene, I'm literally getting goosebumps. Oh gosh. In the final scene, when Amanda Seyfred is singing to her dead mother, she's wearing a butterfly dress. I literally have a butterfly tattoo on my body for my name. Aww, so that's sweet though. The first time I watched it by myself, by myself in the movie theater, I was uncontrollably sobbing, like literally loudly sobbing. And I had to like run out of the theater because I was so embarrassed because I was crying so hard. It's okay. I cried all the time. Same, same.

SPEAKER_00

I'm behind on all that because I just late binged Bridgerton. Okay, I have not watched Bridgerton. Okay, well, someone told me to watch it finally, and I didn't. I loved it, but I was mad after season one because no one told me about the Duke not returning. Spoiler alert.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he didn't come back. Yeah, no one warned me about that. Yeah, that was really sad when that news broke. Because I did watch like the first, second, and I think the third season. Yeah, I'm obsessed with that. And then I stopped watching because I was like, I just can't get into it anymore.

SPEAKER_00

I enjoyed it, but yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No season's as good as that one.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, the first one is definitely the best.

unknown

The best.

SPEAKER_01

The best. Okay, I don't want to spend too much time on our current obsessions because one thing about me and Danielle is that we could talk about Taylor Swift all day. Literally until we were blue in the face. So we're gonna jump right in. I dream. Have a little intro. Taylor Allison Swift was born on December 13th, 1989. She is an American singer, songwriter, and influential pop culture figure, known for her auto-biographical lyrics. I don't know why that word was smaller for me. And artistic reinventions. She is the highest-grossing live music artist and is and one of the best selling music artists of all time. All time. All time. Ever. Okay. The first question that I have for you. Oh god. Okay. Do you remember the very first time you listened to Taylor? Yes, 100%. Okay, tell us about it.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, it's gonna show my age. Okay. But this is why I'm gonna I'm what they call a senior Swifty. Yes. We are the cool ones. Yes. Not the annoying new age ones. New age ones that need them to get it. Came out. The Eros Tor. The Eros Tor, yeah, they don't get it. Okay. And all the folklore evermore people that don't understand. Right. Taylor Pree that. Okay, anyway. I was junior or senior in high school. I'm pretty sure on a school bus on a way to a varsity football game. Because I cheered and Tim McGraw played. And you said And I said, Damn. I love Tim McGraw.

SPEAKER_01

So that's it made me and it made me listen to it. So that's what that's what sold you was the fact that you loved Tim McGraw. Tim McGraw, another artist. Yes. And she sang about Tim McGraw, and you said, okay, now I'm obsessed with her.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Then I want to say, and I hope I'm not wrong, because this would be embarrassing, but you didn't let me research this. Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm pretty sure after that, what was her second single? Should have said no. Because then that was just, or it was I don't remember her second single.

SPEAKER_01

Debut's singles were Tim McGraw, Teardrops on My Guitar, Our Song, Picture to Burn, and should have said no. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

It did not tell me what order that they came out. Okay. Well, I just remember that is also engraved in my head. Just screaming it senior in high school. Should have said no. Yes. Were you cheated on?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Okay. Okay. See, me, yes. I remember I probably came in. Okay, I knew who Taylor Swift was. Okay. And again, I am not like incredibly younger than you, but like I there is an age gap. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm the same age as Taylor, Allison Swift, a little older. Okay, so I was born in 95. Yeah, I was born in 88.

SPEAKER_01

I remember like in middle school. I remember her being an artist or whatever. And I thought she had really pretty hair. Beautiful girls. I have a thing with blondes.

unknown

She was so cute.

SPEAKER_01

But it wasn't it wasn't until like Speak Now when I the the first time I listened to Last Kiss. Okay. Girl, I've never had my heart broken at that point. I had never first song you remember listening to? Because I wept. I said, Oh my oh my god, uh, all of those guys that burned me that don't actually exist. I'm so mad at them. That's so funny. I was so like distraught over these. Like I would like make up love scenarios in my head.

SPEAKER_00

You would hate me for this. Last Kiss is not one of my top songs from Speak Now.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, really? No, it's not.

SPEAKER_00

But Speak Now is one of my all-time favorite albums ever.

SPEAKER_01

Really? Yes. Interesting. Yeah, no, Last Kiss like was like ingrained in my mind. It's a great song. Don't get me wrong. It is. And it's really monumental to the developing brain of a 100% 14-year-old girl.

SPEAKER_00

Just like everybody says, and it's true.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like I every stage of life, I hit the same time as she does.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like I also always cry to never grow up.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I can't even I can barely barely listen to that after I had the kids.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay. It really got bad when my sister had the best girl.

SPEAKER_00

Quinny.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because I was like, oh my god. And just really quick, I need to rewind for the intro. You need to make sure you say I'm Rebecca's best friend, not just a friend. You are Rebecca's best friend. You didn't say that though. You said I forced her to be friends. Best friends.

SPEAKER_01

You you forced her to be best friends. Best friends, thank you. Best friends. And now you're just a part of the family. And you literally She listens to Taylor now, though. She does. Yeah. And you also now come to our Thanksgiving. Yep. So that's amazing. Yeah.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So that would answer my second part was like, what is your earliest memory? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

High school, senior year.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's that's wild. Okay. So I have some really these are gonna give me goosebumps.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

These are stuck it on the spot stuff because I No, no, no.

SPEAKER_01

Fine, it's not a question. It's not a question. Oh I'm I'm going to read her record-breaking facts. Oh, okay. She is one of the only artists to win album of the year four times. Four times. Do you know what albums?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, of course I do. I know which ones not that she should have.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, well, what albums did she?

SPEAKER_00

What are the four? Fearless. Yes. 1989. Yes. Folklore. Yes. Midnights.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. You're amazing. Should have been towards your post support rent. Oh my gosh. I agree. That was the best album. Yeah. Not my top, but it's deserved album of the year. Yes. She has a total of 14 Grammys. Oh god. Yes. Never.

SPEAKER_00

I know what she's never won. And we're going to get it this year. What is it? Song of the Year. Oh. She's never won it. Never in her entire career has she won Song of the Year. That's very interesting. And I did not know that. Fact-check me, but I'm pretty sure and I think we're going to take it home with Fate of Ophelia. Really? She's never won it. Can we fact-check it? Yes, I will. I think that's the grammy. She's never won a song of the year.

SPEAKER_01

No, she has not. You were right. Once again, Danielle knows the fact.

SPEAKER_00

I know it all.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I think we're gonna take it home. I I we got a good contender. I I there are definitely other songs that should have won it.

unknown

Yes, 100%.

SPEAKER_01

She holds the record for the most number one albums by a female artist in history. She is the most streamed artist in a single day on Spotify. As of March 2026, Taylor has won over 700 awards from more than 1,200 nominations. 700? 700.

SPEAKER_00

Should have been 701 for album of the year for Compose Department.

SPEAKER_01

She is the most awarded artist in AMA history with a total of 40 awards. Is that the one that just per that we just watched? American Music Awards. No, that was IHAR Radio. Oh my god, her and Travis, okay. Right?

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

She holds the record for the most video of the year wins with five awards, but a total of 30 AMAs. No, I think that was supposed to be VMAs. Sorry. Sorry. VMAs. Okay, okay. Yeah. I could see that. She has 49 Billboard Music Awards. She is also the most awarded artist in iHeart Radio history with a total of 41 awards. Awards.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know what's crazy? Yeah. It's some of her best songs she's never put out on the radio. And that's how successful she is.

SPEAKER_01

What do you mean? Oh, like like you mean the ones that weren't singles.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Or some of the ones that, you know, in my opinion, some of her best songs ever.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, I totally agree. I totally agree. Because like I feel like people that like complain like her music is so like mainstream and like annoying. It's for she's trying to make money. Yes. She's trying to make her career. Her discography is unmatched.

SPEAKER_00

Unmatched. It's I'm waiting for millennial punk emo album.

SPEAKER_01

Her lyrics literally she has some of the saddest, saddest lyrics. Saddest. That hit home. Unfortunately. Yep. Okay, now this one is this one is going to be probably where we are going to disagree on those. Okay. We're going to go over our top albums. Okay. What is your number one top album?

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god. This is very special.

SPEAKER_01

Actually, actually, let's go backwards. Yeah, let's go backwards.

SPEAKER_00

I wrote my list out five times. And I just kind of went with the ones that I don't know. It is what it is. Okay. What is your number 12? Davio. Really? Easy for me. I just went with it. So it was easy. It's her first album, her worst album she's made because it's her first one. I love it. I don't know. It has like a soft spot. Well, of course, but it's fine.

SPEAKER_01

Mine was Fearless. No, that's my next.

SPEAKER_00

But I love Fearless, actually. I love Fearless.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. What's your number 11?

SPEAKER_00

Fearless.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, right, right, right. You just I feel like you're gonna be really mad at me for this. No. Red.

unknown

What?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

For 11? Yeah. That's disappointing. I know. I could see that though, especially because your age when the album came out. I think sometimes people's rankings and opinions is depending on where you were at in your life of when that album dropped.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So I could see that. And I put like, okay, I went off of like OG. I did not go off of like Taylor's version because read Taylor's version when that came out, came out at a very monumental time for me. I was literally so heartbroken. And you didn't like the album? No, I did, but just doesn't rank up there. Yes, because there were other albums that I get it. Came out at like the perfect time.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. I agree. And I did not go off of Taylor's version either. Okay. I support Taylor's version. Don't get me wrong. No, same. But no, I base it off. I love listening to Baby Taylor's voice again.

SPEAKER_01

Same. I think that's why I like debut. Yep. Um actually you're gonna be really mad at me.

SPEAKER_00

You might get mad at me for this number. Okay, what's your number 10? I went, okay. When I couldn't decide, I went off of how many songs I liked the least per album. Oh my god. I hate to say this because sometimes I love this album. Lover.

SPEAKER_01

I know. Yeah, but like that was when I think she was gaslighting herself to be in love with Joe.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. We will have to talk about that because I knew we knew when they broke up. Okay. But yeah, I love the album and I love me. I hate everyone that hated on me. It's a bop. Oh no, I hate that song. I love the song. Oh well, I love it. If it was on a piano, everybody would have loved it. Yes, I don't like Brendan Uri though. That makes sense. But it's a good song. She was so excited, and the fandom hated her for it.

SPEAKER_01

She was excited, and I can recognize that. And I can recognize that the lyrics are good. Yeah. But Brendan Uri ruined it for me. I get that.

SPEAKER_00

I cannot stand him. After glow is probably my favorite song on that album.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh. Yeah. Or Daylight.

SPEAKER_00

Damn it. Good call.

unknown

Shit.

SPEAKER_01

You're scared, Stella. Sorry.

SPEAKER_00

It's okay. Okay. What's your 10?

SPEAKER_01

My number 10 is speak now.

SPEAKER_00

That is upsetting. I know. That is that album's like it came out.

SPEAKER_01

Like, that was like the first album that I really remembered, like when it came out. But I don't okay. I I will be a hundred percent honest. I was a closet swifty for a while. Okay. So like like I tried to not like her. Oh, that's upsetting. Because it was like not the cool. I get it. I get it. You were younger. Especially because I was in high school when she was getting the most amount of correct. So I was like, I don't like her, but then I was like secretly listening to the songs by myself. Oh my god. I can't believe you put speak now for that.

SPEAKER_00

That's that's that album hits for me.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. What's your number nine?

SPEAKER_00

Red.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I put it there. I love it though. I hate it. I this gets hard because I love I do love red. Red is was slept on back then too.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I put debut.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I could see.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, they need to be like not like at the very end, but like more towards the middle. Now I feel about it. But there's so many good albums that like the middle kind of like came towards the end. Okay. I get it. Number eight.

SPEAKER_00

This is gonna shock you. Before the vault tracks, 1989. Okay, I can see that. Yeah, I can see that. Love it though. I mean some bangers.

SPEAKER_01

So like the next three are pretty inner interchangeable for me. But I put at number eight, life of a showgirl.

SPEAKER_00

Get out of here. I don't want to talk to you about that.

SPEAKER_01

Just because I don't know if I've like like I love it. I loved it from the get-go. Like the first listen, I said, no, I like that. Yeah. And a lot of people did not. Yeah. Losers. The more that I listen to it, the more that I like it because I feel like let a girl be fucking happy. She's so happy. And I love it.

SPEAKER_00

I love the album. We could talk about that when we get to my ranking of Showgirl.

SPEAKER_01

Number seven. What do you have? Speak now. Okay. Yep. I have a lover. Okay. Oh, look at those like the swap. So, like lover, I I listened to at the beginning of me and Kristen's relationship.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, so it has a special meaning. Yes. I get you.

SPEAKER_01

Because we we walked back in to our reception after we got married to paper rings.

SPEAKER_00

That's a banger. I used like we literally I got two lover songs of surprise songs. Like I wrote my surprise songs down. So I could make sure. I wrote down all my surprise songs I got over my Airstore journey because I figured we'd talk about it for a quick three minutes. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

I I did I do have a question about your concert experience. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

But that's good. I just speak now as yeah. And when she in the middle, it's like hard. Like they're put out those lyrics about you. She's not a saint. No, she's not what you think. She's an actress. Oh she's better known for the things she does on the mattress. Was iconic. Literally. It was iconic back then.

SPEAKER_01

And I was the same age as her. So I was like, I also am sad that she changed it. Oh, yeah. It was so stupid.

SPEAKER_00

I get it, but like you have like no haunted means anyway. Speak now for me. Yep. Okay. You're gonna mine five and six for me are the same exact. I will not argue with anybody about it. One is not better than the other. It's Folklore Nevermore. Sorry, they're the same to me. I love them both equally just as much. I love different songs on different albums, actually, but I love the albums equally.

SPEAKER_01

I semi-agree. Okay. My number six, though, was 1989. Okay. And then my number five was Midnight. Oh my god, I can't even talk to you. I know. Midnight? I know. I know Courtney.

SPEAKER_00

I know. It's so good. You know that's like my top album.

SPEAKER_01

No, literally, literally, and everything from like seven and up is just like hard. No, I get it. I get it.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Number four. This is hard for me because this has changed since she's had the amazing album drop she's had in the last four years. Okay. And I was a fan till I die. I was at the concert. Reputation. I have reputation as four, too. Yeah, it's okay. Oh my god, I feel so really we agree on one. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Okay. Number three. For me.

SPEAKER_00

Life of a showgirl.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Oh, that makes me curious on what your number one is. Oh, it was tough. Okay, so my number, my number three is Evermore.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. What's your favorite song on Evermore?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I I'll be honest. I have to look at the set list to know which is what. Because they're they're like the same, like the same vibe or whatever. No, they're the same vibe. Because I have very specific songs that I like from from, you know.

SPEAKER_00

I agree. I mean, I'm not gonna lie, I could take my favorite from each album and put it on one album.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. Yes. And you have to look at the deluxe version always. Always. Always. Oh, tolerate it. So good.

SPEAKER_00

So good. But also right where you left me. It's one of the best deluxe songs, besides New Romantics. I love New Romantics. Besides New Romantics. Okay, sorry. Okay, so what's your number two? Listen to me. Number one and number two are very hard for me. Okay. But for her, the albums, because I just listened to this one front to back. I have number two, and this kills me to say it, midnights. And that is that I'm a midnight's girl. Maroon is still my ringtone since October of 2021 when it was released.

SPEAKER_01

And you you missed Maroon. By one night. My number two is Torture Poets Department. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I respect it.

SPEAKER_01

Because I had, I had to put folklore as number one. Number one. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

One would be torture post department.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the the top three for me are are really fucking hard because those those you can inject those into my vein and they will literally bring me back to life. If I ever die and you don't want me to die, literally just put those songs on and I will revive. Like Max from Stranger 3.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if it's still just on Torture Poets. Some of those songs just get my they like itch something in me. Down bad. Down bad. Now I'm down bad. Bad crying at the gym. I mean, it's just such a banger. Should have been a single for another another segment.

SPEAKER_01

I'm trying to trying to think if that's the one I picked.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, we'll get to it in a second. Sorry. But yeah. Yeah. Anything she doesn't have a bad album. I don't care what Taylor Swift fan says. She does not have a bad album.

SPEAKER_01

I don't ever think that even there because there's definitely like I can I can she has an album for every single move. Okay. Okay though. Okay. I am quite literally petrified. Petrified. What? For her 13th album.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I'm not. I can't wait. I no, I but I don't want it anytime soon. Do you see people need to stop rushing it for me?

SPEAKER_01

No, I don't want it anytime soon, but I think it will quite literally end me.

SPEAKER_00

You do? Yes. Why? In a good way? What kind of vibe do you think? Oh, in a good way. Okay, okay. She's gonna be married. I can't I won't be able to listen to when she actually has kids and writes those songs because I already tear up when she like sings about perspectives. Like, don't even get me started about Robin.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Breaks me. It's not, I mean, but yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. This was not like a segment that I had planned. Okay. But imagine you had a G-U N to your head. Oh my god. And you had to get rid of one song forever. Forever. Like literally never existed. What would it be?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, this is gonna piss a lot of people off. That I would be fine never listening to. Yeah. Shake it off. Yeah. That would be fine for me to never hear again. I heard it so much when it was on the radio. They overplayed it. It's a banger, don't get me wrong, but I'd be fine.

SPEAKER_01

Honestly, okay. This I okay. Mine would probably be, I don't know. I think me. Oh my god, what? Because I don't I don't love it.

SPEAKER_00

I was gonna say that or mean. I mean, mean, but you can't do that. Mean just has too much iconicness to it.

SPEAKER_01

I agree. I agree. Yeah. What's her freaking name? Joey King's Bowl Cut.

SPEAKER_02

Everybody.

SPEAKER_01

It's iconic. And no, but one song that I will always skip is Ronin. Oh god, because I can barely listen to it.

SPEAKER_00

I weep. Beautiful. It is. It is. That whole story is amazing. She still kept up with her.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, she's still I was getting so mad though that like when she was on the Ares tour, like everybody was like, especially when she was like at the hometown of like wherever they were like, she needs to play Ronan and she needs a rape play Ronan. I said, absolutely not.

SPEAKER_00

No, and she went to London and she got to. Did you know that? I do not. Ronin's. No, I feel bad that I forget her first name. She was in London, and then she got to sit with Florence from Florence of the Machines. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, Florida.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god. I missed it by one night too. I don't want to talk about it. But yeah, she got to go. So she was at the Air Store in London. Well, because she was also in, I want to say like Pennsylvania. She was. I don't even know. But yeah, it's I it's that was a beautiful thing.

SPEAKER_01

But she definitely at no point, I think will there is never going to be a time that I think that it is appropriate for her to sing that live anymore.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know where she'll what song she'll never sing live? As soon as you'll get better. Oh, I'm literally going boos bumps. I can't listen to it. Oh, it's beautiful, but wowzers. No. Yeah. Absolutely not. Yeah. Nope. It's beautiful, but heartbreaking.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, those, yeah, those two, yeah. No. Can't can't. That's too emotional. They were bad. They're sad. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if Travis has ever listened to those. Oh, I'm sure.

SPEAKER_01

I do you?

SPEAKER_00

The fact that he was a Swifty before they were. Yeah, but 1989. Only 1989 he really did. But I know he has not heard some of her bangers. Maybe by now he has. Maybe by now he has listened to outside of the Aerostore. Right. Setless.

SPEAKER_01

Right. That's true. Yeah. Talking about people pushing her to sing Ronan is going to bring me to my next question that I feel is very important. Okay. Now, we know that Swifties can sometimes take it overboard. And there are a lot of lines that are blurred or just downright crossed. Okay. How do you feel about the parasocial relationship that people have with Taylor Swift?

SPEAKER_00

I think it is really bad for Taylor Swift fans because back in the day, and if I was more active, I swear on this day I would have met Taylor Swift. If I was active, she was, I would have. Right. And that's what I'm saying. But she was, she was for a very long time interacting on Tumblr, Twitter. I mean, I think that creative people of false hope. She got too big. She's not doing that. I mean, she's just safety. I mean, the secret sessions, I mean, amazing that she ever did that. But I no, I think it's the young artists or the young, I'm sorry, the young fans. They just have these expectations of her that are completely unrealistic.

SPEAKER_01

I agree. I do think that in today's world, with the way that social media is, it causes people's parasocial relationships to constantly cross the line. 100%. And forget that these people are literal human beings.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, and she probably, it's probably not even her posting on her Instagram.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Right. And and I feel like you would agree with me on this, is like you can be the biggest diehard fan for somebody and still respect their space. 100%. Like I know that we've had conversations about like people like wanting to know more about the wedding. And like, yeah, as much as I love their love story, and as much as I love Tavis, I do feel like it is quite literally none of my business.

SPEAKER_00

None of my business. I don't want to know about it until they tell me. Right. Don't ruin it for him. She deserves it just like everybody.

SPEAKER_01

But there have been so many things that have been ruined for her.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I won't even read about it. Like I could care less where it's happening when it's happening. I know it's happening. I want to know about it when just like the engagement. Right. It made me so happy that I found out when she posted.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I would have been so mad if we found out. So pissed.

SPEAKER_00

So pissed. So I just hope I just hope we find out after it happens. I agree. Unless she wants it to be known beforehand. I mean, listen, I would watch it live if they let me.

SPEAKER_01

I would literally watch it like I watched the royal wedding. 100%. If I had to get up at 4 a.m. again to watch the royal wedding, I would do it. Yeah, this is our royal wedding. Yes. So I just did a deep deep dive not too long ago because I did an episode on Princess Diana. And then I also just watched the John F. Kennedy Jr. and oh, what the fuck is her name? Caroline something, their love story, which I knew that JFK, this is so off topic. Just stick with me because there's a point to my my theory. I knew that JFK had kids, but like I forgot that the fact that they grew up. Okay. Okay. So what I didn't know was that around the same time that Princess Diana was killed was also the same time that JFK Jr.'s and his wife love story like took off and like everybody was like obsessed with it.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And it was like the American royal family because of who his dad was. Okay. And the paparazzi followed them. So like she like in in the show, they were like showing how like she watched on live television them announce Princess Diana's death. Death, okay. Essentially, because of paparazzi. I beg to differ. I think it was the royal family.

SPEAKER_00

It was the royal family that hired and killed her.

SPEAKER_01

But besides the point, like, so she's watching this because of the paparazzi not leaving them alone, and then she can't even walk out her door because the paparazzi are stalking her. And they're literally calling her the American people's princess. Right. So, like, that's terrifying. Yep. I will say that I do believe that paparazzi has somewhat gotten better over time, but now there aren't just like the hired paparazzi. Now you have your regular Joe Schmok on the street that don't respect people's privacy.

SPEAKER_00

I do think the paparazzi's better. I remember growing up in the early 2000s watching Britt, Lindsay, Paris. I mean, it was wild back then.

SPEAKER_01

They had to go out with like sunglasses on and like umbrellas and stuff and like they got no privacy.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean, remember when Taylor was in a suitcase and they wheeled her ass out. Right. Because it was bad for her for a bit. Yeah, right. No, but now you just have crazy people who just think and I think that's worse. People always say that I would be like that, but I wouldn't be. I I never think people say that. Like you guys are so annoying. I would be annoying to get to her, but if I was anywhere near her, I wouldn't.

SPEAKER_01

You would literally, literally become friends with anybody. Anyone. You'd be like, hey, do you know this person? Do you know this person? Do you know this person? But I feel like you like if you were brought into a room with Taylor Swift, I think that you would be so like you calm, so cool, calm, and collected until the moment that you walked out those doors, you would have an absolute. I appreciate that. I appreciate that.

SPEAKER_00

Because like I'd want her to know how much her music means to me for sure. But I would not go, I would not freak out. She wouldn't know how crazy I am.

SPEAKER_01

So the one time in my life that I was ever faced with a famous person who I thought who did, I don't want to say I thought, who did change my life was Hillary Burton, who played Peyton Sawyer on One Tree Hill on Tree Hill. And I was 19, okay, frontal lobe not developed. I drive down to North Carolina with my best friend at the time, Rihanna, and we went to a One Tree Hill convention, and I paid for a photo with Hillary and an autograph with Hillary. Stop. And I okay, first of all, for some reason, we convinced ourselves we needed to get a spray tan before we went. We looked like fucking Oompa Wompas. The picture is on Facebook, and it's so embarrassing. But when I got my autograph from her and she hugged me, I literally word vomited. You did into her ear. And then she grabbed me like by my shoulders, looked me dead in the eyeballs, and said, Thank you for saying that. That's why I do what I do.

SPEAKER_00

Changed my fucking life. Is that when you like really knew you were gay?

SPEAKER_01

No, what's so funny is I was not out at that time. But I met a lesbian while we were there, and I said, Wait, why do I have these feelings?

unknown

That's funny.

SPEAKER_01

No, she was never really like a girl crush for me because I just like felt like I was her. I get that. Unmisunderstood.

SPEAKER_00

The most famous person I've met, I think, quickly thinking, would be the one and only Snucky. Oh my god. And it was in the cheerful version. And yes, I went up to her. There was no shame. It was COVID. Everyone had masks on. She was, and I just I politely asked her, and we took a couple pictures, and I left. That's probably the most famous person I've met.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, I mean, that was the only, I think the only famous person I've ever met. I also was standing in line, like awkwardly, waiting for my autograph from Hillary Burton. And Chad Michael Murray is like two people down, and he and nobody was at his stand at that time. And I look over because like obviously I'm looking at Chad Chad Michael Murray, and he looked at me, he goes, Hey, how's your day? I said, Stop it. I'm gonna shit my pants. I'm gonna shit my literal fucking pants. He's hot. I yeah, I mean, he's a good looking guy, but like I low-key hate Lucas' character in Wintry Hill. But that's a whole other day to talk about Wintry Hill. We need a focus. Let's go back. Actually, you don't have to go back anywhere. I'm flipping my notes back to my first page. Okay. Because now we're gonna go on to our next area of argument. The top five songs that changed your life. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

This was hard, and it's just yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Honestly, I think that you okay. I I will say that I low key kind of cheated because I have three honorable mentions. Two, three, four, five.

SPEAKER_00

I have six. And this was like, I just thought about I don't know. I feel like this could change on my mood any day.

SPEAKER_01

No, a hundred percent.

SPEAKER_00

So okay, you go first.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I'll I'll start with my honorable mentions.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Because you have six. I'll just I'll just say all three of my honorable mentions. You have that many? Eight? I I could keep going. Okay, fine. Okay, tolerate it. Okay. And that's one of my one of my favorite songs, and it really did so good to me. Ruin the friendship. It's so good.

SPEAKER_00

I literally it scratches. It scratches when she hits at the end of the song when she hits that chorus, Ruin the French. Oh my god, itches my brain.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then should have put a what of that is a banger.

SPEAKER_00

I applaud you for that. You Midnight's hater. I applaud you for that. Midnight's hater. I love Midnight's, but that's a great song. Great song.

SPEAKER_01

It makes me feel so validated on the way that I was. Okay, so like I don't feel like I was ever in a relationship at that age where like I like was manipulated and like groomed. Yeah, well, for me, it's like but there were people in my life right after I got out of high school that I feel like manipulated me in the same way. Right, absolutely. And like made me make some not great decisions that I'm like. Oh my god, it makes me feel so validated.

SPEAKER_00

Great song. Damn it. I hate my choices now. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_01

What's your number six?

SPEAKER_00

I oh my god, in order, okay. Number six, this is because this is like this makes me think of when Taylor was first getting started. And really how it was in high school, right? But that's the way I loved you. Oh my gosh. That is something that's it, that is a big song to me forever. Okay, I just yeah, I that's probably one of my favorite tier list songs. Yep, it's so good. It's so good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I had to put this as number five because this song will forever hold meaning to me in my life. Okay. Sweet nothing.

SPEAKER_00

It's a beautiful song, but I hate Joe Alwyn. I do too. It's a beautiful song, though, and I'm sure that's very real things they experienced for a lot of the relationship. That is me and Kristen's song. It's a great song, it's a beautiful song. So, like that when we such a sweet song.

SPEAKER_01

When we decided what was gonna be like our song for our wedding, and like we were like, we were like, it has to be a Taylor Swift song.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I remember we asked, we would bounce ideas off of each other.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and and there were a lot of contenders, but like nothing hit that way. And then when I listened to Sweet Nothing with the idea of that being like our song, and just the simplicity of the lyrics of just being like, This is my person, I don't have to change myself. You don't need anything else, literally nothing. Yep.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, Okay, it's a beautiful song.

SPEAKER_01

I am so in love with this girl.

SPEAKER_00

I wonder in love with this song. It's a good one. I'm shocked it made the album because I am a believer that they were broken up when she dropped the album. But anyway, or at least rekindling, but that's for another day. Okay, okay. Oh, my next one? Yeah, okay. Father figure. Okay, so good to me. I'm sorry, it's one of her best songs she's ever put out in her entire career. It's probably also my age, the things I've been through. That's just a yeah, banger. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

What what number are we on? Oh, number four. And I kind of already talked about this. Okay. Last kiss.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, yeah, good one.

SPEAKER_01

I could see that. It literally changed the trajectory of my girlhood and also my love of Taylor Swift.

SPEAKER_00

I could see that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So mine next one would be haunted because that's one of my top off speak now.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

And that song just scratches, it takes me back.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Okay. Okay, number three. I think you're gonna be shocked by.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Call it what you want.

SPEAKER_00

Really? I don't even have a rap song on mine, I should have. Now again. Great song. Great song. Wasn't that one of your surprise songs? It was one of mine. No. It was one of mine. It was not. I had I was there. So you that was my No, it was girl! You don't remember getting angry version called What You Want? She was like literally in tears at Cincinnati.

SPEAKER_01

No, that was okay. So the reason why it's on my list is because that was the song that I listened to on repeat when me and Kristen first started talking.

SPEAKER_00

Literally, everything is what you want.

SPEAKER_01

Everything is one too. Great song. Good choice. Because me and Chris, like me and Kristen had this. We we talked for like several months, and I was like, Does she love me? Does she not love me? Does she love me? Does she not love me? And I was like, I would listen to the song, and I was like, Oh my god. I don't care what you call it, just I just want to be near you. Right. And I loved it.

SPEAKER_00

I I love that's a great song. Yeah. I can't believe you forgot that that was your surprise song. No, I remember is it Ivy? Yeah. Because Aaron Dessner. Yeah. I forgot. And we had another one. We had a three. Oh, yeah, because we had Gracie Absolutely. Gracie.

SPEAKER_01

Good job. Okay. Which I did not know much about Gracie Abrams at that time, but now I'm obsessed with her.

SPEAKER_00

I'm so glad I got to see her open for Indy. It was like a full-blown concert. Okay, well, I couldn't go because you got married. It was your own fucking fault.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, I didn't when we picked our wedding date, I she didn't have them.

SPEAKER_00

I know. She didn't have her dates.

unknown

I know.

SPEAKER_00

My third. Yes, what's your third? My tears ricochet. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. My number two. Okay. You're losing me.

SPEAKER_02

That's my number two.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Yes. Okay. Oh my god. Do you want to know what my number one is though? What? My tears ricochet.

SPEAKER_00

My number one is obviously my loyal number. You're losing me is one of the most heartbreaking songs she has ever wrote. The fact that she has her own heartbeat in the song. I get goosebumps, though. I can still get goosebumps. Every time that song comes on, I used to not be able to listen to it. I would just cry and cry and cry. But the way she captivates those emotions, every single person can relate to that. I just remember we yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. We had we had some pretty parallel moments in the past five, six, seven years. Yep. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

What's that for us? One of the best songs she's ever wrote. Yeah. And I love that Jack Antinoff let us know that she wrote it when she wrote it. And it was before they even broke up. Remember when he tweeted that picture?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So funny. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Literally, so many goosebumps. I can't. I can't.

SPEAKER_00

We had some of the same ones. I know.

SPEAKER_01

We're literally That was exciting. That was. That was. I thought we were gonna argue more on that. No, no. Well, because everything is good. Everything is good.

SPEAKER_00

It is so good.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I have another question for you. And we talked a little bit about your surprise songs, but I want to know more. Okay. Oh my god, okay. Can you tell us all of the Taylor Swift concerts that you have attended? Yes, I can. And which one was your favorite?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's hard. Okay. I did Cincy Night One. No, I mean of all time. I've only been the Reputation and then Four Eras. Really? Fun fact I had Speak Now tickets in Louisville, Kentucky, and on the way down, that was her first concert she ever canceled because she was sick, and then I couldn't go to the rething. I never I never went to another concert. I don't know why. It's really weird. But I didn't. So four eras tours and reputation. Shocker, I know. So you've been to five concerts, but only for two eras. Yes. And I wish I would have gone to more, but I didn't. But I'm still a fan. Yeah. Everyone listening, just because you couldn't go to a show doesn't mean you're not a fan. Sorry for you being poor. I was. Jeez. No, concert tickets are insane. I just I don't know why. I was coaching and traveling a lot. It was she always tours in the fall back then. Yeah. She always toured in the fall. I think because she did a lot of arenas in those. Yeah, for a little bit. Yeah. But it's fine.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so tell us about your Ares tour experience and which ones you went to.

SPEAKER_00

Cincinnati Night One, Cincinnati Night Two, London, and Indianapolis closing night. London, I was second to last closing night. I wanted to go closing night because I wanted to hear frickin' so long London and it didn't work out. I'm so mad about it still to this day. And I miss Jack Antonov. And Florence and the Machines in London. And I miss Maroon by one night in Indianapolis.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I was I was devastated that you missed Maroon. By one night. One night in Indy. Was it the night that I got married? Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm so sorry about that. Oh my god, I cried. I fell to the floor. I got banger surprise songs. Do not get me. I will never complain about a surprise song. Right. But damn it, did I deserve maroon? You really did.

SPEAKER_01

I remember when I learned that you were going to London. Yes. And I literally was like, if there's anybody in the whole wide world that deserves to go to London and see a London show, it is Danielle. That makes me happy.

SPEAKER_00

And I didn't think I had to see Tortured Poets. I didn't know that she was coming.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And and I, okay, because you've been a Swifty for so long, and tortured poets, obviously. But like also, I like lived vicariously through your social media when we went. And also just I love that you're traveling the world right now. I just have to say literally every time I see that you're like you literally just went to Spain. I did. I was so excited. I was so giddy. I said, damn it, this girl deserves this. Get divorced, and your life gets better.

SPEAKER_00

It really literally the girl of the century. Blow up. And speaking of London, we have to make sure your listeners know that I wore my wedding dress. You did. I was gonna talk about that. I wore my wedding dress. Cut it up.

SPEAKER_01

You cut your wedding dress to look like her. Torture poets. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And you wrote on it. All mostly lyrics from like Smallest Man Ever Lived. Right. Some black dog LML, some good lyrics from Torture Poets. And I wore the necklace and everything. Period, sis. Yes. And I did the friendship laces on my shoes. But I wore the wedding dress. And that was so epic. To London.

SPEAKER_01

Because if there was any way to destroy that wedding dress, that would be a good one. It was that way.

SPEAKER_00

It's amazing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Again, you deserved that. Yep. It was amazing. But what would you say was your fave? I don't know. All of them for different reasons. Like the first one, I got to go, I took my kids. Which at the time everyone's like, hey, let me young Swiss these, they don't eat again, blah, blah, blah. It's like my kids probably know more Taylor Swift songs than half the people there did. They literally were quite literally raised on Taylor Swift. They still are. I mean, they they know, I mean, they know a time. I mean, even little Logan is like he loves his favorite song's Exile. Yes. So he loves Exile. And then the second night was fun. Because we got behind the stage seeds and we went as ghosts. Oh my gosh, that was funny. And then we got Gracie and Aaron Delsner. So that was pretty cool. Yeah. London, obviously, just but I sat by myself in Wembley at first because I couldn't find tickets together. So I sat in Lower Bowl and by myself, I just vibed for the opening set. And then I went and found the pe my friends that I was with. And then that I mean, I don't know. And closing I in Indy. Yeah. Because I had good clo I had good surprise songs. Was that her last show in the US? It was. And I went as fresh as a slammer and I wore a jailbird suit. Oh, I didn't know that. And I got the bolter. I got banging surprise songs in Indy. Actually, Cornelia Street and the Bolter. Okay. And then Death by a Thousand Cuts in the Great War. And the Great War is Death by Death by a Thousand Cuts. Death by a Thousand Cuts.

SPEAKER_01

Is that when she was mashing them up? Yes. Okay, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yes. Okay, so what were all of your all of your surprise songs? Okay. I'm only me when I'm with you. Oh, that's a good one. Evermore. Ivy with Aaron Desner. I miss you. I'm sorry. With Gracie. Call it what you want. Angry version. Long live with change. The archer with You're on Your Own Kid. The fact that you got the Archer. I know. How weird.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

I really wanted the Black Dog. It's fine. Cornelia Street in the Bolter and Death by a Thousand Cuts in the Great War. Everything but Maroon. Okay, but those are still really fucking bad. So good. Oh, I was blessed. Yeah. And I would have continued to go to concerts if I could afford it.

SPEAKER_01

I remember after our and I still want to do this. Okay. I remember after we went to her concert. I wanted to get a tattoo. Okay. That mashed up the two songs that I got. I love that. I want some.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Okay. What was your idea?

SPEAKER_01

The lyric and call it what you want. My castle crumbled overnight. Okay. And then Ivy. I wanted a like stained glass castle window with Ivy going up. Oh, that's so pretty. I want to get it stayed. Then get it. You know, I got I got three Taylor tattoos at once. I know I love it. I just like I haven't like I don't know. I do it. Haven't gotten a tattoo in like a really long time.

SPEAKER_00

I got three at once.

SPEAKER_01

The last tattoo I got was a semi matching tattoo with my ex. So love that. Oh my god. That I still want to cover up. Kristen also has a tattoo gun. And I'm like, oh my god. I'm begging her to tattoo me. Stop it. You should get to it. But yeah, no, I I wasn't mad my like surprise songs. No. But there were other ones that I did I was really jealous of. Oh what? Death by a thousand cuts. It was good. And I also was like upset that I didn't get enchanted.

SPEAKER_00

You what do you mean? No, no, no, no, not enchanted. You ran because you got the full performance.

SPEAKER_01

That's not what I meant. Long live. I I'm glad I'm I'm sad that we didn't get long live. Like we didn't because like she only did it like certain times. I got it. You did. Okay. With change.

SPEAKER_00

I did it. I did in London. Okay. But I got the archer and I didn't want the archer because I already heard it in Cincinnati. I wanted like, you know, Marion. Oh, because she used to do it as a full song. As a full song? She used to do the archer. Yeah. It was beautiful with You're on Your Own Kid, and it really made a lot of sense. My favorite mashup she probably ever did was Is It Over Now and Out of the Woods. I love when she did that mashup.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, I and every time she's in the Black Doc. Also, not a question I had planned, but what are your favorite vault tracks? Like not Taylor's version. Taylor's version. What album do you think has the best Taylor's version? Because I have my answer.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, nothing can compare to the vault tracks of 1989. That's what I was gonna say. Give me a break. Oh my god. Slut the radio. Listen, listen. For the young Swifties who were not around when this song was really wrote, and if it was because she said it was supposed to replace what? Blank space. It was slut or that. The world would not have been able to handle it. Taylor was called a slut. Oh my god, that's all they cared about was who she was dating.

SPEAKER_01

The world would have and and literally it was not until she was fucking engaged. Engaged that they stopped that she uh brought a man to an award show.

SPEAKER_00

I know, I know. Never once I love that song so much, and the world wouldn't have been able to handle it back then. But is it over now? Should have been on the original 1989. Yeah. Damn, that's that album has a lot of bangers. Yeah. But also, I am so I like Mr. Perfectly Fine, though, also off Fearless, The Vault.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Also, I mean, I'm so glad we got the 10-minute version of All Too Well.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, could you imagine if we never would have got that? It changed my life. I agree, it changed my life. I actually think it I almost think that changed her career. Oh, that short film was incredible. It was so it was so good. It was so good.

SPEAKER_01

The way that she casted it was perfect. Oh my god, she's a fucking mastermind. She is. She's a fucking mastermind mastermind. Oh, and that concludes part one of my Taylor Swift episode with Danielle. Thank you so much for listening. As always, you can find me on social media on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. And you can also email me at I've Got SomethingToSaypod at gmail.com. See you all next week. Bye bye.
