SPEAKER_04

Tally make the beautiful yellow and I'm on my fucking pizza. And no one ain't a red towel. You gotta see what you're back to hurry.

SPEAKER_05

Hey, how you doing today?

SPEAKER_06

Hey, I'm good, how are you?

SPEAKER_05

I'm doing good, can't complain.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, there we go. I was trying to get the hang on.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. How everything going with you today?

SPEAKER_01

Good, I've been having a good day. How about you?

SPEAKER_00

I'm doing good. Um just just trying to get this stuff, you know, out and getting this music pushed and all that. So uh pretty much that's all I've been doing, posting and promoting. So trying to trying to uh stay busy like everybody else is.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, that's the key to it. We gotta promote. We gotta promote.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So what I'm about to do is um we got to get started. So check this out. Um I'm honored to uh have Tallybands here tonight, you know what I'm saying, uh to drop her new song straight out of Richmond, Virginia, you know, known as the Baddie Queen, the Queen of Baddies music herself. I want y'all to make some noise from Tallyband right now. So we're gonna, you know, start off, you know, uh, we got you in the building, we're gonna promote your song, uh, gonna redo some things that uh we didn't do in the other one. So uh first I'm just gonna let you just let's talk to the people like where you um you coming out of VA. Tell us about your journey and you know how you got started into the music.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I'm from Richmond, VA, born and raised. I'm a model, actress, artist, um, entrepreneur, uh business owner, and content creator. Um, so I'm a Jane of all trades. I wear many hats. Um I got started in music back in 2017. I actually ended up getting the studio after being on set as a model for a music video. And I showed the producer, the guy who was, he's a rapper, so the guy who was um who had hired me to do the music video, I showed him a video of me um in this movie. And in the movie, I was a singer and I was on stage. And he was like, Wow, you have a great stage presence. Like, have you ever thought about singing? Like, I was like, No, I don't sing. I don't, I'm not a you know, artist. And he was like, Well, if you get in this with me, I could make you sound good. I'm just like, okay, well, you know, I'm gonna try it. I'm I'm not the type of person to give up uh to passive on like opportunities. So I got in the studio with him. He thought I was joking. I got in there. And I made my first song called Fuck Boys, and it went crazy. I posted on my Instagram, everybody loved it. Like I got so much good reviews uh from everybody. They were so excited that I was rapping. So I just ran with it. I kept going after that. I just kept putting out music, and I'm here today to mix tapes under my belt, plus just dropped my new single. Sticky straight.

SPEAKER_00

I see you out here doing your thing. Uh I see you uh even on the bag of reviews. Uh shout out to Lipstick. Um, how uh and I appreciate how he he has his platform to give uh indie females opportunities to um display their music. Uh, because that's a lot of people trying to do that now. But you know, a lot of people, you know, if somebody else comes out, they're like, hey, I don't know. But for him to uh give women an opportunity to do that, I admire that uh from him. Uh pretty much, how did y'all get uh how did you get connected with uh lipsticking?

SPEAKER_01

So I believe he found me from social media. He had said he'd been trying to contact me for months. I didn't even realize because I think he was trying to DM me, but I get a lot of DMs or they go, if we're not already connected some way, it just goes into like, you know, the um request folder. So I might not see it. And so he finally emailed me and I was like, hmm, I finally checked the email and I was like, oh, hold on. He was like, you know, saying he promotes female artists, indie artists. He wants to give me uh radio play and put me out there, get my music out there on his lip signation radio station. I was just like, okay, yes. I he had a phone number, I called him up, we got to chopping it up, you know, and now I'm part of Lip Signation Radio. My music's being heard all over multiple cities, states. It's really exciting. I'm really grateful for the opportunity.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, same here. Um, I appreciate him also giving me the platform, you know, push your independent radio show uh to uh pretty much premiere newcomers, the artist that's been out there, even though a lot of people are trying to do it. Um I appreciate people that just say, hey, here's my music, promote it. Um and you just learn a lot about people that you, you know, when you do this. Um you learn, you know, what they what they bring to the brand, what they bring out here and to music and all that. So uh I admire people who actually are genuinely supporting people to get to where they need to be.

SPEAKER_01

Oh pretty much. Yes, he's super supportive.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Uh so what does baddie music mean to you?

SPEAKER_01

So baddie music is basically female empowerment music. It's, you know, I want women all over the world to feel confident, feel good about themselves, feel comfortable being themselves and not being afraid to take up space, be loud. You know, um, it's just, yeah, it's basically music for women to come out of their shows and really like, you know, make some noise, like show that they're a baddie and that they're not gonna take any stuff from anybody. Um, they're a boss, you know, baddies, we can do it all. Like we're women who can go out there, we can work, we can be business owners, we can raise the babies, you know, we want to have babies. Um, we get the money. We get, you know, you just get your dream life. That's what being a baddie is. Like you have your mind in order, your mind, like your, you know, mental health in order, you have your finances in order, you have uh um just your life in order, you know, you have everything. So yeah, your career and all that. So it's just be basically music for for women to just be themselves and be powerful and feel good about themselves, be a value, beauty.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I like that. Do um women, when you out like uh when you're performing or doing shows or you know, um photography, do they like roll up on you and be like, hey, like I you like really an inspiration to me to make me want to do more and make bigger moves?

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, all the time. Uh when I'm out, even guys, like I've had guys tell me they're inspired by me, especially in my DMs. Like, girls will message me all the time. They'll tell me they're inspired by me. Some guys will message me and say the same thing. So it's just that's one of my like biggest things. Like, I always want to be an inspiration. Like, I want people to see it's possible. Like I'm out here making it happen. You can do it too, you know what I'm saying? Like, just go after it. Nothing is too big for you. Anything is possible. So yeah, I do inspire a lot of people and that makes me feel really good.

SPEAKER_00

So, uh, what does Taliban bring that the other females in the game don't bring a different from?

SPEAKER_01

What what wait wait, can you repeat the question?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I'm sorry. Uh so what do you bring that's different than other other uh female artists in the game?

SPEAKER_01

I feel like I bring my own sound. I don't think anyone sounds like me. And just my versatility, like I can literally do, I'm I'm doing rap music. I I have RB, I have an RB song. Um I feel like I have a very versatile sound, versatile look uh versus other, you know, female artists. And also I feel like as far as me, like I consider myself like I'm sophisticated, I'm classy, I'm elegant, but I can also get ratchet, I can turn up. And you don't see a lot of female artists like like female rappers like that. They either just be real ratchet, and that's it. Like, I feel like I have multi, you know, I'm multifaceted, I have many layers. So that's what differentiates me from other artists, other female artists.

SPEAKER_00

All right. That's cool. I like that. Uh while you're saying that, like, what should people, men and women, take from your music when they hear it?

SPEAKER_01

What they can take from it?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I just want them to have a good time. Like, I want my music to make people feel good, you know? And when they turn it on, they remember like Taliban's turned me up. Like that song was banging in the club. Or they might, like, if a girl is going through it with her, with some ain't shit ass nigga, and he done fucked up her self-esteem. She turned on Taliban's. She's like, I'm that bitch again. Taliban's a hype me up. Let me go outside and pop my shit and let people know. Like, I'm her. So that's what I want my music to do for girls, for the baddies, and for the guys too, they can turn on and turn up. I always make sure I have a fire beat. So regardless of the lyrics, you can, male or female, you can jam to it, you know. So yeah, I want people to turn up and have a good ass time when they hear my music.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because when I when I listen to your music, uh, I actually like, you know, I'm actually excited to say that there's no skips. You know what I'm saying? So I was like, wow. Yeah, I'm at like, you know, I'm I don't I don't be out here like, you know, DSing people. If, you know, but when I listen to her, I'm like, yeah, she she got some stuff on here that's no skips. She got some stuff, hey, like, you know, ladies, check this out. You know, this what I do, this is how I move, and this how you need to move. And and if the fellas ain't acting right, hey, she got something for y'all too. So I want y'all to just, you know, tune in to what she what she's bringing. You know what I'm saying? So I see that you share the stage with, you know, um a lot of people, like uh Sexy Red, Trina, Jada Kiss, Style Piece, Jaqueese, and Marino. So, like, what was that like to share the stage with them?

SPEAKER_01

It's so exciting. Like, it's always a good time because first off, their fans, you know, tune in to me. So it's always a big crowd, and I get introduced to their fan base. And every time I go on stage, I rock it, they love it. Like, I haven't ever had a bad experience when I perform. Like, every time I perform, people are tuned in, they they're turned up, they sing in the lyrics, like they go crazy. So for me to see that span across multiple different fan bases, male and female artist fan bases is like really exciting. That means I can appeal to many different like uh genders and just like uh genres, basically. So it's fun. And then I like the fact that I can watch them perform after because you know I've work for them. So afterwards I get to watch them perform. And it's like cool to see, you know, a like well-established artist perform. It's always like really, you know, the energy is just different. It's exciting. Like I take my porners from it. I'm like, okay, all right, I see how they're doing. Let me let me write some notes, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_00

So right. I feel you on that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I get the chance to meet some of them too. So I get to talk to them and they give me some good advice. So that's fine. That's cool to so.

SPEAKER_00

How does it like when you uh interact with like mainstream artists? How do you keep that humble part of yourself to not get the dickhead and feel like you arrived?

SPEAKER_01

Honestly, I just feel like they're just people, you know, every we're all just people, celebrity or not, like they were born. When they were born, they was in diapers. They could barely like, they couldn't talk, they drooling all over, couldn't hold their head up. We all started like that, you know. So that's just how I think of it. I just see everybody from like a childlike place. Like we're all just kids that grew up and now we adults. We, you know, certain people on different levels because they locked in, they got discipline, they, you know what I'm saying? They took advantage of whatever uh gifts they were born with and made a life for themselves. So that's just how I look at it. We're all just people.

SPEAKER_00

I like that. Um, because a lot of people would would be like, Hey, like you performed with so-and-so. Like, how was it? Like, uh, and you know, some people, um my pet peeve is people who do name dropping. And even when I when I read uh your bio, I was like, she don't do no name dropping. So you wouldn't really know who she's really working with, but she's working with some heavy hitters. Uh I see that you also you also hit some huge platforms, you know, Roll Aloud Miami, BT Awards Weekend, uh SS Double, SW. SX SWAT by Southwest. Yeah. Uh I wanted to pretend wanted to attend in one year, uh, probably hopefully do it next year. Uh, it is okay. Uh so we're gonna we're gonna run them down. So just tell me about like your overall experiences uh when you went to uh these platforms where you performed or either did shows it.

SPEAKER_01

Um so I guess I'll start with BET Awards. That was just so cool. Like I got to meet so many celebrities, like we were just sitting in the crowd and just celebrities sitting right next to you. Like, you know, it was really it was a really dope experience. And I got to watch the show. I think that was 20 BT Awards 2023 that I did. Or 2024. I think it was 2024, I'm not sure, but I can't remember. But yeah, um, I got to watch the show, so it was like a free concert, you know? Like all these people that I live Listen to or just perform right now. So it was so cool. That was an amazing experience. And then afterwards, I went to the BT after party and I performed. And um G Herbal was there and Scarlet. So they was both performing. So I got to open up for them. And um DJ Sky High, baby, the baddies, Zeus Baddies DJ. She was like, she was uh spinning that night, so she shouted me out. She was vibing to my music, she was loving it. So yeah, I gave her some merch and everything. So it was just a really cool experience. It was so, so cool. Um, it just motivated me because I'm like, I want to be on that BET stage, you know, in the future. That's my goal.

SPEAKER_00

So you're gonna you're gonna be there. You're gonna be there.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you. Thank you. I plan on it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And we'll speak it too.

SPEAKER_01

So speak it into existence. And then I did Road Aloud. That was so dope. Like, I got to uh perform at I think it was, I think it was called Hollywood that was the club that was I performed at during the weekend. And um DJ that boy Reimer, he was uh the City Girls DJ, he was there. So he was recording me because he recorded my performance and he said I was dope and everything. Fost me to his story. It was so lit. So the crowd was loving it. Like after I got off the stage, some dude canceled me. He was like, you that shit, you shut it down. Like he was like so serious. Real hard because I was like, thank you, thank you. So yes, and then I did South by Southwest two years in a row. I didn't go this year or last year just because I'm just in a different stage of my career. I don't feel like I need to be going there right now. But um I did go. Great experience. I met so many people, got so many connects. Um, I got interviews, I did, I did multiple shows. It was really fun. It's it's it's a dope experience. Every artist who's indie needs to go South by Southwest for sure. To network at least.

SPEAKER_00

Please say it again. Say it again for the people so they can hear you.

SPEAKER_01

Every artist needs to go to South by Southwest to network, okay? Networking is everything in this industry. You have to rub your shoulders with the right people.

SPEAKER_00

Now with with you doing that, um, I guess this question I asked you yesterday, uh, how do you know, because you you you're you're on uh Instagram, you're putting out music, you got a you got a big following. So how do you know like that the people are genu genuinely there for you or just there because uh clout chasing?

SPEAKER_01

Hmm, honestly, it's discernment, and that's something that it's a I feel like discernment is something that you have to build as you get around people, you have to put yourself out there, and you'll your intuition, your discernment will literally tell you who's good for you, who's not good for you. And for me, I pray, I pray to God. I always ask God to give me discernment, to strengthen my intuition, to let me know is this person good or bad for me? And I'll my and sometimes like people's energy will literally repel me, and I can't even be around certain people. Like I'm really sensitive to energy. So that's what for me, but when I first started in music, I did not have that discernment. Like I was just out there, just like talking to everybody, trying to get as many, shake as many hands as possible. Right, you know, so it was it got kind of weird because some people really just be all talk and they just be trying to take advantage of indie artists to get money out of them and stuff. So that never happened to me, thank God. But it was some shady people I ran into that tried to promise things that they couldn't really do. You know what I'm saying? So that I had to learn like just discernment. I I feel like just stay prayed up and you'll know who's for you and who's not for you.

SPEAKER_00

So uh doing those opportunities that you taught that were good ones, like, and it didn't, let's say they didn't happen. Like, uh, how did you feel? Were you discouraged? Did it make you hungrier to like move better in the game?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it definitely just made me hungrier. It made me feel like, oh, okay, whatever. I didn't let it jade me. I was oh, whatever, okay. On to the next thing. Let's keep moving forward. Like, you know, that was yesterday. Today is a new day. You know, we woke up, God woke me up this morning, so my life ain't over. Still got plans for me to do things, so I'm gonna keep doing things. It's that simple.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, true. I agree with that. That that's that's one of my models, you know. Just you just gotta keep pushing. Uh yeah, just keep pushing. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

So you never know when it's gonna be your time.

SPEAKER_00

Right. I agree with that. You just, you know, gotta. I guess how we've been talking in some of these interviews, just align yourself with, you know, good people and people that just want to see you, see you win, because everybody don't.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And some people are literally like jealous of you and they want to get close to you just to bring you down. It's weird. It can get weird fast. So that's why you gotta really have discernment to know who's for you.

SPEAKER_00

So uh I also uh read that you were in T-Pain's Club Husband video. Uh and also uh with saying that uh this going to your bio to see everything that you've been doing, uh, from those experiences, what has surprised you through all those, those uh, I guess, positive things you've been doing.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you. Um honestly, it just made me feel like, wow, I'm really out here doing this, you know, because there is, I'm literally the first person in my family to do any of the things I've done, to go to places I've gone. So to know that I'm breaking generational curses just keeps me going, you know, and that I'm not just is this is bigger than me. I'm not just doing this for myself, like I'm also doing this for future generations, like my future bloodline and my family, you know what I'm saying? I want to, I want to be the the breaker. Like I want to be the person that puts the family on a different trajectory versus what it was, because I feel like a lot of times when you come from a background of like, you know, poverty, it's easy to just feel yours put yourself in like a victim mode and feel helpless, like, oh, I can't do anything. I can't, you know, yes, you can. Like, you can do anything, you know. And I'm a testament. The fact that I've even accomplished other things I've accomplished, even though I feel like I have so much more to accomplish. There's people who are looking at me who haven't done much, and they're looking at me like, wow, I wish I could be where she is. I'm just thinking, like, I want to be like with somewhere way bigger right now. You know what I'm saying? So um, and just don't put too much pressure on yourself. Like, it's not your fault where you come from or your parents, like, you know, whatever they went through, you know, that they just didn't set it up for you to be in a good position. So don't put your, don't, don't like beat yourself up about it. You know what I'm saying? And just keep pushing. Like, um, I really just feel like, yeah, you just can't dwell too much on the past, you know. Just look at everything you accomplish and know that there's so much more to accomplish and you can do it. Just stay 10 toes down. Um, yeah, and just try not to let your trauma get in the way. Cause a lot of times people have trauma from a lot of stuff and they get insecure, you know, your insecurities. Don't let those get in your way. Like, that's nothing but I just feel like that's the devil, honestly, trying to get in your ear. Like, don't listen to it. But don't listen to people too. Like, people will try to bring you down too. Like, I get a lot of hate on the internet. You'd be surprised. I'm sure you probably surprised, but I get a lot of hate. A lot of hate. But it doesn't bother it used to bother me. It doesn't bother me anymore because like I know it's none of it's true. So I think the best thing you can do is like just know yourself. You know what I'm saying? Like, I really got to know myself and who I am as a person. And I'm looking at my accomplishments like I'm I'm freaking amazing. Like, I'm only gonna do more amazing things.

SPEAKER_00

So Right. So when how would you feel? Like, I guess after you're saying all that, somebody who like writes you and says whatever, but then they say, Hey, you want to collaborate? Like, how does that like make you feel at that point?

SPEAKER_06

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_00

So, like, let's say uh you get some hate mail from a like you do you do your daddy review and somebody comes in and they're like, Oh yeah, I don't, you know, whatever. I I can do it better than you. But then they come back and they say, Hey, yo, uh, I got this song I'm working on. You want to collaborate on it?

SPEAKER_01

No, don't collaborate with them.

SPEAKER_07

All right, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Come correct the first time. Don't d if you disrespect me, that's it for you. I don't I don't spend a block on disrespect. That's how you felt, that's how you felt. Like, I can't trust you. You know what I'm saying? Like, if you disrespect me, you're liable to do anything to me.

SPEAKER_00

True. So no, I'm not.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't I wouldn't work with them.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. All right.

SPEAKER_01

I mean it depends on it depends. It depends. I don't know. I might I might. It just really depends on like the type of hate they were saying. Like if it was some real crazy stuff, hell no. But if it was just no, I probably wouldn't. I probably wouldn't. I don't know. I probably wouldn't.

SPEAKER_00

Well, hey, well well, hey, you you you you d you seem like you got good discernment and about to say that's where discernment comes in. Yeah. Yeah. So so pretty much when you got that discernment and you know who who and who not to work with, uh because it's like the same way with me. Um, you know, sometimes people, hey, I want to do an interview. I'm like Nah. Just and it ain't even just because of, you know, certain things, this is like what you see. And it's like, nah, do you really want that? You know, so it's like sometimes people.

SPEAKER_06

What makes you say no though?

SPEAKER_00

Uh so I'm one of those ones, like, um, just like I go on people pages, so I like to see what you what you do. So if I'm one of those ones, you can have all the followings, but like whereas uh if you don't have music, you don't have stuff and it's like okay. And then people like, hey, I want to interview. I don't know what I don't really know what we actually got to talk about or what you know, you may can't you may have a lot to say, but like I'd like to see what you're doing, so it's like, okay, I have something that to talk about so that not fans but supporters will be like, hey, I want to know what they're doing. And so it's like you get the opportunities. Like I look at you and I look at a lot of these other artists that when we be on these uh reviews, that's out here that that's really hustling, trying to trying to get. They're not from what I'm I see that they're not out here just trying to be like, you know, hating on other people. They like, look, here's my music. Play it. Can you play it? Can you send it here? Can you give it to somebody? Like, I feel like that's how it's supposed to be. So it's like I just, you know, I'm one of those type of people that I don't like people that, okay, they see you working with people, then they're like, hey, can I do something with you? Like, I'm the same way, like, pretty much like, nah. Because if he didn't want to talk to me when I wasn't doing it, then why talk to me now? Cause I talk to somebody, she might be like, oh yeah. Uh, how did you talk to them? You know.

SPEAKER_01

See, people is that clout, that's that clout is a drug.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. So, you know, like even, you know, uh like with you, I appreciate you, you, you giving me the interviews and you know, letting me play your music and all that stuff. Some people might be like, hey, how did he get it? How did he get an interview? I can't get one. I'm just you know, I just, you know, I mind my business and at a state of myself. I'll say, hey, you know, keep keep keep it keep it business, and you know, you people be fine out there if they just do that. So I'm gonna I'm gonna let you uh ask a questi uh answer a question for me. So what advice would you give a new artist that's a new indie artist that's trying to start out and either they think they they want it fast, but it's sometimes it takes their time not to get discouraged?

SPEAKER_01

I would say just focus on your craft, like focus on making the music and your passion and just visualize what you want in your mind. Where do you want to be? Where do you see yourself that'll help you not get discouraged? Because if you can see it in your mind and you can go there where you want to be in your mind, it's possible. So just stay in your mind. Like you might see things happening around you and it's frustrating, but how do you know those things aren't really what's getting you to where you want to be? You know? It might be frustrating right now, it might feel bad right now, it might look terrible right now, but it could literally be the things that are helping you get to that level. So don't get discouraged, just just meditate. Take your time, go to your little space, you know, in your mind and see yourself where you want to be, and then just work on your craft because the talent gonna speak for itself, you know. And just network, like get your put yourself out there, go talk to people in the industry, get men, get a mentor if you need to. Go do the open mics. Like when I first started, I I did so I I was performing like all the time. I was I did two tours of my own. I did state-to-state tour with the QC DJs. I did all that in like a year, two years. You know what I'm saying? In the first year of my career. So yeah, just put yourself out there. And um, I know it could be a cost thing, like you might not have the money for it. So create content. Because right now, everything is digital. You can literally make content go viral. So just start making some content, you know, um, with your music. Um, it's just crazy because I had just got off a call uh yesterday or was the day before, with um shout out everything DMV Radio. Raheem Devon was on there previewing his new music, and he was literally giving a lot of the indie artists on the call gems. So I got to talk to him. I asked him a question. I was just like, what, you know, what advice would you give an indie artist who wants to get where he is, where he's have a 20-year span career, you know?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And he's kept his loyal fan base, and he just like just make sure you focus on have a plan. Like, if you drop a song, have 30 days of content ready to just put out there, you know what I'm saying? Like, so yeah, just have a plan and network with the right people and just um pray on it because I just feel like a lot of things have to do with alignment. Like you're gonna meet the right people for you, you're gonna meet your tribe when you're when you're um on the right path, you know what I'm saying? And oh, he also said like to make sure that you sacrifice, like if you need to give up the alcohol, give up the smoking weed, like get yourself right in your mind so that you can attract the things that are for you.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah. Good gems you've gave given to the indie artists out here. And uh when this goes uh on on all the multiple podcasting platforms, uh all the indie artists need to download every interview, including this one. Uh, because some of these interviews give you some gems and some tools that'll help you um through your indie music career. Um So what really what has inspired you to get into you know uh music, uh being an actress, uh modeling and all that? What where did that come from?

SPEAKER_01

Honestly, since I was a little girl, I just felt like I was destined for fame. Like I've always wanted to be famous. And since I was like four years old, I I would see models walking on the runway on the TV. And I was like, I want to do that. I wanna do that. I want to be a model, I wanna walk the runway. Like, you know, I want to be on TV. So since I was little, literally four years old, I've wanted to do everything I'm doing.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. All right, that's good. I'm glad I'm glad that you had a plan and you and you have goals and ambitions, and uh, you know, after you know, looking at what you're doing, keep keep doing what you're doing. Uh don't let nobody dis this disturb you to you know or or make you stray. Uh just keep moving and and and dropping the these bombs that you're dropping.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and if you get the hate, whatever, like if you ain't got no haters, you ain't popping. Because like if they're hating on you, you're doing something right, in my opinion. People don't hate on people that ain't doing nothing, like, you know.

SPEAKER_00

True. So before we uh premiere your song on Pusher, uh uh want you to you know get your shout-outs and where your supporters can find you at.

SPEAKER_01

Thank y'all so much. Thank you to all the radio stations spinning my record. And all my fans. Thank y'all, love y'all, thank y'all.

SPEAKER_00

All right, Dave. So uh before so when we get into this uh new joint you got, uh what inspired you for this for this single?

SPEAKER_01

Um, so I feel like I'm in a new era where I'm no longer just over-giving and over-exerting myself and like people pleasing. I'm just really sending in my power. So I feel like I'm just on a I have a I'm running a real strict program. Like it's real strict over here. I don't care who it is, you know? Like family, friends, lovers is real strict. Okay, I got boundaries, standards, and if you ain't with it, you gotta exit the program, okay? Because I'm the program. So if you're not running on my program, you gotta go because you a virus. You know what I'm saying? You know how a virus tried to infiltrate the program and scramble it and stuff. No, you gotta go. So yeah, I'm thick and I'm thick. Obviously, that's self-explanatory. So I'm thick and strict. That's how I came up with this song.

SPEAKER_00

Got you. So why is this why is this the anthem right now for the baddies?

SPEAKER_01

So I actually I like to go on TikTok and just see what people be talking about. Cause my last song called And Did. Everybody was saying that that uh phrase. So uh that actually kind of went viral on on TikTok too. A lot of people was doing videos to it. But thick and strict, I noticed a lot of the girlies is running strict programs right now. Like they fed up, they fed up with the bullshit, ain't shit niggas. They ready, they be in the gym, they working on their skincare, okay? Like they getting their bodies right, they getting their money right. It's literally just another form of being a baddie, but this time we got more standards. So that's really where I got it from. Like I saw on TikTok all the baddies talking about being thick and strict. And I was like, you know what? I'm thick and strict too. Cause it's like, I love how they came up with that time because that's how I am right now. It's my my new era. So I had to make a song about it.

SPEAKER_00

All right, all right. Do you feel that you're uh that you're responsible for being a voice to empower the women?

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Um I've been recently going viral on my Facebook, and I'm attracted so many new baddies on my page, and they're like all agreeing with things that I put out there. So I know for a fact that I'm a voice. But even before I started doing that, like with my music, a lot of the girls like really love my music. So I only preach about being a powerful woman and you know what I'm saying? Like, not taking any shit from anybody, not just men, but just anybody. You know what I'm saying? And get out here and get it. You know what I'm saying? Like by any means necessary, like use what God blessed you with. If God bless you with beauty, use that beauty, okay? It's your that's an advantage. We have to use what we got as an advantage in this world to get ahead because literally that would be a disservice to God if we didn't, because it's like he gave it to you for a reason. You know what I'm saying? If he gave you intelligence, you smart, you good with numbers, go out there and use it. If he said that, oh, you can speak well, go out there and speak. You know what I'm saying? Use your gifts. So I'm really, really big on that. Um, and I like to put that in my music, like, you know what I'm saying, as being a baddie, like use what you got to get what you want out of this life. Because like, you only get one life. And don't you want to live it up? I know I do.

SPEAKER_00

Definitely. Most definitely. Wanna do that? Uh we're gonna talk about uh since it was produced by DJ Major.

SPEAKER_01

Uh how was the Oh yes, shout out uh Drum Majors ATL. They produced the track, and that's D uh Drum Major ATL Suave. That's his beat.

SPEAKER_00
