In this episode, Holly explores the quiet dreams many of us have set aside — the parts of ourselves we've postponed, the lives we can almost imagine but talk ourselves out of. She reflects on what it means to move beyond survival mode, give ourselves permission to want more, and trust that there is still time to grow into who we are meant to be. The episode closes with a gentle guided meditation to help you expand into possibility and reconnect with the version of yourself that still hopes for something beautiful.

Welcome back to Holistic Aesthetics, the Nora Bloom Method. I'm Holly, and today I want to talk about something tender, something many of us quietly carry inside of ourselves. The dreams we've put away, the parts of ourselves we've postponed, the life we can imagine in fleeting moments, but quickly talk ourselves out of it because it feels impractical, unrealistic, or too far away. I think so many of us have spent years being who everyone else needs us to be: responsible, reliable, selfless, productive. And while there's beauty in caring deeply for others, sometimes we become consumed by duty and we forget that we are people too. We forget that there's still parts of us longing to grow, create, explore, and become. And we were never just meant to only survive. Lately, I've been thinking about how easy it is to fall into survival mode for years without even realizing it. We wake up, we work, we care for others, we manage all the responsibilities, and we just keep on going. And eventually, life can begin to feel more like maintenance than aliveness. But down deep, I think many of us know we were made for more than simply getting through the day. Not more in a hustle-driven sense, and not more achievement for the sake of proving ourselves, more depth, more connection, more beauty, and more honesty. More of things that make us feel truly awake inside of our own lives. The fear of wanting more. I think many of us are afraid to fully admit what we want because wanting something bigger often means facing the possibility of change, and change can feel terrifying. Sometimes it's easier to just stay inside familiar exhaustion than risk disappointing ourselves. But I also think there comes a moment where the ache of staying small becomes heavier than the fear of expanding. And maybe dreaming bigger simply begins with allowing ourselves just to tell the truth about what we want, what we miss, and what we crave more of, not to judge it and not to immediately have it all figured out either, just to finally acknowledge it. There's still time. I think many women quiet believe quietly believe they've missed their moment, that it's too late to start over, too late to create something new, and too late to become the version of themselves they've imagined years ago. But I don't believe that. I think life unfolds in seasons. And sometimes the dream doesn't make sense until we've lived enough life to finally be ready for it. So look, there is still time to create that slower, more meaningful life, to start something more meaningful, to reconnect with your own creativity, to move somewhere new, to change directions and discover who you are underneath all that noise. There is still time to become more fully yourself. And as a sweet little bonus here, I'd love to offer you a guided meditation, expanding into possibility is the theme. So before we close today, if you want to stay for the meditation, stay. If not, I'll see you in the next episode. But if you're in a quiet place and you're able to just lay, sit, or just be somewhere quiet, I'd love to guide you through this very quiet special meditation. It's definitely a moment to connect with a part of you that still hopes for something more beautiful. So if you're able, find a comfortable position and just let your body soften, relaxing your shoulders, taking in a slow breath into your nose, and exhaling through your mouth, and just getting into the body gently, letting your nervous system drop it, drop in, and just breathing in openness and breathing out any pressure that you might feel, closing your eyes gently. If it feels good to put one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly, just breathing into your palms, and just being comfortable with the stillness. Imagine yourself standing at the top of a garden just before sunrise. Everything is still, soft, and quiet. And in front of you is a small gate. And beyond it is a version of your life you haven't fully allowed yourself to imagine yet. A life that feels spacious, creative, meaningful, and alive. You can slowly open the gate and begin walking forward. And as you walk, ask yourself softly, what would my life look like if I stop limiting myself? And just pause here for a moment. Notice what comes forward naturally, not what feels practical, not what others would approve of, just what feels true to you. Now imagine meeting a future version of yourself in this garden. She looks so peaceful, so grounded, and so confident in who she has become. And notice something important here. She is not extraordinary because she became perfect. She is extraordinary because she finally trusted herself enough to grow. She gently looks at you and says, You do not need permission to become who you are meant to be. Breathing right into your palms, one hand on your heart, one hand on your belly, taking a deep breath in, and as you exhale, imagine releasing the fear that has kept you playing small. Feel the possibility of expansion settling gently into your body. There is still so much waiting for you. And when you're ready, slowly open your eyes and release your hands. Wiggling your fingers and toes. So in closing, maybe dreaming bigger is not about becoming someone else. Maybe it's about returning to the parts of ourselves we had to silence for just a little while. The creative parts, the hopeful parts, and the alive parts. And maybe this season of your life is not asking you to shrink in, shrink into responsibility even further. Maybe it's asking you to finally expand.
