Most podcast guesting advice fails at the part that matters: getting in front of the right listeners and turning one conversation into measurable business growth. We’re Jason Wright and Sarah, and we break down a practical, AI-powered approach that helps service-based entrepreneurs stop wasting time on generic outreach and start landing guest spots that actually move the needle.

We start with the biggest mistake we see: “spray and pray” pitching. Instead of blasting the same message to a random list of shows, we explain how to target podcasts whose audience matches your ideal client profile. You’ll hear the exact questions to ask about a show’s listeners, what they’re trying to accomplish, and whether your expertise truly fits. We also share how AI tools can help you think through your criteria, tighten your positioning, and make smarter decisions faster.

Then we get tactical on the podcast pitch itself. Hosts don’t care about your resume, they care about whether their audience will walk away with something useful. We talk through what makes a pitch short, specific, and listener-first, plus how to use AI to draft a pitch that highlights real takeaways without sounding generic. From there, we cover guest prep (anticipating questions, strengthening examples) and the often-missed follow-up sequence that turns an interview into leads, relationships, and next steps.

If you want a repeatable podcast guest strategy for visibility, authority, and lead generation, hit play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s pitching podcasts, and leave a review so more founders can find it.

If this sparked ideas for your brand or business, subscribe for more deep dives, share the show with a founder who needs focus, and leave a quick review to help others find it. Why Podcast Guesting Works

SPEAKER_00

What's happening everyone? Jason Wright here. Sarah's jumped on with me today. I want to talk about podcast guesting because I think it's one of the most underutilized visibility strategies for service-based entrepreneurs, and AI has made the whole process a lot more manageable.

Stop The Spray And Pray

SPEAKER_01

Why underutilized? There are a lot of people pitching themselves to podcasts.

SPEAKER_00

There are a lot of people sending generic pitches that go nowhere. That's different from having an actual strategy. Most people spray and pray, they find a list of shows, send the same pitch to all of them, and wonder why the response rate is terrible. So what does a smarter approach look like?

Target Shows With Ideal Clients

SPEAKER_00

It starts with targeting the right shows, not just any podcast in your industry, but shows whose audience matches your ideal client profile. AI can help you think through that criteria clearly. Who listens to this show? What are they trying to accomplish? Would those people benefit from what you do? That filter alone eliminates a lot of wasted

Write A Pitch Hosts Want

SPEAKER_00

effort.

SPEAKER_01

And then the pitch itself has to be better than what most people send.

SPEAKER_00

A good pitch is short, specific, and about the host's audience before it's about you. You tell AI the show's focus, the audience, and your expertise, and ask it to draft a pitch that leads with the value you'd bring to their listeners, not a list of your credentials. The host doesn't care about your resume, they care about whether their audience will get something useful from the conversation.

Prepare Like A Pro With AI

SPEAKER_01

What about the prep side? Because guesting well is its own skill.

SPEAKER_00

AI helps with that too. Once you're booked, you give it the show's recent episodes and your topic and ask it to anticipate the questions you're likely to get. You run through your answers, identify where you're vague or where your examples are weak, and show up prepared instead of winging it.

Follow Up To Drive Results

SPEAKER_01

I think people also underestimate how much follow-up matters after an episode airs. You do the interview and then just wait for it to do something.

SPEAKER_00

That's a missed opportunity. AI can help you build a simple follow-up sequence for after an episode publishes, a social post, an email to your list, a thank you message to the host with a specific ask for next step. The episode itself is the starting point, not the finish line.

SPEAKER_01

So guesting stops being a passive strategy and becomes something you're actually driving results from.

SPEAKER_00

One well-placed guest appearance on the right show in front of the right audience can do more for your business than months of random content. AI makes the targeting, the pitching, the prep, and the follow-through all faster and more intentional.

SPEAKER_01

If you've been thinking about podcast guesting but haven't pulled the trigger, this is a pretty good roadmap to start with.
