The Laundry Room Rosary
Loss Precedes Resurrection
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
This reflection reminds us that just as spring follows winter, growth in our lives often follows seasons of loss, endings, or decay. What feels lifeless or broken beneath the surface is actually being prepared by God for new life, renewal, and deeper surrender. Trusting Him in the waiting allows resurrection and fresh growth to emerge.
We’re so pumped you’re here again, friend! God is so good, and we’re proud of you for choosing to grow closer to our Blessed Mother and her Son, Jesus Christ.

Hi friend, I'm Kayla. And I'm Kendra.
SPEAKER_00And this is the Laundry Room Rosary.
SPEAKER_01Because holiness doesn't wait for calm mornings or clean counters. It's found right here in the middle of this thing called life.
SPEAKER_00In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, amen. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
SPEAKER_01I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
SPEAKER_00Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
SPEAKER_01Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
SPEAKER_00Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
SPEAKER_01Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
SPEAKER_00Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_01As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. Spring doesn't skip winter. The trees are bare, the fields are brown, the frozen ground looks lifeless, and yet, beneath the surface, seeds are rotting and fermenting, preparing to burst forth. Loss is a part of the process. What looks dead is actually setting the stage for new life.
SPEAKER_00Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
SPEAKER_01Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

SPEAKER_01As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. This is how God works in our lives too. Sometimes we face endings, heartbreak, failure, or the loss of something we thought we could not live without. It hurts. It feels final. But God is at work beneath the surface, breaking down the old, so he can bring forth something new.
SPEAKER_00Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

SPEAKER_01As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. In agriculture, nothing grows without decay. Old roots decompose to nourish the soil. Old stalks fall to feed the next season. Resurrection follows only after something has been released, removed, or broken down. In the same way, God's renewal in our lives often comes after surrender and letting go.
SPEAKER_00Who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

SPEAKER_01As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. Loss exposes the places we are clinging, the things we idolize, the comforts we depend on more than God. It humbles us, softens our hearts, and makes us ready for the resurrection God wants to bring. If we skip the loss, we miss the depth of new life waiting on the other side.
SPEAKER_00Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

SPEAKER_01As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. So this spring, remember, the bare branches, the brown fields, the frost, and the decay are not the end. They are the promise of what is coming. What dies beneath the surface nourishes new growth. God is at work, resurrection always follows lost. Trust him in the waiting, because the harvest is coming.

SPEAKER_00Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him. We humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. In the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Amen.
SPEAKER_01Hi, friends. So I am solo today, maybe for a couple episodes this week. Kendra has been feeling a little under the weather, and I am picking up picking up where we left off because I know we want to keep getting these pushed out. And so many of you have been listening from all over the world. We have reached over 4,800 listens and 31 countries, I believe, which is just absolutely incredible. I think we've hit almost every single state in the United States, which is just so cool. Like it has not lost on me how incredibly awesome the reach has been, and how blessed my sister and I are to have the opportunity to do this every single day. So thank you so, so much for being here. Thank you for tuning in, for sharing with your friends. It has just truly been a gift from God. Today's reflection is pretty tough. Lost precedes resurrection. It's often those things that are so painful. And we question why. We ask God why this happened. Where is God in this? God wouldn't let things like this happen when, in all reality, we are told in scripture and we're promised that God's going to work everything for good. It might make no sense in this life. It might not make any sense to our simple human hearts and minds, but God is going to take every single hardship and painful thing that we are going through, and He will work them for good. And it is really hard. It stinks when it's lost, and our lives feeling like they're crumbling around us, you have that new growth happen. It sometimes is so hard that it turns people away from God. Often, actually, it can turn people away from God, but it can also serve as such an incredible reminder that God is with you, God is here, and He's working things for good. The scripture, the book of the Bible that comes to mind for me with today's reflection is the book of Job. So I started the Bible in a year podcast with Father Mike Schmitz a couple years ago. And I'll be honest, I made it till about May, and then summertime happened and I fell off the wagon. But you start with Job in that whole entire podcast. And then I read through the Bible in a year and it with a different program last year. And I did it with a group of women that I do life coaching with. And we're working through the Bible again this year with a different program. And Job has been at the beginning of all three of those. And Job went through it. Lost his family, lost his home, lost his crops and his animals. Like he lost everything. And then he had people in his life that were, you know, hey, you just need to confess to what you did wrong, or you just need to do this and you need to do that. And I mean, Job genuinely wished that he wasn't ever even born. He cursed the day that he was born, but he never cursed God. He still clung to God, even when he was wishing he was never born. And I think that's the reminder that brings me so much peace. And I hope that whatever you may be going through, it can bring you peace as well. Because the best description I've ever heard of the entire book of Job is maybe the question at the end of the book isn't why. Maybe the question of this loss preceding resurrection, maybe the question isn't why, maybe the question is who. And that answer is always God. So, my friend, whatever it is you may be going through, I want you to know that I'm praying for you. We're praying for you here, my sister and I both. And also that God is there. Maybe he's no, there's no maybe about it. He is the answer to our question in every single hard situation.
