Have you ever noticed that the moment you finally stop moving, you realize just how tired you've been?

In this episode, Holly explores one of the most overlooked pathways home to yourself — the wisdom of your own body. We live in a culture that glorifies thinking, pushing, and doing, often at the expense of listening to the quiet signals our bodies have been sending us all along.

Holly shares how caring touch, stillness, and simple somatic awareness can shift the nervous system, release the weight we carry, and gently remind us what rest actually feels like. Whether you're brand new to this podcast or you've been walking this path for a while, this episode is a tender invitation to slow down and come home.

Welcome to the Nora Bloom Podcast. I'm Holly and I'm so grateful that you're here. This is a gentle place for women who are longing to come home to themselves. Together, we'll explore everyday pathways that help us nourish our bodies, awaken creativity, find moments of stillness, deepen connection, and discover the quiet beauty that's been waiting for us all along. Whether you're listening on your morning walk, while making dinner, or simply taking a moment to breathe, I hope these conversations remind you that home isn't a place you have to earn. It's something that you can return to one step at a time. Have you ever noticed that the moment you finally stop moving, you suddenly realize how tired you are? Or maybe when you've laid down for a facial or a massage or even sat quietly with a cup of tea and emotions seem to appear out of nowhere. I don't think this is because we're broken. I think it's because we finally became quiet enough to hear what our body has been saying all along. Today we're exploring one of the pathways home, listening to the wisdom of the body. So we live from the neck up. Our culture teaches us to solve everything with our minds, think harder, push harder, stay productive, and meanwhile, our shoulders rise, our jaw tightens, and our breathing becomes shallow. Our body adapts to help us get through all these difficult seasons. Stress often shows up physically in muscle tension, posture, breathing patterns, and the nervous system's state of alertness. We become so accustomed to these patterns that they can feel normal until we finally slow down. So why touch matters? One of the reasons why I love my work isn't because skincare has big changes to the skin. It's because carrying touch changes how people feel. When we when someone feels safe, their breathing changes, their nervous system settles, their body remembers what rest feels like. I've seen people walk in carrying the weight of the entire month and leave looking lighter. Not because every problem disappeared, but because they experienced one hour where they didn't have to carry it alone. So this is your first pathway home. You don't need a perfect morning routine and you don't need expensive wellness products. Just start here. Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly and take five slow deep breaths. And while you're doing that, ask, what is my body trying to tell me today? Do not rush this answer. Just listen. The quiet conversation that may become one of the most important rituals of your day. So over the coming months, I'll be sharing more about what I'm beginning to call the pathways home. These are simple practices that help us reconnect with ourselves through nourishment, rest, movement, beauty, creativity, and presence. Because I believe wellness isn't about becoming something new. It's about remembering who you were before life became so loud. Until next time, take one deep breath, relax your shoulders, and find one small way to come home to yourself. Thank you for spending this time with me. If today's conversation gave you even one small amount of peace or perspective, I hope you will carry it with you into the rest of the week. Remember, coming home to yourself doesn't happen all at once. It happens one gentle choice at a time. If you'd like to continue walking this path with me, there's more at norobloom.com. Until next time, keep noticing the beauty around you and the beauty quietly growing within you.
