You're watching The Last Stand with Brian Custer. That's right. It is the last stand. I'm Brian Custer. We bring you the biggest names in the sport. And today we got another big one, especially when you talk about women's boxing. Our guest today is the Boxing Writers 2025 Female Fighter of the Year. She's also a decorated three division world champion. She is the current unified super welterweight champion of the world. Also, the welterweight champion of the world as well. She is none other than Michaela Mayer, is back with us on the last stand. Hello, Michaela. Hi, champ. Hi.
SPEAKER_01A long time. I think it's been like four years since we did that.
SPEAKER_02I know. I and listen, you just keep racking up the accolades. You keep racking up the belts. Uh, I think the last time I saw you, you got into the ring uh with Chantel Cameron, who had just won a piece of the 154-pound title. Um, when are we gonna see you? Uh when are you fighting next? Do you have a date? Is anything signed? Uh, when are you fighting next?
SPEAKER_01So um, as you know, I recently signed with MVP after almost nine years of top rank. You know, nothing nothing bad to say about them. We had a great run. I would not be where I am without them. But you know, MVP is just kind of where it's at right now for women's boxing. And in order for me to get the the fights that I want while I you know finish up my career, that's where I have to be. So I'm really excited for that. My first fight with them will be August 8th, and they say in the LA area.
SPEAKER_02And do you know who?
SPEAKER_01So, I mean, it's no secret that I got in the ring um at the Dubois versus Harper fight uh in London a couple weeks ago against uh Chantel Cameron. Chantal Cameron just won the WBO belt, but I had to vacate because I hold the WBO belt at 147 as well. I had to pick and choose since I have two other belts at 54. I vacated that. Chantel fought for it, and um, yeah, I got in the ring and said, let's do it. I mean, I've always wanted a fight with Chantel. I always thought that would be a great fight. We have really, you know, come forward styles, so I know it'll be super entertaining. Um, and yeah, so while I wait for Lauren Price to go and dispute for so I can go and dispute it with her and other fights that just don't seem to be happening, people don't seem to want to move as quickly as I do. But uh, I've always wanted to fight Chantel, so I think that's a great fight in the meantime.
SPEAKER_02Yes, okay, and you know, it brings up uh Lauren Price because she's also talked about fighting you for the undisputed title there at Welter Waite. Do you think that will happen this year?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I really don't know. Like we've been trying to negotiate with uh her and Ben Shalom and all these for so long, and we had a whole date, everything was negotiated and scheduled for her to come out. I was surprised. They agreed to send Lauren Price out here to Vegas. Um, it was supposed to happen last July, and everything was set. It was the last fight Top Rank had on ESPN, the last fight that Boxer had on Sky Sports, and so we had the money behind it to do it. Everything was negotiated, and I don't know what happened. I don't know if Benchalom wasn't including Lauren Price in the negotiations, but she decided I'm not doing that. Um, so that was a bummer because we and then all of a sudden that the money wasn't there to put it on because we didn't have the networks, and they sent me an offer that was just ridiculous. I mean, the number they offered me was something I I fight for, I fought for before I was a champion. You know what I'm saying? So I'm not gonna fight for that number undisputed. Um, so I had to turn that offer down. And it since then we just haven't been able to come to a deal.
SPEAKER_02Uh talk to me about what do you expect when you get in the ring with Chantelle Cameron? What kind of fight is that gonna be?
SPEAKER_01Um, I expect her to come forward. You know, she she starts off boxing a little bit, you know, taking a step back, but eventually she bites down and she comes forward. Same as me, right? Like I like to go forward, I like to dig to the body. Um, but you know, I feel like I'm one of the best body punchers and inside inside fighters that the game has, honestly. And so I even though I think Chantel is does her thing, I I just don't think she can match me in there. So I know it's gonna be a very action-packed fight.
SPEAKER_02Now, do you want to be undisputed at 154?
SPEAKER_01Or is it more listen, I've been I've been shooting for undisputed for a long time. I think that people thought that I'd be one of the first women to go undisputed. It was just lined up that way, and my career has taken lots of different turns. Ultimately, it's been really exciting, and I haven't let my foot off the gas, right? Like I've constantly tried to go and make the best fights. I would love to go undisputed at 147 and 154. Um, but we just gotta get to get them done, you know. That's why I think Chantel is wanting to fight me at 147. And I'm kind of standing at 154 because I have two belts there. She has a belt. Like, I'm not gonna go back. I want that fight with Lauren Price, but in the meantime, I have to continue the momentum and keep going. So it doesn't make sense for me to go to 47 and fight her when she has a belt at 54 and we can unify and make more money, you know. Um, my contract states the more belts on the line, the more money I make. So I'm not gonna give that up just because she wants to be at 47. And I know we're both non-natural 54 pounders. I think she's worried that 154 isn't really her weight class and she didn't feel very strong there. But listen, neither am I. Like I walk around at like 152. So if she I'm even willing to make it a catchway. If she wants to fight at 150, I won't weigh above 150, but we gotta have the belts on the line. That's that's what makes sense.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so those are great fights, but I gotta ask you about the fight because I know I've talked with uh Dmitri Salida, and he seems hellbent on making the Michaela Mayer versus Clarissa Shields fight, especially in light of Shadesha Green taking that loss. Um, and in fact, we spoke with Clarissa Shields. We had her on the last stand two months ago. She brought your name up. I didn't. She brought your name up. I want you to listen to what Clarissa Shields had to say. Take a listen. And I thought listening to you you talk about Kayla Mayor, I thought that was your homegirl. You guys would actually like but if you think she can beat me, we can rumble.
SPEAKER_00Ain't not wrong with that, it's not it's nothing wrong with her thinking that that you know she can beat me in a fight. It's nothing wrong with that, but just know that um um, you know, thinking certain stuff and doing certain stuff comes with consequences, and like I said, um, when it's time for me to go back down to 160, if she really wants to fight, we can make it happen.
SPEAKER_02That was Clarissa Shea, she brought your name up. I did because she said, Well, we've been talking.
SPEAKER_01I mean, she's she we our teams have been talking. Like I know her team wants it. They've been in um discussion with my manager, George, and um, you know, even top rank, and then when I was still partnered with them, it's a very possible fight. I've never been hard to make fights with. Like, I don't say one thing and do another. So um I'm here for it. The biggest issue right now is her making her way down to 160. So when she does that, let's go. And and you you would you would go up to one all the way up to 160? That's the only way I can get the fight. You know, people are sitting around telling her, meet me at 154, meet me at 154. Negotiations already take too long, in my opinion, right? Like, I don't want to wait two, three years to get the fights that I want. I'm I'm probably out of here in two, three years. So um, if that's what I have to, I'm not gonna make it impossible for me to make to get that fight done. If 160 is where she wants to meet me, then I'll have to get there. Now, again, I only walk around in like 152, 153, so I will be the smaller fighter, but um, I'm not worried about that. Like, I I believe in my skill and um I think that I'm boxing better than I've ever boxed. Like, despite me being older than I've ever been, I'm better than I've ever been. And a lot of that I have to credit to my new coach, Kofi Jansua, who I've been with now for almost two years. Um, and then just not cutting weight anymore. You know, I feel great, I feel strong, and I'm not gonna push to be at 160. I'm not gonna push to put on like a ton of muscle. I'm gonna get to the limit. I think what's the limit? Um, I have to be above 54, right? So I'm gonna try and come in life 57, 58, and it's what's good to go. Skills pay the bills. Like at the end of the day, I know she can be the bigger fighter, but um, I think I'm the better boxer and I think I have the work rate. I think I can match her work rate because I think one thing about Clarissa is she's she's fast and she she throws a lot of punches. And a lot of the girls at the heavier weights, they can't handle that, they can't match her there, and that's where she's she really dominates. But someone like me, coming from the lighter weights, who we all throw a lot of punches, and me especially. I think me and Amanda Serrano have like the highest um punch count in boxing, the most accurate um punch count in boxing. So um, she's gonna meet her match with me for sure.
SPEAKER_02Now, listen, when Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor fought, now listen, those three fights was mega fights, mega fights. It set women's boxing through the roof. Tell me what a Michaela Mayer, Clarissa Shields fight would do for women's boxing and the sport.
SPEAKER_01You listen, I think you're gonna see the best fight women's boxing ever seen because look at our pedigrees. You know, we have we have the amateur background, we have the experience as pros. We're both in our prime. And um it's it's not like I'm sick of seeing these fights that you know who's gonna win every single time. Now, a lot of people might think that Clarissa's gonna win, but that's just because they don't know me and they they know Clarissa. Um, anyone who knows me and sees me in the den and sees what I do, they they believe me and they believe that I can beat Clarissa. And I know that I have a lot of people that stand with me on that also. So I just think you're gonna see a really high-level skilled fight. And it's not, I don't necessarily think it's gonna be one-sided. And that those are the type of fights that we want to see, right? We want to see competitive fights where everyone, people have their moments. Um, they're letting their hands go, they're adjusting through each round, and it's gonna it's gonna be top-tier women's boxing, top-tier boxing.
SPEAKER_02And uh, does there have to be any animosity there? Um, I mean, like, like where is the relationship now? Because before I felt like y'all were like homegirls, and now I was like, this came out of left field.
SPEAKER_01They want to fight. That is the risk I'm willing to take. Now, I'm not naive. I know Clarissa puts her heart and soul into her fights, right? And it starts with the buildup, it starts with the the shit talk and the me and you know, building the fight and the wars on whatever social media and the press conference and all that. I've seen it. So I I'm not I'm not naive to think that she's not gonna come for me. I know she will. Um, and so I'll just I'll just have to fire right back. And it is what it is. I don't know. I mean, you look at Franchon and Clarissa, and they are good friends before that fight, and they did not leave friends, and that may be the risk, that may be what happens, but that's the risk I'm willing to take, you know, for for the good of the sport.
SPEAKER_02Um another fight, and obviously that would be a mega fight. Uh, but another fight that a lot of people have been talking about is they want to see Michaela Mayer and Alicia Bumgardner again. Uh so I guess my first question is what did you think of her performance against Bo?
SPEAKER_01Um, I thought I thought she looked, and this is my um putting my commentator hat on, right? I thought she looked really good the first half of the fight, like the first four or five rounds, um, really explosive with her combinations. Um, but then then it she kind of fell off. And she still had moments. She was really good in moments, right? But I don't necessarily think that Alicia Baumgartner is a three-minute round fighter. And that's okay. I just don't necessarily think that she is. I is one of the reasons why I go back and forth with three-minute rounds because this young generation, their their attention span, I don't know if they have the attention span for that long of a fight. And she's really strong in the first half of the fight. Now you can say that she adjusted, but it didn't feel like an adjustment to me based off of like strategy. It felt like an adjustment based off fatigue. And um yeah, I noticed that she's not strong on the inside. And when she when she when she attacks, she's great. Explosive, strong, on point, accurate. But when she's getting punched ash, it feels like she crumbles a little bit. So um I think that if Bo, if Shin was a little bit more technically skilled and and more accurate with her punches, then she would have been able to close that space and really break Baumgartner down because she's vulnerable in the second half of the fight. But I don't think that Shin had the skills to do that. So, you know, we'll see when she goes up against a top-tier level fighter, someone on her level.
SPEAKER_02Now, uh, I guess it begs the question do you want a rematch with Alicia Baumgartner? And if so, what weight would you guys fight at?
SPEAKER_01Of course I want a rematch. Listen, she talks about wanting the biggest fights, so do I. She talks about wanting to be in super fights, so of course, we all want to be in these super fights. So I'm confused as to why you're leaving this super fight between her and I, this rematch that did millions of views. You look on if you look on YouTube and just you know, we sold out that O2, like we we sold that fight and people loved it, right? And they want to see it again. So I'm just concerned. I'm wondering why we're leaving this super fight on the table. If that's really what she wants, then hi, you have one right here. This is the one. So, and I know we all want Katie Taylor, but we're all sitting around waiting for that call from Katie Taylor to be her last fight. You can't, you can't sit back and you know, navigate around that and around like bigger fights, just hopes that you get that call. That's on Katie Taylor. So I'm not gonna I'm not gonna navigate and move based around that. I'm gonna keep going and keep trying to make big fights, and I I think she should do the same because she doesn't know if she's gonna get that call. And again, this is a super fight. Lots of money on the table, and people want to see it, and it would grow women's boxing to new heights once again.
SPEAKER_02What what weight? What weight would you guys fight, you and Alicia?
SPEAKER_01I would beat her at 140. That that's I can't go lower than 140, and I can't go higher than 160. Yeah. But for the right people, I'm willing to make those sacrifices and do what I have to do. Again, I walk around at 152, so it's not a super big cut for me. Um, I can make it happen. And it's gonna be a cut, but it's gonna be like, I think, doable. Um, and I'm not gonna try and way bully her and say, no, you have to meet me at 147 or anything like that. Like, that's just not realistic, right? I can if I'm gonna be, if I really want to fight, I have to be realistic. I have to go to 160 to meet Clarissa. I have to go to 140 if Baumgarten wants to rematch and fight me. So I'm I'm I'm will I'm reasonable, I'm a reasonable negotiator here.
SPEAKER_02I like it. And and tell me, how would the fight be different this time around?
SPEAKER_01I'm just a different fighter. You know, again, I think that um I if I really have to reflect, I didn't do enough in that first fight against us. Um, and I let it get too close, and I didn't, I didn't push, I didn't kick into that next gear, which I usually always do, you know, and I think a handful of it was just I she was right. I was drained at 130. I'm not gonna lie, I really was, and um, to the point where it's like I had like four shots in my arm that year, you know, my elbow, my shoulders, and everything just from cutting all that weight, you know, every everyone knows like when you really start cutting away, all your little injuries pop out. And so I just don't think that I was fighting some at my best. I don't think I was at my best. And um, and I think outside of not being me, me not being at my best then, I've grown so much. Like, I think people think that what once you hit like 35 or my age that you kind of peak, and you don't like I've really kept growing. I added a new member to my team, not cutting weight, just literally learning how to like rotate my transfer my body weight into my shots. Um, and so I just think I'm an all-around better fighter now, and and she is too. She is too, but it comes down to the fact that this is the fight the fans want to see, right? It we're not just I'm not just talking out of my ass, like, oh yeah, rematch me when nobody cares. Because I know people do that, and it's like no one wants to see that rematch. Everyone wants to see this rematch. And again, a lot of money on the table. You can't walk away from something like that. It has everything, it has all the ingredients for a super fight. And so, in my business mind, it it it's an obvious match to make. It's just obvious to me. I just need her to be on board with it.
SPEAKER_02Has Nikisa and MVP have they talked about getting you two back together for a fight?
SPEAKER_01Well, when we mentioned it, right? Because when we're we're negotiating this new contract with them, you know, we're throwing out names like this what do you think about this fight? Do you find this fight realistic? Like these are the girls we would want. And we mentioned Alicia Baumgartner, obviously. And their initial response was that fight's gonna be, I think I believe that fight's gonna be difficult to make. And in my mind, that means that maybe she's um hinted that she doesn't want it. I don't know. I've seen one interview where she said, Oh, yeah, it just depends what weight. So I'm telling you right now, 140 is the weight for me. You know, she she talked about going to 147 to fight Clarissa. Um, so why not 140 for me?
SPEAKER_02You do you think that's why she kind of shut it down that uh after her last uh victory over Bo? The people were asking about you, and she said, He's been shutting it down.
SPEAKER_01I don't know why. If you want the super fights, you have one right here. So it's it it doesn't make sense to me. Like you need to stay be be in alignment with what you say, right? Like be consistent with what you say. You have one right here.
SPEAKER_02Well, why do you think why do you think Alicia Baumgardner, Clarissa Shields are such lightning rods, especially on social media?
SPEAKER_01I don't know, maybe they're more similar than they think.
SPEAKER_02That's a great answer. Um, I often see you, especially uh uh on social media, training with Carmel Moulton. Yeah, how how good do you think that kid will be?
SPEAKER_01Really good. I'm just concerned about his activity, right? Like, and I know it's with Mayweather, and like they have that connection and whatever, and he's he wants to be loyal to that, that's what they have going. But um, and hopefully that works out, you know. I I believe in staying loyal, but I want to see him active. So I'm hoping that he continues to get more consistent fights under Mayweather promotions, and if not, that he um is smart enough to make a move when he needs to. He's still very young, right? He's about to turn 20, I think. So he's got time on his side, which is good. Um, but yeah, it it boxing sometimes isn't always about if you're how great you are, right? Like you have to have everything has to come and uh fall into place for you. You have to have the right team, the right management, the right promotion, you have to get the right opportunities. And so all that has to come together with your talent, and that's what I hope for him.
SPEAKER_02Um, right now in in women's boxing, pound for pound, who's the best female boxer in the world right now?
SPEAKER_01I mean, that's true. I think it's me. I'm bummed that I have not, I'm gonna have an eight-month layoff because I feel like again, I'm boxing better than ever. Like I just feel so sharp and so good, and I want to get in there and display it because I know that um if you look like look at my fight, and this is when I got with Kofi Jan too, right? Look at my first fight with Sandy and then the second fight with Sandy. You see like a jump in levels, right? And then the fight from Sandy to Mary Spencer, you see another jump in levels. Like, I'm not I hope that you guys can see that because that is actually what is happening. And I just know that there's another level that needs to be seen. And um, I'm hoping by the end of it, I'm I work my way up to that number one spot in that found for poundless. If I don't, I don't, whatever. But I truly believe that I I have some of the best skills in boxing, in witness boxing, yes.
SPEAKER_02Uh when it comes to fighting, uh favorite, your favorite male boxer is who that you love to watch.
SPEAKER_01Um well, I've I've always said skill-wise, probably Terrence Crawford. Um, I don't think a lot of people thought he would beat Crawford, but like I was Canelo. We had like or Canelo, sorry. I had we had like a bunch of people at the house watching the fight, and everyone was like, nah, there's no way Crawford's winning. I'm like, you guys, trust me, trust me, trust me. And only because I'd trained with him in the past, you know, we did a lot of camps together in Colorado and stuff. So I've seen, I've seen. I think a lot of the best fighters, they do things very simple, right? And like they they do what they need to do. And like Andre Ward, you know, very simple. One, two, three, body shots. And so it takes a certain fighter to bring certain things out of them, and so this they don't, they're not all it they don't expose it all at once. And so I just think that that maybe that's what people thought about Crawford until he was able to get in there and adjust as well as he did against Canelo.
SPEAKER_02Okay, and who's your favorite female fighter that you're just like, man, I love watching this girl fight.
SPEAKER_01There, okay, so I'll I'll give you a couple, a couple you know, you know Tam, that girl Tam, the MVP has Tam Tibolt, she's nice. I like her style a lot. I think she's only like four and oh right now, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what what she does. Um, I mean, that'd be a great fight for Florida too if she's gonna stay down at 160. Two, maybe me one day. I I don't care, I'll fight anyone. I'm I'm a gangster like that. I swear, I will fight anybody. I don't care if they're four and oh or ten and oh. Like if people want to see it, let's go. Um, so yeah, I think she's gonna do some great things. Scott, I know I have a couple other that I really like right now. Um how about uh what do you think about Gabriella Fondora? Um Gabriella Fondora, yes, she's amazing. She's so great. I think that um, you know, I always said that I don't think that anyone who hasn't had an amateur pedigree can kind of keep up with this generation of women's boxing, but she's kind of like I know she had some amateur fights, but really her career has been as a pro. I think that's benefited her because she has such a sound pro style. You know, she's so relaxed in there. Um, and and she smells when she smells blood, she attacks and she goes. So I think she's gonna be really hard to beat. I don't like the fact that she wants to go down in weight. I think that she has maybe she's I know she's thin and she it's hard for her to put on the weight, but hire nutritionists, do something because you have the height. So you don't necessarily have to put on a ton, you just need to make the limit to fight these girls that are a little bit heavier because that's really where the competition is. So, Gabriella, after you go down, fine, go do what you want to do, but please work your way out. There's so many big big fights for you to have. Um, and I want to see your challenger again. I want to see her challenge yourself against some of those girls.
SPEAKER_02Okay, uh, a couple of fights that are on the horizon. Going to get your take because you you commentate as well, and you're and then you're really good at it. Uh Boots Xander. What do you think?
SPEAKER_01Okay, I think a lot of people are like, oh my God, I can't believe Xander's taking this fight against Boots. Blah blah blah. I think it's great. Xander is so young, no matter what happens, it's a win-win for him because he's so young and he can come back. And I think he has the skills to put on a really competitive fight. Like, I'm tight with Xander, so I'm gonna, I'm gonna root for him, but I I'm not just because we're friends. Like, I really do believe he has the skills to beat him if he if he if he has a perfect fight, right? Like he doesn't he needs to have the right game plan and and not crumble in in moments and keep his hands flowing. And I I don't necessarily know if I'm a boots fan because I really I mean he's got like 30-something fights, and I really haven't seen him fight anybody that has that I that I'm a fan of, you know? And so um it's a little bit slow of a career for me, but I know I still think he's a great fighter, and I just think Xander um I just I think he has a good chance. I think he has a really good chance of beating Boots, and I also think it's just a competitive fight. Again, it's a fight that you you you don't necessarily know the winner, and that's why I like it. And I don't think people are doing that enough. So props to Xander for taking on a challenge early, a fight that a lot of people wouldn't have taken.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. Uh, what do you think about Errol Spence coming back to fight Tim Zoo?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Okay, well, I don't know if Errol Spence needs to come back, but that's not my decision to make, right? That's that's on every fighter when they want to retire, when they if they want to keep pushing, if they want to retire, if they want to come back. So I just hope he's healthy and he feels good, and um, you know, that's what he wants to do. Great. I think that Tim Teezu is probably a good fight to come back against. Like, I think I've always been an Arles Spence fan. I remember when I was coming up, like Coach Al used to make me study his bodywork. Like, look how he digs to the body, look how he digs to the body. So um, you know, if he does that, he'll be good to go.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so we want to make sure we got this right. If now we know you're with MVP, but if Michaela Mayer was her old promoter, give us the next two fights for Michaela Mayer here uh on the horizon.
SPEAKER_01Two fights. Oh, I'll give you three Chantel Cameron, Lauren Price, Clarissa Shields.
SPEAKER_02I like it.
SPEAKER_01And if the order mixes up a little bit, so be it.
SPEAKER_02But right, that's gonna say now realistically this year, what will we see?
SPEAKER_01Well, we're gonna see hopefully Chantel Cameron um in August. Um, I I haven't heard how the negotiations are going, but I'm sure I will hear something within a week or so. Um so Chantel Cameron, then hopefully we can figure this out with Lauren Price. I don't know. Um, but I obviously would love to finish what I started and go undisputed at 147. You know, after this fight, even if I can't get the fight with Lauren, I'm gonna have to go down and defend my belt at some point. And so I would hate for it to be against someone, you know, that nobody cares about or nobody, a fight that nobody wants to see. So come on, Lauren. Let's go.
SPEAKER_02And I uh before I let you go, I gotta bring this woman up because she's also mentioned you Caroline Dubois. What do you think?
SPEAKER_01I think she's a great fighter. I think she looked good um against against Harper, and I think she looked good against Shin. Um, and I think that her and Baumgartner would make a really good fight. I think that they are on the same level. You know, I disagree with Baumgartner thinking that uh Caroline Dubois isn't on her level. I think they both do really good things. They both have some holes in their game. They both probably need to work more on the inside game, right? But since they both don't like it there, it'll be a nice boxing match from the outside. And so we'll see. But, you know, again, like rivalries don't come every day. You have to, you have to run with it when it happens. And so I'm hoping Baumgarner is um planning on fighting Bo. She or sorry, planning on fighting Caroline. Um, she's just kind of you know playing hard to get right now and doing what she got to do. But hopefully it's in the back of her head that she'll make that fight happen and sooner rather than later, because I think it'll be great for the sport.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Well, we'll let you go. But before we let you go, we want to uh give you give you the opportunity to give some messages because I'm sure Alicia Bumgartner will see this episode. What's the message to Alicia Bumgartner?
SPEAKER_01The message to Alicia is girl, if you want the super fights, don't leave this on the table. It's not a it's not a good look and it's a bad business move. It's just a bad business move. So let's do what we did the first time. We did we we sold the hell out of that card. We took women's boxing to to new heights, and it's gonna be even bigger and better this time because women women's boxing has grown so much, and um, we're a part of that. So let's do it again. Let's do it for the fans, let's do it for our bank accounts.
SPEAKER_02How about the outcome? How about the outcome?
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna win better. I'm gonna do it, and I'm gonna do it better. I'm gonna do it better, and uh I'm gonna take it to her because I I know where I know where she's weak. I know where she's weak, and I should have done it the first time, but push her back and I break her down the way that I the thing that I do so well.
SPEAKER_02Lastly, you you heard Clarissa Shields. What's the message to Clarissa Shields?
SPEAKER_01My message to Clarissa is please, please, please do your absolute best to get down to 160 as fast as you can. I don't want to wait. I don't want to wait. I want to get this fight done. Let's go. Um, you know, we got the same nutritionist, so I know she got a plan. Let's let's let's expedite it and get that fight done. Um, I hope that she's as serious about it as I am.
SPEAKER_02I like it. I like it. And again, I think that would turn the sport, I mean, upside down. Gold medalists, I mean silver medalists, Olympic, I should say, Olympic. But that just that alone, and you both of you guys basically there together. Oh my gosh, the storylines are great, endless with it.
SPEAKER_01These are the fights that we need to get done. Like we have to do this, and we can't we can't sit around and wait, we can't be difficult. So I'm the girl. I'm the girl. I'm I'm ready for tough fights back to back to back to back. Yeah, that's all I want.
SPEAKER_02Uh listen, it's so happy, it's so happy to see you. Uh, it's good to have you back uh in the ring. You do a great job. Also, also, do you like commentating?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I do. I was really like, it was nerve-wracking at first, but at the end of the fight card, I was like, oh my god, I remember the first time I threw my headphones off, and I was like, I'd rather, I'd rather fight. I'd rather go in there and fight. That was more exhausting than going in there and fighting. But um, just it's a different skill, you know, that I feel comfortable now. Is and and you just get used to talking because it's like you it's like a conversation now. You you overthink it in the beginning of it. It's just a conversation now. You're just calling what you see, you know. And I know boxing so well, and it helps me with my boxing, right? Because I'm still it's like I'm studying, I'm it's still my brain is still turning. Um, so it's a lot of mental work. It's like boxing mentally versus physically. It gives my body a little break, but keeps my mind sharp.
