Standalone episode — no prior listening required.

A cautionary fable printed and posted in the forts along Kanohi's frontier, serving as a reminder: trust no tale without truth, and let no rumor rule your judgment.

Tyrien the Tiger, wisest of the kingdom, and Rodarock the deceitful rat from afar, cross paths in a story of fireless dragons, whispered lies, and the strength of doubt.

For even the smallest rumor may stir armies — unless met first with thought.

Narrator

In a kingdom far away, a venerable tiger named Tarion was renowned for his wisdom. His counsel was sought by all, from lowly peasants to powerful lords. In the same realm, a cunning rat named Rodorok hailed from an enemy kingdom. He delighted in spreading deception and tales, whether true or not. One day he proclaimed, I've heard from a trustworthy source that a fearsome dragon now dwells in the desert, breathing fire and devouring intruders. Fear swept through the realm as animals believed Roderick's words without question. But Tarrion, the wise tiger, approached him and inquired about his source. Rhodorok, caught off guard, faltered. I heard it from a friend of a friend. A reliable source, I assure you. With a knowing look, Tarrion addressed the gathered animals. Before we succumb to fear, let us remember the importance of verifying such claims. Rumors can be as perilous as dragons. The kingdom dispatched scouts who discovered not a dragon, but a harmless salamander. Tarrion suspected Roderick's true intentions and confronted him. Rodorock Cornet confessed. Tarrion's wisdom thwarted the deceptive rat from the enemy kingdom, and the animals learned the value of sore scrutiny and the dangers of false news.
