SPEAKER_01Hey everyone. Welcome back to our monthly motherhood moments for rooted conversations. My name is Kirsten Hiebner, co-founder of Parker Baby. And um, this month is like our Mother's Day, monthly motherhood moments for April, or May, sorry. It's April right now. I I barely know what day it is, honestly. Yes, on Monday I thought it was Friday. My twins turned 11. Oh my gosh, they turned 11 on Monday. And I've just been, it's kind of thrown me for one. It's kind of thrown me. So yeah, it's been it's been a few weeks, it's been a hard few weeks for my mom heart. But this monthly motherhood moments, I was thinking about Mother's Day, and I was thinking about saying thank you and just like what it means to be a mom and kind of the heaviness and the behind the scenes work that it takes to be a mom. And I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for the little things like the thank you for researching the nap schedule and researching feed feeding schedules, looking up side effects to every little medicine, looking up illnesses and every little reaction that your kid is having, carrying that burden of that that is only on you. Um and just knowing that you're the only one that is keeping that baby alive with your breast milk or pumping or even formula. You're the one that is remembering to feed them. Um you're the only one that knows what your two-year-old is saying all the time and deciphering what that little babble is. Um thinking three steps ahead and knowing what is going to trigger a reaction from every kid in your family in every situation and trying to avoid it. Keeping up with the shoes, the clothes, the doctor's appointments, cutting their nails, their hair, um, keeping up with the school dress-up days, the picture days, the sports activities, um, trying to sneak healthy foods and vegetables and fruit into dino nuggets and pasta and smoothies and um finding healthy snacks and ways to get them to eat. If you don't have a kid that even likes to eat, and you're trying to just get them to eat anything and carrying that burden, trying to get your worrying about your kids hitting milestones and getting them into summer activities, being the mother's helper at school, making sure their school projects are in on time and doing well. The laundry and the more laundry and the more laundry, and not just getting it into the laundry machine, but then into the dryer and then folded and then put back into the correct drawers for the correct children. And then your own laundry. Um, researching camps and sports, but not too many camps and not too many sports, making sure that they still have a childhood and that they still have friendships and healthy friendships. But then also knowing that the stakes are so high for all of these things. This is not just a job, this is not just a project, this is your child, this is their life that you are holding so gently in your hands that you are in charge of, and just feeling the heaviness of that in every decision that you make. Researching car safety and sunscreen safety, and knowing you still haven't researched everything that you're supposed to. Thank you for being the one that they run to, and the one that they need because they know you will be there, because you show up in all the behind-the-scenes ways. I know it feels behind the scenes, but when these babies run to you or are older and come to you with big feelings and problems, it's all because of these behind-the-scenes hard work. You're putting in the work and it's all gonna pay off, and you're gonna be the one that they need for the rest of their lives because of all these little things that feels like no one notices, but they notice and it shows in the way that they run to you. So thank you. You're amazing, and happy Mother's Day.
