It's me your host, AJ the Silverfox, and we're on location at Heat Night Club for Bear House's Pride Takeover. And joining us is none other than the devastatingly handsome, sexy DJ, Jeremy Dava, and my new friend. Welcome to San Antonio and thank you for coming. Thank you. I'm so happy. I'm so grateful. Thank you guys for inviting me. Good. No, of course. I'm glad you're here. You know, um, so I like to start from the beginning. So I I know you're from LA, but you moved to Mexico and grew up there, right?
SPEAKER_00So I was born in LA, uh-huh. And then I raced in Mexico for about 80 years. Wow.
Growing Up Between LA And Mexico
SPEAKER_00And then I moved to LA and I barely said everything over there. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I mean, what's one thing that you just like? I mean, being from LA and being like growing up there, like what are some stipulations or what's what's a misconception from LA like that that people always misunderstand? Like for for people, like when people hear about LA, they're like, oh, people are just stuck up or everyone's so pretty, and clearly you are. So um, do you uh do you love the weather there? Do you love shopping? Like, tell me about LA.
SPEAKER_00Well, you know, LA is a bigger city, it's so nice, the weather is amazing. I like because our community, we're all of like together. Like, you know, we're it's a lot of people, but at the same time, we feel like a we're like a family. So I like that because uh like for example, at the party, uh uh it feels like uh we're like at the house, you know, with people like kiki making friends. I I don't know, I feel like it's just an amazing place to make a friend. I made my family honestly in this industry. Yeah, it's just kind of hard, you know, sometimes.
SPEAKER_01So, and and speaking of the industry, how long have you been DJing?
SPEAKER_00Well, I've been DJ professional about five years. Oh wow. Yeah, five years. Oh my god, it's been a while.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, five years is a long time. So, as a DJ,
Five Years In The DJ Grind
SPEAKER_01um, where have you gone to travel to? What's your favorite city?
SPEAKER_00That question, I don't even have an answer, honestly. Because every city is just amazing, every country. Um, I can explain you, for example, like um Colombia when I play in Bogotá. Oh my god, people there is like uh it was amazing. I I remember when I played my first song, everybody connecting and start dancing. Puerto Rico, Mexico, oh my god, I love Puerto Vallarta is one of them. Yeah, oh my god, yes, Matamar, right? I've been playing Matamar industry, and I love that.
SPEAKER_01How else would you explain your sound? How can I split it? Like how like how would you explain your type of sound that you like to imagine?
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. Honestly, uh the energy,
Building A Sound Through Connection
SPEAKER_00the way that uh I love to connect with the people. Um sometimes I feel like oh my god. Um I'm playing and I see everybody on the floor and I like kind of like see people and like uh look at them, send it like heart and send the kisses. I I I like that. I like to connect. Like I think this is about yeah, you're a flirt. Yeah, he's pretty, of course he's a flirt. I love it. It's just like I don't know, sometimes I'm really concentrated what I'm doing, but at the same time, I'm looking at the crowd, and and I don't know, I feel like I wanna like make everybody happy, you know, and make it feel what I feel at the moment.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's really awesome. You know, so aside from DJing, what else what else do you do? Do you like what else do you like to do? Do you have um a lot of DJs I've spoken to? They have a different work, like travel in others, you know what
School Cybersecurity And Producing Music
SPEAKER_01I mean? What do you what do you do?
SPEAKER_00Well, right now, that was being crazy. Uh I'm I'm in school right now. Oh, cool. Uh I'm doing um. So setting production, right? Exactly. And also uh I want to do like an extra career. I'm doing like cybersecurity. It's something like technology is I kinda like it. Yeah. Also, I work at a Katery company, so that's kind of amazing too. Um pretty much like you know, like produce music and learning. I'm still working on that. Yeah, because it's not easy, guys.
SPEAKER_01No, it's not. No, it's not. You know, it's a lot of there's a lot of DJs, and I've I'm friends with a lot of DJs, but you know, not all of them are producer DJs, you know. I've noticed that because it is very hard to understand one the the the sound and the connection, right? So, you know, that's actually good for you. How much longer do you have until you're done with school?
SPEAKER_00Hmm. Well, I'm still in doing that. Okay. I'm still like working up, still learning a lot. Yeah. Because you never start learning something new. That's true. And like you said, there is a lot, a lot, a lot of DJ, the producer. And for example, I have a lot, a lot of good friends that um I'm gonna get to the level that they are. Like the way that they're amazing. Yeah, like for example, Nina Flowers, one of the beards, like she inspired me, honestly. You know, amazing. Uh Luis Vázquez from uh Portugal so good.
SPEAKER_01It's amazing. I saw him at Industry in Guadalajara. No, no, no. And in Guadalajara, and well, where was Babel? Babel in Guadalajara, he's so good. Have you have you played at Babel? Not yet.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Uh yeah, but I have uh good friends out there. I hope we're soon, guys. So exactly, exactly.
SPEAKER_01Um I think I think we're supposed to be there next month in July for Eric Abiza's oof, bird. So amazing. Amazing. Um so aside from Nina Flowers, what other DJs inspired you before you became a DJ? Like who who influences your music?
SPEAKER_00Well, there is a DJ there, oh my god, I love him a lot. Is Ivan Guzman. He's from naturally Guadalajara, Alex Acosta, Alexander from LA. I've like honestly, Alexander, he's been um someone who kind of like helps me a lot in this career. Yeah, a lot. Because he's the owner for Relo Entertainer, yes, and that's what I'm resident. Yes, yes, and oh my god, just playing Reload for me, it's like a like a drink that drew.
SPEAKER_01You know, I I was I was going through your Instagram, and you know, I see I I recognize several of the DJs, and it's it's kind of one thing that I've noticed, especially like Nina Flowers, so humble,
Humility Mentors And Coming Back To SA
SPEAKER_01so humble, so sweet, so talented, and so humble. And I mean, you're my new friend, and I could already tell you're so sweet and sincere and and very humble yourself. So um, you know, I'm I'm excited. So this is your second time here in San Antonio, right? Yes. When when was the last time you were here?
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, I can't I was talking to Jesse. I think it was 2023, 2022. Okay. It's been a while. Yeah. It's been a while, but it was an amazing experience.
SPEAKER_01I'm trying to remember why I can't, I mean, I missed a couple. I I come to every bear house event, but I've missed a couple for certain reasons I will not say on camera, but um, you know, I I I'm I I'm so excited to see what you're gonna do tonight. Um I'm so excited to see I know I'm already ready. I'm ready for you guys. Exactly. So tell me about your local residency in LA. Like what um what's where do you play or is is it like every monthly? Is it weekly?
SPEAKER_00Tell me about that. Well mostly like
Reload Residency And DJ Family
SPEAKER_00uh reload is mostly on the holidays. Oh um sometimes we have two uh uh like two reloads and one month, sometimes it's one. So pretty much uh I play like a holiday, like for example, I just played uh on Parai last weekend. It was With Hope, and it was amazing. And this is my uh five time play for Reload. And that's my fourth time uh back to back to Jay Garcia. So Jay Garcia is actually my best friend, yeah. And I always say this is gonna sound like a funny, but I'm uh the DJ mother.
SPEAKER_01Oh father. No, no, no. Listen, Nina Flowers is mother to a lot of a lot of the DJs, so I I definitely understand that. Um speaking of that, do you um um do you watch like RuPaul's drag race? Or okay, you do? I do, I do. I love it. Yeah, it's fun, it's really, really good. I um were you excited with the past winner or the most recent winner? Yeah, I'm excited about that. Yeah, yeah. It was really, really cool. I love, I mean, I would watch it religiously every Friday um when it would air. So, you know, I I like to know I like to I like to know more about the DJs when when you say something like you you watch what what outs outside of school and DJing and stuff like that, what's like a lazy day at home? Like what do you like to do? What do you like to watch on TV?
SPEAKER_00Well, for me, actually, I really like to work out. I I like to get out of here. Of course, he loves to work out. Look at look at him. No, I'm trying to get there. But um, I'm pretty chill.
Workouts Quiet Days And Dating Myths
SPEAKER_00Honestly, when uh for me, party is work. I'm not saying I don't uh I don't go out like after, but mostly when I'm not working as a DJ, I prefer just to stay home. I like to like maybe go with my friend hiking and something like something pretty chill. Like opposite what I do all my work life because you know it's hard, like trouble, it's exhausting, it's exhausting, exactly. And you just wanna like a chill, you know? Yeah, yeah. And I don't have no boyfriend, but I just single and ready to mingle.
SPEAKER_01Um that is so funny. Well, that's you know, that's really really fun, you know. How is the dating scene in LA? Is it hard?
SPEAKER_00Well the thing, listen guys. Everybody thinks the DJs were always like uh dating people every city that you go to like oh my god, you have uh someone in every city. Like, that's not true. That's not true. We got there, we we we really have time to sleep, and then we have to go play, and then the next day you need to go ready to go back home. So we don't have no boyfriends every city.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm sure some of them do, but this one doesn't because he's a sweetheart. Um, I love that. Well, that's so funny, you know. I I'm so excited, like I said, to hear your sets. So I know you mentioned hiking, but uh uh being in LA, are you a mountains or beach person? Matt. Mountains.
SPEAKER_00Actually, I don't really like the beach. No, why? Uh I don't know. It's crazy. It's crazy. I like the beach out of the LA. Yes. Like Puerto Vallarta, Caico, Rio de Janeiro, he's talking about Brazil, ladies and gentlemen.
SPEAKER_01Brazil. Um, so when you have breakfast, you like tacos, pancakes. What what do you do for breakfast? Chilaquiles. I love it. Chilaquiles. I love it. Um, okay, so do you like sweet or salty? It's spicy. Smoke it like a true Mexicano. I love it. Um, so um I already know this, but night out or cozy night in? I'm sorry, nice. Night out or cozy night in? Night out, yeah. Night out. Oh, okay. You like to so you like to go have fun? Yeah. Um, what is your favorite ice cream flavor?
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, that's a good question. Oh my god. Uh I banilla? Vanilla?

SPEAKER_00When you see happy for you, so I love it. I feel like uh the life is too short to be stressful, sad. So life is better with a smile.
