Hello everyone and welcome back to the Right Path Podcast, where being an author, an actual author, still matters. This is the podcast that is for authors, it's about authors, and it's done by an author. And folks, this is where we share our journeys. We explore our creativity, and more than that, we examine the why behind it all. All right, get ready to dig in. This is gonna be fabulous. I have had the opportunity to read this book. I don't always get the chance, uh, because you know, you all know I do about 12 interviews a day. Uh, but this lady sent it to me a long time ago and then scheduled out, and it gave me a chance to really kind of dig into what she's all about. It is fantastic, and I don't get to like review books very often, but you really want to pick this up, uh, especially if you're interested in the subject material, and I bet you are. So, folks, please welcome to our show, the author of the Arcanum series, and we're gonna talk more about that. I got to listen or watch, goodness gracious, my mouth has just left me today. I got to read. Let's go with that. I got to read book one in the temple shadows. Um, this lady is a global tarot card reader, she's an intuitive channeler, and again, author of this series. Please welcome Kelly O'Hearn. Kelly, how are you doing today?

SPEAKER_02

Hi, Rory. Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

So sorry for that horrible introduction. No, it was it was perfect.

SPEAKER_00

I appreciate it.

SPEAKER_01

Don't normally fall over myself like that, but you know, folks, that's just how much I like the book. Okay. So it just threw me off a little bit. Kelly, I tell you what, um, let's just get started with tell everybody a little bit about Kelly O'Hearn. Uh, what are you about and kind of what brings you to doing all of this today?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I mean, historically, I the last thing I would ever have imagined I would be would be an author. I am um born and raised in the in New York City. Um, I have always had more of a science and math brain, um, many different businesses throughout my life and interests. Um, and the most connected one to what I do now would be the wine business because that has such intuitive crossover in terms of the nuances of wine through all the senses that are required to do that work. But I now reside in Florida. I have two adult sons. Um, and in out of a very severe and difficult personal crisis, what I think a lot of people now call Dark Knight of the Soul chapter, um I discovered the tarot. And it was just as a it was just as a distraction to help me not think about the reality that I was going through. Um, but lo and behold, Spirit had a different plan for me. And I now sit here with an incredible global business of clients around the world. I call myself an intuitive channeler, and what I mean by that, which I think is an important understanding for your audience to know, is I have the capacity to read and translate and share where per someone's energy is, their frequency and vibration that they're putting out into the field of life. But I cannot read anybody's mind. It's a very important distinction because a lot of people come to that work thinking they want their future told. Um, and I don't believe in predicting the future. However, I am very, very consistent and get great results because I help align someone's frequency with the result they want. And life will not give us anything unless we're an energetic match. So the books came out of all of my tarot just enjoyment. I mean, it's just a fun, you know, tool to have. Um, and uh by channeling my past lives using my tarot cards is how Arcanum came to be.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. I mean, that's so much to unpack right off the bat. Uh and I and I love it. Let me let me ask you a couple of questions about all that if that's okay. Of course. Um, the um uh the the the part where you said I don't get into you know predicting the future, you know, type of thing. The now I know a lot of folks do come to tarot readings because they're trying to do just that. They're going, hey, you know, what what do I do about my job? Uh, how do I how do I handle this? What choice should I make? You know, give me a yes or no, you know, that type of thing. Um, how do you sort of put those two things together?

SPEAKER_02

Well, the one thing I can tell you is when you are in a state of mind and a state of fear, because when you want to know the feature, the future, that tells me immediately that I'm dealing with someone who has a lot of fear. Because wanting to know the future means wanting to have control. And control is the antithesis of manifesting what you wish. So let's just say, I mean, look, we have, you know, most people, no one comes to me uh for a tarot reading when life is going swimmingly, right? You know, they they there's a there's something that is a you know a pebble in their proverbial shoe. So let's just take um love. I just had a breakup. Is he coming back to me? I need to know, is he coming back? Will I ever get him back? Think about that very ask. We've all most of us have asked that over the course of a life, especially, you know, most of us have gone through some sort of heartbreak. And what that tells me is I can honestly say to that person, no, they're never coming back if you stay in the vibration where you are. Because think about the vibration that that exact question puts out into the field, is that you don't have that person in your life now. The life doesn't give us what we want, it gives us what we are. So when you are in a state of lack and separation from the desire that you have, and I love desire, I've got I am ambitious, I want things. However, I have to be in the emotional, mental, energetic receptivity of that thing. So my job is to help that person release their need for control over the narrative of the future and just accept what is right now. And that's why I will say I have a really, really high percentage of making sure my clients eventually get what they want.

SPEAKER_01

Love every minute of that. I've never even considered that perspective on it. That if you're asking, you know, about the future, it's because you're afraid of it. That's why you're asking in the first place. Just that right there sets the stage to a completely different level of, you know, hey, you know, genie, what's my future? type of you know, nonsense that we'll kind of go into this stuff with. Um wow.

SPEAKER_02

Well, let me just put it to you this way, and this will be really helpful for those of your audience that really love manifestation and and have desires.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Language is really important. And again, it's okay to want things, but I I I implore your audience that when they are stating something out about a desire, change the language. And it's a huge first step. Instead of saying, Oh, I want to get a raise at my job. I really want a raise. I don't want you to ask it that way because all that says to life is, oh, you want it, so you don't have it. So we're going to give you more experiences, situations where you still stay in the wanting of it. Rather than saying, God, it feels so good to get a raise. You see the difference? It's subtle, but it's really powerful because all of a sudden, with the consistency of that language, you will slowly shift your vibration and life will be like, oh, we're going to give you situations that satisfy that good feeling. And then you'll get your raise.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And that's, I mean, that's almost textbook manifestation at the beginning of that, you know, in terms of you have to make room and you have to ask for it to come in and uh so on. People miss a lot of those steps.

SPEAKER_02

I want everything to be in the present tense.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Being that at the moment is what so many of us miss. Correct. Yeah, interesting. Wow. I love, I love all this. Okay. So we haven't even gotten into the book yet. Um, and I'm already learning stuff. So you told me I was gonna learn a lot today, and we're five minutes in. Um the uh the book itself is based upon um you um exploring past lives. And was it past life regression? Am I saying that correctly?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, it was it was born out of a past life regression that I did in 2017. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. No, I haven't, and this is just my limited knowledge of this, but I haven't heard that connected with, you know, tarot or even with channeling. Is that a a separate discipline, or is that work alongside with both of those? And I just don't know it.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I mean, but both are true of the of what you just asked, because tarot is its own unique divination tool. But because tarot is the uh divination tool of the our energetic body, our soul, the part of us that never ceases to exist, it also is gives us insight as to where this soul has been of ours. Because remember, it's eternal, it has no beginning, middle, or end. So if you want to specifically look into the into and have a question about what other experiences in my soul's existence that kind of that have happened, especially in this realm of humanity, in this third-dimensional reality that we are experiencing on earth. Remember, creation existence has many different dimensions of reality. We just have a third-dimensional experience of it. So it is possible to use tarot as a past life understanding. Do I know with a hundred percent certainty with my human brain that it's factual and accurate? No, the only reason I know it to be true for me in terms of experiencing my past lives is just how it lands, you know, that resonance. It's you know, with energy, one of the catchphrases of any energetic practitioner being a psychic, an astrologer, or tarot card reader, is does it resonate? Then you can kind of feel the truth of it because the body is the best communication we have for connecting to the divine, whatever that is for you.

SPEAKER_01

Sure. The um now you mentioned that you went through sort of a dark night of the soul, you know, um, situation. I don't know if you want to talk about that. You're welcome to. Um, but I'm curious what led you into all of this work in the first place.

SPEAKER_02

So here I am, 2012, about 45 years old, minding my own business, raising my children, having a grand time, loved my life. And all of a sudden, this uh health journey befalls me. And it thankfully it wasn't catastrophic. But at the now in this day and age, Rory, we have the knowledge of autoimmune breakdowns. You know, we've got all these uh names now for all of it, you know, uh Crohn's and lupus, and you know, just they're just a cocktail of autoimmune challenges.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Well, in 2012, they didn't have this, you know, this definition for it all. But through a lot of hard work and a lot of research and amazing alternative practitioners, I was able to heal over the course of about two years. Sorry, my leaf blower just came up. So, anyway, in the course of healing my body, I realized that my marriage was dying on the vine. And it was really scary for me because I loved my family. The four of us as a unit was my greatest joy. Um, but unfortunately, the the relationship with my now ex-husband was in peril. At the same time, my father was dying. So think about all these structural foundational truths, right? You know, you're you're not your my father was a wonderful person too. Like he was not a father, I a dad I wanted to lose. Um, but then my husband, also another, you know, masculine foundational security for me. So it really led me into a free fall, which is the name of my LLC. And I was in a store and I was looking for something, a crystal for my bedside, just something to hold on to. And I saw this tarot card reader in the store and I'd never done it. Of course, I've heard of it, but at this point I was probably 47 and I'd never done it. And I bought my first deck right then and there, and I kept it a secret for three and a half years, and I just studied the tarot, because remember, tarot is a language. So just like you would study French or Italian or you know, whatever language intrigues you, I studied the tarot. Um, and I finally, and I'll be honest, I kept it a secret because I was a bit embarrassed. You know, I was afraid of judgment, you know, from my upbringing and where I was born and raised, and you don't do tarot, right? It's not, it's not ever talked about. It's it's not, and I mean, now I know because everybody, when I when I came out of what I call the proverbial tarot closet, everybody was like, oh my God, I love stuff like that, you know, da-da-da-da-da. So I was completely embraced and and beloved by everyone that I care about. Um, but it just grew and grew inside of me. And then finally, when I started sharing my just fun readings for friends, everyone was like, oh my God, this is incredible. You have to start a business. So I did.

SPEAKER_00

Nice.

SPEAKER_02

Here we are eight years later now, and I have clients on every continent except Antarctica, and it just grew through word of mouth. I don't advertise my tarot readings, I do have a website, but you don't know about me unless you know someone that knows about me. So I only grow through I only grow through referrals.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. Okay. That's and through intention, it sounds like. Yes. So I love that. Okay. The um that tarot reading is a uh, I guess I would consider it a skill, uh, something that you learn, something you study, you know, like you said, like a language. Um, channeling, a little different. Uh, you have to have a gift of some kind there, I think, don't you? Or is that something you can actually learn?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, every all of us are channelers. Listen, we all come in, God willing, but most of us, the majority of us come in with 10 toes, the same skeletal makeup, right? Cells that multiply all the time. So we have this physiological truth. We all come in with the capacity to learn through the mental body, memorization. Again, not everybody, but the majority of human beings. Some human beings do have a destined path of more of a challenge. But, you know, so we have the capacity to learn, to memorize, to read, to learn, to speak, um, to do multiplication, all those things. So we have mental capacity. We all have come in with emotions, all these different emotions. Love, fear, I like all of the myriad of emotions that make us it's so wonderful and colorful to be human. We all come in with energetic capability. What I do, anyone can do. So if I want a nice bicep, I have to pick up the dumbbell and do the curl. I have exercised my intuitive muscle all of these years. The more you tune in to your energetic truth, that your soul, whatever it is, your frequency, you know, through meditation, through any mindfulness practice that you wish, just a quick check-in. It doesn't have to be a long time. The more you open up to what I call my guides, you know, it's, you know, now my clairvoyance, my clair audience, my clairsentience, all the clairs, that is what is the language we use as as English speaking uh humans, is just the great best description. But you can do what I do, I promise.

SPEAKER_01

Interesting. Okay. The um, so from the tarot card to the channeling, um, when we're talking about the past life regression, is that a form of channeling?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yes.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Right. All right. Because remember, energy never ceases to exist, it only changes form, right? We have that as a rule of physics that we all learned in grammar school.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So the the truth of us, of our eternal self, is pure energy. And so it's if if I when I tap into the right, and we're back.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry, everybody. We had a little technical difficulty there. I guess, you know, hey, somewhere out here, the spirit doesn't want this conversation happening on my show. But you know what? We're gonna power through anyway, because this is important stuff. Um, and you guys all know I don't edit. So here we go. Uh, I'm sitting here with uh Kelly O'Hearn, and I had just asked her this awesome question, and I can't wait to get the answer for it. Um, in terms of um, you know, doing tarot card reading and intuitive channeling, and I had asked you, is the past life regression a form of channeling and how does that kind of work? And you were getting ready to give me like a Pulitzer Prize winning answer. So I'm ready.

SPEAKER_02

Um, to answer your question, yes, uh past life regression is pure channeling, regardless of the practitioner or specialist that you hire, simply because obviously, when we are born, um, we have a soul, uh, and what I call an energetic body. That energetic body is the truth of us. And and so there is experiences that that soul has, and you know, he's mostly what we like to think of it in human life, but there's myriad of other experiences that I can channel and find out by working with the energetic reality of my client's soul, or mine, in the instance of Arcana. Again, I will reiterate do I 100% know that it's factual? I do not. So when I when I when you channel and say, like a past life, for instance, um, in book one, the uh in the temple shadows you reference, it's a it's a past life in ancient Egypt. So there are themes and trends and emotions and and um visuals that I get over, you know, to explain to the client or to myself, you know, the themes of the life, what why you were there, what was going on, what lesson was meant to be learned, perhaps what karmic cycle was ignited, that you are still trying to settle the karmic score in this lifetime, for instance. Um, but regardless, channeling does allow any practitioner the ability to get out of linear time. Remember, linear time is a man-made construct. We need a 24-hour day, we need a 365-day year, we need a 24-hour, you know, that clock in order to not sink into chaos. But linear time doesn't exist where I work. So the past life is as real to me as if I was trying to channel for you in your in your current life as Rory.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. So when you set about to um do this past life regression, was there a a reason or something you were trying to accomplish, or were you just exploring and kind of called to go do it?

SPEAKER_02

No, so I I'm a businesswoman and and business is very comfortable for me. So when I when all of this tarot um possibility came into my life and I was being encouraged to start a business, again, I was still on earth, how do I charge for this, right? Like, will people actually pay? So I went and booked um experiences and appointments with all kinds of different reputable energy workers. Now, what I mean by that is I booked a session with a psychic, an astrologer, a numerologist, uh, the Enneagram, like just to, I mean, it was fun for me because I love this type of work, but mostly to see how they run their business. What payment platform do they use? How do they hold their sessions when it's not in like shared space? Um, and one thing I did was a past life regression. And in that experience, this breathtaking woman who was incredible, she told me that I'm currently in a karmic cycle of being a woman in the company of very powerful men, but never as the wife, always as the mistress, the muse, or the mystic. So I took that, like, and you know, and I was kind of insulted. I was like, what do you mean I'm not wife worthy? Come on, you know, but in in 2020, when we were all at home, um, I took that premise and I said to my cards, I said to my guides, okay, what were these past lives? Who were these powerful men? And how how did my news energy, mystic capabilities, you know, or mistress acceptance play out? And that's the theme of Arcana. Is it's really because as you read, the heroine Sarah in modern day New York City is on a you know journey to remember her value, to find her voice, and to know she's worthy of a life that that is meant for her. She doesn't have to play a role in order to please everybody else so she doesn't rock the boat. Um, and so the past lives were very supportive of the modern day life of Sarah Fuller in New York City.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. You know, one question I usually ask authors is whether or not the main character is them. In this case, you have done several deep dives into uh past life regressions, and you based your book series, Arcanum, on these different past life regressions. And what you told me was you had eight uh regressions that you did. You planned six books from that, you decided on four, uh sort of the the best four that you wanted to do. And so this is a limited series, but each of these uh stories and heroines is you in a past life.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the past life I I did not alter at all. I mean, I you know, and and Rory, I have over 40 or 60 hours of Zoom, because I recorded it all on Zoom when I was doing it. So I literally would go back and get more and more and more layers. So the entire past lives have been completely created. I just had to I have to add dialogue and et cetera, et cetera. So that's very much based on the truth of my soul, as it was shown to me. The in the modern day timeline, because there it's a dual timeline um experience in my books. I I I'm not exactly Sarah Fuller. Now the themes are mine. But I the rest of it has been fictionalized. Yes, I grew up in New York City, so that part is true. You always write about what you know.

SPEAKER_00

Sure.

SPEAKER_02

Um, but I never, you know, I'm I'm not the CEO of a, you know, international fragrance company. I don't, you know, I uh so she's kind of a she's her what she's going through is based on me, but her the framework of her life is is fictionalized.

SPEAKER_01

Got it. That was another thing that struck me. Um you weren't writing these as nonfiction accounts of the regression that you went through. You took the regression and then you turned it into a fictional story.

SPEAKER_00

Correct.

SPEAKER_01

Um, that's difficult to do in the writing world, and you've done it very, very well. Um, what gave you that idea to present it that way? You know, where did that come from?

SPEAKER_02

So this is the the this is a case in point of where naivete can really be a friend. Where ignorance is bliss.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, right?

SPEAKER_02

Um, I do not like writing. I've never considered myself a writer. I don't journal. Uh, you know, like as I said to you in our as we were chatting before we started, you know, in you know, back in school when they would say we had to do a book report, I mean, it was just painful for me. So you don't know what you don't know. So it's interesting for me to hear you say that that is a difficult thing for writers to do, to take that and fictionalize it, because I I haven't even it hasn't been a challenge for me because I don't I don't know why that would be hard, right? Because I don't know anything about writing. So all I can tell you is when you channel something, think about think about when you're in a in a situation where you get a really bad feeling about a person or a situation, or you're like, you know what, I'm not gonna get on this plane today. I have a really bad feeling. You don't know why, it's just an instinct, it's a hunch. That's your intuition talking to you. That's your intuition, right? It's our hunches. So because the experience of channeling my past lives was so real, I felt it in my body, I would start crying. I had the emotional experience of reliving the reality of that life. So I had a complete somatic experience. It was so easy for me to just sit down and write the story. It's it's it's uh it lives within me. So it's like recounting a tale of what like some great thing that happened to me last week to a best friend. That's kind of what I'm doing for my readers, is like, you know, look, this is what happened to me. I gotta tell you all about it.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. So, in terms of your process and how you got this, you know, from concept into the book form, um, it's re-watching the it's what you went through, of course, uh, you know, and participating in it yourself. Um, did you remember a lot of it, or did you have to go back and and watch the Zoom and then like I'm gonna watch Zoom and then I'm gonna go record it and write it down?

SPEAKER_02

This is what's amazing because I did these channels in 2020, like I said, started in April of 2020, and I probably finished them in late 2020, you know. Um, and I started writing this book in 2022, and it was the first book was published in 2024. I've never gone back to watch a Zoom. Now I did pay someone to take all the videos and make detailed outlines for me.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And I also have this incredible co-writer. So and so Kate Hensler Fogarty, she's a professional writer, right? She's a professional. So I gave her the manuscript for book one. I didn't even know where the quotation marks went. Like I didn't, I I I really I don't know anything about writing. So Kate is my, she's my like, she's my guardrails. She's my, you know, I just have such deep respect for this woman. And, you know, so she she's constantly checking the outlines to make sure the authenticity of the story is translated well. Because as you can see, I'll just riff. The way I speak is the way I write. And so it's very stream of consciousness, it's literally channeled. Um, and so, but I've never gone back to watch a Zoom video. It it lives, it lives within me now. So it's so easy for me to tell the story.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. There, there's a lot of descriptive uh verbiage in this book. Uh the setting is done very well. Um, is that you recounting something uh from your past or an image that you're seeing, or is that really just you creating an image for the fictional body of the work?

SPEAKER_02

That's more created. You know, I know how it feels. So I, you know, so reach like the research has to be done to say, okay, you know what? I know as a child, like we'll take again, since we're using just book one for right now as an example in the temple shadows, it's ancient Egypt. So I knew the the character of my soul, Sarah, who's who it turns out to be the mystic to the pharaoh, was born, she wasn't born in the royal family. So research had to be done. What did those villages look like in that time, you know, when you were outside of the graces of the pharaoh and the palace and all that stuff? So that's research. Um, and in book two with the French Renaissance, that was research. But as someone who loves history, that's just a joy. And um, I always knew how the environment felt. Like in this in the second book, Whispers in the Forest, I knew it was the Fountain Blue Forest. I just knew it was a forest, and there was a great palace or or home for the king of France. So it was my research that said, oh, it's it's gotta be Fountain Bleu because there's the famous forest there, the chateau would have been built at that time. But it's not like I was told in the channeling you were living at Chateau Fontainebleau. So those are decisions I've had to make subsequently.

SPEAKER_01

I see the distinction, and I appreciate you laying that out that way. Um, you know, one of the things that that always uh comes up to me whenever I'm especially if I'm reading the book and not just, you know, sort of uh reviewing it, you know, in parts or something like that. But the whenever we as authors set up set down to write something, and I I understand you don't consider yourself like an author at this point.

SPEAKER_00

And it's like good for you.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not a writer. There you go. Um, but when we are, when we're putting things like this down on paper, uh usually we're writing this uh to somebody or for somebody, um, for a reason, that type of thing. As you were putting these out there and putting the words on paper, who what are you looking at? Who's the person or the entity that you're writing this to or for?

SPEAKER_02

So at the time, and it has changed since the books have come out, because the demographic and the readership has grown in a way I didn't anticipate, especially with men as well as with younger women. But the the first book opens on the heroines, the protagonist's 40th birthday. So I knew that my readership was really going to be women at that stage in life where you're starting to look at the landscape of the life that where you have had blinders on for all the right reasons. Young children, um, building a business, if that's your path. Um, you know, so you're kind of in the proverbial trenches, if you will. And all of a sudden a little breathing room comes. Your children are older, they don't require as much from you. Uh, your business is established and it's very much in the same groove. And you look around at your life like, oh, well, who am I now in relationship to this life? Because I'm not the woman that started. I haven't really given a lot of consideration to who I was and grown into. And now I'm sitting here like, oh shit. Well, you know, this doesn't work anymore for me, or this doesn't quite fit. And it's not that you have to change anything in your life, but we all go through it. A lot of people call it perhaps a midlife crisis. I just call it a you know, like it's always a rebirth. We're constantly rebirthing ourselves. We have to. I mean, literally every seven years, our cellular structure is completely new. So we're always a new person anyway. But regardless, that was who I was writing it for, was primarily for women who come across a moment in their life, be it relationship, career, um, a health crisis, whatever, where they're given an opportunity to embrace a change and will they have the courage to embrace it? Again, you don't have to change any details in your life. You can stay married, you can, you know, you can stay in your commitments, you don't have to switch jobs, you don't have to switch careers, but you clearly have to change your vibration and frequency in relationship to it.

SPEAKER_01

Well, okay. Um, in the uh dedication of your book, I mean you kind of start off with a mystery in a little bit of a way there, um, because you dedicate it to your two boys, yeah, who you would, of course, you know, be a mother to a million times over, which I thought was absolutely fantastic. Sounded like something my wife would have said. Um, but then you also say, and to you. It's always been you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So uh I guess two questions. Number one, does the you know who it is? Uh, and um the second question would be is it actually a you person, or is this uh sort of a you know, uh amalgamation of people?

SPEAKER_02

I I have to tell you something. Book one came out in 2024, and I've done a lot of podcasts since then. You're the first person that's caught that.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, that surprises me. It's right there.

SPEAKER_02

I know, but a lot of people just kind of gloss past it, and it was such a profound thing for me to channel to write. Um, so no, the person does not know the the you does. Well, it's twofold. Part of the you is me, it's my uh higher self. And because really at the end of the day, the relationship we have with ourselves is the only relationship that's real, and it's the most really important relationship we have. You know, that that gets into a lot of uh quantum physics stuff that is not appropriate here, but um, so that but there is a you that is outside of me, there is a person who's that you, and no, they do not know who they are.

SPEAKER_01

Got it. Okay. I mean, feel free if you want to go ahead and you know, I'm the first one to ask you about it. Do you want to put that out there? No, that'll let the secret out.

SPEAKER_02

If that person ever puts the pieces together, they will be the first person to know that it's that.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. Well, I'm glad I asked you that question. I really am.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, me too. Thank you. I really appreciate you noticing that.

SPEAKER_01

Not at all. My pleasure. Uh for me, when I saw that, that set the tone for everything for me because I went, oh, okay. Got it. Interesting. And then honestly, like page one just sort of bursts into that an entire um uh I don't know, motif, I guess. It just I was ready for the book when I saw that.

SPEAKER_02

So I mean, as you know, Arcanum is primarily a love story, and the tagline for the series is sometimes happily ever after takes more than one lifetime. So, you know, it is it is the the journey of two souls who are what we call soulmates, even though soulmates aren't always lovers. Will they get it right? Um, and uh so I'm I'm just I'm just I can't tell you how thrilled I am that you caught that.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you very much. I'm glad to hear that. Good. All right. Every once in a while a podcaster gets something right. We all try. I do have ten of these though. So, you know, I do I do this. Uh it's not my first real.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, I you're yeah, yeah, you're a professional.

SPEAKER_01

But uh thank you for that. Um there's uh a lot about these the book that I read and about this whole series, it's incredibly unique, not just the way you came up with it, but the way that it um that you take it on. When you when you read any book, uh you get hit right off the bat with either it's a factual book or it's an educational book or it's you know a love story or you know, whatever it might be, but it hits you differently, and you read it in that uh sort of methodology. And immediately this book hit me as something I needed to feel while I was reading it. And I mean, right off the bat, I could feel what the main character was feeling um in so many ways. And a lot of it is the descriptive way it's written, but a lot of it is just the fact that you come right out and say things, um, like, you know, she had had kind of lost herself, and I think you uh sit something filled with darkness or dread, you know, something like that. Pardon me not being able to quote it. Um, you know, you read it as quickly as you can and you want to experience it, but um you just very quickly get into how the character feels and how they're experiencing what they're going through. And so you end up as the reader going along that journey as well. Was that intentional in terms of how you did it, that you want people to feel this book as a you know, as well as read it?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I mean, I I wrote the books based on how I like to feel when I'm reading. I'm a very visual person, hence tarot, because it's a it's also a visual language primarily. Um, so I need to see the picture, I need to watch a movie when I'm reading a book. I need for the the book to be so captivating. I mean, uh mostly fiction or or you know biographies and things like that. But I need to be able to imagine where I am, what it looks like, and create this little imaginary world in my mind's eye. So a lot of that is evoked through, in my opinion, emotions. I mean, good, vivid vocabulary is such a wonderful tool as well. But you you have to, you don't really bond to something unless you feel it. And I wanted it to be relatable. You know, like at the end of the day, one thing I know from working with thousands of people around the world is the human playbook is like six to eight plays. We are all driven by the same reason an abandonment wound, a worthiness wound, a fear of lack, you know, I'm not safe. All these things are what drives us to seek and desire and create the reality that we do. So at the end, it's not that hard to evoke that in a character on a page, because you know, Sarah has a worthiness wound, and that's her primary wound, and a wound that I'm not safe. So, but so many people relate to that. I mean, millions and millions billions of people relate to that. Um, so I definitely wanted to set that tone, especially since um my primary readership are women. Women are just um evolutionary, more emotional. You know, it's it's a requirement as a woman since we are the ones that give birth and we are the ones who have to bond uh in order to keep the human race alive. You know, men have to spread their seed to keep the human race going, women have to, you know, bond emotionally to keep it alive. So, I mean, that's just that's just basic evolution. It's much more complex. But um, so yes, it was very intentional. Um, and from the res the reviews and the comments and the feedback I've gotten, it's landed, which makes me really happy.

SPEAKER_01

Nice, nice. It doesn't surprise me at all. Um, let me uh let me get a little uh into the some of the uh the nuts and bolts of getting the book out. Uh you weren't a writer prior to this entire project, correct? Right. Okay. Correct. So uh what was uh how'd you go about with uh you know getting it uh published? Uh what was the journey like with that? You know, this is where this comes from, this is what I want to put out. Um what was that? What was that like?

SPEAKER_02

So um again, I am not um someone who likes to do anything in isolation. That's why I work with others. Um, that's why I have a team around me. Um, you know, I have this co-writer, amazing woman, Kate Fogarty, and I knew I was going to self-publish. Um, A, I don't have a reputation as a writer, right? You know, I'm a nobody. So even if I were to um, you know, have the grace of receiving some sort of offer from a publishing house, I I knew that there was, there was a possibility that they would just shelve the manuscript for a lot of years, you know, and and fair, they've got a business to run. I get it. I don't take any offense to that. Um, so I was able to put together this incredible team, you know, and and I I founded my own, I'm the publisher. I financed this whole dog and pony show. Um, but I I hired the great graphic designer, um, Pure and Applied, that did the covers. I have this amazing company called Mayfly out of Minneapolis, that they take my manuscript and they turn it into a book. What people failed to realize, which I didn't know, believe me, a lot of this was the proverbial blessing of the skin knee. I made a ton of mistakes with my first book, right? But you learn as you go. I mean, by book three, I've nailed it. The timing, all of it. I got it right this time. But um, Mayfly, you know, you take a manuscript and to make it compatible for the Amazon platform or to print out as a book, it's a whole process that's quite uh intricate and takes time. So, but there are all kinds of incredible supportive assets out there now for self-published authors. Even Amazon KDP will help you translate your manuscript into a book format. Like they'll do it for you. Um, so I I encourage anybody who who is writing and is is it is at a bit at is like at the stage where what do I do next? Like really investigate the self-published opportunities because they're vast and um it makes it so doable.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. Nice. All right. You know, it seems like um back in the day, trying to get a publisher was sort of a great idea because they'd done a lot of work for you. Now everybody that I hear goes to a full full-edged publisher, they still end up having to do all the marketing and everything on their own. And it's kind of like, so why do you have the publisher? Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_02

No, I mean, and I wanted to keep creative control of my brand, you know, because I I have I've launched a big social media campaign around Arcanum, and now my tarot is a part of that since tarot is part of Arcanum. You know, so I didn't want to dilute that or give away creative control at this juncture. Um, you know, and ultimately, I mean, as I said to you, ultimately I see this as some sort of a fabulous visual opportunity for for television or whatever they're called, streaming networks, I think they're called. Yeah. I'm sorry, I don't watch a lot of television. Um, but you know, so I wanted to make sure that the way that I wanted it to be for people's, you know, visual and emotional entertainment was something that I had um uh some sort of control over and say in. Uh because it's it's my emotional body.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, absolutely. I'm glad that you kept control of that. That that's good. Um, the book three comes out on June 9th uh of uh 2026, and uh this will be out before then this episode. So, folks, go check it out. It's coming out on June 9th. All right, I'll make sure this episode gets out there first. Um, but um you have one more after that, right? Um what's the purpose?

SPEAKER_02

One more to go.

SPEAKER_01

What's the purpose of the purpose of the series? What is it you hope to accomplish with this four-book uh publication set?

SPEAKER_02

Well, let me explain to your audience the framework of the series because it's a little different than most series. Um, while they could be standalone books, they are best read in order. The reason being, when you pick up the book, one of the Arcanum books, you will then be introduced to two separate timelines. The the series opens in modern day New York City in the year 2023. And you are introduced to five people, five characters, what I call five souls in the modern day New York lifetime. Primarily the heroine and her soulmate, the love interest, Harry. And then there are three other souls that play a great supporting role: the villain, another man, and another woman. You are then taken back to the past life of the life of ancient Egypt, where those same five souls are living out a life together, all in support of trying to get a soulmates to have divine union, to really fall in love and commit. Now, remember the whole reason for this series was I was told I was always I was never the wife. So my soul had a massive worthiness wound in terms of being worthy of true commitment. Are you with me? Or did we freeze?

SPEAKER_01

No, you're still good. I can still hear you. Can you hear me?

SPEAKER_02

What is going on? Oh, you can still hear me. Okay, good, because you just froze on screen. You're good. So you will, so your readers will see this transpire um throughout the series. Now you need the four books because in one book, maybe a year or so goes by in New York City, even though you go through an entire past life. So at the end of the fourth book, we will find out will Sari and Sari, Sarah and Harry finally get it right? Will they finally come together and consummate this, you know, lifetime, lifetimes of trying to fall in love and commit to each other?

SPEAKER_01

Okay. So you want to the books are in order because they're a progression from one to the next. So people want to be doing it that way.

SPEAKER_02

That's read in order.

SPEAKER_01

Got it, got it, got it. Okay. So when this is all said and done, and people have read all four of them, the what is it you're hoping that the readers take from that?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I want the readers A to be mostly entertained. You know, I want them to say, God, that was a fun read. Um, you know, it is it is just a great, enjoyable, entertaining read. But at the same time, if it evokes consideration, is this person a soulmate of mine? Maybe that's why I I feel so drawn to them. Or maybe also that's why I'm so repelled by them. Remember, soulmates aren't our greatest love, they're our greatest lesson. So that can the fulfill in your life, just a challenge, you know, someone who's Really just a pain, you know. Um, but I want them to consider is there a reason I have am having the experiences I'm having? Maybe I'm settling a karmic debt, you know, whatever. Is you know, is my husband or wife or my lover my soulmate? Maybe not, um, which is fine. But there's also a lot of grace that these books show of like just have grace. Like we we never cease to exist. Yes, do we want to get everything we want in this in this lifetime or Korean? Of course we do, and I wish that for everybody. But an eternity. So if you don't get it exactly the right way, don't worry. You'll it's gonna be okay.

SPEAKER_01

All right, one more little hiccup, but we're back. Here we go, folks. Uh it's just such a fantastic interview. We're covering so many things uh somewhere out there. There's someone who doesn't want this message to get out. I don't know what the deal is, but we're gonna keep on fighting it and make it through.

SPEAKER_02

You're gonna win the day.

SPEAKER_01

That's here you go. Uh Kelly, I appreciate your patience on all this and and uh you know getting the message out. But um the uh I I love what you're doing with the books. Um, do you have a any kind of a date for book four? Or is that you know too far down the road?

SPEAKER_02

No, no. I've I've uh each book has it's I do a book a year, so book four will be summer of 2027.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. Okay. All right. So in the meantime, book three is coming out this summer on June 9th. We've got that. Um one of the uh oh, I want to make sure I get uh some of this out too. How can people find you, reach you, contact information? Let's make sure we get all that covered.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you're so kind, thank you. So I do have a website, arcanumtheseries.com. Um, there is a contact uh information there. Um, one of the best ways to reach me is through my Instagram page, um, which is uh Kelly O'Hearn Author. So I'm on Instagram and Facebook and TikTok. I do free tarot readings for people. Um, I also give a lot of information about the books, the pre-sale opportunities, all those things uh that are coming down the pike. And people can direct message me there as well. And I always reply, always. I'm a very good communicator. It's what I do for my job. So you will always hear back from me if you send me an email or a text. Um so those are my primary platforms as to how to reach me and how to learn about me.

SPEAKER_01

Wonderful. Okay. Um, I usually end with uh this question, and uh, I think this is gonna be interesting too. The um there are a lot of folks who listen to this show who are aspiring authors, you know, who really, really, really want to get their book out. Uh, they want to get published, you know, that type of thing. So, what is your best advice for authors out there who are not quite where you are yet?

SPEAKER_02

Don't overthink it. Like I said earlier in this beautiful conversation, my naivete and my ignorance were my greatest asset in this. And just like anything, I'm I don't know about you, but I love a puzzle. A crossword puzzle, a jigsaw puzzle. I love a puzzle. So I I was completely obtuse about the publishing world. I don't know anything about it, I don't know anybody who works in publishing. So I literally just had to figure it out. And I did. And it was part of the joy of this entire experience for me when I look back, like say five years down the road, is gonna be how proud I am of that. Right. So there are so many opportunities out there for aspiring authors. Now, my best advice is just sit your ass in the chair and start typing. We all have a story to tell. So don't overthink it. Don't, don't try and outline it, just start and let it pour out of you. It lives within you. You have to trust that. Um, because I mean, I don't know about you, but sometimes if I overthink something, something, I often will think myself right out of it, you know, or rationalize my way into a delay. So with all the process, just be curious and adjust inquire, even if it's just one inquiry a day to learn something new about the process, that's progress.

SPEAKER_01

Nice, nice, great advice. Absolutely great advice. I know you would give me kind of a mic drop moment there at the end. So I appreciate that.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, I have a bit of a I'm a bit of a swear bear.

SPEAKER_01

So I apologize. Oh, it's perfect, absolutely perfect. All right. Uh, I'm gonna go ahead and uh and wrap this up only because you've been so incredibly generous with your time. And you know, I've had a great time talking to you. I can sit here and talk to you about everything you do for probably the next hour.

SPEAKER_00

Much of joy.

SPEAKER_01

So thank you for just sharing everything that you have uh about your life and and your background and everything you're studying. Um, you know, if anybody I'm I'm gonna have one more little question here. And if anybody is really intrigued with what you do, uh, outside of the fact that you wrote books, but uh what you do, uh tarot card reading, intuitive channeling, past life regression, things like that. Um they know how to reach you, but there's a lot of folks who feel like they can't do it themselves. And I know earlier you said, hey, anybody can do this. Do you have any kind of maybe word of encouragement or word of advice for anybody who might really want to get more into what it is you do uh on their own and maybe just doesn't know where to start?

SPEAKER_02

100%. I mean, like I I literally can promise every person on the planet, everyone can has an intuitive muscle. Now, my gifts is are with the tarot and how I exercised it. Tarot may not be the right entree for everybody, but you have to have some sort of discipline where you check in with yourself every day. A lot of people think of meditation. You I mean, guided meditations are great, but and meditation, it's just quiet. And I'll tell you something, don't worry about it if your mind is racing. It's all right, just come right back into your body, come right back into your body. Like my mind, my mind never stops. But I've learned, but now I'm in control of it. It doesn't control me. That's the difference here. That's when your energy is leading the show rather than the mind. But if it is tarot, if it is the divination tool, does help tarot, runes, numerology. It is fun to have a discipline. Um, but I'll tell you something. When I first started this spark coming to life, I read this book. It's called You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. She's a leader in the field. She's she's the founder of Hay House Publishing, which which publishes a lot of energetic-based books, um, as well as incredible books on all kinds of myriad of topics. She published, she still publishes, even though she's deceased, tarot cards and all those things. But that book, I encourage everybody to pick up and read because it will open up your intuitive, your third eye chakra, if you will. Um, and you will resonate with it. And it will be the first step towards, you know, that proverbial bigger world.

SPEAKER_01

Wonderful. Thank you for that. I appreciate you, you know, taking on that question, which, you know, I haven't prepared you for any of this stuff either. So you've been handling all of this just right off the cuff. Uh, very impressed.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I love to talk.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you for that. All right. Uh, folks, uh, global tarot card reader and intuitive channeler and author of the Arcanum series. Uh, books one and two are out now. Book three comes out June 9th, book four next year. Kelly O'Hearn. Kelly, thank you so much for being here today, sharing your story and all of your wisdom and all of your encouragement for everybody out there as well. You've been an amazing guest. Thanks for being here.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you, Rory. It was a joy. I had a great time.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you so much. Folks, uh, that's another fantastic episode of the Right Path Podcast, where uh the truth still matters and words still have power. Folks, this is the place for authors who absolutely know that every single page is a step forward towards finding your right path. Until next time.
