SPEAKER_05Hi everyone, welcome back to another episode of our podcast. Today I'm joined by our group threes at the Brumsgrove School. We've just recently had our show over the weekend, and we're gonna have a little chat about the things that we enjoyed, our favourite pieces, and also our biggest lesson learnt from doing the show. So, Abby, what was your highlight of the show just gone? I'd say all like the backstage energy because we've got like there's loads of people. You've got Birmingham, 123, and then Romsgrove and all the weenies as well. You've got everyone, and they're all so excited just to go on stage because we've been working so hard for it, and so yeah. Yeah, the the backstage environment is always so lovely. Everyone's buzzing to go on stage, you've got all the schools coming together because they don't really get to see each other that often. So when they do come together to perform, it is really, really nice, and the support and everyone's love for each other is just lovely to see.
SPEAKER_02Ace? Um I think my highlight is Michael Jackson because when I came on the stage, I could feel the energy from the crowd, you know, when there was clapping, you know, like when I came on, as soon as I got my costume on, all the fans were loving it, they were clapping for me, and I could just feel the energy, and I felt like I was Michael Jackson the moment, and I felt like that like my moves were more affected by the audience because they were really really helping me out there, and if it weren't for them, I don't know where I would be today. And I just wanna say a big thank you to my mother because if it weren't for her, I wouldn't be where I was today. So, um, mum, love you so much.
SPEAKER_05Oh, love that, love that. Little shout out to Ace's mum there. So I'm gonna ask everyone, which I'm sure we already know Ace's favourite piece was Michael Jackson. Would you agree? Yeah. Okay, so what is Ruby? What was your favourite piece in the show?
SPEAKER_03My favourite piece in the show was probably Moulin Rouge because the choreographers put their everything into it, and I just feel like we all did so well on the dance, and we all gave our all.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I loved Moulin Rouge. It was so nice to see all three groups from Brahmers Grave come together, and you just absolutely smashed it all of you. The costumes looked amazing, the staging was brilliant, and the choreography, Jess, she did an absolutely amazing job. Abby, what was your favourite piece? Um, I would have to say Moulin Rouge 2 or Die with a smile, which is what I did with Taylor, because they're just both beautiful pieces, so yeah. Yeah, and your dancing that was also beautiful, and Taylor singing in that was just amazing. So well done, Taylor, as well. Shout out to you.
SPEAKER_01Eva, what was your favourite piece? I think my favourite favourite piece was Shrek because like I think all the costumes worked really well with like everything in the show. And yeah. Um, I think Michael Jackson.
SPEAKER_02And and I think Shrek because my donkey, I was donkey, I made the fans laugh a few times, and then I had a solo to pull it with as well. And I think my solo, yeah, just showing my characteristics, you know. I was helping people make moves on girls because some people here can't really do it nowadays, but I've got the experience, so that's why they put me forward to this solo, and I loved this. And I want to give a shout out to Morgan for choreographing this and um thanks for making me donkey and Susie. Thanks for making me donkey, and thanks for making Abby Shrek. I thought to make a move.
SPEAKER_05Thanks, Ace. So I love donkeys. The next question is what is your biggest lesson learnt from the show? Ruby.
SPEAKER_03My biggest l lesson learnt was to always drink water and always prepare before going on stage, clear your throat, drink water and hydrate.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. We had a little mishap backstage. I'm not sure if any of you are aware, but Ruby didn't drink enough water and she had to Well done. Evie actually went on for Ruby because she wasn't feeling very well, so well done to Evie. Abby, what's your biggest lesson learnt? Um, I'd say show must go on because like we said, Evie had to go on as Ruby as Fiona, and then also I lost my voice, and then Josh had to go on a Shrek on Sunday show. Um, and I think he did quite well, so shout out to Josh, but yeah, he did amazing, yeah. So yeah, the show must go on. I like that one because there was a few mishaps in Shrek, but we managed to pull it together and everyone did amazing. Anyone else? Your biggest lesson learnt, Eva?
SPEAKER_01I think like if anything happens, just improvise and just like think of something on the spot. Don't just freeze and just like smile and like do whatever you think you should do. Don't freeze.
SPEAKER_05Okay, now this one, I'm interested to hear what you'll say about this one. What is your biggest tip for someone who is nervous about performing in a show or they're doing their first show?
SPEAKER_00Evie? Um, to just like not worry about anything, because like it was my first show at the theatre workshop here, and I had a lovely group and they all supported me for a little bit. Oh love and just if you're worried, you you can always share what happened or something like that. And yeah, I just had a lovely show.
SPEAKER_05So well done, Evie. You absolutely smashed it. It was so proud of you. Yeah, it was Evie's first show, and she did so well. The group have been so lovely to her, she settled in amazing, so yeah, well done Evie. Okay, does anyone else have any advice for anyone who was doing a show? Ruby?
SPEAKER_03My biggest tip about doing a show, if you're ever ever worried or nervous, always stare at the back of the room because no one will know where you're looking. You'll they'll just think that you're looking at someone in the audience.
SPEAKER_05Everyone there is there to support you, like, because they've got their kids there and like if you mess up, then they're gonna be like, oh that's okay. Yeah. Because you we're all still we're all children, we're still learning. So Yeah. That's it, and that's another great tip. Everyone there is to support you, no one's judging you. You know, it's not an audition, it's not to it's a fun environment, it's exciting, so just have fun with it. Evie.
SPEAKER_00I think it really does help when you're you have someone in the crowd for you because also the adrenaline of not wanting to let them down and that they're supporting you and they just love what you're doing, anyways.
