SPEAKER_02

Layton Kiffin hated his time at Ole Miss. The NFC wide open. Is it finally the Dallas Cowboys year? All that and more on the other side of the Red Zone Blitz.

SPEAKER_00

Here we go, here we go. The home for all things NFL in college football.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome back, fellas. How are you doing? Good. Great, man. Very nice, very nice uh recording with you fellas again. We are we are locked and loaded for season two. Episode one is now available. Uh, all you AFC fans, go listen to that for your AFC preview on all the teams, post-draft, post-free agency, all that lovely stuff. Aaron Rodgers is still not signed. Good sir.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I heard he's I don't even think he's in the facility. You know what we need to do? He said he's in Pittsburgh, but he's not actually at the facility. You know what we need to do? At least at step one, he's in Pittsburgh. He's he's getting there, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Our number one thing we need to do. What's that? Number one is we need to go and we need to book a tea time, the three of us. We need to go and do some golfing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Because apparently that's what Aaron Rodgers was in Pittsburgh for. He came all the way to Pittsburgh to golf.

SPEAKER_03

He went all the way to Pittsburgh to golf.

SPEAKER_02

Apparently. Apparently, that's what he was. The rumors are the California kid went to Pittsburgh. That's his that's the start of like signing a deal. That's how you they always just like, oh gotta stretch out the arms, make sure everything. I don't know what the hell's going on. I I really just I wonder who he was golfing with.

SPEAKER_03

I maybe it's like a Jerry Jones handshake deal he's doing with Art Rooney.

SPEAKER_02

It was Big Mike, big Mike on the link. Maybe Big Mike was Big Mike, he can't golf. Big Mike's chubbling down seven glizzies and hitting the ball into the lake and calling it a day. It's a bit it's a beautiful time. It's a beautiful time. Yeah, he was there, he has not signed. Uh that saga continues. I feel like that saga will uh will continue for the rest of our lives. I don't think we're getting rid of uh I don't think we're getting rid of the Aaron Rodgers uh debate and debacle anytime soon. Uh Diana Rossini seen kissing her husband uh as he moved in a office chair. Very nice. Happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, including Diana. Happy Mother's Day. Other news, uh Lane Kiffin, Elaine Kiffin coming out and saying, uh I felt uncomfortable being at Ole Miss due to their uh background because they're so racist and they haven't gotten rid of the Confederation flag or the Confederate flag, sorry. And uh they just was not right for me, he said. Man, what a save.

SPEAKER_03

What a what a that's a that's a that that matchup's gonna be something, but that's like an A plus move. And that game's in Ole Miss.

SPEAKER_02

That game's in Ole Miss.

SPEAKER_03

All the way back then.

SPEAKER_02

But that is like that's like an A plus move from a PR firm. Like that's a PR firm that made their money for Lane Kiff in there. Because now it's like he doesn't seem like the bad guy, and all these people are coming out and being like, Hey, yeah, I also had similar experiences with Ole Miss. Like, it is bad out there, and all this other stuff. So it'll be interesting to see. Once again, he returns home. Young Lane does. Um, they also had the blind side thing with Michael Orr.

SPEAKER_03

Of course, they're that school. There, they're prominent.

SPEAKER_02

Is that the thing that they're most known for? You think?

SPEAKER_03

Ole Miss. Maybe that and Eli Manning.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Probably that that that'll they'll tell you. That'll do. That'll do. As you guys probably know, I'll do the intro one more time in case you guys don't. I'm joined by my esteemed guests, co-hosts of the show, colleagues, uh, director of content engagement, love machine, KK. How how do you do? How's it going, everybody? Are you gonna hit my music or what? Okay, all right. He's getting for everybody got played.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and he's wanting to be single with the flight. But he just left it off like girl, that's KK, love machine.

SPEAKER_02

That's me, man. This is what he lives for. Yeah, I know I have the music for I forget. I forget sometimes. He can't go, he can't do the intro without the music. And uh, all the ladies in Pittsburgh probably wondering where he is. That is uh director of operations. We should have been blasting that down the street. We should have, we should have can next time. Next time we go, yeah, we can do that. How the 49ers enter with that big boom box, that outrageous one. We should just keep it like the 49ers?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like they before they like trip and injure their knee.

SPEAKER_02

Well, of course, with their electric the electrocuted uh practice field. That is Matt, director of operations. Matt, uh, how's it going over there? How's uh how's the weather? Matt Matt underwent some uh major, major um appearance changes before he went to Pittsburgh. He had ridiculous flow. Very ridiculous flow. And then he he cut it down. I think we gotta bring back the grease. We gotta bring back the flow. That flow that flow suits Pittsburgh, man. I know. That flow was Pittsburgh. It was very yinzer. It was very yinzer, fellas. I think we should dive right into it. We got uh the NFC slate. I gotta start with uh I gotta start with the guys here. Come on, let's start with the uh the NFC South. The good, the good, we'll save the best for last, KK. Don't you worry, we'll save the best for last. Uh, let's start with well, let's start with my man. I really want to go to Atlanta. Atlanta would be that would be fun. Some Magic City wings with the love machine. KK getting that, you know, that garlic butter. Getting just nice and greasy, having a good old time. That'd be a fun trip, yeah. Atlanta. It would be it would be a trip, I would tell you. It would be a good time. It will be a good time. Listen, Atlanta had no first round pick this year. Uh, shout out to the James Pierce. Man, I really hope for their sake that the guys they're not looking good for the man facing felony charges right now. It's not looking good. Uh, they got uh Kevin Stefanski in there, uh replacing Morris. There is not a whole lot to be excited for. Avion Terrell joins his brother, AJ. Uh Zekari and Branch stays home, five foot nine. You know, he's a young, short little guy, but he he can do his job. Uh, Kendall Daniels, they had drafted him in the fourth round. Now, Kevin Stefanski probably inherited here what is known as a messy situation. Uh, he didn't have a first-round pick. Uh franchise quarterback. Guess who's the backup now? It's Tua. We still don't know if Michael Penix is the guy who got recently married. Congratulations. You got the Pierce situation. Uh Bijan Robinson's there. Another Robinson they signed, Brian. He's there now. Now, the good thing about this division is it's wide open. That's what the Falcons have for them. This is a wide open, uh wide open division. Now, what do you guys give the Falcons here? Because Kevin Stefanski, some people said that you know, he was in Cleveland and the the management was so bad and all this other stuff, and he's a really good coach. What do you need to see from Atlanta? Is this a play? Do they ought to win the division this year? Like, is this a must-win this year for their division? Why or why not? That's gonna be tough with the new head coach. New head coach, uncertain at quarterback. It's also a coach that's defense focused. Yeah. Right? Like it's and um a shout out to the to the demon himself, Kyle Pitts. Um, hopefully he they start to utilize him. Yeah, they get going on that on that parade. They cannot afford to waste B. John Robinson. And they they they gotta use him a lot to start the season. I think that's what I like. You look at teams that do this, like Arizona just did it with Jeremiah Love, where they're not ready for him, like they're not ready for that running back piece, but they take one anyways. They gotta run through, they gotta run through Bijan. That's that's gotta be their answer answer. Who starts, Matt? Tua or Penix.

SPEAKER_03

I think you gotta give it a Penix because he was already there to begin with, but probably a short leash. I mean, we haven't seen much of the thing. Who starts game one and who finishes the season? I think Penny starts, Tua's probably gonna finish.

SPEAKER_02

And are these guys picking? Do you guys both think this is another team hunting for that quarterback next year in next year's draft?

SPEAKER_03

No, no, I don't think so. I think I think it's gonna be one of the two. They're gonna prove it at the again. This is a speaker division. You think they stick with uh one or the other for going into the future? Going into the future, really. I think they're gonna get interesting.

SPEAKER_02

I thought they would be like going after the Dante Moores and like trying to get in the sweepstakes of next year. No, that's interesting. That's just true.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I agree with with UKK on the Bijan, like they got to use him more, but they can't just be one-dimensional. I think that's why they got Zikarian branch, is because they want to bring more speed. But again, at the end of the year, we saw pits get used quite a bit.

SPEAKER_02

I think they started the season, though, they got to use Bijan because nobody on that team is like electric, but those early wins matter. Like, if you're in the hole oh and four, yeah, oh yeah, it's hard, it's hard to get you gotta win, and you gotta make you gotta get that. That place is bumping when they're good. Yeah, like if you can go 500 in the first four or five games, feeding Bijan and everyone getting used to each other.

SPEAKER_03

But they need Kyle Pitts to be the seventh overall pick caliber player he was, right? That's gonna help if he plays like he was at the end of the year, that's gonna help Penix or Tua or whoever. And then Drake London will flourish. There's a carrion branch, and then it's just easier on Bijon, right? Easier on the defense. Uh, they added Avion Terrell, too. I know you're a big fan of him.

SPEAKER_02

He is uh he is Atlanta Falcons football. Like he is you talk about uh punishing beast, you talk about a guy that's gonna make make rain the rain the pain. Avion Terrell's that guy brothers in the secondary, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

AJ and Avion.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's gonna be fun. I mean, it's gonna be fun for the uh for them. It's it's all about rebuilding that defense. I think until you haven't rebuilt that defense, you're in some trouble, especially with the way Kevin Stevansky coaches. I hope for the Falcons fans out there. I met some of them in Pittsburgh. I hope for their sake it gets done, it gets taken care of. We go into a uh we go into a raucous environment when the red zone blitz goes down to Atlanta. Fellas, moving on. Let's go down to Carolina. Carolina, I think this will be interesting. They they took Monroe Freeling, uh, pick number 19. I think everyone had them taken Kenyon Sadiq, but uh the Jets said nope. Uh then they took Lee Hunter, defensive tackle. So two big picks back to back, uh, both in the trenches. They traded up to take Lee Hunter. He can play nose, three tech, and four eye. He's versatile for any scheme. And then round three, they took Chris Brazzle, uh, the second from Tennessee. Uh, he's a speed element that Bryce Young needs in that offense. And then cornerback Will Lee from Texas AM. Listen, they're a quiet riser, I think, in the uh in the NFL. This is a second straight year that they're finishing in the top five of analytical draft grades that uh analysts have give have given out. They're drafting for who they want to be, which is a physical run first, multiple receivers team to help Bryce Young manage the game. They did lose Rico Dowdle, of course, to where they got Steelers. Yes, they did lose um Rico Dowdle to Pittsburgh. Um, Freeling is a potential franchise left tackle. Brazzle's speed, I think, is the biggest difference. Uh, what I like about uh the Panthers, the weapons. I think Tet McMillan is Tet McMillan is um is a big time weapon for them that he can do a lot. Um, you've got uh Xavier Leggett is still there. Um, they've got uh Coker who's still there. They are hurting a little at the tight end position. I'm sure they would have liked that to be uh a little bit more. But my question to you guys, are they the favorite? Yeah, because look who they just signed as a free agent on defense. Jalen Phillips, Devin Lloyd. Yeah, you got a young offense, and they got like a so a solid defense. Well, they improved by three wins each of Dave Canales' seasons that he's coached. I think you give Monroe Freeling, now you got more time for Bryce Young to cook.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it definitely does help. He's got a great football IQ. I think there's certain things about his game, like, yeah, he's got to work on like low pad level and his balance is a bit off. I don't think they're gonna be the top team in the South, though, just because off consistency. I don't think you see that enough from Young. And the Chris Brazzle, uh, the second pick, it's not bad. In my opinion, though, I I think he just gets phased out though in that wide receiver.

SPEAKER_02

A lot of dogs there.

SPEAKER_03

There's I think it's tough with McMillan and Laguette.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and Coker there, and they have the kid from um, they've got the kid from Colorado as well, there, uh horn. Yeah. Um, so it is tough. I've watched a lot of Carolina Panthers games last year, partly because I had uh Mr. Bryce Young as my quarterback. So I got to see a lot of them. They're a fun team to watch. Um, I think they have an exciting offense. Look for Chuba Hubbard to be fed the ball this year as a whole lot as the lead guy there. It'll be interesting. I really like the way they developed Bryce Young, whereas they took him early and he sat behind Andy Dalton. Yeah, and they had a plan for him, and they were they didn't waver off the plan. And I think that's the most number one thing that teams right now struggle with is they waver off the plan too quick with their young quarterbacks. So kudos to them. I like what they've done with the draft. Do you think they're favorites to win this division? They did last year. Um, I'll save my I'll save mine until the end. I'll save mine until the end. I do think they're up there. They're up there, yeah. I think they should they should take everything about this team's history has shown that they take steps forward. Do they hit a plateau this season? Who knows? I mean, does the success of the season mean that guys like Bryce Young don't train as hard or uh Tet McMillan doesn't take it as seriously this year? That there's gonna be your difference. I think the leaders of your team have to treat this offseason to get better, like not be satisfied with just getting pumped out by the Rams in the first game. So I think that's kind of where I where I see Carolina. Moving on, fellas, the New Orleans Saints. They were busy. They were busy in the draft. They took Jordan Tyson, uh, wide receiver, number eight overall. Um, I think you saw how emotional he got when he was getting picked, um, especially his walk-up to the draft podium. That was incredibly emotional. Uh, Christian Miller from Georgia, defensive tackle was their second round pick. Uh, big nose tackle. And then you had Oscar Delp, the tight end. He'll be good. He was underused at Georgia, but he should thrive in this um Kellen Moore system. And then Bryce Lance, uh wide receiver from North Dakota State, 6'3, who ran a 4.3440, 17 touchdowns in 2024. Sneaky, good late round value. This is the team that picked their quarterback early before the draft. They said their guy was Tyler Shuck. Jordan Tyson was a big splash pick. You're adding in him. There is injury risk there. Chris Olave has gone through some of his stuff with injuries as well. Travis E. Teen coming into the fold. Now, how many wins are you guys giving the New Orleans Saints revitalized team? And do you think Shuck is the answer? Or are they another team that's gonna be eyeing one of those quarterbacks next year? I'd probably give them about six wins. Okay, yeah. All right. I think Tyler Shuck's gonna stick around, but uh every team's gonna be looking at it. Is there gonna quarterback in the next draft that I can take up? Depending on how they finish, right? I think they're gonna be an interesting team to watch in terms of you talked about it with Atlanta starting 0-4. A real nice, nice storyline in next year's draft. A real nice one that starts with the last name Manning. That's where his granddaddy played. Yeah, that's where the granddaddy ties are. That's true. If they start off slow, look to them to potentially get into that, potentially get into that market where they take Arch Manning. Like they try to go and they try to go get their quarterback. You think they're gonna tank for Arch? Possible. I I don't think they'll have to tank. I don't think they'll have to tank. I know.

SPEAKER_03

I don't I don't think they'll have to tank.

SPEAKER_02

I don't believe too much in this roster. I'm not a big Tyler Shuck guy. I'll I'll go out and say it. I think Chris Olave spends a lot of time injured, and they drafted another wide receiver who spends who spent a lot of time injured. Yeah, I'm not a huge fan. Sorry, New Orleans might be there soon. Hey, we might be in the city, so maybe you could change my mind. I'm not a big fan.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I agree with that. That's what I was gonna say. Um, there's too many questions with injuries with them. Like, it's good they got Tyson, he's a great player, and we saw at Arizona State what he could be when he's healthy, but like they're trying to build around Shuck, and I like that. And they got Etienne that's great. Kamara sticking around too, that really helps the cause. But I just really I don't see it. The defense isn't really there, and you know, division-wise, they they've kind of lost it over a couple years, and then now they're getting uh I believe it's Dable as offensive coordinator. No, he's in Tennessee. Oh, is he okay? Yeah, no, Callum Moore calls the plays there. Oh, okay. I mean, he's not bad too, but I just think Shuck's probably gonna be out the door after this season. I hate to say it because I think he was promising, but I mean he should be out the door if they can't compete in that division. Yeah, and that's the thing, right? Like top team Carolina had eight wins.

SPEAKER_02

So if you have six and you finish last, that's the OC in uh in the Saints is good old uh your boy, Doug Nusmeyer. Oh, yeah. Garrett's dad. Yeah, no, I think I think they'll be interesting. I do think that um it'll be interesting to see what they what they pull out of pull out of their hat. I listen, I really I do like this. I have a little soft corner for the New Orleans Saints ever since uh Hurricane Katrina and they're them battling back. Um, so I do hope they find a way to turn this thing around. Will they be able to turn turn it around this year? I think it's a real uphill battle. I don't think this year is the year. I think it's a long road ahead for dominance again, and they got to take it one one draft year at a time. All right, fellas. The good old Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their big splash, and boy, what a splash! Ruben Bain Jr. picking him number 15 overall, round one. Joseah Trotter, Missouri linebacker, round two, Ted Hurst, Georgia State wide receiver, round three, Keontae Scott, round four. I think Ruben Bain is the X Factor. You see Mike Evans leave this team, Levante David retired. The biggest question mark I have on this team is health. They need their players to be healthy and they need their guys to go. Godwin needs to be healthy. Ruben Bain Jr. I think is a smash shit. Now, is this how many more years do we have of Tampa Bay before we start to close the window on him? Because I love Baker's story. I love the fact that he was able to revive his career and he's able to keep going and he's tracking him on. But how many more years can they keep going with this same kind of roster and not have not see kind of that success? And what do they need to break through to go to a Super Bowl with someone other than Tom Brady? I think they need to stay healthy, but I think this is this is it for Baker. Oh, like he's he's got like one season to get back into the playoffs. It was disappointing last year with him. Very, very upsetting. You were disappointing for him last year. He should have won that division. What do you think is the the biggest thing that well aside from health, what do you think is the biggest thing that holds back Tampa Bay this year if they're not able to get it done? I think maybe um decision making, like you said, they had some questionable coaching decisions near the end of the season.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they kind of they just lost the division after the last couple games, and then Baker was ended up throwing picks. Yeah, which we know like. Back from his Cleveland days, he's cap you like he's good for a pick. He's done it. Yeah. Yeah. But I don't think personally, I don't think the Mike Evans loss is a big deal because the receiver room is looking good. McMillan, Eggbuka, Godwin, they're looking good. Bucky Irving, he's gonna get back healthy. The only thing Evans brings brought to the table, I think, was leadership. And I think that's what they need to look at with Baker Mayfield. This is his team. I think they're the team to beat in the South.

SPEAKER_02

They're gonna miss Mike Evans. They're gonna miss the target, I don't think reliable receiver. I think he was just so clutch. And I don't know if I can put any other receiver on. They also signed Kenneth Gaywell, which is a really good signing. Yeah, that's that was a sneaky little sign in they had. That was a solid signing. Yeah. I don't know if I trust Chris Godwin. The same way I don't trust Buka because they're both guys that like have these weeks of brilliance and then they disappear. And they have these weeks of brilliance and they disappear. Whereas like Mike Evans consistently does his thing, and like I don't know what's gonna happen to him in San Francisco. Man might destroy every bone in his body playing on that team. Yeah, but he's a very consistent performer, and it takes a time, it takes some time, man. Like I even remember when like Amari Cooper left the Cowboys, it took a while for uh for Dak Prescott to get on the same page with his other receivers because Amari Cooper was so reliable. So it'll be interesting to see. Interesting to see what they have. Overall, I did like their draft. I think Ruben Bain Jr. alone pushes them into a positive draft grade. So I did like their draft. Fellas, and when it comes to this division, who's the winner? You want to start or you want me to start? Uh sure. Start. Go ahead. I'm gonna go with Carolina. I like their young offense, Bryce Young. I love their defensive signings. Yeah, they won the division last year. I don't see why they can't do that again. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Carolina Panthers. I got the Buccaneers. I think adding Ruben Bain is huge, and they got Alex Anzelone, your boy from Detroit, on the other side of the ball. Vita Vea in the middle. I think it bolstered up the defense. They're gonna be better at stopping the run. Baker will figure it out. I got the Bucs winning.

SPEAKER_02

Alright. Alright. Alright. Well, you guys know how I feel about uh how I feel about this certain guy. Um, you know how much I love him. You know how much I love that city. I've never been there. I've just heard great things. Great things, great things about the the chicken wings, great things about uh but not the football team, the baddies, great things about the raucous atmosphere. Uh some would say the peach state.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

I'm you know what I'm gonna go with uh I'm gonna go with Atlanta. I think Atlanta, uh where there's a will, there's a way, and maybe Kevin Stefansky coaches himself into coach of the year, and and we see Tua's resurgence in in Atlanta. What a life Tua's lived. So you think Tua's gonna take over? Yeah, I think I think it's Tua. I think Tua's the guy there. I I don't nothing about Michael Penix screams to me leader. Yeah. Where it's like, I think Tua's seen this rodeo before, and he's been around the league for a while now. He's played some high-stakes games where he I think he can do it. But what a flub that Michael Penix pick was. It reminds me of the Minnesota Vikings, and we'll get to them and their JJ McCarthy pick, but what a flub that was. If this is the if Tua ends up out playing you for your starting job, I think it's time to pack it in, buddy. I think it's over. I think it's done deal. Who's the best quarterback in this in the division?

SPEAKER_03

I gotta go with Baker. I think it's hard not to go with Baker.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I gotta I go with Baker too for now. But Bryce Young is up and coming. I'll I'll go with Bryce Young. I'll give my boy some love.

SPEAKER_03

The thing is with that, it's like how many games they've played, right? We've seen so much of Baker. We haven't seen much of it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I'll go with Bryce. He led a lot of he led a lot of comebacks late in the fourth quarter. Um, I like what he saw. I like what I saw from uh I like what I saw from the man. Uh let's go NFC West, fellas. Uh let's start off with the uh the love machine handling Arizona Cardinals. Um, obviously Kyler Murray leaving. Massive loss. I don't know, but Cardinals took uh three three notable picks they had for me were Jeremiah Love, number three, special, number uh round two, pick 34, Chase Bizontis from Texas AM. Getting that O-line secure, getting that O-line some help. And what an interesting one. Carson Beck, round three. They also went and they added um Tyler Algier in the offseason. Jacoby Brissett still doesn't have a deal. Uh, we don't know if uh the man will be playing football or not. With the Carson Beck pick, do you start him right away?

SPEAKER_03

So the funny thing with uh Carson Beckpick is that when I walked out of the draft that night, I was getting a beer outside the stadium, and I saw this Cardinals fan. He just had a Cardinals t-shirt on and he was holding his beer, and I guess he was waiting for his buddy who's grabbing some fried chicken or whatever. And he's sitting there and he just looks like so depressed. He looks like like his wife like spent millions of dollars on just crap. I'll do that, and she's gonna hoard it and bring it home. And that's what it happened with the Carson Beck pick. And I asked him, and I was like, How do you feel about your draft, brother? And he's like, Don't even start with me. Don't even start with me. Carson Beck. Like, what are we thinking? What are they thinking? Out of all the excited, like, I got Jeremiah Love. I'm good. He didn't that's all that's all I wanted. He honestly didn't even like that pick. Wow, he didn't like it because he thinks that, and I can agree with him a little bit, he thinks that they can't utilize him in the offense and utilize his skill right now. They don't feel like they they should have traded down and had more recoup some assets and then got him more picks.

SPEAKER_02

If you look at it from the perspective of like last year, it looks really bad. Like if you look at last year and you look at it how last year went, it don't look too hot. No, it don't look too good. Now, if you look at it from a perspective of you have Trey McBride, tight end check, you have Marvin Harrison, wide receiver, check, you have they have another wide receiver there, too. What's his name? Michael Wilson, Michael Wilson, Michael Wilson, wide receiver two, check. You have running back one, check, running back two, check, running back three, check, and James Connor. And you got a Guardian Chiefs Bizontis. Your offensive line, you added a piece, check. Everything else on the offensive line is a little bit scary, but you add okay, check there. You have Walter Nolan on defense, check. Uh, you have Buda Baker still, check.

SPEAKER_03

Well, they added Kendrick Bourne, too.

SPEAKER_02

You added Kendrick Bourne, wide receiver, check. It's not the worst thing for them to spend a pick on a quarterback. Because what if Carson Beckett is good?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, the problem is is that quarterback. Well, that's the thing. I don't think that was the quarterback they're showing.

SPEAKER_02

But but you look at the other teams like division, there's no way Arizona is gonna beat those three. They're not getting there, anyways. But I think give them a few years to be. But I think if your Carson, like you take a gamble on Carson Beckett, maybe they they really liked some film that we didn't see. And listen, Beck was in Georgia, and then he went to Miami and they went to the national championship. Mind you, a lot of that was their defense. Yeah, still went to the national championship. Malay Malachi Tony will be probably missing Carson Beck this year. My point is like if they hit on Carson Beck and it's a gamble, gamble pays off. Now they don't need to go draft a quarterback next year. Now they can go take best player available next year, where every other team's probably hunting for a quarterback. So I get the gamble. I also think this Jacoby Brissett situation is a lot more serious than people are leading on. And I think this is a great leverage play into being to Jacoby Brissett being like, Oh, you don't like your contract? You think you're our only option here? You think we won't play Gardner Minshew or whoever the core backup is? Ah, guess wrong. Carson, get in there. But I think Carson Beck should start game one. I think it's a waste of a pick, it's a waste of time to have him sitting on the bench developing. No point in what you know.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, look how old he is. Yeah, he's been he's been in college football for you don't need to see any development. There's no development needed with Carson Beck.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if he's not ready to go on day one, he's not ready to go day one after a whole training camp after preseason. He's he better be thrown into the wolves. Worst case scenario, like, and maybe this is best case, depending on which Cardinals fan you talk to. He leads you to a tank and you get Arch Manning, or you get Dante Moore, and you get your next quarterback, and now you got your quarterback of the future. But to have him sitting on the bench is a waste of time. There's no need to have him sitting on the bench at all. Uh, but they got a new coach in there as well. So it'll be interesting to see. They got a new coach, they got a new system. It'll be uh it'll be interesting to see what they do. But once again, like you said, KK, that division, it's nowhere to go. But stay down, stay down, wait for the wait for the big dogs to battle it out, kill each other, and maybe you make your way in there. Now, moving on to the good old Los Angeles Rams, who did some crazy stuff. So uh round one was going about uh how everyone thought it was gonna go, and then the Rams decided to take Ty Simpson. Uh pick number 13, then pick number 61, round two, they took Max Clare out of Ohio State, and then they took Keegan Trost, Missouri, out of Missouri, the offensive tackle uh in round three. Uh, they already kind of did their big move by trading for Trent McDuffie. Um now, fellas not getting help for Puka Nakua and Matthew Stafford, and instead taking Ty Simpson. Go ahead, fellas. What are our thoughts? What are our thoughts about a the draft pick? Would you have done the same thing? I like that draft pick for them. They took a big risk, but they already got an offense, they got McDuffie on defense, almost made the Super Bowl, but that's exactly it. Why not take a shot at a quarterback?

SPEAKER_03

But they almost made the Super Bowl. But that's the thing, they almost made the Super Bowl. So why wouldn't you get a piece on defense or maybe on offense? Like the long time. But they added Trent McDuffie on defense. Okay, but with the 13th pick, how many guys were on the board that they could have gotten that were defensive players? It was defensive heavy draft, they could have gotten offensive line even.

SPEAKER_02

They got a wide receiver as well, like Mike High Lemon could have gone to them. I listen, I don't feel like they're probably thinking, okay, Stafford is done in say two years. They already have a quarterback that'll be but now teaching right now, but now this draft, this quarterback at 13. I mean, they might have done their homework and know something we don't.

SPEAKER_03

I think at 13, that's a waste.

SPEAKER_02

I think you wasted a year of uh Matthew Stafford and this team. You have Puka Nakua bouncing off the walls. You probably have a good two years of Puka before he absolutely CTs himself off a cliff and never plays football again. So you really have a shorter window than people are thinking. And if Sean McVeigh's post-draft behavior, comments, attitude, or any indication, I think McVeigh might be done.

SPEAKER_03

It was a less need pick. Of course, because he had a rapport.

SPEAKER_02

It's Nepo baby's baby. Exactly. Yeah, it's the Nepo baby nepotism had its fine. I think they wasted, they wasted this year, and I think that the problem is if they wanted Ty Simpson, they could have taken Ty Simpson late. They could have they could have they could have traded back. Yeah, exactly. And they could have got all these assets, then they could have traded back again and then could have got him. And it wouldn't have been a distraction. The problem is if Stafford gets injured this year and Ty Simpson rolls out there and he sucks, or if let's say he Ty Simpson doesn't even play a game, but the Rams are playing the Seahawks NFC championship game. Nope, sorry, Rams are playing the Cowboys NFC Championship game. Big hit from Caleb Downs on Puka Nakua. Oh my god, Puka's hurt. Oh no, and then what do they oh Devontae Adams, he's old and he's hurt too. And now who could they have used? They could have used a wide receiver. Mike Hyle Levin, Omar Cooper, nobody, there's nobody there. It's it's a risky pick, but if you look at if he ends up being the starting quarterback in two years, that was a home run pick.

SPEAKER_03

There's also a ton of pressure on him, though. There is because you have Sean McVeigh, who is one of the best coaches in football. Who hates you?

SPEAKER_02

But okay, well, for now, Sean McVeigh, who like absolutely hates the fact that you're here. Like, could you imagine doing this podcast? You sat down on the chair and you knew I hated the fact that you sat down on this chair, but we had to do this podcast. It would be an uncomfortable podcast.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean, probably wouldn't be here then.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but like how how uncomfortable do you think it's probably is in that room with all those guys, 53 of them, and then you got like offensive linemen that have like broken their back to protect Stafford. Yeah, all they wanted was another weapon, either for the line or for or a wide receiver, and they just look at you, they're like, This is who we got? It's hard, man. It's hard.

SPEAKER_03

That's tough. But like I said, for Simpson, though, like his success is gonna be it's gonna be all on him. Okay if if he can't produce, you know, you have McVeigh, great coach Stafford, you have all these weapons on offense, you have a great team. So if you step in when Stafford leaves and you play like dog shit, they're gonna look at you and be like, Oh, yeah, no one blame but yourself. Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, it is you could not be at a more perfect situation if you're a quarterback. Like you're this was the situation. You get to learn from Matthew Stafford, you get to be coached by Sean McVay, and you got to live in LA. Fucking right. Yeah, what a what a what a ticket that possibly win a Super Bowl as a backup and then have a ring. You could have a ring and never do anything else. You just hey, here's my ring. Uh, fellas, moving on. Um, down to uh or up, I guess, north to San Francisco. We have the 49ers uh who traded down four times. Speaking about a team that likes to trade down, they drafted Deson Stribling with their first second round pick. That is a reach. There's not a lot of people in San Francisco that play wide receiver anymore. Uh Juwan Jennings is gone, and Brandon Ayuk is no longer interested. So you really have Ricky Purcell, the guy that got shot, and you have Design Stribling. So nice one, too. Uh, they did draft Romelo Height out of Texas Tech, the edge. Kalen Black, the running back out of uh Indiana, round three, pick 90. Uh, defensive tackle, Grayson Halton out of Oklahoma. Now, the 49ers are in a contending window. Oh, sorry, I did forget they did add Mike Evans.

unknown

Sorry.

SPEAKER_02

And Christian Kirk. And Christian Kirk. Not so now look at their receiving group. That's still not still does not paint the picture. It's better than last year. Wow. In my opinion, it's better than last year. If Mike Evans stays healthy, you got another thousand-yard receiver in the group. Yeah, that is true. I just, I don't think, I don't know. I don't know if um I think they're losing Robert Saul. That'll be a big one. And I think this is it for Kyle Shanahan. I think this is it for Brock Purdy. And it can't be another guy. He's signed the big new deal. It can't be.

SPEAKER_03

They're stuck with him. Yeah, who cares? Tua signed a big deal.

SPEAKER_02

Guess who their uh defensive coordinators now? Matt Deber Fluze. Oh. Isn't no, he's not the coordinator. Isn't he like a assistant? I thought he's a defensive coordinator. He's like an assistant to the or an advisor. Well, he's there. Well, then fuck. It's over. San Francisco, you're not winning shit. Good luck, buddy. Seen this movie before. Here it is. Dover. It's done. It's just you're cooked. I thought it was Raheem Morris. I could be wrong. I could be wrong. I could do a quick Google. What am I doing? Uh 49ers defensive coordinator is uh Raheem Morris. So Matt Ibrahou's an advisor. Yeah, yeah. He's in there doing something. He's like a in a little advisor. Then Raheem Morris, not bad. Not bad. No, Raheem Morris better than Matt. He's yeah, Matt Iriflus is the assistant head coach of defense. Oh, geez. Jeez Louise. Oh, God. Just a thief of joy. A thief of joy, this guy, Matt. Yeah, I I listen. I don't really have much about the 49ers other than the fact that their practice facility is in a absolute horrible spot. There's probably moves out. But I do think they have an aging core. Like you look at Kittle, you look at Warner, you look at Purdy. Like this is probably their last run for uh for their Super Bowl. It'll be interesting to see if they can get there. I'm not sure if within this division they have all the big group to do.

SPEAKER_03

They were right there a year ago. Problem I got with the 49ers though is we see this every year. They get so close to the big game, but then when they rely on like clutch play from their quarterback, whether it's Jimmy Garoppolo or Brock Purdy, they blow it. That's why I don't have trust in Purdy. You can have all these weapons and Evans and Kirk and the guys on defense, but I just don't trust Purdy enough. Yep. No, that's fair. That's fair. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I think a lot of people hasn't shown me the clutch gene. System quarterback. Hello, how are you? Moving it along, fellow Super Bowl champs, Seattle Seahawks. Can't go much higher than being winning the Super Bowl. All the pressure's gonna be on them. Uh, they can go higher by winning again. Oh, there he is. Oh, I mean, they got rid of uh they got rid of Kenneth Walker. That was uh that was a big miss on the in the offseason. Like that's obviously gonna be someone they miss on their team. Um, Zach Charbonnet is uh gonna be going through some surgery, rehab, all that lovely stuff. Oh, the 12th man took Jadarian Price, running back out of Notre Dame. That's a good pick. I think they'll they'll like that pick in in Seattle. Uh, then they took Bud Clark, who is one of my favorite picks in the draft. I think they're gonna be he's gonna be scary in that defense, man. That is the talk about the rich getting richer. Bud Clark in that defense is gonna be scary. And then they took Julian Neal from Arkansas, round three. Um, CB cornerback depth is obviously needed after uh free agent losses. Listen, fellas, I don't I don't ever have anything bad to say about John Schneider. I think he is a genius, I think he is the guy. My only question with them is do you think they've done enough that they can repeat in the offseason?

SPEAKER_03

I I could see it. I I mean they didn't I can see it as well, yeah. They lost Walker, they replaced him with Price.

SPEAKER_02

They also got Emmanuel Wilson coming in there.

SPEAKER_03

Oh running back from Green Bay, right? The backup. Yeah, he's actually he's pretty good. But they they lost Walker, they got Price. That he caught a if he didn't play at Notre Dame, he probably could have started at another school where he was that good. They got Shahid and JSN. Yeah, they lost uh Kobe Bryant on defense, they got Bud Clark. It's like it's a replenishing way, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And they and they do a really like they do a really good job drafting.

SPEAKER_03

They do, yeah. For what they have, like they didn't have a lot of picks this year, I think, but you know, they picked well. I think they're a pretty complete team. Like you look at them, they're they're built off defense, and their offense was explosive during the playoffs, so you know, uh, there's not really, yeah, like you said, we there's nothing really to pick at where you're like they need to improve on this because they're they're such a good team.

SPEAKER_02

Or they just replaced what they pretty much lost.

SPEAKER_03

The only thing is, I think it's iffy about Walker. Like, are they gonna is the offense gonna be like more heavily focused on JSN and Shahid, where Darnold maybe struggles and that he can't trust his run game?

SPEAKER_02

You're gonna I think I think there's three bags Charbonnet Wilson and Price. I think they're gonna I think they got a solid running game. I'm let's hope so. I think it's gonna be a three-headed monster. I think there's times last year where Zach Charbonnet was taking over the game from from Kenneth Walker throughout the regular season, and you saw they they forcefully gave it back to Walker to maintain the the 50 50 split. But yeah, I I I can see I think I think their offense got better besides losing their offensive coordinator. But I think their defense probably has to like make some back end.

SPEAKER_03

That could be a problem too, though, because look at Detroit had the same thing, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Like how much of their offense was Clank Kubiak running the plays he was running? And how much is it like the I think everything goes they they they had the best defense last year by the time Seattle wins Seattle Seahawks fans? Listen to me. You guys do not win because of your offense. I love JSN. JSN is my favorite. Great guy. But we talked about Sam Darnold did his job. Sam Darnold just needs to do his job, play average, play up to the bar. And Seahawks, if you guys have a killer defense like you guys did when they won in the Legion of Boom, and you have one now, you'll find a way. You'll find a way to get back into the dance. Now, fellas, give me your um give me your your number one team. Who do you have winning? I'll start with uh start with Matt.

SPEAKER_03

Uh see. Might be a bit of a shocker. I'm gonna go I'm gonna go with the Rams. I think they were so close last year and they lost like a close game to the Seahawks. But I think really they were right there. I think Stafford coming off the MVP season and Puka Nakua, as long as he can get his shit together, I think it'll be fine. I just think uh Yeah, like Sean McVeigh is gonna have a chip on his shoulder and he's gonna show that division uh who the top dog is.

SPEAKER_02

Nice, nice.

SPEAKER_03

Who you take in?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, uh I think Seahawks. I think I think Super Bowl champs are gonna are gonna win. Also, guys, if you have not listened to our last episode, we can't if one team is mentioned, the other team cannot be mentioned. So KK now. So I can't pick the Seahawks other round. KK is now gonna send Arizona. KK's gonna send Jeremiah Love. KK's about to send Jeremiah Love. I knew this is gonna happen. You can pick Arizona because I knew this is gonna happen, but I'm gonna take the 49ers. I think that offense adding Evans, Christian Kirk, next receiving group. You got McCaffrey there, a healthier McCaffrey. I mean, all three of those teams. I think their offense is gonna be lethal this week. I was really waiting for you to take Jeremiah Love. I was very excited. Jeremiah Love ain't gonna winning a Super Bowl as well. Which team do you think is gonna win the division? Jeremiah Love. I shouldn't have said that. Not the team, just Jeremiah Love. I think that's why the 49ers are gonna be in there. You know those guys that are wearing those jerseys, like the new trend of guys wearing jerseys, but it's the name on the front, like they're wearing the back of the code dumb.

SPEAKER_03

I hate that.

SPEAKER_02

KK walking around the street in a Jeremiah Love jersey, just rocking the love on the front. Doesn't give a fuck about the Cardinals logo, but that's the case. No, the the Cardinals logo is a New York logo. Oh, jeez. With love on the back. Oh, geez. Oh, geez, Louise. Now we're going into KK's division. KK's hood, the uh good old uh NFC North, fellas. Let's start with Chicago, Dylan Thenham. That's a steal for steal of a pick. I picked 25 in the first round where they got him. They got center Logan Jones out of Iowa. Man, that's gonna be good. That's gonna be good. Um helping out the helping out Caleb. Uh Sam Roosh out of Stanford. Uh they add they run the most toll personnel um in the league. So adding another tight end for uh Ben Johnson system makes sense there. And then Xavion Thomas, LSU. Uh that's a reach, I think. He was uh 213th ranked in the consensus rankings. They took him at 89. Guys, I think one of the most exciting teams in the NFL. They were a big surprise last year, a huge surprise last year. Do you think they have done enough from two things? Year two under Ben Johnson, correct? I believe year two.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um, number one, do you think they have done enough to compound on the success from last year? And number two, what do you need to see from Caleb Williams this year that you didn't see last year? He needs to play a full four quarters and stop these comebacks. He led the league in comebacks last year. Didn't you like those fourth quarters? Fourth quarter comeback.

SPEAKER_03

They were nice, but he's got to play a full game. You you want him to play a full game because you're gonna pick him in fantasy football, right?

SPEAKER_02

I have him. He's my keeper. He's a keeper.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe I'm a lines guy, but I have not chosen to keep him to improve. He needs to play a full game over and over again.

SPEAKER_03

He is the iceman, he is the iceman. He does, he does. I think I think what's great what they did in the draft was the Thieneman pick. They lost Brisker to the Steelers, and they get him and Kobe Bryant on the other side, and then that offensive lineman they got Logan Jones. Just watch the clip. He just plants people in the ground, finishes his ta uh his blocks. But I think you know, if they run the ball with Swift, maybe it'll help Williams. They got to utilize him more. And yeah, I mean, I agree with you on that one. They need to. I would like to see him maybe be quicker on his reads. I think there's sometimes he held on to the ball too long and he scrambled around, and then like we saw in that last play. That was so magical about him, right? Yeah, that magic. But you remember that last play that he's like scrambled the ball, chucked it up and they caught it. That's not gonna fly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you can't. That's not sustainable football here. No, I listen. I do I think he's great. I also think he fucking hurls the football at his receivers. He's got a lot of drops because his receivers don't catch the ball. Those poor guys are getting the ball whipped at him. Let's maybe leave, you know, just maybe let's take a little breath. Let's go slowly, slowly but surely, and like make the pass more catchable. Make it so better game management, better game management, more like, and those things will come. I think last year, Caleb Williams, you know, he spent a lot of time proving to people in the league and the baddies on the baddies on Instagram that he was the guy, and he wanted to make sure that he and you know, he had a little bit of that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_02

And I think Ben Johnson was tough on him early on, basically being like, You I'm gonna I've gotta dumb down the system for Caleb Williams. And I think he took that personally. And I think this year they've got that rapport. I think they're gonna build on their success from last year. I I I have no complaints about what they did. I think getting rid of DJ Moore was a fantastic idea, and uh, you get to see a little bit more out of Luther Burden this year. I think that would be nice. Yeah, get to give the people what they want. Now, moving on, moving on to uh the good old Vikings. I think the Vikings had a really good free agency. Um, but they had a terrible draft, to put it lightly.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I would agree with that.

SPEAKER_02

I think their free agency wasn't bad. I think the Kyler Murray $1.3 million dollar cap hit deal is crazy value. And if he can work and Kevin O'Connell can get him right, Kevin O'Connell's been able to get Daniel Jones and Sam Darnold right. Listen, fantastic. I think you do it right there. Now, Caleb Banks, defensive tackle from Florida, and I know Brian Flores wanted him badly. The man's injury history is not good. It is everything about this is not good. And you know what? I hope for Vikings fans, we're gonna get one on the podcast soon. His name's Rick. We're gonna get Rick on the podcast, big Vikings fan. They gotta hope that Caleb Banks goes to the school of Aaron Rodgers, ayahuasca, and is rehabbing this thing and rehabbing his foot like no tomorrow. Because man, does he have an injury history? Brian Flores then picked 51, round two. He got his guy Jake Golday out of Cincinnati linebacker, that's a perfect scheme fit for him. And then they double down on defensive tackle in round three. Dominique Orange from Iowa State. Big Citrus. Big Citrus is right, and then Jacoby Thomas from Miami Safety, round three. So Flores had himself a great draft. All defense. And I think there is a reason why Brian Flores is still on the Vikings. Can you guys tell now why he didn't go somewhere else to coach? Or he didn't go somewhere else for a defensive coordinator job? I think he go went up to their owner and GM and was like, if I'm gonna stay, I want to be able to I want say in the draft. Yeah, give me the reins. Yeah, I want say in which players we get. I don't want to get the the second, whatever, second comings of defensive tackle or whatever. I want to go get my guys. So you saw a lot of that. Now, this is the same organization that drafted JJ McCarthy.

SPEAKER_03

Nine. Did you see the clip also when he was asked about the top receivers?

SPEAKER_02

No, go please enlighten us.

SPEAKER_03

They sat JJ McCarthy down. I don't know who it was, if it was Kay Adams or some female reporter, and they asked me. Yeah, K Adams. Yeah, we love you. And we and he asked him, like, uh, what are your what are your top five receivers or something? And he left Justin Jefferson out. He named all these receivers and let and he left Justin Jefferson out completely. Like he didn't say who are who are the top okay, you go, who's your top five receivers? Like he had named Jamar Chase one.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, without an order, let's just say five.

SPEAKER_03

Go first Jefferson.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Jason. Okay. Amanra. Okay. One more. Hookah.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, Hugo. Chase, Jefferson, Hookah, CD. Um.

SPEAKER_02

I think I'll go Chase. Jefferson. CeeDee Lamb. Uh how many was that? Three? Four? Four. Four. Oh, I'll go Pickens. There. Five. I still said Jefferson. What kind of stupidity is he on?

SPEAKER_03

I have no idea. What kind of drugs is he taking? This is also the same team that drafted two nose tackles in first three rounds. Since he didn't say Jefferson, is Jefferson like, fuck you, I'm leaving now? I think he might be out the door pretty soon. If they're losing, I can see that happening.

SPEAKER_02

Between the Avalanche absolutely curb stomping the Minnesota Wild and their starting quarterback. Well, he's not their starting quarterback, Kyle Mary. I fucking hate when guys do this. I hate when guys have a slam dunk or a home run right there, and they do this stupidity. Micah Parsons did this too. I remember when Micah Parsons got on his podcast and started naming off the quarterbacks and said, oh, and he never mentioned Dak. But JJ McCarthy should have just mentioned all his receivers. And the Dak thing. All the Vikings receivers. The Dak thing, I can even still, the Dak thing, I can even still be like, fine. Somebody out there might not have Dak as top five. Everybody that watches this sport has Justin Jefferson in the top five.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

Every single one.

SPEAKER_03

You know, I love him for saying it, but apparently he had DK Metcalf in that list.

SPEAKER_02

He's on crack.

SPEAKER_03

Somebody, man, come on. Like you see Jefferson every freaking day in practice.

SPEAKER_02

Somebody put fentanyl in his fucking Gatorade. He's on fucking crack. I swear to God. Maybe he's on his way to Pittsburgh. McCarthy's a year's starting quarterback.

SPEAKER_03

We already have one McCarthy. I don't need another one. Maybe he wants to go there and join him.

SPEAKER_02

An absolutely, an absolutely horrible, horrible, horrible look for a guy that is going to be without a starting gig in about like three months. Yeah, I see. I see Kyler Murray's. Kyler Murray's gonna succeed in in Minnesota. He's gonna be great. I think he's gonna be absolutely fantastic. Uh, there's something about having him away from Arizona amenities and put into Minnesota cold climate, which will do him wonders. Yeah, he's gonna be fine. Uh they had a horrible draft. Horrible. But they have also had horrible drafts in the past. They did sign Juwan Jennings, though. So they now have Jordan Addison, Juwan Jennings, and Justin Jefferson. Two JJs.

SPEAKER_03

Three JJs. So you got JJ McCarthy, Juwan Jennings, and Justin Jefferson.

SPEAKER_02

Oh dear. They just love their things. And maybe he just wanna be the only JJ on that team. They love their things there. And speaking of Micah Parsons, um, uh yeah, the Green Bay Packers. Uh the Brandon uh Green Bay Packers are don't have a uh first round pick um this year or next year. Shout out Micah Parsons. They picked Brandon Cise out of South Carolina, cornerback. I th I like Brandon Cise. I think he's a good player, I think he's a good player. He's a good pick. Uh, they also took Chris McClellan from Missouri, defensive tackle. They traded up for that. Uh Trey Smack, they drafted a kicker. They traded up for a kicker. Well, the other kicker's gone, I think. McManus. Yes. Yeah. Yes. Yes. You did once make a really good fantasy football trade for McManus that led you to win the league.

SPEAKER_03

No, for Boswell.

SPEAKER_02

I know, but you traded away McManus, didn't you?

SPEAKER_03

No, it wasn't McManus, but it was a Green Bay package. Wasn't it a Green Bay kicker?

SPEAKER_02

And then he got cut through like the next week or something.

SPEAKER_03

Next week or something, and he missed some field goals. Yeah. Great asset management.

SPEAKER_02

Also, congratulations to Chris Boswell for signing his new extension. Ties uh Brandon Aubrey as the most expensive kicker in the league. Well, way to go. Chris Boswell. At least someone's signing in Pittsburgh. At least there's some at least there's some ink on paper going on in Yinzertown. Get that guy a Promante Brothers sandwich. Yeah. Fellas, I'm gonna I I'm really gonna keep this short and sweet with the Packers, really. I mean, I really don't have much interest in speaking about the cheese heads. Do or die? When it comes to this roster, this coach, this GM, maybe.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they're not gonna win the division.

SPEAKER_02

No, but I'm still kind of stunned they traded on Quicks. They gotta go on a run here.

SPEAKER_03

They didn't go offensive line in the draft, which I'm surprised about. They didn't go wide receiver either. They traded love has so much injury. Like, I don't know why they didn't go offensive linemen. I think it's do or die.

SPEAKER_02

Personally, personally, I think the Green Bay Packers don't go at least to the NFC Championship game. It's it, they're it's over for the roster. And let me tell you something, cheese head fans. Let me tell you something. Maybe, just maybe, next time you trade for a guy, you know, the equivalent, the Green Bay Packers are Diana Rossini's husband. That's what they are. Because here they are falling in love with a nice Italian woman, Diana. Beautiful Italian woman. So is Diana the Cowboys? No, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, hold on. Diana's Micah Parsons. Diana's Micah Parsons. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. I'm getting there. I'm getting there. So the Packers, Mr. Rossini, Shake Shack executive. Shout out to Shake Sack. Love love the burgers. Great time. Great milkshakes. Um they love he loves, or the Packers love, I guess. Dan Rossini. You know, they love the sauce she makes on Sundays. Great Italian woman. Mama's happy. Fucking fabulous. Great stuff. And young Dan is still dreaming about she left that high school boyfriend, Mike. Back in back in back in college. You know, they they split up. Mike went on and did his thing under the lights, the bright lights. And uh Danna can't stop talking about Mike.

SPEAKER_03

So that would be Aaron Rodgers, then.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, I guess that could also be attributed to Aaron. The problem, okay. The Green Bay Packers are cucks. That is where I knew that. That's where we're ending up with this. We're going with the Green Bay Packers are cucks. They will forever be cucks. They will never amount to getting to the main stage of like the actual fucking. They employed Mike McCarthy for far too long. They employed Brett Farr for far too long. They employed Aaron Rodgers for far too long. And they continue to just be cucks. The fact of the matter is, Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packer, many years. They limited his Super Bowl window by never giving him any help. They never brought the fucker any help. They never said, hey, here's a player. And now what are they doing to Jordan Love? The same thing. The same thing. They go out, they trade two first-round picks for Micah Parsons. Micah Parsons can't get Jerry Jones' dick out of his mouth. Crack of a Miller Light, official beer of the Dallas Cowboys, unsolicited ad. Shout out to our friends at Miller Light. Micah Parsons cannot stop talking about the Cowboys. Why was he talking? Why does he still have a podcast? Why is that still a thing? Who is listening to the podcast? I for not, I'm not listening to the podcast, but every time he mentions the Dallas Cowboys, suddenly it's on my feed. So he just likes talking about the Dallas Cowboys, so people listen to his podcast clip. And did you guys see him at the Pro Bowl? Did you see him at the Super Bowl trying to hang out with the Dallas Cowboy players?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, did you see him during the draft? Asking when he told Caleb Downs, you know, you know, you don't pick upon a star, you land upon it, and he was giving him advice. I fucking Caleb Downs was looking at him like, fuck you, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I honestly want like stop talking. Like, if I was Jerry Jones, we would love man. He misses Dallas. If I would, clearly does. He clearly does. He misses Buckswild. Shut up. He misses the barbecue. He misses the lifestyle. He misses no state income tax. He picked Green Bay. He didn't pick Green Bay. Jerry sent his fucking ass to Green Bay. Jerry, Jerry could have sent him. There's a plethora of teams Jerry could have sent him to. I think he did this shit on purpose. I think he's like, you know what? I'm gonna find the most miserable place in the fucking world. You're going there. I don't care their divisional rival. I want you to be miserable, Micah. And I think that's what he did. I think it's all right. Enjoy Green Bay. And that's what I mean. Like, how the how can fans root for this guy? Like, how he can how can you like I met Green Bay Packers fans like, oh, sorry for stealing my coffee, bro? That's exactly how they talk. That's always that's what they always say. Still, or that's how it was when he got traded. No, no, this is at the draft. Yeah. Sorry for stealing my coffee, bro. When did they actually be like, why why did we get this guy?

SPEAKER_03

And I'm like, I'm Thanks for thanks for like four games we had of Micah, have healthy Micah Parkinson.

SPEAKER_02

They're like, thanks for Micah, bro. And I'm like, okay, first of all, number one, you're welcome. Thank you for Quinn Williams, uh, Caleb Downs, and uh Kenny Clark. Kenny Clark, and uh, thank you for all that. And they're still happy. And George Pickens potentially signing. Thank you, thank you for that. Now, number two, I don't think you guys should be thanking me if the guy that you guys brought on your team is still thinking about the Dallas Cowboys every day of his life. Like, it's crazy. He cannot stop talking about them, and I assure you, Jerry was never ever gonna put him in his good books, ever. Jerry put barely put Jimmy Johnson in his good books. It took him like 20 years to get Jimmy Johnson in the Ring of Honor. And you think he's gonna be all hum chum chum with Micah Parsons? He hates that motherfucker. So I just think this is a learning experience for all you young cats out there. The grass is sometimes not as green in Green Bay. That's why they had to put the name Green in the bay. Because the grass wasn't greener. Moving on. KK's lines. So some of you may know the love machine had two teams rolling into Pittsburgh. He brought his two teams jerseys.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Barry's only wore one, though.

SPEAKER_02

He only wore one. So much love for Barry. So much love for Barry. They all loved Barry. It was Barry, Barry, Barry. And KK the Love Machine. It was KK the Love Machine. Uh, the Detroit Lions disappointed last year. That was not good. KK, what do you got to say? I think losing Ben Johnson took it still. You think? Yeah, Dan Campbell. And Dan Campbell going on to too many four downs. Dan Campbell looking at the play sheet like it's fucking a different language, and he's like reading the Dan Campbell looked like he was reading an Indian buffet menu for the very first time. He's like, Chicken Vindaloo, what's that? No, he's not like McCarthy, man. He's not looking at the menu like you never know. Uh, but the Lions did all right for the draft. Uh, they took uh Blake Miller out of um Clemson. Uh he's a game ready right tackle. I think they had that answers a little bit of that offensive line need. Derek Moore out of Michigan, staying in home, the edge, round two, 44 overall pick, you know, opposite Aiden Hutchinson. Not bad. Uh, then you got uh Jimmy Rolder, physical athletic linebacker in round four, and then Keith Abney, the second Arizona State cornerback. Pretty good draft. I'll hate it. I'll hate it.

SPEAKER_03

They go they got an offensive tackle. I'll tell you one thing, they could have got rid of David Montgomery. I think they should have another offensive lineman. The Raiders ended up picking running back Mike Washington Jr. I think that's a player that they should have gone. Yeah, but they saw they signed Isaiah Paquette.

SPEAKER_02

Pacheco Pacheco Pacheco looks so funny. I saw the clip. They got their running back. Do you see the clip of him running? I saw the clip of Jameer Gibbs, and you look how smooth Jameer Gibbs runs. And Isaiah Pacheco's like moving his head like the more often than he showed.

SPEAKER_03

He's just like the head's moving more than the feet.

SPEAKER_02

Like, come on. Pacheco's Pacheco's being silly.

SPEAKER_03

KK, that's your that's the number two. That's the Montgomery replacement. I don't think so.

SPEAKER_02

Pacheco's just silly. He's just a silly. I mean, do you need to really need a replacement for Gibbs? Not really. No, not Gibbs, Montgomery. No, but they gotta just feed Gibbs the ball more and more.

SPEAKER_03

They just gotta let Gibbs ride. Yeah, but you gotta have the backup running back to lighten the workload. You can see with so many teams.

SPEAKER_02

No, they're just gonna kill Pacheco. They're gonna send Pacheco out there for his one yard. Yeah, he's gonna be one yard inside zone, crashing into butt cheap.

SPEAKER_03

They do that with Panay Sue all though.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh well, they also have that option. Yeah, you guys stopped throwing to your offensive tackles as much last year. I think but they they added so much defenses, defense on this team. They need to, and I think we talked about we talked about the 49ers. I think the Lions need to go and study their physical therapy help and whatever else because man, they were injured last year. Yeah, secondary was they were destroyed. I don't I had the privilege or maybe the torture of watching them on Christmas Day, I think it was. And it was like basically a reserve squad that came in and they had to play for them. It was bad, it was bad times. Moving into the winners and losers of the division, KK. Uh uh, you're an esteemed uh Lions fan of the club. Oh, I'm going with the Lions all the way. Oh, whoa, whoa. Hello, hello, hello, how hello, how are you? As long as Dan Campbell just needs to kick some field goals once in a while. Take the points, take the W into the playoffs. Oh that's funny. You think they're a field goal. But there's lots of games where that was a momentum changer in the game, right? Yeah, yeah. Instead of being down, you're ahead. Game management. Wait, we hold on, pause. We never picked the best uh quarterback on the NFC. We did that out. We do that. NFC West. Yeah, we never did that. Well, I mean, there's only one guy anyway. Oh, it was a point of it's Stafford. Yeah, that's true. Sorry, guys. Sorry, guys. That's why we skipped over. Sorry, guys. It's Jeremiah. It's not Ty Simpson. It's Jeremiah Love. It's not Ty Simpson. It's Jeremiah Love. Jeremiah loves everything now. Uh yeah, sorry, go with your pick for uh oh.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna make it so funny. I'm picking the Chicago Bears. I think they're gonna run it back. Ben Johnson, year two, which means you have to pick either your two fair who are you gonna defend? Packers or Vikings? He's going the Vikings.

SPEAKER_02

Oh I'm gonna listen. Every everybody deserves a second chance. You can go with the other love. No, Jordan Love. No, no. It's okay. Everybody deserves a second chance. Everybody deserves a chance to redeem themselves. And I think when you take a man out of a out of a comfortable climate that he's used to, and you bring him into a you bring him into a spot so cold, so treacherous, so full of daycare, like Minnesota.

SPEAKER_03

I knew what you were doing.

SPEAKER_02

You pair him with one of the best wide receivers in the game, one of the best defenses in the game. You pair him with a motivated Juwan Jennings. You pair him with whoever decides to run the football in Minnesota. I think it might be Aaron Jones. You and Jordan Mason. Two San Francisco brothers reunite. Juwan Jennings and Jordan Mason. Give me the Minnesota Vikings. I'll take it. I'll take that, I'll take that. It's gotta be the worst. I knew you were gonna go. Worst $5 bet I've ever fucking made in my life, but it'll be fine. Uh best quarterback in the division, Phyllis. Your options are Jared Goff, Jordan Love, Caleb Williams, or Kyler Murray.

SPEAKER_03

Kyler Murray. It's gotta be Caleb Williams. You wouldn't go with your own QB. Really? Caleb Williams is better than Jared Goff.

SPEAKER_02

That's a realist right there.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'd go Caleb.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm gonna go Iceman. I'm gonna go Iceman.

SPEAKER_03

Is that his nickname?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's what he calls himself. I don't think Drake's very happy about that. I mean, did you pick Aaron Rodgers when he was? Did you pick Drew Aller or Will Howard?

SPEAKER_03

You know, I gotta say with Drew Aller though, and not to make it around. Ah, yes. But like a a lot of people saw the clip of him and his footwork and the drill and him throwing, and McCarthy was like watching him after the five minutes he stopped like eating to actually coach. But like everyone was like in the comments, just like, oh, he's going really slow. He's good, he had an ankle injury. No, that's what I'm saying. Broke his ankle.

SPEAKER_02

The point of the drill is to go slow. It's uh not that's what I mean to emphasize the stepping of the step. Exactly. But you're supposed to like really emphasize it's like uh basically it's I think it's coming out of center with the ball, and it's to like build your footwork like one, two, three, four, five. Exactly. And then step. Yeah, technique. So I think the purpose of him going slow is to show he knows the footwork.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly. But everyone, everyone in the comments was blowing up like, oh, he looks really slow. This is Rogers' replacement. Like he's coming off with an ankle injury.

SPEAKER_02

How fast is Aaron Rodgers compared to that? I bet he's probably the same speed as Aaron Rodgers. I bet, I bet him, I bet Drew Alar's pointed drill is probably the same speed as Aaron Rodgers going full speed. But yeah, no, Steelers fans. Just relax a little bit. It's gonna be fine. It's gonna be okay. I know you guys had the draft there and you guys were pumped and jazzed, and now you don't know what to do with yourselves. Just relax. It's gonna be fine. It's gonna be alright. You'll be okay. Go watch some pirates games. Lovely stadium, you have fellas. It's time. Let's start. Let's get into it. New York Giants. The New York football giants. Listen, John Harbaugh's era, they started off with a bang. They took Mr. R. Val Reese, number five overall. Okay. All right. They traded Dexter Lawrence for the 10th overall pick. They got Francis Mawanoa from Miami. Said he would die for Jackson Dart. Literal words. They took Colton Hood, round two, pick 37. They took Malachi Field, round three, pick 74. Good draft. What a great draft. Good draft. That's a good draft. And those are just the little highlights there. Let me scary times. That'll be scary times in uh in New York. I think John Harbaugh's a serious football man. I think uh he's gonna build himself a serious program. I'm not sure they might not win a lot of games, but they're gonna be a serious football team. I think gone are the days of Brian Dable screaming at um Cam Scataboo out of the blue tent and like telling him to go back into the game. I think you're gonna run a very serious operation. I do love the Arval Reese pick. Mao Noah is a is a dog of a pick. Thank you very much for giving us Caleb Downs. Love that. And you know what? Colton Hood, that's a solid pick, addresses a need. They're gonna they're gonna need to figure out what they're doing with Arval Reese and Abdul Carter in terms of yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Abdul Carter, I mean, who the hell knows what's going on with him?

SPEAKER_02

He does seem like a bit of a wild card. Yeah, that man. So it'll be interesting to see what they end up doing with it. Could be trade bait. Oh, okay. Could be trade bait. Okay, all right.

SPEAKER_03

Wow, now we're now we're the Giants do have a problem with like not being able to see things with the star, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

See things through with their star player. Yeah, and then they go and try to sign him years later. Hello, Dell Beckham Jr. Welcome back. You are now a New York Giant. Listen, I I like what they've done. I I think would you so at Arvel Reese's position, like, do you think that that was the right pick there? Yeah, I do. Yeah, you do. Yeah, I think that was a great pick. He dropped at number five. He did, yeah. I think it went uh it went Mendoza, Bailey, Love, Carnell Tate, and then it went Reese. And then Mansour Delaney went next. Yeah. To the Chiefs.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think that's a good that that guy could have gone too, right?

SPEAKER_02

Everyone was saying Bailey or Reese, and I think the upside there is uh is a lot higher than than people give him credit for. And Giants fans, but you can also move Arval Reese around. You they're gonna need to be patient with him, though. Yeah, that's the thing, and I don't know how much patience they have, and that's like a thing that's a thing with that's why hiring John Arbo is a good signing, but that's a step in the right direction. It was Brian Dayball. I mean, you had too many young guys just flying around, yeah. So they gotta be patient with Arval Reese. I don't know if you're gonna see his full untapped potential on day one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, the there's something uh yeah, he is a little like athletically, he's great. IQ, he's not very smart.

SPEAKER_02

He's not the smartest man in the world. Uh but hey, he can figure it out. I do like the Moonoah pick. I think Francis Moonoa, if he stays healthy, yeah, it's a perfect pick. I think you need that, especially if you have a quarterback like Jackson Dart, and especially if you have a running back like Cam Scataboo. Now, fellas, moving on to the Philadelphia Eagles. Philadelphia Eagles traded up to get Mike High Lemon. Uh stolen from the Steelers, who were on the phone with them. Uh, he's a slot specialist, I think, with A.J. Brown's time, likely done with the Philadelphia Eagles. I think it's a good step in the right direction for them. Uh, Eli Stowers out of Vanderbilt was their round two pick, the tight end. And then Markel Bell was their offensive tackle pick in round three. Fellas, I can't really talk about the Eagles in a positive light. I will say them taking going up and taking Mike High Lemon, Howie Roseman, doing howie Roseman things, seeing the writing on the wall for one of their players and quickly getting his replacement is tidy business. Now, this is the last year for Nick Sirianni. All the pressure is on. All the pressure is on Jalen Hurts. Everybody's under pressure. I haven't even talked about Saquon Barkley. All the pressure's on there. Philadelphia is tense. The Flyers suck. The 76ers suck. The Eagles suck. The Phillies suck. Everybody's just sucking. I'm just looking at this team. It's like half the team left, and then they signed a bunch of new guys fill in the void. Yep. I mean, they lost a lot of their defense. A lot of their defensive players went out to free agency. And they signed a lot of free agents. Yeah. And you know, this is a contract year for uh Mr. Jalen Hurts. Trying to get paid, trying to get that big dollar. They're gonna be in the mix. I think they're gonna be in the mix. I don't, I'm gonna be uh my new year's resolution is to not spam spazz out at Eagles players and fans and team members. I think they're gonna be in the mix. Are they a lock right away? I don't think so. I think give them three weeks because that first three weeks, if they start out one and two, oh and three, dare I say one and two, though. I think you're gonna have some problems. I think you're there's gonna be some serious chaos going on in Eagles country. That might happen because you got a lot of guys coming in, all that chemistry. You gotta rebuild all that.

SPEAKER_03

What shocks me though is like it seems like uh what did they get Big Dom to do the draft picks? So you just went through all this bullshit drama with AJ Brown, and then you decide, oh, let's get Makai Lemon, who his temperament off the field and in media is kind of questionable. And then they just signed Dallas Goddard, and then they decide to go get Eli Stowers, who hasn't really played tight end much at college football level. And then, oh yeah, to top it off, they pick a Nigerian player who has never played football in his life. So what the fuck is the franchise doing? What the fuck's going on?

SPEAKER_02

See it in Eastern Pennsylvania. It was my new confused as well because it was my new year's resolution. What's it everyone? AJ Brown, you got Makai Lemon, you traded for Don Tavian Wicks. You signed Hollywood Brown. Like, I have no idea what's going on. I don't know what the fuck's going on. They also got the bigger one. They also got the wide receiver who's best friends with AJ Brown. They signed him too. Who's that? The what's his name? The Eagles signed him, though. AJ Brown's best friend. Elijah Moore? Is that him? Uh yeah, Elijah Moore. Yeah. So they they brought in another receiver. But like if you're trading away AJ Brown, what was the point of bringing in Elijah? Exactly. So they have AJ Brown. They drafted another receiver, Makai Lemon, and then they brought in Wicks, Elijah Moore, and Hollywood Brown. Yes. But it was quite beautiful.

SPEAKER_03

Like, how many What I don't understand? It's like all the Philly fans, all the Eagles fans are just looking at the Steelers fans over in Western Pennsylvania and be like, ha, we got Makai Lemon for you. It's like it's like it's like going to the fucking garage sale and then seeing a five-dollar item and then being like, I'll give you 50. Ha! I just got a deal. What do you mean just team's like, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_02

You're gonna have Jalen Hurt just dropping back, he'll be to all six people. He can't go. What if you catch it? What do you go down there? Why don't you go down there and snag the ball down? What if you guys get it? There's six.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my days. Oh hey. It's just like I felt like Big Dom was picking, and what the fuck was he doing in the war room? Like supplying the supplying the snacks. What do you think he's doing?

SPEAKER_02

He's supplying the Philly cheesesteaks. He's he's picking out Gabagool out of his pocket. What the fuck? Yeah, I don't fucking drop the cheese. I like the cheese on my feet. Yeah, you know what? It was my news resolution. So you guys are fucking crazy in Philadelphia. It seems like Pittsburgh owes Dallas for what Dallas did to help the Eagles get Mackay Lemonel. Yeah, no, it's like we we we got rid of this guy, so you guys will take him.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he's almost you guys dodged a bullet. I know, I think we really do. A lot of people on day one were like freaking out. And then I was like, hold on.

SPEAKER_02

It was really funny uh at the draft, but yeah, people were losing their minds. It was quite entertaining. Uh, speaking of losing their minds, the Washington Commanders uh had a good draft. I think they picked Sonny Styles, number seven. Man, that was a good pick. I don't hate that pick. Uh, you got Antonio Williams from Clemson, uh, round three, and uh then they drafted Ed Joshua Josephs. I mean, just Sonny Styles is a home run pick. They do not really address their wide receiver needs. That's not enough. They are speculated to be in the Brandon Ayuk trade speculation, so there's maybe hope there. Guys, gotta do a better job drafting. Especially the draft is gonna be there next year.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I mean, the size the styles is a great pick, but problem is like I don't think so. What else do you think?

SPEAKER_02

I don't think Jaden Daniels is gonna finish the year. I think they also I think they got themselves another RG3 situation.

SPEAKER_03

Well, it depends how they use like, yeah, did they get some O-line help from him?

SPEAKER_02

No, not really.

SPEAKER_03

How do they use their sit? They have him run around the field a little bit. He just runs around like a madman with his head cut off and then eventually gets tackled.

SPEAKER_02

So like Antonio, the Antonio Williams one offensive lineman, guard Chris Ford in the feast.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I like the the Antonio Williams pick out of Clemson, he's a good receiver. He he's like uh he's like a younger Terry McLaurin. So if you just if you do like a run pass option, it works well, but at the end of the day, it's just like it's too much on Jaden Daniels.

SPEAKER_02

You know who needs a key to the city? Terry McLaurin. He needs a key to that city. He'd been there for forever, just winding away with just shit after shit each year. I mean, I don't hate it. I don't, I'm not a big fan of what they did, to be honest. I'm not like out here, like, oh my god, wow, they just totally won the thing. I think Sonny Styles helps address a lot of needs. They still need a lot of work. Maybe getting Brandon Ayuk helps them a little bit there. But yeah, they gotta protect Mr. Jaden Daniels. That's number one thing on their on their list should be to protect Jaden Daniels. All right, fellas. Now it's important that we talk about um the uh best team in the nation. I'd like to say, I'd like to say best team in the nation, America's team. Uh, but before I do, I just want to give a special shout out to uh the folks over at Fantasy Jocks. Uh Fantasy Jock for hooking us up with our fantasy football wrestling belt. KK, you took a look at that belt. That was an awesome belt. Yeah, you know what? All you I can't wait to be wearing that next season. Oh, well, everyone's delusional all of a sudden. I see everybody sipping the Philadelphia Eagle water. Um, but if you guys are in need of any sort of fantasy memorabilia or belts or rings, draft boards, loser trophies, anything you can think of, they have it. Fantasyjocks.com. Right now, they've got five dollar shipping, or it's free if you make an order over 200 bucks. Um, they've got everything you can pretty much think of. They don't just stop at football, they've got baseball and basketball as well for their trophies. They also have cool little rings. Maybe we'll be adding that into our little repertoire for our for our league champs. So that'll be very nice. Uh, once again, we appreciate all the folks at fantasy fantasyjocks.com for all their support in uh in gearing us up. We'll be having a lot of fantasy football content down the road. Um, if you do want to get in touch with us for a sponsorship or any sort of inquiry, you can email us at redzone blitzpodcast at gmail.com. If you want to follow us on the social media, you can follow us at redzone blitzpod um on all the platforms. Um, where you find your social media content? Where KK, where can they find you? KK Redzone Blitz on Instagram. And Matt, where can they find you? Matt underscore RZB99. There you go. Um, come follow us. We'll uh we're a good time. You can come look at our selfies. It'll be fun for everybody involved. Now, fellas. Okay. With the pick of the absolute century, Caleb Downs. Number 11, round one. Amazing. Malachi Lawrence, round one, 23, overall pick. Very nice. I like that. Day Sean Barrett at Michigan edge, round three. Like that. Good archetype for that Christian Parker system. LT Overton, another edge, round four. From Alabama. Three edges and four picks. Came just that third one just came out of a result of a trade back on round one with uh with our good old uh Philadelphia Eagles. Now I think Caleb Downs is gonna be the best player available at his position. He might be the best player in the defensively in the draft. I love it. I love the edges. I love what they've done so far. George Pickens seems like he is on his way to sign his franchise tag. He signed it. He seems like he's gonna play on it. That offense is gonna be there. But from an out, like if you were to look at the Cowboys defense now versus what they started with last year, night and day, I think a big difference. Christian Parker, it's an exciting time. Exciting time for Christian Parker to be in the fold. But man, Caleb Downs, I think that that is the guy. I think going into it, if you had told me that we walk out of there with Caleb Downs, I would have given it an A regardless of any other pick. So they addressed a huge need there. Uh thank you to all the teams that passed on Caleb. Very much appreciate it. They also added out um some players in free agency as well with their safety and their edge. So, all in all, tidy work from the Jones family. Jerry cooked, Jerry had a little sip of his blue label on Thursday, decided to cook, traded up to get Mr. Uh Mr. Caleb Downs. Didn't just wait for him. I like it. I like it. But yeah, this is this this is do or die.

SPEAKER_03

This is it, this is uh do or die.

SPEAKER_02

This is yeah, this is do or die for this cool.

SPEAKER_03

This is the team that needs to win the division.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and so like they've gotta they've gotta go, they've gotta win the division, they've gotta not just win the division, they've gotta win a game, then they've gotta win another game, then they've got to win another game, and then they gotta win. Okay, okay, and then they gotta, and then in Valentine's Day, Cowboys fans will rejoice. The population of the world will grow because they will be babies being made. November of 2027 will be the most populous month for babies being born in the entire world. What people are gonna be fucking after the cap. What do you guys just think they're just gonna go home and fall asleep?

SPEAKER_03

Diana's got a new team.

SPEAKER_02

It's gonna be fuck central in Dallas. We're gonna, it's gonna be the raging stampede of just babies in that Dallas Fort Worth area. It's gonna be everyone's gonna be named Dak or Caleb. Gonna have a couple of couple of Malachi's in there. Someone, hey, I'll I might just name my kid Jerry. Aubrey's I might just name my kid Jerry.

SPEAKER_03

I wouldn't be surprised if you did that. That's your favorite Dallas Cowboy.

SPEAKER_02

My favorite Dallas Cowboy is Jerry Jones. It is.

SPEAKER_03

I do love Jerry Jones or Zeke.

SPEAKER_02

Zeke was my favorite. He was he was a good uh favorite of mine. I do like Dak. Dak is my favorite. Uh, but um, I might name, I might name uh might name the but hey, be careful, guys. Hey, Cabas facts. Let me talk to you here. Be careful. The hype train's gonna come, they're already started. ESPN is already telling us how we're Super Bowl contenders and how this, that, and the other. We just gotta lay low. We just gotta you know keep our head down. Call us Cowboys fans never lay low. It's a cycle, though. We gotta keep our head down.

SPEAKER_03

Go through the cycle. There's always yeah, you're right.

SPEAKER_02

Fuck laying low. Super Bowl, it's our year. Yeah, see? Fuck laying low. We're gonna be laying low for 365 days a year. Cowboys. Yeah, what are we fucking low? Laying low here. Shout out Bucks Wilde. We're going wild, we're going all the way. We're going all the way. LA 2027. Cowboys versus Steelers. Super Bowl. No, sorry. Cowboys versus Chiefs. Let's go. Let's go. Mansoor Delaney getting cooked by George Pickens on the in route. Oh, Dap Prescott throwing a touchdown. Oh, oh, nice little Javante Williams touchdown. Oh, Caleb Downs interception, dare I say?

SPEAKER_03

I'm surprised he didn't work in like players that are not on the team that are just gonna be cowboys all of a sudden.

SPEAKER_02

Troy Aikman from the fucking turnbox. I think this is just what he dreams at every dreams of every night. Isn't ESPN calling the game? Doesn't that mean Troy Aikman will be the color commentator? Michael Irvin with a belt whipping pictures of Taylor Swift on a garbage can. Just fucking going pound town in the corner. You know what the Cowboys need is someone like Haley. They need like a monster. Like just an absolute Charles Haley monster. And I think George Pickens is that guy. I think he's gonna cook the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, and then he's gonna blow a kiss out to the box to Taylor Swift. And then he's gonna tell Kelsey I just stole your bitch. I don't see Pickens doing that. And then Kelsey's gonna try to swing at Pickens, and then he's gonna get kicked out of the game. And then now what's Mahomes gonna do? Nothing. Nothing. I love this pipe dream. Uh, fellas, best team in the div. You know where I'm going, team who's winning this division. Ain't no way, ain't no how, ain't no other way about it. Who said you get to go first? Come on. Hey, you guys all went first for your division. Yeah, we know. Even if you made me go and you left the Eagles and the commanders for me, I still would have been like, fuck it. Fuck it. Fuck it. Yeah, it's the Calvin's. I'm breaking the rules. Um, I'm pulling a Patriot wave, breaking the rules. I'm deflating the gates. Here we go. Yeah, no, Campos won't have this depending on it's gonna be beautiful. I'm going with the Giants. How dare you? I like I like the he's trying to get out of the league. You're gonna pick the giants. That's fine. Go ahead. Both of you picked the Giants. Why don't we both just pick Philly? Oh, good. Run it. I'm not paying.

SPEAKER_03

No, I hate Philly now. He hate Philly now. It's just he has one too many battles. Not because of the Mike Kai Lemon thing. I'm past that. It's just they're that team.

SPEAKER_02

That team, I have no idea what's going on with the Eagles.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, exactly. Hey, also it's okay. If you pick Giants, I would pick Commanders. Can't pick the Eagles.

SPEAKER_02

Also, if you're an Eagles fan and your girl was at the Nelly concert. Just saying. Just saying. Just saying. I'm not gonna say nothing much, but must just say.

SPEAKER_03

You're just saying, just saying.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just saying she has a new favorite team. Just saying. Just saying. So wait, sorry. You're saying who are Don't Mike Rabel the situation. He picked the Washington Ronders. So nobody picks the Eagles, eh? Oh, well, that's just beautiful. Well, no one no one has a clue what they're doing right now. That is true. They have like seven receivers and a quarterback that can't be.

SPEAKER_03

I think Jane Daniels is better than Jalen Hurts.

SPEAKER_02

Oh. Oh, yeah, I agree with that. All right, who's the best quarterback in the division?

SPEAKER_03

I'd go with Dak. I'd go with Dak.

SPEAKER_02

Dakota Rain Prescott. You know what? Okay. A lot of people hate on Dak, and some Cowboys fans even hate on Dak. He's like the third, um, I think he has the third most yards in SEC history.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, he was great at Mississippi State.

SPEAKER_02

And he's the fourth, he's fourth in touchdowns.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like in the SEC in their history. This is like, dude can bowl. Like, I feel like Steelers fans are dying out there. They would love. Could you imagine the Steelers would die out there? You gotta have like a you gotta have like a Permante Brothers sandwich called the Prescott. It would be like fucking just brilliant. But Dak's not going anywhere. Derry's got that thing a lockdown. He's retiring a cowboy. Uh listen, Dak stays healthy, God bless. Fuck all the rest. It's gonna be beautiful times in Dallas. It's gonna be a beautiful time. Um, fellas, how do you feel so far about the uh NFL? Any sleeper Super Bowl matchup picks? I gave you guys mine. Way too early. I think it's early. Yo, it'll give me a way to early Super Bowl. Super Bowl Cowboys and Chiefs. Oh, come on. Okay, give me your way too early Super Bowl prediction.

SPEAKER_03

Realistically, like, are you being realistic right now? Yeah, I don't know. I it's way too early. You can be way too early.

SPEAKER_02

You could be not realistic. It's up to you. There's no fucking well, I'll say Steelers, but okay, Steelers, and who's the NFC?

SPEAKER_03

Uh I don't know, maybe Rams. Okay, Steelers, Rams, okay. That'd be cool. Yeah, there's some history there.

SPEAKER_02

I'll go, I'll go with the Lions and Steelers. The Lions and Steelers. Oh, you just want to just want to go and just win your you're just trying to take a revenge for all those Steelers fans that chirped you when you went by the Lombardi trophies and were like, hey, hey, hey, that's the closest you guys have ever gotten to one. Yeah, I ain't never gotten never seen one of these before. Steelers Steelers with Drew Aller as a quarterback, not Aaron Rodgers.

SPEAKER_03

I would like to see it. A lot of people want Will Howard, but yeah, any final message to Mr.

SPEAKER_02

Aaron Rodgers as of recording Monday, May 11th.

SPEAKER_03

Get off the golf course and go to the facility. You just at least talk with the organization. I don't care if you sign or you don't sign, but so you still want him as a quarterback?

SPEAKER_02

Huh? My message him would be like just do I want him?

SPEAKER_03

Do I want him as a quarterback? I no, I honestly just tell him to go home. I honestly, truth be told, I don't want him as a QB for the team. I want to want him as a coach. I want the that would actually be kind of no, he would be a crap. Him offensive coordinator? No. With Mike, big Mike? No, because he would be like, sit down, kid, give me the helmet and the football. It would be bad.

SPEAKER_02

All right, that's enough. Give me your jersey.

SPEAKER_03

I'm going to go.

SPEAKER_02

How many Green Bay Packers are going to end up uh being traded to the Steelers this season?

SPEAKER_03

If Rogers goes back, probably like five. I honestly I don't want him back though. I think Randall Connor's retirement.

SPEAKER_02

It seems like the receivers always follow in Rogers.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he goes. But they should do Drew Aller, Will Howard in training camp and just see, have them battle it out, see who's gonna be the uh the QB number one. And but I don't know. I don't really want Rogers back. I think that's it.

SPEAKER_02

It's not a horrible, it's not a horrible thing to go with Drew Alar and um yeah, what's his face? Will Howard? That's not the worst thing. It's not the worst thing. Um, fellas, that's another episode. Good old NFC. Shout out to the NFC. We'll be back with another episode. We'll be doing a little bit of a dive of that lovely schedule. We'll be ranking our top five games to look forward to next year. Uh, what's on our top three bucket lists for travel when it comes to those games? We'll try to incorporate some college football games that would be happening happening around the same time. So we'll go and do some research. We'll come back with some games. Maybe we'll be partnering with the travel agency. Who knows? The possibilities are endless. In the meantime, if you haven't already, please go subscribe to our YouTube Red Zone Blitz Podcast.
