Detaching From Outcomes
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You're attached to specific outcomes. That attachment keeps you stuck within the boundaries of your current beliefs. You meet someone amazing. The date doesn't go great. You spiral: "I did something wrong. I'm not manifesting correctly." You're so attached to the outcome you think is success that you miss the miracle. Daryl turned down $200,000 because it didn't feel like peace. He detached from the outcome. And that's when the real miracles started flowing. Stop asking "why" and "how." Just ask: does this feel like peace? If yes, lean in. If no, step away. That's it.

Welcome to Teachings from the Masters with Daryl Sean Price. Hi, welcome. I'm so glad you're here. So today I want to talk to you about one of the places I see most people struggle when they're really starting to turn their attention inward and not pay attention to what's happening externally to find their peace. And that's in detaching from outcomes. And let me talk to you about why that's so important. Because if you're attached to a specific outcome, and I mean any outcome, it doesn't matter if it's negative, it doesn't matter if it's positive, it doesn't matter if it's good, bad, neutral, whatever it is, however you perceive it. When you're attached to an outcome, your energy is focused on creating that outcome externally versus being aware and allowing things to be as they are. Now, this awareness, this allowance, that's where your superpower is to create miracles. Because as you're focused on specific outcomes that you want externally, it's only within the realm that your brain can currently process. It's only within the boundaries that are already set by the beliefs you have that says this is who you are, that is the way that the world works, this is the way you've always lived, that that energy is flowing. So, and it really doesn't matter what the situation is, whether it's a situation with a relationship or your health or financial freedom or a job or an opportunity or whatever it is, the more that you attach to a specific outcome in these situations and in these experiences, the more energy you're giving to just the experience, the way you've had it, to keep building it within those boundaries only. So you're blocking and slowing down miracles in your life. The reality is this everything outside of you, everything outside of you, is just a reflection. So if it is, why would you give the reflection all that attention instead of shifting the identity so that the reflection matches? And so, for example, and I'll give you a quick example, this isn't anything specific, but in this example, let's say you've done a lot of inner work and meditating, and you started to feel at peace, and you started to feel aligned, and all of a sudden you meet someone and it's just fantastic. Like, oh my gosh, I've wanted to meet someone like this for a long time, and wow, the connection is there, and you spend some time with them, and you're really getting to know them, and it's great, and it's amazing, and it's beautiful. And then maybe you go out on a date, and it doesn't go so great. Well, it didn't go so great because you expected it to go a specific way instead of just having the experience as it is. And so what happens is most of the time, and I see people do this, like, oh, well, that didn't work. Why didn't that work? I didn't have the experience I expected to have. So because I didn't have that experience, maybe I did something wrong. I need to go back to the drawing board, maybe I'm not manifesting correctly, maybe I'm not in alignment, let me go back and do more meditating and more visualizing and let me work on myself and then try again. You're so attached to the specific outcome of whatever that thing is that you think is success based on your current identity, that your energy is on making that look the way you want it to look based on your current identity. You know, I share this example a lot with the people I work with. The greatest love story in the world would be this. Two people meet, they see each other from across a large crowd, maybe on a crowded street one day, and there's a connection, and there's a spark, and there's an obvious pull to one another, and there's this energy that just pulls them together. And they navigate through this crowd and they meet and they're eye to eye and they can feel it, and they spend the day together, and it is a beautiful conversation and connection, and they connect in all the ways that feel comfortable and wonderful and uplifting for them. And then the next day, they part ways and never see each other again. But they both hold in their hearts the gratitude for that exact moment, for that experience, exactly the way it was, knowing I had something special. I had this special experience, and I'm grateful for it. Without the expectation of, well, but I want more and I want more of this and I want this person to pay attention to me. And this is what happens to us. So we get in our heads, and our mind is trying to defend our current identity. We get in our heads about what things mean, and that's where we attach to outcomes. So you meet someone and it's a beautiful experience and you have a great conversation. Oh, well, that means I should ask them out and we should start dating, and we should start doing this, and we should start planning our future, etc. It doesn't mean anything. We think it does. Well, now I have to this. No, you don't have to do anything. You had an experience. Well, then what am I supposed to do? Nothing. Do nothing. Well, but I want to have more experience with them. Okay, and have more experience with them, but only if it feels like peace, not because it's an obligation. And yes, I know right now you're thinking, well, that's kind of callous, and I want to build something. I want to build a long-term relationship, for example. Okay. So go inward and really feel what that long-term relationship feels like, and then let the outside take care of itself. You don't know that the person you just had this experience with is that for you. You don't know that it wouldn't lead to meeting someone else that is that for you. You don't know anything of what's going to happen on the outside if you let go and allow the miracles to manifest. That's why it's so important to detach from outcomes. And one of the things I see a lot. So we have three tendencies as human beings of what we do in any situation. We are either reactive to what's happening around us, proactive to make things happen around us the way we want, or submissive, and I don't even want to say submissive. I want to point out that even though I say submissive, I'm not meaning that we're just a victim. I'm meaning we're just accepting things the way they are without wanting to change it one way or another. So we're submissive in the sense of flowing. We are allowing ourselves to experience things exactly the way they are without projecting meaning, obligation, or expectation onto them. And here's how each of those work out. When we are reactive, it's usually we're trying to do things to protect ourselves from pain or potential for pain or any type of suffering in any way. So I'm reactive to, oh no, the market's crashing. I need to go get more money and save more. Oh no, this person is reacting in a way I don't like. I'm gonna put up boundaries and I need to go fix it with them, and I need to go get closure, and I need to go fix and fix and fix, and let's put out the fires. And no matter how hard you react to try to prevent pain in your life, there still will be pain. And that's fine. You're meant to experience pain. Or there's the proactive approach. I'm gonna go make something myself. I'm gonna hustle and I'm gonna push and I'm gonna make this thing happen. I'm gonna make this external expectation look the way I want it to, and I'm gonna go save this money, and I'm gonna go invest, and I'm gonna go do this and this and this and this and this and this. Thinking that somehow by pushing that hard, it gives us a sense of fulfillment that tells us, oh, we're worthy to be successful or have this thing in our life now because we've put in the work. And here's the caveat to that one: no matter how hard you push, no matter how proactive you are, it will never give you that complete sense of fulfillment. What does is allowing the external to be exactly as it is, that submitting to the flow of the way things are, because your focus is on internal alignment. Your focus is here and only here. You are at peace no matter what. Let me give you some examples from my life. Those of you who've been following me for a while know that I recently moved to Maine, and it was miraculous the way it happened, and everything fell into place. And me and my group of roommates and business partners here in Maine, it's like a dream come true. Look at this beautiful property. Well, here's some things that happened since we've been here. So we're looking at starting a business, and we look, we were looking at partnering up with someone who was very on board and very excited and ready to invest, and they wanted the business to run in a specific way, and we wanted it to run in another specific way. At the end of the day, it didn't feel like peace to say yes to them. Now my mind is like, well, are you kidding? Well, that would have been the money you needed to make this business to make it successful. But no, no, not attached to that outcome. It doesn't feel like peace, I say no and walk away. Yeah, but he was gonna hand you $200,000. Doesn't matter, it doesn't feel like peace, I walk away. And I know there's some of you with your logical minds right now that are going nuts like, well, I'll take the $200,000 from him, just give him my number and I'll do it. It's detaching from outcomes, is what creates the miracle. Sure, my logical mind in the current place I'm in would say that's an amazing miracle to have that blessing from that potential business partner. It didn't feel right, it didn't feel like peace, so I stepped away. Okay. So I wasn't attached to the good thing that happened. There was another one where we had a perfect building for what we were looking for, and it just felt like it would match us well. And the landlord of that building said, nope, I don't want to work with you guys, I want to work with someone else. Okay, awesome. That's not for us. That's great. I'm just watching it happen. Now, logical mind is, oh man, you can convince them. Why don't you renegotiate? Why don't you offer to pay more? Because that building's perfect. No, no, no, no, no. I accept things exactly the way they are. I am not reactive, I am not proactive, I am submitting to the flow of the universe, and that's where the miracles happen. What is the miracle that's going to happen behind each of these? I don't know. And I don't want to know. So that's the things you really need to get out of in your life. The becausees and the have-to's. Well, this happened because it doesn't matter why it happened, it just happened. It happened. The only because that counts is it happened as a reflection of your inner alignment. So you just had an experience. Does it feel like peace or not? If it feels like peace, keep leaning into it and keep having that experience. If it does not, step away. No matter how good or bad it looks to the logical mind, just step away. No more attention there. Nope, that's not where my attention goes anymore. Now tell you, this is exactly how we got here with all the miracles that fell into place that made this such an easy transition for us once we let go of all the outcomes we were attached to. Well, we have to do it this way with this type of money, with this type of income, and we have to have this type. No. I have to be at peace, is the only have to I have. And where I see people struggle with this the most is the obligations that they put on themselves. Well, I've got kids and I've got spouses and I've got jobs and I've got, and they, yes, you do have those things. They do exist, they are experiences you're having right now. So have the experience with complete awareness and detachment from it, meaning anything. I'm going to go eat dinner with my kids because it feels good to do so. Not because I have to go take them to dinner because that's what a dad would do. Nope. It feels good to do it. Oh, it feels good right now to go outside and take a break from my kids. So I'm going to do it. Well, but that's not being a good parent. Doesn't matter. I'm going to do it. See, here's the thing: the more that you give attention to the things that you're experiencing, anything beyond awareness and response, that means you're giving less and less attention to being in alignment and at peace. And when your attention is on your inner alignment, when you are at peace no matter what happens, miracles happen quickly. I have had money handed to me without any explanation of why this person wants to hand me money. I've had people reach out to me and help me do things that I didn't even think I needed help with, but it was fell in the place very easily. I had this beautiful property that we live on just kind of given to us. I mean, sure, we're paying the rent, but there was no there was no hoops we had to jump through. It was just, alright, I like you. It's yours. All of that happens because my focus is here. Now, how do I apply that to this moment? I'm standing in front of these beautiful trees. I'm talking to you. I'm wearing a blue shirt. I have this necklace on. I have this necklace on. I hear the crows. That's it. Well, but what if nobody watches? I don't care. I'm not doing this for a specific outcome. I'm doing this because this is what I'm doing right now and this is the experience I'm having. Nobody may see this video. A hundred million people may see this video. Doesn't matter what the outcome is, it matters what state I'm in, despite whatever the outcome would be. And here's the thing: this is going to feel uncomfortable for a little while as you truly detach from outcomes. Because that means you're detaching from this the joy and the excitement of, oh my gosh, look at this beautiful thing that happened. Wow, I just won the lottery, or oh, I just found my soulmate, or oh, I just got a trip to Ireland, or whatever it is. Oh, that's nice. I guess that's what we're doing now. And people might think, well, why aren't you feeling more? Like, are you are you having issues? Uh doesn't make sense why you're not reacting. Because I'm not attached to an outcome. This happens, I appreciate it, I'm aware of it, and I have the experience. And if it feels like peace, I keep leaning into that experience. If it doesn't feel like peace, even if it seems like the most amazing thing in the world, I step away. It no longer gets attention. And in that I have placed 100% trust in my inner alignment. Your spirit. Your spirit is the energy of creation that flows through all things, you included, and the trees and the birds, and the sky, and everything. That energy of creation is always seeking to be as high vibration and in harmony as possible. So the more that your attention is on your vibration, your inner alignment, the easier the miracles happen that match that. And yeah, you can bring it down. You can have all these beliefs that say, well, I'm not going to allow myself to have more money until I go work harder and prove myself and prove my worth and do the things I'm supposed to and meet the right people and do the right negotiations and have these deals and sell more whatever. You can. And that's how you'll get it. Or you can let go of all of that, all attachments to any outcome, and have complete faith that as you step into the unknown, you will be led on the easiest path to creating your happiest life. And that's why it's so important to detach from outcomes, because it's about where your energy is. If your energy is outside, external, so much on taking care of the life you already have, there's a lot less energy to come from the internal, to come from your level of alignment, to create miracles. Now there might be some, and miracles might still happen. It's not like it's an all or nothing. But the more your attention is here, the less you have to struggle out there to have the life you want most. Because that's really who you are. You are that creator. You are here with these experiences, with this matter, with the body you have to interact and have experiences that you have created from the energy of creation itself that is your spirit. So you're taking that energy, and that energy gets interpreted by your mind with the current beliefs and filters you have and says, oh, well, that means this. Oh, that energy feels like this, that means more money, because more money means freedom. Oh, the energy feels like this. Oh, that means go on more dates because if you go on more dates, that means feeling more love. Oh, the energy feels like this. Well, that means exercise more and go eat better food because that feels like health. Okay. So you've created those. Guess what? Based on what you think with your current beliefs, you will create experiences. That's how you are creating the matter around you. That's how you're creating your life. And the experiences are just the feedback. They're not the reward, they're not the result, they're not the consequence, they're just the feedback of where you are at alignment. So you go out and hustle and push and don't get what you want. Hey, that didn't feel good. Oh, I need to shift a belief. There's an attachment there. So it didn't feel good. Let me fix that. How do you fix it? By stop paying attention to it. Don't like that. No attention. I'm gonna go back here. Feel at peace. Once I feel at peace, I will look at the feedback again. Oh, it feels like peace to go over to that grapevine trellis and set up a chair and just sit there. I'm gonna go do that now. Well, why? Because it feels like peace. Well, what's that gonna lead to? How's that gonna help you? How does that help you reach your goals? It doesn't. It feels like peace. My only goal is to be at peace no matter what is happening outside of me. And yes, there's a lot of faith in this. So you meet somebody and it feels amazing. And you go have an experience with them. And then if it doesn't feel like peace to continue, you don't continue. But you're grateful for that experience. You go take a leap of faith and you jump in and you take some financial risk and it doesn't pay off the way you want. Okay. It felt like peace, and I did it. There are times in my life I have lost, for example, $50,000 taking a leap of faith. And I don't go back and like, oh man, how dumb, and I should have known better. Nope. It felt like the right thing to do, and I did it. And I accepted that losing that $50,000 got me to the next step of whatever is the easiest path to my happiest life. And in that experience that I'm referring to, it actually led to myself and a lot of people around me finding freedom outside of that financial windfall we thought we would get, risking the 50,000. But freeing ourselves from attachments we didn't realize we had that we wouldn't have otherwise. And that's how it works. You don't know why and you don't need to. You don't know how something's gonna happen and you don't need to. This isn't happening because you did this, this, this, and is leading to this, this, this. No. This is happening, I'm aware of it. Does it feel like peace? Lean in. Does it not feel like peace? Pull away. You are so powerful. I wish, I wish that I could just climb in your head and help you see how powerful you are. Because I truly mean it. There is nothing, nothing greater than the power of you. When you are in alignment, when your spirit, heart, mind, and body are in sync, because you are at peace no matter what happens, you will naturally create your happiest life and manifest miracles. I'll see you next time.
