Waiting for the bank account to reflect the number in your head. Waiting for all of this to take place before you really allow yourself to walk through the world as a woman you know you're becoming. This is one of the most common, most quietly damaging patterns in high-achieving women. And it has an aim: proof-seeking. Welcome to the High Ticket Portal Podcast. I'm Vanessa Carling. And today I want to talk about one of the most important identity shifts you'll ever make. Not to perform as some other version of yourself, but how to become your true self before the proof. Here's how proof-seeking works: the mind says, give me evidence that this is real and then I'll believe it. Give me the results and then I'll act like someone who gets the results. Give me the success and then I'll walk like a successful woman. It sounds reasonable, but it's kind of backwards because results, income, impact, growth, relationships are all downstream from the identity. They are the expression of who you believe yourself to be, not the other way around. The woman who waits for proof before she can step into her identity is stuck in a loop. She's waiting for the results to give her the identity, but it needs to be flipped around. Let me make this a little bit more concrete. The next little version of you, the woman making the income you want, leading with the authority that you want, building the life that you want, makes different decisions than the current version. She responds differently to offers. She sets different prices. She says no to different things. She spends her time differently. And she holds herself in a different way. None of those decisions require any proof at all. They require an identity. An identity is not built by waiting. It's built by choosing. Choosing again and again and again to respond as the woman that you're becoming. And this is not about trashing who you are and trying to become someone who you're not. You're actually just revealing a deeper level of who you already truly are. And this is not about trashing and judging who you currently are and trying to become someone who you're not. It's actually more a process of letting go all of the lies and filters and negative beliefs about yourself that are not true. So that your true essence, who you really are, can begin to shine through. Here's a practical tool. Before your next significant decision, or the moment when you feel like shrinking, hesitating, and waiting, ask yourself if I fully love and accept myself, which decision would I make? And then do that. Not because you have evidence that you can do it, but because you can decide. And you'll feel that there's no pretending involved in that decision. It's not a fake it until you make it kind of thing. It's identity-led decision making. And it's a very powerful force that you can incorporate into your business. The identity shift I want to leave you with today is the flip around. You don't become this version of yourself by achieving more. You achieve more by becoming this version of yourself. This version of yourself doesn't ask for permission. She doesn't wait for proof. She doesn't wait for numbers to validate her worth or what she already knows about herself. She leads from a place of knowing who she really is and allows the world to rearrange itself around that. And all of this is available to you right now. Not next month when you have a big month, not next year when you've grown a bigger business, but right now.
