Ep 22: Why Your Content Is Getting Likes But Not Clients (And How to Fix It)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You're posting consistently. The engagement is decent. People are liking, commenting, maybe even sharing. But nobody is booking calls. Nobody is enquiring. And you're starting to wonder whether organic marketing actually works — or whether everyone saying it does is quietly running ads behind the scenes.
In this episode, Vanessa breaks down why organic marketing absolutely works — just not the way most people are doing it. The problem isn't your content volume. It's the type of content you're creating.
Because there are two kinds of content: content that gets attention, and content that creates certainty. And only one of them builds a high ticket pipeline.
In this episode:
— Why likes and views are not the goal — and what to create instead
— The 3 types of content that build genuine certainty in your ideal client: authority, story and proof
— Why real conversation is the other half of the organic equation (and what "real" actually means)
— The 3-3-3 Daily Framework: a simple daily practice that builds a warmer pipeline than most people get from ad spend in a year
— Why depth and specificity will always outperform volume and virality
You don't need a big audience. You don't need an ads budget. You need the right content, real conversations, and consistency. This episode shows you exactly how.

SPEAKER_01Let me describe a scenario that I think will be painfully familiar to a lot of you. You've been creating content consistently, posting on Instagram, showing up on stories, writing all of your captions, and the engagement is kind of okay. People are liking, commenting, maybe even sharing, but they're not booking calls and they're not inquiring and they're not buying. And you're starting to wonder whether organic marketing actually works. Or whether everyone who tells you it does is kind of secretively running ads behind the scenes. Don't worry, I've been there, and I'm here to tell you organic marketing absolutely works. Just not the way that most people are doing it. Welcome to the High Ticket Portal Podcast. I'm Vanessa Carling, and today we're gonna talk about what organic marketing actually is, how you can make it to work, and how you can create a funnel of really warm, ready-to-buy clients without having to spend a single penny on any ads. And more importantly, without spending four like a million hours per week posting and making content that just is going nowhere. First, let's get clear on what organic marketing actually is. Because I think everyone talks about marketing and organic marketing that we kind of lose the essence of what it is. Organic marketing is building your audience and your pipeline through content and conversations, not through paid placement. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, podcasts, email, all organic. No ad spend, no boosted post, no influencer fees. Now here's the thing about organic marketing that no one talks about. It's a long-term relationship game. If you're looking for instant results, a post that goes viral tomorrow and floods your DM with buyers, that can happen. Believe me, it can. But building a reliable organic pipeline takes time, consistency, and most importantly, the right kind of content. And that's where most people get it wrong. Because here's the distinction that I think changes everything. There's two types of content in the organic marketing world. There's content that gets attention, and there's content that creates certainty. Most people are creating content for the first kind. They just want the attention. Trending audios, aesthetic carousels, and viral reels that get 5,000 views from people who end up never buying anything. And then they wonder why isn't my engagement converting into sales? The content that builds a high-ticket pipeline is the second kind. It's content that builds belief in you, in the transformation, and in the person watching it. Likes do not pay your mortgage. Certainty does build for certainty. So what does content that create certainty actually look like? Let me give you three types I come back to consistently. Type number one, authority content. This is where you teach something. Not vaguely, not broadly, but really specifically. You're being really precise in a way that makes the person consuming it think this lady knows what she's talking about. This might be a breakdown on how you approach sales calls, a framework that you use with your clients, a counterintuitive insight from your own business journey. Something that teaches something valuable, gives a lesson, and positions you as someone with real knowledge. The key to authority content is specificity. Vague advice builds no authority whatsoever. Work on your mindset tells nothing about you. Here's the exact belief that was blocking my clients from closing high-ticket sales and how we shifted it in one conversation. That example tells a lot. Did you hear the specificity in that? Okay, type two, stories. Telling stories is probably one of the most powerful tools that you can ever use to convert. And it's probably one of the most underused tools because people think that their story isn't enough. And let me be direct with you here. The story doesn't have to be dramatic, it just has to be real. Not, oh, I used to struggle and now I don't. That's every story on the internet. Listen to this. Here's the exact moment I realized I was leaving money on the table every single week. And here's what I changed about it. That's a story to lean in on. Story content builds connection and it builds trust and it builds a sense that you're a real person with actual experience. You're not a polished brand speaking from some pedestal. And connection is what makes someone go from follower to buyer. Type three, proof content. This is really important. Client results, transformation stories, testimonials that are really specific. Not just this coach is amazing, or before I was working with this coach, I was kind of struggling and now I'm not. Again, instead, you want specificity, real, tangible stuff. Because when someone is deciding on whether to work with you or not, they're not just buying your skills, they're buying evidence that it works. Now, the other half of the organic equation that no one talks about. Conversation moves them through it. And I mean real conversations, not just automated DMs, chatbot responses. I mean like actual real conversations, responding to people's comments genuinely, replying to people's DMs like you're a person, starting conversations with people who are engaging with your content, not to pitch them immediately, be a human being, to find out what they're working on, what their world is like, to offer them something useful, to build a relationship. The women that I know who consistently close high-ticket sales organically, they're all doing this. They treat their DMs like a relationship funnel, not a pitch deck. And the conversations that they're having there, they're really genuine. They're actually curious, and they're value-adding conversations. And this is the kind of conversation that moves someone from I kind of like her content to I want to work with her. Let me give you a really simple framework to make this practical. I call it the 3-3-3. Every day, not every week, every day, post one piece of content that does one of the three jobs: authority, story, or proof. Engage genuinely with three pieces of content from other people in your space and have three real conversations in your DMs. Not pitches. Not, oh, I need to talk to this person so I can close the sale now. Conversations. Just ask a question, follow up on something that they shared, celebrate something that they achieved, genuinely care about the person and just be a person. If you do this consistently for two months, you will have such a warm pipeline of people, more than what most people build with ads in a year. Because the people in your world, they will know you, they will trust you. You're not just a random ad. And when they're ready, they will come to you. That's organic marketing done right. It's not about volume, it's not about going viral. It's depth, being specific, and genuinely caring about another human being or several human beings.
