The Last Eleven Days of Earl Durand

The Last Eleven Days of Earl Durand chronicles the legendary 1939 manhunt for Wyoming outlaw Earl Durand, known as the “Tarzan of the Tetons.” Blending history, myth, and local memory, the series revisits how one young man’s final days shook a community and became Western folklore. The podcast is hosted by Jerred Metz, author of the book The Last Eleven Days of Earl Durand and features interviews with a variety of individuals with unique perspective to story and legacy of Earl Durand.

Jerred Metz

Jerred Metz, earned a Ph.D. in literature and philosophy from the University of Minnesota. He has taught literature and writing at several universities. He has had several careers in addition. Five books of poetry—Speak like Rain, Angels in the House, The Temperate Voluptuary, Brains, 25 Cents: Drive In, and Three Legs up, Cold as Stone: Six Legs down, Blood and Bone, three of non-fiction prose—Drinking the Dipper Dry: Nine Plain-Spoken Lives; Halley’s Comet, 1910: Fire in the Sky, and The Last Eleven Days of Earl Durand have been published. His novel, The Angel of Mons: A World War I Legend,appeared in 2014.
