What's up and welcome back to the New Life Podcast. New Life Podcast number, however many. But my dad, I was talking to my dad. Sorry, I'm just jumping into it. Jump right in. That's how we like talking to him yesterday. He was like, Oh, you guys filming today? It's a Monday. I was like, no, we always film on Tuesdays. And he was like, Oh, that's great. He's like, I was looking at the thing. It said like 2021 episodes. He was like, You guys have been doing this for 20 weeks? I was like, Yeah. Like he was like, I I could have sworn like you guys started this, like it was like a new year project. Like, oh, okay, we started in jail. I'm like, no, dude, we've been ripping for 20 weeks. But what is that? So maybe it was around the new year. Well, we have done, we have filmed a couple of episodes in the same week. Oh, yeah, true. So it's probably been well, we started we had a Christmas episode. We had a lot of things. Thanksgiving was before then. So we yeah, it's oh wow, it's had to be since like October or something like that. That's crazy, dude. Ripping it up. We're still doing it. We also have to apologize to the people because we have a listen, we have a producer, we have we have people working here on the pod, yep, namely Mateo. Not to name names, but not to name names, but Mateo said we were done with the fruit of the spirit and us just being the talent where we assumed producers in control. I did say, I remember saying on the podcast last week, that went by too fast. I think there's more. We forgot faithfulness, we forgot faithfulness. We've been faithful podcast hosts and we've been faithful putting these out as a team, but we forgot faithfulness. And Mateo's not here today to defend him. No, he's very sick. So he's very sick. Instead, we have no camera because we said nope, you still can't have a camera for this job, but we got Spencer on the move. We got Spencer Mike. Spencer's had the people. Hey guys, I finally I finally got a mic. Yes, we got a mic, and he can defend himself if we start making fun of him today. Exactly. He's gonna have the the point at the end he's gonna share with us, so he doesn't know that yet, but he is a sweet, sweet, sultry voice. Yeah. Uh yeah, just a fun little tidbit. On um Tuesday mornings we have prayer, and Spencer is a great prayer, and we always love like it'll get quiet, and then the next person will go, and Spencer will go, and his voice is just smooth, it's like molasses, like molasses, like molasses coming out of your mouth, kind of spilling out of your mouth, like a savanna accent. Yeah, no, he does. He has a very nice voice. So if you hear something angelic, it's just Spencer talking. So next week we'll start uh The Armor of God. That's it. This week we'll finish up Faithfulness, but before we do, do you have a fun fact? I have a fun fact. Do you have a fun fact? I do. I have I I like I like having two. I have two share yours first. Well, the first one I didn't know, and now I want to go home and try it. Did you know that lemons float, but limes sink? There's no way that's true. That's that's what it said. I gotta go home and try it. Lemons float. Lemons float, lime. Lime sink sink. Did it there's no other explanation? That's all it said on the internet. That's all it said on the internet is that lemons float and lime sink, and so now I gotta go home and I gotta test it out. I'll report back. A little while ago, this might have been like a year ago now. I feel like there's something in my throat. Yeah, I feel like there's a bubble in there. Um Pooh. But we went, yeah, poo bags. Uh but we went by like the aircraft carrier in New York. Yeah. And I like said to Nicole, I was like, I'm like, how does that thing float? Like, look at all the metal on there, like all the thing, and she was like, it's buoyancy. Like, and I was like, all right, well, I'm just gonna go. It's still doesn't make any sense. No, like when you're on the can you explain that to me then? No. No, like when you're on the intrepid, like in fourth grade on your on your trip, and you're like, there's literally like thousands of pounds of airplanes on top of this, and then this metal ship just going through the water, like somehow doesn't sink, but I drop like a penny in water. Doesn't make any sense. Also doesn't make any sense how helicopters go forward, but you know, because the propellers up here, you know. They gotta take it. Make sense how it goes through, right? You know, I know they have that one in the back, but helicopters. Is there anybody at Sikorsky that can explain to us how helicopters no? We have a guy, we have a few guys at our church that work at Sikorsky, and one of them's like an engineer, and he he told us one time, he's like, there's no there's no reason why helicopters should like exist or work, but they just didn't uh you'll never catch me in a helicopter, dude. Nah, I would flew in I flew in one I flew in a helicopter flown in a helicopter twice. You've done it nah. One time, actually, both times were really cool. One time, these could be fun facts too. One time was liter and I mean it's kind of a somber thing, but was like a month or so after 9-11 in New York. We went down to New York for something, and when we were leaving, they have like that helicopter thing, like over on the Hudson River there. Uh uh, what's the face? The Henry Hudson, and and we went up in the helicopter and we flew over 9-11 and it was still smoldering. Bro, that's crazy. And then the second was on my honeymoon in in Hawaii, and we flew one, and it takes you, you know, the beginning, you know the scene of Jurassic Park. Sorry, one second. You can finish this. That's crazy that they were like, you know what? Tourist attraction, we're gonna get some. I don't even think it was it wasn't, you know what it was. It was like a helicopter around the city, and the guy flying the helicopter was like, You guys want to see something crazy? And he just flew us over. What is that? I feel like that's a little insensitive. Yeah, that's what I mean. This guy's making money. I also flew on an airplane like the week after 9-11, and there was like full-on machine gun, like legit military at the airport and stuff's crazy. Sorry, to Nash to uh Memphis to Upward, Upward basketball conference. That's wild in your throwback. Throwback, yeah. Um, wait, so your other one was in Hawaii. On my honeymoon in Hawaii, and we flew, you know, the opening scene of Jurassic Park? We flew, you flew, you fly that route. I can't, I'm like stuttering today. You fly that route. And it was really cool, but yeah, no, uh ever since ever like they just crashed too much. Um we're not gonna talk about the white Kobe. Yeah, there we go. We maybe we uh and then my other fun fact I don't know if you knew this or not, Trinity College in uh Ireland, in England, oh 1800s, guy named Lord Byron, who's a poet, big animal lover, and was really mad. Talk about uh giving it to your school here, was really mad Byron, Lord Byron was really mad that the school had a no pets policy, and so he brought a trained bear and kept it in his room. He kept it in his room. Look it up, look it up, dude. He was really mad that the the the school said no dogs forget about it. How'd he get the bear? He was like, fine, no dogs, I'll bring a trained bear. Obviously, he had a connect at the at the circus, yeah. Dude, when we were in college, it was before I got there, but I think it was Drew's freshman year, they snuck a cat into their yeah, we had a guy on our floor that had one. He had a cat, and so I guess it was like late at night once, and it was really hot, and so they kept the window open, and the cat jumped up on the window, and you could see the silhouette of the cat, and somebody ratted him out. I think the cat's name was Toulouse. I don't know why that's Toulouse. Toulouse. But yeah, there you go. Why do people gotta tell on people like that? What's it doing to you? There's not it's not affecting you at all. You didn't even know it was there. It was probably there's a lot of things. Maybe it's because they saw this they saw the shadow, they shouted a shadow. Maybe it's because they saw the shadow and they thought it was a tiger, like a yeah, a panther or something. Because the well, no, it's a cat. Well, it's your fun fact. I see you brought props. I brought a prop today. So fun fact is now that March Madness is on, and by the time this comes out, it's it's getting almost close to the conclusion. We'll have the by the time this comes out, we'll have the final four. We'll have the final four. You won't be able to see it clearly, but I actually worked at True, you did at the March Madness Tournament, NCAA tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 2017. This is they gave this to us on our way out. They like let us keep our like band. There's a picture that Spencer's gonna add in post so you can see me on the court after the games were concluded. But so my job for that week was I worked, so I was I graduated with a sport management degree, and it was during my senior year, and my athletic director and boss at the time, he called me and was like, Hey, like, do you want to go to March Madness? Like, they're looking for volunteers. He's like he's like, I'd love for you to go, it's a great experience. So they put you up in like a hotel for the whole week. Easiest mess of your five or six days you're there, and like you do a whole training day, then you do there's tournament day one, then there's like media practice day the next day, then there's tournament day two, because it's those that first round. And so yeah, and so my job for the week was communications. I was so like in the programs and the things that would go out, there was interviews, and so I was player interviews. So like I got to interview like what's his name? Is it Frank Mason? Is that his name on Kansas? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So like he he was like the he was the player of the year that year, like so it was like a really cool experience. But like Reggie Miller's there working like on the broadcast team, and like everybody eats a lunch in the same place and stuff. So like I'm eating lunch and having like my lunch with Reggie Miller and didn't hear Marvel or something like that. Bill Self, like all of those guys. Tom Izzo was there, so like Michigan State, so Draymond Green came to a game. He was a Michigan State player, and so he came to a game, and so we got to meet him every time. He punched Devin right in the face. Yeah, he punched me in the the the craziest one was um UC Davis was there, like University of California did, and they hadn't been in the tournament in years, and Rob Lowe was filming, he went to UC Davis, that actor, and so he was filming in Oklahoma, Ageless Wonder, and so Rob Lowe came to the game, and so I got to meet Rob Lowe. That's cool. It's like the most random thing ever. But you don't have a phone the whole time because they don't want there's like you know, like you never see anything from behind the scenes of March Madness unless they post it themselves. It's because they don't want people, like I guess a few years ago they had people who posted the picture of them working, and they people copied the like badge that you get and they printed them themselves, laminated them, and they were sneaking into the tournaments. It's kind of smart, so but yeah, so that's my fun fact is is in 2017 I got to work at the NCAA tournament. And it's cool because once for my job, I didn't have like mine was post-game interviews, so like I gotta go watch the game. So me and you didn't have to do anything during the game. My buddy who I was hanging out with for the week, like who it was his job too, is we'd go sit in the front row and we'd on like the media row and watch the watch the NCAA tournament. Yeah, probably one of the cooler experiences of my life. Also, little little tidbit there. Uh, how about the back of that magazine, dude? Rogue one. Rogue one. Look at the whole Star Wars Star Wars reference. I know what that is. What a time to be alive. What a time to be alive. And they put me up in the hotel, but because I was so late to coming, they had to put me in a a suite. So I was up in this hotel on like the like 47 large suite for free in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tulsa, Oklahoma, baby. Just living the dream. It was a blast, dude. Yeah, there we go. That's it. There you go. There's your march mad personal fun fact. Personal fun fact. That's great. I just wanted to share that with everybody. I don't ever get to tell anybody that. So it's great to share cool things with people. There you go. People like to get to know you. I don't know if that's true, but we'll share anyway. Yeah, we'll share. We're our lives are an open book. What are we talking about today, open book? We're talking about the open book of the Bible. Faithfulness! Now that we're all awake again after my boring story. That was a great story. What faithfulness is is steadfast in affection or allegiance, firm in adherence to promises, or in observance of duty. Man, he just gives us the longest. That's the 1828. He he he knows to give the right one. Galatians 5 22, but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, we didn't forget gentleness, self-control against such things. There is no law. Um obviously this is they're all big ones. This is clearly one of the bigger ones in this whole thing, and it's the thing that ties together our entire relationship uh with Christ as well as our relationship with people. Yeah. Is having faith in people that they're gonna come through, that they're gonna be who they say that they're gonna be, and that we live up to the expectations that people have for us. And I wrote down like one of the reasons I think we might have forgotten about it is because like faithfulness in itself, it's not flashy. Like it's just you're showing up, you're just there, you're just doing it. So I wrote down it's not flashy, it's foundational. And so it's like it's something that we need to be faithful, like all the the people that we look up to when it comes to like they're doing what they're supposed to do, they're great at their job, they're faithful people. Like it's it's not something that's in your face all the time, but it's it's something it's the behind-the-scenes stuff that it's always when people aren't faithful that we notice. Yeah, it's never when people are faithful. Like, I relate it to uh like if you watch an entire football game, there'll be a left tackle that doesn't allow any pressure on the quarterback, but that one time he allows a sack, everyone's like, Oh, the left tackle, and it's like bro, for 68 snaps, this guy has protected this quarterback, and the one time he gets beat, that's what people focus on. And I think, like you're saying, faithfulness is this is this underrated, non-flashy thing that a lot of people they don't notice until somebody who was faithful to them maybe is out of their lives, and now they're trying to replace it with somebody who isn't, and it's like, whoa, how awesome was that person that used to be that used to be faithful in my life. And the verse that I had um to share is Hebrews 1023, but I just made a quick note is like when it comes to being faithful, being a Christian, being a believer, our faithfulness should reflect God's faithfulness to us, which is obviously paramount in our lives, which we see it in different areas and different things, like God being faithful. But 1023 it says, Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. So again, our faithfulness we can rely on what God's Word is saying is He's been faithful to us, we need to be in faithful to others. We need to have that same faithfulness in our walk, same faithfulness in our relationships, same faithfulness in our faith. Um every single day. I think again, it's not flashy, but what is it? Faithfulness in our walk, spending time in God's word daily, spending time in prayer daily. We were in prayer meeting this morning and your papa he just started praying, and that's what he said. He's like, I hope that there's young men in this room. I hope that and he calls everybody young men because he's the oldest guy. But it's uh he's like, I hope that that they would be men who would read God's word. And it's like, yeah, what will that take? Incredible faithfulness to to say, you know what, I'm a man who reads God's word, not just somebody who picks it up occasionally, not just somebody who no, somebody who studies it, somebody who who learns from it, somebody who lives it in their lives, and that takes faithfulness. Well, it's consistency, yeah, right? So it's the same, you know, we have it written there, like the opposites are disloyalty, betrayal, inconsistency. Yeah, like what the world provides is commitment only when it's convenient, short-term dedication. Like it's the same for all of these different fruits that we've been talking about, but it's that idea of I I I can't just be I can't just have goodness in one area and not another. I can't just be kind when I feel like it. I can't just have faithfulness when it comes to only the people I like or only what doesn't inconvenience me. Like if I want to be a faithful person to God and to the people around me, then I have to be consistent. I I gotta read my Bible even when I don't feel like it. I have to pray even when life's awesome or horrible. I I gotta learn how to talk to God. I gotta get to church consistently, I have to be faithful to God in those things. But then in turn, when I'm disciplined enough to be faithful to God because He's faithful to me, I will also then learn how to be faithful to the people in my life and to the people that I'm friends with or that I'm close to or I'm in a relationship with, to my wife, to my kids. I'm faithful to those people and faithful uh because of the disciplines that I've created being faithful to God. One of the things that I found when I'm talking about it and looking at it is the difference between passion and faithfulness. It's like anybody could be passionate for a moment, but faithfulness, true faithfulness, like takes time. And then the other thing I thought of was just like if it's real faithfulness, like real faithfulness is rare because it takes endurance. Like people don't want to keep going when things get tough. People don't want to remain faithful in their walk, in their relationships, in the things that God has told them to do or or their calling because it's it takes a lot of work, because it takes endurance. Like, obviously, like I'm not the biggest person when it comes to working out or running or anything like that. But what is it going like you build that endurance, you build it, build it. What is that? It's gonna take a lot of time, it's gonna take a lot of effort, it's gonna be really, really difficult at certain points, and you're not gonna want to do it, which is why I don't do it. Um, but it's like it's the same in your faith, it's the same in your faithfulness. It's it's gonna be a marathon, it's not just a sprint. Anyone could be passionate for just a second, but it's true faithfulness that sticks around. Well, it's all it's like you're saying, it's not flashy. A lot of the non-flashy things are everyday things, yeah. Right? So it's being faithful in the everyday things, and that what will lead to God blessing you with the big thing. I think a lot of people they get in their prayer closet and like, God bless me, bless me, God do this, God do that, this opportunity, that opportunity. But they want that flash in the pan, like bang, there's the big thing, but they're not faithful in the everyday. I mean, we don't, you know, obviously my brain goes to David a lot, but like David doesn't defeat Goliath if he's not faithful as a shepherd every single day. And in his faithfulness every day as a shepherd, what is he doing? He's playing his harp, he's worshiping God, he's building character, he's building strength, he defeats a lion, he defeats a bear. He's faithful in that small thing that God has given him, and because he's faithful in that, now God can bless him with the big thing. And I think a lot of times we want God to bless us with the big thing, but we don't want to be faithful in the little things. Like I don't I don't want to go to school every day and work my hardest. I don't want to go to work every day and and even though I don't like who I work for or who I work with or what I do, I I I don't want to put the effort in. Yeah, but if you want God to bless you in the big thing, you gotta learn how to be faithful in the little things and be consistent and do them the right way, and then God will in turn bless you with the with the bigger. Well, that and we see it a lot with unfortunately students, high school students, young adults, college kids, like they come up through church or they go to these these big events, right? Like you saw it through youth ministry, I see it in youth ministry, right? We have like these amazing events. Uh we just had a great young adults event, and it's like you see this move of the Holy Spirit, and it's this awesome moment, and it's this great thing, and then what happens six months later? They're not serving Christ, or they're not because there was no faithfulness there, because there was no dedication to that, because there was no commitment to that. It was stop. I mean, you've preached about it, right? We talk about it certain times, like there's this emotional roller coaster, this emotional high that we get. We're like, Oh, this is what it is. I don't know. It's gonna take faithfulness, it's gonna take dedication to keep going, to keep pushing through to when something comes up, like David. David's faithfulness is shown in the way that he responds to how Goliath is talking about his God as well. That's David's relationship and his faithfulness to God is no, nobody's gonna talk about my God like that because I'm faithful to him, I'm gonna defend it. And there's certain things in our lives that they're so much smaller than a giant talking about that, but we walk away. And that's built, right? That that the way David responds to Goliath, that again, that's not a once-in-a-moment happening, that's built in the shepherd moments, that's built in in the field by yourself, alone, with a bunch of sheep, uh, making sure that they're safe and talking to God. That's built in those consistencies. That's when the big thing happens. And you brought up that amazing young adults event we had a week or so ago, and and an incredible night with young people, I mean, over almost you know, almost 600 young adults on a Friday night out to worship God, and and they were eager and they were hungry. But I would tell all those young adults, and I'll tell everyone listening to this it's easy to be faithful in that moment. Like, oh, there's a young adults thing, I'm gonna go and I'm gonna worship. But how about two days later when you got to get up for church, and maybe the church that you go to is smaller than that young adult's thing? Maybe the Worship's not as good, maybe the sermon's not as good, maybe this that like that's the Friday night. The rah-rah, look what God is doing. The big moment, it's built in those small, faithful moments where on a on a Wednesday morning I wake up and I read my Bible, and it's just me. That's what builds to those moments, and it's that in it's that consistency in those small moments and understanding that God uses the little things to build you up to the big things and to the big moments. Yeah, my wife she does a great job of reminding me of this, but reminding people and and other friends that she's talked to about this is like be faithful in the season that you're in as well. Is like there was so many things like when I first started in ministry, or I wanted to do this, or I wanted to do that, or as a dad in this season, I was and she would always remind me, be faithful now. You need to be faithful in this season and what God has given you, and then like you said, you said it a second ago, God will start to give you more or bless you with more or promote you to something that you didn't think you would even be able to do because again, but because of that faithfulness, it's not this prosperity, no no no, it's it's what we're supposed to do, it's what God's Word tells us to do. Putting in the wordful, and it goes, I don't know, or there there might not even be hardly any like young uh pastors that listen to this, but it's one of the things that I uh always try to encourage young uh people in ministry with is like just because you're somewhere for 18 months and you haven't seen like the breakthrough doesn't mean you get to just leave and go to another church. Like put the work in, like be be fa and I think obviously that's something we've seen here over time, and I've obviously seen in my own family is like God doesn't just do the I mean he he can do these things overnight, but usually he doesn't because he wants to make sure that you are faithful in the little things through the hardships, through the difficulties, through you know, you're plowing some some boulders out of your field in order to come along and cultivate and do everything that God wants to do, and it takes work, but you have to be faithful in the midst of that. Yeah, so I wrote down it's just a little challenge. Um when everything in you this week, right, when it comes to your prayer life, when it comes to your quiet time in the secret place, when it comes to your relationships, when it comes to uh your witness to somebody else, when everything in you wants to just quit and give up, stay planted because that's true faithfulness. Stay planted in God's word, stay planted in that calling that God has given you, stay planted in um your relationship with Him. Because in that, like regardless of what's going on, when you want to quit, when you want to give up, that's true faithfulness. That's when it'll show up. That's when God can say, Okay, they're being faithful with what I've given them and the opportunities that that I've blessed them with. Learn how to stick around. Learn how to stick around. In in not just spiritually, but relationally, right? Like definitely. Learn how to stick around, learn how to be faithful to people, even when they mess up. God's faithful to you. Learn how to be God has forgiven you and been faithful. He hasn't left you, so then you shouldn't just turn your back. But all right, Spence, your uh final notes. Read the uh read the orange there for us.
SPEAKER_00There we go. Um so Matt wrote a little bit. No, you wrote I wrote down these notes before Mateo left. Yeah. Um it says, keep commitments and be disciplined even when emotions fade, because emotions fluctuate, but God's faith faithfulness never will. Um the first thing I thought of when I read this was like camp. Like you guys were just talking about how like it's so easy for youth students and young adults to be like on a high, and I cannot there were so many times at camp when I was like in middle school or in high school, and I'd get to camp, and like we'd all be at the altar, like crying and like being like, Oh, I'm coming back to you, like I'm I'm I'm putting everything behind me, and then two weeks go by, we're in high school, we're in middle school, and we just go right back to what we were doing. Yeah, you know, bad mouthing, gossiping, talking the way that high schoolers talk because we didn't have faithfulness, we didn't have that endurance that it's talking about here. Yeah, um I relate this like to my own life right now because um I mean, as you guys announced last week, I got engaged. Yeah, all that stuff. I can't believe it. Uh I'm not gonna clap. The way that I think about it is like I was talking about this a little bit in prayer this morning, is it's very easy for me to like rush things. It's very easy for me to want to be in the future and and prepare for things, but forget where I'm where I'm at now. Um and I think that it's important in this season to do what I need to do now to get ready to be a husband, to stay in my word or to stay in his word, and you know, just stay faithful to what God has me doing right now.
SPEAKER_01Because it's preparing you for what's next, right? Exactly. Yeah, yeah, it's the preparation. And I I think what when he read that out loud, what I was thought of and what I was thankful for is that God isn't emotional. Yeah, like his emotion don't fluctuate, right? Like he's emotional in the sense that he loves us and he's hurt when we disappoint him and when we fail him, but at the same time, I'm sure if God was emotional, we wouldn't even be here right now because he'd be like, I'm so frustrated. We all know somebody, right? And it's like again, sometimes it's me, sometimes it's certain people or certain situations, like you don't know who you're getting, right? Or like this person's the nicest person, and then on the wrong day you catch him, and it's like, okay, that you don't want anything. So be faithful in your emotional life as well. That's interesting. Because God's faithful. That's what I was that's like what I was thinking. I'm like, man, there's like highs and lows in our emotions. I didn't even really piece that together. Highs and lows. You've been jamming to that too lately. Shout out Aiden. Shout out Aiden if you're listening. He's definitely not, but that's fine. Somebody tag Aiden. Hey, we got Leland. Dude, Leland has seen a few clips. He follows us both on Instagram now. I wake up every day and I'm like, man, thank you, Lord. Yeah, I wrote it on my mirror in my bathroom. Yeah. Leland follows you. That way I can encourage myself. Just wake up in the morning, like, man, I'm doing something right. Doing something for Jesus here. That's crazy. That is insane. Be faithful. Just as God is faithful. Be faithful. Stay rooted in God's word, spend time in prayer. Can't believe we missed that. Going to church. Yeah, it's a big one. It's kind of a big one. It's a subtle one though. Okay. Yeah, because well, because every other one that we talked about, you basically hit on being faithful, right? Like, yeah, you know, like if I want to have self-control, if I want to be kind, I have to, you know, I have to do all these things. Obviously, if I want to love, I need to do it. Faithfulness really is just a huge one, though. It's big, like it's it's the little, it's the little kind of cord that holds everything together. Holds it all together. I like that. That's like one of those like posters. It's like faithfulness, the tiny cord that's a big thing. The tiny cord everything together. I love that. You buy it at Cracker Barrel. Put it at the yeah, this house practices faithfulness, the tiny cord that holds it all together. That holds it all together, and it's like a yarn, like a yeah, selling it on Etsy with our merch. Bunny, with our merch. New life podcast merch. Let's go. Yeah. We got some sick pictures floating around. Ideas. I'm excited. I'm excited too. Mateo, get on it when you listen to this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, when you listen to this, we'll make sure that you get it on it. Oh, I had a great idea. I was thinking of this before we shot. Okay. It would have been so funny if I put a mustache on just acting like it's a big one. Do it in post. Do it in post.
SPEAKER_01Would have been even funnier if you had done it too, because there's no camera on you. So it wouldn't have been a good one. So it wouldn't matter. Yeah. There's literally no camera for you. I was thinking that when he was just talking, I was like, people are just staring at us hearing this voice right now. Yeah. But Mateo was too lazy to set up a camera. So dang, dude. Or you were. Somebody was. Somebody was. Somebody was too lazy to set up a camera for Spence.
SPEAKER_00So they told me no camera. No one wants to see you. I've been stuck in that corner for months. So far 20 weeks. Get this man a camera. Almost half a year. Almost half a year. Yeah, we started in uh late September. Yeah, it is almost 52 weeks.
SPEAKER_01I mean 52. We're right there. We're right there, right there. Right there. What are we gonna do for our one year? Dude, live stream here. A live stream. Live stream.
SPEAKER_00Guys, I thought that was a great one.
SPEAKER_01A live, a live one, dude. Me and Mateo were at when we were at Next Steps, I would love to eat the pizza with the passers. We were like, dude, people would eat that up. Like if we just did people could come and sit in? Yeah. Like did it in the in the newsroom. Yeah, and like set it up and did that, like pizza and stuff, and then we just like shot an episode. Like in You think people would come? Dude, it would not even be a question. It would be all like 50 to 65 year old women. That's fine. That's our major demographic. That's fine. It really is, though. Yeah, literally every uh anybody unless there's just a bunch of people who watch that don't say anything. The people who come up and say stuff to us is all middle-aged women. I think there are people that watch it and then they just don't acknowledge that they watch it at all. Like that we like they that literally shake my hand like every Sunday. Like, take care, have a good week, and like don't say anything. They would never say it. I mean, there are people who that, yeah, they give compliments, or they hate it. Because most people that say something, it's always positive, like, hey, I love the podcast. There's people who've checked it out and they're like, not for me. Yeah. Which is fine. For sure. We have people on staff that don't watch it. I mean, I think it should be mandatory. We should do it, yeah. It should be like we have prayer meetings on Tuesday morning. It should be an all staff. You have to watch Wednesday. In that room downstairs with it on the TV. Yeah. I mean My wife makes both my kids watch it. It's like mandatory. Like you're watching Daddy's podcast today. That's awesome. Do they like it? Yeah, they do. They do. Do they think I'm in the East Games podcast? Oh, yeah, but they already knew that. Devin's a good. No, Harper's your biggest fan. Harper loves it. Thanks. Harper loves when Uncle Dev sings, dude. Oh, thanks, Harper. She's going to be pumped next Sunday or this coming Sunday. I mean, a few Sundays, apparently. Palm Sunday and Easter, right? You're ripping it. And Good Friday. And Good Friday, dude. Oh my goodness. Voice is going to be shot. Guys going to want to raise. I mean, anytime. Let me know. Working overtime, dude. Working nonsense. You have something to close out here? I do. Have I got something for you? Is that how the song goes? Yeah. Um here we go. Look at that sick phone case, huh? What do you got in there? My brother got me this phone case. It has it holds a card. It holds a card. Usually it has a Star Wars card in there. What do you got in there? Griffey? Griffey because baseball starts this week. Ooh, we film it. I got it. Opening the vintage Ken Griffey Jr. Based on when we're filming this right now, opening day is tomorrow. Well, opening night because there's just one game. Opening day is really Thursday because there's all on Thursday. Okay, I got a couple of lists for those socks. Yeah. Um, and so a couple of lists. Lists. So you have to blind rank. All right. All right. So we're doing this again. We're gonna do set me up. In in no no no, there's no setup because it's not there's no hook. There's no genre. Like there's no you're just blind ranking everything. All right. Everything one to what? Everything. One to five. So it's two, five, and then Spence. Maybe we could add it to the screen if you're watching. Okay. If it's not too much work. Give them too much extra work. If it's not too much work. I love editing first one. All right, one through five. All right, all right, all right. Here we go. Locked in. Login chat. Okay, shoelaces. Where would you put that? One through five. Four. You're gonna go full Velcro on the shoes and like ranking other canes and stuff. All right, so I just bought the backless canes, the slot the slip in canes, the recover. Clutch. I don't recover from anything, so I don't think I can wear those. Yeah, but your feet hurt when you wear your Converse, don't they? I do. That's why you've been wearing your golf shoes everywhere. Alright. Uh so we're moving on. Shoelaces. Put at four. Yeah, I'm gonna give it a few. Alright, second one. Battle of Gettysburg. Five. Hlu. Are you serious? I mean, yeah, Civil War, that's cool, but. Okay. Next one. McDonald's Coca-Cola. You could say Coke Zero for you, because I know you learn it. I get an iced tea when I go to McDonald's. Alright, you're leaving one and two. I'm leaving one and two open. I'm hoping these are good. Alright. The library. Oh. Uh pass. No. I guess two. I'm not putting it at one. Alright, number one, number one answer on this list for Pastor Luke is five-letter names. That's cool. Like Devin. Devin, bro! Let's go. Five-letter names. I'm going to review it. Five-letter names. The library. McDonald's Coca-Cola. Shoelaces and the Battle of Gettysburg. Okay. That's Pastor Luke's first blind rank list. Alright, I got another one if you want to. Oh, your list. Like, what is he even? When is he even blinded? Blind ranking everything, dude. It's everything. Yeah, but you're just sitting on the couch and you're like, shoelaces. The battle. Maybe you do have ADB, bro. I am. I'm like sitting there. I'm like, man, that'd be good. That would be fun. Alright, here we go. Next one. You ready? Alright, I'm ready. I'm locked in. Werewolves. Five.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_01Not even real, first of all. We don't know that for sure. I shot one once, but when I got over to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog. That is classic, dude. Werewolves films. Werewolves five. Five. Somebody's buzzing. What was that? Jay Lopez? Told him we were filming. We're filming a podcast in here. I told you it was Jay Lopez, dude. Alright. Werewolves at five. Second one. The study of plants. Is it botany? Botany, yeah. I believe so. Where would you put that? Four. Four. I don't care about that at all. Alright, here we go. Next one, a can of Campbell's soup. Oof. Like creamy tomato with a little grilled cheese. I'll go two. We'll put that at number two. Alright, here we go. The last name Ferguson. Like Terrence, tight end Los Angeles Rams. That's three. We'll go three with that. Alright, so what's left? Number one? Number one. Number one. The Spanish language. Dude. I love the Spanish language. Another great ranking. Yeah, Chilo Chile. I should have worn it. That's it. That was it. I just saw the number of it on it. That's fun. Yeah, he bought a shirt with it on it.
SPEAKER_00Seriously?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, dude. I can't wait till it's warm out so I can wear it and everybody could see it. It's a short. You could do the long sleeve under the short sleeve like you like today. You've been bringing that back. I'd do like that 90s vibe. You and the other girl that was leading worship. Yeah, dude, we were twinning. Alright, don't say what I say. What? We were. I love it when that happens. It's the best. It is the best. That's my favorite. Oh man, that is so funny. All right. You have anything else you need to tell these people? I don't know. I don't know. This is coming out before Easter? Yeah, this will be the Monday. So you gotta be there for Easter. Yeah, Good Friday. When you're listening to this, Good Friday, 8 a.m. communion service. Quick hour service. One hour so you can get to work if you need to. Good Friday morning and then Easter Sunday at Trumbull High School. 8 30 and 10 30. Plenty of time to get in, get out. But you need to, like we say this all the time, but you really do. Like you got to get there early because you are not getting a seat. Especially the 10 30 people that's gonna be. Especially the 10:30. It's crazy. And again, please, please, for our volunteers and for my dad's sake, whatever seat they put you in, just be like thank you. I'm here now. Like I get a seat inside like the amount of people on Easter. Yo, that was crazy. Just sometimes it hits me. I think I have low blood sugar or something. Or what is what makes you yawn? The lock lack of oxygen to your brain. Yeah. So I should be dead within the hour. But um, but get there, be happy that you're there. Remember the reason for the season, as they say, for Easter. Easter at Trumbull High is awesome, and but it does get really crowded. And and if you're gonna if you're consider yourself a part of new life, you're like, man, I'm I'm a new lifer, and you maybe don't have kids or something like that, like try to come to the 8:30. Yeah, that would be very helpful. Same room at the 1030 for visitors and you know, save room.
SPEAKER_00He said save room. Dude, you're I swear like a car room and save room, save room, room, room, room, little buddy, save room, save room, dude.
SPEAKER_01So here comes the airplane. That's a thing the other day was like, how do babies know? You're like, say dada, and they just go, dada, and they don't say say. Like, why? Like, say mama, mama, how do they know what say means? I don't know how why that's so funny, dude. I don't think they actually know what the word say means. I think they're just they're copying what say dada you're doing with your lips. Like how, like how Georgie was doing this after my dad was doing it. I think they're just mimicking. Dude. Oh, we she does a new one now that if you look at her and you like look up to the thing, she'll like she'll like try to do it. It's so funny, dude. It's hilarious. No words coming out, just full-on mimicking. That's it. First word, yeah. Immediately she like saw me one morning and was like, dada. Nicole's like, that was the clearest thing. Like, I'll never deny that. Yeah, both my kids said dada before they said. It's easy it's just easier. I think I don't think so. I think they just love us more. Say dada. How do they know? How do they know? What if one did rip a say before it? You're like, I mean, it's kind of close to say, he probably could have said it. Cy. He said dada first, too. And then he just started saying every dinosaur ever. He was like, dada. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Easy. Easy to say. Easy to say. Yeah. Ankyleosaurus. You're like, bro, what are we talking about? What are we talking about, brother? All right, that's it. That's all we got for today. That's it for the pod. We hope that you have a great rest of the day. Again, if you care to sponsor the pod and want us to shout out your business, please let us know. We've heard great feedback from the people who we have done. Or if you'd just like to donate to the podcast, apparently people like doing that as well. Get Pastor Devin needs some comfortable new shoes. So if you could uh help him out. I would love that. We'd also we also both love ripping uh cards. So if you want us to want us to rip some cards on the uh on the pod, we will rip them live on the pod. Star Wars or baseball, because baseball is coming around again. Football and basketball as well. Not just Star Wars and baseball. Or or Marvel or And you can follow us both on whatnot and watch our cards. You can buy our cards on our whatnot. Are you doing a stream tonight? I'm doing a stream tonight. I was gonna do it last night, but when we filmed this tonight when you watch this. Yeah, not tonight when you watch this, but yeah, I'm doing a March Madness basketball stream tonight. College and NBA, ladies and men's. I have some ladies. They got the ladies, college basketball cards. Yeah, well, because when you buy the Bowman College, it's men and women. That's pretty nice. So I have some nice uh women's cards too. So yeah, ripping whatnot tonight. Did you do it yesterday? No. Lazy. Lazy. I was watching TV. Star Wars. Pastor Devin's strictly Star Wars on the whatnot. I like to do the all the sports. I love Star Wars, man. It's my favorite. Yeah, we know. Okay. Well, we hope that you have an incredible day and week. Thanks so much to everyone involved. Yeah, prayers up for Matt. Hopefully, by the time you listen to this, he'll be better. Hopefully.
unknownBye.
SPEAKER_01No promises. Bye.
