Hello friends and welcome back to the Nora Bloom podcast. I'm Holly, and I'm happy you're here. Over the past few episodes, we've been exploring different ways we care for ourselves. We've talked about nourishment, about feeding our bodies with intention. We've talked about movement, about honoring our bodies through strength and consistency, and we've talked about creativity, about expressing ourselves and reconnecting with parts of us that may have been quiet for a little while. And today I want to talk about something that brings all these pieces together, something a little bit deeper, something I believe that many of us are searching for even if we don't have words for it. I call it the way home. So what is what does that even mean, right? When we hear the phrase finding yourself, to me it sounds like we have to go somewhere new or become someone different or create some new version of ourselves. But I don't really think that's what we're looking for. When I think about it, I think deep down we're longing to return, return to the person that we were before we became so busy, before we started measuring ourselves by productivity, and before we learned to ignore our own needs, before we became disconnected from our own intuition. Coming home to yourself isn't about becoming someone else. It's about remembering who you already are. I think many of us experience a quiet kind of disconnection. I mean, we talk about this in treatments in our sessions, right? We wake up immediately, start thinking about what needs to get done. We move through our days, taking care of all our long, long list of responsibilities. We answer messages, we manage calendars and schedules, we show up for everyone around us, right? Even our animals, sometimes our chickens. And somewhere along the way, we forget to check in with our own selves, right? Like, how am I feeling? What do I need today? What brings me joy? What makes me feel alive? Things like that. We become so focused on doing what we for we forgot about being. And I think the way hum begins with a simple becoming, just be present again, right? There's a lot of noise around us. We live in a world filled with noise, notifications, dinging and donging and tweaking, all the phone noises, right? Opinions and expectations, comparison, endless information. I feel like sometimes my brain's gonna explode. And while technology has brought beautiful things into our lives, many of us are craving something different. Quiet, space, and stillness, a chance to hear our own thoughts again. This is one of the reasons I took a step back from social media. I noticed how easily it was to constantly just look outward, right? And I to see everyone else creating and how everyone else was living and what everyone else was doing. And I slowly, without realizing it, I just started losing touch with my own, my own self, my own creative voice. And stepping away gave me space, space to draw again, paint again, and space to make something just because I enjoyed it, and space to listen, just listen to my own thoughts. And I think listening is a big part of coming home. So let's think about coming back to the simple things. I believe the way home is not found through more. More things, more achievements, more distractions, more pressure. I think the way home is found through simplicity, a walk outside, a nourishing meal that you made, a quiet morning, a handwritten note. One of my favorite things to do is hang my clothes on the laundry line, the clothes line. I love this. It is simple. It it just brings me, yes, it's more work, but it brings me so much joy. Like I look forward to sunny days way and I can hang my dresses out on the line. It's just one of my favorite moments on the farm. Um, even taking care of your skin slowly and intentionally, moving your body, we've talked about that. Resting when you need rest, for goodness sakes. Like, I feel like naps are illegal or something. These small moments are not insignificant. They're moments that reconnect us. So the woman I'm becoming. So here's what's interesting. I've been thinking, well, I think a lot, obviously, but I've been thinking a lot about the difference between changing yourself and caring for yourself. And for many years, I think I approached wellness as something like I had to achieve, right? Something I had to be good at. I owned Tenora Bloom, so I have to be good at all this stuff. But that is that is not true. It's something I have to work towards. A better version of myself has always been somewhere in the future, right? But now I see things a little bit different. I don't want to spend my whole life chasing a version of myself that I that I'll finally be enough. I'm not even sure enough for who. But I want to nurture the person I already am. The woman I am today deserves care. She's been through some stuff, right? We all have. She deserves patience, she deserves kindness, and the woman I'm becoming deserves the foundation of what I'm creating right now. Every nourishing meal, every workout, every creative moment, and every choice I choose, every moment I choose to slow down, these are ways that I am building a relationship with myself. So creating a relationship with yourself, right? I think one of the most important relationships we have in life is the one we have with ourselves, especially women, mothers, grandmothers, the whole thing. And like any relationship, it requires attention. It requires listening, it requires honesty, and it requires showing up. And sometimes we're so focused on being loved, accepted, and understood by others that we forget to offer those things, same things to ourselves. And what would happen if you spoke to yourself in the way you speak to someone you love? And what would happen if you offered yourself the same compassion that you naturally offer everyone else? And what would happen if you became your own safe place? I am a drama-free zone. Like I do not do drama. If I sense it, I'm running. I want a quiet, safe place. So I do hang out with myself more than I used to, and my circle is very, very small. And that's what I need right now. So the journey back. Let's come back home now. So coming home to yourself is never a straight path. There'll be seasons where you feel connected, there'll be seasons where you feel lost, and there'll be moments where old patterns they return and they will return. And this is all part about being human, right? Especially being feminine. I don't know so much about the masculine, but it's definitely feminine. The goal is not to, you know, not to never lose your way. The goal is learning how to come back and return again and again. And of course, you're going to return with kindness, patience, and grace. Every small choice that honors yourself is a step back home. So I've been reflecting on a few things. And I mean, I definitely always have ideas, right? Well, I have a new idea. Um think about this. So I've been reflecting on this idea of coming home, right? And I've been thinking about the importance of creating an intentional space for our lives, a season of slowing down, reflection, reconnecting, and a season of remembering. Because transformations, they don't happen in one dramatic moment. It happens through small daily choices. The way we begin our mornings, we nourish our bodies, the way we care for our homes, the way we speak to ourselves and others, the way we make time for creativity, and the way we choose what we allow in our minds and our hearts. And the journey home is built one day at a time. One intentional choice at a time. So here's a gentle invitation. Today I want to invite you to ask yourself a few questions. Not from a place of judgment and not from a place of needing to fix anything, just with curiosity. So, where have I been disconnected from myself? What parts of me have been asking for attention? What brings me peace? What makes me feel alive? And what do I need more of? And what do I need less of? Sometimes these answers come quietly if you give yourself space to listen. I want you to remember this. You're not a project that needs to be perfected. You are a person who deserves to be cared for. There is a way back to yourself, a way back to creativity, a way back to your body, and a way back to your intuition, a way back to the quiet parts of you that have always been there. This is the way home. And thank you so much for spending time with me today. I hope this episode reminds you that wellness is not becoming someone new. It's returning to who you truly are. Until next time, slow down, listen inward, choose yourself, and as always, bloom gently, and I'll see you in the next episode.
