This week on the podcast, we're breaking down the biggest stories shaking up Afrobeats and African entertainment.

A viral video appears to show Wizkid walking past media personality Shopsydoo (Adesope Olajide) without acknowledging him. Was it intentional, or is social media reading too much into the moment?

We also discuss the controversy surrounding Nota, whose comments claiming that South Africans helped make Nigerian artists famous have reignited debate across the Afrobeats community and sparked calls for a boycott.

Finally, we talk about Carter Efe, who has officially been selected for Kai Cenat's Streamers University 2026—a huge achievement for Nigerian content creation and a sign of Africa's growing influence in the global streaming space.

Join the conversation:
• Did Wizkid intentionally snub Shopsydoo?
• Do you agree with Nota's comments?
• Is Carter Efe's selection a game changer for African creators?

SPEAKER_11

Bro, I'm having a look on the internet right now, yeah. I just had uh um I just had a pop-up on my phone. Um David's got a new song coming out sometime this month with number three. I said number three, number eleven.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

I saw that earlier today as well. That's real cool though. Yeah, man. And then and then obviously you can see Shanks and everything, just feature in the whole thing.

SPEAKER_13

But uh that's a good um piece of content, really.

SPEAKER_11

Oh no, no, no, he did his thing on that. He did his thing on that. I just can't um yeah, listen, I'm hyperin though. She did his thing, Shanks.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like the fact that it looked organic. Yeah. Davido walked into the studio, he exchanged pleasantries, and it was really organic. It wasn't fake. We know obviously it's produced, obviously, but it didn't give that vibe, which I like.

SPEAKER_11

Nah, that's cool though. That's that's really cool. Listen, it looks like David is beating everything. I did um I didn't ask you about the new song that he dropped with uh with this guy from South Africa. Oh yeah. Um what's the number of the song again? I know who I be type thing.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, it's alright. It's alright.

SPEAKER_11

It's a cool song though.

SPEAKER_13

If that's the um the leading single for the uh album, then fair enough.

SPEAKER_11

I like the chorus of the album though. I like the chorus. You get what I'm saying? Like, it's just your typical that's about why I like Amma Piano and everything. Yeah, it's very simple. Just repeat the words, then the beat is gonna do what the beat is gonna do.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, Amapiano is heavily on beats to be fair. Heavily on beats. I know. Uh shout out. Okay, this is one time Nigeria deserves credit. When Amal Piano started started, I mean, when it started filtering through to the to the masses, it was just beats. Yeah. Then they realized wait, hold on a minute. You know, Nigerians, we like to jack things. I don't like wait, these guys are taking the piano beats and they're adding lyrics, and rah, people are interested. Okay, all right. We that started this now. Let's not to address the adding lyrics to this stuff. You're gonna love it, man. Let's do something with it. Shout out to Nigerians for inspiring and as well, encouraging, bro.

SPEAKER_11

They're gonna come for you, bruv. Who? Hey, who's coming for me? Them South African people, man. South Africans, they're gonna come for you, bruv. You gotta say for for giving for giving credit. They're gonna be like, yo, Nigerians didn't do nothing, it was us. We did everything ourselves.

SPEAKER_13

South Africans, camera on me. Listen, yes, it happens everywhere in the world. You start something, someone else would inject a new idea into that thing, and you'd be like, hmm, I never thought of it that way. Okay, you know what? I started this, this is my stuff. Let me have it back and then use what you injected, the idea you injected, and I'm gonna make it better, which South Africans did. Once they cracked that code 5880, and they said, wait, we can fully make songs with this, not just beats, you know. That's when it becomes yeah, when you add lyrics to a beat, it becomes a song, right? Once they figured they kicked the Nigerians out of that place real quick. They said, get out of here.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, but with GG's, or GG's. All right, guys, it's time to go. We got this now. Yeah, yeah. I'm telling you. Leave now. You get me. Cold security.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, Nigerians love that.

SPEAKER_11

But I'm not gonna lie, I'm looking forward to to this album that I've got um coming up on everything. It looks like so far, so far, I'm liking the direction that he's going in regards to the promos, you know, how he's putting out the the songs and the videos and everything. Like, it looks like there is some sort of a direction.

SPEAKER_13

Unfortunately, and I don't care who it is, right now, this the music space, I'm so jaded, I don't look forward to anything. When it comes, of course I would listen to it, I'll vibe to it, but those days are gone, man. Is it? I feel like the fact that we don't really have a structure actually just killed the excitement. Like, I'll give you an example, a perfect example. Football. No matter what it is, you can't get tired of watching football, you can't be jaded at basketball. All the sports have got structure. It's exciting, you're looking forward to it.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, but there's a difference though. What's the difference? The difference is you have uh an organization which comes out to structure, right? You have an organization that is literally running everything. So all the teams, all the clubs, or whatever are within this umbrella, whether it's FIFA or whether it's UEFA, right? Or in music, you can't really have that. You cannot have an organization that is running everything. You know what I'm saying? Because of the way it is. So everybody is trying to build their own shit, right? Now, a place like America, we see what happens. There's like pros and cons when it comes to it, right? Because you have the universals of the world, you have the Sunnis of the world, right? They monopolize the whole system, right? Which the money kind of stops here, it doesn't really flow down, the resources and everything. So everybody else is complaining, you know what I'm saying? So there is a pros and a cons when it comes to it. In the African or the Nigerian system, you can tell it's all man for themselves, right? So everyone is still hustling doing their thing. Some people are gonna get it right, some people are not gonna get it right, some people have the resources behind them to get it right, some people don't. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_13

But just to clarify, I'm not talking about the format. Okay. So when you talk about the organizations, UFR, that's that's a format thing. I'm talking about structure. That's the difference here. I'm talking about just pure structure, I'm not talking about the formats. Now, the format would tell you, yes, of course, FIFA is the governing body, blah blah blah blah blah. In America, there's something similar to your FIFA, which is not obviously the closest thing would be your the guys that give the awards, the record labels, the big companies and stuff. We don't even have a structure in so-called Nigeria. So that's what I'm talking about. The structure where things are in in such a state in it could be in a bad state, but regardless, because there's a structure, you're looking forward to it. Yeah, like we generally see young artists coming, they're getting pushed, you know, people are doing things, they're they're making music for themselves as well as for the fans and the masses, but yeah, it's different.

SPEAKER_11

Our problem has always been our problem has always been maintenance and not building. What do I mean by that? Right? People always forget in the 90s, 2000s, and everything, yeah, that was a bit of a structure than what it is today, right? You have, you know, what are the headies? You have um star, star thing, um the alcohol.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, the Star Trek thing.

SPEAKER_11

Star Trek things. There are different things that was pushing the music forward at the time. But I just kind of felt like as we started championing the whole Afrobeat of the world, I think the popularity and the money distracted everybody and divided everybody. Because when a harmful people now get paid, they don't give a fuck about the whole shit. You know what I'm saying? Because now they are shooting for the stars for the international market, they don't care about you law. You know what I'm saying? Because I believe it was the heady president that I saw the other day in an interview, and and he was lamenting about the whole thing. You know what I'm saying? Because there is no reason when the Latino awards, when they do their worst thing and all that, you see all their biggest stars turn up there, right? There is no reason why heads, however you feel about the awards show, I know that um a lot of artists have a problem with it, but there is no reason why doing awards the biggest stars that we have cannot show up. You get what I'm saying? You can walk and chew them at the same time. You can go to headies and still go to the Grammys, you get what I'm saying? But a lot of these artists, once they get a bit of a popularity here, they don't want to come here no more. Um, I think to be fair, it's it's so so so so um that's why all these um organizations died off. Because they are not getting the faces, and if if you cannot get the faces, you cannot get the sponsors or the ads or whatever it is, because all these stars, you know, when you when you look at it, it is you wash my hand, I wash your hands, right? So we pushed you guys, we help you guys to get here. Now you guys are the faces of the culture, whatever you want to call it, right? So we are doing this award night or whatever it is, right? When you guys come, the international eyeballs are gonna follow you guys to come here. You get what I'm saying? So we help each other grow, but that's not the case. So a lot of people are building stuff, but no one is maintaining it. If you get what I'm saying, yeah, and and it just fizzles out, it just dies off.

SPEAKER_13

For me, it's quality control. I'm sorry, man. I don't blame the big artist because I think I see it this way there's a house, it's really it's big. This is my house, or should I say my family house, and normally I'm always in other people's houses because it's beautiful, they cater for me a certain way. And also, those houses I'm going to, they do a lot for my image, they do a lot for my cachet, they do a lot for my celebrity celebrity status. But when I go back home, I'm having to carry them. I don't want to carry no one. That's one. Two, these artists will come to anything that is really good. That's what it is, because it's all man for themselves. You coming to the head is it's not adding no value to you as an artist. That's facts. Because the thing is not well organized, it it's it's not well, it's not prim and proper, it's not been looked after. So, what the heck am I coming there to do? Yeah, that's just the fact. You know what I mean? If it's beautiful looking, it's just the same way like the Premier League. The Premier League, if I'm being honest with anyone watching now, it's the most competitive and it's the most, should I say, most commercial league. The English players are not the greatest, and I'm saying that they're not, but because of the you know, the quality of the foreigners coming in, making us such a competitive league, and on top of it, the heavy PR that goes is crazy, and that's why we can't compete with the Grammys and stuff like that. Because naturally, one problem most Nigerians already know is we don't know how to look after stuff, and when we start something, we don't know how to keyword, maintain it. So it just doesn't make any sense for a burner boy to say I'm going to I'm gonna miss it, I'm gonna catch my flight to go all the way to the Hades. Yeah, when in Hades you they have one this year, they don't have one next year. They're talking about sponsors, yeah, yeah, but it's tough, it's tough.

SPEAKER_12

It's crazy, man.

SPEAKER_13

It's tough, and also you treat the music industry as you know in this industry anyway. They treat it like pizza. Everyone wants to cut their own slice and eat fast food, isn't it? Yeah, it's sharp, sharp, man.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, it's so crazy. We just started and just jumped straight into the deep end, and that's right. That's what it is, man. That's how you're saying how you doing, my guy.

SPEAKER_13

I'm alright, man.

SPEAKER_11

It's just quite hot, man. Listen, I am sweating in here and everything, yeah. Every single year. I promise myself, bro, this year I'm buying AC, bro.

SPEAKER_13

You said that three points away.

SPEAKER_11

This year I'm buying AC, bro. Because boy, it is crazy, you know. But apart from that, man, I'm good, bro. I'm good. You know, do you think it's coming home? Or no? Football. Football.

SPEAKER_13

As much as I want it to come home, I have to be realistic. I'm a very objective guy, man. See the way France are playing? It's gonna be difficult, man. If we if we that's if we take them to penalties, then yes. We do what Argentina did when I have a chance to France 2022 when my goats may see when he achieved the unachievable. You know what I'm saying? That's what I'm talking about. That's what my goats, that's what my goats. All the goats I have, they always do that. Yeah, you put them in the deep end, they find a way to, you know, wiggle out. Yeah, they always come out on top.

SPEAKER_11

But I'm not gonna lie, Argentina has been like it's been two close calls so far. The two last games that they played and they were just right there.

SPEAKER_13

That's what champions do.

SPEAKER_11

They were just right there, two close calls, you know.

SPEAKER_13

Hit me, I say, Don't worry, no panic, guys. Tranquilo, tranquilo, tranquilo. We're gonna come back, it's fine. Bro, I was so sure they were gonna win that game. I've never been so sure in my life. As soon as I saw two nil, I was like, Messi's to that. If I'm your saying that right now, I don't think I don't think it was that open. I can show you. I I I always again I make a prediction before the match.

SPEAKER_11

Right.

SPEAKER_13

That's how sure I was. 2-0 down. I was like, I wasn't even like, oh man, I'll get this wrong. Bro, I was sure. Come on, man. You can't be you've got a guy like Messi on your team, brother. You're 10 bro, that's you adding 10% chance of winning, bro. And just like that, all the African teams are out. Yeah, they gotta go. Just like that, bro. Don't know how to manage. Just like that. Maintenance, you don't know how you winning 2-0 up. You couldn't manage get out of here. You couldn't manage the game, bro. Get out of here, man.

SPEAKER_11

That's crazy, shouldn't be here, you know? Yeah, man. But I'm not gonna lie, the what club has been interesting so far, you know, as the days are approaching by and everything, I'm like thinking, goddamn, but in two weeks' time, it's over now.

SPEAKER_13

I'm gonna suffer from withdrawals, guys.

SPEAKER_11

You're gonna be doing this, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_13

In front of the TV, man.

SPEAKER_11

I'm gonna be grabbing because we're gonna go a couple months without no no sport and everything.

SPEAKER_13

No, not really. Because there's um what's it called? Club friendlies, preseason. I know some of the things. It's not the same, though. Some people don't love football as much as I mean. I'm gonna be watching all of that. No, I'm gonna be watching all of that, but you know, it's not, of course it's not, because that one is not a tournament, it's not a festival, it's just guys getting trying to get fit. So, yeah, but we'll see what happens, though.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, man. I see what's so excited, man. Fam, we got so many amazing, interesting, controversial topics to talk about. Many.

SPEAKER_13

Well, a couple. I hope it's not many, bro. You get guys are not that important.

SPEAKER_11

You got me. I'll saw a couple, but I think each and every one of them, right? Yeah, there is so much to talk about. True, true, true, true. You got me whether whether the the mate, listen, the viral one at the shop bear and we skid, bro. Listen, listen. I looked at that, I was like, what the hell is going on?

SPEAKER_13

I think whiskey was laughing and doing this, isn't it? Was he pushing him away? I didn't see properly. Didn't see properly.

SPEAKER_11

I didn't see properly. Of course he did not. Look, my whiskey. Listen, bro. We're gonna talk about that. We're gonna talk about um South Africans are obviously claiming that that they played a part, and and it was because of them that Afrobeat is what Afrobeat is to them. Yeah, it's true. I'm saying it's true, man.

SPEAKER_13

Listen, I don't know how people feel about that. South Africans are the ones that created the word Afrobeats, they are the ones that made Afrobeats, they pushed Afrobeats, they are Afrobeats. Are you trolling or are you being serious? I'm being serious. Oh, you fuck off. You troll and you're being serious at the end of it, bro. You can say, bro when someone says they're mad, you've got to you have to agree with them, yeah. Bro, you you have to you have to play mad too. You have to believe that. When your madness, jam my madness, we start to go, oh okay. Yeah, bro. Listen, trust me, man.

SPEAKER_11

You know, and then we're also gonna talk about you know, Kate Fe has been um oh yeah, um, accepted for streamer you. That's the most the most obvious thing in my life.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, I remember when Shang got accepted, it was such a surprise. This one was too obvious.

SPEAKER_11

We're gonna talk about that because I've got uh so many things to talk about, all these topics and everything, bruv. You go I mean, but before we jump into them, listen, I want to salute every single one of you. You already know this is Fresh of the Boat show, Fresh of the Boat podcast, whatever you want to call us. That's what we are. Is your boy Toby and your boy Banks? Listen, we want to salute you guys, everyone that have been supporting us. Come on, watching the videos, leaving the likes, comments, all that stuff. Keep on doing it. You go, I mean, because we need the engagement, because that helps to push the videos, you know, into the whole algorithm thing and everything. And then also, don't just watch, also subs um subscribe as well. You know what I mean? Because that definitely, definitely helps us. You know what I mean? But apart from that, we wanna thank all you guys and all that. You get me, bro? Should we jump into this, yeah? Mm-hmm. What song should we even start with, bruv?

SPEAKER_13

Is that is that the one you want to start with? Yeah, hey, how far you won't go. Remember the topics how far were you won't go? Let's go.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. And what? Let's go! Uh-huh. Let's go.

SPEAKER_02

Your body they kill me. She did the case the gloves to my big link. Stop over for your city. You could see me. Oh shit. Oh my won't live me. I delimited your biscuit. Could the shit could the shit? Just not every minute she defune me. No, I feel it, no, but I'm gonna get your money. That's the case. We need G4 boys in the body.

SPEAKER_14

I'm gonna money.

SPEAKER_07

Money you bought a stick. That's my manatus. You have money cabinet. I'm gonna go. I guess I don't need a data night.

SPEAKER_14

Update it, money.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

I'm getting money. Yeah, bring me some Azul from The Love the Azure in Nigeria. Yeah. Die. G4 Boys. Shout out to G4 Boys. They love them Azu, bruv.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, you're killing your liver, mate.

SPEAKER_11

Liver is gonna that shit's gonna get fried up, yeah. Trust, man. Yes, sir. Bro, what's the game? Let's jump into this. Let's jump into this. We're here, we're here. So we're gonna start with the viral video that we saw of Ad Deshope and Shop She Doo Wiz Kid. For the last three days, yeah, the internet has been on fire. Swear. Fam. I've been scrolling through X. I will be scrolling through X for like five minutes. Every video that I'm seeing is a reaction. Oh, swear. Of that event. Yeah. And they are roasting at the shop. Rest. I've not seen nothing like this before, bro. They just roasted my man, bro.

SPEAKER_13

Manacon. They just roast him.

SPEAKER_11

They just roasting him. Fam. Look at him, bro. You get me. So obviously, Afro B um happened. Everybody was excited about the whole thing. You know. Oh, Afro Nation. Oh, rather Afro Nation happened. Everyone was excited about the whole thing. You know, the artists are gonna do what the artists are gonna do, and you go, I mean, little shades here and there, cuts you off with obviously talking about yo, Afro Nation knew what they were doing to put the best last and all that kind of shit. Cool. Artists are gonna do artist things. You gotta build your company. You get saying, yeah, gotta gas. Yeah, people kind of message me though. Say, yo, bro, I heard I heard whiskey's performance was the best. You get what I'm saying? But I'm not gonna lie, I didn't enjoy Bonner Boys one too. You get me? I think he killed it as well. I personally think all three of them killed it. You get me? Now, your preference will be your preference, isn't it? You get me? So everyone was excited about the whole thing. Um, the people that went, little videos here and there of people making out, you know, kissing, whatever, in there, gyrating, whatever it is. You get me? A lot was happening there. You get me? So I was like, oh, fantastic. Then we now saw this video. I first saw the video. Before I saw the commentaries, I said, yo, there is something weird about this video, bruv. Yeah. So the first video that I saw was when we skid was chatting to, I think, the backup dancers, the girls, whoever the case is, right? You know, thanking them for what they did or whoever the case is, right? And then you now see the camera panned, you now see Adesha behind him. Yeah. And we all know when a guy wanna chat to you, or when a guy wanna say hi, wherever, and you're not really feeling my man like that, but you don't want to cross a scene though. You get what I'm saying? Like, you don't want to like really crash out. You'll be like, Yeah, bro, you get what I'm saying? Like, you get me, like you cannot give him the the the half-baked, all right, bro. Salute, you get me? Like, let's let's keep it at the minimum, innit? Yeah, so I saw the video, you saw at the shop, but you know, trying to hail him like he always does, innit? Yeah, the town cryer type thing, you get me? Trying to try not to heal him like he always does and everything. You get me, like trying to hail my man like he always does and everything. And you can tell that whiskey was not really feeling him like that. You get what I'm saying? But he still gave me his respect. Like, all right, cool, you're older than me, whatever. We had a relationship, or I've I've I've heard some of the things that you said and did, or whatever the case is, but you know what? Salute now, the internet started going nuts. You got what I'm saying? Another video now came out where someone was recording from the back because I think the place like a hole, so they were going from one room to the other room type thing, you gotta say, and you now still saw a desha like holding him and everything, you get me, like and you can tell whiskey like your fam, like low me, man, you get what I'm saying, but it's either a deshot be it's rather say fum, you got me like you know he's not saying it, but the gestures and everything, like the way he's holding my man say fam, you know what I mean? Like, like I ain't got no issues with you though, you get what I'm saying? But you can tell whiskey like yo, fam free me in it. You get what I'm saying? So it's either he wasn't reading the room or he read the room, but he's trying to correct it.

SPEAKER_13

Someone has to be fired here though. You gotta say, yeah, someone has to be fired. That's what from what you're saying to me. I think someone needs to lose their job. And I don't know. Like who though? Aren't these celebrities, don't they have like uh bodyguards and stuff? They do, yeah. Someone should have intervened.

SPEAKER_11

Yes, but but the problem with that is you know, uh Dash Up Bear has always been around though, innit?

SPEAKER_13

Brother, I'm just going based on what you said. Yeah, you see, this is where people make millions and people don't make much. You see, Messi's um bodyguard, yeah. Why that guy is so good, he reads situations really well. All right, you see, when you have my goats, wise kid, doing uh as a real bodyguard, yeah. So you just hey yeah, yeah, step back. You see, Messi, someone is even coming photograph. The the bodyguard is there, quick, quick.

SPEAKER_11

I I agree with you, yeah. I agree with you, but what if your goats, whiskey, wise kid, right? Did not give no instruction prior to say, listen, I'm not really fucking with dude and everything. Yeah, I don't want him around here wherever the case is, right? Some artists do that. You get me? They're just like, yo, fam, I'm not really fucking with dude and all that stuff. You get me? I don't want him around here. Yeah, because the reason why I say that is before all this, they've got relationship, clearly.

SPEAKER_12

We all know, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

You got what I'm saying, like whiskey that's been to his house.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, we know.

SPEAKER_11

You know what I'm saying? So, and this was immediately after his concert at the stadium. Yep, big deal, yeah. You know, so I can understand how he was able to penetrate into the room and everything. Now, whether whiskey really has an issue with him or not, I don't know, but we're just going with what the video and everything, and all the commentaries and everything, yeah. So now the internet has now gone crazy. People now sit there pulling out videos. You got what I'm saying? So two of the videos that was pulled out was from this podcast.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, I remember the whole Tottenham, whatever.

SPEAKER_11

You got what I'm saying? One of the videos was Gracie May, actually, saying whatever she was saying, and when you look at that video, a Deshabet didn't really say anything wrong. Yeah, it's your you know, because I said I'm gonna be objective in this whole thing, right? Adesha did not say anything wrong in that clip.

SPEAKER_13

He didn't, but the thing is you're guilty by association, mate.

SPEAKER_11

You're guilty by association, that's what it is, right? The FC expected him to challenge her and and said no, that's not true, whatever the case is, right? Now, a second video that was pulled out was when I was having a conversation with him. I remember you go, I mean, and he was talking about Bonner Boy crew and all that, and how they don't talk about anybody else, but FC and Teddy B J always go to right? So that was the second video. Another video that came out was him and the Ghanaian boy. You know what I'm saying? He was asked to name his top um artist. He named everybody else, but Wizkid, which was kind of surprising. You know what I'm saying? Because, in my opinion, regardless of where you are in the whole thing, in our thing, it's kind of blasphemy to not put Wiz Kid in your top 10. There are artists that it's kind of a blasphemy.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

You know what I mean? Now, you might not say that he's number one, you might not say that he's number two, you might not say in chronological order or whatever the case is, right? But he has to be somewhere in your top 10. Yeah, I'm saying so that was kind of telling. Whether he forgot or not, we don't know. But they pulled out our video. Now, the back and forth that he had with DJ Tunes, which very hilariously, as these videos came out, DJ Tunes tweeted on X. Um, give me space. And guess who commented on the thing and retweeted and laughed? JDP. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, guys, I love this, you know. I don't know nothing about all of this. I told you guys I've exited. Listen, I'll throw beats for you guys. I know it. I know what's there.

SPEAKER_11

You know what I'm saying? But that whole thing, before we really deep dive into it into the whole thing, yeah. When he was going back and forth with tunes, I remember saying here that for tunes to jump out and say what he said about the whole Mattel boys and all this kind of stuff, right? That conversation had been had behind the scenes. Of course, 100%.

SPEAKER_13

Of course.

SPEAKER_11

He did not just pull that out of his ass.

SPEAKER_13

Of course, you got me.

SPEAKER_11

We don't know what's happening behind the scenes and everything. That conversation has been had. And Whiskit was involved. Possibly. He was allegedly. You got saying, but that those are the videos that were all pulled out. And then Adashobe now went to his ex, wrote a whole essay, whatever, whatever, whatever he was saying. I don't really want to start reading the whole thing. Yeah, it's on his ex page. If you guys want to read it, go read it. So this is a brief synopsis of the whole thing.

SPEAKER_13

Fantastic stuff. What do you think about it before I I'll go back to the first thing I said. Someone needs to be fired because the truth is, your messes, your all of these great artists, great sportsmen, they don't give their bodyguard a prior, they don't give them a warning about nothing. Your job is as soon as anyone comes into my space, you need to be in the middle of me and that person. That is your job. If you think I'm lying, ask. I know some of you won't be able to, but if you can, just ask those top-end bodyguards, those guys that do the job, they'll tell you that's your job. Your job is I don't care if it's your mother, your father, as long as you're going into that person's space, is until the person that you are guarding says you see normal side, they do that stand back. There you go. From what I saw, the video I saw, it was funny to me. I didn't read much into it. What I saw is just another man doing what he does regularly, which is exaggerates the greetings, you know, giving them their due. I was saying basically just bigging them up for everything they've done because he respects them and he needs to be in that, you know. He's you know, the the same person that gave him the Afro CNN, Afrobeat, Afrobeat CNN, all of this stuff.

SPEAKER_11

So but is it too much? Sorry, cut you up, though. Yeah, is it too much? Every single time it is too much, it's crazy. Every single time you see these people shouldn't be doing the same thing, bro. It's like it's cool if you do it the first time or whatever the case is, right? But every single time though, bro.

SPEAKER_13

In the in that video, what I expected was a thing of if anything, tap and as soon as we score, just say, Well done, bro, just leave it. But this whole because it looked awkward, he's way taller than Wiz Kid. It just looked really awkward. If you think I'm making this up, guys, watch that video without a volume, just watch the video. So if you really want to know if a video or something or situation looks awkward, always watch without volume. Just watch. You see, it's so oh man, it's it's really cringe. It's just like it's it looks like someone is forcing something on someone and the other person is entertaining it for that moment because they just it's an awkward situation. It's like I I need to get away at the same time. I don't want to get away because I don't want people to clip this and make this into a situation. Again, it didn't look that bad until you watch it with other video and with all the volume because you can see whiskey is leaning in a bit, but in that kind of awkward leaning in, like he's tapping his stomach, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Like he doesn't want to give him a hug.

SPEAKER_13

It's give him that that kind of that cold shoulder, yeah, cold body lean, and also, like I said, it's just really awkward because he looks like he's forcing it. That's what it looks like, especially the one from the back. Again, like we do, VAR. They say if you watch a video slow motion, it looks worse than it is. So if you think I'm making this up, watch this video, low volume, and watch it slow mo and you know exactly what I'm saying. He's not a bit taller than Wiz, he is very so he's towering over Wiz. So in that case, he's just forcing it. And um, unfortunately, this is what would always happen to people that feel the need, which is a good thing, to be always positive. I'll tell you why. Because in the in the mood or in the midst of you being your that's how life is unfortunately. Once you're being positive all the time, you are gonna ru someone the wrong way. That is just facts, right? Because think about it this way So let's say Tobes has done something really bad, but I'm trying to be objective now. You see? Guess who's gonna guess the people that are gonna be saying, yo, brother, come on, man. You have to tell Tobes off because what he did was not good, blah blah. And you're trying to see it from both angles, the fans. Fans will be like, nah, we see what you're doing because you like Tobes. That's why you're you're speaking like that. And guess what then happens now? I'll see another person, they will do something stupid, and I'm trying to still stay positive and stay in the middle, and not, you know, I'm trying to call out things, and people are gonna be like, ah, how is it that you never come out and just say the truth that say this is bad? Instead, it looks like you're constantly being objective with every situation. I get it, it's great, it sounds nice, but it's not realistic. It's not even it's not humanly palatable for any human being to always just see stuff positive like that. It just doesn't make sense. What happens? It's about your fake, exactly, it's about your fake. Or you're not in the loop, yeah. You're not just in the loop. So for me, that's what it is, and that's what's finally caught up with not just Addition of any human being on earth. What then happens is because you're not objective enough for people, obviously, to you, you are being objective, of course, but to the human mind and to the human eyes, they just see you as you are F-A-K-E, you're fake. You know you're not fake because you're trying to stay positive, you're trying to bring something unique to the space. But what happens now is people now see you for who you are again perspectively. Because remember, you're being positive to A, what does that mean? It's an opposite reaction to B. That's how life is. That's why DJ Tunes said what he said in that tweet of blah blah blah. Because for him, he sees it one way. Because guess what? If I'm trying to be positive and I'm chatting to your ops, do you know what's gonna be? You know what I mean? You're gonna see it a bit awkward. Like, why is this guy chatting to my ops? Don't he know that I don't like that guy? And guess what? Because you've already committed to this new lifestyle of I'm gonna be positive, everyone, you're robbing people the wrong way. Yeah, and unfortunately, that video doesn't really help. It doesn't matter what essay is written, I promise you that video does not look good. Yeah, because at the end of the day, I've been saying this for time. You guys will learn in this industry. I get it, everyone wants to fill up their pockets, get into rooms, get deals, brand deals, but you know who sleeps well at night? Me. Because I'm coming here to tell the truth, mate. I do not listen. If Bernard messed up today, I'll tell Berner off. And guess what? Bernard is still my goal. If Whiskey does this, I'll tell him off, he's still my goal. But the problem now is when you're in those spaces, because you want to be invited to concerts, you want to do interviews, you want to have people around, you think you can do it all. No, you can't. You can't be friends with everyone. It's impossible. Even a dad cannot be friends with all his kids. Mate, you've got to have a favorite. It's just the way the world is. The Bible says you can't serve two masters. Yeah, the Bible that you guys read says it in that book that, brother, you've got to pick one. You've got to pick one. So, how is it possible that the guy that depending on what you believe it created this earth is telling you that you can pick only one, then you go, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. How do you know better than the guy that created you? Like, yo, so hey, to conclude, I'm happy this is happening because we all have to learn one way or the other, mate. We've got to learn, yeah. You know what I mean? Again, guys, watch that video with our volume and then slow more. And please, if you can, share it to the FOTB community. I just want to laugh. So we laugh together on X. On X. Hey, you go. Yeah, man, it's crazy. Uh I'll let you have a go, but I've got something else on the back of what you're about to say. I have an idea, but I'll let you go.

SPEAKER_11

All right, cool. This is the thing, yeah. Everything that I'm about to say, yeah. If I still had a relationship with a deshop, yeah, I probably would have said it to him over the phone to his face. Yeah. But the relationship, the relationship's kind of iffy at the moment. So I'll say I will say it on the pod. But I'm still gonna say it with love, right? I always say this. Do you want to be respected or tolerated? Right? Why do I say that? When you see all these people every single time, all this kind of stuff, right? Cool. They can allow you in the room because you're always singing their praises and everything. You go I mean, but then how much respect do they actually have for you? You go I'm saying you cannot be an elder statesman and also be a hype man for the artist. You go, I mean, you cannot be a culture commentator, yeah, but you also want to be a hype man for this, for these guys, and be friends, and and also want to be friends with them. You go what I'm saying, like you at some point it's gonna clash. You know what I'm saying? It's just like a girlfriend, it's just like you have a girlfriend, right? And every single time, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. How high? How high can I jump? Okay, stand, how long you got I mean, all this kind of stuff, right? What's gonna happen is the day that you say no, it becomes a problem. You don't have even the day that you you don't even quote unquote defend them or whatever the case, you didn't even say anything wrong. It becomes a problem. The problem that Adeshop had is there are different ways of selling your soul. Yeah, he's he quote unquote sold his soul, and when you say sell your soul, it's very, very hard to have an opinion, even if it's an objective opinion. You know what I'm saying? Absolutely, because you mentioned guilty by association, Gracie May said something, right? Because he didn't jump out there defending everything. Now everyone is coming for him, yep. Yeah, because everyone I've seen you, oh, this, this, da, da, da. Now you saw whiskey, oh, this, this, da, da, da. And then, quote unquote, the Mattel deal or whatever the case is, right or wrong, whether it was Davido that gave to you, I don't fucking know. You go, I mean, I congratulated him for that. You go, I'm saying, but the problem is you put yourself into these situations and then you get caught. And when you get caught, you now look crazy.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

You know what I'm saying? Because when you look at every uh this this whole thing and all that, if he was quote unquote an elder statesman and not trying to play all this kumbaya thing, bro, you can still state your opinions on your pod or on your blogging thing, yeah. And when people see you, people will still respect you. Factor. You go, I mean, but because you are their hype man now, if you do or say anything that they don't like, they can easily just kick you out.

SPEAKER_12

Hype men don't tell truth. That's facts. Hype men don't tell truth.

SPEAKER_11

You go, I mean, and that is the problem with his whole situation. And if I can tell him, bro, you don't have to be their town crier all the time, bro. You know what I'm saying? You don't have to be that guy, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like, be yourself, do what you gotta do, people will still respect you, regardless.

SPEAKER_13

Listen, everything you've said. Is so true, and this is the reason why I was happy that I said, you know what? When you give your opinion on it, it's gonna even become a bit it's gonna become a bit clearer on what I really think. So the issue here is the industry, this is the problem. The industry is up for grabs. When I say the industry is up for grabs, everyone fights for some sort of power because they see it as once I have the power, I can command everyone to me. So in the case of Adishop right now, is like yeah, he's been in the industry for a while in terms of like doing interviews, just being around. So he's done his bit, which is kudos to him. Now he's in a place where he feels like he needs to reap from what he's sown, right? So he's now he's thinking, okay, cool, I'm in this space. So as I'm here now, as people see, as people see me, and some people do see him as that, as this elder statesman, this OG, one of the pioneers of the maybe the UK section of accepting and doing everything Afrobeats and pushing it out there, he feels the need to assume this role of being, for lack of a better term, father figure for the Afrobeats scene. So that's why you see he's doing the whole Ghana, you know, when Ghana, Ghanaian artists come, South African, Uganda, he wants to be that main guy, which is fine. That's what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying? At the end of the day, jack of all trade, master of none. That's how people would end up seeing it. Because the problem here is you're putting yourself in a very awkward situation. So for instance, now, I'll use the South African thing going on. If a South African artist comes here and whatever it is, he has to, you know, because he's an ambassador as he sees himself. He has to, you know, roll around, chill with them, pick them up, whoever, take them to what's his name, DJ A G, all of that stuff, just be in the know, be in the space, everything people can see, show face and all that stuff. Some Nigerians will find out very like, what the heck? Because that's how some Africans, not just Nigerians actually, some Africans have seen it as anything South African, these people are da da da, they don't want to mix with them. I'll give you an example on that, what I've just said now. You saw that with the football. The footballers are not the ones chasing people out of South Africa, right? But people are saying, yo, as long as you have anything South Africa on you, we don't care. Vice versa with um Ashake, he started his album with that whole South African chance. People are like, oh, then can't you read the room? So already, you already know any association with a South African or anything South African, it's gonna be a problem. But once you become a person like Adish Aqued, you've put yourself in that role, you have to fulfill, and you have to do, you know, you have to fulfill your responsibilities. And that is the reason why we're having this. And I don't want to, it's not a again, it's not a self-deprecation because I don't think he's doing it to himself. Unfortunately, inadvertently, he's doing it to himself because he's put himself in this situation now. So the videos out there, when he was in Nigeria, he was with Bernabo and his family. Like I said, some people take these things really seriously. You're an up because you're chilling with the up. Do you know what I'm saying? So let's imagine Wiz. I'm not saying Wiz is doing that, I'm just imagining Wiz really is seeing Berner as an up and he sees you chilling with Berner, and it's like, oh, is it okay? Cool. I'm gonna catch you in it. We're gonna have a show, you're gonna come and you're gonna big me up. We'll see.

SPEAKER_11

But the problem with that is, sorry, Corey, but the problem is that is what's the likelihood guy's name that that that MCs as well and and and also dances as well.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, Poke Lee.

SPEAKER_11

Poke Lee. Yeah, he's cool with all those people as well, right? But the problem is it goes back to either your respected or your tourism. That's what I'm saying. How you move determines which which one of these that you get. 100%. You go, I mean, I feel like a Dutch um Adesha, but he's a nice guy. I know him in real life. I've chilled with him and everything. He's a nice guy and all that. Yeah, but the problem is you cannot put on all these hats at the same time. If you want to be a cultural commentator, yeah, people expect you to be objective.

SPEAKER_13

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_11

You know what I mean? People expect the truth from you, yeah. And if you're not giving them the truth, they are not gonna listen to you. You go, I mean, so obviously you're gonna fail on that. Yeah, we're from a society, yeah. Yeah, now you are doing the whole MC thing um um in concerts and everything. Great, you know what I'm saying? You're doing the branding thing as well, great. But the thing is, you cannot be an elder statesman and still be a hype man for all these guys.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, you can't.

SPEAKER_11

You go, I mean, leave that to the cate face of the world and everything, and all the like you're literally putting yourself in the same the younger people that yeah, yeah, like leave it to the younger people to do all the shouting and all this kind of stuff. When these people see you, they should be able to respect you, like shake your hand as someone who's been in the scene, yeah, someone who they had to come to your show when they were coming up and everything. Like the way he's moving, he's moving like like they're doing a favor and all this kind of stuff. Like you got doing me a favor, bro. These are not doing you a favor and all that, and that's the reason why the disrespect keeps on coming.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, they're doing him a favor, really.

SPEAKER_11

But but that's because he's putting himself in the in that position.

SPEAKER_13

Absolutely, they're doing him a favor. In this social media era, we know what is really valuable, which is you know what the eyes see, what the algorithm pushes, and just the cachet and the things you get around you that makes you look important. We know. So they're doing him a favor, if anything, because at the end of the day, if um he didn't speak to Wiz or Um he's not being called um Afrobeat CNN by the same Wiz and all these things, people won't see him as oh rah, this guy's he's important, you know. He's one of the he's one of the conductors of what's happening in the scene. Do you know what I'm saying? At the end of the day, for me, I still think for the longest, anyway. I've just had to like ignore it, but for the longest, there's a lot of things he might do that I'm like, I'm not comfortable with that because of the respect I have for his craft. You know what I'm saying? For what he's done. You know, there's a way a person that you rate what they're doing, and they move the same way. What the heck is this person doing? And he's done that for a while. You're right about the hype man thing. I find it cringe anyway. Again, he might see it as oh, I'm being positive. Yes, you are, but the problem now is we come from a society, unfortunately. I know it's sad, it's really sad, but unfortunately, you have to pick a side. That's where we're coming from. We're coming from a place where they're tribalistic, they're very religious, they're very this, they're very that. So the way these people see it is like if you pick one side, you can't go to the other side. Yeah, but this is the thing though, we have not picked any side.

SPEAKER_11

No, no, no. You got what I mean? I think I think different. Yeah, the problem with that is, you know, which is the reason why I don't think it's very, I don't think it's a wise idea or a wise move to get very, very close to these artists. Exactly. You go, I mean, you can't get very close to this artist because once you get very close to them doing what we're doing, you are gonna you are gonna get compromised. Of course. You will have to sell your soul one way or the other. You go, I mean, because if you look at academics, similar things happening in America. Yeah, academics, because of how close he is to Drake, he's compromised when it comes to that. He cannot be objective when it comes to Drake. Absolutely, no matter how he tries to say, Yeah, I'm a no, he's not. Charlemagne the God, we have seen what's coming out and everything. He's close to rock nation, yeah, right. So he's a bit biased when it comes to that, yeah. The Ebras of the world and everything. But do you know who gets burnt when this whole beef thing happened? DJ Khalid. Because DJ Khalid is like a deshot. He wants to do kumbaya, kumbaya, kumbaya, yeah, right. And then what did Drake say to him? Listen, when she was going out and everything, I didn't hear like it is the same thing. You can't get too close to this artist because once you get too close to them, they they will feel indebted.

SPEAKER_13

You go, I mean, but the reason you're getting close, because pay the bills, yeah, because of whatever you want to get from them.

SPEAKER_11

That's right. But I think Adesha Be has put in the work, the years, the time, the resources, right, to be his own guy and and move shit and control shit. He has relationships and everything. You got what I'm saying? I don't know the reason why he doesn't move at it that way. Why is it that every single time you are hyping these guys, you're you're singing their praises and everything. Every single time, like it is a bit awkward if you ask me. And I'm sure that the artists themselves, you know, and go watch the videos. Whenever he does the levies, then yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_13

I'm saying I'm happy to be most of the artists are you can tell they only just tolerating it because of they see him as someone influential. That's it. They see him as someone that they could that can get them eye that could get eyes on them. That's what it is. So you see, when someone comes over to the UK now, they might be like, Oh, I need to go sit down with Adishokwe because they see him as that the the UK branch, you know, the guy that can you know give you the numbers or get your songs listened to or spun, or just that that's I don't really think so.

SPEAKER_11

I think I think it is promise you. No, I think it is. I think what it is is when all these boys were coming up, yeah, yeah, he he interviewed them at some point.

SPEAKER_13

No, I'm I'm even talking about the newer artists, bro. Okay, okay. Oh, the new artists, okay, yeah, yeah, the new artists. The newer artists, and even these guys, and also because you interviewed me when I was young, that don't mean I owe you anything. No, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_11

It doesn't mean that they owe him anything.

SPEAKER_13

That's why I feel like some of them are just doing they're like, you know what? To be fair, I don't want to be seen as a bad person. This guy did, you know, help push what we're enjoying right now. So let's repay him back by you know, just bring him close. And that's what I don't want in life, to be fair. I'll be honest with you. There's a lot of these artists that I've blown up, I've spoken to. Bro, they don't check on me. I don't necessarily have to check on them. No, bro. I'll give you an example. So, Priest came to London, and anyone that knows how much I've been pushing. This was three, four years ago. Like, oh, Priest is da da da. When he came to that, I didn't reach out to him. Obviously, the whatever management reached out to us and said, Do we want to sit down? We couldn't make it happen. I didn't force it. No, I didn't know one time go, yo, you're my country, you're my city, or that nonsense people do they don't understand. I didn't, I don't do it.

SPEAKER_11

From all the people for people that have been following this, this um platform and everything, all the people that we've interviewed, all of them. I'm not in Kotawi, anything one of them. You mean I try as much as possible to keep my distance when it comes to all those people. Yeah, Bankulia has been here, Ice Prince has been here. We've spoken to Sheu Kutin. Um, all of them. You got what I'm saying? But I always try to. I try not to get compromised, I try not to be that guy so that when I come on here, I can say what I have to say. You go what I'm saying, and still sleep well at night. And nobody, and when I see them, I respect them as men, as human beings. Yeah, human beings. You go I mean, like, yes, they make great music, I love their music and everything, but that's where it ends.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, bro, that's where it is. It's not that's where it ends. It's not even a pride thing, it's about a thing of knowing how would you feel later on. This is how I live my life. I do stuff, then I go away and go, ooh, how did that feel? And I feel like this has happened too many times in the sense where, yeah, you have to be in that space because you're now this um well-known guy that you know people respect, and people to an extent, people, some of these new artists coming up a door, not for the right reasons, but because of what they think you can do for them. That's what it is. So, and I don't want that situation, you know. I'm saying I know again, I know a lot of artists, I've spoken to them, they know what it is. I'm never forcing anything of anyone. No, I'll never do, but uh, it's just a shame that I've always wanted to say this for the longest. It's just a thing where unfortunately it's happened now, we have to talk about it. But deep down, I've always thought about these things and I've just kept it to myself. I'm like, brother, sometimes when I see some of the videos and the things they're saying, I'm like, you know, you can choose not to speak on this, just leave it. Yeah, yeah. You can choose not to speak on it. Reason being, again, when you speak on something, you're rubbing someone else the wrong way. And again, I'm not saying it again, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. It's just once you start to do that, that means you can't get close to these guys. That's what it is. You either pick your poison, you know, is the red pill or the blue pill. You always say I'm saying so. If you know that you are you like your burners, your whiz, your this, you are going to fight the fans. And guess who control and guess who gets controlled by the fans, whether they like it or not? The artist. I promise you, these artists, they they've got a very fragile ego. They get controlled by the fans. They would like to say no. A lot of times something trivial would happen, no one cares about it. The fans will hype it up, and it will get to the artist, and the artists will react to it. And you're like, oh, because they guess what, guys, they're human beings too. So they get on their phones and the social media, they're scrolling. And I just feel like that's why it's dangerous to be like seen with a guy. So a whiz now has come to my house. Guess what FCs are thinking? I belong to them. That's it. I belong to them. So guess what? Now, if Bernard Bona invites me to an event in Lagos and I travel over there, guess what we're FC are saying? We knew it. This guy, hmm, he's a hypocrite.

SPEAKER_11

But then also, I don't really think because there are a lot of people, I agree with you in a way, but there are people that chew with Whisked Davido Bonab. 100%. The thing is the way he's been going about the whole thing, like I said before, right? When you have a girlfriend, and every single time, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes, yep. When when it comes to this artist, oh my god, you're the this, you're the god, this is da da da da da da da, right? You're hyping every single one of them anytime you see them, right? You are in a way selling your soul, right? Because what's gonna happen is the day that you lose God and you sit on the pod and you now try to speak your mind, or in terms of the video that came out of Gracie May saying what she was saying, and he didn't jump out there to defend whiskey or whatever the case is, right? Now, guilty by association.

SPEAKER_12

Yep, you go.

SPEAKER_11

I'm saying you either is respected or you are tolerated. You go, I mean, in my opinion, those are the two mistakes that he really, really made when it comes to this. You go, I mean, you cannot be uh the hype man for for all these artists. You can be the hype man for the culture, you can be the hype man for Afrobeats, but you can't be hype man for all these artists and everything, yeah, and still your MC, your hype man, you want to be um elder statesman, you want to be social commentator, all these things. At some point, one of them is gonna burn. You know what I'm saying? And that's where we are right now, and I hope, and I hope, because everything I'm saying is out of love and everything. I hope you know he kind of just views it that way and then just pivot to whatever thing that he wants to do.

SPEAKER_13

But you know, I have a feeling he's not gonna see it that way, and he's right not to if he wants to. That's up to him. It's because obviously in the past, he's even said it he said anything on X that X is the Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He hate it. Yeah, he hates it over there because of course on X, people come and speak their either dirty mind, real mind, or objective mind, right? Try to get that, and I think probably he's gonna listen to this and ignore it. He's right again, he's within his rights to do that. For me, again, my only thing, I don't give advice because I'm not an expert, I can only give my opinion. My opinion will be to maybe he has done it, I don't know. If you can get in contact with whoever, speak behind the scenes and say, Yo, bro, that video looks crazy, crazy. I just want to confirm one thing are we good? And I promise you, are you still asking that question? Are we good? You never know, because maybe Wiz was not even in the mood that time. You know, there's a lot of things that could have happened, you know. And maybe we are all just misreading the situation and we're excited to see another man get shunned and all of that stuff. But the truth is, once you call Waze, sorry, wise kid, and say, Yo, bro, are we good? And wise kid takes a two-second pause, bro. We're not good. Two things. Are we good? He goes, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're not good. Another one, are we good?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, not good.

SPEAKER_13

But the one thing that I can confirm that you guys are good when you say, Hey, bro, are we good? And he goes, What kind of stupid question are you asking me, my bro? Come on, man. We're all good. Uh-huh. That one is half, half. Now you can start to like, you know what? F what these people are saying on social media, cool. But brother, if you get that pause or quick response, you're not good. Just let it go. Start to think of another person you're gonna hide because, brother.

SPEAKER_11

At this point, he he should know, he should read the leaves and and realize what's going on. Just read the romance, what's gonna happen there, bro? I stand with Shopsy D, man. Don't worry, bro. That video looks wild. No, salute to him and everything, bro. Salute to him.

SPEAKER_13

That video looks wild. Oh, watch that video without the volume, my guys, and you come back to me and tell me what you think. You laugh, but bro, that's and it's just yeah. I'm so happy that for me, that I don't think that will ever, ever in a world happen to me. I'm so glad. Never say never, you never know. I'll tell you why it will never happen to you. I struggle, yeah. Yeah, I struggle to even talk to people that I see, bro. I'll see an artist, just the two of us here, you know. I'll talk to them like normal. I'll big you up for your craft, I'll big you up for what you've achieved, and that's where it stops. Me, hype you for what reason? I'm not hyping you like even Michael Jackson, which is the goat of all go. Michael Jackson here, the one thing I'll say to us, like, bro, you have to tell me if you're human, bro. Like, I'll start a very weird conversation with him. Now I get it. Again, I don't know how old Adishokpa is. I don't know how old Adishokpa is. But for some for me personally, I have to say shout out to him for him having the courage to still carry on doing it. Oh, yeah. Listen, listen, he's active. I'm not talking about active. For him to downtool his pride, and because that stuff is tough. I'll be honest with you. Remember, you're hyping people younger than you. That's one. Two, you know what these people will say. You know how most Nigerians are, man. They're like, look at this Agbaya, look at this. They'll just be insulting you. Do you know what I'm saying? But every time I've seen my man, whether he recognizes me or not, I always big him up. How you doing? You good? Sometimes I see him and I don't say anything because he's busy trying to other people.

SPEAKER_11

Sorry, call you off. Yeah, so we're just talking right now. Yeah, go and watch that clip again. Go and watch that clip of the one of Gracie May.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, I've seen it too many times.

SPEAKER_11

Go and look at my face when she was chatting, where she was chatting. I started smiling because I knew. Bro, go and watch that video again. This guy's uh algorithm. Bro, go and watch that video. Like, this is not 22 minutes.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've seen that video too many times.

SPEAKER_11

Let me play an NF, bro. Look, look at look yeah, look at the video. Look at my face. I shouldn't say all that. Yeah, I knew, yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_13

This that's an is obvious, that's an obvious thing.

SPEAKER_00

With your respect, everybody, we will still talk about it for failure if we continue to do things like this. Example being Megan, Miss Didn't tell about Tottenham Stadium.

SPEAKER_11

What the fuck?

SPEAKER_00

He hasn't been able to come back and do a venue of the same capacity because he didn't because you're working with Lamination.

SPEAKER_10

Because those guys won't come back.

SPEAKER_00

Mamma could come back and do London Stadium again on the provider that he sold the seats he bought at London Stadium again.

SPEAKER_13

It's not a fit, isn't it? Mom put the video on safro be okay. Never mind. It's not a fitness in it. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

I just started laughing because I was like, oh shit.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

This is coming. Only shit that's brought. This video trends like every three three to six months.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, yeah, of course. Unfortunately, it's not on the um uh what's it called Fresh of the Boat thing, innit? It's on his thing, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Listen, that's a whole nother conversation.

SPEAKER_11

That's a whole nother conversation.

SPEAKER_13

Join our Patreon for that conversation.

SPEAKER_11

40 quid, man. That's a whole nother conversation itself. 40 quid for it. It's gonna be he cannot pull the first one on that still, but yeah, I'm gonna leave that shit alone. It is in the past.

SPEAKER_13

See, these are the people that can pull fast one on uh you know me, bro. I'm with the gang. I'm making money. She thinks I do Yahoo.

SPEAKER_11

Hey, what uh these guys were listening industry, industry drama is very funny, bro. You go say industry drama is very funny. Now listen, I I love myself, I love the where I am and how I live my life. I believe it was Ice Prince that was here, and we were having a conversation and everything. And I told him to his face, he was sat there, he had a whole gang of people there. Gang, bro. Fam, he came with a whole squad and everything, bro. You get me? What the hell is what? And I said to him, bro, I don't really like artists like that, you know. He said, What? I mean, how you feel about artists? Like you were surprised and everything. I said, bro, because of the whole narcissistic nature and everything. You know what I'm saying? And you can see that in this whole scenario and everything. Like you're not allowed to say your mind, which goes back to the conversation that we had last week. You go, I mean, you can't tell the truth, you can't be objective. Once you have a relationship with them, you know, because I believe in having a relationship with somebody and also giving an objective opinion in the whole thing. You got, yeah, I do understand that some things, because of your relationships, you might not want to say it for the camera or whatever the case is. I get all that. You go. I mean, for example, you know, if you had a relationship with Whiskey, for example, I'm not saying that this happened and you feel that he didn't sell out the stadium. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to come out and say whiskey did not sell out the stadium and all that kind of shit. Because of the relationship you have with the person type thing. But in regards to other cultural things, like let's say the beef that he's got going on with Davido, wherever, like you should be able to have an opinion on that. Say, you know, whether you like it or not, say, listen, I don't really fuck with that, you know, because I've told my brother Weez, you know, he should just let that shit go. Like, you're you're allowed, you're you should be allowed to say shit.

SPEAKER_13

That's what an elder does, right?

SPEAKER_11

That's what an elder does, but then you can't really do that if you are playing elder and then playing Heifman.

SPEAKER_13

One has to gaze. This is what happens when you think of when you think of only your pocket. This is the consequences of it. Because guess what? You're thinking of how do I survive? This is why some people are living, and some people are just only surviving. The people that are living get to say stuff that they want to say, and no one can hold them to it. Yeah, back in those days, I would tweet someone who reply, and I'll go back and forth. Now I will write what I need to say and go away. Come above me. I don't know who you are, you don't know who I am. I've said what I've got to say and I've moved on, right? It's that simple. There's just a lot of people, unfortunately. Sometimes I wish I was from another country because I feel like their culture would in a way affect the way we interact with ourselves. With where we're coming from as Nigerians, as you already know, there's a lot of politics that comes into just a normal, a normal relationship, you know. There's a lot of politics with just a normal relationship. Yeah, you know. So if someone drops an album, I'm not allowed to say the album is not good enough. In what world does this work?

SPEAKER_11

You're not allowed to say that you don't like it.

SPEAKER_13

I can't say it's not good enough. I don't say I can't say I don't like it. And on top of it, you're dealing with people that have comprehension issues. Like it's already, you've already lost anyway. But I my thoughts and my prayers with him. Salute to everyone involved. That video was crazy. Just watch it again. Looks nice in slow mo, zero voice.

SPEAKER_11

Looks nice. You got me. Salute to everyone involved, though. You got me. I hope they all sought it out. That's what I'm saying. You got me.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Talking about crazy, bruh.

SPEAKER_13

This will pass.

SPEAKER_11

Talking about crazy.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

So Kate Fay, a streamer, Nigerian streamer, and everything, has been accepted to go on Kai Sinat's streamer university. Streamer University.

SPEAKER_13

No? No, we shouldn't clap for him. No. Sorry, sorry, sorry. I'm just clap with that. I don't know. The not just the older, this has nothing to do with age. But the more I experience the world, there's certain things I don't see it as achievement anymore. Now, for him, it is an achievement. That's my point. I'm saying for me. In their world. Of course, in the world, that's a massive one. And I'm so happy that he's getting that.

SPEAKER_11

But for me, now it's like well, I mean, I mean, at the end of the day, you know, this is a chance to go and connect with the rest of the streamers out there. Try trying to um um build a network or whatever, which I it will be interesting to see how that plays out. Because boy, because boy, boy, sometimes, sometimes when I'm on X and I'm seeing the eclipse in everything, because he he also streams on TikTok and all that stuff, right? And he's chatting to some girls from the states, boy, my man, an English UFC brev. You gonna say UFC bruv. And I'm um when I saw him, first of all, yeah, from you are I don't know how old you are, bro. Stop with the getting naked shit, bruv. You get what I'm saying? Because Kaiser, when Kaiser called his name, yeah, obviously my man was excited and all that. He started tearing up his share all the way down to his knakers and everything. Kaiser was forced to turn off the the twist in and everything, like to kind of um turn his channel off, or whatever the case is. Because, bro, why the fuck are you even doing all that? You get me? But I get it. This is the thing. When you don't have, and I'm not saying that he doesn't have substance, but when you don't have substance, you kind of have to do all this crazy shit and everything. I don't see the need of having to tear off your clothes all the time and put on your knickers, like down to your knickers and everything, bro. You're a grown-ass man, bruv. And once again, it goes back to the conversation that I was having my homegirl yesterday, in regards to the respect that Americans have for Africans, right? And Africans who complain, oh, America doesn't have results. But that's because, yeah, obviously, someone like Kate Fe or Michael Blackson, for example, yeah, they do not represent everyone in Africa, right? They don't represent everyone in Africa, but unfortunately, they are the talking ones that have sort of made it out there, their faces out there, wherever the case is, right? So the ignorant Americans, the ignorant ones, will look at them and be like, is this how Nigerians are? Right? So when you look at someone like Katefi, and he does all this shit, tear off his shit all the way to the pants and everything, yeah. What does he think some of these people that he's gonna travel over there to go meet? What are they gonna say about him? You know what I'm saying? So even though I want him to succeed, I enjoy his content, I love what he does and everything. But when I just look at him and a couple clips out there, which are funny, but when I see him trying to communicate with some of these kids from the States and everything, I'm like thinking, what is it gonna look like in that streamer you? Right? Which in a way I kind of wish that Kaisanar was gonna do like, let's say, an international streamer you where you get the the biggest streamers from each country and bring them all together. That's different, right? But bring in doing a streamer university where 90% or 95% of the people there are Americans, you have one person from the UK, one person from Nigeria and everything. I think he's gonna struggle. I think he's gonna struggle. Um, because a lot of these kids they are rich, they have traveled or whatever, but they are not enlightened, right? In regards to the cultural differences and all that. So it will be interesting to see the way he moves within that circle in the stream again.

SPEAKER_13

Um, interestingly, I've I'm happy he's on this podcast said it. I've never been a big fan of Kata Fe's antics. My my friend here has kind of championed it. Again, remember, we are gonna all suffer from every embarrassment, and we have to deal with the consequences. It's never going to change. The people we champion, they don't help us, they don't help our image, they don't even help us have a good conversation with people that have never they've never seen me before, they don't know you, but they know you're Nigerian. Oh, so imagine kids growing up, you're not an older person, you're like, Oh, I'm Nigerian. They'll be like, Oh, you know, Kata Fe, they start to see you through that lens, and that's how these people are. I'm happy you brought Michael Blackson. Michael Blackson got, should I say, famous from self-deprecation. Yeah, he's doing self-deprecation about Africans, which I've never found funny. I think he's I think he's a terrible comedian, but hey, we'll talk about that some other time. He has no, yeah. Anyway, now we now have someone called Kata Ife doing the same thing, tearing shit, putting stuff on his face. First of all, that's not our culture. Do you get it? So it's not like he's doing something that's very cultural, and I'm like, uh, I don't want to see this. And people go, why are you trying to, you know, cut you're trying to like run away from your culture? Run away from your culture, run away from who you truly are. That's not what we do. We don't go around taking off our tops all for entertainment. So at the end of the day, that Olodo uprising is a very big fact. It's a shame. The the the what's it called? The society right now in Nigeria is uh it's a it's shambles, bro. Like, no one is looking for quality human beings, everyone is after money, fame, ways to feed themselves. Again, it's not necessarily their fault, it's not entirely their fault, it's the government that's created this nonsense. So it's just a shame that we're gonna have someone like Kate Fe going to represent the small pockets of Nigerian youths. That's that's that's for me. When I saw that, I was like, again, I had dual, dual emotions. Happy for him because maybe he's been dreaming about that moment since he started streaming. But for me, I just went, oh god, this is minus 50 again. This is the thing.

SPEAKER_11

I love I love what he dresses up because he dresses well. You know what I mean? I've seen it a couple times. He dresses well and everything. I like it when he dresses up. I wish he can show that side more often. You get what I'm saying? Like, go out there, you know. Sure, listen, we all don't come from the mud. We we all don't come, we we we are not out here, you know, eating monkey meat and shit, bruv. You get what I'm saying? Like, the way you are living over there, that's what we're living over here as well. You got what I'm saying? We're driving the Lamborghinis and the shit that you guys are driving over there. You go, I mean, because all these kids, if it was adults, is different. But these are kids. If you've been to secondary school and you see, like, quote unquote, the privileged kids and the rich kids, whatever the case is, and the way they relate to some of the poor. You go what I'm saying? It's kind of like the similar thing, you know. All these American kids or the Western kids, the way they view Africans and everything, you know what I'm saying? Like they are not educated enough to understand, okay, this is not how I actually live my life and everything. This is all you know for the streaming shit. You got what I'm saying? So I kind of wish he is a bit, you know. But but what I want to say is I looked at that whole situation and I just laughed. Yeah, I said, When you're doing your thing, do not listen to haters. Do what you want to do. Why do I say that? I followed the whole story of Shank and Katefe. And when Shank got accepted to streamer you, Katefe came on stream. Yeah. And blasted him, talking about he's looking for the American um um, what's it called again? You know, you know you want to look, you're looking for Kai Sinata, blah blah blah blah blah blah and all that kind of shit, right? Blasted my man and everything. Yeah, shamed him for that. Yeah, but now Katefe pulled 50 Cent to Shanks Jaru. What do I mean by that? When 57 first came out, Jaru has been around, right? 57 was clowning Jaru. You call yourself a gangster, but you're always singing in your song the whole melodic shit. Yep, right? But guess who went and took on the melodic shit? 50 Cent. Right. There you go. So Katefe was clowning Shank for going to America, hanging out with the Kaisenats, streaming you, all that stuff. But now my man went crazy when he heard his name.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Doing the same thing that he criticized Shank for. I always tell people do not listen to haters that are trying to give you quote unquote advice. Because the reason why they are trying to give you quote unquote advice is because they are not there. If they had the opportunity to be there, they will be there themselves.

SPEAKER_12

Yeah, that's facts, man.

SPEAKER_11

You get what I'm saying? And I'm happy for Kate Fe, but when I look at the whole thing, I think, uh-huh. Yeah. The reason why you're feeling a type of way is because you were not there.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, for me personally, I don't even want this guy there for I don't care about him explaining to them we drive Lamborghinis and we drink water. I don't care about that. I just want someone to go there and influence the younger kids in a very positive way. Because there's a difference. Imagine someone like Kate if it goes there speaking really well, doesn't have to speak, doesn't have to speak good English. No, he doesn't start asking really well, like express yourself really well, make sure you're comprehensible, just make sure that if your cadence is right, everything you're saying is very it's about you. People are learning and getting to know you as a human being, and from there, people can start to decipher what type of culture you're from because they're not Africans, they're not Africans, so they're like, oh wow, we didn't even know. Wow, we didn't know you guys think like this, blah blah blah. Like the intellectual part or the intellectual side of a human being is what I really care about because that's what carries weight than any monetary, any superficial, any kind of physical property. No one cares about those things because guess what? Those things can go, but how you think and how you carry yourself would always stay with you forever. For me personally, if I had a choice, it's not someone like Kate Fe that should go there and represent. I'm happy he's not representing me, he's representing himself, obviously. But unfortunately, what then happens is kids from the ages of 12 to possibly 22 are the ones that are going to be tuned in more, you know. That's the age, a the age group and kind of age gap. And those are the guys that are they are at the formate um for um formative EM years where whatever they take in is what they start to go with. Yeah, so imagine them just having someone like Kate Fe just doing what it does, man. And already or some of the already know of him because obviously he does the crazy thing, you know. America's like yeah, yeah, yeah, exaggerated things, animated stuff. So already a long time ago, they already because D um what's his name? D what's it D D D D G what the other guy D DG came to Nigeria so they're already aware of it? No, no, no, they're not that's why it's the most obvious thing ever. As soon as he said, Oh, Kaiser Night is coming back to do streamer you a couple weeks ago. I was like, Oh, Katefi is gonna go because yeah, Kaiser Night comes to Nigeria, no, it's too obvious, but all the best thing, man. But I'm just happy that I've stated this on this pod time and time again. No fan, bro. Not a fan. I like him, I like him. I like him. I'm not a fan of antics of the guy. Yeah, of course. Some of you're swinging, but it's antics. Nah, no big fan. Yeah, but we'll see in it. We'll see what happens. We'll be back here again. Salute though, salute salute, man.

SPEAKER_11

Fab, you're not feeling my man at all, bro. You don't feel my man at all. I like him though. I like him though. Let's jump into South Africans, bro. Because South Africans, for some weird reason lately, have Nigerians in their mouth. Pause. Yay.

SPEAKER_13

Would you elect bashita? Yay. That's your sister. My music travel, no visa. Did you hear that? Did you hear that, South African? Yeah, it's your sister. My music travel, no visa. I'm telling you.

SPEAKER_11

Fam, I was just chilling this morning, everything, you know, doing what I was doing, working and everything. A video just came into my phone and everything, yeah. Of this African, I don't know who the fuck this guy is. And my man had all types of Nigerians in his mouth. Raw. You got what I mean? All types of Nigerians in his mouth, bro. He was saying a lot of things from politics to to um immigration. And then where it kind of caught my attention was when he started talking about Afrobeats and how South Africa built Afrobeat and how South Africa and Channolo built the Whiskey, Davido, and Bonaboy. I said, What? I said, what is my guy talking about? And as I was listening to my man, it's like I went through um a time travel shit all the way back to when I was in Nigeria, early 2000s and everything. You know what I mean? Because around that time, man was in secondary school, and I was fortunate enough to be around at that time. The inception of Channel O in Nigeria and all that. But before I jump into all that, and before we jump into what we have to say, because I believe we have a lot to say when it comes to that. Let's play my man and hear what he has to say, yeah? Cool, let's do that. You go bear with us this about three minutes. Three minutes rant. Let's go. Can I go to the toilet for this?

SPEAKER_09

Boycott them. Just like they boycotted us during apartheid and said they're not gonna get involved in Zimbabwe. We should be boycotting all these Zimbabwean festivals, boycotting all these foreign promoters that are using South African arts, and the fact that we've got an industry that stands on its own two feet. You know, you can actually go into a store, you can go into a shopping center and buy a CD. You can't do that in Nigeria. You can't even sell tickets to a show in Nigeria. Asaka's biggest show on the African continent was in South Africa.

SPEAKER_11

Fair.

SPEAKER_09

Right? You saw that show? No. You didn't see it at the Gold Rush Arena, whatever it's called at FNP Stadium. No, I don't remember. It was a sold-out show. Yeah, packed out. You can't do that in Nigeria. You can't? You cannot because who's gonna buy tickets? They're busy in the rice line.

SPEAKER_08

You understand what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_09

Yeah, they're busy chasing trucks with rice. They don't do shows in Nigeria. Who can buy tickets in Nigeria? They've got an indigent population bigger than our population. They've got more people than we've got. They've got more poor people than we have people. You understand what I'm saying? Well, a large population, that's what I'm saying. I'm just thinking poor. Those population that's unprotected. The girls get stolen in the schools, Boko Haram is in invading, you've got insurgents, terrorists, bombing people, bombing churches, blowing up things. Everything that is a disaster can be shown in Nigeria. Facts. Facts. And how do they get rewarded? They get rewarded by selling the potential of numbers by scamming the world, right? And not giving us credit. All of these artists need to give us credit. When I was talking about Davido needing to give credit, you know, I wasn't talking about myself, I was talking about my friend Eli Lubala. You know what I mean? Yeah, he's one of the guys that helped put Davido on. South Africa helped put all of these guys on. These guys didn't have anything before the channel over. All of them are our products. All of them are our products. And what do they do? They get famous in Europe, they get famous in countries where they think that we cannot touch them. And then what do they do? They denigrate us, they shit on our names. That's what they do. So we need to boycott these motherfuckers. That's it. As African artists, go and perform in Europe. They don't care that you're chasing out illegal immigrants. They're just doing the same thing in that country. Go perform there. Go perform in the United States. Go there and say, Yeah, I support ICE. Go and do that. Forget about these broke ass nations. All these concerts are funded by dirty, corrupt politicians, the same ones we're trying to get out of power in our country. Why should we be supporting the same thing that's gonna turn us into those countries? The way Nigeria is, right, is like a kid that eats McDonald's. You don't love yourself, you don't take care of your own condition. No one can love and respect you if they see you putting shit into your body. Do you understand what I'm saying? They cannot.

SPEAKER_05

Oh you go in.

SPEAKER_11

Listen, my man was saying a lot. My man was saying a lot. Apart from the whole politics thing, immigration thing and there thing, let's keep that aside. Because most of the shit that he was saying when it comes to that, I kinda agree. You go I mean, like when it comes to the whole politicians thing, when it comes to people getting kidnapped and everything, I hear it. He's not lying when it comes to that. But the funny thing when it comes to saying things with passion, some of the things you are gonna bulk in truths and lies differentiating there. So we're gonna strip it out and let's talk about Afro Bates, Channel O South Africa, and all that that he was talking about. You know what I mean? Because it's a very interesting topic that I don't think a lot of people have really talked about. You know, and a lot of people have forgotten about it. Because it goes, it plays a very vital role to where we are today as a culture in regards to Afrobeats. You know what I mean? Because when I hear my man talk. I had to go back. I had to think back to I was in Nigeria at the time. I was in Nigeria at the time. You know what I mean? And this is coming from somebody who sat here. I've given my praise to I'm a piano, I'm a piano event. I still stand by it. I prefer I I prefer Amapiano events to Afrobeat events. That's me. You know what I mean? I've been to South Africa many times. Love the place, the culture, all that shit. I fucking enjoy it. You know what I mean? But when I hear this guy chat the shit that he's chatting, I'm like thinking, fam, you sound so fucking ignorant. You don't even know what the fuck you're talking about. But it's not your fault. Because you are seeing it from your perspective as a South African. Now let me tell you the real shit that happened. You get what I mean? I was in secondary school at the time. You get what I mean? Channel O, there were two things happening at the same time. In 2005, Channel O became a thing in South Africa. It was 2004, 2005. You know what I mean? Now, you are saying that channel O pushed this artist. Let me tell you what Channel O did. Channel O flooded Nigeria with South African artists, South African music. You go, I mean, we didn't give a fuck about South African music like that. You go, I mean, we started hearing about Dallas. You know Dallas.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

That's when we started hearing about them. You go, I mean, we only cared about Brendan Farsi and all them people, bruv. We didn't care. We didn't give a fuck about South African music. We were doing our shit in Nigeria. What Channel O was doing was 90 95% of the songs on Channel O were South African songs. Then they might do a token, you know, American hip hop here and there. And then the person that's at the top that's really popping in Nigeria, they might play. And at that time, it was the band. Two face. It was the band and two-phase and everything. You go I mean, but at that time, on the other side of the coin, there was something called MTV Base. You go I mean, MTV Base was pushing local Nigerian artists to the world stage, to the international eyes, and everything. That's what MTV Base was doing. Channel O was pushing African music and African acts into Nigeria while MTV Base was doing the opposite, pushing Nigerian acts to the world. You go, I mean, and from 2005 up until about 2007, 2008, when they now did MTV Base African Music Awards. Yeah, that's when everything blew up. You go what I'm saying? And people forget the person that brought MTV Base to Africa was a man by the name of, I believe it's Alex Um Okosi. He is the YouTube, um, the Google guy right now, Google Africa, wherever the case is. He is the one that brought MTV Base to Africa. You go, I mean, and that was when Two Faced Debia, Africa and Queen, popped off. So when I hear this dickhead saying whatever he's saying, you get what I mean? Bro, you can talk about politics, you can talk about immigration, you know, illegal immigration, whatever. Cool, have all that. But when it comes to this music thing, bro, just shut your mouth up, bruv. You go, I mean, you sound like an imbecile, bruv. You go, I mean, about channel O did what? What did Channel O do on channel O, all we're seeing was fucking South Africans doing doing the fucking dance and everything. You got what I'm saying? We enjoyed it. That shit was fun. I I I love the legwork and shit. You go, I mean, but don't come here and talk about channel O did this. Channel O played this vital role. We salute Channel O. You know what I'm saying? But don't, but you but you're chatting to someone who was there. And this is way before Sound City because I saw people talking about Sound City. Yeah, bro. This is way before Sound City, bruv. This is way before Trace.

SPEAKER_13

Trace, yeah, Trace. This is way before Trace TV, bruv. Because Sound City, Trace, they even made it to the decor. Um, they made it to the skybox.

SPEAKER_11

You go saying so when these guys chatting all that, bruv. I'm like thinking, fam, what are you even chatting about? You sound crazy.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, you're right. You're right. Obviously, I think again, it's a case of well, guys, he's pretty much said everything. Anyone that was around at that time or that was into music would know about. So well done, sir. I liked it. Fam, I was there. Yeah, I know. I know that's how it feels when you're there and someone is telling you that that didn't happen. You're like, huh?

SPEAKER_11

And someone is trying shit like that. Fam, the new kids might believe what you're saying.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, it goes back to what I said earlier. This is exactly what it is. See what he's saying, as much as he sounded very ignorant. The truth is he's seen what he's saying is from his own perspective. Remember, we talked about Kata Efe. That's what people would see in years to come. Oh, Africans have not really progressed, they're still rubbing stuff on their faces, blah blah blah blah blah. Now back to this China O stuck stuff. Yes, China O did contribute to the distribution of Nigerian music. China O never did anything for Afro, but that didn't even exist at that time. Let's just make it clear. Nigerian music was the thing that was pushed to other parts of Africa that had access to you know, what's it called again? Um DSTV. And you know, from DSTV you can watch your channel. DSTV back in the day, yeah. That's what they did. They contributed to the distribution of the music, which is fine. But MTV Base did a lot of the you know heavy lifting. But shout out to Channel O for giving people the idea. I would say I'm like, oh wow, we could do this, you know. But my man just said all he said because of course, right now we can tell anyone that heard that clip, you know he's talking from a very emotional point. But guess what? He's not emotionally intelligent. No, because the thing is, if he was emotionally intelligent, he would say the politics the political side of things, cool. Now the musical side, he would just easily say things like to be fair, I feel we I feel like we contributed to the rise of Nigerian music. But this whole you gave birth to Burner Boy, no, yeah, you're right. In terms of you didn't give birth to him, but you again helped push Burner Boy to the fray. Because a lot of people didn't really take to Burner Boy as Nigerians, but yeah, South Africa did a lot. Listen, if anyone deserves credit for you know for big massive growth of Bernard Boy's career, definitely South Africa. He was there for a while, he was pushing his music, and he was killing stuff, yes, for real. But I'm hearing things like you guys give birth to whiskey.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, but but when you say that as well, Ghana can come out and say, Yeah, we also played played a role when it comes to um to Bernard Boy as well. He was in Ghana for some time.

SPEAKER_13

No, no, no, you you will see it in the comments. No country, uh apart from the UK, obviously, played a pivotal role more than South Africa for Burner Boy.

SPEAKER_11

We're gonna clip this one now and and see and see what we see.

SPEAKER_13

I promise you, to those that know what I'm talking about, you know. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_11

No, he was in South Africa, but Ghana can still be able to do that.

SPEAKER_13

Ghana did not play. I promise you, Ghana did not play the same role as South Africa. Trust me, Burner Boy is pause, massive in South Africa. And at that time, he wasn't even close to being as massive in his own country, Nigeria. So, you know, shout out to that's where the link up with aka and all these other artists. Yeah, like my brother was when he was there as for his uni, he even said he went for a concert, uh Bernard Boy's concert in South Africa. And at that time, I don't think Bernabo has even done a concert like that in his own country. So on that one, I can't really argue. I can argue about the verbiage, the the semantics, the context, and the the way he worded it. But yes, even Bernaboy looked back and go, Yeah, no, see, no, see, that might be true and everything.

SPEAKER_11

I wasn't really tapped in into what was happening in South Africa at the time and everything. But when it comes to the whole channel O thing, bro, oh yeah, no, so Channel One is Waffling. I was there. You go, I mean, my man is waffling, bro. You know what I mean? Because I know when Channel O came on our TV, yeah. You got me the first time he came on and all that. What we're getting was more of South African music, you know, all them boys dancing in the townships and all that kind of shit with the hats and everything. You got me the what's it called? The white of music and all that. You get me like bro, we were getting all that. You got what I'm saying? Now they might pick out a token Nigerian artist, which was probably maybe P Square. Peacequare was popping at the time, or the band Mohits, they were popping at the time. Yeah, you get me. You just put the commercial song. You go I'm saying the commercial song, but it was 96% South African, maybe 2% American hip hop, and then maybe one or two percent of you what I'm saying, but it was MTV base, bro. It was MTV base that did the opposite, like pushing local Nigerian artists to the international scenes and all that stuff. You go I'm saying it was MTV base that actually did the work and all that, yeah, you know, and it was a Nigerian guy, Alex Okosi, that did the whole thing.

SPEAKER_12

Factory.

SPEAKER_11

So when I was listening when I was listening to this guy, I was shaking my head thinking, bro, y'all are here lying to people that probably don't even know their fucking history and all that shit, sounding all passionate, you know, cussing out and everything. Cool. You can say whatever you want to say about immigration, you know, corrupt politicians, yeah, the terrorism in Nigeria and everything. Cool. Even though, listen, the crime rate in South Africa is is also massive as well. So let's not even talk about that. You go, I mean, I've been to South Africa, I went to to um what's the number of this township code? Um oh my god, I've forgotten what it's called. So it oh no, no, no, no, no, no. Literally just at the outskirts of of Cape Town. Oh yeah, bro. I went to a party there. The party was buzzing and everything, all that shit was crazy. But listen, they say to me, fam, keep all your jewelries at home, don't even wear your watch and all that shit. You get what I'm saying? Because you might get fucking robbed, bro. You get me? So the crime rate in South Africa is what it is as well. You get what I'm saying? Them people are uh fucking. I I would even use the word I want to use in there, but they will pop you quickly.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, of course, of course.

SPEAKER_11

You got what I'm saying, they don't play around over there. So when my man is talking about crime and all that shit, maybe you should also look in your house as well, guys.

SPEAKER_13

Yeah, these guys, man, but you know what I'm saying? Maybe you should look in your house as well. Next time do not upset my guy, yeah? Mind how you speak.

SPEAKER_11

You got what I'm saying, my man here trying shit, and I love South Africans, bruv. You get me? I still go to events and then I'm a penny event. Like my favorite DJs out there is major leagues, bruv. You get what I'm saying? I fuck with uh Mafare as well, bruv. You get what I'm saying? I fuck with all these guys in there.

SPEAKER_13

Maybe a certain person has to learn from you how to be objective.

SPEAKER_15

It is what it is, it is what it is.

SPEAKER_13

Can look at the fruit, yeah, man. But listen, it is what it is, but shout out to everyone involved, bro. For real, man. Shout out to every single person dogs, cats, frogs, spider, flies, everyone involved. Yeah, bro.

SPEAKER_11

Family, it's been a good one.

SPEAKER_13

I'm not gonna lie, it's been a good one, man.

SPEAKER_11

It's been a good one. I am cooking in here, bro.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

I am cooking in here. When I tell people that we don't have ACs, yeah, people think I'm lying. Yeah, I need to go. But I need to buy an AC.

SPEAKER_13

I need to go weed. That's the most important thing.

SPEAKER_11

I need to buy an AC and that, bro. I'm telling you, I know, I know, I know you're laughing. I know you're laughing, but next year, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_13

I need to get an AC too. I'm gonna say I've got a fan, that's fine, but yeah, but the fans are blowing hot though, innit? Of course, at some point the fans go, brother. Fam, just the same way you're hot. I am hot as well, bro. I'm hot as well, man.

SPEAKER_11

Well, before we leave, black ones have finally replied um the modi black.

SPEAKER_13

Oh, yeah, so that nonsense.

SPEAKER_11

You get me talking about two billion.

SPEAKER_13

It's only Nigeria they just make they make jest of the law, man. You get me? Two billion. It's not even a serious thing, bro. Man say I'll sue you, and they don't take you seriously. Over here, when someone says sue, eh, you won't be able to sleep for five days.

SPEAKER_11

Fab, you know what the funny thing is, yeah. My man dropped the letter there if you're talking about information there if he yeah, or the module blood came out, bro, and still say, Yo, you you committed the assault. You I'm still saying I was like, You're gonna love Odio. You must have you must have some evidence with you out there, bro. Yeah, I mean, my man is not even standing down, these guys they just make jest of it, man.

SPEAKER_13

It's a crazy thing because the way they say sue, everyone can sue, bro, in that country. Only in that country they have the highest number of sue cases, and bro, and no one is doing nothing about it, and no one gets sued.

SPEAKER_11

I saw that shit. I just shipped my head of there, man. I said, I said, bro, listen, just just uh wake me up when you guys finally get to call. Fact, bro. And then the case starts and everything, and then someone someone goes to jail, yeah, man. You get me, you know. But listen, bro. It's been a good one. It's fantastic, it's time to get out of here.

SPEAKER_13
