SPEAKER_03

Tell them I'm back, back, back on it. Tell the whole world that I'm back on it. Raising the Lord got me back on it. I'm the new life for the city, I'm back on it. I turn my back, back, back on it. Old life, turn my back on it. I was a sinner, but then I got saved. I'm serving the Lord till he take me away. Dear Lord, pray you protect my family. Dear Lord, tell the devil unhemming. Dear Lord, I'm sorry that I kept you waiting. Dear Lord, I'm dealing with trials and tribulations. I know that you gon' pick me up anytime I'm feeling down. You the one who had my back when nobody was around. Moving like I was a serpent to the devil. That's a no. Then I got woke, open up the Bible. Started following down this road. Had to regain the strength in my faith. I was at war with demons all day. Had to sit back and stop what I praise. Had to be set apart from my ways. I was caught up in the world, but this world is not for me. I was blind leading the people, walking with God. Now I can see.

SPEAKER_02

I can see the snakes moving through the grass. Try to set me up. I was moving fast. Living lukewarm. Had to pick a side. Now I got the light and I feel so alive.

SPEAKER_03

Tell him I'm back, back, back on it. Dear Lord, tell the devil on him. Dear Lord, I'm sorry that I kept you waiting. Dear Lord, I'm dealing with trials and tribulations. Following God is my biggest flex. Forget about the ice and the chains on my neck. I wanted to quit. I was depressed when my grandma died away hard on my chest. Had to make changes, I even went television, not having sex till I'm married. Blessing and sleeping with all of these women. The way I was living was scary. Shot on my pastor, cause he made me born to get head in the water, got baptized. Ain't no more stressing, I'm really at peace. I'm serving the Lord to a flat line. A lot of these rappers follow what I do. I pray they wake up and follow this too. Learning that I gotta practice what I preach, made it out the fight. I was in it deep. I can see the snakes moving through the grass.

SPEAKER_02

Try to set me up. I was moving fast, living lukewarm, had to pick a side. Now I got the lighting, I feel so alone.

SPEAKER_03

Tell them I'm back, back, back on it. Tell the whole world that I'm back on it. Raising the log, got me back on it. I'm the new life for the city, I'm back on it. I turn my back, back, back on it. Old life, turn my back on it. I was a sinner, but then I got saved. I'm serving the Lord till he take me away. Dear Lord, pray you protect my family. Dear Lord, tell the devil on him. unknown

SPEAKER_03

Don't wanna let you down.

unknown

unknown

SPEAKER_03

Just he a man, only 17, alone in this world. He had a big dream. Oh, got it, how to land on his own. Broken his side, but he still stayed strong. He had parents, but his dad was way too busy chasing women, disappearing. And his mom would take out all that aggression and all her children. Running from cops when he was just a kid. She couldn't stand his face. That's why she kicked him out the grip. All times at the mall, then he met a girl, they made a plan, tryna change the world. 16, she was all alone, and she fell in love with him. They had a kid in here in car. Was playing games, he made a fuck. Never met this kid of 23. Had to accept apologies. Now I got that part of me. I was missing it. I wanna let you down. I know your mom always held it down. I made mistakes, but I'm changing now. I'm ready for it. Oh, you know I got you now. Got you now.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Don't wanna let you down. Don't wanna let you now. I know your mom always holds it down. I know she had it. I made mistakes, but I'm changing now. I'm ready for it. Oh, you know, I got you now. Got you now. Yeah, yeah. If you grew up with no dad and he comes back in your life, just have patience.

SPEAKER_02

Just have patience.

SPEAKER_03

If you find it in your heart to give a second chance, congratulations.

SPEAKER_02

Congratulations.

SPEAKER_03

Look, sometimes you gotta get second chances. Conversations, you get no damage. I'm not saying that like it ain't happen, but we all make mistakes. It's about how you manage. This life too short, it's never too late to make memories pop. Suck a bro, know you like a best friend of me. Had to forgive, I don't wanna be enemies. Can't forget the day that we met. Heartbeat erasing on my chest. Found out I had an older brother. Found out I got two sisters too. Took a trip to Barbados. Found out I was Beijing. Met my family in London. And I ain't never been a stain since. Don't wanna let you down. Don't wanna touch you. I know your mom always held it down. I know she dead. I made mistakes, but I'm changing now. I'm ready for it. Oh, you know I got you now. Got you now.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Don't wanna let you down. Don't wanna touch you. I know your mom always held it down. I know she's held it. I made mistakes, but I'm changing now.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, next back to back is Carolyn Aaron. But track God's speed and nothing can separate. Here I'm back to back.

SPEAKER_06

What's your hairy? Always running so behind. Why the worry? When God's children all got world enough and time. We've got to slow down to catch up. Grow young to grow up. No more chasing the wind. Let the spirit lead till we slow down to God's feel. May we slow down to God's feeling. Why so frantic, little human? You've been raising along England. Time for planting. Time for blooming. Growing at the speed of love. You've got to slow down to catch up. Grow up. Grow up. No more. Chase in the wind the spirit beat till we slow down. To God's beat. And we slow down to God's beat. And if the word has all the time, just take the baking that spread. All we gotta do is slow down. To catch up. Go down. No more chasing the wind. Let us be slow down to God speak. May we slow down to God speak. May we slow down to God speaking to the back-to-back radio. Somewhere there's a mother wicking up the nose in the night that she cannot bear. Somewhere the whole earth is quick and licking dust of the city that was down the mare. Who can say if the trouble comes from above all the hands of faith? Just pray when the trouble does come. You help us to remember the promise you make. I hero. Neither dead nor life, not the past nor the present. No things to come, no hopeful. Neither devil nor hate can separate us from the love of Christ. And the joy they found that he line Leave it alone life, not the past nor the present. Still we know every step that we go, we don't have to walk by our side, we emo, be the dead no life, not the past or the present, things to come, no harm, be the dead light, can we survive us? From the love of Christ, we email, be the dead of life, not the past or the present, things to come, the hard foe, be the dead light, can survive us from the love of Christ.com.

Hello, Toozy. Welcome to Back to Back Radio.

SPEAKER_04

Hello! It's a pleasure to be here.

SPEAKER_05

So Toozy, I wanted to ask how you got started into your music. What happened to that at that time in your life?

SPEAKER_04

My music.

SPEAKER_05

Where'd you move from? Where are we originally from? No, I don't come on. Okay, let's talk about you are the hardest person or individual that you're gonna be. You are looking at them saying, I want to be like that, or this is what my music would be like if I wouldn't do it.

SPEAKER_04

I do look forward to uh I love Mary Mary, I love frankly you know I love music.

SPEAKER_05

Mary Mary, that's cool. Yeah, how old were you when you first started doing music? But when you were started doing it more seriously.

SPEAKER_04

Do I need to talk about my age? Seriously. I think it was about five and a half years ago, like five. I think I I brought out my first song, I believe it was twenty twenty twenty. I brought out five. I started to sing, I think it was in 2019. Um I'm a nurse as well as uh singer songwriter. So I used to commute to Toronto for and on my way commuting there, I started to just sing and I would sing to whatever was playing, and I would sing to my CDs I had, and all you know how sometimes the traffic is very great. So it would take a long time. And so I just started like my I got tired of listening to the same thing over and over again. So I started coming to my own stuff, trying to like sing my own things. That's how I started songwriting actually, and um almost all my songs, like now, almost like pretty much all my music is um written by me for for now anyways. But I started on the 401. So that's a good thing about the 401. Yes.

SPEAKER_05

What happened there?

SPEAKER_04

Well, you know, it is not a joke that we are making. So, you know, I have been doing uh, you know, the songwriting and singing in my car, and then eventually I think I sing for some of my friends, and they were like, Oh my god, you're so good. And then I think for my family, and they were like, I think it's pretty good, but nobody ever like, you know, recording song. But I knew they you know the message that I wanted to have a message that I had to like, you know, tell people about and so um yeah, one day I just woke up and I'm like, I'm gonna do it. And so I went and producer. Um didn't work very well. And uh thankfully God uh producer right now. And he's been amazing. I've been working with everything.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, let's talk about some of the music we have that I like for us to play. Tell me a bit about where that came from.

SPEAKER_04

Like I've been going through some things myself that I've been having trouble. I was actually just talking to someone, and uh when I released that song, I was dealing with a really huge family emergency. Uh my brother started to have like uh some pain and he went to the uh you know to the hospital and was given the wrong medication and just saying I had pain to doctors telling me he had days to live. So I was literally going through that as I was releasing praise in every season. It really speaks hope. You know, it's very hard to praise when you go through some season, but it really is like the song said there is so much power when you turn your pain to praising God because it really changes your outlook. Now you're focusing on God and you're knowing that He's got this, you know, He has it on control.

SPEAKER_07

Praise Him, praise Him When it's summer and it's sunny, everything is going well. Everybody's got a reason to dance, praise Him When it's winter and it's gloomy, as the many reasons to complain. I say praise When it's falling and it's leaves on the ground When it's spring and the flowers just know the season Praise Oh yeah, there's power and praise So when it's winter and it's coming, there's a minute reason to complain I say praise Oh when it's falling it sleeves on the ground When it's spring and the flowers just know In every season In every season There is so much power when we turn our paint friends Did you know the wall of Jericho came down with praise? Yeah There is so much power when we turn our paint face Did you know the wall of Jericho came down with praise Some of the U.S.?

SPEAKER_05

Let's talk about one more song that I think um it probably is good for everyone to listen to because I love the name of the song. It's called You Matter.

SPEAKER_04

You matter. Like a lot of the music that I write, I really write to inspire. I want to inspire people. That's my heartbeat. Every time I write something, I'm always praying to God what do you want your people to hear? What can you give them hope, you know? And be in my career, like the way I work. Like I say, I worked with a nurse. I have I was in West Africa, Liberia, I'm a survival of the Civil Wars. Sometimes it's very easy to get caught up in feeling like you don't matter, you don't belong. And I I know a lot of patients that I've worked with that have, you know, fallen over, you know, somebody who has overdose or something. And usually when you talk to them, it's like nobody, you know, I didn't matter anymore, nobody cared. I I don't belong here. That really is a big myth and a big lie, you know, we because we really do matter. If you're on this earth, God has a purpose, He has a plan for you. I think there's something really amazing about it that God loves us so much, you know? So we need to uh remember that and love ourselves in that. Yeah, that's my message.

SPEAKER_07

You matter little me. What can I do to make a difference? What can I say that even matters? Quiet the noise, hurries of your channel Cause you belong What if the moon refused to rise, cause I thought the sun shines brighter and so much bigger? What if the mouth refused to speak?

SPEAKER_05

Cause I thought the eyes much prettier live like you matter, cause you matter, live like, you matter, cause you matter, God doesn't make mistakes, you matter like you matter, big dreams, little hope wrapped up in fear, afraid to try Cause you might lose Believe it or not, you and me we belong in this big game like a buzzer Where MMP size of place And without you and me it's incomplete So leave a lake You matter Cause you matter Live You matter Cause you matter God doesn't make mistakes You matter So live alike You matter You matter God doesn't make mistakes No You matter You mad because you're mad You better You better Cat also make mistakes Well Toozy thank you so much for being with us on Back to Back Radio You have uh you have an amazing ministry not only with your music but with your job We appreciate you and we thank you Thank you thank you for having me Well folks there you have it another show in the books Thank you so much for joining me on today's program and if you want to join me on Facebook I am there Back to Back Radio Canada that means if you want to you can leave me a message I'd love to hear from you anyways take care God bless for now
