When someone turns their back on you, the shock hits harder than the wound itself. And here's the brutal truth. Betrayal doesn't just reveal the other person, it exposes you. It exposes the corners of your heart you thought were safe.

And in that moment, you see yourself for what you really are, not what you've been pretending to be.

Look straight into it. Let it uncover what you've been avoiding. Let it purify, let it strip your pride. Because what is revealed in betrayal is not the end. It's the opportunity to surrender, to rebuild, and to let God form something unshakable from what was once hidden.

This one hits super hard, especially knowing that we are edging ever closer to Easter. But before Easter must come Good Friday. And before Good Friday must come one of the most ultimate, most ultimate, I don't know if that's correct English, but one of the ultimate betrayals that I'm aware of, and that is Judas betraying Jesus. It always breaks my heart when we read through the gospel, when we read through the passion, and we learn what Jesus endured. I think it's so easy in our world today, in our humanness, to forget. During ordinary time and Advent, I think it's I do think it's very easy to forget what Lent truly is. And I in the past probably two years have really felt like I keep that at the forefront more. I keep it at the forefront of what Jesus went through for us. And I know that that sounds so simple, but I said this a couple weeks ago. I feel like when you immerse yourself every day in the rosary in time spent with Jesus and time spent with our Mother Mary, it's kind of like you can taste the color purple. And I know that that makes no sense, but it's like everything has more clarity around it. And so this pain of betrayal, like it just feels so deep and so raw of what Judas did to Jesus. And what did he do it for? He did it for worldly possessions. He did it for some silver. And it serves as an anchor for me of okay. I need to check myself. Am I serving the world or am I serving God? Galatians 1 10 tells us. Am I serving the world or am I serving God? And you know, you gotta check those worldly possessions that you think you have to have. You gotta check those those things this life tells us that are necessary, when in all reality, at the end of the day, can you be okay saying I've got my kids and my spouse? Can you be okay be okay saying I've got my spouse? Can you be okay saying I've got Jesus and Mary? And that's all I need. I I really like that it says that betrayal exposes not just the person who betrays, but it exposes the other person too. It exposes you. It exposes the corners of your heart, you are safe. Things as human beings, we're so good at masking things. And so even though betrayal stings and it's hard, number one, I hope and pray. No one listening is ever betrayed like Jesus was by Judas. But I also know that all of those hardships are opportunities for us to audit ourselves and to become more Christ-like. I think it's it is a very kingdom-minded thought and not a world mindset. And I think that's why it's so hard for a lot of us to grasp. But definitely keep this one close, close to the heart. It betrayal when we experience it, it forces honesty. It forces us to realize what has been an illusion. And that pain and that exposure, those are tools that we absolutely can use. And remember that you draw closer to God after them. You draw closer to God through them. Don't seek the ways of this world, don't serve the world. Look at them as opportunities to draw closer to God.
