What's up, people? It's your boy Toby, and this is Fresh of the Boat Show. Listen, I want to thank every single one of you that have been supporting us, watching these videos, leaving likes and leaving comments. It is important that you don't only watch the videos or you click the like button as well because it helps push the videos through the algorithm and for people to see it, you know. Because unfortunately, this is the way YouTube is and this is the way the streaming platforms are, and everything, you know, because we are trying to build this platform for our culture and for you as well. And also, it gives us the motivation to come here every weekend and record and everything because we enjoy doing it, but we also need you guys to support us as well. You get what I mean? So do that.

SPEAKER_02

Are you mad? You know why the man called me about to catch? You gonna need one bigger and then taller ladder. Just that dancing dagger, I'm out like killing rag. What's all the inky haga? When I come with a inky yanka, I think what kind of black yanka. Now the man there wish that they never done that. Everybody raped out, Stevie Wanda. Niggas doing eight mile when they hear the thunder. Make a nigga wake up, rise from your slumber. I don't even clean yet, man. I'm still on amber. What you wanna see me fall down, see me under. Sometimes I gotta think hard and I ponder. They can't come close, come here, but they wanna just stay fast, stay there, stop the dungeon.

SPEAKER_05

Loki, I love them done, they noticed. I'm not joking, no matter them, no me. Yeah, I think I'm gonna be yoke, but you act them do me. I don't need to do me.

SPEAKER_16

Where were you? Where were you the first time you heard? Peru para. Peru peru parao than the parra. Yo, where were you the first time you heard it?

SPEAKER_11

I was in the kitchen, actually, I was making food. Went back to the living room, picked up my phone, went on Twitter, and I saw Peru, Peru, you know, Nigerian Twitter, you know. Yeah, I was like, whoa, are Nigerians dead in Peru? Or something happening to Nigerians in Peru? Yeah. Then before you knew it, then I later on figure out later after a while, then I became clear that this is a song I get. But then I now started saying Peru, Fireboy, Peru, Fireboy, Fireboy DM. Then finally I heard the tune. It was an audio then. So then when we heard it, I thought, rah, that's one they call, right? And then I realized the madness this brother did on the tune. I was like, nah, this tune is sick. So that moment is still very vivid.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sick man. Fam, I was at a club, bro, embarking. I know I remember vividly well. Fam. Girls holding waste. Listen, listen, bro. Lord, waste that night, bro. Everywhere, bruv. You get me. I was at the club. I remember where I was. I was in the smoking area.

SPEAKER_10

You don't even know.

SPEAKER_16

Vividly well. And I never smokes. Now do the calculations, bro. You get me? Bruh, I remember I was there. Yeah. First of all, the DJ played that song like four times that night. You know what I mean? The first time he played it, I didn't really catch on because obviously I was having a conversation. Shit. You get me? But then the second time, it kind of clicked. Yo, mama just played the song. You get me? So obviously, I brought that man Shazam, innit? Shazam the thing. Was Fireboy. Fast forward, bro. I played that song every day for a month, bruv. Tell you. Bro.

SPEAKER_12

Even Fireboy starts to begging, please. Bro, listen. Please.

SPEAKER_16

I contributed to I don't know how many streams he had on that song. I definitely contributed to that.

SPEAKER_11

I forgot to imagine. Imagine the world. I which I believe someone will create this technology someday. But just imagine, you know, when you play music. Imagine every time you play a song, the artist's mouth aches.

SPEAKER_16

That's punishment right there, bro. That's punishment right there, bro.

SPEAKER_12

No, no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_16

Listen, bro, we don't need that kind of technology, bro. Because that happened to podcasters as well. Imagine if someone listen to your podcast and everything. Your mouth is aching this year, bro. I mean, I'm telling you, and and imagine if your podcast gets a uh fucking a million views. You don't die with that now. You're done.

SPEAKER_12

You're just shocked that the next future waiting for your favorite podcaster to drop around.

SPEAKER_16

I'm telling you, bro, so you can punish him. You see him in the hospital idea. I'll tell you, so you can punish him. Yeah, bro. I'm telling you, that song, I played that song. Yeah, everyone around me was tired of that song. That song on Bandana. Bandana was that trend again that that just caught on. Bro, I was addicted to it. I played it for like at least two months. For people to understand multiple times a day.

SPEAKER_11

I can imagine, bro. Because for people to understand, because you know we deal with people that really struggle with comprehension. For some people to understand, you see the way we all agree collectively. Beyonce is a beautiful woman. Brianna is a beautiful woman. I'm not attracted to them. But I can acknowledge, I can say, you know what, I'm not gonna be an idiot and lie and say they're not beautiful, they are beautiful. That's the same sentiments I have towards Bandana. It's a very good song. We all agree it's a good song, but is it?

SPEAKER_16

It didn't have it for you.

SPEAKER_11

I don't know. I I get when I hear it, I'll let it play, but it's not uh like it was never a go-to. So I wasn't like because I rate songs, I rate songs based on the their replay value. So I rate always rank songs out of ten. So I would say for me, bandana was a six. If you put gone to my head, I'll push it to six point five. Oh, for real. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

That was a time I was playing bandana multiple times a day. Now I haven't played it for some time now, right? But anytime it comes on, I'll vibe to it. It's like it's just one of them songs for me, you know, which kind of makes me wonder, right? Those sort of songs, when artists are in the studio, yeah, do they know this is gonna bang?

SPEAKER_11

Some artists do though. Some artists do.

SPEAKER_16

You got me because I look at it from a podcaster's point of view, yeah. Some episodes, you'll be like, yeah, yeah, we did well, right? Yeah, it's cool, isn't it? But some episodes you can feel it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

You got what I'm saying? So I look at it from that angle as well. As an artist, you know, you're doing all these songs and everything, yeah. But you know that this one is gonna hit.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, of course, 100%. Uh for me, I've always said it. I feel like we're in a place of the world anyway, where people we're accustomed to robotic things. So, for instance, you watch a photo match, you expect it to be like lights, sparkle, ten gold, brother, that's not real life. An artist goes and you're like, yeah, that artist must come out of a banger. That's not real life. A podcast everything should just be allowed and left alone to just naturally take it to course, isn't it? So I feel like with artists, they would know. And that's why a lot of times they do albums. Because imagine you drop in a 12-track album, you expect it to be hit, hit nine, it's impossible. So some songs would mean something to them which wouldn't, but of course it wouldn't mean anything to us, it wouldn't resonate because we're like, oh, it's gonna end up. You know, but if you check the video's last album, um outside with you, with you wasn't my favorite song, but I knew it was a banger.

SPEAKER_16

I hated that song with you.

SPEAKER_10

Oh swear.

SPEAKER_16

I hated that song at first. I remember reacting to that album and I could not even play that song.

SPEAKER_10

Swear.

SPEAKER_16

I could not even play. Which kind of when I look back now, yeah, I wonder why. It's so funny because I believe that song was like the last track.

SPEAKER_10

It's the last track, yeah. Isn't it?

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, why did they just push it all the way to the back? I don't think they they themselves even believed in in the song, Seth.

SPEAKER_11

No, I think they did. I this is my own, this is just my uh because think about it, think about what I'm saying right now.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, it wasn't like was the song that uh was with you a single. No, it was it wasn't a single, right? Cool, because if it was a single, I would be like, all right, cool. Because it's a single already, people have played it, that was really what they pushed at the back, right? It wasn't a single, no one was talking about it. That was not even the song that was being pushed, yeah, right? That tells me that when they recorded that song, they themselves, Davido and Omale, didn't know that with you was gonna take off, which was the reason why they put it last track of the album. Because by that time, you're probably tired, you're probably your attention span is somewhere else and everything. I remember reacting to that album. I got to that, I could not even play at first. It was later on that the sound kind of started making sense in my ear and everything. If you get what I'm saying, yeah, yeah, I hated that song.

SPEAKER_11

I I have a different take too. I don't think they they knew that song was a banger. The reason why that was the last track is because outside the fact that that album in itself, let's be fair, the cohesion wasn't there, you know, the the transitions in terms of track one to track two, track three, it wasn't like the best, but it was okay. I think that song was a late edition. That was it. I think like two days before the album release, finally Omali dropped his verse, and they're like, okay, let's just add it, just add just add it. Because they've already had they've this is what I'm thinking. They've just had the compilation anyway, track one, two, three, because it's a ten-track album, right? And they go to nine, they're like, Okay, cool, we're ready to release the album. And Omali's just like, yo, bro, I've dropped the verse, you know. Okay, cool, cool, cool. And they ask, Where should we play? Whoever the A and R was, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

I kind of wish that that Davido can watch this, right? And tell us what really happened. Because two of us, we have two different scenarios, right? But only them know what actually happened with that.

SPEAKER_11

True, true.

SPEAKER_16

Because I would like to know. Because that song just went on to be the song of the album.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, but that's because it's up tempo, it's bubbly, you know, it's melodious, people who like to dance and stuff that's to me. For me, if you go on the album and check track track track eight, that's one of my favorite songs. Not in the product in the back. Not in the and that's the the the thing is the video is notorious for never pushing the songs that I really like. So I think there's a big video.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, but yeah, but that's very common with artists because the songs that the listeners probably love, it's not even a song that they really fuck with like that.

SPEAKER_11

You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_16

It just one emotion. Some song just means something different to them.

SPEAKER_11

I I feel like we can even play like five seconds of the songs we talk about for people to resonate. Song, not all of them, but it's a song, in my opinion, I think. Actually, I'm happy that he didn't really push the song. But the song did something, but you know, we live in a very pop-corn era where everything is like it's not exaggerated or made into a big situation, people will just I'm not gonna lie, it's matching right here.

SPEAKER_16

That's it, that Titan was marching though.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, it's underwhelming.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, yeah, you didn't like it.

SPEAKER_11

That was disappointing for me. Because my expectations when it's the video on the Chris Brown was always high. So that one was just it felt forced. It's like brother, they just wanted to draw it's all kindergarten, like it's you know that bruh. I'm like, this is like bruh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Why are we forcing it? Not in day is the one that when you hear it, you're like, okay.

SPEAKER_16

Nah, bro. This is a banger though. It's a banger. No, no, no. The song, the song that I just play right now.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, not in the it's my favorite of the album.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, see. No, no, see, like even offer me, bro. I push um, I I even enjoyed um CFMF. That was my tune as well. Then the the offer me with um Victor Eminem.

SPEAKER_11

That's the one they wanted to push because of Victor Emanuel. And I wish, and that song is a very good song. That is a banger for real.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, but I don't blame them though. Like, we you just took off, so they had to they have to fool it. You know what I mean? Like, they'll be stupid not to.

SPEAKER_11

Customers are always right, right?

SPEAKER_16

You get me, they'll be stupid not to. That was the same thing that happened with Ashake. Fireboy was the guy. Fireboy was the guy in YBNL at first.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, I get you, I get you. You get confused. I thought there was a song called Fireboy. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_16

I looked at us like, yeah, which song be this one? No, I'm saying, right? Yes, record labels, they they do stuff like that, right? They're probably banking on this business, but then this takes off.

SPEAKER_11

We're gonna make the peace.

SPEAKER_16

We have to obviously pivot to this.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, but I'm not gonna lie though. They backed because I'm I'm a big fan of um Fireboys music.

SPEAKER_16

So are you trying to say that they backed the right one?

SPEAKER_11

No, I'm saying normally record labels make mistakes. Yeah, they back the ones they think is right and it backfires. But this time it works. It works because to be fair, Fireboy has had his moment anyway. So now that Ashake has come into the scene and is having his own moment, there's no really a clash. So had it been Fireboy never had a moment.

SPEAKER_16

Are you sure that there wasn't a clash?

SPEAKER_11

No, in my opinion, I don't think there was a clash. Because think about it. Fireboy had a very good um first album. He's now certified as one of the you know, I would say one of the better artists in the scene. Then a few years later, Ashake came out.

SPEAKER_16

You think Ashake did not take Fireboy Shine from that?

SPEAKER_11

I don't think so. Because I'll say this, right? If me and you get signed the the same day. Yeah, yeah. Let's say I'm Fireboy U Ashake. Yeah, yeah, and I had my time within a week or so, then you had your run. Yes. I'll be like, yo, yeah, that's fine.

SPEAKER_16

Bro, listen.

SPEAKER_11

Bro, listen 2019, yeah, 2020, yeah. One, you had four to five years already, so I don't think he's taking a shot.

SPEAKER_16

It was just fireboy, fireboy was that dude, right? You know, he was the one you can tell why BNL was banking on man. You got what I'm saying? He had the payroll, he was doing the you get me. I believe he even linked up with Madonna at some point. You got what I'm saying? Yeah, like he was going. Yeah, Ashake took my man shine, bro. Yeah, bro. I swear to you, fam, because when you look at it, after Bandana, something happened. Yeah, you could tell that the label took all their chips and put it on Ashake. Rightfully so, rightfully so. At the end of the day, it's business at the end of the day, bro. You get me? It's not personal. We'll be stupid not to. You get what I'm saying? But if you tell me, yeah, that Fireboy would not feel a type of way, he's not been the same since then, bro. No, that's a good thing. I'm not saying, I'm not saying that he's not been putting out great music. That's not what I'm talking about. Yeah, because as an artist, you can you can be putting out great music, but if the machine, if the mechanisms are not there as they used to, or for whatever reason, it's not gonna it's not gonna bang the same.

SPEAKER_11

I I think the issue. If that makes sense, yeah, it does make sense. But the issue here is I know this has been uh a running take on social media, especially on Nigerian Twitter or whatever you like to call it. But I disagree. I don't think Ashake took a shine. They do two different types of music. Yes, sometimes melody might clash, but outside that Ashakare's run and the type of music would always catch fire, I would say.

SPEAKER_16

But but it hasn't. The same thing happened. I'll give you, I'll give you a very good example. I'll give a very good example right now. Yeah, a great example was quality music the Migos and Lil Baby. Yeah, Migos has been around. Bangers after bangers after bangers. Then we had the face. Then we had the face, yeah. All of a sudden, Lil Baby came out a couple years later, took over. Yeah, that was part of the reason why Migos then broke up. Because Migos started having issues with quality music, right? Yo, what the fuck is going on? Like you guys are banking on this guy, how about us and everything? You hear me? Of a sudden, I wanted to leave, all this kind of shit, right? It's the same thing with YBL. Because if I'm Fireboy, yeah, I'm not saying that you guys have not been supporting me, but there was a time Olami Day and Ashake were like puffy and biggie.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, because their minds were alike, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

Cool, yeah, cool. Whatever the reason might be, you are the boss, you are the boss. You might be saying something else, right? But I'm looking at your action. You are with this guy, you whatever you guys are doing, moving and everything, you're like Biggie and Puffy, baby and Lil Wayne and everything. You get what I'm saying? Now I'm in the shadows. You get my point?

SPEAKER_11

If that's how you saw it, fair enough.

SPEAKER_16

Bro, I'm telling you, bro, if if at some point Fireboy writes a book, yeah, he will say this.

SPEAKER_11

Again, I said, Oh, I I'm so happy I've been present for those conversations, especially on X. Yes, people have tried to say it is I still genuinely think if Fireboy is making a shaket type of music, then this conversation will hold water. In my opinion, again, this is just my opinion, just like topics opinion. So I'm saying I disagree because like I said, Fireboy came onto the scene, had a very good album, but again, he's the top five artists in the whole industry to have an amazing debut album. It's considered a classic, right? Because that's an amazing album. No one again, and so you know what I'm saying? You can put Ashake there as well having a classic album. So that's one for one. That's yeah, exactly. Then on top of it, it had 2019, 2021, two, four to five years ahead, way before. Before even Ashake came onto the scene commercially, because Ashake was making music already during the pandemic, I used to want to start. Me, I know they got it. Me, I know they yeah, so that was Ashake that they were calling himself, whatever they were calling himself. But the point is, that's why I don't think it was an issue. But for some reason, people just saw it that way because Nigerians have this thing where if you're popping, they think you can pop forever. It doesn't work like that. There's time and place for everything. There's time for when the sun will set, there's time for when the sun will rise. Do you know what I'm saying? Like uh we know what type of music Fireboy makes. It's so different to what type of music Ashake makes. So as a boss, I've done my bit with you, and I can tell that you're successful. Everyone knows you. In the industry, even outside the country, you've done a song with Ed Sheeran. We all everyone knows you. There's a new kid that's coming. Let's give him that same treatment, let's see how it goes. Now, thankfully for Ashake, his music is extremely relatable because he's not doing the ballad, the lover boy type of music. That I think those days are gone for the Nigerian audience. Now the Gen Z's or the younger kids, you know, us Gen Z, sorry, and the younger kids want to like vibe and dance. Ashake came up with a story of a villain type of look. The dreads, the choral voice, had his um glasses and his movie. Bruh, Ashakeh smashed it. Like whatever script he had, he smashed it. So I can understand why he was just on a roll. Do you know what I'm saying? So and Fireboy just decided to do it. And I love what Fireboy did not say, Oh, let me chase that type of sound. No, Firebust, I'll keep doing that.

SPEAKER_16

No, he still did his thing. He still did it.

SPEAKER_11

And he had a good album, though. No, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_16

No, see, no, see, he has not dropped musically.

SPEAKER_11

Damola was a good album.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, um, musically, he has not dropped. You know what I'm saying? It's just whatever machine that was behind him was not there, or it just didn't feel like it was there.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, no, to the oldest, it would feel like it wasn't there because because the attention is shifted to someone else. So that's that's how I like this.

SPEAKER_16

I would like to hear the stories. I would like to hear this behind-the-scenes stories one day. You know, hopefully, you know, when this artist gets older, thereof in, and then we can now hear the real truth. You get what I'm saying? Yeah, we can now hear the real truth.

SPEAKER_11

I don't think it's when they get older, I think when they become when they get or when they come out of the label, or what about the other? No, when they are less relevant, then that's when they'll tell stories.

SPEAKER_16

They'll tell the truth, yeah. Yeah, let's see what happens with that everything, bro. But back to as you were just talking there, you know. Last week we we talked about Temp's manager and everything, yeah. And about the whole essence and all that stuff. He he heard it the first time and he knew that that was gonna be a manga, right? Was there a song? Okay, you said you okay.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, what did I say?

SPEAKER_16

You said cap.

SPEAKER_11

No, I didn't.

SPEAKER_16

You said cap. I said tap. Okay, no, but you're contradicting yourself now. Well, yeah, because you said earlier that yes, that there are one of them songs that you're cooking in the studio, you know that's gonna hit. Maybe he heard essence and knew this is the one.

SPEAKER_11

So is Tem's manager an artist?

SPEAKER_16

No, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have musical ears.

SPEAKER_11

I'm going with with words. The words, what we said was, do you think these artists when they cook music, they would but he was in the studio though, when they were cooking it? With all due respect, he's not an artist. If you had said do you think the people in the industry, music industry, when they hear it, I'll be like giving some lie da-da. You said an artist, so I'm sticking to the word artist, right? So based on that, yeah, some of the artists know. Not the person I don't make music, I don't believe all the time.

SPEAKER_16

So you don't think that he he may not be making music, but you don't think someone like him might have musical years?

SPEAKER_11

100% someone like him can have. He probably even has he has the best. I said on this one though, I think it's a lot.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, I don't know. But is there a song that you heard it before it took off? Before it took off, I'm talking about it took off when pop older. Yeah. Before older, you heard it the first time and you were like, that's gonna be a hit, and it turned out to be a hit.

SPEAKER_11

There's a few, there's a few. Um juice, YC. I don't want to make any money. I had shy, don't you worry. That tune, what? Too much juice, too much sauce. I the bro, I played that song so much. Yeah, YC's mouth must be aching. I sweat down that tune straight. I knew it was a banger. Yeah, I knew it was a banger straight away. Odreva, I knew it was a banger straight away.

SPEAKER_16

Odrewa, but Odrewa, yeah, was a banger in our scene though. Odrewa was a banger in our scene, no?

SPEAKER_11

No. Especially when do you think it really Yeah, when Drake and Skepta jumped out, bro, the tune flew. You're right. How do you think Drake and Skepta even had the truth for that? Bro, the chin flew, man. Straight away when you say you're like, yeah, this is just such a banger. Uh yeah, I've said yeah. I would say it's DM um is uh what's it called?

SPEAKER_16

DM DMV. DMW Day. D M W Day, yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_11

Guys one what's the name of that song? Ah god, the name is the problem here. There's a few though, but one of them David O's one knew that oh yeah, this is gonna fly. Mayor Kong's Mayor Kul's tunes as well. I knew some of them were gonna fly. Just you when you hear them, you just know. You're like, Yeah, I see the ingredients he's used on this one.

SPEAKER_16

But some of the songs you're talking about just gonna bang down scene though.

SPEAKER_11

Mayor Kong's one.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, something on them songs just bang down our scene. I'm talking about okay, I'll give you an example.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, because I'm thinking, I've seen it on like Chelsea's Instagram. Bro, I'm talking about some songs we're talking about.

SPEAKER_16

Bro, I'll give you an example. I said here, I remember vividly well. We were actually about to record a podcast, an episode. Okay, yeah. This was Bonaboy in New York when he was in New York and everything, yeah. The first time he ever previewed Last Last. I remember that weekend, like it was yesterday. And I was watching him and everything, yeah. He previewed and everything. I was I was like, yo, this song is gonna be crazy. And I came on the pod and told the boys and everything. I said, yo, this song is gonna be crazy. It's gonna be crazy. And we talked about it and everything. You get me? Bro, that song came out.

SPEAKER_11

No, it was quite obvious with that one. Gone because of the interpolation, the sample. As soon as I heard it, I was like, yeah, this is gonna work because it's a cheat code anyway. Americans can relate to the to the to the beat, to the sample. Um obviously the older Nigerians can relate to it. So that's just a very quick cheat code, man. Like you can just it's like someone going to sample thong song.

SPEAKER_16

It's not guaranteed though.

SPEAKER_11

It's not guaranteed, it's not guaranteed, but we're talking about an artist like Burner Boy that's really good. I'm not talking about an unknown guy.

SPEAKER_16

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_11

Anytime Burner does a sample, he hit it. No, no. Yeah, check any of his samples they hit.

SPEAKER_16

Not not all of them, though.

SPEAKER_11

Okay.

SPEAKER_16

Not all of them. Mention one that's not because I can't think of one off the top of my head now. Um, what's what's that one that they did? Um City Boys. City Boys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That other one too went. Yes. You got what I'm saying? But what I'm trying to say is it's not every time you think your song is gonna hit that a song is gonna hit, because I can give you one of his that I thought was gonna hit.

SPEAKER_11

I know the one you're gonna say. But it took too long to release it. You want to say no get Lambo.

SPEAKER_16

Lambo, the yeah, the Lambo song.

SPEAKER_11

That's because the problem is he didn't he overcooked it. No, it's not even that. He didn't capitalize on the moment. He should have released that song as a single, but he instead waited for the album to drop, then included it. But that time the the the the the the the enthusiasm and the excitement because of everything that was happening at the time, it's gone already, you're absolutely right, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

Everything and and I also think that he he added bits to that song.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, yeah, he did.

SPEAKER_16

He tried to he he he kind of tried to perfect the song, and it took away the yeah, and then it took away the source for me. The end of the yeah, you know, because the song was raw. I remember him being on life and everything, him and die, his guy, and everything. And yeah, and they said they're beating to the drums or whatever, talking about singing and everything. I was like, yo, bro, drop this.

SPEAKER_11

And why the song even the live thing went up when flew or blew up in our scene, especially because of the situation that was happening at the time, innit? No, no, no. The sample. No, do no do no do no do no do. Okay, yeah, yeah. But uh, I've always said this, it isn't yeah, cheap code.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no, body, I don't bad man, bro.

SPEAKER_16

Bro, that song, I heard it. I said, fam, drop this now. But he just yeah, he just took I believe like about two months or something like that. Yeah, he didn't capitalize. Bro, he took a very long time.

SPEAKER_11

It's a snippet, you know, a life freestyle. This tune was so big that footballers in their dressing room in France danced into it. I'm telling you, dancing to a freestyle song is not out.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, I was like, yeah, this is telling you, he missed the ball on that one. He would have had a last loss um 2.0 with that one.

SPEAKER_11

100%.

SPEAKER_16

You know what I'm saying? But yeah, he kind of missed the mark and everything. That's you know, that's one of them songs that I thought was gonna take off, but they didn't.

SPEAKER_11

Fair enough.

SPEAKER_16

Do you have one of that?

SPEAKER_11

Um, I think okay. This one, I think it took off. Or if we're gonna use the metrics you're talking about, then I would say maybe it didn't. It's one of my favorite songs. Bro, there's no way you play that song in U.N. You know when I knew this shoe was such a banger. When I was invited to uh what's it called? Ashake screening of Lungo Boy and when we go to the place at uh in central London, what was it called? Harrods and uh the cinema opposite Harridge and I was like, yeah, yeah. So we we've gone in and the DJ was playing music he had he was spinning that on back and I was like, this is the bag. Um if you don't mind, I'm going to Whiskey's album. Which one? The last album. What's the name of that we have?

SPEAKER_16

No, this is the last album that he released. Are you talking about Brand Fears? No, no, no. Tia Cola.

SPEAKER_10

No no no. Um um first song of the album.

SPEAKER_16

Troubled mind.

SPEAKER_11

What? Is it the first song of the album Trouble Mind?

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, Troubled Mind. Are you talking about the the Morio album?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah. The first song was it was um or rather it is troubled mind. Yes.

SPEAKER_11

How am I thinking the first song? Wait, maybe I changed the wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh, you're right. Um track four.

SPEAKER_16

Bad girl.

SPEAKER_10

This is the one I thought genuinely would go because this show is such a bad girl.

SPEAKER_16

Let me broad the song again.

SPEAKER_00

I thought this shoe was gonna fly. I got from Barbada. Come on, up and come on, come on, up court, do any out of the uh I got from Barbada, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Bro, let's say this song, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Come and see that come and see people that see too like Uba.

SPEAKER_05

But you know what?

SPEAKER_16

I'm not gonna lie to you, yeah. Part reason why a couple of songs from this album didn't take off is because of Wiz Kid, bro. I'm telling you, he needs to stop that. He needs to stop that bullshit that he does where I beg, I beg I beg a beg it. He needs to drop that shit, he needs to stop that shit that he that he does where he drops an album. Yeah, he doesn't even talk about it, yeah. He doesn't promote it and everything. It's my because because, bro, a couple of songs. Yeah, yeah. I remember, bro, when I first heard this.

SPEAKER_11

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_16

Oh my god. There is no reason why. Yeah, this should not be an anthem, bro.

SPEAKER_07

Let's go.

SPEAKER_16

Bro, listen. Part of the reason why a couple songs, yeah, on Whiskey's last album, yeah, the Morale album, yeah, we're not anti, it's because of him. Oh, him. You get me because that's no reason. Yeah, where is the video? Where is the video of the song with Tia Cola? They didn't even push it.

SPEAKER_10

What do you mean? Did they do a video?

SPEAKER_16

No, that's what I'm saying. Oh, oh, oh, where is the video? Yeah, no, you gotta say like like he needs to get out of this habit, this cool guy habit that he does. I don't know whether it's the cool guy habit or whether budgeting, I don't know what it is, right? Yeah, you drop an album, yeah. You drop an album, you need to really you need to work the album, bro. You need to work it. Even Drake works his album, fam. You know what I mean? Even Drake works his album.

SPEAKER_11

Is Drake working his album right now?

SPEAKER_16

Fam, all the shit that that this guy invited all the streamers and everything. For real, I get what you do. You get me. This guy invited all the yeah, that's what I'm saying, like the rollout and everything. This guy invited streamers and everything. He's doing this, he's doing that, he's active on socials and all that kind of shit, right? Fam, you gotta do that. Where is the video of that song with Tia Cola, bro? That should be an anthem. Casey, case, case. That should be an anthem.

SPEAKER_11

That's an anthem, he has a video. No, no, no, no, he has an anthem, but that song was an anthem last year. Go wait when it came out, 2000 2024, going into 2025. It was a banger, it was the most stream song in Nigeria, especially.

SPEAKER_16

But my point is, bro, no one's talking about Nigeria, bruv. You get me. If if people are trying to bite off my ears, telling me that the whiskey is superstar, this and that, yeah, we should not even be talking about yes, Nigeria's important, obviously. You get what I mean? Because you know, home soil. But bro, we should be talking about international by now, bruv. When when it comes to these guys, I should not be hearing, oh yeah, it was a bang in Nigeria. I don't want to hear that, bro. That's me though.

SPEAKER_11

I know, I know, I know. For me personally, listen, at the end of the day, make your music, whoever it resonates with resonates, I resonates um with. I still think take pride in your song Bang in Nigeria. Yes, I get it. We live in a world where because it's not turning into a monetary thing with the Nigerians streaming stuff, so we're like, oh, let's shun them to the side. But without Nigerians, most of these artists will never be known. That's facts. No one will know you guys without those guys in Nigeria pushing you. Them SoundCloud days. I remember where I was when I saw um I heard Zinoliski in 2015. Soundcloud. Nigerians push, push, push. Brother boy, Nigerians push, push bro. All these artists that become international, just remember that Nigerians pushed you, you know. No one except maybe like attempts that obviously the Western world heard her voice and go, you know what? She's one of us, you know. She sounds like a bit of us. That's why. But the other guys they did a thing, man. Yes, I get it. Whiskey, people want him to do a lot of these things, but just remember, maybe that's his style. It works for him. He's probably looking at his bank account going, let's see, they want to do it. I'm not even talking about money. I mean, no, I know for him. You have to think about it from him for him, because we are being selfish if we want him to do stuff that will suit us. No, bro, he's the one artist, I don't care if he pushes album, just drop your music and go. It's fine, bro. It's totally fine. We get Jay-Z doing it as well to an extent. You know, he'll drop his album, go. All these artists, this rollout stuff. For some people, it's not them and they don't want to force it. It might be cringe. Someone like a wiz now, he's maybe one of those guys that goes back home and watches everything he does. So he if he doesn't want to go through that whole thing, like this is cringe, maybe he's like, I'm not gonna bother and do it, man. And I'll just leave it at that. But I get it, for people that really want to see him push the stuff, do all of these things, right? Just looking at the guy, you know that's not even him.

SPEAKER_16

Bro, I disagree with you though. Because if that's the case, yeah, he sit down, or rather, he sat down to talk about the new project he's got coming out with Ashakadinti. They sat down, did the whole was it GQ or something like that that they did the interview?

SPEAKER_10

Instagram.

SPEAKER_16

Oh, yeah, Instagram and everything. Like they sat down, you got me. He he was posting and everything. No, that's what I'm saying. But that's my point, though. You got what I'm saying? So he might as well say, nah, bro, that's not my style, you know, all this kind of shit.

SPEAKER_11

But this is what I'm saying again, guys. That means in that situation, he was actually selfless. He thought to himself, you know what, I'm not gonna do what I normally do for myself because my brother, yeah, Shakespeare is involved, and I don't want him to feel a type of way. So I'm gonna force myself to do what I really don't like to do. But if it's in my one where I have control of it, no one can say, Oh, you you did me wrong. I'm not gonna bother with it. That's probably what happened. And you know what, I'm not gonna lie. I would, I'm someone like that. If I'm involved in something with someone, I'll do bro, it's like birthdays. I don't celebrate birthdays, but if I know someone's birthday is happening, bro, I'll shout you out and stuff. But mine, no, no, I'm alright. I don't do it. And I that's what I think it is. I just feel like this is not early 2000s or um 2016 or 17. When an artist don't want to push, great because he's not a new artist, he knows he's a legacy actor now. He's he's probably you know, maybe he's probably he has the halo effect, which he thinks you know. I'm no he thinks he knows he's a star, so wherever he does, he's gonna fly. Like now, watch on his Instagram. This guy's posting Chris Brown's album.

SPEAKER_16

Let's talk about that then.

SPEAKER_11

He's posting because he didn't post his own album, so you can see that my point has been proven there. When he's mixing with someone else, he's gonna push their stuff, but when it's his own stuff, he probably struggles.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, that's bullshit, bro. I disagree with that bullshit, bruv. I disagree with that bullshit, bro. I disagree with that.

SPEAKER_11

I just think that's that's a pattern of it.

SPEAKER_16

It's probably his style and everything. I just agree with it.

SPEAKER_11

It's a pattern, which and to be fair, when we come about artistic, artistically, for his fans and audience, or whatever, the people that care that much, that's probably not good for them. For me, brother, just drop a banger, go. I'm fine, I will enjoy it.

SPEAKER_16

Let's drop it to Chris Brown then. Yeah, what do you think about the new song? Or before we talk about it, should we play it for people that have not heard it? Let's do that. Man on a mission. Yeah, man on a mission. That's Chris Brown futuring our very own white skid. We skid. Let's go.

SPEAKER_04

I'm trying to meet me now. It's me to me.

SPEAKER_16

That's my whiskey right there, bro. That's my whiskey right there, bro. That's my man. My man was walking all over that beat, bruv. He was doing hopscotch all over that beat, bruv. I'm telling you. I'm telling you, like, whenever I see him, I've been very impressed when it comes to the features when it comes to whiskey, right? Go listen to that song that he jumped on, um, Gunnar Song. He he finished work.

SPEAKER_10

I know, but people chose the banner boy because of the sexual explicit.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, that's that song finished work, and then he jumped on this one with Chris Brown, man on the mission and everything, and just we're just jumping all over that beat, bro. Finished it. You get what I'm saying? Like, whenever I hear him and everything, yeah. I've never met my man, I've seen him, but I've never had no conversations with him. But I'm just proud of the guy, bro.

SPEAKER_11

Why is kidding? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

Like, like you know, when you hear something be like, yeah, you get me. Just one of them.

SPEAKER_11

That's the thing. I don't I've said it before. If you if you hate or dislike the guy, I don't think the problem is him, it's you. There is nothing to really dislike about whiskey.

SPEAKER_16

I I don't know about all that. Because we don't know him personally again. We're we're speaking from music or okay, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_11

I'm talking musically, I'm gonna talk about his personal life. Okay, his personal life, he might be a serial killer, I don't know. Sorry, my boy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But um, it could anything could be, I don't know. But in general, I just feel like when it's musically, just listening to him, or maybe because obviously I grew up on his music technically that way. Like I grew up together with his music, so maybe I've seen his evolution, I've seen his growth, and I've seen his I've seen the changes, right? So I can understand, but yeah, it's a different guy. To be fair, the song is of is underwhelming, that's the truth. It's a very, very Chris Brown song. Yep, absolutely. It sounds like Call Me Every Day, all you have to do is reduce the BPM. It's Call Me Every Day. Um, it seems like he has a template for African artists when he wants to make music.

SPEAKER_16

And it always works.

SPEAKER_11

No, it always works because the key ingredient is Chris Brown. He has this way of bending his vocals to suit the beats, and it's just very nice because you're so used to how good this guy is. He can never make a bad song. I promise you, Chris Brown can come on a song I do, he should just cough melodically and he will make sense. Yeah, I'm saying, but is the song is underwhelming. It's not a song that I think would be a smash or I don't think it will.

SPEAKER_16

I don't think is there's the thing, right? You see the Chris Brown phenomenon thing with Afrobeats, yeah? For some weird reason, and I'm probably wrong, but I might be right. When an African person, apart from the song that he did with Sars and all that stuff, right? For the most part is an Afro-beat person, Loj Saz, not that yeah, for the most part is the Afro-beat artist featuring Chris Brown that goes, right? Because it's Chris Brown and where he's from, then the American audience, yeah, the song that he features the African artist in, for the most part, would not go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If that makes sense.

SPEAKER_11

That's not what they're expecting from him.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, you go, I mean, if that makes sense, you know, but um, I would like to see a video of the song. I I would like to, hopefully.

SPEAKER_11

I could tell you how the video goes, so there's no point. They should not make this girls, him dancing, choreographers. Uh it's the same thing, guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

But I was surprised, I'm not gonna lie. I was surprised to see him feature whiskey.

SPEAKER_10

Surprised.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, I was surprised. No, because of how close he is with Davido.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, but Chris Brown is one of them guys, he's always like when he first came to Africa, as they say. Well, when I say Africa, I'm talking about Ghana, them times. He linked up with Wiz first, you know. So they've always had that relationship. He's he's here to make music.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, but in the last couple years, he's really been like with Davido.

SPEAKER_11

No, yeah, because Davido and Chris Brown is known, they're friends, you know, they have mutual friends, they're very close, like that musically. And even maybe personally, they are very close.

SPEAKER_16

So, so why don't we why don't the people in the scene demand that Chris Brown picks a side?

SPEAKER_11

Why would they do that? Is he Nigerian?

SPEAKER_16

Oh, that's my point. Yeah, why do we do it to our own? Oh no, so so we have Chris um Davido Whisky Bonaboy here, yeah. Any any other artists from here up, we don't demand that that person picks a side, but any other artists from here down, we demand that they pick a side. I don't think it's good. And I think it's some of these artists, they are the stupid ones, yeah, that pick a side for a battle, for a fight, that they have nothing to do with. The only smart person is Odumodo Black. You get what I mean? He tries to, you know, people might call it kiss ass, whatever people might call it. You get me? But he knows how to play that game between them, or rather among them, right? But we don't demand that from any other artist from here up. Everybody saw Chris Brown do songs with Davido. Now don't uh now he has done a song with Whiskey.

SPEAKER_11

I think you've not met Nigerians before. If you've met uh if you've met few and obviously typical Nigerians, you know what you're asking is yeah, that's how they are.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, but but that's my point, though, whether they're Nigerians or not, and everything, yeah. Whatever problem that these three have is between them. If you're not involved, you're not involved. You get what I'm saying? But all these guys want to pick a side, yeah, and then they wonder why their musical career don't go as it should. Because you're picking a side on one person, now the opportunities that you would have had in terms of making music with people, especially if you're a very good artist and everything, now you're not gonna get it.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, but they they have to pick a side. I'll tell you why, because uh it's a cultural thing that sipped through the lives of people in in that country, to be fair. So everything in the country is pick a side, it's very cultish. Politically, people pick sides, religiously, people pick sides, yeah. Um tribally, people pick sides, everything in the country is pick sides, so that's what they're accustomed to. So when you pick a side, you feel like you need to do certain things to make sure that you stand out and make it known that you've picked a side, hence why a lot of people, upcoming artists, what they do is when you ask them questions, who's your favorite? They just don't say no comments. Oh, I like all of them.

SPEAKER_16

I don't even think it's a Nigerian thing.

SPEAKER_11

I don't think it's a Nigerian thing, you know, not specifically talking about Nigerian things.

SPEAKER_16

Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, because we saw that with Drake and Kendrick as well. You get what I'm saying? Like, so I don't think it's really a Nigerian thing. I just feel like sometimes it's a human thing, but I don't think it's a right thing to do, right? If you're not involved in a beef, right? Yo, you don't have to peek aside.

SPEAKER_11

I I I'm gonna lean more on the very Nigerian thing because I've just thought of so many things that have happened over the years, from even when I was a child up until now. Yeah, it's a very yes, that's a thing that's possibly common amongst human beings, but it seems to be that that's a very Nigerian thing, especially with the new artists. Upcoming artists and artists that want to have the visibility or they want people to see them, they find ways in hiding or making it known who they like or who they support or whatever it is. And I think it's so it's very prevalent now, even in this whole streaming, you know. Like people be like, Oh, let me go chill cut and they don't care about him, they're just doing it because of what they're gonna get from him, which is fine, but that's how the world works, I guess, for a lot of people. But I can't do that. You know, I just can't do that. So I know we really as Nigerians, I know we really want to involve the world. I know it's not a Nigerian thing, it is a Nigerian thing because that's how we've been brought up, you know. Some of us have had to grow out of it, like myself. Don't have to pick us out of anything, I really don't care. Do you know what I'm saying? But it is a thing because you would see people when you meet a Nigerian, they don't necessarily only here they'll tell you I'm a Nigerian. Over there, people tell you the tribe first before they tell you what country they're from. Even most people before the time. Oh, you mean back home? Even here as well, some of the people that have just maybe migrated over here, when you speak to them, they'll be like, ah, so you're your oh, so you're ego, oh you're this.

SPEAKER_16

I think I think to be fair, over here, I think people first of all mention Nigerian, and then when you now dig the EP, they'll be like, Yeah, I'm Uruba.

SPEAKER_11

Those are the people that have been here for a while, or were born here, or they've lived their lives here. Right. Talk about people that have just first of all, if you are you're Nigerian, they just pause first. Then if you now speak the tribe, for instance, let's say you hear someone say, Oh, so you are this, then the whole demeanor changes. It's like this could have just all stopped at the fact that I'm African, right? First of all, it doesn't matter where I'm from. Then on top of it, it's uh it's just uh one of those things. We with the Kendrick and Drake thing, they are the two probably most commercial rap artists at this point, obviously, taking Jole out of it because he's not part of the beef, right? So, of course, people love that. You're like, I want to pick it up, and Drake, I'm Kendrick, I'm da da da. But it ends there outside anything else. Nigerians take it to the next level, bro. They start to ch they start to chase, start to talk about your dead mom, start to talk about your dead dad. They take it too far.

SPEAKER_15

Compared to Americans.

SPEAKER_11

No, no, no, I'm not saying compared to I'm not American. I'm saying I'm just sticking to what I know about because of of course we know Americans move bad, of course. But I'm saying in Nigeria, they yeah, it's a cult.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, listen, I was I was like, oh shit. I was genuinely surprised that that he did a song with Whiskey and everything. Obviously, obviously, the both of them have about four songs, four four songs together, which you have a problem with that, then you not necessarily a problem.

SPEAKER_11

I feel like sometimes I told you way before when Chris Brown announced that always got some chocolate version or whatever coming out, and and I saw whiskey's name on it. Bro, I knew I knew the song would sound like this. It's like it's nothing special.

SPEAKER_16

No, you said you have a problem.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, I have a problem, that's what I'm leading to. So alluding to that to say the fact that not necessarily a problem, but it's like I'm tired of hearing that now. Even with David O, excuse me. Even with David O, I don't want to hear it. I want to hear something different. I want to hear Chris Brown and Remar, Chris Brown and Burner Boy, Chris Brown and some another good artist. You know what I'm saying? I just feel like yeah, yeah, I'm done with Chris Brown, David O, Chris Brown whiskey. I think we need to give a rest now. Maybe if they want to drop an EP, that's cool, but the sonics are not really different. There's nothing like wow, this is great. Right. It's nothing like that. So if you get like a wallet and a Nigerian artist, you can hear the difference. You can hear some sort of like variation in the song and the sound. Chris Brown is the same thing, bro. I swear, I just don't know. It's just, and again, coming from a guy that that's my top three artists of all time, you know.

SPEAKER_16

But I hear that, I hear that, I hear that. I do enjoy them, I do enjoy them still linking up, especially with kid. I am I I might hear you when it comes to Davido, because they got shitloads of songs together now. I think they got at least six songs together. I'm not thinking that's a lot. You got what I mean, but I'm kind of tuned because if we say that's a law, we still enjoy hearing Drake and Future. They got a whole album together. You got me?

SPEAKER_11

I don't. I've said that before. A lot of people do, a lot of people do, you get me.

SPEAKER_16

So it's just one everyone's, but I would like to hear personally, I would like to hear Davido Chris Brown Colabo, like an EP or something. I would like to hear that.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, that's as far as I think that's the final stop for me personally. Just drop the EP and then let's pack it in, guys. You have enough songs. Let's let it go now.

SPEAKER_16

You get me. I would like to hear that shit, you know. But you are talking about um whiskey, Bonaboy, all that stuff, right? Have we heard what um Brimo said about the big three?

SPEAKER_11

And that's my guy, you know. I was his host for his show when he came to the multiple. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.

SPEAKER_16

You like Brimo?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, man. Brimo is one of the even no even top ten greatest artists to come out of Nigeria.

SPEAKER_16

I can't stand him.

SPEAKER_11

No, no, no, I can't stand his behavior at the moment because I feel like is everything okay at home.

SPEAKER_16

I think I think he he definitely should be in jail to start with.

SPEAKER_11

Why you just lock mine up for what? Deadass though, yeah. For what he said. Yeah. Well if it's true, so what will happen? Should they still lock him up if it's true?

SPEAKER_16

No, what do you think? Oh, I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_11

What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_16

What he said um in regards to uh Adeculago's um wife.

SPEAKER_11

That's old, isn't it?

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, oh that was disgusting.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, yeah, absolutely. I thought you talk about the news.

SPEAKER_16

That was disgusting. Talking about someone trying to try and use their influence and power to sleep with a woman. That was disgusting.

SPEAKER_11

So then times when she was still making music, you know what I'm saying? Like that's that's a year and something.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, I heard that. I was like, I was like thinking, yeah, he should have been locked up then.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, in that country, they ain't locking him up.

SPEAKER_16

You get what I'm saying? Because you can't use your power to demand sex from from people, you get me, knowing that that's wild.

SPEAKER_12

That's a wild shit.

SPEAKER_16

And the fact, bro, and the fact that he was on camera saying it, yeah, feel very comfortable saying it, and and nobody said, bro, what the fuck?

SPEAKER_11

What does that tell you about the country, bro? And the people around it. There you go. That's it.

SPEAKER_16

You get me? So, since that time, before then, I had respect for him and everything, you know, when it comes to music and everything. I mean, chocolate city back in there, obviously. You go, I mean, but since then I can't understand him, you know. So the only reason why I'm bringing this up was because of what he said about um the victory. Let's check it out.

SPEAKER_14

And they want to remain forever more. And they have four for the children at home. All right, but are you at least what's calling it? Because if it's crap, I'm not just old guys who are not involved in.

SPEAKER_13

So are you saying that the big four, the big three are preventing the young ones from going up? Okay, so when you look forward to young boys, looking for it. So when you say that the big three, the big four should shift aside, are you saying that they should retire? Okay.

SPEAKER_14

I love you, I love you. So you can you can you can have connections and you people plug your stuff on the radios and you lock it down and you keep controlling it. It doesn't mean anything. Nobody likes your stuff anymore. Evolve, become something better.

SPEAKER_12

All right.

SPEAKER_14

I don't get played on radio that much. Okay. I still make a living off the music.

SPEAKER_11

I listen, I get where he's coming. Is the problem now is in um the way he's constructed his sentences. I feel like he's got a point in terms of like Remmer, not just REMA, like the younger people, maybe you know, they should be the ones in charge of the scene and all that stuff, but that's not how the world works. If you want the old people to shift, then get someone better enough to shift them now. You can't just say to someone that is making music, having a great time, telling them, oh bro, you're too old, man. Tell the people that are making music, the younger ones, to move me. Not you telling me to move. That's not how it works. You know, at some point Jay-Z saw the scene. Okay, maybe I'll take a little break. You know, I won't fully retire. Take a little break. There you go. And then someone else. That's how it goes.

SPEAKER_16

I I mean Do you think it's just music or is it the monopolization of the industry? You know, because in one shape or form, some people have been accused of trying to monopolize the industry. Whether it's business-wise, whether it's connection-wise, whether it's musically wise, um, if you cross them, yeah, they block things for you.

SPEAKER_11

I don't think anyone is trying to monopolize the industry, to be fair. These guys have got a staunch fan base. I don't think people understand how massive bro, this is no fan base anymore, bro. I'm telling you, it's a cult.

SPEAKER_16

It's a movement. Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

I don't know about the movement, it's a cult, bro. Where if you say something terrible and they know you where you live, brother, you're in trouble. So just imagine an artist having those type of worshippers. Of course, you're gonna be even if again, if you cough, you sneeze on a record, you're gonna be in top ten. Because there's a lot of people that would you know play your music and stream it. Now that obviously translates to the fact that a lot of people won't be happy about that. Because I'm thinking, how is this 50-year-old guy, 60-year-old, or 70-year-old guy is still doing it? Look, Michael Jackson is dead, bro. His songs are still in the charts, they're still going. Do you know what I'm saying? So that's the level, of course. No one can be compared to Michael Jackson, but even a little a fraction of it is what your big three and big four are enjoying. Yeah, that's what it is. So I don't even think they go that far to pay for payola and stuff, which I know to an extent they probably have done in the past, but for now I'm thinking big enough, I'm like someone drops a song, you go on X, two million streams in two hours, and you're like, bruh, is that what we're here for? You've got different blogs already going, uh he's done two million streams in 24 hours. You're like, they're just pushing this thing where you're like, oh, okay, he's still relevant, he's still relevant. So that's what it is for me. I think Brahmo has got a point, but he's not just worded it properly. No, I disagree wholeheartedly. No, he's but that's the thing. If you listen to everything he's saying, yeah, majority is him probably waffling to us. It's like, what are you talking about? Well, he's got a point in the sense where he said the younger ones should be at the top at the moment. I don't I disagree. He's wrong in saying Rema or any young person because those young people should be doing working hard enough to move the old people. There you go.

SPEAKER_16

It's not giving his earned, yeah, exactly. You go, I mean it's it's not giving his earned and everything, you know. And part of the reason why I disagree with Brimo in this point is why is it, yeah, we see that in hip-hop, we see that in RB, and now we're seeing that in Afrobeats. Why is it that we always want to phase out our legend early? Rock music doesn't do that, country music doesn't do that, right? These guys are still 50, 60, whatever, still touring and everything. You get what I'm saying? Now, at the end of the day, you know, let's allow these artists if they are still making hits and people are still interested in listening to them or going to see them and everything, they should carry on. If you want to knock them out, knock them out. You get what I'm saying? As the younger artists or whatever, find creative ways to push yourself forward. Ashake is doing it, you go. I mean, Tempse is doing it, Rema is doing it, you got what I'm saying. So this whole thing of oh, you know, you know, you should give words. No, I'm still in the game.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, thanks.

SPEAKER_16

I'm still competing here. You got what I'm saying? If you have a problem with it, take over. Make me retire. You got what I mean? I think if the game, if the scene, if the game does not retire you, unless you really want to retire yourself, I don't see any reason why you should step out of the road, bro. You get me now. Even though, in a way, I feel like, yo, like these new guys are coming. You get me? I don't believe in this, you know, the big trick forever is gonna be whiskey, Davido, and butaboy. I don't believe in that. You get what I mean? Like they rained when they rained, to some extent, they are still raining, but at some point, someone is gonna knock them off the chair. You get what I'm saying? And until that time comes, they are still competing. Yeah, so I don't think this whole thing of oh, step away and everything. And throughout that interview, he was shooting at Too Faced.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, yeah, it was Two Face who was talking about.

SPEAKER_16

Oh, yeah, he was shooting at Too Face Trap. Yeah, kids and everything. You got what I'm saying? Yeah, so he was shooting at Too Faced and everything. But I oh wholeheartedly disagree with him, bro.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, yeah, and also it's going, it's gonna be really hard to shift those guys because these guys are entrenched into the DNA of their staples, yeah. Most of these guys that listen to music, most of the younger kids and the ones growing up and the the alphas and all of that. So it's gonna be really difficult. On top of it, we live in a social media era where everything is in your face and what happens with visibility is out of sight, out of mind. These guys are not out of sight. Even if they're not making music, there's gonna be a content. So for instance, now we have this thing in Nigeria where once they step out to go clubbing, blogs will be like, oh, we skid with this person, da da da. We're doing the whole Western thing. You get me? So it's gonna be really difficult because we I still reckon, which is a shame in my own opinion. I reckon we're in 2026, these guys will still be here in 2031.

SPEAKER_15

We'll see, we'll see.

SPEAKER_16

We'll see.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, relevant proper relevance as well.

SPEAKER_16

Which again, hey, I don't I don't know about proper relevant, you know. I don't know. Because someone like Whiskey does not drop music a lot, right? No, no, futures and everything. He's busy, but I'm talking about his own album.

SPEAKER_11

You you don't need to drop an album, just drop singles, just drop music.

SPEAKER_16

I know, bro. Yeah, you don't need to. I don't know. Because when I look at someone like Chris Brown, first of all, I don't know how we skip this. My man just dropped an album in May.

SPEAKER_11

I know, I know. So this is a chocolate version.

SPEAKER_16

This is something you give me, and just dropped another album now.

SPEAKER_11

Brother, he has a studio in his house.

SPEAKER_16

I would like to know what sort of deal he has. I would like to know with RCA. Yeah, I would like to know the structure of his deal. You get my point?

SPEAKER_11

I think it's not even about the deal. I think Chris Brown really loves art.

SPEAKER_16

He draws, yeah, but you just dropped an album, like you you might love it, but you just dropped uh how many track albums again?

SPEAKER_11

30 or 40, something like that. Yeah, but remember, he has loads of songs in his drive.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, but my thing is how's the label allowing him to do that?

SPEAKER_11

Hey, label making the money, they don't brother. Would you care? Imagine you sign an artist and he wants to drop every day. Go for it, mate. Take your time, son.

SPEAKER_16

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_11

You you wouldn't be the one telling him, bro, it's 8 p.m. Are you not going to studio? Go, go, go. Do your thing, my brother. That's crazy. Yeah, man. What an artist.

SPEAKER_16

You think about it, that's nuts. Because I would just think about it this afternoon as I was listening to the new album. I said, I said, fam, you just dropped an album in May, bro.

SPEAKER_11

There's no it's funny how we copy everything else, but I haven't seen an artist that I'm aware of, by the way.

SPEAKER_16

In our scene or what?

SPEAKER_11

In our scene that I'm aware of that. Doing this. That wants to do this. That's my point. Just make music. That's what I don't care for. Cloud just wants to make music.

SPEAKER_16

That's my point. Like, and sometimes when we talk about some of these guys where we talk about the maneuvering, it's hard for me to swallow pause. Like, because I'm like thinking, fam, you know, look at Chris Brown. Anytime you hear about my man, bro, new music, new music, new music. Some of these guys, it takes them three years to drop and to drop something, and then when they drop is that my man is taking shots of my guy with it's okay. I didn't call nobody's name.

SPEAKER_11

It's okay.

SPEAKER_16

It's okay.

SPEAKER_12

It's okay.

SPEAKER_16

He gotta be out of credit about his name. You know, I think I think his last album was was a banger. What a he gave me, he just did not push it. He just did not push it.

SPEAKER_10

What an album, you know.

SPEAKER_11

But I was trying to see maybe I'll try it. I was trying to check an album from the album Mario. I was just trying to see like the track list. I can't remember.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, bro.

SPEAKER_11

Because I closed the app, I was like, Yeah, but but that but sometimes in life, yeah, emulate things. It's fine to emulate stuff, but just emulate other things as well. That's really good. I know just runner, this brand is there, bro. If I was an artist and I could make music, these artists, bro, they have enough money to actually build a studio in their own home. Oh yeah, yeah. Just build a studio in your own home and talking about just get busy. Talking about get busy. They're insulting him that at his age he's still dancing. I'm like, are you guys alright? What's wrong with Nigerians, bro?

SPEAKER_16

Which goes back to my point. What's wrong with you guys? We always want to phase out our legends before time.

SPEAKER_11

He's killed, bro. That music video, he killed it. What I can't look at Mr. P, take your flowers, man. You smashed it. That's a banger. That's a song.

SPEAKER_16

He's almost 50, right?

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, I think he's yeah.

SPEAKER_16

Bro, that song is a yeah, that's a jab. That's a jab.

SPEAKER_11

That's a good tune. That you get me.

SPEAKER_16

That's a job. I don't know why these people.

SPEAKER_11

Um also, I don't know if you saw you know who YC is, right? YC the rapper.

SPEAKER_16

Before you talk about YC, just before we leave the whole album conversation and everything, Wonder Code just announced that he's dropping a new album.

SPEAKER_11

Finally, hopefully dang.

SPEAKER_16

Finally.

SPEAKER_11

That last one was not it. You know, this one I have a feeling, you know.

SPEAKER_16

Finally, Jesus. He's one of them ones too.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, but with his one, I just feel like yeah, the scene is weird, it's very weird because everyone is fighting for relevance.

SPEAKER_16

With this situation, do you think it's laziness or do you think it's business?

SPEAKER_11

No, I don't think I think it's um for me personally, I think it's time, motivation. Well, time, motivation, and just opportunity. Because remember, the scene is extremely saturated, you know. Over 5,000 songs uploaded.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, but one is one is one of them artists where I don't care how saturated the scene is. There are there are some art that there are some artists that have uh what's the word I'm looking for?

SPEAKER_11

They've got the cachet.

SPEAKER_16

They are the cachet, they have the estate in the scene that when they drop, everyone will know. And he and he's one of them. I don't think it has anything to do with the the the scene being saturated.

SPEAKER_11

I think it does because those things I know people don't okay. I'm saying from a psychological part, from a psychological perspective. So um he dropped a song of King Maddie the other day, the other week. That's really good song. That's what it is. So for these people, remember, they're not young anymore. So not to sound bad, validation is a big thing for these guys. Trust me. Because you feel old, everyone reminds you that you're old. So when you drop a song, you want to see a certain type of movement to remind you of who you are.

SPEAKER_16

Respectfully, I'd I don't think one deco should be dropping a song with Queen Maddie.

SPEAKER_11

Why? Respectfully now. Hell no. King Maddy is cold, bro.

SPEAKER_16

What yeah, yeah. I'm not saying that she's not cold. She's she's a new artist. That's an yeah, she's still very young. She's she's still very young. You get what I'm saying? Like, like, personally, personally, I don't care. That's like Jay-Z dropping a song with Lil Baby. Everybody be like, dude, what the fuck are you even doing?

SPEAKER_11

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, it is, but Lil Bro, Lil Baby's cold, little Dirk is cold and everything. They're still cold, they're still popping out here, but there are some things I don't want to see.

SPEAKER_11

No, okay. Personally, I personally feel that's a false equivalence. Reason being the baby's type of rap is still rap, it's very different. King King Maddy and Wanda Cole. When you listen to that song, you'll be like, yo, this is music. They both are literally just vocalizing, showing off what it is they're really talented at. That's a great move.

SPEAKER_16

Why is it that Beyonce does not do songs with some of these very young singers and everything?

SPEAKER_11

Everyone knows everyone knows what Beyonce is like, right? So do people know what she is?

SPEAKER_16

Because there is something called taste and and and and um like aesthetics, right? Personally, the aesthetic of a one deco and a King Maddy does not really blend. Oh no, you go what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_11

I can I understand for you doesn't blend for me. It's amazing. You gotta mean that's an older person inspiring. This is someone King Maddy probably growing up, she heard a lot of a few of WandaCo's music.

SPEAKER_16

No, from her perspective, yeah, shit. I'm not gonna say no to that. Yeah, from her perspective, uh you go I'm saying, of course, it makes all the sense in the world. Like this guy's a legend. I would love to do do some music with him. You get me, but from his level, yeah, I don't want to see that.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, okay. If Wanderko was making music with some random person that we don't that people don't know, King Maddy, in my opinion, has to be the most talented female artist right now in that Nigerian scene. She is so good, it's unbelievable how she's not again. I'm not trying to compare with terms, but it's no way on earth she shouldn't be in that scene.

SPEAKER_16

If I see Wanderko with Terms, yeah, makes other sense in the world.

SPEAKER_11

Exactly. My that's my point. But they don't make the Thames and Wonderko would not give you that sonic sound that you need. We don't know, we don't know these are two geniuses, but but the song really is good. Now, if it was a bad song, I'll be like, Yeah, I get where you're coming from. That King Maddy and Wonder Co song is unbelievably good.

SPEAKER_16

No, understand what I'm saying, yeah. Like the song, I'm amazing. Yeah, but we know just the song does not really you need other ingredients to make sense. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, so when I look at a one day, if I open my eyes and see one day terms, terms of training one decore, or one decal featuring terms, everyone's gonna go crazy. Like everyone will be like, yo, you go, yeah, everyone's gonna go nuts. If you see one day whiskey or one day bonner boy, whatever, if features is to future, whatever the case is, right? But even in him, him alone, you know what I'm saying? Like, everyone will be like, yo, let's pay attention. You know what I'm saying? Like the aesthetics of a one-day King Maddie does not gel.

SPEAKER_11

Let's not say to you, and because you've not really explained what it is about the aesthetics, because I feel like even with the video, the slippers they did, that's first of all, one Nicole, whoever said you should have whoever said you should do it deserves a round of applause. Because I never thought of it until I heard the tune and I watched, I was like, this is actually a very smart move. Because you both are tapping into your worlds, you know. She's from that very the latter stage of sorry, the earliest, yeah, the earliest stage of or should I say the last batch of the Gen Zs. I would say. And Wanda Cole, there's some kids that really love King Maddy, they don't even know who Wandeko is. But as soon as they heard that you're like, Who is this guy? He's really good, he's a new commercial, and they from there they go and do their own research if they care to, right? Vice versa. They're people that are in their 60s that love one day call, and they're like, Oh, one deco has dropped the tune. Who's King Maddy?

SPEAKER_16

Oh, she's a young one one one deco has done in his 60s.

SPEAKER_11

No, no, no. Fans, yeah, like no, they're fans. I have aunties that are 60s that love one.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, but one call is still relatively young. We we are actually like this while are old.

SPEAKER_11

Okay, that's not what I'm saying, and I hope people don't misunderstand what I'm trying to say. So one deco, whiskey, and all these other guys, the people that are their fans, the older law, they're in their 60s right now. That is fact. You know what I mean? I'm talking 60s, even almost some 70s down to like 29, 30. I'm talking about core fans, people that kind of grew up in that section, that that era. 100%.

SPEAKER_16

Bro, yeah. When I saw when I saw um Kanye West doing a song with Treepy Red. Yeah, the video and everything. I'm like thinking, dude, what the fuck are you even doing, bruv? Good song, gimmicky. I was like, fam, what the fuck are you even doing? Young Miami, she was in an interview, her new song that I just dropped, and everything. That's everywhere. The song is everywhere.

SPEAKER_11

It's a smash, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

It's a smash. She said, I dropped a DM to Drake. I wanted Drake to drop on the song and everything, or rather to jump on the song and all that, right? He gave me a like and everything, but that was it. I didn't hear from him. You get what I'm saying? Like, that's a reason why. Real talk, you get what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_11

He can jump on never mind, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

But that's a reason why also people clown Drake for doing songs with who sexy red, you get what I'm saying? Like, people clown him for that. That's my point, right? No, but that's from different from sexy red's point of view, yeah. From Kim Maddy's point of view, yeah, makes all the sense in the world. This is a legend, boom. That's that's established. That's true. That's gonna be my catalogue, all that shit. You get what I'm saying? But from the legend's point of view, you might love this artist, nothing against them, amazing, all that they're doing their thing and everything, yeah. But we don't want to hear you with them, we don't want to see you with them. That's what I'm saying. It just doesn't make sense.

SPEAKER_11

You're absolutely right, because that's you don't want to. That's what I'm trying to say. But there's another false equivalence here. We're talking about sexy red, she's not palatable to a lot of people. We cannot listen to our music around kids, for instance. So, of course, I see why people are like, Well, why is this guy?

SPEAKER_16

Because but that's kind of song that uh Drake does as well. No, no, no. Like, are you gonna play Drake Drake's song in front of kids?

SPEAKER_11

I can still play Drake's songs in front of kids. I'll tell you why. Because Drake's songs are not sexually explicit the way sexy red does it. Sexy Red is right. I promise you, you leave your comments, you see what I'm talking about. These are these are the things why people are like, Yo, what are you doing with this? Because she's seen as the bottom. Not me, I don't think she is, but she's seen as the bottom barrel of what an artist should be like. Cool. King Maddy is not even anything close to that, right? In the sense where King Maddy is a vocalist, one they call is a vocalist. It makes all the sense in the world. A young artist with someone that we consider a legend, now passing the mantle down to this young artist, it's an amazing thing, in my opinion, anyway. The song is good. I think they should do more of that. Not necessarily Wanda Call and King Maddy, but like having this legends and younger artists, because that would actually even be the best thing to do if because if they can't link up or squash the beefs, just go, you know, put the um shine the light on another artist. That again, like I said, when you listen to the tune, you go, Oh ra, this is sick, you know. But I understand where you're coming from, you're talking about aesthetically and what it is, but King Maddie, you know, watch out for that lady, bro.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, but she has potentials, and I'm not I'm not denying that. I'm not denying that. No, she's gone past potentials. You get me. I'm like, I'm not talking about her talent, her talent is there. Yeah, you get what I'm saying, but but that's what we need our legends to be.

SPEAKER_11

Be next to people that have got talent, yeah.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, yeah, but yeah, but I don't want to see you as a 40-year-old man or 40-something year old man doing songs with one decoyable 40. Okay, okay, cool. However, yeah, you get me. However, he is and everything. You get what I'm saying? Like, I want to see you with Tems. That's what I want to see you with. You get what I'm saying? I want to see you with Tams.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, Thames is already a solid star. We need you with those kind of people. Yeah, I don't want to see you with there's no ego, there's no too many red tapes. We want we want our legends to tap into those into that world and those young artists to tap into the world. We don't want to know this red tape or that's not red tape. It's gonna be bare red tape to do music with Temps. We know this already.

SPEAKER_16

No, I don't think it's a red red tape thing, nothing. That's a reason why the likes of Beyonce, that's a reason why the likes of Jay-Z, that's a reason why even Drake to some extent, um, Kendrick to some extent. Um, you got me like that's a reason why some of them people as my artists because it just doesn't make sense.

SPEAKER_11

It's it's to you, it doesn't make sense. But a lot of people feel the way I feel. That's what I'm saying. We'll see in the comments because people forget that a lot of the reasons why this artist sometimes can't do songs. Shout to I won't say your name, but shout out to my artists. Yo, there's a lot of red tapes with this big artist, it's not an easy thing. We know Beyonce keeps to herself, so we know let's not pretend like yo, Beyonce doesn't want to look nah nah nah. We know what you're doing, it's cool. Kendrick, we know all these big artists that you think they don't want, bro. They're on their phones as well, going this artist is sick. Yeah, of course, of course. Nobody said that that's not that's what I'm saying, but they can't do it because they know what it is, they know the red tape, they know the stress, they know the let's not just do it, man. Okay, cool, cool, cool. But that's what it is, but okay. Shout out, shout out to I just hope someone like a whiz would do it, someone like a butterboy would do that, someone like a well, David Dill tries to be fair. Outside that, I don't know.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, all right, cool.

SPEAKER_11

I hear that though.

SPEAKER_16

Before we leave on everything, yeah. What what do you think about the World Cup so far?

SPEAKER_11

Amazing, fantastical.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, great in what way?

SPEAKER_11

Everything. I thought, okay, I get it. The country hosting it, okay, just the one country hosting it, people are having hissy fits about which is fair. I thought that would be a dampener on the whole thing, but it's delivered, you know.

SPEAKER_16

No, it's picking up, it's picking up, it's picking up picking up from the first game.

SPEAKER_11

I said, oh, we're in this together. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What? The leg break yesterday, that one got me. But yo, this world cup has got everything, it's got more red cards than we've ever had anyway. You know, we've had situations, we've had moments where the Knicks versus the World Cup people versus the bro. Oh, listen, it's been amazing.

SPEAKER_16

This year has been a good year for sports, yeah. Like the Knicks with Arsenal, like, like bro. I'm telling you, bro. No, I know, but two two teams, big CTs, all that makes sense. Two teams that haven't won in decades. You get what I mean? Like, it just one of them wasn't it's biblical when you're really, really deep it, you know. So it's definitely worked FIFA. At first, I was like, no, America, because of the whole political climate around it. And funny enough, I was having this conversation at the Baba Shop and all that when I went to get my shape up and everything. Yeah, I said the reason why I didn't I don't like America hosting it is America is in too many beef, right? So America and Iran are beefing, and we see what what they are doing to Iran, or rather the football team and everything, yeah, they are not on a level playing field as everybody else. Yeah, because because of their beef, they have to stay in Mexico, flying that day to come play and leave immediately. Like, what the fuck are we even doing?

SPEAKER_11

But I'm no, they're settling stuff now with Iran and the yeah, but still though, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_16

Like, that's not fair. Now, obviously, um, Russia as well is not in it because they have been sanctioned by all those people. You get what I'm saying? So when I look at it, it's just too many politics in football. FIFA cannot say shit. The FIFA president is coming out and saying, Oh, we cannot control what countries do. Yes, you can, because you did it when Russia hosted FIFA Walker. Yes, you can. Infantino is he's an idiot, he's smoking la la. You know, which in la la which is the reason why, honestly speaking, I would prefer middle tier countries hosting FIFA than a country like America, because a country like America, FIFA obviously would not want to tell them what to do because it's the world superpower, but FIFA needs to take control of its tournament and obviously organize it properly and everything to make it a level playing field for every other country and all that. You know what I mean? That's the reason because I remember when Qatar hosted in 2022, everybody was criticizing Qatar and everything, but nobody can say shit to America, you get what I'm saying? That's my point. But apart from that, but the tournament itself, the football itself, all great. You got what I'm saying, like it's so open that you don't even know. Like teams that you think that are gonna come into smash and everything, everyone is drawing or losing and shit like that. You got what I mean? The only two teams, I'm not gonna lie to you, right? From all the games I've watched, the only two teams that scares me, because obviously I'm supporting England, obviously. You get what I mean, is like France, France and Argentina.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, the two every other team is beatable.

SPEAKER_11

The finalists from the last World Cup. So it's not surprising. There you go. There's no surprise. For me personally, I feel like if I have this is my house, you've approached me, you've asked me to host something for you. Yes, I can tell you what to do. That's how I see it. I disagree though. No, no, no. This is where I'm leaving. Into that's how I see it, right? But when it comes to sports, it's a different thing. I feel like when it comes to sports, you have to be more open-minded because they're gonna be different countries, different people coming in, especially for a country that's currently in war. I know, but that's the thing on two fronts. Yeah, the problem here is FIFA made the miss no mistake, really, because of course this happened eight years prior. But when this whole situation started, they should have looked for like a plan B of another country to host it, in my opinion. I feel, but I know the next World Cup, of course, 20 three would be in Morocco, Spain, and I just feel like I just feel like Trump really wanted to get involved in this.

SPEAKER_16

I mean, Trump showbiz guy, you got me. I feel like he really wanted this to happen during his tenure.

SPEAKER_11

He had no control of that. America was already chosen way before this time.

SPEAKER_16

But but the thing is, as this whole war thing started, oh yeah, I think uh FIFA should have been like, let's let's do it somewhere else.

SPEAKER_11

If as a country, it would be hard for you to go, oh yeah, you can go, don't worry about it. Yeah, I know we're not in the best place right now because it's bringing a lot of money to the economy.

SPEAKER_16

Is it what like like people are are getting visas are getting denied left, front, and center.

unknown

What?

SPEAKER_11

Yes, I know visas are getting denied, but the guys there buying tickets, bro, a thousand pounds for a ticket, and and the stadiums are not just randomly, it's not like two people are in the stadium, these are thousands of people.

SPEAKER_16

I think, I think, um, just before the the tournament started and everything, FIFA was even talking about. I saw this on the internet that um they were not really selling tickets like that.

unknown

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_11

The people selling in the black market as well, like, but like I said, you have to be involved in sports to because obviously it's not a sports podcast, but the truth is, yes, if they're talking, they come when they say when FIFA say things like this, they're comparing it to the previous cups. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But if we're being real, if a ticket is a thousand pounds and people are still paying, bro, that's a whole lot of money. And we're talking a lot of people are turning up to the stadiums. These stadiums are not empty. Let's say it's 60,000 capacity, at least 30,000. 30,000 are in there. Then on top of it, those people would have to leave the stadium, go out to the streets to buy food, accommodation. A lot of money is flying right now in America.

SPEAKER_16

No, no, no, no. Of course, of course, of course, of course. America's having a good time there for you know, the Knicks winning. Oh, yeah, even more older, older, especially New York as well. So, what team so far do you think? You know, if you're to pick, Messi, Messi.

SPEAKER_11

Everyone knows. If you know me, you know that Messi, I'm just happy he's proven it to you guys again. I know some of you are blind, you don't want to believe it, but he's the greatest ever, bro. For obviously, taking away Maradona.

SPEAKER_16

I'm saying Mama just banged that hat trick, bro.

SPEAKER_11

Messi is playing like he's 25 years old, bro. You know, it's unreal it's just unreal. There's no way you can even hate that guy. I'm sorry, something must be wrong with you. When people do this, Messi, Ronaldo. No, it's clear. Ronaldo is playing, he doesn't care. He wants to create records for himself, he doesn't care about his team. Because I know if I was Ronaldo, I'll be like, boss man, I know I run this team. Can you put me on every 10 minutes or 20 minutes to the end of the game? Because I need the other guys, because these guys are playing for Ronaldo. That's the sad thing. They're looking for Ronaldo instead of them just simple pass. Man is there looking for Ronaldo there, just a simple pass down the line, bro. Into space, of course. But look at how messy is oh god, yeah. I'll be honest with you. I watched, I was really late. I'm watching the game and I felt teary. I go, I'm gonna be. Yeah, my man is different. My man is different. I'm watching, I'm going, it's not real, bro. What the heck is going on here? Messi, man. What a what a what a human. My man is different.

SPEAKER_16

It's different, different vibes, it's different. I mean, shit. If Argentina fools around and win again, listen, no, bro. Come on, that conversation is dope.

SPEAKER_11

Let's go. I'm rooting for England, though. I'm not sure. I know we're gonna get to the semis, won't win the World Cup. That's fam.

SPEAKER_16

We don't know with the way these games are going, though. First of all, I'm happy that Nigeria is not here because honestly speaking, what African country that that is playing right now will you say that Nigeria is better than Morocco, current Morocco team, will smash the spigos. Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Is it the same Morocco that we played?

SPEAKER_16

Yes.

SPEAKER_11

It's the same Morocco that couldn't beat Nigeria. Okay, fair.

SPEAKER_16

Bro, did you watch the Morocco game?

SPEAKER_11

This is this is this is the thing here. Please. Alright, guys, let me just explain to a lot of people. So, right, every occasion brings a different beast in people, right? The World Cup is I see why it's the holy grail for a lot of players. Your mindset changes, how you play changes, what you say changes, how you even behave changes, right? You're playing against Brazil, you're not going to come with your B game, C game, D game, you'll come with your A game. So of course Morocco played well. It ended as a draw, they played really well. Now I promise you, the next game Morocco plays, they might they won't play as well as they played against Brazil because that's how life goes. Life goes if I'm playing, if I'm gonna fight against a professional boxer, I'm gonna put bro, I'll put my best foot forward because I need to prove a point to this person that I'm playing against. Seeing as we've been termed African Brazil and we're playing against the actual Brazil, of course I'm gonna put my my best foot forward. I know that Nigerians, most Nigerians don't probably follow the Super Eagles with our bruh. Yo, forget Toku, bruh. Even Morocco tells you Nigeria is a solid team.

SPEAKER_16

Okay, so why didn't they make it?

SPEAKER_11

They didn't make it because of poor, poor governance. It's bro, everyone, okay. I'm I'm saying this because I'm a football guy, bro. I've watched every Nigerian game, I follow everything, and I'm telling you for free, until Eric Shells came and took over Nigeria. It was shambles, bro. Shambles. I'm thinking if Eric Shell had us from the time when we started the qualification, of course we'll go through. It's a shambles, but you will never know, right? Until we meet again. You see this next world cup? Shout to my boy. Um um what's it called? The boy that got signed to Brighton, Johan Zadok. What a bowler! Nigga have we have so many good players. Just imagine we had good governance, but anyway, don't worry, guys. I'm walking behind the scene, I'm working hard. I will change the FA. Don't worry, we're coming. We're bringing bowlers.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, let's go. Bruno Lens. Come on, England, come on, England. Let's see what happened, bro. I'm rooting for England heavy though. You get me the last game we cross here.

SPEAKER_11

Three teams that should win, in my opinion. England, of course, Argentina, yeah, and for sure. I hope Japan gets well. I love Japan.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, trying though. They're trying. What's a better team? What's a good team? But America's playing well as well.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, they're winning at the moment, actually.

SPEAKER_16

America's playing well, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Of course, they're home, so obviously the ginger. Ginger oh ginger.

SPEAKER_16

America's playing well on everything, you know. And the who's bro, fam, it's been a good one.

SPEAKER_11

Yep, yep.

SPEAKER_16

Great conversations. Obviously, happy to see you this week. It's been hot. I'm telling you, terrible, man. It's been it's been so hot on everything.

SPEAKER_11

Tomorrow, I'll be on the football pitch, even gonna be hot.

SPEAKER_16

Yeah, bro.
