Beyond the Stream
Howdy howdy, I'm Bullet. I've been streaming on Twitch since 2015 and have had a lot of ups and downs on this streaming journey. I took a step away from streaming in 2018 and recently got back into streaming late 2024. Since getting back into streaming, I have been all about supporting small streamers, and helping them grow their communities. I started a shoutout series on TikTok every Sunday called "streamer Sundays", where I shout out a small streamer and help get their names out into the world. And that dawned this podcast, I wanted to go further than a 2 minute video. I wanted to sit down and pick the mind of these small streamers and see what gets them to hit "go live". So join me as I sit down with small streamers every other week and get to know these streamers Beyond the Stream! Side note, all of the episodes are lived streamed to Twitch and Tiktok so there will be some interactions throughout the episode.

Welcome in and welcome in everybody to be on the stream with Miss Rogue Iris. How is everybody doing? Who all do we have in chat? We have Papa Marshmallow Killer Chef Bert hello. I read as well. Rogue, I see you in chat as well. And the Blanco, Blanco, I hope I said that correct. Crew, welcome in. First time chat as well. How's everybody doing? Let's go. Miss Frogue, how are you doing? Are you feeling ready? Are you prepared? Are you nervous?
SPEAKER_05I thought, well, either which way, it don't matter.
SPEAKER_06Let's go, let's go. You got this. You got this, my friend. I have nothing but faith in you. I believe in you. Let's go, kill a chef. Hello, hello. So, yes, ladies and gentlemen, we have Miss Rogue Iris on the other line. She is ready. She has been a good spirit with me blowing up her DMs, sending her all sorts of uh songs and overlays and everything. So everything you see here has been okayed by her. I am excited for this one. She is, uh, if you aren't familiar, she played the headliners with me for my very first playthrough, and we had an absolute blast. Uh, she is a great streamer. She does phasmophobia, so you know I'm already hooked because y'all know how I am with Faz. Uh, just an all-around great streamer. So if you guys are ready to meet her, I'm ready to bring her on. Rogue, are you ready to be brought on? She said, without further ado, let's get it going. Here we go.
SPEAKER_10And now, for the moment you've all been waiting for.
SPEAKER_06And ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, the one and only Miss Rogue Iris. Hello, Miss Rogue. How are you doing? Thank you so much for coming and hanging out with us tonight.
SPEAKER_04Hello. I am like a little confused right now because I'm watching stream and then I'm listening to you here, and my face is not in sync with myself. I'm like, who do I listen to? What do I look at? But you know what? I'm just gonna tap out of everything, locked into just your voice, and I will try my best. Oh my god. Hi everyone!
SPEAKER_06Lock into my the sweet serenity of my voice.
SPEAKER_05Oh boy.
SPEAKER_06Oh boy. Hey, and the crowd goes wild. Rogue, rogue, rogue. Rook, rook, rook, rook. You gotta do the squillium chant. Rogue, rogue, rogue, iris, rogue, rogue, rogue. Rogue iris. You're right.
SPEAKER_04Maybe I'll have Squill actually do that on his since I do his name in my stream.
SPEAKER_06Yep, you ought to. You ought to. So rogue, I won't waste any longer. The chat is ready to get to know you. I'm getting I am ready to get to know you. So tell us a little bit about yourself. Where did you come up with your stream name?
SPEAKER_04My stream name is just my gamertag, I would say. Um, and I had a totally different one from when I was a kid. Obviously, some of us, maybe most of us, at least I did not like any of the usernames I made when I was a kid. So uh with this one, obviously, Iris, that's my name. Uh, and then the Rogue Park is three parts. One, Rogue One is actually one of my favorite movies. Uh, obviously one of my favorite Star Wars movies. And then Rogue is also usually my go-to class whenever I play any fantasy game. Uh, I like the daggers, I like the swiftness, I like the stealth, so I usually go with Rogue. And then the other letters in it actually come from are just other letters in my real name. Uh, and so I thought that that was just a way to tie it personally um into my actual identity outside of just my interest, and so I just went ahead and did Rogue Iris. The thing is though, it actually started as Rogue Air 10. My birthday's in October. I couldn't use Rogue One, so I was like 10, 10. Uh, and then we went with Rogue Air 15 because I wanted to be edgy with the one and the five to look like an I and an S. But then I actually started streaming with that name. But then after a couple of raids of people being like, yo, Rogue Rogue AR15, yo, you you named your username after a gun. And I'm like, I was like, okay, no more being edgy. I'm switching out the 15 to just IS. And it just helps it be more recognizable as well, whenever, and then easier to pronounce or say when people are reading in chat, they would just see like all letters instead of the numbers pretending to be letters. So, but yeah, that's the origin of at least my name. Rogue Rogue.
SPEAKER_06There we go. As I like to say it. So she'd be like slicing and dicing. I'm not gonna lie, I thought the heiress or I I said heiress until you corrected me on our collab, and I felt so bad because I've been calling you AirS for so long. And I figured it was something to do with your um streamer, like had your whole platform because I know you got like the airline theme with with your channel, so I thought it was something in and tie with that. So I was completely off and wrong on that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, well, obviously the airplane does come into play from Air is. Um, many people do mistake it as well to be Ares. I actually have no problem at all with however people pronounce it. Iris or Ares, as long as it's not Ares, I'm actually pretty okay with it. I wanna say maybe just for like more of a streamer recognition or like brand recognition, Rogue Airis might make a little bit more sense because again, of all the airplanes and air sky stuff. So uh in terms of like again, just recognition or helping people recognize my name and stuff like that. I'm okay, I'm definitely okay. Much more okay or prefer airis, I think, in when we're talking about me as a streamer, but if we're just hanging out on like a Discord playing games, uh, even if like we're both streaming, like it's perfectly fine. So if you end up saying like rogue iris, iris, like I really do not. I feel like more people are more determined or more, yeah, more determined in what pronoun pronunciation it is, and I'm here just like I really don't care, guys. Like you guys think we'll get offended. Like, no, not really. I I don't want to say goodbye to Iris. I don't want to say goodbye to Eris. So can we please? Why not, you know, why not both? I'm okay with both.
SPEAKER_06That's why I just call you rogue. I can't go wrong with rogue. And you see Chef and Marshmallow say the same thing. They they were saying it the same way. So I was just saying, I was saying like I was telling you before we got on here, you know, when I had hybrid do your your video for TikTok. I've made sure to put in parentheses iris, like the eyeball. So don't get it wrong.
SPEAKER_04It's it's okay. That is what it is, technically like, based on my parents, you know, so it's like iris.
SPEAKER_06Took me five times to say it, right?
SPEAKER_04See Iris, Iris, Iris. But we gotta we gotta you were tempted to say Iris, right? So again, just the brand thing, the recognition, the simplicity for the viewers.
SPEAKER_06There you go. Do it for the views.
SPEAKER_04I just people were just having too many times. My actual uh other real names and everything, just all my life, people have had a hard time wondering how to pronounce my name. So I feel like at this point it's like Rogue Eris, Rogue Iris, it's not even my real name. You can pronounce it however you want. You can go roguaris or something, or rouge eris, and it's like, yeah, I'll take it.
SPEAKER_06Oh, that's just too fancy. I can't even I don't Rouge. Can I Okay, yeah. Rogue.
SPEAKER_01Rogueiris.
SPEAKER_06No, see, that's just too fancy. I can't do it that fast.
SPEAKER_05So what got you into streaming?
SPEAKER_04Um I wanna say I've always been pretty artistic. Uh as a kid, you know, simpler art like doodles, drawing. I eventually got into at least making videos. I want to say in middle school, we would have some English or reading projects to some project, and we had options, and me and my group would always choose to make a parody or a video of whatever uh poem or storybook that we were doing, and so that definitely sparked my interest in video recording, I think, one year. I think before any of that too, I got a camcorder for Christmas, so just having that and started making videos at home. Um, there was a point where I wanted to be a Hollywood director and work on films and all that, and then and in a completely separate note with content creation. I did try when I was like 13. I got like one mean comment after my first video and just never and just deleted everything. Um, and then but it was always in the back of my mind, you know, going back to content creating. I was inspired. My some of my role models are like, you know, PewDiePie. Like I obviously watched them during when he first started and when he was peeking, and I was like, wow, this looks fun. That's how I got into horror games as well, just watching PewDiePie. And then, you know, school got in the way, whether it was high school, college, and then early career, and then going back for like grad school and things like that. I just never obviously got a chance to pursue it or even played games. So I was away from video games for a very long time. But it wasn't until at least like 2020, 2021 when I finally got a gaming PC. Um, was finally back into playing games, and then it wasn't re until honestly like 2024, around the fall, when I decided to watch content creators again, watch streamers again. Um, just because I found out about phasmophobia at the time and I was like, what is this game? I wanna see it, I wanna learn how to play it before I actually play it because I was scared. I watched someone do a tutorial of Phasmophobia because I couldn't do it myself. Um but during all of that, I wanna say streaming maybe has been in the back of my mind because I would constantly try and build up my setup so like a nicer camera, a nicer mic each time, learning how to do OBS, uh lighting. But most of the time it was just streaming on Discord, so it wasn't really like streaming streaming, so I didn't need to like use too many things or it felt more comfortable because it was just to my friends. But finally, after finding Phasmo, watching content creators again, seeing how much I enjoyed watching YouTube again, like I did when I was watching PewDiePie, that at the end of 2024 I told myself that my new year's resolution for 2025 would be streaming. And so I think it was it took me a few weeks, but January like 21st or something, I did my first stream. Uh everything leading up to it was just setting up my channel, uh, putting the panels, putting rules, looking and watching what other streamers do, researching how to start, and then I just haven't looked back since then. And so it's been a great experience. Um, and I just wanted to focus on streaming, definitely for my first year, and then um it was and it was a fun, like it was a fun year. I'm finally getting to start playing um games for people, playing with new people, meeting new people, and then just in general making content because you know, just deep down since I was 13, and I feel like it's the same for a lot of many people when YouTube was first starting out, like, oh my gosh, we can make videos, we can post that, and then it's just been on the rise, especially the past few years too. And so it was like, you know what, might as well. I I'm not I don't have school anymore, my job is set, I have so much free time, let's start streaming. So very long-winded answer. Like I said, I'm worried I'm gonna go on tangents, but hopefully, you know, I told my story. I hope I stayed on point. You did fantastic.
SPEAKER_06But yes, so January of this year, as in five months ago, January of this year or January 2025?
SPEAKER_042025. Oh, okay. So this is my second year of streaming.
SPEAKER_06Okay, okay. Well basically I have enjoyed the ride for the short time that I have been with you, and I think it was through Squill that I met you through a Fazmo collab, and like I said, Faz is my is my game, so I I I followed you like instantly, and look at look at us now.
SPEAKER_04And look back and you know, taking pictures of aliens and watching each other throw civilians on landmines and the newspaper.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. Fun times, fun times. Uh so let's see. We just answered that question for how long you've streamed for. Do you stream on any other platforms other than Twitch or is it just mainly Twitch?
SPEAKER_04Uh it's mainly Twitch for now. Um, I did just start at YouTube this year, but I'm gonna focus on just posting videos on there first and then maybe I'll dip into like the dual channel streaming, but for now it's definitely just Twitch.
SPEAKER_06Gotcha, gotcha. And let's see, first time chatter, Bryn Alien Force. Welcome in, welcome in.
SPEAKER_04Uh let's see. Hi, Brenna.
SPEAKER_06Brynn Ali.
SPEAKER_04That's my girlfriend, actually.
SPEAKER_06Oh, okay. I'm sorry. See, I'm horrible.
SPEAKER_04Bren 10 Alien Force. It is, I mean, whatever. She has a 10 there. Her name is Brenna though. Hi, Brenna. And then I'm not sure. The Blanco crew, you guys sound familiar. I'm assuming you're some in real life friends, and if you are, thank you for being here. If not, I still thank you for being here. But you know, it's also nice to see some people in real life come by and support. But again, support or support, and that's nice. Thank you guys.
SPEAKER_06Yes, thank you everybody for coming out and supporting Miss Rogue. And if y'all aren't following her, her links have been dropped in the chat. Be sure to go check out all her socials. Because that's what tonight is about is you know, meeting somebody new, following somebody new. AKA your next favorite fast streamer, because I suck at the game. She's a lot better than I am.
SPEAKER_04The only thing I'm good at is talking shit about the game as I play it and screaming to the point that my mic clips all the time.
SPEAKER_06But if you like that So, what kind of games do you stream, or do you have a favorite type of game that you enjoy streaming?
SPEAKER_04Uh, right now obviously it would be my horror co-op games. I do try and lean towards horror or some type of new janky co-op game. I think it's been I'm trying to do I'm I am trying to come up with a schedule. I would like to keep playing indie games. I would like to do horror games. And then I have started doing RPGs because I do like to play those in general, and might as well like why am I playing this off stream? I could just do it on stream, so I've been able to finally um include those as well for my streams, but right now the rotation is definitely horror co-op, whatever new friend slap has been published on Steam and then RPGs.
SPEAKER_06Do you have a favorite RPG?
SPEAKER_04I mean I feel like that the whole genre is so diverse. I mean, I that I mean Pokemon's like an RPG and you know, just I would say that that's my childhood favorite for sure, is either Pokemon Emerald or Pokemon Pearl. Um the newer ones have yet to, you know, really give me that same spark yet. Um but of course I still play them. Where otherwise I do enjoy very long I mean, I'm playing Kingdom Come Deliverance right now, so it's kinda like a simulator game, but also story game. Um But it's again, it's been a while since I've been playing any video games, and the most that I have been playing are just your horror co-ops. Um haven't touched any RPGs, any recent ones either, uh in a while except for Pokemon, so it's hard to tell. I just like a good story. I did play Far Cry before, uh and I did like that, just the different, you know, hunting, uh fishing, gliding, uh whatever activities, and then I guess can encompass the same where you can do different things. Um and you can play however you want to play. Uh probably just those that let you have like your own adventure, let you decide like what class you are, pick up whatever items, make whatever decisions you want, kind of RPG games, because you know, full autonomy, full immersion. I could watch someone play it, but then if I play it, you know, it's it's not like I saw any spoilers. I can it can I can still have a completely different experience.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, for sure, for sure. And W on Pokemon, for sure. I think that's all of our favorite childhood games.
SPEAKER_04I just I just completed Leaf Green on the Switch finally, uh earlier today, so I haven't bought it yet because I did get Pokopia or Pocopia, however you say it, and I haven't like done what I want to do with that game yet, so I'm holding off on new games until I finish it. I got a bac a lot of backlog on my PC, not so much in the Switch, and I would like to keep it that way for the Switch, especially because they're way more expensive too.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it um I just recently got into the Switch game, so I'm way behind the eight ball and everything, and I was looking back because I was, you know, gonna buy all the I was gonna buy Let's Go Pikachu, Let's Go Eevee, and all that. And I was like, bro, these games came out 10 years ago. Why are they still sixty dollars? So I was kinda kinda hurt on that one. So slowly we'll build up our Pokemon crew, so I know that's crazy. So we have your favorite type of gaming that you will stream or play. What on the opposite side of that? What games will you not play? Like, absolutely, you could not pay you enough to do it. Just absolutely not. I'm not doing it.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. I'm willing to try anything. It's just a matter of, you know, not being really interested in, I guess, other genres uh just yet. So, and there's plenty of genres. I mean, every time I go on Steam, I find a new a genre that I haven't heard before or something, and it's like, what is this? And then I take a look and it's like, okay, maybe. Like, I'm not going to turn down the game because I'm I have I'm very curious. I like games that make me think. So if it's a game that I'm not used to, then you know that's a game that will definitely make me think. Uh, because it's just, you know, it's just a whole new ball game, and so I'm interested in doing that. Um, I wanna say, I I'm sure a lot of people say horror because they don't want to get scared and stuff like that, but obviously I already play that. Uh so I if anything, there are still some horror games that I am very afraid to even touch. Um, so but it has slowly kind of started building like I was like, I'll never play Outlast, and I'm like, oh, maybe I will. Oh, I'll never play Mortuary Assistant. I'm slowly getting there, but it's because probably the idea has been planted in my head and I was able to simmer with it. So now I'm like okay with it. So that's why I don't think there's a game that I won't necessarily play yet. Unless you guys can name any right now. Um I guess I will I guess it's fair to say I probably won't play. No, no, I'm not even gonna say it. Just go, you guys just say it. I'm not gonna continue, I'm not gonna finish that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, never say never because I always said I'd never play Fortnite, and I've played Fortnite now, so you know what?
SPEAKER_04I'll never play League of Legends.
SPEAKER_10Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04I just heard that it's a toxic community. I'm sorry if there's anyone here that plays it, but and I am a very bad gamer. I'm not confident in myself at all, so I don't think I would ever touch that game because I worry that every lobby is going to shit on me um for how I play. And I'm like, nope, I don't want to do this anymore.
SPEAKER_06So well Papa Marshmallow says play layer of fears.
SPEAKER_04I yeah, that's another one that I still have to think on. Yeah, thank you, Papa. That's what I wanted to say, but then I'm like, I don't even want to say it. Thank you for saying the word. I won't play that. I won't play that. You can check my Steam library. I don't have any of that either. So it's like not even like off-stream. I'm not gonna do that ever at all.
SPEAKER_06So let's see. If you're comfortable answering this, what do you do for a living to fund your streaming journey?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, uh, and I've mentioned this before as well, like in Discord servers or in stream, but I do work human resources, I work in an office, and I mainly am involved in recruiting and staffing. So I do look at resumes, I give interview prep, I do the interview, I talk to hiring managers, um, and my specific company, that's what they do. That's all they do because we are like a firm for it, a staffing firm. And so I just know about hiring trends from different industries. Um, even if I don't recruit in that industry, I just hear it a lot and on the floor. People are always and you know, just always talking shop and talking about work. Um but yeah, that's the that's the basic gist of it. Uh while I am it is a staffing firm, uh, and I do help with recruiting. I still do, I'm the only one that does the other HR stuff. So, like actually helping you sign up for benefits, answering questions about your benefits, your pay, and stuff like that. Uh, and then I hire the people to do the recruiting for our clients, so to speak.
SPEAKER_06So if y'all ever go to rogues chat, y'all better be on y'all's best behavior because you don't want to see her in her office now, okay? HR Queen. Uh Marshmallow said it said I have might have I might have internet connectivity issues, so he don't know the answer.
SPEAKER_04That somehow your connectivity can be here. Right. But you know what? If you're saving you're saving your Wi-Fi for us, we'll take it. That's a fair. That's fair.
SPEAKER_06Yes, W marshmallow W. Wait, wait or ration your your internet for us. So without going into like PC specs or anything, what does your current setup for streaming look like as far as like your monitors, keyboard, um, headset, etc.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Um, my I want to say my audio components are all in the midst of like an overhaul, so it will change real soon. But I just have like a Logitech wireless headset. I do have an audio interface with an XLR, and then this microphone right here. As for my monitors, I do have a you don't you don't need the specifics, but I'm deciding right now. It's it's 34-inch widescreen, curved screen in the middle. Then I have two vertical monitors here to the side. One has OBS, one has stream, and then of course the game. And then we got the camera. I got two ring lights, one right here next to the camera, one a little bit further away, and then I got, of course, a keyboard, this little mouse, and then for a Steam Deck, I'm just using the Steam Deck Mobile at the moment. I'm testing it out, see if I really use it a lot, or make sure I build that habit first before I actually end up buying the actual thing. The IEMs, I do still have the IEMs, but I just pick and choose when I uh decide to do it up. Mainly when this thing runs out of battery or if I'm actually doing some editing. Um, even when I play Fazz or whatever, where you can you need to pay attention to where the sound is, I'm just opting for. I'm still opting for the overhead. Yes, Daisy's right there.
SPEAKER_06I was gonna say, you have a little guest behind you, I see.
SPEAKER_04They're all actually behind me, but this is the only one that you are, in fact, able to see. Hi, JG. Hey little girl.
SPEAKER_06I'm not even gonna lie, I didn't even notice her until she stood up, and I was like, oh, there was a cat there.
SPEAKER_04She was a little bit more to the side. I had just pulled her in here.
SPEAKER_06She's been hard working setting all her stuff. Kitties are part of the setup too. Ah.
SPEAKER_04Yes, the kitties are part of the setup. So yeah, there's a there's a bed attached to the desk. And then there's this couchery next to the desk. Because they just otherwise they'll both be on my desk. So I needed to have a diversion for them. Gotcha, gotcha.
SPEAKER_06So what does your stream schedule normally look like? How often do you try to stream weekly?
SPEAKER_04Uh I'll try and stream twice a week, maybe even three. Uh I usually do Tuesday, Thursdays, and then at least one weekend stream, whether that's a Friday night, Saturday, or Sunday. I normally don't I've never streamed on a Sunday until like I think the maybe last week, just because I was like, okay, I accidentally missed Saturday, so here I am. Uh but yeah, so at minimum two, but I try to go for three.
SPEAKER_06And what time do you people what time do you normally Oh yeah?
SPEAKER_04Uh 8 p.m. Central. And so that would be, I believe, nine Eastern and then maybe like six Pacific time.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Uh wait, what happened? I didn't hear the answer to which question, Cyber. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I I still have them. I just pick and choose when I use them, but I mostly use them for when I'm actually uh editing videos, so I can hello hello.
SPEAKER_06You know, you have your your first time chatters come into your channel, and you know, before they can chat, they have to hit the okay, I got it on your rules set. You know, this the ground rules for your channel. You don't have to go like remember them word for word, but just a baseline. What are some ground rules for your first-time chatters or a new chatter coming in?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, uh, I mean, simply put, you know, just be respectful. Uh, and one of the I noticed like a bunch of rules on like, oh, no discrimination and stuff like that. And it's clear on my channel that I am actually uh LGBT as well as Asian and stuff like that. So uh those are at least the very specific sort of discrimination that I won't accept for sure. Racism and then homophobia. Um, and then that one I I mean that one will actually make me interrupt stream if anyone says that. Otherwise, other sort of things. I will just leave, you know, the mods to it. Um, and then of course, just be respectful to the mods, to me, each other. Um, no back seating unless I actually ask for it. Uh, everyone needs to be nice to Brennan. If she's in chat, again, she's my girlfriend, so everyone needs to be nice to her. Um, and so, and then I think that's the main thing, honestly. Um, I don't think I have no honestly, I don't care about shout-outs, but if it's clear that you are there only to just say who you are and dip, and you're not, you know, someone in the community who's just mentioning like, oh yeah, I'm gonna be streaming this day, or I'm gonna start streaming and stuff like that, then it's like, yeah, you gotta like weirdo. I don't know, man. That's just so rude.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I think we all kind of agree on that one for sure.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06So, what is a big pet peeve of yours during stream?
SPEAKER_04I think that it's just the backseaters. Um, because I don't I don't like spoilers. I like to try and solve puzzles on my own. I like to discover the story on my own. Uh, at this point I do have some really good community members who do ask, like, hey, there's something here. Um, do you want to know how to do this? Do you want to do that? And and I appreciate them for it. Otherwise wait until I'm like actually like, guys, guys, what's the help? Because yeah, I've had a few people literally tell me like what to do five steps ahead, and then my playthrough feels like too scripted or too and it's like I can ignore it, but I also can't because I already looked at it and now it's like at the back of my mind, and I'm just gonna keep looking at it. Um, and it just feels like you know, backseaters are controlling the stream, controlling my game. Like, excuse me, this is my game. I get like some people who's played a game and they want to come in and like be helpful, but you know, you can be helpful without backseating or go find someone who actually has like a backseat allowed sort of thing. But for me, otherwise, I prefer like blind playthroughs or um yeah, basically that like just to learn things on my own. But it also depends on what that thing is. I know sometimes there's a glitch or sometimes whatever, like those are it's always case by case, but I think we all know what I mean by like don't backseat, don't try and control my stream and stuff like that. Right, yeah, and like as what Cyber is saying. It just depends. And it also depends on who it is. Some people I will allow to tell me what to do because I asked for it, and then some are just unsolicited, and it's like bro, why are you fighting me on this? And they argue with everyone else and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_06So it's like For sure, yeah. I uh I did Little Nightmares for the first time the other night, and Mandy Redrose came in and she was like, I love Little Nightmares. I said, So I'm assuming you've played this game. She said, Oh, I love this game. I've played it numerous times, and I was still on the the character picking. I said, Okay, okay, do I do six or do I do the kit? She said, Do six first. So I did six, and I'll get conf like I get confused or hung up on a spot, and I'm like, you know, can can I get a hint? Like, I don't want you to tell me what to do, but can I get a hint? And the one scene that I was on, she was like, Okay, you're done with the room you're in. You need to go back to the other room, and that was it. So I got out of that room and I went back. So and then I was running around that room for about five, ten minutes before I finally realized I was like, oh, this is where I go. Thank you so much. Like it's just that it was just that little subtle hint of okay, you're done there, just go back this way and figure it out from there.
SPEAKER_04Like, wait for me to ask, give me maybe one step, like literally one hint, and not tell me literally the next five steps.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because we're like turn here, turn there, jump here, like dude.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, like I knew where I had to go. I I knew like the the exit to to the to the scene. I knew how where where that was. It was just getting to that point, and she was like, Okay, just get out of that room, go back to this room, and good luck. So then I did that, and then I figured it out. I was like, boom, and then I was exiting the room. I said, see, I told y'all this is how we left. I just had to get to this point. Right, exactly. Yes, hence can be helpful rather than full steps, exactly. Yes. So if you can remember back to January of last year, what was the first game that you streamed?
SPEAKER_04Uh it was Project Zomboid. Should I elaborate?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, well, I've I've never heard of that. What was that? What is that?
SPEAKER_04Okay, so Project Zomboid, as you can probably tell by the name, it's a zombie game. Uh, it is somewhat open world, I believe, set in Kentucky. And it's to me, I describe it as like the a zombie apocalypse survival game that looks like the Sims, specifically the first Sims, because the way that you control your character and the way that you can like just control it or do stuff, uh, kind of reminds me of the Sim. And then it's just you trying to survive the downfall of humanity, fighting hordes of zombies and setting up a base, and you know, trying to find gas for this car, trying to find a key to the car and stuff like that. And yeah, yeah, you're a basic zombie game, but has like a Sims one feel to me. I like I just like the detail in the game. There's so many things that you can do in it you'd be surprised to try and like survive. So it's one of those very I guess it's one of the first games that I played that's very intricate like that. And so that's why I enjoyed it. And then Baz was also another game that I played.
SPEAKER_06And you said that was Project Zomboid?
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_06I just wrote it down. I'm gonna take a I wanna take a look at it. That's why uh I I just wanted to clarify. Now, if you could go back to your childhood and play a game for the first time again, what would it be?
SPEAKER_04Pokemon? Pokemon with and I can't decide which one, but I want to say my top three are like Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon Fire Red, and then Pokemon Pearl. So if I could play some of those games all over again, um doing all of the post-championship sort of like content, like finding the legendaries. If anyone remember, like some braille, learning how to read the unknown, stuff like that to get to like other legendaries, like that stuff. Um I would want to try and figure out how to do again for sure.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I um I did like I said, I just beat Leaf Green yesterday or today, and I went to go to Mewtwo's cave, and it was saying, you know, you gotta beat the Elite Four, and I was just like, I've already done that. And then my my co-worker who's also a Pokemon nerd, he was telling, you know, he came in this morning and I was like, dude, like I don't know what to do. And he was like, Oh, yeah, you gotta go to the the sin the the the other islands and do this.
SPEAKER_05I said, where did that come from? Like you beat the elite four back in the day, yeah, because on the original gameplay.
SPEAKER_04And they haven't changed the dialogue. Yeah, because I was thinking the same thing as a kid, and I think I have the same save file for like months or even a year, or I probably did restart, who knows? But it took me years later to realize that I could do so much more if I just looked around the Sevi Islands a little bit more. So it's like, what the fuck? Like, it took me like maybe a three years to actually have like a complete completionist run on there, aside from like Pokedex, because I didn't get to trade with people, I didn't have friends. No, I just didn't have the cable.
SPEAKER_06Shout out to my my co-worker, he's hooking me up. So I think I'm one I think I'm 147 out of 151 as of as of yesterday or this morning.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's so easy to trade now, man.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so I'm I'm gonna get it done. So I I because I've been giving him all the leaf green exclusives, he's been giving me all the fire red exclusives, so I'm getting it done. I'm getting it done.
SPEAKER_04I played, I had both. I I had fire red first, lost then and got leaf green, and it was leaf green that I was able to play all the way through. Um, but fire red would have to be my favorite because that one's my very first Pokemon game, and it has Growlithe in it, so I'm like, I need my puppy.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I love Growlithe. Growlithe was one of my favorites back in the day. So do you have a favorite game? All-time favorite game. You could play it for hours on end, beat it numerous times, always a go-to, no questions asked.
SPEAKER_04That is hard because I still think that I have only recently gone back to playing video games. Right now, the closest thing that I would consider that is Phasmophobia, just because I have been going back to it. There was a little bit of time where I was burnt out, but then they rolled out with a bunch of new um updates, you know, throughout last year, so at least each time I hopped on there was something new to like try. Uh, it'd be that, a little bit of uh Dead by Daylight. I tried to get into this uh this new skateboarding game called Skate, period, um, by EA, and that was one that I wanted to try and just be a regular app. Uh, but I haven't and then I still want to go back to it, but it's not, unfortunately, on the shelf right now on the table. Um, but I also thought about, you know, yeah, like Marvel, Overwatch, Fortnite, but I'm like, no, I can't. And then as for like Pokemon games, I feel like there's so much that I can do until like finish the story. So it's, you know, it's not a game that you I guess would replay over and over again. Um, I'm not one of those people that tries to fight that shiny hunts or tries to like get the perfect, I don't know, stats and their Pokemon. Like for me, it's just the story and then the Pokedex and then um you know, leveling up my Pokemon stuff like that. But I don't go that deep into uh the type of different playthroughs that you can have with Pokemon.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, um my my co-worker, I kind of I guess cheated the system on this one because he helped me out. So I played through with all three starters.
SPEAKER_04So oh yeah. So there's I mean that is another way to do it. I definitely feel like did do that uh when I was a kid, um, trying different starters, and then I stopped doing that once I realized that I could, you know, get Mewtwo or get the Regis and Emerald and Rayquaza, and I was like, why the fuck would I start over? I have all these Pokemons, I'm not gonna lose them. But then when Pearl and Diamond came out, you could transfer your Pokemon from your Game Boy games up to the Nintendo DS game. So once I was able to transfer up my beloved Pokemon to just one uh save file, I was able to like, okay, let's try again on something new here.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Uh Big Back says we still need to play Project Zombie Zomboid.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. The last time we played, we it took like three hours for us to find each other in the game, and then we haven't gone back since to see like, all right, let's continue our story. But it's it's it's there's been a lot of other games since then. Bookie is actually get a quick little shout. I don't even remember if this is a question, but Buki is is like my first follower that wasn't like one of my in-real life friends. He I wasn't even streaming yet when I met him, and then he wasn't following me yet. But on my first very first stream, he comes in and this guy has just been here ever since. And so just big shout out to him. If it wasn't for this random guy popping in, giving me support in addition to my in-real life friends, I probably would have thought like no one knew was ever gonna think I was like cool or funny. So I I shit on him a lot, but Bookie, thank you so much for that random surprise when you first came in.
SPEAKER_06Yes, shout out Big Buki. Let's go.
SPEAKER_00Big back, big back.
SPEAKER_06Well, I uh, you know, would have to say 348 people think you are just as cool as cool can be.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06But if I weren't for that one random maybe one of those 348, you are one of the coolest for sure.
SPEAKER_04I get like I appreciate it. Took a lot of uh time to build up this confidence, and I'm I'm very happy with everyone that's here.
SPEAKER_06So what gets you to stream on your bad days? Like if you you just had a really bad day at work, boss been chewing on you all day, but you have a stream that's scheduled for that, it's a Tuesday or a Thursday. What gets you to stream on a bad day?
SPEAKER_04I one, I think I at least recently I've been doing a really good job with staying consistent uh and streaming every Tuesday, Thursday, so that's good. But at least before then, it was definitely just the fact that I would be playing with people. Uh, if I'm playing solo, most of the time, I'm just like, it's just me, I won't do it. Or I'll do like an hour just to say that I streamed. But otherwise, if I'm playing a game with someone, I'm like, I'm already having a bad day. The only thing that could probably make me feel better is if I hang out with some friends and have some really good laughs with them. And so I'm like, all right, if I have a co-op planned out for stream, I'll do it. Or sometimes, unfortunately, I won't stream, but I'll still play with the people that I uh scheduled with so that I can still have that connection with them and just stream on Discord on the server instead as like a private stream.
SPEAKER_11Gotcha.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's that seems to be the the the main answer when I ask that question on here is consistency and communities or friends, because especially we'll use Big Back, for example. You know, he's been here since day one, and when they've been around for a while, they can just tell if you're having a bad day, and they can just they they have a way of making you feel better. You know, these these are just people you've never met in real life ever, but they know you like y'all are you know real life best friends, and it's just hey, let's let's laugh, let's chill, you know, let's let's have a good day.
SPEAKER_04Right, yeah, and I mean I guess I also don't want people to worry about me, so I'll end up streaming anyways. They'd be like, hi guys, I'm here, I'm okay. But just also then just something for myself, like, come on, you can push through this. And you know how you can prove yourself that you push through this by finishing out the day exactly as you planned, and that does include stream. Uh, but I will say that was more of a recent mindset, hence why I've been very consistent in the past few weeks. Um, but before that, I don't think I was really in that same mindset of like, come on, just keep going, just push through. Cause I would get home and immediately just like I give up. Um, I mean, I still listen to myself, of course, my emotions or my body if I am burnt out, but so far I gotta say the consistency is turning into a habit now, and you know, once you form a habit, it gets um a lot easier because it's just like in nature.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, for sure. For sure indeed. Have you ever since you started streaming, is there anything you regret not taking advantage of?
SPEAKER_04I don't think I have any regrets at the moment, or at all. Um I guess there could have been some things that I could have done sooner, like maybe YouTube or you know, branching out a little bit more, but I waited this long for a reason, and that was to make sure that I was actually ready for it. Was everything at work okay? Is everything else in my community okay? Is my twitch streaming like okay and things like that? And so I was very forgiving uh with myself because I wanted this, I want this to be a hobby. I don't want it to feel like a job where I have to clock in every Tuesday, Thursday at 8 p.m. kind of thing. Um, and so I just wanted to make sure I feel like I'm going a tangent now, and I forgot the question. Can you repeat the question?
SPEAKER_06Is there anything you have regr is there anything not taking advantage of?
SPEAKER_04No, I just don't. I don't. Um, and that's how um I don't regret anything. I I waited this long, waited until I was fully ready with it. Um should I take what was there to take advantage of, I guess. Like in my experience, I guess. So it's like, I guess there was nothing. And if there was something to take advantage of, I probably did. I am just blanking out on that, you know, concept because it's like I did everything by my own terms. I did everything when I was ready, when I actually felt okay with it, when I made sure that you know my priorities in real life were done. Uh, and so because I was able to have that mindset as well, that yeah, I just don't regret. I I mean I guess I regret I maybe I regret not recording some older videos. Uh, I was doing Silent Hill in October. That could have been like some nice videos to eventually put on YouTube, but otherwise, it's like I wasn't recording anything because I was only streaming. But otherwise, it's like I took my time, I listened to myself, I listened to my limits, and I did it one by one and slowly. So I'm actually really proud with how I did it, even though maybe it's slow to some people on, I guess, how they would want to have their channel grow. But for me, I'm like, this is exactly where I'm meant to be, and I'm like very happy. Ever since I started streaming, it's been nothing but just like I love doing this, and that's because I never put any sort of like high affectation on myself.
SPEAKER_06Very well said, very well said.
SPEAKER_04I hope so. I yeah, it was lost my train of thought because it was getting too good.
SPEAKER_06Yes, yes, let her cook, let her cook, chat.
SPEAKER_04Let her cook.
SPEAKER_01I dropped the spatula.
SPEAKER_06And you know, I just realized that you've been talking about how big of a fan of Pokemon you are and everything. I just realized you had a Gengar on your hat. I just realized that when you were getting all up in the hot and heavy in the mic and everything, I was like, wait, is that a Gengar?
SPEAKER_04That is a Gengar. Every now and then, you know, I go to like whatever department store, like let's say Target, and I always pass by you in the video game section Nintendo with the Pokemon, and I see what they have, and uh, I saw this originally, I don't remember how much it cost, I didn't buy it, and then it came back some weeks later and it was on clearance for three dollars, and I'm like, and it's Gengar? I could wear this for my horror stream. So I was just like, pop. It's it's just on the brand. I have beanies with like my logo on it as well, and stuff like that. Um, and like the Nike stuff, and I feel like that's just all a part of like this is what you see. You see my forehead. So it's like the beanie, whatever beanie the the hats I see. I'm always looking to see like what else can I add to the brand.
SPEAKER_06Let's go, let's go. What has been the hardest thing you've had to overcome since you've started streaming?
SPEAKER_04Uh definitely the schedule. Cause I mean, it's only been like a month and a half of me being consistent, but you know, who knows what could happen next. And I try and like look back at my past streaming schedules and it would just be I mean I tried to stick to a schedule as best as I could, but it was just messy and um I would just be exhausted coming home. I think I don't know, I would come home at like I try to like schedule stream like maybe two hours, three hours after I get home, but that was not enough. I don't even know if there was something else going on like in real life as well that would have caused me to not stream on some weeks. But otherwise, it's just that like being consistent, being present, um whether it's in my streams or like in someone else's stream and things like that, uh, making sure that I can commit to it certain days, but never really quitting, and then of course not getting jealous of other people who may have more viewers or more subscribers than me and things like that. Um it was definitely, of course, I'm sure we're all familiar with like, you know, don't compare yourself to other people, uh focus on yourself sort of thing. And I want to say that that scheduling and that, and especially because if I see more people and I'm like, I only have this, I'm like, maybe I should just quit. Because I'm not like that person. So it was just a lot of self-esteem things, I believe, and then just scheduling.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I feel like we all have that that comparison, uh, what's what's the word? Uh devil on our shoulder, I guess you could say. Or oh, this person's doing this. Like, what are they doing differently? Or how could I have that many people and just just don't pay attention to it. That's my that's my biggest thing. Like turn it off. Like, don't pay attention to it at all. Because like you just said, that's you're gonna see it and you're gonna beat yourself up about it, and it's just gonna put a lot of doubt into you. Just just turn it off. Don't don't and I've been doing this for almost eleven years now, and I still catch myself like nope, don't look at it. Like, you just keep grinding, you keep doing you, and don't worry about everybody else. So just turn it off. Don't pay attention to it.
SPEAKER_04Right. And I'm sure while now I'm talking about it, I'll probably end up feeling like that again, like in a few months. But uh we we're trying to do better this year. We started streaming last year, this year we're gonna work on actually like making it consistent.
SPEAKER_06So we laid the foundation, now it's time to build the walls and build the structure.
SPEAKER_04Exactly.
SPEAKER_06Do you ever feel forced to go live?
SPEAKER_04Not at all. No, if I don't feel like streaming, then I will just send a message on Discord and be like, guys, I'm not feeling well. Um, I'll try and stream maybe tomorrow night or the weekend, things like that. So and but then I usually am still open to gaming, so I always open up like, hey, if anyone like wants to play a game, or if someone else is streaming and they like I can maybe show up on their stream, I just don't want the camera on. That's mainly yeah, I just don't want the camera on. Uh there are times where I'm like maybe just get like a little PNG tuber to put in place for those dates where I don't want to. But otherwise, I'm still like pretty social. Um, and so that's what I try and do when that happens.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, like the night we did the headliners, and I was like, You want to stream, Rug? Nope, this is all about you, don't uh don't even ask me to stream. Okay, it's all right. I just I didn't want to. Yeah, they're so sad.
SPEAKER_04It gets chaotic, yeah. I mean, you were the one who invited me, so I tried to mean mindful. Uh if I stream, then I'd have to, you know, pay attention to my stream and might accidentally disregard you who's playing the game for the first time, especially. So it's like I don't want any distractions, this is all you. Um, and so I just try I I try and figure out what the vibe is, and then I'll decide based on that if I should stream or not.
SPEAKER_06Gotcha. Now, if you could collab with any streamer, whether it be a big streamer like PewDiePie or a smaller streamer, who would it be?
SPEAKER_04Um, I would actually love to collab. So my favorite big streamer right now is Insim. He's the one that I learned Phasmophobia from. He's the one that finally got me to like, you know what? I think I'm ready. I can totally stream. Let me try it out, let me do it. Um, and I still watch him. I get all my Faz updates from him. I watch him on YouTube, I'll keep him playing. It would be nice to it'd be really cool to like play Fazz with him or Little Company or any of like the horror co-ops with him because he he's he has like a really nice sense of humor. He he's a really good gamer. Um, of course, also like like I don't even have to collab with him, like, you know, for Twitch or anything. Like, I would just want to be able to play a game with him and I don't know, maybe have a little crush on him too, but otherwise it's like it would be cool. I don't know. Um, but otherwise, I would want to be able to try and collab with every small streamer that's like in my community. Um, you know, kind of like solidify and expand the network a little bit more. Uh, I haven't been able to like collab with a bunch of people on the uh Creators Lounge Discord server yet. So hopefully one day I could do that. Leave and Moshi, I wish I could collab a little bit more. I think we were talking about it earlier. Like, I should make like a PNG tuber for them to put next to their VTubers in chat, because that's what they did with a bunch of the people they collabed with today. Um, I mean, I've been playing more with them. It's just they stream while I'm at work and then I'm at, and then by the time I stream, they're like sleeping. So it's like it just hasn't been able to come to fruition. But otherwise, you know, whoever's in the community, whoever I've been talking to and chat and things like that, I would love to collaborate with like everyone and and like kind of like combine our worlds, our community, and things like that, just so it becomes stronger.
SPEAKER_06Let's go. And I am always down for Phasmo.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You gotta say, Bullet, Phasmo, you name the time, I be there.
SPEAKER_04That ass. Alright, sounds good.
SPEAKER_06Y'all can mark my words, y'all can quote me, whatever, trademark me, whatever. I don't care. Phasmo is my game. Even though I suck at it, we will we'll we'll still have a good time.
SPEAKER_04Maybe one day we'll get better.
SPEAKER_06Maybe one day. Maybe I saw Buggy just come in here. I watch Buggy all the time so I can get better at the game.
SPEAKER_00Hello, Buggy.
SPEAKER_06So, what has been a favorite memory of yours from streaming?
SPEAKER_04We one of them, I there's definitely several, but one that I think has been talked about the most is last year during Squill House's birthday, I did a stream that I called the Shot Shot Shots stream. I think it was the month leading up to me. I was like, for every 5k or 10k channel points you guys donate to the community pool, I will take a shot on this day. And it was the it was the night before Squill's birthday, so I was like, we're gonna celebrate his birthday, and I'm gonna drink all the shots that you guys have decided to whatever donate to me or something. And it was just a lot of fun because you know, I think we had like a big group of people show up afterwards. I can't remember if 2v8 for Dead by Daylight was going on, but uh either that or Among Us, we just had like a big group of people that were all together uh in stream and then in the Discord server afterwards, and uh I did end up taking quite a bit of shots, and and I wasn't the only one like drinking as well. It was literally a party. That's why uh this is memorable. It was like one of my party streams, party nights uh on Discord and stuff. Um, and next thing I know, I wake up with my headphones still on and me being the last person in the voice chat because I had knocked out in the middle of like an Among Us round. Um, and we bring that up because especially too because that was Squill's birthday, and then I think some of us haven't talked about kind of doing something similar again. Um, just gotta be careful now because I try and you know not do like too much drinking or anything on stream anymore. But that was like a special stream, technically. It was like uh we were celebrating someone's birthday. It was, I think, uh also a Friday the 13th sort of thing. And I was like, guys, I'm gonna have fun. Let's let's do this. Like, you know, you can drink on your own. Um, you don't have to like stream as well, you don't have to whatever, just just have fun, hang out. Um, otherwise, the other one would be my 24-hour stream uh last year celebrating 100 followers because we also had a lot of people show up for that and a lot of people play with us because I do remember DBT did have 2v8, and we were like a full stack. We had like eight of us uh against two killers, and that was just a hoot of a time for sure. So um sound honestly, it sounds like the best memories were just you know those big community nights where I get to hang out with everyone and let loose a little bit, you know. Like on stream, I try to make sure that I, you know, I wouldn't say like professional, but I'm it's still like performing. I still have to be careful with what like I say in things, uh, because I don't want you know a certain image of me out there still, regardless. Um, so it was nice to let loose and have you know the community kind of see how I am a little bit more. Um, and I didn't lose anyone over it. They're like, oh no, you're too much for us. Instead, people are like, hell yeah, you're degenerate and cringe like us. Let's go. So it's like, yeah, my people. I got prints, I'm a party animal.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I'm weird and they're weird. Weirdos for the win, let's go.
SPEAKER_06Well, what I'm hearing is I don't need to play Among Us with you because you are very dedicated to that game.
SPEAKER_04Actually, no, I did only like one round. That's it. I don't even play Among Us that much. It was it wasn't what was it? Yeah, because by the time I had, yeah, I had too many shots. I was like near the end. But it would still be fun. I love playing like goose goose duck because of just you know the drama that ensues. So I love games like that. I'll play any game, like I said.
SPEAKER_06Community duck duck goose game, let's go. So do you have or did you or do you have a role model when it comes to streaming?
SPEAKER_04Um yeah, I do have a couple, I would say. I mean, again, in sim. Um when it comes to like actual production, maybe um some layouts or whatever, it's it's him, the way that he talks to chat, the way he plays games, especially Phasmo. Um, I do look up to him. And then since I'm on YouTube now, I found myself to kind of follow how Insim does his thumbnails as well. I just really like how they look, and I uh thought it was like it made sense, so I would do that for myself as well. Of course, I would try and like look at other people's, but um, a large part of it is definitely from Insim. And then in regards to like smaller streamers, um always he's very good at like just meeting new people, at building up community. Uh so I look up to him and I do go to him often in terms of like if I need any sort of like community outreach or like community question or um or even just want to hang out in his chat because he always has like what even if it's like a few like viewers, he has a very active chat, everyone's always talking. So if I just want to like dilly-dally and whatnot, mess around, do some readings, I usually go to him. I do also enjoy watching um It's Raina with two underscores. Um, she's also in Creator's Lounge, but um, she's not there that often. Uh, she is honestly like a bundle of joy. Anytime that she epically fails in a game, she just laughs it off. Uh, and her laugh is contagious, and her attitude is just so positive as well. And she's also just a really good gamer. I watch her play Dead by Daylight, and recently she has been playing some Elden Ring, and I don't know, she just she's just a cool gamer, and she's just doing how she wants to play games, and she laughs, she's not afraid to laugh at herself. So I do look up to her as well, and I try to be um positive like her on stream and try to laugh more and things like that. I feel like I rage as well. I think there's a balance between me raging and me laughing things off and and stuff like that. But the main thing is to make sure that I look approachable, that I'm a nice person. So um, at least I know when it comes to raging, uh I I'm always usually trying to laugh it off or something, or obviously not take the game too seriously because it's like first of all, don't take it seriously, don't look, don't go full rage and then uh just just laughs it at, you know. Because I'm sure chat is laughing, so it's like I should just chat with laugh too. So but those are some of the um streamers that I definitely look up to, I would say.
SPEAKER_06And speak of the devil, he shall appear. Squill House has joined the chat. Alright, you gotta do your chat, you gotta do, you gotta do it. You gotta do the chat.
SPEAKER_00You want me to do it?
SPEAKER_06You gotta do the chat.
SPEAKER_00Alright. Squill, squirrel, squill am. Squell, squell, squill am. Squell, squell, squale am. Squell, squell, squal, squell, squell, squelly.
SPEAKER_04Um don't know how many squilliums it is, to be honest. I think that was one too many.
SPEAKER_06It's fine. I was over here rocking to it.
SPEAKER_04Just rocking to it.
SPEAKER_06Yep, I was rocking to it. Yep, there we go.
SPEAKER_04Well it redeemed the squirrel house.
SPEAKER_06I sure did. Not any have to spend no channel points. Let's go. So, what is a positive impact stream has given you streaming has given you?
SPEAKER_04Uh, it's definitely given me something to do. Um uh, and it has helped me get back into gaming 100%. So before streaming, I would just know a little bit about what games are new and coming and like what they're like. When I started streaming because of the community that I have stumbled upon with Phasmo, with Repo, little company horror games indie RPG, even like you know, your friend slop, peak, airport security sucks, those kind of games. Like, I would not have known about those without the uh the community, the friends that I have made here. And so because this hobby is a hobby. One, I have a hobby now, thank you, outside of uh fishing and golfing, but both required to be outdoors. Um, it you know, it's it's it's so many things. It's a hobby with streaming, it's a hobby with gaming. I have created a new social network with it, I have made more friends. Um, it is a hobby with video editing. Uh, since now that I'm back to editing videos for YouTube, uh, and overall just a hobby for creative. And since I'm no longer in school and stuff like that, like I just didn't know what to do. And of course, a lot of time I was studying, doing homework, a lot of cognitive thinking. But with streaming, it has allowed me to be a little bit more creative and whimsy. And so that's definitely a positive thing from it. Doesn't matter to me if work was rough or something. I immediately shut that off when I get to my desk. Um, whether I'm gaming or editing or just hanging on someone's stream, it has been a very positive impact for my personal life because it gave me, you know, somewhat of a purpose, a community, and things like that. So um I can't see myself ever quitting Twitch. I may at some point, you know, maybe not stream ever again, but I will definitely still be here chatting in away, playing games with people. But it this commute this Twitch also likes to peer pressure, and it's like, you're not a streamer? Why not? You're not streaming anymore? Why not? Come on, man, stream, stream, stream. So it's like, yeah, even if I even if I stream, don't stream for like five years and come back, like I feel like there will definitely still be some people here being like, oh my gosh, it's back.
SPEAKER_06Yes. And I'd be one of them ones, I'd be like, oh, Rogue is on, where has she been? Where the hell have you been? I need to get my distant I need to get my plane seat, man. I need to see where I'm flying to.
SPEAKER_00You gotta check in.
SPEAKER_06What's something small that still brings you joy in all of this?
SPEAKER_04I guess just the one extra like follower. It's it's small, it's just one follower, but the number goes up for you know, we I feel like are naturally obsessed with the follower count. Um, so it's like, oh, why isn't it a hundred? Yeah, why isn't it this? Why isn't it, you know, this big number? But every time I get just one follower, I'm like, yes, one more, one more like on the way up or something. Um, so and I hope it stays that way. Uh I I'm you know, I'm curious, like if you know, we start reaching maybe more hundreds of thousands type of uh followers, if like what's it gonna take to get that little like uh either it's serotonin or dopamine, whatever, that little reward system in your brain to go like, yay, we got one. How much is it gonna have to be? Like 10, 100? It's like is I feel like it'll just be your brain trying to look for, you know, a bigger set of numbers to get that same feeling of excitement when you see that one follower. Because one follower, if you already have maybe like 100k, mathematically will feel insignificant, but psychologically, I hope that will still continue to be something that gives me like excitement, something to give me pushing. And I want to say that's the same thing right now with YouTube, because it's at it's small over there. Um every new view, every new follower, every new like, I'm like, yeah, we're we're actually doing something. Let's go. Um, so it's definitely just just one, just one number up usually is what it's the it's literally the smallest thing that makes me excited.
SPEAKER_06So uh 348 followers on Twitch, what would you say is your next goal or milestone number?
SPEAKER_04I would just be we're at 348, so I would say 350, but then after that would just be 400. Um like I said, I'm I don't know if I said already, but I'm trying to focus small. Um so for now it's just the 400. I don't I mean usually after every milestone, I've done like a you know, 100 was 24 hour stream, 200 was 12, 300 was 12. Um I think for 400 I won't be doing a long stream like that. Maybe I'll do a different event. But if we were to reach 500, then I'll do like another 12 hour and then from there, of course, celebrate each hundred milestone with maybe a smaller event. And then I was like, I'll never do a 24-hour stream again. But if we somehow make it to a thousand, then yeah, I'll go ahead and do another 24 hour stream. I think that's worthy enough for a long stream like that. But otherwise, I'm gonna try and focus on just just hundreds at the moment. Um, just to keep the expectations low. Um, make sure I don't get too stressed out about numbers, and that way I can celebrate sooner. Because, you know, the next at 400 that's sooner than a thousand. So it's like I just, you know, small wins are definitely still worth celebrating for sure.
SPEAKER_06For sure, for sure, definitely. Do you have a special catchphrase or something special you do with your chat? Other than the squilling chat?
SPEAKER_04A couple yeah, I I want to say a couple of things. Um usually my intro is like howdy, howdy, everybody, how's it going? Or something, or it's rogget, like I said, the rolling of the R's and the the accent. Rugged. Um, of course, as well, the um, thank you for checking in. Thank you for flying so and so time to us. How are you doing today? Don't forget to get your seat, don't forget your destination, you know, that sort of like flight attendant, like this is your captain speaking uh voice, stuff like that. And some of them um need a little bit more context, I guess. Uh, once like picture picture bitch, because when I was doing the Apox challenge on Phasmo, um, there was a point where I was trying to take a picture, clicking the mouse, but it wasn't taking the picture, so I was yelling at myself to be like, picture picture, bitch, like bitch, take the damn picture. Like, I don't know what's going on with the game, but it's Faz, you know, it's full of bugs. So, um, so that's been a common thing. And then I think honestly, that's all I can think of right now. I think there's a couple more, but those are the ones that definitely are at the top of my head right now in terms of catchphrases and whatnot.
SPEAKER_06What would you say has been your biggest accomplishment since you've started streaming?
SPEAKER_04I think it's just the fact that I am still doing it. Um, I'm sure it's a similar, uh, familiar feeling with everyone else. When you're starting it, you're you're a little nervous. You're like, I don't know what's gonna happen. I don't know if there's gonna be like a jerk in chat or if all people even like me. Um, and again, there were those days where I'm like, maybe I'm not good enough, maybe I won't do it, but I'm still here and uh I'm still making new friends, I'm still making new streams, uh making new content, things like that. Um I also lost my train of thought again. What was the question? Your biggest accomplishment on this journey being here, I think, and just having like a super cool and supportive community, and like anytime I talk in any chat or any server, like I am not ignored. Like, even just one person. Also, hi leaf and moshi. Welcome in.
SPEAKER_06Leaf and Moshi Raid, let's go, welcome in everyone.
SPEAKER_04Like it's I feel like it's not that good of an answer, but I'm I truly am just proud of that I'm still here doing it, and that I have found to really love it because when I first tried when I was 13, I had a jerk say, You suck, and I deleted everything, and I've been scared ever since. And then I've been wanting to stream for maybe like the past two, three years, slowly building up my PC to do it, and then I finally, you know, took the band-aid off, tried it, took a risk. I thought I'd be more sensitive, I thought I'd be more afraid of people um and what they would have to say about me, or people not even popping in, but I've I none of that matters anymore. I'm like there the positives outweigh the negatives uh right now, and I'm really glad and proud of myself for not letting like anxiety or doubt, you know, get the best of me. Because each day is each time I stream, it's I don't know, it's just been fun. It's been very positive. And again, I'm glad because it's another hobby and it's just something that I can do. It's it's literally, you have no idea just how much streaming and like the logistics of it and the analytics of it is actually really good for my mental health and like my emotional health because again, it's something to do, it keeps me busy. I love looking at stats, I love looking at numbers. You can ask Big Back Bookie or Squill House, but I am obsessed with like spreadsheets and stuff, and then the creativity part, like I get to go on Canva and design my own overlays, I get to edit, and it's just like I'm so glad that I started this because right now it is the thing that is making my adult life like worth it. Um and it you know, it's not it's not just about my career, it's not just about um other people because I'm also a people pleaser, like I'm actually doing this for myself and I have kept up with it, and I have you know set boundaries and I have um proud of being able to balance it all. And nothing has fallen apart in my other in the other segments of my life and stuff. So this has been really Yeah, I don't know. Just had the pressure before too. So these the fact that I'm just still here, it's just like amazing that like 13-year-old me who got the you saw comment would probably look at me now and be like, oh my god, you're so cool, you did it. So there's that, I guess. It's just it's something. It's I don't want to say it has given me life, but for lack of a better turn, it has given me life, has given me a purpose. I'm learning and I'm being creative, and I truthfully do think that those are things that you need in order to be happy, you know, not just money, not just family, but like, you know, just something for you to be able to do, and this is what streaming has been, and I'm so proud and happy that I have found it. Like I have found my thing.
SPEAKER_06You are incredible and you are a phenomenal streamer. Uh cannot say it enough, can't stress it enough, you are phenomenal.
SPEAKER_04I guess I better start playing Pokemon because that's what I was posting back then.
SPEAKER_06Pokemon!
SPEAKER_04Better bring that back.
SPEAKER_06What would you say has been the most difficult decision you've had to make while wearing your streamer hat?
SPEAKER_04There's definitely been say dumb drama in the chat. Um one that did involve very serious things and I had to report someone for it, and the police did have to show up to that person's house. Um I don't remember how I did it. I don't remember how I was able I I I think I think sometimes I can be pretty monotone anyways. So and when I try to decide what to do in some games, I literally just pause. So I think when the thing that the stuff happened in chat, I was just like, you know, still playing the game or doing something, like trying to stay on topic, but in the background doing the stuff that I have to do to protect my community. But that one was pretty serious. Um I I don't I don't want to cut do any like I don't want to trigger anyone, so I'm gonna keep it very vague, but it was they were just saying some really concerning, troubling things, and so I had to act on it in the middle of stream. Um, and then later on it turns out that yeah, police was sent uh to them. Um, and then that person was upset, regardless on a lot of us think that it was it was I don't know, man. Obviously, they were just mad. And twist they were mad, and we were like, Why are you mad? Oh, because this person is crazy, but I don't want to just say that. They're just not seeing against the point of view as to why they were reported, and so they started threatening not only people in my community, but squills, and then any community that is associated actually with Squill. Um, and Squill was not even the person that was in trouble, he was not the person that did the thing, it was me. Um, so I it wasn't on stream, but we also have to go around to different communities and different people be like, hey, I know you're familiar with this person, just to give you a heads up. This happened, if they show up, they might give out like they might say some really bad things, so you might either you can just wait it out to see if they say those things in yours or block them now. So um, it was basically just damage control. Um, and it was very awkward, and you know, I was worried for everyone's safety, especially Squills, because he was the unfortunate target when he did not deserve to be, uh, because he did nothing, but yeah, good times. So I some of my auto mod rules are still set to be pretty strict. Um, I keep forgetting to update those and everyone keeps getting auto modded for like nothing super serious, but it it it was it was quite it was it was something, I will say. So um, and that was the hardest thing I had to do. Um because it just had to involve so many things and it was actually like a a threat.
SPEAKER_06Well, W for you because like you said, you you never know if it's a joke or not. So definitely W and you are for your part. Because mental health is is not a game for sure. Hey, there were silver linings as well. That's helped us make tighter and bring our communities together.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah. We've had a few people actually end up being really good friends now because they all just got thrown into it like this whole mess that did not have to be there, but now we have something to laugh about, I guess.
SPEAKER_06So what has been the most satisfying experience you've had while streaming?
SPEAKER_04That's a tough question, I guess, because I wanna say that just being uh just streaming and making it all the way through to like I normally stream for three hours, so that's usually pretty satisfying. Um I don't know. I mean I played games that have been satisfying, but that's about the game and not necessarily stream. I don't really know. I think it's just the fact that people are still showing up and talking to me. Uh I'm especially I guess more satisfied if yeah, there's more people talking, uh, versus just like silence, but it's I've been a lot more active in like the past few months, so I don't think I've experienced like a slow chat in a while. Um and even if I did, like um I think I've also outgrown that and I'm like able to just keep focusing on the game and then streaming because to me it's making sure I get to the three-hour mark is important. So not only am I trying to be consistent with you know streaming Tuesday, Thursday or the weekends, but also making sure that I stream um like the full session or cut it by one hour if anything, but just making sure that I do end up like hitting start stream and actually showing up for a little bit um instead of just not. Uh, so it's you know, just a checkbox and my to-do list, stream, go live. So it's I feel like a lot of my answer is just about the small things. So I'm like, sorry if none of it seems like very grand and and and fancy or whatever, or like super like, yeah, let's go. It's just like, no, I'm trying to focus on the small things because I don't want to get a big head or anything either, um, and get carried away with all of this because it to me it it needs to stay as a hobby, otherwise it's gonna start ruining my life. I feel like and I can get like that, I'll start getting very nitpicky and perfectionist. Like, like my job is paying me to do that. I don't have to be that for a hobby, please. So um I think that's just it, making sure that I stay calm and finish through full stream as well, in addition to consistency every day.
SPEAKER_06Well, I c I can uh bounce off of that one because my my most satisfying experience watching one of your streams, because like you just hit the nail on the head, you know, you're a perfectionist and everything's gotta be fancy. That one night I came in there and like none of your blurps were working, none of your check-in stuff was work. That was it it's cruel for me to say, but it was just funny how you were reacting to it whenever somebody tried doing it, because you're just like it's not working, okay? Please like I I could just see you're getting so flustered and so mad because it was not working.
SPEAKER_04On some streams that that that that happens, I like what do I do? I'll just do it. I have like the sad meow song, and then I have the squill house. So if someone redeems it, I'll just be like, meow, meow, meow, meow, or like the squill house acoustically, like, oh I'm sorry, or bing bong, thank you for checking in. Like, because I hear it so often, right? Because normally you would be playing. So um, if you redeem it, I'll I'll still make sure that it gets heard. It's just going to be acapella. Um, for now it it's now I'm I'm not that worried anymore because yeah, I'll just do that. I found like a backup for it, but otherwise it's like yeah, it's like no, nothing's going right, especially I guess if I have more people than I expect, or if there's a raid. It's like no no no guys, this isn't normally how we are. Like, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Like, we're usually way more polished than this. Like, but at the same time, it's such a common occurrence with everyone experiencing like tech issues, so there is that. Um, so I guess also how you react through and deal with the audio, the audio issues or or camera issues is also, you know, viewers are still seeing this, you know, so it's important to, if anything, just go with the flow, go with it, have a positive attitude. Um, and if anything, too, I guess I get satisfaction from I guess getting feedback from people later on, like, hey, there was this problem, but you did really good, good job. So it's like, let me actually think so. I was actually calm and collected instead of like, because inside my head, it's like SpongeBob and with his brain like trying to look for like everything's just on fire, the file cabinet's on fire.
SPEAKER_06Like y'all didn't see or hearing it. Screaming. Cyber says, doesn't need to be fancy, you do well, just how you are and chef. Yes, I t I'm gonna get that put on a shirt. It's never a great stream without some kind of depth tech difficulties.
SPEAKER_04You know what? Let's make that sure. Let's everyone just order it now.
SPEAKER_06Yep. We're gonna make it sure it's not a good stream and on the back without tech difficulties.
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06That's why I try to do like the I try to get on these calls about 15 minutes earlier because I can't I think it was Goons that I did. And I didn't have time to like do the run like the 15 minutes. I think I had like five minutes, and I was running through the the scenes and the the Are You Ready, Welcome to the Beyond the Stream? The words were so big that they they looked good in Canva, but when I put it in OBS they were bunched together and I was like freaking out because I was like, Oh my goodness, like I gotta run and do this and fix this and I just eventually just like made it seventy times smaller than what it was. Like earlier when we were on and I was running through your stuff and I was like, Oh my goodness, there's a white screen at the end of your chat. Like, where did that even come? Oh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Except most people probably won't notice or realize, but you're the one who made it, so it's like obvious to you, like you know how it's supposed to look like and stuff, so yes, indeed.
SPEAKER_06Because it definitely caught me off guard because I was sitting here just chit-chatting with you and it's caught out of the corner of my eye. I was like, what's that white flash? And I went back to I pulled up Canva and it was like a little two, three second interval in between. I was like, nah, bruh, nope, can't do it. And then it was like seven o'clock, and I was like, ah, I always start on time. What do I do? Alright, we'll just download it, and when we get to that scene, I'll just I'll just load it in real quick. Yeah, I think it's a good one. Nobody will ever know. Yeah. So have you had your I made it moment? And if you have, what was it?
SPEAKER_04Um, I don't think so. No, I I think I'm nowhere near that. Um, I've definitely I've had that I made it moment in terms of like, okay, I am now officially a streamer. Um people like think like like in real life, people are like, oh yeah, and she's and streaming is her thing, and then my thing is this thing. Like, like for me and my girlfriend, like for her, her hobby is like going to a bunch of concerts and shows um because she loves live performances. That's her thing. What's my thing? It's it's streaming and it's like video games and stuff like that, and that's how I hang out with my friends. Um, once I guess that became my identity in real life, that's how I know, like, yeah, I'm a streamer, and I fully owned it. And like, because if I were to just start and people say like I'm a streamer, I'm like, no, no, I mean you know, it's nothing. I'm I just started, so I wouldn't say I'm a streamer, but now yes, I will say that I am. And I don't know exactly at one point I was able to confidently say that yes, I'm a streamer, I'm a Twitch streamer and stuff like that, but maybe I want to say like halfway through the year into the fall or something. Um, but in terms of like actually making it, like I don't know, make it big. I guess that's different for everyone. And I don't think I'm there yet for sure.
SPEAKER_06I w uh I was I would say on the opposite hand of that, because it's actually a two-parter question, but you kind of hit on it with what would you what would make you feel like you've hit you've had your moment.
SPEAKER_04I guess if uh I don't know if this thing can pay for itself. If every time because right now like the funds go to a I made a separate like Gmail and separate PayPal account for everything Twitch. Um and so I buy ever like my games off of that, any sort of like uh software. Um if at some point I'm able to use that to pay for you know my Discord nitro, maybe some boost on there for the community, and the gift subs and or just regular subs that I give out to people on Twitch when Twitch can literally just fund itself, then I guess that might be enough, I would say, in actually making it like it's self-sufficient, so to speak. So like the community just feeds itself uh thing, and I don't know what that number is gonna be like because especially as different prices change, who knows? Games, uh more expensive games. I need maybe a new I mean I had to rebuild my PC this year, so that ate a bunch of those funds or something, but for me it's it's a numbers thing, I guess. And I'll just keep an eye on the analytics. Maybe if I were to get 20 consistent viewers, but I feel like once that happens, I'm gonna be like, mm-hmm that's not enough, that's gonna be 50. So for me, I guess I'm just gonna keep it monetary where if it can you know, if it's self-sufficient, then I guess I'd made it because different uh like viewer counts or follower accounts can be very different uh out can have different outcomes and you don't really know like it there's nothing set out of puddos, uh I feel like I agree with that, and like you said, it's different for everybody.
SPEAKER_06Yep, Daisy has made the when you were back in your cherry, you hit the tower, she like popped her head and was like, bruh.
SPEAKER_04I'm sorry, trying to sleep here and the baby boys here, you guys can't see him though.
SPEAKER_06So this is a two-parter as well. So we got one part on this side of the hand, one part on the back side of the hand. So on one side, what would you say is your biggest strength when it comes to streaming?
SPEAKER_04My biggest I think it's just public speaking. Uh I've done a lot of public speaking since like middle school, I would say, and then of course even more throughout high school and college. And then especially now too, with my job as HR and as a recruiter, I am on the phone a lot. I'm talking to either candidates or clients, different business professionals all the time. So the ability to be able to publicly speak confidently, clearly, you know, not too many ums uh unless you know I'm absolutely shocked at a game, but just being able to speak and being able to actually stand in front of a camera and be confident, um, and have that camera on and basically just go live. I mean, this is virtual, but it's like being on the stage. And I would say that that was the front that's one of my biggest strengths, and I think that's a big reason why I am confident enough to keep streaming. Um because I don't know, like a lot of people I know are shy, and I think that's a big hurdle for me. It's I I just don't have it. Like I'm I'm never too shy to just hit go live now. Um, and I don't stutter too much. Never mind, I d I know I don't stutter. I mean I'll still have some filler words, but for the most part, like I can go on without even a pause or something. And I mean, except now, now that I'm now I'm thinking way too hard about it, but otherwise it's it's clear communication. I've always also been told um that I accentuate really well. Um and I guess just whatever presence I have with the camera, whether I'm slouching or actually like sitting up straight, like I think I am confident. And so at least if if stream is going to shit, if the alerts aren't working and stuff like that, I'm still able to like honestly, this is fine. Like, guys, like I I'm acting like I'm freaking out, but I'm honestly always like but I'm actually chill. This is this is for the content, this is for the show, guys.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, these are the where the clips are coming from. This is what I get. Yes, exactly.
SPEAKER_04And I also think I might be monotone though, so like I think naturally I'm monotone, so uh like I have to use my public speaking skills a lot, my customers' serve voice a lot to make sure that I actually sound like I have emotions, guys.
SPEAKER_06So let's see. Chef says it was fun watching you build it and marshmallows. Yeah, I was fun because now you are always really good with your words, which I would have to second that. I'd have to second that.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. Thank you.
SPEAKER_06You are not marking it.
SPEAKER_04You aren't monotone. Thank you. I have I mean, I had a teacher literally grade me on a presentation, and I had to record my voice for it, and she gave me a bad grade because I sounded monotone, and it's like, bitch, please, whatever.
SPEAKER_06So now it's just like you sound monotone, I sound fine, okay? Give yourself that bad grade.
SPEAKER_04And and then I looked and and I went to rape my professors, and everyone thought that she was a bitch. So it was like, it is clearly you, madam.
SPEAKER_06Yep, not me. It's never me.
SPEAKER_04Never.
SPEAKER_06So on the opposite side of that uh question is what is an area that you are not strong in or you feel you're not strong in when it comes to streaming?
SPEAKER_04I think it's just it's it's keeping up with chat. Um I'm honestly not used to having a fast chat. Like I said, it's only been recent right now where chat is active, so I'm like a little nervous making sure that, you know, I want to make sure I acknowledge everyone and I want to make sure that I'm saying the correct things, uh, you know, not try and get accidentally cancelled. Um, I think in those moments, like raids or or just more new people coming in, I I think a little bit more of my nervousness does come out, but I think that's natural as well. Um, but regardless, I I still think interacting with chat is going to be difficult. The most difficult because it is I can't control it most of their smots, but I usually can't control it. I can control, I suppose, my overlays, how I create them, my channel, like literally my whole entire like theme and stuff, but I can't control, I guess, the atmosphere that is created by chat. And so, and I'm always worried that if there are more people, of course, I want to make sure I acknowledge everyone so that no one thinks that I'm, I guess you could say a bitch, or I ignore everyone. Like, you can have everything look great, but I know lack of or or low chat interaction can still definitely affect your streams as well. Um, I'm sure a lot of you will disagree when I say that I don't think I'm doing a good job. Um definitely the yeah, but like deep down inside, I'm still like I'm pulling whatever I'm saying out of my ass right now, and I hope it's landing well. Because otherwise, I mean, I also English is not my first language, I have an accent sometimes too, so it's like I don't know. I'm also worried that like, do I sound funny to you guys? There's just so many things. Like, yes, that's so funny. I hate this about myself right now because I said, Oh, my strongest skill, my strong, my my strength is public speaking skill, and then my weakest right now is also public speaking. But I think it's like just interaction. Like, I can follow a script again. If I control myself, I can control what I say. But if you if I have like a heckler, like, oh man, I can't be a stand-up com comedian. If I have a heckler, I'm gonna be like, uh, uh, uh, I might end up being like a a bitch because like sometimes, like, at least when I'm naturally with my friends, I have no problem. You know, we'll insult each other and stuff like that. And I'm like, well, I hope I don't accidentally say that. Whether, even if it was called or whether it was like this well deserved or not, I'm like, I hope I don't make a fool of myself. Someone clips this and goes, don't watch this streamer, they're a jerk or something. It's like, but that might also just be in my head too, you know. And then so it's like, oh, there's still a lot. It's it's people, it's people. You guys are my weakness. Like, I don't know what to do with you guys. Like, I'm glove you, I I appreciate you guys, but at the same time, it's like y'all make me buckle my knees and sweat. And it's like, me? You're here watching me?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I don't even know how to dissect that answer. There was so many twists and turns in that it was a tangent, it was a tangent.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_06All right. Oh man, uh that was a lot to unwind in that one.
SPEAKER_04I tried.
SPEAKER_06I'm sure I can speak for chat. We don't feel that way about ya.
SPEAKER_04Thank you.
SPEAKER_06You do a great job.
SPEAKER_04I appreciate the validation.
SPEAKER_06You do a fantastic job. If you were to have never streamed or done anything content related and you were to start streaming tomorrow, how would you approach it? Or would you do anything differently?
SPEAKER_04Um, the only thing I would do is just change my theme. Uh, just because I had like a more blue purple at the beginning, and I'm like, I don't really like that color. I should have just gone with what I have now. Because a part of me too, here's a little personal personal experience, uh, is I went through a lot of internal homophobia. And so I feel like I tried to make up for it by trying to be as girly as I can. Um, and so that's why I started to kind of dress a little bit more girly, do more makeup, like pink. Ironically, it is actually genuinely one of my favorite colors now, but I think when I made that, I was trying to go for like, hey, I'm rogue, I'm girly, I'm whatever. But what as I look at the color, I'm like, and then I look, and I just and as I continue to be more comfortable on Twitch and stream, I'm like, why am I trying to still force this sort of like super girly like persona? Well, I can still be girly, but at the same time, I can also not. Um, you know, so it's like, and it's okay to do that. So I'm trying to let myself just be a little bit literally be more me, whether it's in colors, whether it's in design, whether it's in whatever I want to say, like just do that so that I don't know, just so that I don't have to worry about rebranding or changing things up and so that people know exactly who I am. I understand some people will just want to change colors too and stuff like that later on, but at least now I know that I'm not gonna say no to, you know, a more, I guess, traditionally masculine color scheme if that's what I'm feeling, like down the road and things like that. Um and for anyone else, I guess, that is in the LGBT community, like just the whole thing about gender and like gender expression, um that's definitely a thing that I uh go through as well. I'm still very proudly, like I'd say, like a girl and like feminine, but there are some times where I I guess I second guess what I'm wearing for stream because I'm like, do I look too much like a boy? Should I add on like a little makeup and stuff like that? So um if I were to start streaming again, I would not worry about I guess how I what I guess how I look just based on my gender, just wear what you want to wear and like strut the the catwalk with it or something.
SPEAKER_06Uh Papa Marshmallow asks, are you trying to be more girly for someone else, or is it just something you feel you should do for yourself? Like what's the reasoning behind it?
SPEAKER_04Uh it's definitely for myself as well. Um I do like to in some occasions I want to be more girly, like if there's an actual like formal party and I get to wear a dress and get dolled up, I'm like, hell yeah, let's do it. But in terms of just like everyday life, um, it's just how I'm feeling that day or week. Um, I'm definitely more uh to terms with it now, so I it doesn't really like give me as much anxiety or confusion as before. Um because yeah, when I was younger, I would be more girly to make sure people don't realize that I was like gay or bi or something. I wanted you know people to think that I was straight, that I was um, you know, not LGBT basically, but as I, you know, grew older, went through college, and now adulthood, I'm like none of that matters to me, and I should just wear how I want to dress. I'm still going to lean a bit more feminine because I do still want to appear like a girl, but if I by some accident use look a little bit more androgynous, I guess, maybe on stream, that's perfectly fine. Let yourself look exactly how you look. And those are some of the days where I don't want to stream because I'm like, I don't feel girly right now. I don't want to put on makeup. I wish I had a PNG tuber to use as a backup, and I just end up not streaming because it's like it's like how when how do I know I look good? It it used to be, oh, I look good if I look girly. Now it's like, no, I look good as long as I look like I'm cleaned and tidy and that like I showered and stuff, you know, like just basic hygienes. Um and and I'm streaming and not, you know, going to be on like a zoom interview. I don't need to wear like a suit, like a a blazer and like a nice shirt. Like I could literally just wear this. Um and so I feel like that's something. It's it's that it's that doesn't bother me anymore. Um, but uh if I'm ever being girly guys, it's because I want to be girly. Um, I don't have to impress anyone anymore. Um, unless it's like an event where it's like, ooh, I definitely want to look the girliest for that.
SPEAKER_06I would say that I never get those vibes from you, whether it be masculine or girly when you're streaming. Like right now, you you're dressed like you're comfy. Like you're at home, you're relaxed, and you're playing video games, like uh, you know, dress dress comfy. That's what I do. And I that it w it it's a I guess a vibe, I guess you could say, because I know I wouldn't want to get, you know, all dressed up and try to look a certain way if all you know I'm just hanging out with my friends and playing video games.
SPEAKER_04Right. Yeah, I think this is a very neutral like because guys and girls will wear this like a sweater and the beanie, so it's like pretty neutral.
SPEAKER_06Papa says, by what you're saying, it sounds similar to the struggles an IRL friend went through, and then they realize they are non-binary, but you always dress to the nods and look fly. See, that's what I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, uh, I thought about that. I don't think I maybe in the way I just dress, I am. I think I had someone in real life, um, like a mutual friend, ask the mutual friend, like, hey, is is Iris like identify as a sheher? They them, and and I was like, I wasn't even offended, I was like, oh no, I'm I'm a sheher, but like I don't I mean it's just clothes as well for me. I'm just and I'm comfy, so it's like that's just what I am. Or yeah, I'm comfy. My my pronouns are cum and fee. Never mind, don't look bad anywhere, dog. Um, but yeah.
SPEAKER_10Okay.
SPEAKER_04Otherwise, yeah, I don't know where I'm going with that. No more, no more. There we go. No more.
SPEAKER_06It has been clean. It's in the cloud now. It's in the cloud now.
SPEAKER_04Comfortable! I'm trying to say comfortable. Uh yeah, no, it's it's uh it's a go back to the porn or whatever it is. It's it's I've thought about it. I think I'm only non-byer in how I dress, but it definitely is it changes depending on the occasion, depending on the mood, but I definitely am I identify definitely as like a a female, though.
SPEAKER_06Well, like you said, dress comfy, sweaters and beanies are always a go-to, as Chef says in chat, so yes. And I and I'd vouch for that. If it wasn't 8,000 degrees in this room, I'd wear a beanie and hoodie too. But it's hot in this room.
SPEAKER_04My hair does not cooperate most of the time with a headset, so that's why wearing a hat just eliminates the need to want to make sure my banks or whatever are like perfect. So it's hot in here right now, too, actually. But this is this is damage control.
SPEAKER_06Did I hear correctly? I don't know, Cyberlat just got unwound.
SPEAKER_00Nothing, no, no, no, no, nothing. You know what?
SPEAKER_06Oh okay. This is why chat is my weakness.
SPEAKER_05Moving on, moving on, quick, quick, quick. What belief about streaming? Sorry, go ahead.
SPEAKER_06I just belief about streaming did you have when you started that you now know is completely wrong.
SPEAKER_04Philosophy when I first started streaming, that is now wrong. I feel like a lot of the philosophy I had back then still apply now. Like, you know, don't worry about the viewers, uh, it's focus on it as a hobby, you know, don't try and make a job out of this or something, or you'll burn yourself out. Um, I feel like a lot of those I still kind of have. If anything, maybe it's a philosophy of like, oh, I need to stick to horror, horror indie, don't play too many variety, but now I'm kind of branching off too variety. I'm definitely still mainly doing horror, but it's like half horn and half variety. So um that's the only philosophy that I don't have right now. I'm like, oh, you need to stay niche so you can like succeed or something or build a stronger community. And I'm like, but I think yeah, now that the foundation is built, like I found my community through Phasma through other horror games. That um, and then of course I found out that everyone also plays other games. It's like, okay, then I can play other games on stream and I'll still have my community, and people won't think that I'm like all over the place sort of thing. So um, does that answer that question?
SPEAKER_05Yes, yeah, thank you.
SPEAKER_04Okay, perfect. No more tangents.
SPEAKER_06Do you have any pre-stream rituals before you go live? Like, do you make sure you have a drink of water, a snack, or anything?
SPEAKER_04Um, I always forget my water. So it's a hit or miss. Right now it's actually empty. I have been sipping on an empty water bottle, hoping that I get just a little drop, but no. So otherwise, my lights, making sure that the camera is turned on. Um, if the cats are in here or not, because if they're not, then I have to make sure I leave the door open for them so that they can come back in. Uh the dog usually now likes to ask me to go out before stream. So now that's a stream. So it's just like it's just making sure you have the lights are on, everything's on. I think maybe I have no idea. Honestly, at this point, I just hit start stream, um, wait five minutes, probably yeah, get water, do something, and then I'm on here, and then I'm like, oh shoot, my camera's still not working. My camera's not on yet. Oh, my lights aren't on. It's a very it's like a different routine each time, I feel like. But if anything, start stream, let them be in the opening scene for five minutes or ten minutes or something, and then get back on or whatever. So but yeah. If anything, it's those things.
SPEAKER_06And then on the opposite hand of that, what is your afterstream window look like?
SPEAKER_04Um, I do end stream like close to midnight most of the time, and then I still have work the next morning. So a lot of the time is uh I I unfortunately do have two raiding route for most of those. If I do end up raiding, but then it'd be going to the bathroom, cleaning up there, making sure I'm ready for bed, and then just knock out. Uh just because it's so close to it's it's just late and I still have work and I wake up and I think I only sleep like six hours. Um a night, five hours, I don't know, man. Six hours sounds like a lot because I know a lot of you don't sleep. So but otherwise, yeah. I would say to that say I just go, I just try and get ready for bed. There's not much there. But if I do it in like the middle of the day, um I guess it's making sure I go eat. That's it.
SPEAKER_06Do do do we have a favorite snack or food preference after stream?
SPEAKER_04It definitely just depends on what my what's in the fridge. It's just whatever leftover uh we have and whatever snacks we have stocked up on, so um I just read the pantry, I just read the fridge and hope for the best.
SPEAKER_06She raids chat and then she raids the pantry. Let's go. Is there a game that hasn't came out yet that you're excited about to come out?
SPEAKER_04I think a common answer for that would be GTA 6. Um I don't have a PlayStation. I know apparently for PC release, that's usually a year after the actual console release. So I might end up just buying a PlayStation and GTA 6 at the same time. Otherwise, there are I don't I have a couple on my wish list, but I don't think there's anything that I'm like, ooh, I gotta have this soon. Uh Poco Pia just came out. That was a game that I really wanted, and then so far it is looking kinda promising for the next generation of Pokemon. So I'd be excited for that one as well. But otherwise, I don't really think I have a lot of games that I am looking forward to at the moment. Either they've already came out or I'm not caught up with some things.
SPEAKER_06Marshmallow says 2028 to 2029 PC release.
SPEAKER_04Oh shoot, so not even the year. Yeah, I'm definitely getting the PlayStation then.
SPEAKER_06What would you say was a risk you took with your content that ended up paying off?
SPEAKER_04Um I wanna maybe I can answer that two ways. One is always usually who I bring on to cold lab with me or play a game with me. Especially if there are some newer community members, I feel like that's always risky because you don't really know what their play style is. But at the same time, I you or I don't know if everyone does it, but I always want to make sure that if they're new, of course I want them to feel welcome. So I will have some designated nights where I'll have new community members play with me. Um those that tend to get a little bit more nervous or emotional because it's like, what if this person's a jerk and then I cry on stream? Um but otherwise the second part is what was the question again? What was a risk you took with your content and it's bringing on new people and then I I did say second part, but now I'm like I don't even think that's much of a big deal, but otherwise I guess YouTube would be the other thing. Um hasn't necessarily paid off yet in terms of like viewership and subscribers on there, but it's paid off again and how it's been able to let me start editing videos again, and there's it has its own set of analytics, so more numbers, more data for me to look at. Yay, I'm a nerd. Uh and so it's just it's keeping me busy, it's keeping my it's it's training my brain. I'm giving my brain exercises whenever I do anything creative and analytic. So uh at least in terms of personal health, personal return of investments. YouTube has definitely um worked out really well. And I guess we'll just see how it goes in terms of just the world.
SPEAKER_06Leaf and Moshi say we agree with the letting viewers join, but definitely also a risk. Yes, indeed.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06I had that happen to me one time. I was doing Seven Days to Die on my first stint on Twitch years ago. And it was me and two of my other friends, we were doing just a regular community build, and s some person coming to chat, you know, chatted with us for about 30, 45 minutes, and was like, hey, can I jump on server? Sure, you know, you seem pretty cool, why not? You know, we s send an invite code to him and everything. He joins, chatting with us, we're playing for about two, two and a half hours, and then just randomly he goes silent, doesn't talk to us no more, and then we just hear an explosion and we turn around like we get back to the base, and he's done blown our base up, destroyed all of our stuff and everything. And we were like day fifty, sixty, like we were pretty far in, and he just destroyed all of it, and I like just ended stream, and that's why I I'm very, very hesitant. And this happened almost, you know, nine, ten years ago, and I'm still to this day like um Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I I mentally prepare myself for days where I'm like, okay, we'll let new people play so that again at least I expect it. Or I could be like, yeah, if it's something like that where it's like day one, day two, it's like we're gonna start a new safe file with you. We're not gonna let you touch like you know, any of my personal like safe files that I like to do with my friends or something. But yeah, I understand that. That sucks, man.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I should have thought about that, but you know, young and dumb, what can you say?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you got a new chatter, new viewer, and it's like you know, you don't want them to be like, oh, this guy's boring, and then leave, so definitely makes sense to be like, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely come in.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, my my my friends I I still keep in touch with them to this day, and they still like don't let me live that down. So you learn from it at least? Yep, I did. I learned from it. So do you have a strategy when it comes to picking games you play, or is it just something you want to play and just play it?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, right now I'm trying to do by default. I think I try and do like one solo game, one co-op game, and then my RPG games like on the weekends. And so that's how I have my schedule set up right now. Uh, if I'm doing solo, then of course that can be anything. I usually do Phasmo, R Creators, um, any or I don't even know, any other game that I might do solo, it's usually Phasmo. And then a co-op game, which I will normally ask my friends, like, hey, what day do you guys want to co-op this week or play together and what game do you want to play? And so that's usually how I it's it just depends on the week, on what game, and you know, those are also just multiple more eyes on like what new games are out there, what should we check out, try out, and stuff like that. And then obviously, of course, I try and pop into other people's streams, see what they're playing, and be like, yo, that's a lot of fun. Let me see if I can get that going for my stream and things like that. So it's it at least follows Undereater. One solo, one co-op, and then my RPG, which right now is Kingdom Come Deliverance on the weekends. Um, and then after that, uh, you know, I have some time, but I'll probably pick another RPG to play in the weekends, because those are like, you know, I just want to get back into those, finish out my backlog, backlog, have some things for YouTube, you know, a story to follow, and then and then sometimes it could just be two days of solos or two days of co-ops, just depending on how the squad is feeling uh for the week. So it does change, but that's the usual category that I go with.
SPEAKER_06Oh my goodness, we got a shallal la la la la la raid. Let's welcome in. Welcome in.
SPEAKER_00Hello.
SPEAKER_06If y'all aren't familiar with Miss Rogue Iris, be sure to check her out. This is what tonight is all about. It is all about her. So I'm not gonna do a spew. So, rogue, if you just want to do a quick spew to the raiders, go ahead and uh hello, raiders.
SPEAKER_04Thank you for trusting us. I'm kidding. Yeah, trusting Bolo with your oh my goodness, why am I hearing double? Sorry. I think you were playing on my phone, so I was like, just echoes. But anyways. But anyways, welcome in everybody. My name is Rogeris. I am a an indie horror streamer. I do do some varieties and RPGs, as you were probably hearing as I was answering that question. I normally stream Tuesday, Thursdays, and sometimes on Saturdays. Uh I like horror. I like to scream. If you like someone, if you like to jump scare your streamers, I am definitely someone that you can do that to. Whether I am playing a horror game or not, uh, I am playing Kingdom Come Deliverance right now as an RPG. I also play I don't know, Civilization 6 on Saturdays as well, sometimes. So if you're ever into any of those, I have a plane theme. You can board my flight, you can get a seat, you can see where you're flying to. We got snacks, stuff like that. So if you're into any of that, um, or Pokemon or Star Wars, I am a streamer that you might want to check out, maybe. Please. Question mark.
SPEAKER_05Please, yeah, please, yeah.
SPEAKER_06But be careful though, because when you board a plane, they the plane can be full and you can be stuck in the cargo bay or just being drug along with a rope because that was me doing or duct tape to the wing. Yeah, I I haven't gotten the duct tape to the wing, but I was drug behind with a rope the other day. I think I was attached to the lane.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04I need to set up a system where it tracks like, congrats, you've uh sat in five out of ten seats or something, and like see if you can get like a oh, I want to get every seat, so we'll see if I can somehow figure that out.
SPEAKER_06But get to get to the 10, get all 10, you get like a gift sub or something, or oh yeah, it's like you've been here enough to uh unlock all the seats. Let's go. And chat. Also, if you guys have any questions, feel free to pop them in. We will get them on here for Ms. Roo, because I am dwindling down to the ends of my list. Um, so let's see. What is something your community taught you that you didn't expect?
SPEAKER_04A lot of patience, I will say. Um especially paying with uh Buki and Squill, because and also honestly, having like a brother, I guess. Um I do play with Squill a lot, I play with Bouquet a lot, I play with a couple of other people that I now kind of consider as my brothers. And, you know, as siblings go, we butt heads, we fight, we make fun of each other, insult each other. I only have sisters. Um, and you know, not to disregard, of course, the other uh ladies and um other folks in chat, but I at least, you know, never had a brother, and I definitely got that from them. And then the other things that I've learned for sure is that I can make many friends from around the world, and I always love that. I've made a few like international study abroad student friends in college, and I love learning about their culture and like learning about their language. So to be able to kind of do that again uh on here and the it it just feels like the possibilities are endless because you're always meeting someone new and you're always learning something new about the history of some country, the culture of another country, a language and things like that. So 100% um just the diversity and internationalism um from honestly a lot of people's communities, because I don't I feel like everyone has a little bit of just different parts of people in the world in everyone's chat. Uh so I guess specifically for me is it's it's having brothers, annoying ass brothers that I love to death.
SPEAKER_06So yeah, it's our job as brothers just to be annoying, okay?
SPEAKER_04But yes, I I can tell.
SPEAKER_06But yeah, I definitely agree. And it's not even just, you know, be it parts of the world, like it's just different parts of the country, like you know, being here in America, you got people that are on the west coast, you got people in central, you got people east coast, and then you know, you do throw the the international in there, like you know, we got people uh we got people from Germany, we got people from Australia, you know, the UK, like we're they're all over the place, and like you said, it's just great to to learn and um just their lifestyles and things like because there's um Casen. Cas Casen, I think his name is he's a big Phasma player. I don't I don't know if you know who that is or not, but he's from the UK and my my wife loves watching his videos, she learns you know fast from him. And his big debate is how they what is a chip and what is a fry? Like what is a French fry? Oh, yeah. And then apparently there's a different kind of French fry. Apparently, a steak fry is not a steak fry over there, it's something completely different. And when that gets started in his chat, it's gonna last for a good 20-30 minutes.
SPEAKER_04And yeah, it it's just in Squill's streams, there was a point where everyone was just talking about chicken, like what has the best uh like bucket of chicken or chicken sandwiches, or the most recent was like wings, like chicken wings, and so I was like on actually like a chicken wing crave like all week last week. Um, stuff like that, and it's just like yeah, and you learn about food too, and just different things. So it's like, oh wow, that tastes good. I'll try it out. Or hey, that's a complete lie. You have terrible taste, you need to reevaluate your life, and it's like people just get so heated about their favorite type of chicken.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, bojangles is the correct answer on that, by the way, just throwing that out there.
SPEAKER_04What is it? Bojang?
SPEAKER_06Bojangles.
SPEAKER_04Bojangles, okay. I don't think I've heard of that, so I'll have to look it up.
SPEAKER_06And that's what I that's what I was talking about, you know, just just the US in general, because um Bof Gopher, um, he does he he used to do a thing on his channels where he would take the the fast food restaurants from the from the country and he would just place them in, you know, what would be number one, two, three, four, and just categorize them, and I'm just like, I ain't heard of half of these restaurants. And then but it's just you know, parts of the country where it's specific to like Bojangles, that's kind of a southern restaurant. It's like we have Bojangles, Popeyes, and KFC down here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So chicken off. Oh, here we go. He's nutsy. I was yeah, it's down. We did it. We started it.
SPEAKER_04It's a chicken debate all over again.
SPEAKER_06Every podcast, I have at least one riot get started in in chat, and we finally get it. We got we got three questions. We got three questions left in in the questionnaire, and we finally got it. Church's chicken. See, I've never even heard of Church's chicken. What's that?
SPEAKER_04I never heard of that too, and then apparently we have some in my area. Like what like I've I would drive past one apparently. So I've never had it either, so that's interesting.
SPEAKER_06We got Bob Evans and Perkins. Don't Bob Evans doesn't Bob Evans make like a sausage? Like, don't they make sausage?
SPEAKER_04But I think I think so, but I think they also like have restaurants. They like they also have like groceries. You can buy your stuff in a grocery store, but also restaurant. However, we don't have that where I'm at, so yeah.
SPEAKER_06Apparently, Bob Evans sausage makes the best uh chicken uh sausage dip. By the way, for people when we have our Super Bowl parties and everything, that's what the wife uses for the sausage dip. And apparently it's the best sausage dip on the planet, so just throwing that out there.
SPEAKER_00Alright.
SPEAKER_06Well, while chat continues on the chicken debate. Where do you see yourself in five years?
SPEAKER_04Is the streaming or like just in general?
SPEAKER_06Streaming, IRL, what just whatever. Which five years, where where do we see Rogue Iris?
SPEAKER_04Uh in It's a good question. I mean, I hope I still definitely have the same friends that I've made from streaming in five years. Um I don't know if I'll still be streaming or making content depending on I guess maybe in five years I might have a different job, and so I might have a different schedule and just different energy for streaming, but I do hope to still be streaming, uh still be involved in the community, at least in Twitch, like uh watching people, following new people, meeting new people, joining more Discord servers, and just you know, talking more trash about Phasmo with every update. Maybe in five years they'll finally have the full game and be out of early release, but who knows, right? Who knows? Um we'll say in five years. I think what I plan on having is is maybe having my own property. Uh, I'd hope to be married. Renna. Um maybe a new job. If not, I'm perfectly fine actually with my current job because it does allow me to have a very good balance uh in work and life. Uh and you know have the energy for streaming. But, you know, maybe same position, just a little bit wiser, a little bit healthier. I hope I took I hope I can go back to the gym and you know, just be actually feel more look more like an adult, but I'm sure I will still feel like a kid, you know, like oh, you're so responsible. You have a house, you have a car, you have this nice job, but deep down, you know, if you watch my streams, it's gonna be like, oh shit, she's still a fucking kid.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I may have all this stuff, but what you don't realize is inside my house I have every single Pokemon card ever made, and I got all the plushies, and I got money. We never grow up, our toys just get more expensive. That's all.
SPEAKER_04Five years, yeah. I'd hope to have a nicer collection of like Star Wars or like Pokemon stuff for sure.
SPEAKER_10Let's go.
SPEAKER_04Five years. I mean, hopefully by this year, if not by this year, because we're trying to move to a new like we're trying to move in together and find an apartment. I hope to have a designated room for you know all this, but if not, you know, this year or next year in the apartments and stuff. Five years, I hope at least at that point I have an actual like office space so that and then I can have all my collection. I have like half my pop-uncle collection of Star Wars uh at work because I just don't have room here, but I have like a lot of space there, so I guess I'll just show it off there.
SPEAKER_06But you know, if I was to ever get caught in HR and I I hope my HR person, I was able to walk in and just see a wall of Star Wars Funko. Because I don't care what I did, I'm gonna find some way to get out of it by bringing up Star Wars or stuff.
SPEAKER_05Okay, I'm getting called to HR.
SPEAKER_04Please know that I am cool. Okay, she's got Star Wars stuff. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So you see what happened was they were talking junk about the the the Sith, so I had to get had to get on them.
SPEAKER_01So my god.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so so that's why I got called down here. Well, Miss Rogue, I have one more question for you, which is the hardest question of the evening.
SPEAKER_05Oh boy. Hey, it's Raynah. Hey Raina.
SPEAKER_06You're doing great. See, I told you you were doing great. You were I I knew you would do it. So final question of the evening, Rogue. Are you prepared for this?
SPEAKER_04I hope so.
SPEAKER_06So, Miss Rogue Airis. I've been on this app for I might as well just say a year and a half with 349 followers on this app.
SPEAKER_04Oh, we gained one.
SPEAKER_06We did. I've been checking with the raids and stuff coming, and I've been checking and refreshing. So, yep, 349 followers. Somebody new comes into this channel says, I've never streamed before, but I want to do it. I don't know where to turn to, I don't know what kind of advice to look at look at. What would you give for your best piece of advice for that new streamer coming in tonight?
SPEAKER_04Uh definitely do your res I mean, I don't know, man. Um I I my advice is more philosophical, I feel like, than like resource. Like, I mean, if you you're trying to figure out how to design things, then you can definitely ask that in the majority of Discords. You can just join like one streamer, join their community, join their Discord, and I'm sure a bunch of us I feel like have like a channel or have an open space to talk about streaming, and you could always just ask directly on there as well for like, hey, what do you guys use to design your panels? What do you guys use for your overlays? Stuff like that. But when it comes to actually being mentally, emotionally prepared for it though, like you can do all these things behind the scenes. I had my panels, I had my overlays all set like a month before I actually streamed, but it oh but it it took a little bit to actually hit the start streaming button. And it's that I guess my advice is to just you know take it like go easy on yourself. Everyone has tech issues, everyone is, you know, nervous when someone new comes in. Uh, not everyone has the best gameplay. There are a bunch of epic fail content creators or like content out there, and people love to watch them, you know, and it's relatable, so don't feel bad if you are a bad player. Don't feel bad if you um are new to a game, you know. There's a lot of us that love to see new players pop in and be like, How are you doing? Do you need help with anything? And then if if it if it comes to trying to get more viewers to just a larger community, you know, if if you want support for your stream, then you better be giving support as well. You know, watch other streamers, interact in them, follow other people. I'm not just talking about like a follow for follower kind of thing, like actually being a part of the community and talking and being active. And if you and so you might not even be streaming yet, but you already have look at that like a community of people that will be excited for you for once you actually start streaming and that is you know the foundation that you will need to eventually while you're getting used to it, while you're getting used to Twitch, OBS, all this, all then like, you know, understanding a little bit more of the nuance of things. And then at some point you will be able to meet new people that are outside of your original community and then it just continues to grow. But to do that, you really gotta be able to be present and and give support to other streamers because I think the small streamer community is just one of the most wholesome and supportive communities that I've ever been in. And it doesn't matter what sort of streamer you are, if they know that you're streaming, um like all the time I'm you know I'm seeing in chat like, is everyone here a streamer? Who's the streamer here? Let's give a shout out to everyone to follow. If you see some you don't recognize follow them school does that a lot. Um and I appreciate for now again he's so good at networking, he's so good at connecting with people. But support and community goes a long way. You know, you're not in it alone and if you are then I don't and I'm I I'm just gonna say it honestly I don't think streaming is for you if you this is if you're only gonna focus on yourself while you're doing this. Um and I'm not saying like like obviously if you need a mental health day go take your mental health day. Like that's all about you. That definitely makes sense but if you're trying to grow streaming that's uh uh it takes a village kind of thing and not like a I'll do this my own way sort of thing.
SPEAKER_06I would definitely 100% agree with everything you just said. Very solid advice very I feel like it went on another tangent but oh you're fine. Definitely like you said like this it it does take a village and you if it it's a you know you get your you scratch my back I scratch your back type like you just don't do the follow for follow like that doesn't work. I'm sorry. Like that's just a way to get numbers and that's it.
SPEAKER_04Because Yeah and you don't have viewers that way.
SPEAKER_06Yeah and I always say yeah it's cool to be able to flex yeah I got a thousand followers I got five thousand followers but out of those thousands of followers how many actually show up on the day in and day out basis and like you said you if you want support you gotta show the support and you gotta put in the work to you know like you said lay your foundation and get that community building and growing and you pee if you're just wanting people to show up to you but you don't return the favor they're just you know hey like they're they're why am I showing up for them but they don't you know show up for me type type situation. So I definitely a hundred percent agree with what you said.
SPEAKER_04Yeah and I mean there are definitely some viewers out there that don't stream so they don't care. They don't necessarily need your support but if you still go that route it is going to be a very slow process then for you to find those people that aren't streamers that don't need your support versus um actually just interacting with the people who also need it. And so you know it's like a give and take kind of thing.
SPEAKER_06Yeah for sure. You gotta do the work to get to what is it? You gotta do the work to rewards if if I'm saying that correctly I feel like I just butchered that. But yeah I don't know either so I cannot help yeah you it's it's not it's not as simple as people may think it is where like oh yeah I'll get a PC I'll set up my OBS and boom I'll have hundreds of people coming in and no you there's a lot of groundwork that goes into building a not even just building a community but to like be a part of a community. Like there's a lot of groundwork to do like you just don't randomly show up into somebody first time you know your first time chat and somebody's screen oh yeah I'm a streamer y'all need to come check me out. Like no you don't do that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah like that that's a really big like you gotta show up that's the one of the big like rules in chat sort of thing like don't do self promos sort of thing.
SPEAKER_06Yeah because and I'm I'm horrible for it because there's people that I watch that I've been watching for months and even years honestly and I'll show up and they're like oh yeah let's give Bullet a shout out like you know Bullet's a streamer go no like don't do that. Like this is your stream. Like this is your stream don't take the focus away from you like I appreciate it but I'm I'm here to show my support to you like that type thing. So definitely like you said support for support not follow for follow and lay your foundation do the work and your community will slowly but surely start building and it's it's more rewarding to get it earned like that because you know at the end of the day the people are there to support you and be there for you.
SPEAKER_04Yeah that's why I feel like too um I mean especially for still small streamers that they need to take a break and then everyone's like worried like I feel bad for missing a stream sort of thing. Like with a community you don't have to worry about that. They will definitely still be there for you when you come back sort of thing.
SPEAKER_06So Oh yeah for sure and there's been a few people that that have been in chat tonight where they've taken like a week or a month off and they were worried that when they came back there nobody was going to show up and they get that you know we get that notification and it's oh they go online boom 15 20 people are back in chat hey welcome back where the hell have you been locked up yeah pretty much and that and that goes back to that do you build your community with the people that you support and they're gonna return it and support you in any type of way. So definitely great advice on that. Again 100% agree with you for sure. But Miss Rogue that was the last question I had for you crushed this interview like I knew you would. Is there anything you'd like to add or say to me to chat to just anybody that may be listening to this now or in the possible future Yeah and it's gonna be a little mushy and like whatever but really thank you so much for um you know inviting me to be here.
SPEAKER_04I honestly now that I think about it like I would say getting invited to be a guest on a podcast about streamers is my I made it moment. It's definitely one of them where it's like okay I'm starting to kind of like maybe be a little bit more known by other people so it's like oh okay now I'm like you know now I'm like able I'm actually being invited so that I can be presented to other people and you know people can find out things about me that they don't know because you know it's not often that they get to ask these type of questions in chat because I'm too busy trying to figure out how to not die from a ghost and Phasma and stuff like that. But otherwise it's again no it's it's really thank you so much. I'm gonna try not go on too much of a tangent but thank you for inviting me. This means so much to me. I appreciate the work that you have done with all the overlays and the music and all that and for everyone that showed up in chat thank you as well. Like I said it takes a village and you guys are my village. I don't think I'll be ending my streaming career anytime soon because you guys have shown up for me so I'm gonna show up for you. Whatever that is as the streamer so you guys can have something to watch or uh as a viewer in chat chatting away trying to you know jump scare you or whatever reading you have and stuff like that. But truly appreciate you this has been so good for my mental health you guys have been so good for you know giving me such a nice uh social life and things like that. Uh and so if anyone ever wants to collab or play games just let me know. I'm always down it's just again a matter of schedule because I do still work full time during the day and some of you are also on the other side of the world. But other than that, I cannot thank you guys enough for the support for helping out little old me. I am always going to be belittling myself honestly and be very hard myself and it's nice to hear some good words of reassurance from you guys whenever you pop into stream and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_06So thank you thank ya Well I have said it numerous times. Look I don't get how y'all look I I I took like twenty minutes on stream the other night to learn how to do that little the the the finger heart like that. Okay yes it's easy for you I get it okay but yes I've said it once and I'll keep on saying it you are a phenomenal streamer and I have been glad to have been on this journey that I've been a part of for these last few months. I am glad to have found you thanks to Squill. And thanks Squill you are killing it I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you as far as this streaming journey. I'm gonna say you're gonna be uh a a thousand by Christmas time because I have that much faith in you and you are I I mean I don't see why you wouldn't because you're you're you're great.
SPEAKER_04Listen if I do if I do then you and I do you drink? Yeah sometimes yeah okay uh it doesn't have to be on stream but like on a Discord we're gonna celebrate we're just gonna have like a beer or shots if you're down for it together and we're gonna be like bullet you were right. We're celebrating that you were right.
SPEAKER_06Not that I got a thousand but that you were right okay okay well chat we're gonna roll some credits jam out to this song I love this song so much I can listen to it on repeat just me being biased.
